I understand that prices can vary and that some ingredients are more expensive than others, but paying $16 for such a small portion with so few shrimp seems exaggerated and out of place. I expected that for that price, the restaurant would be more generous with the shrimp, especially in a dish where they are the main attraction.

In conclusion, my experience at Thai Ashburn was a great disappointment. While the taste of the rice was acceptable, the number of shrimp and the portion size do not justify the price I paid. I don't think I'll be visiting this restaurant again or recommending it to my friends and family unless they improve the balance between portion size and price. The value they place on their orders should be reflected in more generous and adequate portions.

Regarding the food- I have had the drunken noodles from this establishment in the past. The sauce for the noodles was spicy but had an odd sweetness to it. The chicken was not very flavorful, and slightly dry. Today, I had the shrimps in a blanket. Though they were slightly more oily than expected, they were satisfying. This is a good spot to grab a quick bite; I’d recommend the appetizers over the entrees. The entrees are priced higher than the quality served.

Regarding the service and atmosphere- The waiter was very kind! Service was quick and attentive. The restaurant itself is quite dark on the inside. The interior is quite dull, and the music is on a radio station (so an ad will play from time to time). I’d recommend ordering takeout instead of dining in if possible.

I used to live in Ashburn and would call for delivery at least once a week. I brought my granddaughter in the other evening while I was in town, and she enjoyed the food as much as I always had. The people are warm and welcoming, and the food is consistently good. Now my granddaughter and I have a new tradition when I come to town. Thai Ashburn!

This is our go-to Thai restaurant in Ashburn. My family just gathered there for a family birthday celebration. The food is always fresh and flavorful. The portions are very generous. Everything is delicious!

Lunch Special #5 w/soup

Thai Garden was INCREDIBLE. Looking at my new dish from here on out.

Drunken Noodles - very good. Brought the heat and sweet at the same time.

Soup - warm and pleasing, just as soup should be.

Again, Thai Garden was incredible. Chicken lightly marinated and tender. Vegetables seasoned to perfection, subtle not overpowering.

The food has an odd twist to it that I haven't seen in other Thai restaurants. Nothing major, maybe an odd ingredient not native to Thailand, but overall still very good and the portions are pretty decent compared to others in the area for the same price.

The service is fine, the staff polite, but that atmosphere leaves something to be desired. For most people though this is a fine spot with good food.

I absolutely recommend trying here because the food is always delicious and service is just impeccable atmosphere needs improvement as there is boxes every where. Overall I highly recommend then place if your in Ashburn.

Not what it used to be

If you are looking for quick thai food, this can be the place. However if you also want quality, I might not recommend this place. This place is saltier on their dishes, and have more sugar added to their seasoning.
Also their price for the soup was steep, as the soup was a smaller bowl than anticipated, and they did not offer a larger option (didn't have larger option) the one size was smaller than a small to go cup.

Although we were able to make a reservation for 12, which was our goal, the food there was disappointing. The owners were nice, but we are probably not going to go back since their food quality wasn't the best and was way too salted and sugared.

Large parking plaza shared with other stores, and not too busy at all when we went for dinner time Sunday.

I personally did not pick up the food and so I'm not sure about thier customer service therefore my ratings have nothing to do with thier service. My sister picked the food up and she mentioned that they were rude to her. Since I wasn't there I don't think it's fair for me to rate them. I gave them 4 stars solely based on the food. I ordered the drunked noodles and they were good. I wasn't really impressed but at the same time as mentioned they were good. All in all a good place to have a decent meal.

I had lunch here today (12-06-22), Thai fried rice with chicken and Spring Rolls for appetizer. The food was great, hot and delicious as always and the server was very polite and friendly. I most certainly will be back.

I don’t know what happened but something in the kitchen must’ve changed. We used to like this place but on our most recent visit we were so disappointed. The spring rolls were bad, no flavor & not hot on the inside and came out with a cold duck sauce or something. My husband got the Drunken Noodles they were too saucy, bad flavor. My Chicken Pad Thai wasn’t horrible but it definitely wasn’t as good as it used to be. We haven’t eaten here in over a year cause we left the area but unfortunately we won’t be back. It’s not worth it to pay $16 a plate & it not be delicious.

We went to this restaurant to celebrate our job colleague/ friend bday. Their ambiance are amazingly beautiful, food is delicious and Thai tea ☕️ was my first time and we all loved it. Staff are very friendly and courteous. We enjoyed the day, we will definitely go again.

