I decided to try this place based upon a recommendation from a friend. I tried the Tom Kha soup with shrimp, crispy veggie rolls, crab fried rice and pad woon sen with chicken and beef. I thought the soup was good, but my shrimp was hammered and very tough and there were hardly any mix-ins! I mean it was mostly broth and I was expecting more vegetables and mushrooms, and very few were seen in my container. Very underwhelming. The crab fried rice wasn't bad. I found I had to mix all the ingredients together to get that perfect bite. If I didn't mix it, it didn't quite come together for me and felt some more seasoning could have been added. I truly enjoyed the vegetable rolls! Fried to perfection and weren't greasy! It was the right ratio of veggies to wrapper so every morsel was great! Plus the dipping sauce just added to the flavors of the rolls. The best thing I ate from my order was the pad woon sen. Man, the flavor in those noodles plus all the veggies and meat was sensational! I could literally eat a bowl of that and be happy. I'll have to try some different items next time, but I'm hoping the flavor will consistently be on point across the board.

Always a great visit! My favorites are the basil chicken app and the basil fried rice. Lots of variety with the menu. The blue rice is a nice treat. The owner is always friendly and sweet. Great ambiance for dates, friends, and family.

My companion really enjoyed their meal (I believe they had a tofu and rice dish). I found the chicken satay average. Would definitely eat here again, but would try something else.

Gave this spot a try for take out and I think I’ve found my new Thai restaurant in the area. We ordered a lot and nothing disappointed us. Everything was good and flavorful. The inside looked very clean even though I was in and out. Customer service was great as well

As someone originally from California and Las Vegas, where amazing Thai food is the standard, finding a bad Thai spot feels nearly impossible. Modern Thai is decent, especially considering the area where quality Asian food options can be hard to come by. While their food is solid, it's their service that really stands out—friendly, attentive, and clearly focused on creating a positive experience for their guests.

The flavors at Modern Thai are enjoyable, but they might lack the depth and authenticity you'd find in more competitive regions. Dishes like the Pad Thai and green curry are good, though not quite at the level you'd get in cities with more robust Thai food scenes. That said, Modern Thai brings an accessible and satisfying Thai dining experience to the neighborhood.

Honestly, I'd love to see more Asian options around here in general. Chinese and Vietnamese food are also underrepresented locally, so any addition helps bring some much-needed variety to the area.

I took my friend there because she wanted something quick after our hike, a lot of places were closed on Sunday. Sat down at the table everyone was nice and greeted us, it was my friend's first time eating Thai, so I recommended them to get either some type of curry or pad Thai stir-fry.. my friend ended up ordering the basil rice, which was very bland! While I had the Num Tok beef salad (delicious by the way!), we had also arrived there close to closing time, we had roughly an hour to order food eat and leave.

My friend wasn't satisfied with the stir-fried rice, so I asked the waitress to help us out to doctor it up instead of sending it back to the kitchen and trying to order something else close to closing time, so I asked about getting a side of curry sauce to fix the bland rice... the waitress proceeds to say that will be five dollars... as someone who used to work in the food industry, why would you allow your guest to order something that you know is not representative of your Thai food (or any food) specialty, and then try to nickel and dime us for trying to fix your bland food!! looking back on it, I shouldn't have tipped, because they clearly do not care about the customers' experience!! We wont be back, and I dont recommend👎🏽

What a wonderful experience! The staff was a delight. They were friendly and helpful on ensuring our food was ordered to our preference. If I could give six stars, I would. I placed an order online, and my gf asked if I could get cashews on her fried rice. So in the notes, I made a comment on her fried rice , that she would be upset with me if her food doesn’t have cashews. They don’t have cashews on any item on the menu or have them in the store. Instead of letting my gf be mad at me, they went out and sourced cashews for my gf’s food. Fella’s this restaurant will not let you down! Modern Thai, thank you. I’m sorry for any chaos my note caused trying to fulfill my order! I will make sure to leave a large tip for the inconvenience I placed on the restaurant with my comment.

