Pad Thai with Tofu was okay. Panang Curry with Tofu was also okay, but I wish they had cut up the vegetables a little more. The chunks were just too big to eat, they needed to be smaller. But the flavor was okay, nothing spectacular. Not much more to say about this place other than I saw some customers come in and walk out as soon as they saw it was take out only. We took our order to a nearby park and ate outdoors in a lovely setting, with ducks coming to our table to keep us company and get a tidbit if they were feeling lucky...or ducky.

Just purchased the tofu yellow curry to go and it’s a huge portion with a generous amount of tofu and truly fresh crunchy veggies including broccoli, zucchini, snap peas, and carrots. The curry is nice and substantial, a bit salty but a nice contrast to the veg. Unbelievable bargain at 12 bucks since you could easily feed two with this. In a pricy food zone, if you are looking not to break the bank stop in and experience the kind and quick service. Thank you.

Taro boba there is sooooo good

I’ve reviewed this place already but wanted to post an update. We have order from them a ton and have never had less than excellent quality of food, portion to price, fast delivery and friendliness. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed!

We always order $60-80 and tip $15-20. The first time we wanted to order $40 they wouldn’t deliver. We decided to pick up yesterday. The girl at the counter was so rude and preoccupied with her phone. Then we get our food home, egg rolls were black from over cooking, ragoons were also, (maybe old oil?) and the chicken was mushy like when you microwave the next day. We live 6mins from restaurant. Portions also changed. Over 75% of container was rice. I don’t know what happened we loved this place. Not sure we will return. For $60 for 3 meals and one appetizer, repeat customers I’m disappointed

Great bubble tea, never had food here though. Price is a little steep but I believe it's the only place with bubble tea in Saratoga anymore.

Bamboo Cookhouse is my go-to for a delicious meal on nights I cant be bothered to cook! The food is always fresh and delicious. The staff members are always smiling when I walk in and the atmosphere is equally inviting. I highly recommend them to everyone looking for a delicious treat!

Ordered pick up on Friday night. really fast service as it was ready by the time we got there. The food was well prepared and good. The pad thai could have used a few more peanuts and the steamed dumplings were a bit bland, but solid Chinese food.

Generally, I like the food the drinks from this place, but I ordered tonight and it was one disaster after the next. The food was scheduled to arrive around 6. I waited and waited then received a message that there were no drivers, that my order was delayed. It didn’t arrive until minutes to 7. The food was good, that true. But my bubble tea, which I’d been looking forward to, was nasty. There were suspicious chunks in there. They weren’t boba. God onky knows what but it turned my stomach. I may very well part ways with this place....

I was excited to order Boba tea but as I was waiting at the counter for my order, a man who works here entered the restaurant and pushed my son out of his way as he entered - he did not say "excuse me" or show any indication of needing to get by.
I will never support this establishment again. You do not push children! Especially someone else's child and a CUSTOMER. I have worked hard to teach my children manners and if he had said excuse me he would have stepped aside.

Best Boba in upstate NY! Walked in and asked. It's a bit expensive but the brown sugar boba is the BEST.

Best Chinese take out and bubble tea in Saratoga.

Today, I ordered the Szechuan Chicken, but I had requested for them to make it with beef instead. This place actually did it and it turned out to be spectacular. This Szechuan Beef is stir-fried with vegetables in a sauce that perfectly balances the spice and umami levels. Mix this sauce with plain or even fried rice and just taste the way it completely transforms it! The food always arrives piping hot and well packaged! If you're looking for affordable, delicious and consistent Chinese in Saratoga, this is the place to order from!

The worst, most inedible take out dish I have EVER purchased. I had the Basil Chicken dinner for $16.03 plus tip. The chicken was slimy, rubbery and had no individual taste to it...the peppers and (I assume zucchini?!?) were so old and rotten I had to throw the dish away. ABSOLUTELY GROSS!!! I wish I had taken photos to show you how nasty this was.

