Great thai food. The restaurant is relaxed and looked to be family owned. The food was phenomenal. There is a large fish tank. That atmosphere is open. It was clean. The service is decent. The gentlemen working seemed like it may have just been him and the chef working. I would strongly recommend.

One if the best Thai options in the city. Our favorites are the Pad Thai, beef salad, yellow curry, and duck curry. The sweet doesn't overpower the savory and they actually trust me when I ask for it spicy and deliver that 🔥🔥🔥.

In all honesty, this is a fantastic place for anyone looking for Thai food. Even if it's not my 5 out of 5 stars, it's actually still really good and this is my preferred location because my 5 out of 5 stars is really far away from me.

Duck Curry is really a special dish. Get take out only so no I dining experience. 2 years ago I Moved to Vancouver from Seattle where competition among Thai restaurants is tougher than Vancouver.
I found this place is of good portions high quality and high standards and the owners are very nice!

We LOVE this place. I moved to Vancouver two years ago from the Midwest and I have done take out from here more than anywhere else in that time. Partner (local) suggested it and loves it too. Absolutely love the food.

I've been ordering regularly (2-3x/month) from Talay Thai for about 8 years.

Pros: Food is delicious. Also, if you order spicy you'll actually get spicy.

Cons: I just can't recommend ordering Delivery from Talay any more. Over the last couple years they've gone from filling their to-go containers (& having extra-tall containers if you order the $3 "extra meat" option) to really skimping on the serving portions. The Pad Prik Khing (so good!) that I had delivered tonight (with the $3 "extra beef" option) showed up in a small container with literally 2 pieces of meat in it, and about 25% empty before it was even opened. This has happened regularly the last several times I've ordered Delivery from them. We used to get at least 2 meals out of each order, now it gets consumed in 1 sitting & leaves us hungry.

Maybe the Dine-In experience is better, I'm not sure. We'll have to try it soon, but it's across town & not convenient. In the meantime, we're sad to cut this restaurant from our go-to delivery restaurants. I'd give 5 stars if the portions weren't being cut so much while the prices keep going up.

Edit: Update 4 months later. Tried ordering again, hoping things had perhaps improved. It's gotten worse. Now the container is more than half empty. I tried calling & asking if this was intentional. They said it was, but that's "normal." It is not, or at least it didn't used to be. Maybe there's new management? Either way ... DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY HERE. Lowering my review. Photo of my $20 "with extra beef" order, right out of the bag.

Can be difficult to order over the phone, but they are very accommodating and the food is fantastic.

They have really good food! We normally do not stay to eat. Although when we have stayed, it feels cold and empty. Needs some warmth and comfort. The food is almost, and I mean 99% of three times, it is absolutely solid consistency in the preparation and execution of their entrées is marvelous. They are everything one would want or need to have an awesome thai food experience. They are a bit pricey and truly a treat. It's about $55.00 to feed 3 people. I suggest drunken noodles or the spicy beef salad.

Called in a lunch order and was pleased with turnaround time and flavor.
Totally forgot to snap a pic, but I ordered the shrimp fresh rolls and the chicken pra ram. It's less than a mile from work, so it's nice to add another restaurant to our list!

Wonderful food, fast, we had just missed the lunch rush. Beautiful presentation. Delicious. Also a delightful waitperson. They made us laugh.

I usually come here on special occasions and today we ordered take out. Our last few orders have decreased in size and quality. Today my order did not include the extra tofu I paid for and had multiple bones in the chicken. There was almost no flavor other than spice and the rice was crunchy. I called to ask for a refund for my food and the person on the phone kept saying goodbye without resolving the issue

Iv been to Thai land many times and I’ve also had the same curry at many local places in Vancouver. This one is the best and closest to true Thai land Iv ever tasted.

I did take out twice since I moved a few min away. It was very good both time. The difference between a spice level of 3 to 4 was very noticeable in a good way. 3 or below is great for kids, 4 was perfect for the adults. It was pretty expensive tho. I would not have expected $17+ for a restaurant rated $$. But food is excellent!!

Always quick for takeout, still has sinage claiming sushi but no sushi. Good portions and quality food.

We have ordered from Talay Thai for many years. The food is amazing, the staff is friendly, I highly recommend trying it. The only disappointing this is the spiciness is inconsistent. I order 3 starts all the time but I get between 1 to 5 starts when I eat. If they could be consistent, I would rate them 5 stars.

I ordered food for the first time with Uber Eat. It was Talay Medley and chicken wings. It was good. The next day, we were not feeling well and staying close to bathroom. I think it was the mixed seafood. It was not fresh! Should have known what bad seafood tasted like. Not going back.

This used to be one of our go-to Thai places. Their food is tasty and they're in the neighborhood, so nice and close. HOWEVER!! Last night, as I was eating my favorite, yum woon sen, I found a wad of string in my mouth. Not just a single string, mind you. But a string, looped and tied, with more string hanging off...like a tassel. Not to be too descriptive, but my husband found evidence of more string after his morning appointment, if you know what I mean. This is disturbing and disgusting. While they offered to comp us an entree on our next order, I don't think we'll be returning. And it's kind of a bummer.

