Never coming back. We went for the first time, and we’re still in disbelief about what just happened. We ordered Beef Pad Thai and Chicken Curry, but we couldn’t eat anything because of the horrible smell of the Pad Thai. I couldn’t even try it because the odor was so strong and unpleasant. My husband had two bites and stopped. We were going to split the Chicken Curry, but the overwhelming smell from the Pad Thai was just too much.

The waitress might have noticed something was off since we weren’t eating and asked if we wanted boxes. We agreed, paid the bill, and received the boxes with the untouched food, which we literally threw out in the garbage on our way to the car.

I kept thinking I should have said something, but I was in such a state of shock that I couldn’t think clearly. The whole experience lasted less than five minutes, from when they brought the food to when we got the boxes and the check. The appetizer, the curry puff, was okay, but we ended up stopping and grabbing food somewhere else afterward.

The area is very relaxing. The Thai food is just ok when compared to other places. The highlight is the bbq chicken dish; the fire presentation is awesome.

Really enjoyed our experience at this Thai restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was really nice also. I had vegan Massaman Curry with tofu and a salad. Both were very flavorful. I really enjoyed the sweet and spicy flavor of this massaman. Overall it was great and I’d definitely go back.

Kanom jeeb was okay, the filling was good but it was a bit hard on the outside. The place itself had a nice vibe. Overall, a good spot if you’re craving Thai food. Would definitely go again to try out other dishes.

11/16/23 - This was our first visit to Pru Thai. My wife and I both ordered Pad Thai (chicken for her / shrimp for me) which was good. Soup or salad is included with the entrees. There is no on-site parking but we were able to find on-street parking nearby.

Great Thai food place with reasonable pricing. Mostly do takeout orders for dinner and the wait is never too long for the food and the bag is always filled with the correct order, utensils, napkins, and hot food!!! 10/10 would recommend, excellent place!!

When I called to place an order, I was put on hold and then hung up on. I called again, and the same lady acted like she didn't talk to me 5 minutes ago. Food: The Pru Thai Combo was OK. I liked the rocket shrimp and my husband liked the way the beef satay was seasoned. The vegetable spring rolls tasted like the prefrozen ones and the kanom jeeb were our least favorite. Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups were good and the level 3 spicy was pretty spicy. The beef salad was unimpressive, with huge chunks of beef and hardly any salad. We ordered it a level 2 spicy and it was not spicy at all (we have a super high tolerance for spice though). His pork pad thai was good, but when he asked if it had tofu, the lady said no (most places add the meat and automatically have tofu). There was some tofu in it, but luckily, he didn't have to pick out too much. My chicken tamarind was nice, but the sauce was a bit too watery and when I heated up the leftovers the next day, the breading became super mushy (yuck!). We probably won't order here again since we know of a much better place nearby.

Went there for lunch this week with my husband and dad, who's visiting from Costa Rica and we had a horrible experience, the food was extremely spicy, (been here several times, I know the spice) and they automatically charged us a 18% tip when confronted she said she would take it off and no apology was given. Check your receipt always!

I had this as a five-star, but the service and food have gone way down hill. Now, we had 3 people and they tried to sneak an 18% tip on after WAY over spicing our food. Never going again.

They are very deceptive with their billing. They mentioned they will be including gratuity for 5 people and above. They still did that for our party of 3 adults and 1 child. That is 18% + tax on that tip is included in the bill. They still present their final billing with space for tips. Lot of folks around Clinton are aging, they might not expect these tricks and might double tip. I also felt quite rushed. They have a preference for their clientele, I will stay away from now on. Food was decent, but overall unpleasant experience.

Had the volcano chicken infused in rum, and it was very good.

I want to start off with I do not normally like give bad Google reviews but this time I just had to say something and voice my opinion. I have never felt more rushed or felt more unwanted in a restaurant in my life. When my family came into the place, it was completely empty. The server told us to take a seat anywhere took a while for us to get our menus as well. Other people came in to pick up orders and to order stuff to go and it seem like it was more of a priority for her to attend them then attend us. It took maybe 10 mins for us to get a menu and water the food came pretty quickly, but again the server was more involved with people who are taking food to go then helping us that we’re sitting down other people started coming in to sit down and and was helping those customers instead of us again. When it came to getting the check, I asked for it and she stood there until I gave her a card. It was completely embarrassing and completely inappropriate. The food was OK , I’ve had better Thai food. The problem here is the service and being a woman of a certain ethnicity, I felt very discriminated against. If I’m ever in town again, I will not be wasting my money here.

