Thai-Laos fusion kitchen.
My family and I don’t get over in this area often. But we were in the area to see our optometrist. Afterwards we were feeling a bit peckish. There are definitely favorite eateries in the area, but we wanted to try something new. On our way to our destination we passed by Thai Papaya. Thai food is so good, so my wife looked up the reviews and menu. Looked and sounded amazing. Plus they had chicken satay. Which is a favorite of my picky eating seven year old. We were greeted by a very nice and courageous woman, who seated us. She asked our drink order and gave us a menu to peruse over. Everything sounded amazing. She back for our order. I asked if they had drunken noodles. She said “of course” and proceeded to show me the Thai name for it. It was called pad kee mow. She asked me how hot from 1-5. Five being the hottest. I got it at a four and it was perfect. She seemed kind of surprised. My wife got the pineapple curry which was phenomenal and we got our son two orders of satay chicken. We will definitely be back. I can’t say one negative thing about it. Highly recommend!!!
We had Thai food at a number of restaurants in the area and decided to try out this new restaurant. The food was fantastic. We ordered the yellow curry and garlic broccoli along with the tum kha soup and summer rolls. Everything was just great. Probably one of the best Thai restaurants we’ve ever been too. In addition, the service was second to none. We’re definitely coming back to try other items from the menu.
We specifically drove the extra 10 minutes so make that we drove 20 minutes to a restaurant that had such high review ratings. There are lots of Thai restaurants with the rating of between 4.1 and 4.3 which didn’t sound especially appealing.
I must say that it was worth the drive and we will be making the drive in the future. Well worth it!
Went for dinner on a whim- felt like trying some place new to us. Smaller dining space, but definitely a lot of take-out business. We were greeted, sat, and drinks ordered within minutes. The Thai green tea was very good. The server returned in quickly with our drinks and took our orders. The food was out very quickly! I ordered the glass noodle dish with tofu at level 3 spiciness. It was great! Enough heat to make my nose run- it was very tasty and the tofu was cooked well. Definitely going to be back and try more dishes. Next will be a wide rice noodle dish!
We ate at this wonderful restaurant tonight. They opened just a week ago. Their Tum yum soup is fantastic. The flavors are very lovely. My husband had Salmon and it was excellent too. I wanted to try their sweet sticky rice and Mango was the best I have ever had. The staff is very sweet and helpful.
We had an amazing experience at Thai Papaya! We ordered the Thai Green Tea, Curry Fried Rice, and Mango with Sticky Rice, and everything was absolutely delicious. The Thai Green Tea was refreshing and had the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess—great for cooling down after a flavorful meal. The Curry Fried Rice was packed with rich, aromatic spices and had just the right level of heat, making it an instant favorite. And to top it all off, the Mango with Sticky Rice was a perfect dessert—fresh, sweet mango paired with warm, slightly chewy sticky rice and drizzled with coconut milk. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and bursting with authentic flavors. The service was friendly and efficient, making the whole dining experience even better. If you’re looking for great Thai food, Thai Papaya is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!
We just finished eating dinner at this restaurant and it was a wonderful experience . The kids enjoyed all the dinner options and flavor was great. Just advise you pay attention to the spice level because a 3 is considered spicy and it was. We will be coming back, this is now our family’s preferred Thai spot.
I am absolutely blown away by this restaurant! I stumbled upon this hidden gem about five months ago, and every single visit has been consistently AMAZING.
You can just tell this is authentic Thai cuisine. The flavors are fresh, bold, and absolutely addictive. The staff is incredibly friendly and always happy to adjust dishes to make them vegetarian. After many, many visits, I have yet to have a bad experience.
As for the food… the Lo Mein and Pineapple Fried Rice? Unreal. I physically cannot stop eating them. Send help.
Tried their Pad Thai while running errands in the area. They are now my go to Thai place! Highly recommend. Their crab rangoon were also amazing. Great service, very friendly. Highly recommend! I will be making excuses to be in the area so I can eat here more often.
We ate family style and shared over 10 dishes and all of them were good, compliments to the chef. We will be back!
Food is decent but this place is very pricey for the amount of food you get. 2 Tom yum soups $33 😳
The overall experience was OK. I ordered takeout. While the ingredients seemed fresh and the taste was decent, it was not particularly memorable. My main concern was the wait time. Despite receiving an estimated pickup time of 20–30 minutes in my confirmation email, my order was not ready upon arrival. I was informed it would take an additional 10 minutes, but I ultimately waited for almost an hour. The waiting area seating is limited and cramped, leaving many customers standing.

