Perfectly prepared Thai dishes that will have you coming back for more! I have yet to try any dish here that was not pleasing to the palette.
I love the Papaya Salad served at a heat level of 3-4 accompanied with any main course.
Go in and find out what your favorite dish is. You won't be disappointed!

Best Thai cuisine in Baton Rouge. Some of the best Thai I've ever had and the service was wonderful and kind.

Diner Review №6

Highest quality food - most consistent experience - superb flavors in all dishes

Diner Review №7

The food here is wonderful, and I understand that you were understaffed and super busy yesterday with the approaching holiday. I stayed and ordered, anyway, because I had already been turned away from another restaurant that was only serving Christmas pre-orders during my brief, 30-minute lunch period. I DID try to call ahead, but no one answered.

The way you made me FEEL for simply choosing to eat at your restaurant...like gum on the bottom of your shoe. An inconvenience. An insult to you just for showing up. Inexcusable. You yelled at me, "You wait 20 minutes!" What choice did I have? I was out of time. So I waited.

The holidays are really difficult for some of us. Monday was my wedding anniversary, which my husband had forgotten. Money is almost non-existant right now, but I chose to spend what little I had left eating your soup. It was a spectacularly bad day already, and I consider your Tom Kha a special treat. Usually a balm to the soul.

I probably won't remember the taste of that soup a month from now, but I will remember the way you made me feel. Please be more mindful. I hope your day got better.

Diner Review №8

If you like spicy, this is the place. The food is good, but there's definitely room for improvement. This is a small busy restaurant with only 2 people waiting on tables and hosting. They work hard to get your order out quickly. However, they don't have time to check on you once your food has been served.
Heads up if you order from the "Curry" list. It is a soup!

Diner Review №9

This is my go to place. Atleast once a week I go there order a thai pepper fried rice or basil fried rice. I feel it’s fried rice taste is very close to the one I used to eat back in india, so it’s definitely my frequent place to grab my lunch. Apart from that the appetizers are also pretty good. I’ll definitely recommend it for some asian flavors.

I had Pad Thai, Wonton Soup, Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice, Thai Tea, and Thai Coffee, and everything was delicious! The flavors were just as good as the ones I’ve had at other great Thai restaurants. The server was very friendly, and the food came out in just 10 minutes. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Thai food!

Came in to eat before a show. We sat for 10 minutes with no drinks while multiple new customers came in and were tended to. We asked several times if we could please place an order because we had a show in an hour but kept getting told they were busy. Finally got waters after 10 minutes. The man who gave us the water asked if we knew what we wanted to eat. We said yes. His response was “ok she will come get it soon.” She didn’t. She took another table’s order so I got up to ask her. She said they were there before us. They weren’t. Sat down for a few more minutes and decided to leave. 10/10 do not recommend.

Diner Review №19

I don’t recommend you go there

Excellent food that came out super quick. Very friendly quaint atmosphere. Truly the best Thai food i’ve ever had!

Diner Review №23

Since Angie left the restaurant has gone down-hill. The food is inconsistent, seems like the love is gone..the service is non-existent, the lady up front has a very off-putting spirit..super unwelcoming. Lord God bring back Angie!

Diner Review №24

Always great food.

Diner Review №26

What a wonderful visit! It's been a while since we have been.

The eggplant, basil fried rice and shrimp were all excellent!

Updated 06/2024... another great visit! Try the spicy beef salad and the wontons! Pad thai was excellent!

Diner Review №27

You can’t tell from the outside but this place has a warm, homey ambiance and fantastic food with well balanced flavors and fresh ingredients.

Diner Review №28

It has been way too long. Ahhhh yes!
Thai Food Mastery. I love this place. I always have.

I used to frequent Thai Pepper for daily lunches whenever I was managing an office downtown.

The menu is very authentic. The spice is extra hot. So be cautious when choosing the level of spice. But that’s what I mean by authentic.

