Modern Vietnamese Fusion
Ginger and Lemon in Whitestone has a nice atmosphere with stylish decor, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. I tried the lunch special featuring a fried chicken and shrimp roll—it was tasty. The crispy cod was also good. However, I wasn’t a fan of the Vietnamese coffee—it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. If you're in Whitestone and craving Vietnamese cuisine, Ginger and Lemon is worth a visit!
Great ambiance if you’re having a chill night out with a friend. Seems that the quality of the food has gone down a bit over the years — possibly due to new management, etc. I appreciate the customer service and the short wait time. Out of everything that my friend and I had, we would highly recommend the pan-fried chive dumplings. They are a bit on the pricier side (about $11, only comes with 3 dumplings though…), but definitely very flavorful. Please be warned, the drinks are also on the pricier side (without alcohol!), upwards of $8 each, like the Thai iced tea. The pho itself was great, although we thought the noodles themselves were very soft. I appreciate the attention to detail that the chef makes, and ensured that the meal is to the customer’s liking. It makes the restaurant as a whole feel more genuine and warm.
I adore this place! The decor is incredibly charming. Although I've only eaten in a few times, I've ordered delivery so often that I've lost count. My ultimate favorite is their spicy lemongrass soup and steamed bun pork—I always go for it! Dipping the bun in the soup is divine. And my partner loves their Turmeric Fish With Dill, but he opts for quinoa instead of noodles. We've also savored their shaken beef; the flavors are fantastic! I can't forget to mention the beef tartare—it's fantastic too! I highly recommend all the dishes mentioned. And trying their curry is on my list too—I'm sure it will be amazing!
From the moment you step into Ginger and Lemongrass, a Vietnamese culinary haven in Whitestone, you're enveloped by the aromas of authentic, rich flavors that promise a delightful dining experience. I have frequented this restaurant multiple times, and each visit solidifies my love for their exquisite cuisine.
The star of the menu is undoubtedly the pho. The soup base is deep, rich, and layered with flavors that make other versions seem bland in comparison. It's a comforting bowl that brings the essence of Vietnam right to your table. Equally impressive are the savory cakes, which are a unique delight with a subtle hint of coconut that tickles the palate in the most pleasant way.
While I enjoy dishes with a stronger heat, the coconut spicy lemongrass soup was a well-balanced medium spicy, suitable for most taste buds. However, the real surprise was the steamed seafood paired with garlic bread – a combination that enhanced the flavors and added a satisfying texture contrast to the meal.
Despite the restaurant's bustling atmosphere, especially noted during our last visit at 6:30 PM, the service remained commendable. Although there were minor hiccups, like two items missing from our order, the staff's efforts to rectify the situation were noteworthy. They promptly addressed the oversight with the kids' pho and graciously compensated with a complimentary coconut pandan lemonade, which was a refreshing end to our meal.
Ginger and Lemongrass truly stands out not just for its authentic and flavorful dishes, but also for its dedication to customer satisfaction. The packed house is a testament to its popularity and the quality of its offerings. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Vietnamese dining experience in Whitestone. Their commitment to flavor, service, and a genuine dining experience is evident in every dish and interaction.
I order take out from them almost every week. Every menu item I’ve tried is delicious (pho, spring rolls, sandwiches, vermicelli bowls, curry, cocktails), they always get the order right and they package it so it’s still hot on arrival. Prices are very reasonable too.
Amazing food and vibes!!
Chicken pho was mediocre
i love coming here. the thai curry is so good. wish i lived closer id be here every week

Pandan lychee lemonade was an acquired taste, unfortunately did not like it. However, as someone who has had a lot of summer shrimp rolls, this place had the most disappointing shrimp roll. Smallest flavorless shrimp completely overpowered by the sour vinegar soaked vegetables, and the rice paper was hard in some spots. Small portion, the peanut sauce was okay- definitely have had better though. Will definitely stick to Flushing for Asian food, learned my lesson.
5 star all the way for this place. It’s been my to go for Vietnamese 🥘 for years now! Never disappointed!! Everything is alway so fresh, tasty & incredibly delicious.
The ambience is also so cosy, warm & welcoming same as the waiters!
Their spicy lemongrass soup can make a man religious. Just try it for yourself and get a large.
great food
The food was delicious, I loved the beef pho and I would recommend as an appetizer the Summer rolls they are very good. All the soups have good flavor
Bone Marrow Steak Tartare! INCREDIBLE! One of the best surprise we've had in a long time!