Amazing Thai food, best we’ve had anywhere! Service is excellent. It’s in the Tyrone strip mall near Legacy Theatre but the atmosphere inside is lovely. Their coconut lemongrass soup is the best! We had the drunken noodles and Chili Bomb, both are outstanding. Server was knowledgeable in answering questions and helpful. Highly recommend—they just do an outstanding job all around.

Good Thai food. Different than other Thai places around here, which is nice. Dishes are brought to the table as soon as they have completed cooking rather than all at once and I really appreciate this. It is far more pleasant to have hot food than timed food that sits in the window.

This review is long overdue, but if you’ve ever ate somewhere that sticks with you afterwards (service/food) then you’ll understand. My husband and I visited with our infant a couple weeks ago when we were having extremely rainy weather. The storm was pretty bad, so I was surprised they were still open. Boy, I’m glad they were, we ordered takeout, but our experience was still amazing. They are the kindest people. They came out of the kitchen to greet the baby and say hello. One of the chefs is from Chiang Mai where I used to live for several years. It really shows in the food bc the taste is so authentic. Before I left they made my daughter a little rain hat. I plan to go back every time I have a Thai food craving. No where else. I promise. Even at the bottom of the menu the consumer service authenticity is written in black and write...if they make a mistake they will correct. However if you just don't like it, they can't fix that. I love it! Honest and great customer service!

Beautiful gem in Tyrone. I went in out of curiosity. I wanted to know how they made their blue rice and the owner showed me the beautiful tea flowers they use to make the rice blue. She even gave me a herbal tea bag to try the flower. I ordered the vegetarian green curry. Spicy and good!! I got the Thai iced coffee as well. The server allowed me to taste the Thai iced tea as well. So so good. I will be bringing my family back to dine in. Beautiful owner, lovely establishment, and fair prices!

Modern Thai is incredible!!! Can't say enough about this place. Just absolutely delicious! The flavors are just incredible, the presentation is beautiful and service is great! Jane the server is great!
The sauteed eggplant is so flavorful and delicious. The eggplant is Hey! I just got assigned a London trip. I get there Sunday, 26th. You free to meet up? just right. The Red Snapper is just as delicious. The sauce is mind blowing, the tamarind flavor is awesome. You'll want more rice just to finish all the sauce!! Another favorite is the Drunken Noodles. The noodles are cooked perfectly and are slightly chewy, giving it great texture and tastiness!

The Num Tok Beef is another favorite and must try! We also always get chicken satay, basil tofu, papaya salad, larb gai, green curry, yellow curry.

Surprisingly tasty! Was one of the best meals I’ve had in the area. We dined in and the service was great. It was really quiet and empty dining in but there were many people carrying out orders.

What a wonderful restaurant and environment! The employees and cook staff has excellent service skills. Me and my family visit often, our drive is over 40 minutes from stone mountain to Tyrone. It's well worth it! Haven't enjoyed this dinning with Thai food since living in California.

The food was pretty good, but honestly, the service has to get better. We waited over an hour just for two mains, and my husband and kids were seriously hungry. It felt like we were pretty much ignored during our meal, and the waiter didn't seem to care much. It wasn't even busy – we got there at 5 pm, and the place was nearly empty. It was particularly disappointing to observe later-arriving takeout orders being prioritized over our dine-in service. We didn't have a good time at all, and I don't think we'll be coming back.

I'm really impressed by this restaurant.
For sure, they get the broad strokes right. The food is consistently very approachable and tasty. Their decor is thoughtful and comfortable and their service is excellent. The prices are fair in my opinion.

But they also pay attention to the details: they have lovely glassware, silverware, and even their rice is their signature blue.

They even made some thoughtful substitutions where we had some allergy constraints. These little things made us feel like they cared about our dining experience, and weren't just accommodating our dietary restrictions.

Modern Thai a quality product, and easily one of the most enjoyable Asian restaurants I know of on the South side of Atlanta.