Even a seasoned ( no pun ) veteran of spicy Louisiana food that I am. The medium level spice of these dishes even puts me to the test.
I suggest all newcomers start with the low level spice. Then move your way up. I’d love to try using Thai spice in a crawfish boil and watch my veteran craw-fishers faces turned red. lol

Thai Pepper nails the flavors of Thai Food here.
My personal favorite is the Panang Curry with Chicken.

The soups are extremely flavorful and carefully crafted with numerous mysterious ingredients. Foreign to the eye as well as to the palate.
After all. Food that is foreign is the whole idea.
Right?

The atmosphere is clean, cozy and relaxing. It’s not a white table cloth type of a restaurant. It’s not meant to be. And it doesn’t have to be.

Thai Pepper is simply a no-nonsense local favorite venue that consistently satisfies those in search of TRUE Thai cuisine. Not an Americanized spinoff.

As I’ve said before. Consistency is key.

You can’t just offer a great restaurant with great food. But then allow the quality fluctuates.
It must be consistent. Customers need to know.
That when you want to be guaranteed the very best in whatever category of dining that you’re in the mood for. There are places that will never disappoint.

Surprisingly. The entrees are not very expensive. I would be willing to pay more for this level of quality. In a way, I do. In the form of large tips.

In the category of Thai Food. There are many runner ups in the Baton Rouge area. But only one true winner. And in my opinion.

Thai Pepper is the hands down winner.

I tried to eat here twice and got turned away both times. I won't bother trying to eat here a third time.

The first time, they said their AC was out and we couldn't eat, but they hald half a resturant of people eating there. The second time, I came 30 minutes before close and told me they weren't accepting any more to-go orders.

Diner Review №40

Always amazing

Hidden gem in Baton Rouge. Fantastic food, delicious authentic Thai. 10/10

Diner Review №46

Took someone there & we both had Drunken Noodles & they were fantastic! Very tasty like how it should be! We both emptied our plates, btw, very reasonable price for the portion! Must be new management bc it tastes better than before!

Diner Review №47

Food here is probably the best there is in Baton Rouge. Service is quick and staff is always personable and inviting.

Diner Review №48

Outstanding food, service is personal and I love the Godly atmosphere.

Diner Review №49

Diner Review №50

Very good restaurant, everything always tastes fresh.

Diner Review №51

We've had take out twice and have loved it. We just moved here and to be honest, we've found the fried rice around here to be quiet bland. We're used to it having some soy sauce or something, and we had only found bland rice. I love Thai food so we decided to try and it's been a hit! The fried rice has been the best, and the noodles are great. I've had pad woon sen and pad see ew and I've like the both, especially the pad see ew. Next time I will try the pad thai which I'm sure will be great. We've also had the fried rolls and the fresh rolls. Love the fresh rolls especially! We wanted to eat in once but it seemed perhaps they only do sit down at lunch?

Diner Review №52

I ordered the Drunken Noodles and it was great. Very flavorful and of good portions.

My only complaint is the service. The waitress did say it would be about 40 minutes for our food (it did take about this long) and we agreed but this has got to improve.

Diner Review №53

A little slice of home . Red curry spot on . som tam was a little different but still delicious.. spice was there. I guess my mom's spice lv is insanity hot, that why it's not hot to me .

Diner Review №54

My daughter gave them 5 stars ⭐️

Diner Review №55

Delicious food large portions. Some of the mild is still spicy, but soo good.

It was a little hot in there for that day. But I was so impressed with the food.

We got the triple fried fish, basil fried right and the lard/pork. And was so full and had plenty of food to bring home.

Diner Review №56

Very nice experience. Great food. I ordered chicken satay and spicy peanut tofu and vegetables. The satay sauce was a little runny for my preference but the flavor was on point. The veggies were fresh and the portion size was perfect. I ordered it mild. The sauce was plenty spicy to get my nose a runnin' but not to the point of losing the flavors. The jasmine rice was a little dried out for my preference. Sometime was up with the air conditioner. It was warm! Not their fault. Things break. Seems like they were trying to fix it. Otherwise the dining area was simple and clean but kind of dark. Prices were very reasonable for the area. Of the three Asian food restaurants I've visited, this is probably the best in the area.

