Consistently recognized as a favorite Thai restaurant in Washington, DC, Beau Thai serves fresh, authentic, made-from scratch, and delicious Thai cuisine. We are open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, feature a full bar of craft cocktails, great wines and a locally-focused beer list, and offer dine-in, delivery and carryout service.
Quality, tasty Thai food served by a friendly team. Great options for vegetarians. Two of us ate on a weekday for lunch, and there wasn’t much rush. Conveniently located in Mount Pleasant, the outside dining was comfortable, and the street not too busy. I had the drunken noodles, which was served in more than ample portions and quite tasty. Would go again when in the area.
We had a fun Valentine's Day meal here! Got a seat at the bar right away and the delicious food came out quickly. Special thanks to Hannah for the great service, reccs and conversation. We ended up lingering for much longer than planned!
I used to love this place until they messed up my order twice. Each time, all I was offered was “sorry”. No thank you, I don’t want to spend $19 on a meal when I asked for tofu and get chicken instead. I guess they don’t care about vegans. I would have appreciated a reimbursement or credit to a proper meal that I asked for. Not eating here again. And I live in the MTP neighborhood and used to recommended it to everyone. Not anymore.
A wide selection of delicious Thai dishes with generous portions around ~$17.
You can’t go wrong with their classic pad thai which I prefer to order with chicken, although their other dishes such as their lemongrass chicken and duck rolls are also items I would recommend!
There are many tables inside for smaller parties, and even an outdoor patio area near the road.
The serving staff was very nice and check up on us well and our food was served to us very quickly. I look forward to coming back and trying some curries next time 😋
As others have said, delivery is a completely different experience from dining in. The food is consistenly half to two-thirds of the portion you get in the restaurant, and dishes are very hit or miss. Definitely pass on delivery.
Our friend recommended this is the place where we should have Thai food, so we were so excited to be there for the dinner. The place is nice and was crowded, but not too much. The food that we ordered were good, but everything were two sweet, and the dessert was ok! However, we still have a good time and enjoy it. I’d go there again to try different dishes. 🥰
Este lugar no tiene manager que se tome el tiempo de revisar las órdenes para llevar siempre salen incompletas las bolsas de papel que usan tienen un mal olor como a animal muerto sería bueno que alguien revise eso
In this restaurant the food is good but the takeout service is terrible. They never placed the complete order. The bag they use has a bad smell. I got home after 9 hours of work and realized that the order was incomplete. The least I expected was for the manager to tell me that someone would bring the rest of the food to my house, but they didn't offer me anything, not even They didn't even apologize, I had to go back to pick up the missing part. of the order.

Food was amazing!! Service was great. You're not going here for the ambience, but it doesn't matter, because the food is so damn good.
Exelente muy higiénico muy bueno

The food is SO good. Better than your average Thai restaurant. My fav menu items are the Khao Soi, and Udoms curry
The Beef Noodle Soup with a slightly sweet, cinnamon and pepper broth, topped with hearty chunks of beef and crunchy greens was a perfect pick-me-up on a cold dreary winter evening. The serving size was generous!
I’ve ordered here for over 6 years and the crap I received tonight was a slap in the face. No picture because I immediately threw the food away. I ordered Spicy Seafood fried rice, the 2 shrimp 3 scallops and 3 squids were all overcooked. The rice was extremely bland and the chili powder didn’t help at all. I’m not sure who had a bad day in that kitchen but I wasted $30. McDonald’s would never. Coming from an actual Chef, you all should be ashamed serving anyone what I was served.
Best Thai restaurant in the area. Staff is friendly & helpful. Try any of the curry’s they’re all good.
Great spot :) They accommodated their hours one time when I was there. One of my favorite restaurants in Dc
I just paid $21 for Chicken fried rice and to add shrimp. They gave me TWO shrimp and when i called to complain, they confirmed that $4 extra dollars only gets you two shrimp. I’m livid. Be ware- it’s a scam. If you order from here, confirm this.
I went here today and was very disappointed with the customer service I received from one of the staff that's at the register. I received my order and there was a problem with it so I called and told them, I asked them if I could have oysters sauce on the side and that would solve it for me. They told me no to the sauce and said to bring back the food, I told them I was hungry and just needed the sauce, I didn't want to be wasteful. The employee who was on the phone was a 20 something old 5"7ft Latino guy who started to use really old slang words to me. I told him that I was already on my way back to the restaurant and just needed the sauce, I had already left my food at the house and had started walking back to the restaurant since the employee originally said yes to the sauce, he just make sure so he asked his team. So I explained to him that I had already left my house and the food and was on my way, he said " THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH US, YOU WALKING BACK AND FOURTH IS YOUR OWN PROBLEM" I was confused as to why he would think it's okay to talk to people like this, he is a terrible representation of the restaurant that I go to twice- four times a month.
