Laid-back chain serving familiar Thai dishes from mild to spicy, with gluten-free & vegan options.
The boys and I had a great meal. Shrimp wraps and dumplings to start. Tofu and vegetables for me was great. (Level 2 was just right). Leo’s duck dish really hit the spot for him, super tender. [and it was great running into James] Angie’s team always keeps things welcoming.
I ordered wings of paradise. These are not wings. These are drummettes. I asked before I ordered were These wings. They said yes. These Asian restaurants don't knw the difference between wings and drummettes. The wings were overcooked. They were hard. Second the rice was gummy and over cooked. The shrimp rolls were the only good item from my order. First time going to this place and the absolute last time as well. Highly disappointed. I skipped lunch at work just to eat here. Never again!!!.
So my curry was amazing…. The taste!!! CHEFS KIDS. But I paid $3 for extra shrimp an got 3😂 I would have just not gotten any cause it really irritated my soul!! But other than that.. everything was great!
Ordered take out after long time and was shocked by the quantity of food. They have made the take out containers about a third smaller but average cost of each entree was $17! Very disappointing, how cheap. In addition, fried rice was too oily and tofu hard as leather to chew. Not ordering any more.
We shared a couple lunch specials. You get a choice between soup or a thai salad with it. My wife got the soup and I went with the salad, both very good. The Princess of Siam was very good, came with rice and a lot of grilled veggies.... and the chicken Teriyaki was amazing, it came with rice and veggies. Both meals came with a crispy egg roll.
Bloated price and poor taste noodles and curry.
Rating this place to comparable Thai places in Houston, this is above average and I would continue to come occasionally.
Absolutely perfect!!!

Condiments are extra.

Good vegan options when you get it with Tofu. I love the Panang curry.

Always excellent profesdional service.

Vegetarian pad thai tasted of fish sauce, which our server refused to believe. Also cleanliness can be majorly improved. Saw a couple of small roaches walking by our table. We regularly go to the Pearland location of Thai cottage and have found it to be far far better.
Great Great food. Excellent service
AWSOME SAUSE
I love this place! Very delicious food! I work close by and i order through their website and they have it ready for me to just pick up! Highly recommend. I love that they have levels of spiciness and i can modify acording to my spicy mood that day!
My family and I have been going to Thai Cottage bellaire for years. It's definitely the best of the Thai Cottage locations. I've tried other locations around Houston and the dishes lack flavor. The staff is delightful, especially Miss Angie. She's so wonderful! She gives the best recommendations and always remembers my orders. I've tried most of the dishes but my favorite ones are the Red Curry Beef, chicken princess Siam, Drunken Noodles, Wings of Paradise, Cashew Beef and shrimp Tom Kha Gai soup. Honestly everything is delicious! Make sure you get everything level 3-4 spicy so you can really enjoy all the flavor. Their Thai tea and sticky rice with mango are also a must. Miss Angie will always let you know if the mango is ripe and in season and if it's not she'll recommend something just as tasty.
Just there, not a fan of Asian delicacy
Good place for Thai food
My family are regulars here but one time when we got the garlic fried fish for takeout I found a GIANT bug in my rice. This place is not clean and they did nothing about it. Eat at your own risk!!
Love the food
Best Thai place in town! I'm never disappointed! Red curry and Pad Thai is always delicious.
I enjoyed the Tom-yum soup and steamed pork dumplings for lunch. The restaurant was clean and the employees were very friendly.
red curry had no flavor and tasted bad, very disappointed, pad thai was pretty decent tho
Always a great experience for me!
The most under seasoned food I’ve had! I bought $80 worth of food which included the grilled shrimp with veges! No season what so ever! And the fish cake tastes like soap, too heavy on the basil and belongs in the trash!
Always amazing
Eat there every time we are on The Woodlands. Great food, Great staff.
Second time here. Enjoyed the place. The yellow curry was awesome. The vegetable egg rolls were delicious. The service was absolutely phenomenal. I upped the spice level, but it had a little kick not too much. The raspberry flavored sweet tea tasted great. Make time and get some good food.
Food was not on point. Everything was overwhelmingly sweet. Pad thai was sweet and too sauce-y. Instead of stir fried rice noodles, it tasted more like rice noodles simmered in overly sweet sauce. Has potential but execution needs work.
Consistently good food. We come here regularly. Their soup if the day is usually excellent, always at least very good. My wife loves their green curry. I like their tofu and eggplant dish, medium spiciness. They have ask the classic Thai dishes and I've enjoyed what we've tried.
Wings of paradise, yellow curry, pad kee mow are my go-to. You're welcome. Place is amazing.
Yummy yummy...
Not a culinary marvel but definitely a delicious meal.
My go to Thai restaurant close to home. Great curries and traditional Thai dishes.