I love their food. Great service. Highly recommend this family owned business

The best Thai food in Portland metro. Noodle dishes are better than the curries but it’s all very good. I hit this place for lunch every time I’m anywhere close.

Nice little hole in the wall type place where you can give a number between 1-5 on how flavorful (spicy) you want your food to be. Family owned and operate it seems.And portions are generous.

I just moved to Washington and ate here for the first time. I ordered the Golden Noodles and it was delicious! This will be my new Thai restaurant.

We walked in submitted our order and were out the door headed home with in 10 minutes. We had a great meal while minimizing our effort for great food.

This place has incredible food. We ordered crab puffs, salad rolls, yakisoba, and pad Thai. Best Thai food we have had in a long time. We ordered through GrubHub for delivery. We have tried a few different Thai places before this one and I do not think I will go to any other Thai place for delivery. Peanut sauce was so yummy 😋 Also, it was very fast.

Horrible place. The lady was super disrespectful in never gave us our food over $50 worth. Grubhub was the one that refunded us because she couldn't follow through wanted argue for over a 1/2 an hour . She said her name was ninn.

They make the best duck curry I've had around this place. Very nice people. Was waiting at my car for the food to be done. Was about to come out and get it and the guy brought it to my car him self. Very awesome customer service. I'm definitely going to be a regular customer here.

At first it was the rubber band I found in my salad roll but I eventually let it go and continued to order from them. Then today they shorted me an order of salad rolls, when I called to see if they would be able to send it they accused me of lying to them and refused to give me an order I paid for. I’ve never been treated with such animosity and hostility. I’ll never order here again. Thai Orchid and Arawan are much better and have great customer service!

The pad Thai was good. A bit ketchupy but still good. The pineapple curry however was terrible. It was super thin because it seems they poured pineapple juice and a whole can of pineapple in the curry. Unfortunately that was $14 thrown down the drain.

The waitress was really rude. I asked her stuff about the food and she will answer really rude. It looked like she was in a bad mood. Later I wanted coffee and then I said never mind I want tea and she rolled her eyes at me and gasp. I was never rude to her and didn’t say anything just thank you and I left. I didn’t feel comfortable eating my food, because I don’t know if she did something to it, because she was mad, that’s just very unprofessional.

I wouldn't order anything for take-out. They forgot to put spices into my order. I order the Pad See Ew with shrimp and the sauce is a very salty to me. Very disappointed......

Really good Thai food when they get it right, which is the clincher.
We go because it's literally the closest sit-down restaurant to our house and our 2nd favorite Thai right after Thai Little Home, which is a bit of a drive for us.
They seem really understaffed, with two people usually doing everything. We have to make sure they get our order correctly because like as not, it comes back wrong. Customers come in to pick up to-go orders and then have to wait for new dishes to be cooked as they've made major errors in the order. We might see this happen two to three times within the timespan of us dining in.
As stated before, when they get your order right, it's really good. They might be some of the best Thai dishes in town - and they're not afraid to deliver the heat. If you ask for a dish spicy, watch out!
But they really need to fix their customer service and attention to quality. I suspect it's costing them business, judging by the one-two star ratings, which, honestly, are hard to argue with.

Very very good food. I stopped by for some take out and ordered some massaman curry and some lemongrass chicken spring rolls. They were amazing. I've never had massaman curry before but I think it may be one of my new favorite foods.

I ordered for delivery from Talay Thai Cuisine through GrubHub. My delivery guy was at the restaurant for a long time before it was delivered. There were items missing from my order that I had paid extra for. I called and talked to owner of Talay and he suggested that I call for uber to pick up my missed items!! I asked him, you expect me to pay someone else to go get the items that I paid you for to have delivered to my door!?" Silence, then he giggled, I dont know? WTH!!

Deeeeeeelish! Paleo & gluten free options as well... celiac friendly so far. Fast customer service!

Only reason I even gave one star is. o I can leave a review I didn't even get a chance to try the food the people do not speak English at all he overcharged me for my order and when I told him he overcharged me he didn't understand what I was saying I told him just to give me my $40 back and I would go to another restaurant. On top of that I had to wait 45 minutes just to have him charge me the wrong price and not understand what I ordered I will continue to go to Thai Wok kitchen that's a little further away from me but they've never messed up my order and their food is really good I do not recommend this place.

Great food, more flavorful than many Thai restaurants. They're happy to make reasonable substitutions (I order "no rice/extra veg" for keto/diabetes). The spiciness is extremely variable from day to day, sometimes I request 3 and get a 1, sometimes I get a 4.

Very good thai food

Just received an order for Pad Thai beef and Pad Thai chicken. They really should make available a "no spice" option. We ordered the 1 on level of 5 for spiciness and it was really too hot. Otherwise was quite tasty and arrived quickly via Dining Dash.

My family and I have been frequenting Talay since we moved to Orchards and we love it. The food is always great and the service is awesome. I reccomend the panang curry and the drunken noodles!