We tried Thai Papaya for the first time last night. We had a rice dish, noodle dish, and an entree.
I personally thought the food was great. Orange chicken was crispy, chicken herb fried rice had a ton of flavor and texture, and the pad see ew flavor was just what we wanted.
The only issue we had was we ordered based off the online menu descriptions of the meals instead of clicking into the menu item to see what can be excluded. (Called the order in). We were surprised to see bell peppers in 2 of the meals. They were slightly overpowering for the dishes unfortunately.
Just make sure you're ordering the way you want and checking what each meal contains. Highly recommend trying Thai Papaya.

Exceptional authentic Thai! We started with the Tum Kha soup and it was the best I’d ever had. Creamy, rich and full of flavor. Chicken satay was tender, flavorful and the peanut sauce was delicious. The yellow curry was amazing. It was rich, creamy and the vegetables were fresh and everything was cooked to perfection. The cashew stir fry was delightful as well. A well balanced dish of meat, nuts and fresh sautéed vegetables in a brown sauce. Portions are generous and we had plenty for the two of us plus left overs to bring home. We learned that the entire staff is a Thai family and that those cooking are from Thailand so the recipes are authentic. We will be back after we fight over the left overs.
Love the place, The food was delicious. Definitely we will visit again.
Best Thai food I have had in DFW
Ok, I don't leave reviews, but I have to this time. This was the best asian food I've had. The owner explained why: she makes the recipes and chooses her favorite ingredients even if they cost more. The recomendation to me was that over 40 people we know have eaten here and all really loved it. I loved it too and will return ASAP!
Very delicious food every time we come! Gracious, friendly owners and service!
Small overlooked restaurant serving great Thai & Laotian dishes. Generous portions and flavorful
We just had our first experience with this place and can report it was OUTSTANDING! We have eaten Thai curry all over this Country, in Alaska and Australia and this has to be the finest green curry taste anywhere. Atmosphere is so-so, but wow! I will be back soon...maybe tomorrow.
This is a family owned restaurant that that cooks everything from scratch. They are extremely friendly and the food is delicious. Their menu has several gluten-free options.
Great authentic Thai food. Everything is made in house with authentic ingredients. Not sweet like most Americanized Thai food. Level 5 spice is just right.
Today was my third visit since they opened 4 months ago. I love good Thai food! Today I had the crispy veggie roll appetizer - YUM!!! I ordered Pad See Eew with shrimp as my main dish, and let me tell you, the flavor was exceptional!! 🤤
The service, and all of the staff, is always amazing and so kind and personable. The pricing is very reasonable as well! SO happy to have this gem of a restaurant just a few minutes from where I live!
Their food is yummy!
Everyone in our group of 21 really enjoyed Thai Papaya! The food was delicious and came out surprisingly quickly considering our large party size. Workers were really friendly, clean environment, GF and vegan options. They were able to seat all of us and there were still tables for other customers - we were able to make a reservation. Will come back again!
First time to try this place. We ordered to go and will definitely be back.
Ordered Pad Thai with chicken, Chicken Satay, and Tom Kha soup with chicken. Everything was excellent. Better than any place in the area that we've tried.
This is my first time to try Thai food and I was very impressed. The food was fresh the vegetables look vibrant and the taste was amazing. I ordered veggies with fried tofu and steamed dumplings. My order was to go. It was package 12 and labeled and when I really liked as I got to pick my level of spice. This is my new favorite place.

Friendly staff serving reasonably priced, delicious Thai food. Great for takeout or eat-in.
Food is excellent!! Service is outstanding! The place is clean and the price is great. Highly recommend.
Everything was excellent, super tasty
Best pad thai in Dallas! Haven’t found this taste in a long time. Top favv
Outstanding everything! The food was SO delicious and the service was perfect. Yes I gave a 50% tip (rare for me).
Please come here and experience what I did: great curry with rice and beef, and pad Thai with beef. Yummmy!!
I'm definitely coming back here, and often!
The pad thai was good
We ordered for delivery. we ordered two appetizers: Eggs rolls and spareribs) a beef soup, and two entrees( mongolian beef and orange chicken. Prices are high, but if the quality is there it is worth it. Delivery is a $8 fee plus tip. Our bill was almost $90
The protein in each of the dishes ( soup, mongolian, and chicken) were sub standard and tough to chew. The spareribs on the appetizer looked and tasted like it had been over cooked to the point of tough. There was very little meat on each rib.