You don't have to worry about seeing me again, I will not be coming back here. There is much better food in silver spring
This place sucks. It is over priced. My yellow curry with tofu had, like four pieces of raw tofu and three chunks of potato in it for $18. When I asked if the crispy noodles that come on the khao soi could be added, the response was "unfortunately, no." It was just weird. I wouldn't go there again and I wouldn't suggest it to a friend. Maybe an enemy, but not a friend.
The best in the area
Popped in for a weekday day date night. Love the food here, never had a bad meal here. They were even playing jaws on the tvs.
Decent place for Thai lunch, with reliable quality food and outside terrace.
Really great food & amazingly kind staff !!! Highly recommend
We had a delightful dinner this evening. All the dishes were delicious and properly seasoned. My only complaint is when I asked for Nam Pla ( fish sauce) I was told there was none available and was offered soy sauce instead. I find it very difficult to believe that a Thai restaurant would not have nam pla available for its customers.
One of my favourite restaurant in town. The food is delicious and the service is great, would highly recommend. My favourite is the drunken noodles!
Delicious food, reasonable prices, excellent space. Best pad Thai I’ve had in DC. Highly recommend!
Our visit to Beau Thai was a hit! The restaurant sits in a gorgeous neighborhood. We tried green curry, spicy fish, papaya salad, and a tasty deep fried shrimp appetizer. Each dish was packed with flavor! Our waiter was friendly and kept things running smoothly.
Ordered a pick up order amounting $40 and the person who checked me out added a tip unknowingly to the order, amounting to $63 without my knowledge. I’m fine with tipping, however the customer should be the one to make that decision especially on a pick up order.
One of my absolute favorite Thai restaurants in DC. The food always tastes so fresh and has a great balance of flavors that any good Thai dish should have.
The green curry, and drunken noodles have a good amount of spice. Other favorite dishes include the Tom Yum soup, the kanom jeeb, and the mango sticky rice.
Great for both dining in and takeout.
I love Beau Thai — it’s my Mt. Pleasant neighborhood go-to for takeout. The food is really good (especially the pumpkin red curry when it’s in season) and the people who work there are so nice! I accidentally ordered pickup from the wrong location today and they kindly remade the order for me here.
Local grande y algo desangelado pero con muy buena comida. Los currys y la ensalada de papaya están ricos. Muy recomendable
A Thai restaurant stands, quite the delight,
With dishes authentic, flavors ignite.
Staff friendly and kind, a rare find,
Spicy or bland, they'll make it just right.
Perfect for dates, it sets the mood,
With ambiance lovely, and exquisite food.
Each bite a treat, an amazing feat,
In a setting so wonderfully imbued.
I had pad Thai. It’s the worst pad Thai I ever had.
A wide selection of delicious Thai dishes with generous portions around ~$17.
You can’t go wrong with their classic pad thai which I prefer to order with chicken, although their other dishes such as their lemongrass chicken and duck rolls are also items I would recommend!

The serving staff was very nice and check up on us well and our food was served to us very quickly. I look forward to coming back and trying some curries next time 😋
Ordered take out from here. The drunken noodles was spicy and had a nice kick to it. The yellow curry was flavourful. Would definitely order again.
The guy with the glasses racist I walked in to pick up a food and I was telling him the names without me finishing my sentence he cut me and let me I see I showed him but then he’s acting like I was there to steal a food then I told him next time when somebody talk let them finished Fitst he said get out hore and we start going back and forth this is ppl think they better than everybody just cos I was there to pick up a food that won’t make me less or a tiffs
Correcte
The food here is good, one of my favorite pick up spots for Thai food. Ive been coming here for a couple of months and the customer service has completely gone down hill. From placing an order to picking up the order. The prices have increased which is fine, but to portion control the food and nit pick everything is outrageous. Paying a premium for said food and receiving less is not ok.
Would give 4 stars but pork belly was a crime against humanity
Friendly staff. Good food. Full bar.
As ever, it was great. And our lovely waiter was charming, as always.
Great basic Thai food.