I was recommended to try this place out! I literally love like 5 minutes away and I can't believe I've never tried Thai Ashburn before! Since my first visit, this place has been my go to whenever I'm craving Thai food. Food is pretty good compared to other thai restuarants I've tried, and the prices are affordable ~ what a steal! I highly recommend their Crispy Basil Duck, Tom Yum Soup, and Panang Curry!

Okay seriously the worst Thai restaurant I've been to in this area. Was looking for a new place to try and they had great reviews, so I went in with high hopes. Not only is the service awful. Our waiter left while we were eating to make a delivery. The manager was on a personal call the whole time even when serving us. Just not a great experience. The food was not authentic either and not worth the price. Definitely will not go here again.

Service takes forever some times, but if you’re not in too big of a rush, great local Thai spot. Food is consistently great!

OMG SOOOO YUMMY!!! I had ordered for dinner the Thai Garden with beef, pork, and chicken, and i did mild Spicy, left a lovely coating of heat in my mouth for a bit, was so delicious, seasoned perfectly, the crispy tofu was perfect, i have been craving crispy tofu during the quarantine and it has finally been satisfied! MANGO STICKY RICE WAS PERFECTLY SWEET AMD DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! it is taking alot of self control to not eat my husbands mango sticky rice! BEST THAI FOOD IN NOVA. This place is very flavorful, quick, and is always served hot - even on takeout! The portion sizes are also great, my boyfriend and I used to share but it's so good that we now enjoy getting our own and eating half then saving the rest for lunch. I order the chicken pad thai w/o spice and mango sticky rice. The drunken noodles, fried rice, and panang chicken are my families favorite as well. If you are looking for authentic thai food, this is your place!

Fantastic Massaman Curry!

Spicy basil rice were cold with cold chicken in it, rice were hard not properly cooked. Felt like we were served yesterday's left over food.Had to call waiter to show her that the rice are cold. With apology she took the rice back and bring back some rice which were same and made wet this time. Over all pathetic food, wont suggest anyone to go there. Felt embarrassed with guest.

My sister raved about the food at this place so we went to go have it yesterday (2/4/20) We sat down, ordered our food and the waitress helped us in a timely manner. Our food came out, one dish was incorrect, we pointed it out and the waitress went and corrected our order. The food was actually really good and this was going to be our new go to spot for Thai food. Towards the end, we split the check. One check was signed while I was signing the other. The waitress rushed to us and picked up the check (while we are still sitting there) and She became confrontational ‘why no tip???’ In a very nasty attitude and combative manner. I said, well look at the second check... which she picked up right away. She said ‘oh’ and left. We walked out with the most shocked look in our faces. Never have we ever been treated like this or experienced anything like this where a server runs to your table while you’re still sitting to see how much tip was left so they can fight you on it.
We are never coming back. Is this how you treat your customers? She needs proper training. She’s very rude and she should not be serving customers with this nasty attitude. She is running your customers away. Beware of this greedy lady.

Got the classic pad Thai, asked for it mild and trusted them to be mild. But alas red pepper flakes everywhere, needless to say this b is spicy AF. If I didn’t eat spicy food it would of probably spoiled my dinner plans. Nonetheless, I was not expecting to eat this much ice along with my dinner. Not happy.

I specifically asked to make my dish meat free, and I still found chicken in my noodles. They can't follow simple instructions. Never going here again.

This used to be a fav place for me but yesterday had a bad experience.
When I entered, the waitress from the other side of the restaurant shouted, what do you want ? (Can you believe!).. I thought I didnt hear properly but she repeated the same again. We thought may be she doesn’t speak english well, ignore it for the good food :) We ordered fried rice and tum yum soup. The rice was very oily. The basil fried rice was too spicy and salty. The tum yum soup sweet and not at all tasting good. I told the waitress, she then brought the spice tray !!.. end up not touching the soup.
Not going back here again.

Their food is always 5 stars. But recently we had an encounter that left us a sour taste. The waitress automatically charged us 18% service fee while we have 5 people (3 young kids). The waitress did not inform us beforehand, also not a smile or please from her. The other female server also always looks unhappy. We dread to go back again.

We've been going here for several years, and have never been disappointed. I particularly like that they don't automatically assume that non-asians want the spiciness toned down. They do allow patrons to specify the heat level if that's a concern.

We’ll take our business somewhere else, there’s a lot of Thai restaurants to choose from with better customer service and much better food than this restaurant.