Sorry to say we were sorely disappointed and will not order again
I love thai cuisine. We are in search of a good Thai restaurant for a while...we found it finally. The food is awesome..Service is awesome. My kids too loved the food..I wish they will set up soon in Frisco as well..We tried orange chicken..tom kha soup..pad kee mow..satay chicken..Everything tasted yummy..
The food tasted really good. But they don’t have a kids menu so its tough to visit frequently. But me and my daughters loved the food and service very much!
They could add a little more decoration. But its simple, clean and bright.
Highly recommended. We've been several times, all the food is fantastic!
Very nice food and kind staff.Clean and reasonably priced too.
This was our first time eating here and we had chicken pad Thai, a chicken, ginger dish, and pineapple fried rice and everything was absolutely delicious. We got the three spice and it’s on the spicier side, but again absolutely delicious. We will definitely be coming back!
Love the food. Service was awesome. Also, place is neat and clean. Bathrooms were clean as well.
The food is so authentic and wonderful the staff are so friendly as well. We are Thai so we know the real taste and it’s on point. My mom and I will definitely come back!
Amazing place for authentic Thai food. Food is very yummy and tasty with sufficient quantity starting from appetizers till deserts. I would keep coming.
Delicious food and friendly service. Will be back!
Amazing food and service!!
Amazing! Thai food here are the original Thai taste that I've been looking for. I ordered tamarind shrimps, laos papaya salad, thai baby pork spare-rip, laab chicken. All dishes are great.
I’m Thai, and this is an authentic Thai food that you can’t find elsewhere in the area.
I ordered Po Tak, which is similar to Tom Yum but doesn’t have reddish color. It tastes sour, fresh, and light, not heavy like Tom Yum or Ton Kha. I love this soup, but other Thai places don’t have it. Give it a try and you will love it!
I also ordered Thai Basil. Tip: ask them to use authentic Thai basil, and you will experience the real basil dish as in Thailand.
This restaurant is a family business. They are soooo friendly and extremely nice. You gotta come here!!
The crispy veggie rolls and chicken pad thai were delicious! The service here was top notch and phenomenal! We will definitely be back!
Yummy local Thai 😋
We had Thai food at a number of restaurants in the area and decided to try out this new restaurant. The food was fantastic. Stopped by this wonderful Thai restaurant. Let me tell you this place doesn’t disappoint, infact the food was really really good.
The pad ke mao and basil fried rice both were Delicious. The service was also great.
Ooo how did i forgot the Thai tea - just yum
Very high quality food. Every single thing we ordered was amazing! My favorite Thai in town. Friendly staff.
Ok. Forgettable.
Thai Papaya will be our new favorite Thai restaurant. The staff was nice and friendly. We had Pad Thai, Salmon curry, Crab fried rice, and Tom Kha, they were all good. They also have Fried ice cream, we got the green tea flavor, and it was yummy!
Wow! The food was so good! We had a group of four and each of us ordered something different. All of it was so very tasty! Some of the best Thai food we’ve enjoyed eating. If you need gluten free or vegetarian all menu items are clearly marked. And the service was beyond excellent! Very happy to have this place in Allen. We have found a new favorite! Thank you!
Really good food. Ordered online, quick to make and pick up. Tom Kha soup is very good. Several dishes in and everything has been delicious. Spicy level means spicy and I like spicy. Kiddo loves the dumplings. Looking forward to trying other dishes.
I don’t get option to remove eggs from my food and I would like them to add this filter as an option on their website. I have to call them after every online order.
Edited: when I went in to pick up my order today, the staff informed me that they have already talked to the admin of their site.. OMG .
Great food and such an amazing people behind it.
I do eat it here almost every other Friday. It’s a reward for me to survive the whole week!!!
Spice level 5 didn’t disappoint, can’t wait to try all of the curries. Service was excellent and so was the food.
The herb chicken fried rice is excellent highly recommend. The staff is super nice a d friendly
Their Kao Piak Sen is legit! Just like how I remember my mom's Lao cooking!

UPDATED REVIEW:
Oct 17th: THIS PLACE DELIVERES AWESOME FLAVORS OMG. FLAVOR EXPLOSION!
this time, we ordered
Tamarind shrimp - sweet but not overbearing, a little bit of heat and the shrimp was fresh. The frying was not oily. Awesome flavours. This dish comes with rice.
Po Tak with tofu - tangy, light, savoury. Good for a cold day or when you want a light soup. Shared this with my husband and couldn't stop having more.