The curries at beau Thai are always rich and flavorful. The flavors are super well developed and you can actually taste the difference between the curry options by the flavor (not just the color 😆). The red and yellow curries are the best.
The staff hear are always helpful and tell you about their great seasonal specials. If worried during COVID, they take safety seriously and have a big streatery.
Good food, nice atmosphere. We really enjoyed our visit.
Great local Thai restaurant that has really great pineapple fried rice and pad see yu. The tofu appetizer is also really yummy. Additionally for brunch, the crispy roti is delicious crunchy and sweet.
Excellent Thai place in a charming neighborhood. Larb Gai was very good but on the spicier side for my pallete (salty as well). Papaya salad was fresh and well balanced — can’t go wrong ordering that. The red curry duck was sweet and savory w grapes and pineapple in the curry — an interesting take on it that was very good. All in all an excellent meal! (Edit: increase prices not justified)
My favorite neighborhood Thai spot!
On my first night in Washington D.C., I found this place within walking distance of my Airbnb, and I could not have been happier! For the appetizer, I ordered the vegan spring rolls and then their yellow curry for the main course. I loved every second of my time here. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was pleasant! I have been home from my trip for a couple of weeks now, and I still think about this place. I cannot wait to go back once I am in town again!
We had steamed dumplings, duck rolls, and garlic shrimp. Plus a couple of cocktails. This food was off the charts. Delicious.
Great reliable food, but I've ordered delivery from here multiple times, and every single time, they have forgotten a drink item. Same routine, I call them, they offer a refund instead of bringing the missing item, but can't replace the item. This becomes extremely annoying after multiple times of the same situation. This last time, they even told me that I can place the order again, but then I went online to place it, and they closed ordering. I called back and said that I followed instruction, but then they said there was nothing they could do and were extremely unhelpful. I'm a repeat customer, but sadly, this has happened too many times now, and I'm skeptical of continuing supporting their delivery service if they haven't remedied the flaw in their system. Would not suggest delivery.
Bad customer service. Lady asking customers to use another door in a rude way , looked angry 😠
Worst thai food and thai staff I ever experienced . Nothing beautiful about over- priced , bad quality , thai food , with some kind of rude boss lady thrown in there just to make it worse.
The food is spot on and I have literally never been disappointed with flavor or quality. The dine-in experience is also wonderful
My only complaint is that I ordered delivery and paid a dollar for a side of "extra chile powder" and got about a teaspoon in a container. Feels pretty skimpy.
Quality thai restaurant in Mount Pleasant DC neighbourhood. Don’t let simple decor to mislead you. Freshly cooked and very tasty dishes. Massaman curry is superb and so is mango margarita.
I’ve been here 3 times in a year. I absolutely love it. The food is awesome, the staff is great, and the atmosphere is fenomenal. Mount Pleasant truly has amazing venues!
Always pleased with this place. I've had drunken noodles before but not from this place. So, I tried them. Tasty but too hot for me! Spicy really does mean spicy. The friend I was eating with and I switched entrees, as the Udom dish was too bland for him (but not for me). So it worked out well! Great food..I've tried several entrees, soups, and appetizers. But if in doubt, ask about the spice level.
The Tom ka soup was good but really small portion the chicken satay was good flavor but the peanut sauce was mediocre. My biggest problem was the pad see u with beef and the mean was rotten and not edible. I just had to throw it away. This place is mediocre at best.
Good place, very tasty food
Cheap asian takeout quality with a fancy veneer. The quality of the food is poor, the sauces are canned and meat is low grade. They sacrifice quality ingredients and add extra charges to maximize profit. This place is fine if you don't care about food, but fancy cocktails and modern dining space don't make up for poor quality cuisine.
Excellent food and service! But, surprisingly, the absurdly bad interior design and music can really make you feel uncomfortable anyway.
My go-to Thai restaurant in DC. I could live off the pad se ew and mango sticky rice. Hope the green salad comes back someday!
their thai tea is SO GOOD
perhaps my favorite place in the district, consistently delicious and relatively affordable
Probably some of the best Thai I've ever had. Portions are a little small and some food didn't come out as hot as I would've like, but extremely authentic. Has plenty of vegan options as well.
One of our favorite places in town for takeout or quick place to eat in. The yellow curry is our absolute favorite and you can’t go wrong with the pad Thai or drunken noodles. The dumplings as a starter are amazing, but pretty small. The service is great and they have beautiful indoor and outdoor seating.
