There are several places for sushi in the area but this one is by far the best. The selection of specialty rolls is substantial with great flavor combinations. Everything is always incredibly fresh and the consistency of the rice is on-point. I love that they don't make you feel bad about making substitutions like some sushi places (I can't stand cream cheese on sushi). I also adore the veggie soup they serve - fresh, crisp veggies in broth and crispy garlic - I could eat it every day. And it comes with a yummy little side salad! The restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly. I was a little disappointed that their menu was changed (I'm guessing due to COVID and staffing issues) to take away most of the Thai dishes but I'm hopeful that as they recover from these difficult times they will bringing them back. I will be a regular for as long as I live in this area.

Excellent sushi place! All the sushi rolls we ordered tasted truly fresh. The volcano roll was my favorite. We also had the caterpillar, the Tampa and the spicy salmon rolls. Really fairly priced especially if you go there during the happy hour. Super friendly and pleasant servers! Definitely going back!

New location leaves a lot to be desired. I tried it again after they've settled in over a year, and the sushi quality has really taken a dive. Service however is excellent and they're super kind and nice people. Will have to go back and try the Thai options. Prices are very reasonable considering the inflation these days.

I have stumbled across this location as I pass by every day for work. I Originally went and got two go, this second time I went in and it has good prices and sushi is good. I definitely found a good local sushi spot and hope to go again.

The Sushi was made fresh to order. Service was quick and friendly.

We used to love this place.
Recently they have increased their prices while both decreasing portions ans QUALITY. We ordered gyoza that was supposed to have protein in it and it was filled with chopped up noodles.
When you order to go, they will ring you up for items you did not order and then argue with you. On one occasion I ordered (per their menu at the time) shrimp tempura as a meal, apparently they had stopped serving it as a meal and only offered it as an appetizer, which as a customer I would onlu know if they told me since they hadn't updated their menu on their website. They didn't say anything to me when I placed the order, and they charged me for a full dinner meal but served me the appetizer version. When I tried to correct the issue the server and the owner yell and don't listen and treat you poorly. They told me they could give me a credit but would not refund me. I never was able to use that credit because they miraculously said it never happened
The menu is almost never correct and the do not question or communicate to make it correct.
We have been eating here 4-5 times a month since they opened and I'm officially done giving them the benefit of the doubt. Quit stealing from your customers.

I was so excited to give this place a shot after seeing so many great reviews. Wow. Utter disappointment. Total rip off for what they charge and I say this after working in Japanese steakhouse. The quality of the sushi is not even average and it is extremely overpriced for the cuts. I’ve literally bought sushi in Publix that was better than this place. Never going back.

Best sushi in Westchase / Oldsmar area. Great service and delicious food. Beer and wine available. The sexy man and Tokyo rolls are awesome. Their wonton soup is right up there with Yummy House.

Best Sushi

This place has really good sushi, however on the weekend you might be waiting over an hour. Idk if they were short staffed or people called out sick. But on a Saturday there was was 1 person making sushi, 1 waitress, and 1 cook in the back, and the place was packed. Also if you uber eats them, the sushi is always superbly packaged and good to the next day. If you have no place to be and want to wait forever, go here because it is very good sushi.

Love, love, love their sushi. But be prepared to wait a looooongggg time for your food. Couple running it still haven’t hired a server and I’m certain it kills their business. We normally order for takeout and give them over an hour but I cringe when being there and seeing how inefficient the place is run.

Please hire a server so the wife can assist in making sushi and you don’t lose business. Probably need a 2nd sushi person as well to assist.

The FriedRice was delicious, probably the best I've ever had at any restaurant! We also had the red curry and although I thought it was a bit sweet, it was also very flavorful I was very happy with that too. We aren't really Sushi eaters so I can only comment on the Thai menu.
The only small thing was the service was slow as far as waiting for our order was taken but once it was the food came out fast.
I will definitely be back and try more of their Thai menu items again. The quality and presentation was excellent and the lunch prices are reasonable. $13 for each served with a small soup and salad.

My first time going to their new location since they left Oldsmar... I've always loved their sushi... They had one person running the whole entire floor and the register. It makes for bad service when that happens. The sushi rolls aren't what they used to be. It was my best friend's birthday and I was hoping for a better experience from them.

I was so excited to go out for sushi and ended up super disappointed. I have never had such miniscule pieces of fish in sushi before. Our protein roll had so little fish and an inch and a half of rice. Our other roll was almost all cream cheese. The Rangoons were good and service was decent, but I felt sick to my stomach that I blew $70 of my hard earned money.

I had an amazing lunch! The service was excellent, and the Tornado Roll with baked scallop dynamite, smelt roe, eel sauce, mayo, scallions, and sesame seeds on top of a California roll was incredibly delicious. The Sunomono Salad was also a delightful addition. Highly recommended!