Authentic, fresh Thai cuisine! Like most, if not all places in Fayette are fusion. Modern Thai was far from fusion, had great portion sizes, prices were fair and most importantly the ingredients and flavor were fresh and savory! My husband and I had an amazing date night there and wished we knew about the restaurant earlier. Restaurant was clean and servers were kind and attentive. This will be our Thai go to spot! Thai food is arguably my most favorite. This place hits the mark. It is oddly placed in a little strip mall, but offers quite the experience. We showed up in the middle of a monsoon, so the place was kind of empty.. but the place is extra clean and very modernly designed. The appetizers (Rangoon + Coconut soup) were 5 star! Thai iced tea paired so well with chick fried rice (spicy level 3). Do NOT make the mistake of driving past this spot.

Our family tried out this restaurant for the first time. It was a dinner on a weekday and not busy at all. The food was good but portion was small. We got 4 dishes and spent ~$100 for the dinner (2 adults and 2 small kids) but didn't feel full. I have been to Thai Spice and Mr. Fuji many times and don't have this issue. Hopefully they work out this issue. Otherwise, I won't come back.

I live in South Florida where we have some of the best Thai restaurants around. This restaurant in Tyrone can hold its own against any of those big city Thai restaurants...... Just as good or better than the restaurants I frequent.

So simple to get to by car. Exactly 4.1 miles east and only 3 or 4 turns off the Collinsworth exit of I-85 South.

I have since moved to Atlanta and I go to Modern Thai on an average of once a week.

Great Thai restaurant. We really enjoy the food here and the wait staff is very friendly and attentive. I have had the drunken noodles and they were good but the pad thai noodles is the best! The calamari was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend eating here.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Tyrone. I was absolutely impressed by the skill of the chef in all dishes we ordered and the with customer service. The food was flavorful and made fresh. I lived in the area for 3 years and never found a place that could compare. We will definitely be back. I really wanted good Thai food and based on the reviews I tried this place. The basil wings had good flavor but were fried too hard. The dinner portion basil fried rice looked like the lunch portion for far too much money. No thanks. Not again.

The Sautéed Eggplant is amazing. The flavors compliment each other very well. Each dish is well balanced. The portion sizes we large enough for everyone to take home leftovers.

hidden gem bordering Tyrone, Fairburn, & Peachtree City. Very clean establishment with a wide variety to choose from. Flavorful & big portions. I have dined in with my family and picked up. Food is always made to order (it seems like) because it doesn’t come out quickly but also you’re not waiting 30 minutes for it. Holy basil is so good but it’s really spicy. My husband loves their spring rolls & coconut sticky rice. He also loves their peanut sauce. Kids love their thai tea & fried rice.

This place is so good! We were driving through, we live about an hour away but looked up Thai food and this place came up. No one was in the restaurant. It was nice, clean and staff was super friendly, if you live close by, you should frequent this restaurant. I got the Pad Thai, my husband got the Pad Se-ew, and my daughter got the yellow curry chicken! It comes with blue jasmine rice, which taste like rice! While my husband’s and my own dish was good. First time here and will not be the last. The service and food were great. This is a hidden gem and if you love Thai food, give them a try. You will not be disappointed.

The service was attentive. I opted for the duck and Jasmine rice. I enjoyed it very much and will return.

The food was great! The portion was not over the top, but I left full and happy. I got Drunken noodles. It is rice noodles that are flavorful and a little bit spicy. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

Wow what a place. Really authentic Thai place in the location that you wouldn’t think off. This place has a nice parking up front. Restaurant is clean and inviting. The chef/owner is awesome and friendly. Our food was really good. We had red curry, curry puff, Thai boat noodle and pad see eew. Highly recommend this place. The decor is nice. They have a limited selection for beer and wines but you go there for food for sure.

Delicious food and great service. I had the duck curry and it was delicious. It took them awhile to cook it, but while we were waiting our server gave us free appetizer which is really nice of her. My wife had the chicken pad thai and she likes it as well. Worth checking this place out if you live in this area or if you happen to pass by this place.

Comfortable dining area, and the food came out hot. The veggie stir fry is vegan friendly w/out fish and oyster sauce. Very good tofu.