Diner Review №57

We ordered dinner from this place. Thai pepper fried rice was so good.

Diner Review №58

Diner Review №59

I loved the entire experience!! Not only is the customer service incredible, the environment is relaxed and nice and the food is INCREDIBLE! Great authentic food and the best part is that it is by fair more reasonably priced than other places. The portions were huge and I got a lot of food for under $30! If I didn’t live 2 hours away, I’d be here ALL THE TIME!! I loved it!

Diner Review №60

Great Thai food. Can’t wait to go back !

Diner Review №61

One of the best places in BR. Top for Thai food imo. I've ordered just about everything on the menu. It's all good.

Diner Review №62

Delicious food, stellar service and one of the cleanest restaurants I've ever eaten in. I will be back, hopefully soon. I can't overstate how nice the staff are.

Diner Review №63

thai pepper is an underrated hidden gem in BR! If you are looking for good thai food look no further. Portions are generous, good prices, and they don't hold back on the spice. Service was good, and its a nice atmosphere inside. I will be back!

Diner Review №64

Always delicious. I miss the buffet, but it's still one of my top 5 of all time

Diner Review №65

Pretty good. Greatest value probably for those that eat in the dining room.
Service was attentive though I picked it up to go.
They had sold out of the spring rolls (Saturday 7pm) which was disappointing but it happens. So, I ordered wonton with shrimp but not so great as a takeout item as they were fried and didn't remain crisp. I feel the value was lost with the texture but I don't blame the restaurant as I know better than to assume fried items will maintain integrity in a styro box.
I would go back again but will try different items next time.
From what I've heard, Thai Pepper is the best homestyle Thai restaurant in BR. Generous portions.
I would recommend to eat in the dining room.

Diner Review №66

Diner Review №67

I really enjoyed their steam fish with steamed vegetables and the black rice for dessert.

Diner Review №68

Loved the food and the service. Beautiful Atmosphere and Great Food.

Diner Review №69

How am I just finding out about Thai Pepper? What rock have I been hiding under? This restaurant is excellent! Let's strart with service. Our server was the owner's daughter, who was all smiles, so friendly, and so punctual with service. The food was fresh, ingredients were top notch, flavor was impeccable, and menu was legit (loved the thorough descriptions and options). We will be back as this is my go to Thai food restaurant now. Thank you!!!

Diner Review №70

Delicious and spicy. Also very soothing when experiencing cold/flu symptoms 🌶🔥

Diner Review №71

Amazing service, food was delicious, definitely coming back!

Diner Review №72

Basil Fried Rice & Tom Kha soup, the best!

Diner Review №73

Wonderful & flavorful Thai. We had the papaya salad, drunken noodles, and panang curry. Service was fast and got seated right away during the lunch hour. Large portion size.

Diner Review №74

Great Thai Fried Rice & Satay.

Diner Review №75

The freshest and tastiest curry!!

Diner Review №76

The staff here is incredibly welcoming and I absolutely love the wood panel interior. This is something normally I would consider tacky, but here it just fits the vibe so beautifully. It's like being welcomed into someone's home to enjoy a wonderful meal.

Diner Review №77

This place has freah ingredients, low prices and great portions.

Diner Review №78

The Thai Green Curry is extraordinary 😋!!!
One Love ❤️

Diner Review №79

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge! The family that owns it is super friendly, and the food is amazing! Highly recommend the beef pineapple fried rice.