This is the best pho I have ever eaten! Flavors are so authentic, delicious and service is exceptional! Everyone that works here cares about the customers. That’s what brings me back.
Bland questionable food paired with underwhelming service.
Great food great staff my entire family love this place
Food was exceptional and came out quickly we got the lemongrass tofu banh mi and beef pho
Actually I like the food in ginger but I didn’t like the service, especially the attitude of the latin guy server. And his english totally broken, I didn’t understand what he said and he didn’t understand what I was asking about.
The beef soup has no real bone broth. Instead of using Thai basil they use red onion which isn’t good
Healthy and delicious!
Beautiful place. The best Pho spot I've been to and I will definitely be coming back. The Vietnamese Coffee was amazinnnnggg! The Beef Pho was so delicious and the broth has so much flavor. Everything was perfect down to the ginger and lemongrass water lmao! The Summer Rolls were great as well.
Definitely a must try place. Deserves to be packed out. When I went my table was the only one but honestly I see no reason why.
Been coming here for years, had some of the best pho and bahn mi here but service has been deteriorating every visit. My last visit they refused to do any substitutions even if I pay extra like I did countless times before saying the kitchen doesn’t know how to substitute. They also increased the distance between the chairs and table so it’s easier to sit but harder to eat without bending your back. If you move the table 2 inches closer, the host will come up and say you can’t do that because of the aesthetics and how all the tables need to be perfectly assigned.
Honestly the quality of the food has gone down. I’ve been coming here for years and the last couple of years the food has been subpar. Much blander than before especially the soups. Still ok but no longer top notch pho anymore like it used to be at first
Really delicious and fresh flavors. Great cocktails too!
Service take advantage of customers specially when it’s time to pay the bill. They tend to keep your change without asking! When you don’t give them a tip that they think they deserve they walk away with an attitude. Watch your recipe,!
Great consistent experience always, Very inviting and friendly Staff, tasty food
Food is decent, but serve a little for the price they charge. Also service is terrible. Chinese waitress is very rude. I don't think Vietnamese made the food. I would NOT recommend this place.
pretty mid
Beautiful place to go to for a first date! The vibes and the food are so good, and you’ll able to get lots of food for a good price as well!
The previous location was my go-to for pho. Became such a big disappointment after the move.
Soup is room temperature that my veggies and beef slices are still raw. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and went again after a few months and requested extra hot soup and still came room temperature.
You have to dine here…This place has incredibly well thought-out delicious dishes. Quite possibly my #1 all time favorite place to eat. Next-level sophisticated fusions of brilliant thought out plates, where the ingredients are always fresh, ambience is tasteful and eloquent, and staff has always taken exceptional care of my party and I. Lastly, must say this is a great date spot. Literally got
hungry for their menu just writing this review. Always a reliable, winning dining experience in all ways!

We made a reservation for Mother’s Day weeks before the date. When we got to the restaurant we were seated in the back corner right in front of the kitchen and restrooms. We were so close to them that one of our chairs was even blocking the stairs to the kitchen. We asked for a better seating esp since we made a reservation ahead of time but the host declined it even with a huge empty table in the main dining area. He said that was reserved for another reservation. (I guess there are reservations that are more important than others.) There was no apology for the poor service—the host kept repeating himself that it was the only table available for us. If you plan to go here for a special occasion please reconsider. You might have to sit right in front of the kitchen and restrooms.
Really good pho!
Solid place. Good cuisine, friendly service. Would come back!
My favorite!
The Pho here is really amazing. Vermicelli bowls are also very good. They have a variety of proteins to choose from (beef and chicken are my favorites). We’ve had take-out and dine-in, both were great. I just hope they never change the recipe for their soup!
Great food, great restaurant.
One of my favorite restaurants around here, always the best quality of food & fast service, thank you 🥰
The best soup!!!!!
I always pickup soup coconut spicy lemongrass, excellent!

Ironically Good!
We came here for a friend’s birthday at the whitestone location. Reservation for a party of 8 was at 7: 00 PM. Upon seating, the waiter came by approximately 10 minutes later to take our drink order. 35 minutes later, the drinks finally came. Unfortunately, they messed up 3 drinks and even after that, it took them another 25 minutes to bring out new ones. When they came with the drinks, they told me they didn’t have my drink. It took an hour to get that results, and change my drink. We are now approaching 8 PM, server has not taken our order yet, shortly after 8 PM, the another waiter came to take the order. Around 8:20 PM, the food came and to our surprise, it was absolutely delicious. This absolutely redeemed the poor service we experienced so far! Finally, for desert, they brought out a complementary birthday desert with a candle and apologized for the poor service.