The menus were clear to read with an interesting Specials menu. What's good is that you can add whatever protein you like to your selection. We started with Pru Thai Combo - a selection of appetizers sufficient for 3 people. BYOB so we had water, sprite and Earl Grey Tea. 3 Main courses were Chicken Rama
(Crispy sliced chicken breast over steamed veggies topped with peanut sauce) , Chili Noodle & calamari, shrimps, scallops & mussels. (Stir fried flat noodle with egg, roasted chili sauce, peppers and onions.) & Pad Thai with Pork
(Traditional Thai noodles stir fried with egg, bean sprout, green onion & chopped peanut.)
I like spice and fish - so the Chili Noodle was extraordinary - and the ladies loved the Chicken Rama.
oh - the Thai Bread was an excellent side - 2 for 3 people is a good portion.
Make your own meal - and enjoy it in a pleasant little town with 2 coffee shops and 2 ice cream shops within walking distance.

Midnight duck was one of the best duck entrees I’ve ever had; Tasteful, crisp skin, not too fatty. Great environment, indoor/ outdoor seating, great service. A great find.

My dining partner and I had an excellent meal here.

We both had the Tom yum soup which we both found to be excellent. It was a little spicy but for my taste it was not overspiced. I just wanted to pick up the bowl and drink the whole thing down.

My dining partner had the drunken man noodles and I had the working man noodles. We both found them to be excellent. I highly recommend this place if you're in the Clinton area.

Very good food and attentive staff. It's a staple restaurant in an area that's known to be very competitive when it comes to dining options. Can't go wrong with pretty much any item on the menu and pricing is very fair.

I really like this Thai restaurant. It is close to work so sometime I go here for lunch or after work for dinner. I have eaten here for years. I really like their Tom Yum soup with Shrimp, very aromatic. I also normally have the Chicken Rama which is wonderful and has the best peanut sauce I have ever tasted. Very flavorful with a hint of sweetness. The chicken is thinly sliced breast meat and fried very crispy, not tempura but close. Service can be a bit slow, especially if their are a lot of patrons. Parking is all parallel on the street behind the storefront, but I have never had an issue finding a spot to park. The quality and taste of the food more than makes up for this.

Had Rocket Shrimp some soup, squid salad and Tia bread. Shared all with a friend and we both took home excess food. Prices are very reasonable bordering on cheap in today's world. Will be eating there again.

The red seafood curry only had 2 shrimps and it was watery. Other than that it was salty. The spoons and forks looked unclean and our table was dirty with crumbs on seat and table possibly from the day before. It was so unprofessional and obnoxious for the waitress to come back to us and tell us to leave a bigger tip in front of other restaurant guest. Some people come to a restaurant and don't leave a tip at all. It was extremely rude.

I've been going to Pru Thai for almost 5 years now and it remains one of my favorite restaurants. Everything I've tried is really, really good. I actually crave their Crying Tiger Beef, Shrimp Pad Thai and Basil Chicken. You can't go wrong though, the whole menu rocks!!!

Adequate but neither great nor bad. People were nice. Food flavor was underdeveloped. I had drunken noodles that, if they had been fried for another couple minutes could have developed more umami. Instead, they seemed rushed.

The Pad Preow Wan is really good. I also recommend the pineapple fried rice. If you want spicy get the crying tiger.

I ordered 2 chicken curries to go and the food was horrible, no chicken just water and peppers

They refused to give me a refund when I brought back my order which contained a huge dead insect. It's totally disgusting and I will never return.

We love this place and the food. When we came in for a table of two they put us right by the door and it was a cold night. I asked to be moved and was told I'd have to wait until her boss is done with her meeting and walked away. My wife asked another server if we could sit at one of the empty tables in the middle of the room, she said absolutely and quickly moved us. I don't know why the server was so rude and didn't look around for a solution.

Always a Disappointment!
The front end Asian lady calls her self 'Bell' she take orders wrong every single time and then gladly blames it on you every time!
We ordered lunch - dinner sized, level 2 spice Pad Thai, which they made zero spice and very very sweet and no spice level as it was indicated - when I called to ask they said ohh we forgot she said first then she gladly tried to blamed me that I did not mention - when I clearly mentioned twice - then she asked me to bring the entrée back so spend time and gas drive to their location and bring food back so that ' they can fix it'!! All they needed to do was apologize or say they can remake it but no they are horrible cheap people owning a business in our beautiful Clinton town.