Everything is amazing. I haven't tried green tea ice cream that is this good. Perfect sweetness. Also, sushi is great. Spring rolls too. Must try place.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in the Clearwater Beach and Oldsmar areas. Cleanliness is key to any restaurant and this one is very clean. They sushi is very high quality. The staff is exceptional. I drive out of my way just to come to this location. They have 2 TV’s behind the sushi bar so my husband can watch games he likes. I am very particular about the quality of sushi and this place I can recommend wholeheartedly. Located in a clean modern building. This is a little gem!!

Went here for dinner on a Friday night. It wasn’t too busy. Loved the feel of the restaurant, it felt very intimate. It’s smaller than their previous location, but I didn’t mind at all. The decor was nice.

The food was great, I got Bahamas, Southwest and Spicy Tuna, all three were amazing.

My partner got the Sake Don was which also great, there were a lot of veggies on the side (radish, asparagus, cucumber, and a pickled vegetable (not sure what it was)). This came with a miso soup and a salad as well.

Overall, great first time dinning at this location. Everything was great from the food to the staff and the mood of the restaurant. Will come here again in the future.

Was told 45 minutes. I arrived, paid and waited another 45 minutes, and the restaurant closed. I got home and one of my rolls was made wrong.

Good only in person or you pick up. They don’t cater to delivery. 1.4 miles away. Can’t drive.. waited a full hour and half. No joke!! We called… they actually said they wait the full hour to cater to dine in! So good sushi. .. not for delivery. Get off Uber Eats if you don’t want their fees.

This is a little hidden gem not far from the county line a short drive up Hillsborough Ave.. I was introduced to this place by a friend and I have to say it was very good Sushi and Sashimi. I have been back several times and on each occasion the food was fresh and near perfect. Give them a try, you won't be sorry.

Sushi is always fresh and delicious! I crave this place like twice a week. Albino salmon roll is my favorite! My son orders the chicken fried rice and it’s the best in the area. Staff is super sweet and always remembers my order. One thing I can say is that it is a little pricey. But I keep going back for more!

I truly wish I could rate this restaurant better but I can’t. My husband and I ordered the dinner option of nigiri and two sushi rolls with soup and salad included. First and foremost it took an hour to get our soup and salad. When it arrived, the soup was lukewarm and the salad was so tiny (a cup of soup size half filled) that it was nearly about two bites. Once the rolls arrived they were plated beautifully but the taste was lackluster. The eel sauce was very thick and jelly-like, which took away from the texture of the tempura. The tempura roll was also lukewarm, which made it hard to enjoy. Overall the decor is gorgeous and the staff was very friendly but the service was excruciatingly slow for only having three tables and two to-go orders for the entire two hours we were there. Like I said, I wish I could give this a better rating but overall it wasn’t worth the $60 and two hours of our night.

I took some very good friends of mine to lunch here and it was absolutely fantastic. The service was excellent the restaurant was extremely clean and the food was fresh and delicious. Four people for lunch and a tip was $75 dollars , well worth it considering everything we got. Eat Local try them out you will not be disappointed!!!

I was excited when Oishi opened since they are 2 minutes from the house! I love sushi but my husband doesn’t. He gets the chicken fried rice which is super savory and I get the Rainbow Roll Bento Box! We also love the steamed dumplings too! Service is always great even if you have to wait a little bit as they are starting to get busier each time we go (we’ve been 4 times now).

Ordered a Bento sushi box #10 for pickup got home saw that the portion sizes were very small , so not enough food for $25.95 kind of a "rip off". However the flavor of the food was pretty good...

Oishi Sushi Bar has a clean and quiet atmosphere to enjoy decent sushi and thai dishes. Their menu range from appetizers, soups, salads, sushi, don bowls, bento boxes, to thai curry. My first visit was on a Sunday afternoon and the service was slow and the wait staff seemed a bit uninterested being there. I noticed that one of the wait staff also was making the sushi I ordered, though she didn't seem to the usual sushi chef there.

The crispy tofu came out very lightly warm and seemed to have been thawed out and hurriedly prepped. This affected the taste and the usual expected crisp was missing from these 'crispy' tofu.

The bento box had a very nice variety of different items just in the right portions for a bento box. The pad thai tasted quite nice, while the nigiri didn't taste as fresh as could have been. However, the presentation of the bento box was very pleasing to the eye.

The Keywest roll with spicy conch was my most favorite here. The crunchy and spicy conch add a very tasty combination of flavors with cucumber and sushi rice. I could have had two rolls of these.

The Fresh Salmon roll has double layers of fresh salmon (inside as well on top). Although this roll came recommended by some of my other yelp friends, unfortunately the salmon in this roll didn't taste very fresh to me. Though the taste wasn't terrible, but salmon tasted a bit 'un-fresh'.

I will return to Oishi again to try some of their thai dishes and have their Keywest roll again.

Sushi was phenomenal, probably some of the best I've ever had. The unfortunate part is that it took 30 minutes before our server took our order and another hour+ for it to arrive. They were not busy...5 stars for the food even with the horrible wait, it was that good. I just really hope their service times improve next time.