First time back since before the pandemic. We ordered a few different dishes and I'm sad to say the only tasty thing was my cocktail. Their food used to be fresh and full of flavor. Sadly, much has changed and not in a good way.
Mango sticky rice is the best👍
Delicious drunken noodles and curry dishes! Nice people and outdoor seating.
Love Beau Thai so much! amazing food and great people.
Great food!!! Fast service and welcoming atmosphere!!!
Long waiting time, they don't make the order on time
The food was decent, but we had to wait an hour for our pick-up order with no updates and very unhelpful staff.
Great food! Not greasy at all and the flavors on point!
The food here was really delicious and the restaurant was very beautiful and clean inside. I got the drunken noodles and it was pretty spicy and had a lot of flavor. The Thai tea was sweet, slightly sweeter than I prefer but it was still delicious. I would definitely come back to try more items on the menu!
My favorite place to get Thai takeout in DC. For takeout, make sure to call, even if you order online.
The food is delicious 😋, every time. I always order a few items because I can never decide on a favorite. Their pumpkin curry in the fall is my go-to order when it's available, but the rest of the year I will order pad see ew, green curry, drunken noodles, and duck rolls.
I pretty consistently have to wait when I put in takeout orders online. Even when I arrive after the appointed pickup time, I usually need to wait 15-20 minutes for them to actually make my order, which is rarely ready when I show up.
Beau Thai has been out go to for years now. Their family culture it’s so inviting that you just become a regular and friend with the staff. Our favorite dishes here are the noodle bowls, which are hearty and warm bowls for any cold and rainy day. The beef noodle bowl is our go to, but the coconut curry noodle bowl is spicy and super tasty as well.
A serious contender for my favorite Thai food in the DMV area. If you like me can't get enough green and panang Thai curry, I'd strongly recommend you check this restaurant out. They get the flavor just right. (They are also one of the only restaurants in DC that has yellow Thai curry.)
We hadn’t had Beau Thai since before the pandemic, so we thought we’d give them a try instead of our usual spot (Pantry Thai), and unfortunately were left incredibly disappointed. Somehow everything was completely lacking in flavor - it should have been obvious I guess when the pad see ew was weirdly colorless. We had the pad thai, tom kha, and duck rolls too.
Food wasnt delivered on time across the entire party of 6, portions are small. My mother got her drunken noodles 5 minutes after ordering. Two other entrees came out 15 minutes later and the remaining 10 min after the 2nd batch. Manager went the CHEAP route and offered sticky rice (YUCK!). Complete DISAPPOINTMENT.
Phenomenal pad see ew
Tasty Thai spot with consistent taste and delivers well.
Lately, they have been messing up with orders. One pickup did not include the entire order. Recent pickup was taken by delivery pickup person. Had to wait 20 additional minutes for them to make it all again. Manager did not even comp any food or offer good customer service for the inconvenience. Food is always good....customer service is poor when they mess up.
Very authentic based on my extensive experience in Thailand. Very good service too. Just be cautious to ask for non spicy if you are not used to real Thai dishes
Authentic flavor
We’ve ordered through DoorDash several times and the food still comes piping hot and extremely well prepared. The flavors of the red and green curries are well balanced, especially with a dash of lime and fresh cilantro (which I would really love to see added to dishes when delivered). The spice hits just right and the papaya salad has a nice crunch, tang, and sweetness. Really great food!
We made our first trip to Beau Thai on 7th St, years ago and have been ordering delivery from the Mt. Pleasant St location during the pandemic. This has been one of our go to places for a few months. Everyone in our family has collective and individual things they like here. Anytime we are thinking movie night or just relax and not cook during a weekend, we have been getting Beau Thai delivered. It has normally been excellent quality, but after our last order, a couple weekends ago, I'm not sure we'll be back. During the week I pulled the fried rice from the fridge, put a spoonful on my plate, and thought it looked odd. It became apparent that there was a large bug, cooked onto a piece of chicken in our rice. Large enough that a chef should have seen that without difficulty, cooking it, when it entered, or if it was on an ingredient before it was put in, and thrown the batch out instead of serving it. We really liked this place.
Great food,
The food is way too salty…
Spicy and delicious.
Uncomfortable chairs. Overpriced.
Good
I had the pad se ew 2 weeks ago and I'm still thinking about. The wait for online ordering can be an hour, but that's a testament to how good it is. My roommate loves the dumplings, and we've had a few other things we like. One time I waited 25+ minutes longer than expected and they were good about it without me saying a word. Love this place
Tried to stop and support one of my favorites spots but was told at 8:33p no more dine in service. Oh well
Delicious!