Used to love this place before a 12 year old started answering the phone. Once called to pick up an order, was told they don't have pickup. Asked if they delivered, was they didn't. Asked if they had dine in, that was also a no. No delivery, no take out and no dine in? Why even answer the phone? Haha

Ordered from here because the place I normally order from is closed on Sunday. Vegetables weren’t cut up enough, and there was more rice than chow mein in the combo meal.

Have gotten take out and delivery from here a hand full of times and every time it is delicious! Have ordered the Chinese Food and loved the General Tso’s and hot and sour soup and egg rolls! But seriously everything we ordered tasted delicious! I would highly recommend this restaurant for take out and delivery!

I love the food here! It’s always tasty and the restaurant is one of my favorite places for take out in the area. They also have great bubble tea. I always make sure to stop by when I’m in downtown Saratoga. This restaurant was where I got my first good-quality bubble tea. I’ve tried a majority of the flavors and I have nothing bad to say about any of them. I have many friends who really enjoy the peach and papaya flavors. Personally, my favorite has always just been original. I love this place and I’ve been going there for a while, I think I started going shortly after they opened. If you are looking for good bubble tea or takeout, I can’t recommend this place enough.

What a gem in Saratoga! We came by to pick up some Passionfruit Bubble Tea and the woman I put the order in with at the door was super friendly (make sure to pick up a buy 5 get 1 free drink card). The tea tasted great and we were thankful to Bamboo Cookhouse for fulfilling our late night bubble tea craving!

As disclaimer, i want to know why the lady always get my order wrong, is it that she couldn’t understand me even when I repeat my order multiple times?
I’m Asian too and English is my second language as well, so I was always very patience and make sure I repeat my order twice, but 70% of the time the lady always gets me & my bf’s order wrong.

I've lived in Saratoga for 4 years now and I absolutely love Bamboo CookHouse. I order at least a few times a month because their food is some of the best in Saratoga. They also recently added bubble teas to their menu, and they are delicious. The menu has a wide variety of options and they are very centrally located in Saratoga. I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you are looking for good Chinese or Thai cuisine.

Food is always delicious. You can find any kind you like. Must try the bubble tea. The best ever I have. Much better than NYC’s bubble tea.

Service was non-existent, food was sloppy and basic, fried dumplings were rubbery and gooey inside. Barely any filling, noodles in lomein were mushy and over cooked, spicy duck was just a bunch of vegetables with a few shreds of duck. Srever spent more time in the kitchen doing takeout than waiting on tables. Children running around, no Ambience, no music. Basically the run of the mill Chinese takeout place that has a dining room for track season.

The food tastes mediocre. They messed up the order and the customer service is horrible too. Don’t make the mistake of ordering from here.

Ordered around 6:30 on a Tuesday. It was a very simple and small order of Sesame Tofu and Shrimp and Broccoli. Not only did my food arrive two hours later but when I did not tip the driver began insulting me. Despite my patience I felt this was a very unprofessional way to act and will not be ordering from here again and will recommend against. Lucky Peking is just as good if not better.

Bamboo cookhouse was char koon in Saratoga Springs for many years. We never have that many bad comments before. Since we expanded the restaurant into Bamboo Cookhouse we have been receiving some false comments. I hope our peers doesn’t slander us. We hope every restaurant do there best job to sever every costumer.

Absolutely horrible. Worst Chinese and sushi I’ve ever had. I can’t believe I have to give them even 1 star.

More of a to-go or delivery place. But I sat down. Had chicken low mien. Very quick from order to having it at the table. Noodles and veggies were good but the chicken did not taste right. Undercooked? The waitress did not seem to care. I might try again as the veggies were good... but there are other places to try first.

I ordered a Pad Thai because the waitress said it's great, but it was one of the most disgusting meals I had in my memory, the chicken was nauseating and so were the noodles. I tried it, instantly hated it, left a full, almost untouched plate of this mess and payed my check, the waitress couldn't care less.