Verdict: Overall, this establishment offers a very nice ambience, and though we experienced poor service, they were able to redeem themselves with both the delicious food and the presentation of the desert which was absolutely delicious. I would give it one more chance!
Ordered the beef pho and didn't enjoy a single bite of it. Soup bland and cold. Beef so tough. Terrible noodle texture. Very small portion. Didn't even get the usual side veggies that is served with pho at every Vietnamese restaurant.
I really don't understand the great reviews. Can't depend on ratings anymore.
Server spilled soup on my brand new jacket and totally ignored it. I will always remember this place whenever I wear the jacket cuz the greasy stain is not coming off!
Came here twice. Once for their Beef Pho &second time was for their Coconut Lemongrass Soup.
The servers were kind and thorough with the menu, food came out quick.
The place has a nice green scenery, cute lunch spot!
I highly recommend their Coconut Lemongrass Soup over their Beef Pho. If you enjoy a nice soup on a cold winter day &you're in Whitestone, try it out
pho is bussin
Top 5 Pho spots in NyC
Best Pho soup! Service was better when owners or management was present. Cocktails were minimal and not worth it. Even after saying it’s not good, they didn’t care. Stick with bottled beer.
Great food, cozy decor! The wait staff is exceptional! Definitely recommend the Ube cheesecake!!!
Went for lunch today amazing place amazing food and amazing stuff def will be back again
Don’t go this place. I just went there for lunch with my family and they asked us to move to an another table because a new group of Asians people arrived the restaurant.
Super bad experience!
I’ve been coming here for a few years now and every time I come back this place gets better! The food is great, the service is always wonderful, and every time I come back the interior has been upgraded. Beef pho and coconut lemongrass soup are my favorites. Every time I come here I know I’m going to eat well and be served well.
Really good food.
Our waiter was the best. Also add the bone marrow! We’ll be back. Only downside is that the meat may need to be cooked a little extra to avoid issues the next day.
Best pho in NYC
Great portion and taste yummy!
Great Vietnamese spot. There chicken pho was delicious. Great service
Food is Slammin' !!!!!
Service Great 👍
Always forget just How good the food is
Been coming here for a while. I work in Hospitality, Service is always great, and it was today aswell. However; there is a HUGE issue with the Food (Especially any of their Phō’s) that has been consistent. The Pho never comes out Steaming Hot the way classic Vietnamese Pho is meant to be served. Instead it comes out Luke Warm. This happened to me the last time I visited so I made sure to ask one of the servers to make sure the Chef made my Pho Broth Steaming Hot. The Latino Waiter was great and even asked me how my meal was after he noticed I was disappointed and left without eating a single bite. Service is fine but whoever is preparing the Pho, is either inexperienced or just straight up Lazy. He/she HAS to make sure it’s Hot. Luke Warm Pho is not only gross, but inedible to true Pho Lovers. Been coming here for a while and this is the second time in a row this happened so it’s definitely not only an extreme disappointment; but I will most likely never come here again. I bring friends here all the time too and i’m a Local so… but this was by far one of the most disappointing experiences i’ve ever had at a Restaurant that I had true faith in. My best friend had the Five Spices Brisket Sandwich, and he loved it. This place may be good for Sandwiches, but in terms of Pho…. 0 Stars. The Male Server was honestly the star of the show.
I had the lemongrass chicken and vermicelli with a great tasting mineral cucumber
Water. The whole meal was mouth watering made to perfection. Each complimented each other. I was completely happy and satisfied. Staff were polite and professional and worked quickly. Sat me quick and meal was quickly served.
This is the best spot that service pho. I’ve been coming here for a while now and it never disappoints. I tried other places they do not come close to what this place offers. I normally get the spicy lemongrass beef pho I tried them all brisket, sliced eye round, poached egg I even had the curry soup just to see its good as well but the lemongrass one is the best. Highly recommend trying this pho spot don’t knock until you’ve had it.
The coconut spicy lemongrass soup is amazing. Creamy, spicy, warm. Plenty of noodles. The shrimp is juicy and succulent. Add the mushrooms and bok choy and if nothing else PEASE squeeze two lime wedges over the soup. The lime really enhances the already flavorful soup. The summer rolls are also plump and the shrimp and mango are yummy and fresh. The peanut sauce just takes it to the next level. The infused water is delicious. I’ve had the coconut lemonade which had an interesting taste initially ( and the slightly off putting green color) but I ended up really liking it.
