Family owned Fast Casual Laotian-Thai Restaurant in Dallas/Fort Worth
Trying a new restaurant and I ordered the Basil Fried Rice from a food delivery app. I ordered the dish with chicken and a spice level of "Spicy - 3." In my personal opinion, I like it spicier. However, since it is my first time ordering, I went with the middle of the road for spice level. I would order it spicier in the future.
The flavor was good and I'm glad I ordered the Basil Fried Rice.
I will order from here again and try something new.
I felt that the food was slightly overpriced. I paid almost $20 for a pineapple fried rice. Weird thing was it had raisins in it. Never seen raisins before in a Thai fried rice. Flavor wise it was good just didn’t feel it justified the price.
First visit today. Delicious! We had one of the curry dishes and one of the noodle dishes. Our family wants to go back and try more.

Awesome
Excellent

Great food.
They turned us away at 9:30 because they close at 10:00pm. Beware

The food was very good, especially the spring rolls. They have a good range of spice level.
If you love authentic quick and delicious Thai food then this is where you need to be.
The food and service were great.
The yellow curry, and laotian fried rice was too sweet, as far as what was ordered, it didn't seem very authentic, and would not recommend.
Some of the best tasting Thai food in Plano!
Love the Laotian fried rice and the heavenly beef jerky
Order fried rice with the option no veggies(peas and carrots) and go no veggies, no onions, and no white onions when they are all seperate options to choose from, I still wanted all the onions. The fried rice came out bland because of this.
I am from out of state, here for work. I found this place and all the food I have ordered from here is very good! The people working there are very nice!
Front cashier is bad. His customer service is foul. I know he probably doesn't want to do his job but he is still at work and he still needs to treat customers properly. Doesn't give a good and welcoming image to the establishment.
Also, all the food are overpoweringly sweet. That goes with most Thai or Lao food but there needs to be a balance. Will not recommend this place.