Diner Review №80

had food poisoning from this place, food did not taste fresh

Diner Review №81

Wow! What a nice little hidden gem! Thai Pepper is a small. Family owned establishment on Florida Blvd. If you blink, you may just miss it! The inside is exceedingly clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful explaining things on the menu. I have heard Thai food is hotter than ours so I went with medium (level 2). I would say on my own. Scale it would be about a 4 so be aware! The dumpling soup was warm and spicy with al dent carrots and plump, juicy shrimp wontons. Please consider stopping by you will be very happy you did!

Diner Review №82

Pork fried rice and wanton soup were great. Order spice level that you want. Medium, spicey or extra spicey.

Diner Review №83

Diner Review №84

Diner Review №85

Thai tea tasted watered down. Thai egg rolls were decent along with shrimp Pad Thai which later gave me diarrhea. The food came out too fast for my liking (within 5 minutes after I ordered). This signifies that food was likely sitting and reheated.

In my opinion, there are better Thai restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, I will not return to this location. Service and environment were good otherwise.

UPDATE: Reduce to one star because my stomach is still upset from either the food or drink or combination of both.

Diner Review №86

Best Thai food in BR. Even better with the great service

Diner Review №91

Wanna get thai food, this is best place to get it in Baton Rouge. Greay atmosphere, great food.

Diner Review №92

My favorite lunch place in all of Baton Rouge, easily! Great food all around... fresh vegetables and spices. Authtentic Thai food with some unique options you can’t find anywhere else. Highlights are the soups, the curries, basil chicken, cinnamon pork, steak salad, papaya salad, and fruit or rice based desserts. There is literally something for everybody.
UPDATE 2023: still by far my favorite place in town. Menu is smaller due to covid changes, but still great.

Diner Review №93

Nice little restaurant..... food was very good... the amount of people lining up at lunch time can attest to the food quality...

I'll be back

Diner Review №94

Diner Review №97

Diner Review №98

Everything is good here. But the covid drove away the buffet and still not back yet. Sad.

Diner Review №99

We truly enjoyed this place! The food was so good, authentic and fresh. The service was quick and friendly. We ordered the cucumber salad and wonton soup as appetizers and the basil fried rice with the three flavor fish and a Thai iced tea. Everything was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go again. So glad we took a chance on this place and tried something new. We were pleasantly impressed!

Diner Review №104

Will not serve you alcohol even with ID. Some middle aged Asian lady refuses to serve. Aside from that the food is decent

Diner Review №105

Love this place! I haven’t found a Thai restaurant in Baton Rouge that is doing it better than Thai pepper! Every time I have family come in to town, I always order from them. Food is fresh and there are many menu options so you won’t get bored. A little pepper goes a long way. Thai pepper brings the heat (unless you prefer no pepper)!

Diner Review №109

Best thai food in BR. I don't care what anyone says, I've been to Thailand so I (insert sarcasm) certainly know! Sarcasm aside, BR has a lot of great Southeast Asian cuisine, theirs is undeniably my favorite. Their green and panang curry are top notch. Their tom yum and Tom Kha Gai soups send me straight back to being on Koh Tao in the middle of a monsoon cozying up in a treehouse. Mixed rice dishes are full of fresh herbs, alighting your taste buds with the flavors we all go to Thai places to experience.

Their staff is super friendly, very polite, and the restaurant is always clean.

True, there is no longer the buffet (what originally set them miles apart) but it's still the most authentic you'll get in BR.

Diner Review №110

Really miss the buffet.... Is it going to return????

Diner Review №111

Very good food. I like their curries a lot, as well as the Drunken Noodles. I wish they had a lunch special like some of the other Thai restaurants in town.

Diner Review №112

The Best Thai Restaurant in Baton Rouge

Diner Review №113

Probably the best Thai place I ever been to. Me and the boys use to come here everyday after basketball. The food is always flaming spicy and the dessert is amazing. Lot's of great memories here.

Diner Review №114

My new favorite Thai restaurant in Baton Rouge. I’ve had Thai food in New York, Boston, and San Francisco restaurants, but Thai Pepper’s yellow curry chicken and rice is the best I’ve had in quite some time! Their Thai basil fried rice is superb! Be sure to start with mildest pepper offering because the spiciest offering is really hot. Service is extra friendly as well. Check this place out; you won’t regret it.