Sweet rice with mango - This was such a light desert. Sticky rice was underneath the mango and it was such a surprise! Very lovely aromatic flavours and smells!
Thai Green tea - light drink that rounds up the whole dinning experience.
Oct 03: Omg wow.. this place is so good! I am so glad we live close by! Unfortunately, we were so hungry that we didn't take photos till the plates were empty :( sorry.
But we ordered: BBQ skewers, papaya salad Thai style, fried pork ribs, curry fried rice and panang curry. The owner was so kind and gave us a sample of Thai Green tea and omg that was the best drink I've had in a long time! Yes!
This place is awesome! Close to Allen and Fairview. A small place I'll be frequenting with my husband whenever we feel like eating out!
Definitely very worth the visit and prices are fair.
Will be bringing family and friends for sure!
Delicious!
First time ordering! The food was excellent. Thai fried rice was perfect but I will order it a little spicier next time, pad Thai also excellent and the crispy veggie rolls were to die for. We will definitely be back. Glad to have you so close!
Our go to Thai place. Garlic chicken wings are great! Tum Yum soup at level 2 and steamed rice hits the spot just right!
Green tea Thai tea was good and reminded me of mochi but in drink form😜😉!!
Cozy place, reasonable prices, delicious food, great service.
We will definitely be going back!
Portions were a little small and a lot of fat in the ground chicken. Staff was really nice though.
Friendly server, food that was flavorful but not overpowering. Everything seemed like it was made fresh. The thai green tea was particularly surprising in the flavor!
Best Thai food in I’ve had in DFW by far
Tried on a whim because it’s down the street. So glad we stumbled upon this place, wonderful flavors and freshness. Peter the owner also made sure to stop by at every table to check on the dining experience. We will be back for sure!
Great little restaurant. Food was amazing, fresh and made with a lot of attention to detail. Service was exceptional, We will be back!
Pleasant and accommodating staff. Fresh delicious food. I needed to find this treasure today. The shrimp appetizer and cashew chick lifted my spirits. I’ve had two meals out of the generous servings. Thanks and welcome to Fairview. We love local businesses. I’ll be back!
Delicious Thai food must try
Delicious food, large portions for good prices. Inside is clean and comfortable. Staff was super friendly.
Thai Papaya is excellent! My husband and I are picky about Thai and loved everything we got. We got chicken satay, chicken teriyaki, and Panang curry with chicken. The chicken was all incredibly tender and flavorful. Highly recommend!
Holy moly, this place was so amazing!!! Red curry, Mongolian beef, fried rice... all were wonderful! Appetizers of spring rolls and wonton were homemade and fresh. Topped off by the perfect Thai tea! We will be back, new fave place in town. ❤️
Absolutely delicious! Great big portions, full of flavor! Cant wait to bring the rest of the family!
Big fan so far, the Panang was delicious and the portion filled me up. Great flavor and spice. Looking forward to trying the Larb and other curries.
We tried so many different things and they were all great and our kids approved too. Customer service was top notch. So glad to have this restaurant in our neighborhood. Will be back soon.
The best Thai restaurant ever!!! The food was so fresh and delicious.
Tasty food and sweet staff, we will definitely be returning!
Very friendly staff and goof flavors. Have a large menu so I look forward to trying more options down the road.
Its convenient for a pick up order when we dont want to cook at home.
We got an order to go. Very easy website and the food was ready quickly and was hot and delicious. We had the pad see waa and the pad Thai with the baby rolls. Everything was really good. Highly recommend we will be back
Very friendly, family owned business. Homemade authentic sauces, and delicious food.
Great food! Run by really nice and friendly family. Would highly recommend.
Give this place and these nice people a try. I was sad to see the previous occupants leave but was happy to see a comparable replacement take its place. Support this place. Food is fantastic and the service is great. I got the curry fried rice with chicken and it was great. The baby rolls are a must try. Welcome to the area Thai Papaya! I’ll be back for sure!
Delicious food that's full of flavor. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!
The food and the service were both AMAZING!! I’m definitely coming back here again 😊
Solid Thai food… pricing is great
Nice family business
The food was so good! Will definitely be back. :)
I highly recommend the Red Curry and Panang! I have been long searching for Panang after SaWaDiKa closed their doors. I had the Red Curry and Panang at a level 3 spice level and it was awesome! The Red Curry has more coconut and the Panang has a more subtle coconut flavor. (Both are awesome). If you’ve never had Thai curry- the spiciness builds as you eat. Thank y’all so much! I’ll bring my family next time!