The place is nice and the staff is friendly but the food wasn't quite what we expected. The calamari was overpriced for the amount we received and on top of that not good at all. Really oily and overcooked. Their crab Rangoon is not what you would normally expect. They put curry powder in it and that was not explained on the menu.
The only thing I liked was the miso soup and seaweed salad. Not coming back unfortunately.

Ordered dinner via Uber Eats. Food was fresh and delicious. We picked up and the dining room and kitwere super clean. We had sashimi roll, volcano roll, veggie egg rolls and crab puffs. All was delicious and we will definitely eat here again soon :)

WOW this is some of the best sushi I've had. I eat sushi multiple times a week and pretty much eat at every sushi restaurant because I'm constantly wanting to find the best sushi. Although I find this area of Tampa to have pretty good sushi, this place has hands down been the best. They have lunch specials, happy hours, and HUGE portions. I typically eat 3 rolls but their chef rolls are are huge at a minimum of 8 pieces to 12 pieces a roll! Their sauce is really good and fits the sushi rolls well. Their sauce is a great addition and not over powering. They also offer a lot of different fish options in regular rolls like eel and escolar which I find other places don't even offer in rolls. Their price point is great and you can even get rolls with lots of fish options in one. Lastly, they usually have $0 delivery fees which makes it more inviting. I can't wait to have it again!

Place was a little hard to find at first. Did not have the new sign up yet but they did just add a new building. The lighting inside was soft and not hard on the eyes. The staff was nice and helpful and was taking care of every table not just their own. The food was great as well and the portions were a lot bigger than I was expecting! The water has a lemon taste to it which is a nice small touch.

Sushi was excellent. I was really in the mood for Thai but they were only serving pad Thai or friend rice. They may want to think about taking the Thai off their name of the aren't going to serve it.

I’m not sure if this place changed owners or what has happened but we were devastated when we called to place an order tonight to learn that they have gotten rid of all of their Thai food. We use to eat here weekly and then missed the last few months due to being so busy. Their Thai food was incredible and it could easily be made vegan so it was easier to accommodated everyone in our family. Not the smartest move for them to change their menu. We are so bummed it makes you want to cry. The green curry was the best we had ever had. Looks like we have to go back to our old Thai places. We are begging you to please bring back the Thai dishes 😭😭😭

I ordered panang curry (takeout) a couple months ago and it was so delicious... some of the best I've ever had.
Fast forward to last night, I was craving great Thai food and so we decided to go there for date night...to find out they no longer serve Thai food...bummer... But we stayed and ordered the (grilled) salmon teriyaki and a sushi bento box. It was all terrible. The (not grilled) salmon was mushy and cold, veggies were also cold and over steamed, sushi wasnt fresh at all. We literally brought it home for the dog & cat to enjoy.

Besides having wonderfully fresh food, the service is great and an added plus is their adherence to safe Covid processes.

Good sushi and Thai food. The soda is in cans so there are no refills.

This place is absolutely delicious!! The rolls are nice and big. The prices are very reasonable for the portion size. I got the volcano roll amc the super protein roll... AMAZING! We also tried the green curry and again very delicious. You must go!

I found this restaurant when trying to find something to eat near a friend in the Oldsmar area. I'm always a little apprehensive about sushi as much as I love it because of concerns over the freshness and quality of the seafood. The location is a little hidden in a larger strip mall. From the outside my expectations were a little low. This isn't so much because of them, but because of the store front. I was pleasantly surprised when we entered. Everything seemed clean, and I appreciated the layout of the restaurant. The staff was very polite, and were seated promptly. The menu has a very large variety of rolls and Thai food. We opted for the pick 2 lunch special which I believe was $11.95. It included your choice of 2 rolls from that list, a small salad, and a small soup. I have to admit that when they brought them to the table I was a bit amused at how little they were, but come to find out later they were the perfect size.The salad had a ginger based dressing that was good. Lettuce and produce in the salad was very fresh. The soup more like a broth with small pieces of seaweed, and soy. When they first brought the rolls I thought they were on the same plate. Then the second plate came out and I realized we both got to full rolls as a part of the special. That made me realize why the soup and salad were smaller. The lunch rolls were very generous in portion size. The seafood was fresh, the avocado was creamy and perfectly ripe. The cucumber as crunchy and clean, and the rice was nicely cooked. This was very pleasing experience. I highly recommend the lunch special, and based on this experience have every intention of going back to try their dinner menu. I would highly recommend giving this place a chance

Service was good. However the starters too oily.

Took over an hour for me and gf to finally be served. I'd give 1 star but the waiter apologized and the food was meh. The kitchen seemed completely focused on fulfilling online to-go orders instead of customers actually sitting inside the restaurant. There was only one other table sitting inside besides us. Shouldn't have to wait over an hour for 3 sushi rolls or at least inform us there will be an excessive wait time.