Second incidence, was before few weeks when we ordered three lunch entrees and she again the same great 'Front-desk Asian lady' took the order again wrong - put all entrees as Dinner and charged us more money - their cheap trick to get more money. When we complained that we are ordering at lunch time and we wanted lunch entrée without asking us how can proceed to order dinner and make us pay more!! She with a mean look - no customer service here - (learn your customer skills lady) - goes and empty's more than half of the food from our lunch so only few strings of noodle in the Pad-thai and one spoon-full curry in the red curry remains - all rest is taken out and gives us that messed up container to take!!! seriously Pathetic cheap money ripping people.. you are collecting bad reputation.

Third incident - we ordered 4 entrees with different spice levels from 1 to 3 stars - they made it all way beyond edible super spicy. That none of us could even touch this food and we are used to spicy food but this was inedible. Again no sorry no customer service - your money down the drain. Not going back here and I will post this reviews over over and till they learn a lesson.

We live and work in Town of Clinton from many years and this is a nuisance and their cheap bully behavior. I am going to complain about them to the township and post a review for them in all social media so they can shut down for good or may be improve customer service and order taking skills for good!!

Pru Thai is a community staple in Clinton. High quality, authentic and affordable it is a must try if you are in the area. There is something for everyone on the menu, plus it is BYOB.

This has been and always will be my favorite place to get thai. Whether it's take out or we sit down for a date night, Pru Thai always delivers excellent food and service. We go out of out way to get thai from here.

Duck salad was over fried. Pad Thai was over sauced and over blended. Minimal veggies and sauce. Duck chi chee was good.

We just try to call to take an order all the way back home but the staff was so rude!! She pick it up the phone and can’t even explain anything! I’ve been to many Thai restaurants And never met the staff like that before.

Good food, changed my mind about Thai food. Prices ain't bad either. But the parking can be iffy during popular dining hours.

Very fresh and very delicious!! We had Thai food for our wedding reception and like to eat it for our anniversary. This restaurant is exceptionally good!! We will be returning soon.

Consistently incredible food and excellent service! Have never been disappointed by any of the many meals I've eaten there over the last almost 20 years! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the staff friendly and efficient.

Chicken satay tasted good, the only thing I didn't like was the crying tiger I got. It was too tough and was not nearly spicy enough, but the chicken dish my friend had was tasty. So maybe next time I'll get something with chicken because those seem to be very good here.

I had a take out order for Tamrind chicken, soup and papaya salad. For $16 Tamarind Chicken was a very small portion with morsels of steamed vegetables, barely enough for a kid.
Manager was more curious about how much tip I had put for a take out. I guess every one is struggling these days.

The worst service in the entire region. I travel all over the country and never in my life have I seen anyone be so rude, obnoxious and inappropriate with a customer. I definitely felt uncomfortable seeing how rude the restaurant manager was. The food is just Ok, not bad, but there are better ones. I will never go back to this restaurant.

Horrible experience on Nov-5 at night. Watch out for the lady manager/owner, she chased me for the tip. I left a 5% tip for the usual round-up. She got back to the table and enforced on me the 15% - 20% "recommended tip". I talked to her and pretty much told me her employees needed it. I say raised prices and pay them hourly....and do not work on exploitation on employees. I would not eat in a place where employees are exploited. Anyway, I trust what she told me and I did not want to make a big deal so I pay her a 15% tip and hope that the owner will not take a cut on the tips.

This is pretty much our go-to in the area for take out. The food is always delicious. The staff is super friendly. Chicken satay is a hit with our two little ones, my husband loves the crying tiger, and I've bounced all over the menu and have yet to be disappointed.

My wife and I stopped in while visiting Clinton. It was a beautiful night so we were able to eat outside. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. I had the ginger duck and my wife had Pad Thai. We both enjoyed our meals and would return.

Drunken noodles were good, only complaint was the basil was a little aggressive. Friendly staff and nice restaurant.

We ordered chicken and the lady ended up giving us Tofu. And she didn’t even care to give us the spoons also. It was also very untidy . We were so upset with the service and ended up paying gratitude $10 even if we didn’t wanted to . Never ever recommend this to anyone .

Really Good!! I got the Papaya Salad and Pad Curry with calamari. I was so pleasantly surprised. The squid was tender and the sauce was light and delicious. The papaya salad was fresh and tasty :)

I hate to give a review like this. But the women who took my order on phone was so arrogant. She spoke with me very disrespectfully.

Was traveling through on a cross country route with my job and sought out a place to eat. Ladies and Gentleman you've hit the jackpot here! I enjoyed the chicken pad thai level 2 and my taste buds appreciated enticing flavors given to my pallet. I'll be back NJ and for this place, everytime!

One of my favorites, so far everything I've ordered has been fantastic. High quality and great service. Pad Thai, Massamun Curry, Spring Rolls, and Curry Puffs were all on par with the best I've ever had.