Tried to place an order online and it was declined but a processing charge came through to my bank. When I called to see if they would process the charge anyways so I can have my order, they said no and that I would have to wait for the charge to drop off or place a new order. So now instead of $28 coming out, $56 came out and thai cottage "claimed" they never received my order. I never received a confirmation number and all they had to say was don't worry, the money will go back eventually and we can't make an order because it didn't come through on our end. When I tried explaining, the lady just said "you say you understand but you really don't understand." Not worth the hassle for the fake thai food.
Nice ambiance, average food, terrible service. The place is cute and nicely decorated, with booths to sit at. My main complaint is the service- we had to wait a significant amount of time to be seated, and our waiter forgot about our order specificities twice. When I asked about something he had forgotten, he interrupted with, “I know,” and went on his way. Once we checked the receipt, we noticed he had even charged us for the extra rice that he had forgotten to bring us. We never received it.
He never checked in on how things were going and we had to flag him down for anything we needed. It wasn’t busy, so I don’t know what the issue was.
The food was alright, we tried the Roasted Duck Curry and the Chili Basil. Both were mid-par, nothing notable.
Overall our experience wasn’t pleasant at all- the service ruined the experience. We won’t be coming back.
I think they have the best pad thai in town!
Good thai food!
Zero stars.
I used to frequent this establishment when it was at its original location. My friends and I would eat lunch here at least once a week ( many many years ago ). And back then, you would cross your fingers in hopes that you could get a table that was available. That is how good and popular it USED to be!
Today I had an appointment in the medical center and decided to swing by because their yellow curry WAS delicious and I had not been here in years.
Oh no! The yellow curry at first sight was a brownish color with a hint of yellow gravyish look to it. It was Like a gravy you put on mashed potatoes or your thanksgiving turkey. The curry even had a bounce to it.
This was NOT the delicious yellow curry they USED to make!
The chicken: it looked like it had sat in the freezer for decades because it had the freezer burn look to it.
The place was nearly empty when all those years ago it used to be packed to the brim !
The waiter asked how lunch was, I was honest, he tried to make things better and asked if I wanted to try another dish. I should have known better and should have left. But I tried the vegetable Pad Thai.
The Pad Thai had al dente noodles with minuscule barely visible pieces of tofu. The Pad Thai was not good at all.
I paid and left very disappointed.
Great place to dine worth every penny!
Decent food, but hard to find.
Delicious food but it was super hot in there like they have the AC temp set too high
Great Thai food and service.
Dumplings are great with the spicy soy sauce.
The curries and Chilli basil are my family's favorite dishes.
Delicious food and great customer service!!!
Thai Cottage has been a staple in our lives for 14 years. Our kids favorite food from kindergarten has always been Thai, because of Thai Cottage.
Perfect place for tasty veg & meat dishes worthy of the price.
Their Greenway location (now closed) was much better.
I had previously really liked my experience at Thai cottage. Both last time and this time I ordered tofu pad Thai. The amount of food for the price is good that was not the issue. The issue was the lack of complexity in favor of the pad Thai itself. The vegetables were still crunchy but the sauce covering the noodles was just blah, which was disappointing.
Coming out for a tip was wild
Got the pad Thai and it was delicious! The staff were very polite and the restaurant was very clean.
Love the food and the staff.
Great place to meet with co-workers for lunch or just have a gathering. Quick and very nice service.
Curry for days. Lol
Charming little restaurant. Not a lot of parking available. Though worth the effort to dine here. The food was fresh and delicious! Friendly service and a quick meal I in a hurry.
Really good and spicy Thai food!
Great Thai food
Had the crab fried rice with shrimp spice level #5, had to add my own spicy oil
I have been to quite a few Thai cottages around Houston area and I it must say that this is the worst I cottage i have been to. The reason being is that one the the interior and the decoration feels not like a Thai restaurant. It feels just like a school cafeteria and then at the same time the quality of the chairs and the quality of the dining equipment is not great. Second, the food quality is reasonable. Parts of it are fresh but overall I thought it they said like pre-made food that was just gently heated up and served. I think that compared to other Thai cottages i have been to, this location has a lot more work to do to bring it up to the same standard as the other locations.
Nothing impressive. I ordered green and red curry also teriyaki chicken. Chicken is too dry and the curry doesn't have many vegetables in it. I have the same dish at another Thai restuatent called ginger Thai who had eggplant, green and red pepper in it but their curry is really spicy. Food is not just taste but also how it looks. The first impression will make people take next step.
Nice staff, great food.
Always a wonderful experience!
A little pricey but what great food. They take great care in making sure you get the best food at the spice level you desire. Careful! It can get spicey.
I hope they put basil beef on their menu one day.
The best mangoes and sweet rice in the city.
Great lunch specials.
Love this place. Their Tasty Healthy veggie dish is my favorite. Fresh and yummy food always.
Still nice. Started going there when it first opened in it's old location! Still good.
Amazing small dishes, each and every one we had.
My "go to" Thai restaurant. Very consistent and the quality is always good. Can't go wrong.
