Yesterday, I went to Bang Bang Bangkok to celebrate my anniversary/Valentine’s Day with my wife. I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant at first after reading some mixed reviews about the food, ambiance, and overall speed of service. However, my experience completely exceeded expectations—I’m giving it a solid 5 stars.
It’s important to go in knowing that this is more than just a dinner—it’s an experience. The food was truly outstanding, an incredible fusion of Thai flavors with French techniques, which they take the time to explain at the beginning. Every bite felt innovative and thoughtfully crafted. The cocktails were just as impressive—fruity, refreshing, and uniquely creative.
The service? Absolutely VIP. The staff makes you feel special with their personalized attention. And the immersive journey through the streets of Thailand, exploring its culture and cuisine, is honestly priceless.
Yes, the price might be on the higher side, but without a doubt, I’d happily pay for this experience again and again. A brilliant concept—thank you for an unforgettable night!
Bang Bang Bangkok is truly a one-of-a-kind experience! From the moment you walk in, it feels like you’ve been transported straight to Bangkok. The ambiance captures the vibrant energy of the city, and the attention to detail is remarkable.
The food is incredibly creative and pushes the boundaries of what you’d expect from Thai cuisine. Every dish is a delightful surprise, blending traditional flavors with modern techniques. I’ve never had a Thai fine dining experience quite like this.
The hospitality was equally outstanding. The staff’s warmth and attentiveness reflect the heart of Thai culture. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of, enhancing the overall experience.
If you’re looking for something truly unique and memorable, Bang Bang Bangkok is a must-visit.
A place like this is the future of fine dining. It was incredibly fun, and the staff really rounded out the experience. Food was delicious and fun. Drinks were also tasty! It really felt like we were transported to Thailand, immersive experience. Best to come here on a date, not for large groups of friends because it's obnoxious to chat from across the room.
1 star off because there wasn't enough food 😮💨. All the tastes and direction they're going is amazing but the amount....I left hungry and got pizza.
However, the experience and niche atmosphere is where everything was heightened. You just have to go at least once and see for yourself.
We had an unforgettable dining experience at BangBang Bangkok in Brooklyn this past Saturday night. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Art, the manager and our server for the evening, who truly elevated our night.
Art didn’t just serve us food—he guided us on a culinary journey through Thailand, sharing the stories behind each dish with passion and expertise. Every course was a masterpiece, bursting with bold, authentic flavors that transported us straight to the streets of Bangkok. The attention to detail, from the perfectly balanced spices to the vibrant presentation, was phenomenal.
Art’s hospitality was next-level—attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable without being overwhelming, and genuinely enthusiastic about making our experience special. It’s rare to find someone who brings such heart to both the food and the service.
If you’re looking for an authentic Thai dining adventure with impeccable service, BangBang Bangkok is the place. We’ll definitely be back—and asking for Art!
Not only was the food excellent, but the experience surrounding the meal was unique. The Bang Bang Bangkok bus will transport you to Bangkok in more than one way. No other restaurant I've been to ever came close to that dedication and silliness that the server and host puts into it. I will never forget this meal.
You have to try this place before it becomes impossible to get a table, and I sincerely hope they become that successful for having created something so special.
Now excuse me, I have to go recommend this to all of my friends.
This is both a tasting menu dinner and a show that takes you through the streets and canals of Bangkok as if you were actually there. Nothing else like this in New York. The food is all Thai flavors but in non traditional Thai formats - much more like the presentation you would expect from a French tasting menu. We had a great time here, highly recommended!
There is future of next generation eating out. Bang Bang Bangkok is the Thai foods with French techniques, were matriculated authentic delicious 10 course menu added more unique of Thailand sceneries on all transportation modes in 3D making it fun and adventurous. The host was so friendly explaining the dishes including ingredients adding historical facts about Thai foods and Thailand. His interaction was even more cherry on the top with respective humor to enhance the experience. Especially, fun of imaginary adapting papaya salad SORBET! What? Yes, I said it. I gave it away. Sorry can’t keep it quiet. The lobster meat was sweet. The duck was tasty. Chicken satay rolls reminded me of sitting next to a street food cart in Thailand, and eating it without peanuts but it tastes better with miso paste. The restaurant is very unique. I will never forget. Highly recommend to endeavor and submerge yourself with them.
An overall amazing experience!! An absolutely tasty and original Thai tasting menu in an immersive bus trip through Bangkok. I would have gone alone for the food. When at the end of the night the host asked our favorite dish I could not name one because each was unique and delicious. You actually felt like you were in a bus through Bangkok. It was so real. Highly recommend. Staff made you feel so welcome from the moment you arrived

Was a very unique and tasty experience for my birthday! All 10 courses were delicious and the setting was fun and interactive.
Such an amazing experience! Food and staff exceeded our expectations, we both left full and could barely finish the delicious dessert, cannot recommend enough!

Phenomenal service from Art. Fun little tour with great bites. Add more music! Going to space was amazing.