Great food, service, and ambiance, as always!
Went here tonight, and the front desk said it was okay if I ordered to go at the bar. Got there at 9:30, give or take two minutes. Waited for several minutes to get anyones attention. Saw the bartender poor beer like she had just turned 18 and don’t know what she was doing. By 9:42 (after several failed attempts to get someone’s attention) she told me the kitchen was closed but she’d be happy to get me a drink. Yeah, no thanks sweetheart. I might be willing to pay for the overpriced, often flavourless food, but not buying an overpriced beer by a girl that had so much trouble pouring beer she couldn’t get to me for 5+ minutes. Went to the cheap Chinese place down the street and I actually think the food was better there, especially if one wants to put cost into the mix.
Their food is delicious. I am in love with their pineapple rice.
My comfort food. Can't go wrong with anything here.
My favorite restaurant in the city. This place has such good Thai food, that I legitimately can't eat Thai anywhere else. All other places pale in comparison. Do yourself a favor and stop in.
Ok so today I ordered pork belly appetizer and spicy seafood fried rice. The pork belly was very hard and the sauce that comes with it was sour and disgusting. The rice had squid that was CRUNCHY! Anytime I order from this place I get the spicy rice and I’ve never had squid that was so crunchy or a problem with my order period. The rice was bland and that’s also a first. I only received ONE shrimp like what am I paying for???? I’m not sure who the chef was today but please do better. The food is not cheap and I expect my moneys worth.
Reliable, friendly.
Don't eat here unless you like cold food after a 20 minute wait. They popped it in the microwave and it took another 20 minutes...
Very good food but the in person dining experience is very odd, the wait staff gaslight you and try to make you feel bad/wrong about basic questions and requests.
This place is a gem! Every course was full of flavor. Our entire family loved it-even our picky teens! Great service and atmosphere too.
Foods okay, doesn’t really have much spice. I think it’s a over priced (even factoring in generally higher prices for thai food) and the portions are TINY. The last time I got soup it was basically just very expensive broth.
Slaps
Order spicy rice & it was not fresh it was reheated from lunchtime 🥲
Out of 4 casual Thai places that I tried in DC, this is by far the best. Love their Pad Se Ew and Pad King
Spring rolls...the best!
Came to this location to pick up for Uber and saw everyone lined up outside in the cold waiting…that was an automatic cancellation of the order for me…..inhumane treatment at its best.
Tasty drunken noodles and pineapple rice. Decent atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Best Thai food in town. Airy space. Friendly wait staff.
One of the best Thai restaurant in DMV area, clean cozy, delicious food and friendly staff.
I ate two dishes alone outside. While I ate two dishes, the asian server didn't come to give water even once. She didn't served me at all. When I paid the tip and began to input my e-mail address for receipt, then she expressed frustration and threw the card reader to me and then went to other table to receive order and didn't come back until I left. I am an asian. I don't know why the asian server treats asian clients bad. She was very kind to other white customers. It was the most terrible experience in the US.
A bit overpriced, I paid extra for extra protein in my noodles and there was very few pieces of tofu and veggies
Solid spicy thai food. It will definitely hit you the next day. :)
I will never order from here again. While I was mid sentence she was quick to want to say bye and hang up the phone on me. I btw cancelled my order I had made via the delivery app. It wasn't about the money at this point. This was just ceappy customer service to ensure I could have my allergies concerns answered and to get a side of chilli powder with the pad thai.
I will never order from here again since employees here have a habit of hanging up the phone.
Oh the person lied about hanging up. I called a second time and they put me on hold. That was after they initially had hung up on me.
On the third call this came to light. And I will never order from here. Ever.
I have ordered uber eats. Spicy eggplants was $14 dollars and no meat… VERY SMALL CONTAINER (APPETIZER SIZE) FEW EGGPLANTS AND NO MEAT. VERY DISAPPOINTED! AND DEFINITELY NOT ORDERING AGAIN!
***I’M SORRY BAAN SIAM THAI RESTAURANT IS WAY BETTER!!!***
My go-to for yummy pad thai. Great neighborhood spot. Really nice people.
Ok Thai food but extremely overpriced. I assumed an $8 wonton soup would be a large container as it’s mostly broth but it was actually the smallest soup container I’ve ever seen. And $8 spring rolls were 3 tiny bland rolls. We were shocked at how much money we spent there but were still hungry afterwards