Basil fried rice is excellent! try it if you can't decide anything else..Doesn't have the great ambience for dining there if you compare with similar restaurants, but the food is surely great and reasonable price for the Saratoga area. Dined once really disappointed. They could neither cooked Thai well nor Chinese food. Price was high. Service was bad. Now I felt that the Pad Thai they served before appetizers was probably leftovers, really disgusting!!! So be careful and avoid going there in the first place.

Prices are not set and vary on who answers the phone. Online ordering is not good and difficult to manage. This place has alright food but nothing exciting you can buy the same ingredients and make your own food for a fraction of what they are charging you.

Best Chinese in Town besides Great Tangs. If your looking for classic original Chinese and Thai come here ! Always great food and good prices! Only reason I put 4/5 is I wish Char Koon would stay open until 1130pm Daily!! Hate how sometimes they will close at 1030 and other days it’s 11 and then some days it’s 1130.

The menu said the fried rice is $8.75. But at the end they charged me 11.75 without giving me a receipt. They were speaking my city’s dialect and I could understand the manager tell a waitress not to give me my receipt. The manager also admitted to the waitress that I was being overcharged. I do not recommend anyone to come to this restaurant. Very disappointing.

Char Koon is our favorite Chinese/Thai food restaurant in Saratoga Springs, hands down. And having lived all over the US, it's been the best and *friendliest* service I've ever had at a local Chinese restaurant. The lady that takes our order is so sweet, and the delivery guys are always super friendly as well. The food is always SUPER fresh and clean, great tasting. Look no further if you want Chinese in Saratoga!

I'm not a fussy Asian food connoisseur so my taste perfection aside, the food was ready within 7 minutes from when I placed my lunchtime in-person order, the staff was friendly and courteous (even handed me my food rather than calling for me from the register) and the ingredients were fresh. I enjoyed my chicken with garlic sauce quite well. Will be going often now.

The steamed dumplings were great, but the crab Rangoons had barley anything in them. They were just fried wonton paper crumbled in a ball.

I had Sweet & Sour chicken, and my wife had sesame chicken and an egg roll.We were both very satisfied with the meal and the service was also veery good.

I will not order Chinese food from any other restaurant. After 5 or 6 orders I wanted to write a review. And the best way I can convey my opinion is to put it this way...
If I choose this restaurant, I have one 2 options to get the food

1. Get it delivered and have to tip a driver which is something I usually hate doing. I would rather get it myself instead of dish out more money.

2. Driver into downtown Saratoga and be miserable finding a place to park and have to walk potentially blocks to get my food. This becomes 10x worse in winter.

I have done both. I will do both. Forever. For the rest of my life. And here’s why.

BECAUSE THIS IS THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IN SARATOGA SPRINGS. It is worth tipping a driver and believe it or not, it’s worth fighting for a parking spot downtown.
I will not order from anywhere else.
If I could rate 10 stars, I would rate it more than that.

Food was terrible. Chicken pad Thai. The only flavor was stale chicken In sugar. I could not eat it, they would not refund my money so I brought it home for the cats. As I was dishing it out to the cats I found a hair in the gloop. The Cats liked it. I'll never go back. I wish I could give it zero stars.

My sister and I went in for an early dinner. We were the only ones in the restaurant, but the lady that sat us at our table and everyone else ignored us and didn’t even offer us water. After about 15 mins or so, I went to the front and complained and all she said was do I want to order or not. She was very rude. We got up and left and will never go back. Great customer service, even when the food isn’t so good, would make me consider returning, but this place had the worst customer service. WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!

I had an excellent meal that was not too pricey. It had freal flavor and didn't take long to make. The menu is an eady read, it explains many dishes. They are pleasant and prompt in general.
The restaurant has seating and isn't super romantic or anything. I also wouldn't feel grossed out eating there like I would some other places.
I will be coming back. It was very tasty.

They're extremely prompt when delivering which might be the better option cause parking on the street can be impossible at times, especially if you just want to pick up a to go order. But if you dine in, the back restaurant has interesting flair.