Loved our New Year's Eve dinner at Bang Bang Bangkok! Art was an incredible host and I felt engaged with the tour of virtual Bangkok. The dishes were elevated versions of classic Thai cuisine. I loved the "Papaya Salad" and Coconut Soup specifically. It's a bit pricey but if you're looking for a dinner experience for a special occasion it's totally worth it. It was our anniversary and we got a glass of champagne to celebrate with
Very creative set up and the overall experience was nice and different. The papaya “salad” and lobster shot were incredible, and they accommodated our dietary restrictions. However space was tight and the meal felt overpriced for what it is. There’s a service tax that gets added to the meal price + tip not included
Way overpriced, and the food was cold...Even the "soup" they serve was barely warm. 2 people. 2 drinks and $500 with tip. The experience was fun but...
Great concept but too small and too tight of a space to sit at in the bus. As far as the food goes there were several good dishes. All the dishes were small portions, cold even the ones that were supposed to be warm/Hot. The main course wagyu, 3 little pieces, one was good the other 2 I got a chunk of wagyu fat. Couldn’t even cut into it, they didn’t even want to replace it or accommodate in anyway. Expensive for what it is. Very disappointing, would not recommend 😞
Well that fun. Made a great bday surprise.

Such an eclectic idea to experience the food, culture, and atmosphere of Thailand!! Can’t recommend this enough to all.

Honestly probably one of my favorite dining experiences I’ve had in NYC. Great service, delicious food, and really cool concept. You can see the pride the restaurant takes in showcasing Bangkok, while keeping creative with innovative dishes. Surprisingly filling too! Don’t sleep on the green curry cocktail either 😊
I really wanted to like this experience that I planned for a date with my husband. The host was super friendly and welcoming!
However, the bus was very tight and not so comfortable, we barely fit in the seat and I was cramped up. Also, we were totally freezing the entire time.. AC was blasting down on us, so I couldn’t wait to leave.. my husband was shivering. A lot of the courses were really good, but too small, and also every dish was cold- especially ones that were supposed to be hot! Why did they feel so cold like they were sitting out for a while? The drink service was a bit slow as well. Concept is cool just needs adjustments. The narrator kept mentioning how cheap food is in Bangkok even though everyone was paying $155 each plus drinks.
Cold and small portions don’t justify the price- which when you add a couple cocktails each makes this a pricey meal.
We were hungry when we left, and ordered pizza.
Every dish was cold (and most were not meant to be! Like the meat or the soup). While the flavours were very much Thai and there was good attention to the presentation, the dishes felt stale and old. You literally had 5mn to eat each dish and they were already removing plates from the tables... The random loud music at the end with the space projection was completely unnecessary. Way overpriced for this quality. Very disappointing experience.
The food was very good, although the portion sizes could have been a little bigger for what we paid. My mediocre review is more due to service and atmosphere. A few things to mention: (1) When I arrived, I tried to order a Diet Coke off the menu, and was told they had run out (we had a 6pm seating) - there were no alternative diet / sugar-free sodas and at a proper elevated experience, this presumably wouldn’t have happened, and if it did, I would have been offered something to make up for it, (2) maybe I should have known this in advance, but it is a very difficult meal to socialize during, so I would not recommend for a date or a group (it really only works to socialize with 1 other person, and even so, it’s hard to do so because “virtual Bangkok” and the meal are being presented through microphone at all times, and (3) the restaurant space-wise is a little tight, with it being a one-lane bus set-up, so you have servers walking back and forth next to you constantly, and it’s a little distracting. I wish it were this food, in a little bit larger portion, at a normal restaurant - that doesn’t exist in New York, and that, I would be excited about. This is a little too difficult, I think.
Great place to go when a few drinks in. First five courses are great — an honest 2 Michelin stars, amazing, precise, and consistent. Second half was disappointing. The Oriental course was particularly lacking in taste and the Bang Bang dessert felt like mango sticky rice with multiple unnecessary downgrades. Some suggestions: add a carb dish — Thai cuisine has so many rice and noodle dishes — a single one would have been ++; could try dry-aging the wagyu with Thai spices (?); would change up the fried sea bass and redo the dessert.
The most fun I have had in a restaurant! If you’d like to visit Bangkok without leaving NYC, this is the way to do it. It’s a set menu but the food is delicious. The staff is wonderful and the atmosphere is creative genius!
My mother took me here for my 25th birthday and we had an awesome experience. Art was such a lovely host and guide who was extremely knowledgeable about the food, culture, and atmosphere. The food was impeccable. One of the best tasting menus I have ever had the chance of experiencing. Art made my mother and I feel right at home. This was a truly unforgettable experience and I would like to thank Art and the entire team for making my birthday so special.
The food was excellent. They take all the traditional Thai dishes you know and present it in a way you would never think of. The papaya salad dish was a perfect example of this.
The actual dining experience is so unique. Having been to Thailand many times, the Bang Bang bus literally makes you feel like you're walking the streets of bangkok or floating down the canals of the floating market. It's like a magic school bus.
This is the most fun dining experience I've ever had. It's a silly idea, maybe, but it's different and special and their dedication, passion, and love really shows. You will never forget this meal.
Amazing, I just wish I could hear the tour guide better.
This is the most amazing meal/experience I’ve had in a long time. Amazing food, guide, time. So fun!!!
Fun and entertaining! It’s like getting a tour to Thailand and indulging in its culture in one. I believe it’s the first Thai tasting concept in NYC. The hosts were always attentive and accommodating. Great place for a date.

We had high hopes for Bang Bang, and it absolutely lived up. I’m a big fan of their sister location, Mao Mao, and this place is just as good if not better.
Food, staff, atmosphere are all fantastic. Dinner at Bang Bang and then a movie at nitehawk—try it out and tell me it’s not a perfect combo.