Don't waste your money or Uber eats or grub hub.
Visited this location with my son today. I normally visit the Dallas location in victory park! After eating the #22 Drunken Noodles! My stomach swelled and I barely could sit still! My stomata’s hurting so bad I had to lay down and even then I felt sick! Finally, after 45 minutes of feeling weak due to my stomach in knots and pain. I began throwing up everywhere and had to run to the restroom because i suffered diarrhea. Please be cautious here! I haven’t felt this sick in years. This was the only meal I had all day.
Excellent, delicious food, nice staff, in a cozy environment. Have been here at least 5 times now, and it's very consistent.
Good & consistent...
First time here and it was a great experience. We had the fresh rolls and shrimp blankets and the Laab salad-chicken and the pad kee mao. I did have to return the laab salad. It came out smelling like feet. I have never had it before but he said it's supposed to smell like that because of the seasoning. I didn't want to stomach it. They did replace it. The pad kee mao was absolutely amazing and will return for that! I truly cannot stop thinking about it.
Great spot for some spicy and tasty Lao and Thai food!!
Nice food!! Friendly people. I've had their food at the Dallas location too, and so excited for this one in Plano. Small place but clean and chic. Please try if you haven't.
Great food, always consistent.
Food was on point Laotian food. Perfect balance of flavor. We had the Lao fried rice, Kapoon, beef jerky, sticky rice and Thai tea. Everything replicate the taste of soul food. Definitely will come back. On sunny days don't sit by the windows it can get hot. Otherwise it was a great experience.
The food was great
Pad kee Mao was okay, but I don’t recommend the basil fried rice.
Friendly staff, quick service, and most importantly…delicious. I tried the yellow curry on my first visit and it was really flavorful. Level 3 of 5 heat was perfect—made me sweat just a little but didn’t blow up my palette. Definitely coming back.
Delicious, clean and great service
Delicious meal in a well crafted space, with some unique Laotian offerings on the menu in addition to the classic Thai dishes. It was a pleasure
Yum Yum Yummy… this has now become my favorite place for Thai food. The Pad Kee Mow is delicious, the quantity is good with a lot of meat or tofu and vegetables.
We tried ZAAP for the first time, and it was amazing! The pineapple fried rice was our group's favorite - super flavorful, the best pineapple fried rice I've ever had. The pad woon sen had tons of veggies and meat mixed in, not like a lot of places where it's all noodles and nothing else! The Lao sausage was flavorful with crispy skin, and the peanut sauce for the fresh rolls was delicious. The Lao style papaya salad was bold and flavorful. For all the dishes we could adjust the spice level, which made it a great place to bring the kiddos. We will definitely be back!
Service was super bad, we dined between Saturday 8.45 - 9.45 pm, as we entered the restaurant we were bluntly asked to order in kiosk which was not polite but still it’s becoming common in many restaurants so we were ok, then the food was served to us in disposable which again becoming common but the quality of the disposable is very bad, plates and soup bowls were made up of thermocol which is not supposed to be used for hot content and also very hot noodles were served in flimsy plastic togo container which started to deform because of food heat, they are trying to save cost but becomes health hazard for the customers who eat their food. To top it of we’re told last order was 9.30 even though the restaurant was open till 10 pm but we’re ok as it depends on each restaurant, then comes the final blow we were asked to leave at 9.45 pm as they want to clean and close the restaurant, that’s very bad service and never experienced any where else. I am guessing as most people do take away so I see the restaurant has 4+ star but I will say it’s barely 2 star only.
Nice atmosphere and set up. I ordered pickup and it was ready for us to go. I appreciate how they packed and sealed the items to make leak proof just in case. Great detail. Pricing is good, taste is good, service was good. I ordered the wings and rice dish. Three wings were tasty, not very juicy, but a dipping sauce could help that. You can choose your slice level and I think it was fairly accurate.
My go to pick for Thai/Lao food in the Carrollton/Plano Area. The riblets and pad see ew are my picks for a nice dinner when I’m don’t wanna cook.
Def need to try everything on the menu.
GREAT little spot! They are very FAST and TASTY.
Thai red curry was too good and so were the veggie rolls.
Best chicken soup I've ever had, and I'm not even exaggerating. We had their veggie egg rolls, zaap wings, pad thai, and chicken soup. I've been at the hospital since yesterday with my husband and today it was cold and rainy and I just needed something comforting and warm this definitely hit the spot. The service was quick and easy, the establishment was cute and cozy. I love an hour away and would gladly drive for this soup anytime.
Had a great experience in this place we got garlic riblets which had us almost fighting for them😅.
Red curry with beef was outstanding and the rice was perfectly cooked. The Lao chicken noodle soup is perfect for a rainy cold day. 100% recommend this place if you love Thai cuisine
Yummy!
Great food. One of my favorite places in the area. The crispy wings and the pineapple fried rice are my favorite.
As much as a picky eater that iam to a fault but at least i do not mind paying for great food and this place is an amazing Thai and Lao restaurant . The owner is sweet. The food is delicious and the price is reasonable. I always order take outs here. Highly recommend….
I walked in and the smell was awful. Smelled like sewer! I can’t eat anywhere where as soon as you open the door you’re hit in the face with stench. The reviews I saw on IG had the place like it was amazing. I’ll never know because I couldn’t get pass the smell.
Excellent, authentic Thai/ Lao dishes. Curries, fried rice: noodles, stir fries and also Lao street food items (yum!). Fast, reasonably priced, nice staff.
Meh! The garlic ribs were ok.
The Papya salad was waaaayy too hot!!!
I specified 2/5 on hotness...ended up chucking it!
There are too many food places in Dallas!
One and done!
I have finally found a place that serves a really good Tom Kha Gai! I have been in the Dallas area for just over 2 years and finally. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
They don't sell this slop on the streets of Thailand or Laos. Don't even think you can call it Thai or Laotian food. Their citizens don't claim ownership of this sugary slop.
Everything is so damn sweet. Can't taste the complexities of Thai/Laotian food because the sugar is overpowering.
ZAAP is probably the one of the sweetest that I've had. This is trash food. People who think this is good have the palate of a 6 year old.
The food was excellent. We got the pad kee mao, and it was fresh & tasted great. Try it out!
Very tasty, our new favorite place
Wonderful experience while traveling here for work. The restaurant was down the street from my hotel and the service and the food was incredible. I would highly recommend.
We've been to the Dallas location and we've been waiting for the Plano location to open since we saw their sign on the door. So happy they are finally in business now.
Food portion small. Wouldn't go back!
One of the 2 dishes we ordered was good.
Zaap kitchen is the best Thai food I’ve found with a lovely family owned feel. Great service and happy staff. I’m so glad they opened a location in Plano because I’ve missed it.
A M A Z I N G !! I ordered the green curry level 4 and tbh it’s almost TOO spicy for me and I LOVE spicy! But it does still have that sweet element that I look for in a curry. Definitely recommend! My boyfriend is not a curry person but he was eating out of my plate.
My boyfriend ordered the Thai basil fried rice and he LOVED IT! Spice level 4 - again tolerable but I would not exceed this level. He scarfed it down. He’s Mexican so he’s used to spice.
All in all, this spot is like 10 mins away from us and we will be coming back!
Nice place with good food! Best part is its super close to my home, so will keep visiting.
Very tasty and quick