Diner Review №119

Food is excellent. Service was gracious with a smile. Best Thai food in BTR.

Diner Review №120

Overall this is my favorite Thai place around, easily. The lunch buffet is insanely good... whether you like fried seafood, curries, veggies, soup, or dessert... it is all good! One of the standout crazy sounding but great items is their Thai omelet. Trust me, just try some of the things and you won't regret it! The buffet is best right at 11 AM when they open. The spices are often grown out back, so you know it's fresh. EDIT for 2023: Still the best Thai place around! I am craving the buffet, hoping it comes back so we can get more variety.

Diner Review №121

Really great food at this place. We struggled to find some good places to eat (not that southern food is bad, but every cuisine is southernized). Food tastes great, portion and price both are very readable. A must to go place if you are looking for Asian food.

Great place to get some Thai food. Nice portions. Food was tasty… super quick service. Even though there was only one person doing everything from taking order to bussing tables to waiting on tables, the service was very quick and efficient

Diner Review №134

Great good, homely atmosphere, great place to try new things.

Diner Review №135

Beautifully delicious food, friendly staff, peaceful vibe, convenient location, very affordable. One of the best restaurants in Baton Rouge. + incredible for leftovers

Diner Review №136

Diner Review №142

I am a regular customer of Thai Pepper--it is great. They are a family operation and the food is flavorful and the service is good. I lean toward spicy Thai food, and they can make any dish mild, regular, or spicy. I eat there 3-4 times a month and always leave satisfied.

Diner Review №143

I went to Thai Pepper a few times years ago with my mother when we were living in Baton Rouge post-Hurricane Katrina after we lost everything in New Orleans. It was memorable. So I went there today for my birthday, and it was absolutely delicious so shall continue to be memorable. I had Thai Basil Fried Rice (with chicken), and it was so plentiful that I had a nice dinner, too, just now with the leftovers! Sweet tea was good and not sickeningly sweet as such usually is.

Very lovely Thai waitress provided excellent service. Clean bathroom. Easy parking under a shady tree. Not at all noisy in the restaurant. All good. Happy Birthday to me!

Diner Review №144

Diner Review №145

Diner Review №146

So tasty!!! The nam sod was so delicious. Will be returning!

Diner Review №147

DO NOT order online through Menufy with them! They would not answer their phone for us to do a pick up order. So I had to order through the Menufy app (1.50 fee for doing so) they make you use through their website. After 45 minutes I go to pick it up. They tell me they have no online orders. I open the app and the lady just says “I don’t know” even though there is a sign in the restaurant saying Menufy. No customer service

Diner Review №148

I absolutely love this place. I usually order take out so I can’t comment much on the dine in experience. The food is always hot, fresh, delicious, reasonably priced, and the employees are always very friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant seems very clean inside for the brief time that I’m in there.

Diner Review №149

This place is wonderful! I miss the buffet prior to covid so much— But every morsel of food they make is delicious !! My favorite is the parang curry, three flavor fish and drunken noodles.
Baton rouge is so lucky to have a delicious Thai restaurant like this.

Diner Review №150

Love love the Thai Pepper! I’ve dined for the last 15 years when I want Thai food, and it’s always been delicious! But Please please please, bring back the lunch buffet! I miss it and so do many people I know. I believe it would be very well attended for your restaurant!

Diner Review №151

Fantastic, quick service! Food came out very hot. I dined in on a Monday evening along with one other occupied table. Quite, casual dining room. They had many to-go orders. Many vegetarian options on their menu. Thai offerings including sautéed, curries, noodles, and fried rices. Choose your spice level. I enjoyed the vegetarian egg rolls and drunken noodles.