The service is quick and polite. They come by to fill up your water and check in on you without hovering. They also have a pretty decent sized menu with main courses, sandwiches, bowls, and soups.
The layout and decor is all really cute with the light fixtures and the plants. It’s just so nice and inviting. This place is great. I’ve gone twice in one week and now I’m interested in trying some more items on the menu. Delicious!
La comida muy deliciosa 😋
Best soup I've had in a very long time!👍 The purple cheesecake was delicious 😋
I absolutely love this place. The location, interior, and amazing food!
This is one of my favorite restaurants and the owner is super attentive! Every time I come in and he’s there, he stops by and greets me. The pho is also phenomenal!
Ube cheesecake is very good
The atmosphere and food was rustic and delectable.
Their pho is pretty good but their drinks aren’t. I was confused how that happened too but I highly suggest trying their noodles.
very good!!!
I've been coming here since they started in a little spot. Food has always been exceptional. Now they have 3 locations. Don't forget the fried chicken and shrimp spring rolls, Thai curry, ask for extra spicy
Want to go back and try another dish ! Have lunch specials too. There was no waiting for table in the late afternoon!
Rating this off of my most recent Uber eats experience. The green curry with chicken was so bad. The chicken tasted so old and the whole order lacked any kind of taste. On top of that, the spring rolls came with some rotten lettuce. I don’t understand what changed with this place. They used to be so good and they lost their touch.
Food is ok not something that I would crave for
Best pho ice ever had
Omg...a friend recommended Ginger & Lemongrass a while back, and I really don't know what took us so long to check it out. Seriously regretting all the time missed having this amazing food, lol. The staff was friendly and so patient with us as we figured out what we wanted to try. The sweet & spicy chicken wings were a great start to the meal. Tom had the mouthwatering pork belly sandwich, and I had the absolutely delicious red curry (with chicken). The 5 spices beef brisket Pho was amazing!!! Unfortunately, we had no room for dessert, but the portions were generous enough that we were able to take home lunch for the next day. I had the ginger & lemongrass cocktail and I have to say...the ginger flavor paired unbelievably well with the flavors of the curry and the pho. One of our new favorites...so many more dishes to try!
Always delicious food with great service. One of my go tos!
3 of us went in to get a drink and the staff in there were bullying us, asking us unnecessary questions. This is NOT our first time getting that drink in there or at any other restaurant. They were both so disgustingly rude with their commentary. You had no customers in your restaurant and now I get why. Good riddance b!
Everything in this restaurant is TOP TIER. Best pho I’ve ever had in a long time. Yellow curry hands down AMAZING!!!!!!
This place has an amazing vibe. They put a lot of detail into the looks of the dishes, the tea pot and tea cups, the bamboo chairs and all the greenery. Ugh, such a great place for a date.
I came here for the first time to celebrate a friends birthday and they gave us a birthday candle on the ube cheesecake (delicious btw)
Food was not that great. Very disappointing.
Nice Pho for the neighborhood. There summer rolls are also excellent. Food leans on more of the expensive end for the neighborhood, but you pay for quality. The amount of beef is also generous in each bowl of Pho. Food always comes out pretty promptly, but there has been once or twice where it's take longer than usual. Too many take out orders during lunch can do that.
Service is prompt and courteous. They also serve water infused with cucumber, lime snd mint leaves. My wife always likes to request the bean sprouts to be pre cooked for her pho and the restaurant is always willing to accommodate.
Order the summer rolls, beef pho and dalgona coffee. Good consistent pho noodles restaurant that can be part of a lunch rotation.
Their papaya salad is not vegan contains fish sauce
Love this place! I love the pork bao buns, curry, vermicelli bowls, Thai iced tea, summer rolls, ube cheesecake and the staff is always so kind.
Service is good. But the food isn't fresh. The cucumber is so hard when I ordered the vermicli it's outrageous. The atmosphere is good. And the pho is great.
Delicious food, delicious drinks, and very friendly service. One of if not the best soup of my life here (spicy coconut lemongrass) and I also had a taro latte soooo good you won’t regret coming here
Delicious food. Good for take out. Everyone is nice. The PHO is really good. Recommend the spicy one if you wanna blow your socks off, it's really good!