Excellent food!! And beautiful, clean environment. We were happy with every bite. The appetizer sampler was delicious-everything was fried but not greasy. Just right! The crab rangoons are a must. The yellow curry chicken was moist and so yummy. The chicken fried rice included lots of veggies- loved it. This will be our new go-to restaurant.

The food not only looked impecable but was also delicious. It was rich, flavorful, and authentic. You can tell they use good quality fresh ingredients and stick to the real flavors. The pad Thai portion was big and the green curry came with blue pea rice. The place looks new, clean and organized.

I instantly loved this place after trying it with my husband, and they never disappoint. The service, the flavor, the options are all on point. I do have ish that they served pineapple fried rice like a lot of other Thai restaurants, but other than that I have no complaints. This is officially my favorite place.

Found this little gem in my neighborhood. Amazing fresh food, great customer service and cute little ambiance. I had the calamari, yellow curry chicken with blue Jasmine rice, Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee (to go). I highly recommend if you’re a Thai food lover, you won’t regret.

I used to frequent a Thai restaurant in college park eons ago but their quality/authenticity faltered after a change of ownership. I had difficulty finding a decent,well seasoned Thai restaurant. I’ve been all over Atlanta and the outskirts,but most places were too Americanized for my liking(too sweet/lacking spice). I decided to try Modern Thai and was happily surprised to have the Thai food that I greatly missed. So far,I had the red curry chicken,green curry chicken,Laos style papaya salad,and the Thai tea which is perfectly brewed in house.

Our server Aor S did a great job from seating to serve. Party of two at the hour of six. No wait for a booth. Immediately had drinks and order was taken. Shortly had my coconut soup and then both shared in rolls as appetizers — very good! Mains came out - each bite tolerably hot but great bites! Definitely a do over!

My husband and I tried this establishment for the first time and Loved it!! I wish I would taken a picture of our dish. The inside is simple elegance with new decor. There are a few vegetarian options. We tried the drunken noodle with tofu… add orange sauce

Good Thai food like most other Thai places around, except the blue rice.😉 Very friendly and very clean. If you’re not in a hurry you will really enjoy yourself here. Make sure you are not in a hurry when you dine in here. They take a very very long time for any order.

Had dinner here for first time. This is definitely the best Thai food I have had in Georgia. Ingredients are fresh and well presented. Slightly more expensive than other nearby Thai restaurants but worth the extra cost (example, jasmine rice rather than the rice served elsewhere).

Modern Thai was absolutely delightful! The food was delicious. Every bite was like a party in my mouth. The chef and I chatted after my meal. She is a lovely, down to earth person who is slaying in that kitchen! The atmosphere is casual but sleek and cozy. Perfect for a date night or an outing with foodie friends. Modern Thai won’t be a hidden gem for long so dine with them now before the 2 hour waits begin.

P.S. Ask how they turn the rice blue and try the flower tea.

This place is fantastic! Best Thai I’ve had in GA. Beautiful presentation and they use quality ingredients. Most things are organic/free range and you can taste the difference. I’ve come back several times and never been disappointed. I highly recommend the pad Thai and the Penang Beef.

Ordered from here for the first time and I was impressed! I ordered the crab fried rice which was good and flavorful but I did notice I was chewing lots of shells which was quite disturbing. Overall the food was great!

Have visited this beautiful restaurant more often than any other place in the area and have only had superb food here. Presentation and finishing touches made the difference. And mothers' day dinner was lovely. The rose I got looks so beautiful.

We visited this place based on a recommendation. The restaurant interior isn't elaborate but it was clean. Entrees were expensive but the ingredients were of high quality. Based on value for entire dining experience, I doubt I would return. However, the food is good. You will get a good meal here, be prepared to pay a premium.

I had Pad Thai - Chicken for the first time 😋. It was so good. And completely forgot to order a thai tea. Cute place the woman serving during lunch was sweet and its cool you can add your number and they'll text you when your food is done for pick-up orders im definitely going back tomorrow