Diner Review №152

Like my Thai extra spicy and they didn't disappoint. I didn't have to use a spicy tray which makes it better when the right amount of spicy is cooked into the food. I ordered a spice level of 7 from a scale of 1 to 5 and they nailed it. Good little burn on my lips and the right amount of sinus drain along with very tasty vegetables and sauce. I ordered Larb and Pad Gar Prow!! (Thai Basil

Some of the best Thai food I've had. Was in the Baton Rouge area and decided to stop. It was very busy around lunch time! I had the extra spicy chicken laarb with a side of chicken tenders. Diner Review №172

Love love Thai Pepper-we eat here so often that the ladies (who are all awesome, funny, attentive, and patient, as we have a strict no-veggie eater, a picky, off-menu item orderer, an indecisive procrastinator that always changes something at the last minute, and she always manages to handle it all without frustration. I get the basil chicken with ground chicken and it’s so good that my leftovers are always gone before the day is done. Not sure what they make those egg rolls with but heaven help my spouse if he tries to grab beyond his half of the order because I will stab him with my fork. It’s happened, I’m not ashamed, they are crunchy and delicious. Prices are great, service really fast whether take out or dine in, just make sure you specify what level spice you can handle cause these guys dont mess around-it can get hot!

Diner Review №173

Diner Review №174

Awesome. Traveling and have eaten thai 3 days in a row. Have never had the mushroom sauce. Ordered it extra hot. Loved it. My friend had Thai chilled medium hot. Excellent. Very full of flavor. Portions are very sizeable Both were outstanding

Diner Review №184

The food is delicious! It's actually the best Thai food I've had in Louisiana! Everything was flavorful with a kick! Patrons are required to stay masked until seated, which keeps the environment clean and safe! The prices are super reasonable! The customer service was excellent! I highly recommend this place!

Diner Review №185

I actually couldn’t even wait for my entrée to write this review. I just had the calamari, wontons, and veggie egg rolls, and I’m absolutely blown away. It’s hard to imagine Thai food this good in Baton Rouge. So so so good.

Diner Review №186

Everything I’ve tried is absolutely fantastic, especially the Tom Kha soup and fresh spring rolls. The peanut sauce for the spring rolls is the most perfectly delicious peanut sauce ever. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I highly recommend them!

Really nice lady works the front with another young waitress. Food is good ,but they use a lot of oil. I will always go back anyway.

Thai Pepper is cozy and delicious. When I get a craving for Thai food, they are a great stop. I usually get the buffet which is loaded with tasty options. This last time we ordered from the menu where you can choose your spice level. Let me tell you, if you want it hot, they can get you hot. Not sure I want to try Extra Hot. ;)

Good stuff!!! Definitely one of the better Thai places in the area. If you’re in Baton Rouge, you should definitely stop in…

I wish I could give this place more stars. I hadn't been since before covid, back when they had their buffet. I ordered the spicy eggplant with tofu and it was sooooo good. The sauce was flavorful, the eggplant was tender, the tofu was crisp and the other vegetables were at that sweet spot of being cooked but still crisp. I even had enough for a second meal for later. You won't be disappointed.

The best thai buffet in baton rouge. The dishes are fresh and very delicious. We went there so many times but never saw it with any less crowd. That speaks volumes about this place. It kind of became a one time a week eatery for us.

Update:
This is one of my favorite restaurant in baton rouge. I miss the lunch buffet so much which is closed due to the pandemic situation. Now its a la carte but the taste is still so amazing. It completes my asian and spice cravings from time to time. This time around we ordered fried wontons they came with a shrimp filling and a spicy sauce. It tasted good but was a little too oily. We also ordered a chicken pad tai and a Basil fried rice both on the high spicy side. They were so fresh. I loved the crisp taste that come from perfectly heated wok used to make the fried rice. The pad tai had a perfect balance with the spice and a little tinge of sweet taste and the crunch and crisp from the fresh sprouts... ready to go back soon and cant wait for the buffet to come back..