If I could go here everyday I would. Service was great. Drinks and food were amazing 10/10
I like their food but they reduced amount of the meat after they moved to the new place. So disappointed
😁👍
Delicious food great service they take good care of you, definitely will be back.
Love there beef poo soup and also the shrimp soup
Meets expectations, decent pho
Our food took about 20 minutes to be served after we ordered. The mussels with curry were pretty good. The Banhn mi sandwich was average. The grilled pork wasn't grilled but more like stewed. It was not the typical style we were expecting. We had curry chicken, but the chicken was completely burned black, which wasn't good.
Food good but not cheap.
I am addicted to their yellow curry. It’s becoming a serious problem. BEYOND DELICIOUS!!!!
Where quality and quantity meet.
Came here for lunch with two friends and loved it!!
Decor is super cute , waitress was very friendly and helpful with offering recommendations on what to get as it was my first time there. I can’t wait to go back and try some more items!
I had Spicy lemongrass soup and Thai iced tea - soup was so flavorful and the Thai iced team was delish 10/10 for both
We ordered the tumeric tea pot to share at the table and that was so good we ordered to go as well.
For appetizers the lemongrass chicken and scallion pancakes were tasty as well 9/10 for both
Nice and clean dining area. Attentive staff. Ordered spring rolls and chicken wings for appetizer. Rolls were great: crispy shell and flavorful filling. Wings were cooked great, but they had a barbecue flavor that tasted a bit too sweet. Had the beef pho with roasted marrow. The gelatin from the marrow, mixed into the broth, made for a super savory soup with noodles cooked perfectly al dente. The broth could have been a bit hotter, though.
Bone marrow and yellow curry were delicious
Food was delicious. Passion tea was amazing. Parking was difficult.
Excellent all around. Huge portions. Muni parking meters.
OMG! I was really shocked. They even gave us food left over from other guests. I saw that this lemon was used, but I haven't used it yet. so i took pictures. I thought at first, hmm. It doesn't matter. But they didn't even say sorry. Just gave us another plate, put it down, turned around and left. I've been here many times and it's good, but maybe the food is not good. Maybe in the future I'll worry if my food is someone else's food.
Really authentic Vietnamese pho made by Slovakian chef it's so mind blowing!
This place is amazing- been going here since their first hole in the wall shop opened. So flavorful and consistent.
I visit a lot and this is my number 1 favorite pho spot!
The flavors are amazing.. first time cant wait to be back.
Good vietnamese fusion.
Update:
You HAVE to try their spicy coconut lemongrass soup. I get it with chicken and it's the best soup especially on a cold day.. but really it's delicious any time you visit! Make sure you save room for their Ube Cheesecake!
My favorite Vietnamese restaurant since my last one favorite disappeared. Their pho is delicious and the rice vermicelli bowl is flavorful and fresh!
This place rocks!! Go here!!
Purple cheese cake was so good . . . .
My wife and I had our first date here and just keep coming back because the food is consistently good. I just had wings and a mixed pho and she had the spicy lemongrass soup. The drink menu has an amazing selection I had never tried b4. The butterfly pea tea became a staple in my house shortly after having it here for the first time. Also the taro latte is really good and ube cheesecake.
All the food was amazing!! Loved the Lavender Butterfly P tea, it's a must get!!
Cozy place with good service. We got the beef pho which was good but had too much flavor from the greens, it’s intense and overwhelming to finish the dish. Beef quality is okay. We added bok choy and mushrooms for additional $2. And didn’t see the mushrooms in the soup lol. We enjoyed summer rolls. Overall “okay” experience.
I don’t know how they got so much good reviews.
I would of give no star if available.
Don’t waste your precious time and hard earned money in this restaurant.
I have been eating Vietnamese food for over 30 years. And this is absolutely the worst and worst experience.
We waited one hour for our food to come on Friday night, which they only have approximately 6 tables.
My friend ordered chicken curry with white rice. The chicken is so so so over cooked, you feel like chewing rubberband, and the curry sauce is tasteless.
I ordered pho noodle soup. The noodle is melting(way over cooked) in the greasy and tasteless soup.
A little expensive. Their Banh mi is delicious
Excellent pho and cocktails
Expensive for a small bowl of pho with pull pork smh, only thing I liked was spring roll. Summer roll isn’t good because they put too much pickled vegetables which over power the roll.
Do not recommend.
Go to a authentic pho place for a big hearty bowl of heaven!!
Nice place to eat