It looks more like a fast food joint didn't feel like i was in a Thai Food restaurant. Employees are very nice and waitress very attentive. Place was neat and clean. The menu didn't have prices only their drink I think that's very important for some people. Tom Kah was very delicious and so was the food but a little to plain and we were served more vegetables than meat. Their Thai iced tea was very refreshing and delicious. We were a family of 6 2 adults and 4 kids paid almost 200. Nice place but does need to adjust a few things.
My Pad Thai was ok but broccoli was over cooked not fresh, tofu was tiny pieces! Not impressed! Friend had fried rice with shrimp. Shrimp was also overcooked, tuff! Not enjoyable!
Good Thai cooking and friendly staff.
Very clean and great CS. Food was good.
Love their food, enough said, just go sooooo good
Excellent food choices. I had chicken teriyaki and it was excellent. Servings are large and prices fair. The waitstaff was on top of each customer.
This is the worst Thai food I have ever had. Not sure if they used leftover tofu that is 3 days old. It was rubbery. We ordered pad Thai noodles with tofu. But there was Lot of rubbery tofu and not much noodles. We also ordered red curry with Tofu. For $15 we got the small container with was only three fourths full.
Quite simply some of the best Thai food in Houston at this, the original, location. The Katy location is really good as well. Our favorite is the Chili Basil, always with a fresh, home made taste and clean finish. Of course everyone's favorite, Pad Thai, is wonderful as well. Every dish we have tried has consistently been a treat. We love this place. Usually go once a week, but usually to the Sugar Land location. You're going to love it. Highly recommended.
Food is always tasty and quality ingredients!
The wings of paradise are the absolute best wings I’ve ever had. This Thai Cottage location is the one to go to.
I had been searching for YEARS to find great Chicken Pad Thai in Houston with a delicious sauce … I FINALLY found it! Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of peanut sauce! Clean, bright restaurant with outstanding service. I recommend parking on the Cedar St. (HEB) side away from Bissonnet.
The curry fried catfish is to die for.
Good food, exceptional attendamt
Feb 21 2022: update
Was super busy during lunch our. We stood there for 20 minutes and no one told us it would just be 10 minutes or 30 minutes wait. They just looked at us and kept moving.
2021:
Lunch special is amazing between 12-1 and very inexpensive. Definitely recommend
Not bad pad thai
Consistently good. We have been going here for over 10 years.
Very good serves large portions
I don't know how many times I've been here but the Hispanic gentleman that serves us and has been our waiter every single time is always amazing and this was the first time I tried something different I think I had the princess of Siam it with beef and it was pretty awesome no complaints
Oh my gosh!
Amazingly fragrant and fresh. Having eaten at every thai place in town, I keep coming back to, and comparing everything else to, Thai Cottage. Best Tiger Cry in town and best Tom Yum I’ve ever had anywhere. Currently on a diet to loose 10 pounds so my daily lunch is a bowl of the Tom yum. I simply can not get enough. I get 4 out of five on the spice scale and it’s more than most can handle. I’d recommend 2/5 if you want spicy but easy to handle.
Trying this location (Bellaire) for the first time this evening. Thoroughly disappointed with their offering of the basics of Thai cuisine. They messed up the Pad Kee Mow to the extent that it didn’t taste like anything I’ve eaten before — and I know my Thai food. Also, I ordered a few dishes off the kids menu - the Thai noodles with Shrimp - they charge $3 extra for shrimp - it had 2 pieces of shrimp in it - and not the large size in case you were wondering! Surprised how this place is in business! I would have given it no stars if I could.
Good menu but their to-go portions could be larger in size for the curries
The pineapple curry is the absolute best anywhere.
great palace
Great food
Always delicious!
Pad Thai was good.
Delicious Authentic Thai Cuisine ... Must try once 👍
The tastiest food and nicest staff! Love that anything can be made vegan, and they have baked and fried tofu options!
Probably the most reliable Thai place left around Houston.
Best Thia Cottage out of all in Houston!! Been coming here for years and they never disappoint! Service is always amazing and the food is always delicious! Recommend chicken/sea food mix or fried catfish with red curry, Tom Kha soup and Thai tea.
Fantastic red chicken curry. Vegetable eggs rolls are to die for goes well with the peanut butter sald dressing and salad.
Delicious. Love the paradise wings and the crispy chicken roll!! Never disappoints.
Fast friendly service, serving great Thai favorites. Portions are pretty generous for the price, and odds are you'll leave feeling satisfied. My favorites are the chicken Pad Thai and chicken curry noodles. They give you big chunks of chicken in these dishes, so they don't skimp out on the proteins! Give this place a try!
Great Thai food and fast service. They offer a wide variety of spice levels. Try the sticky rice with custard. It's delicious!
Excellent
Service was friendly and excellent! The food was fresh and so tasty. You have to try these special wings they have as an appetizer! They are so good. I had the yellow curry with chicken! My friends had the pineapple friend rice with chicken and another dish called Pad See Ew. It was really good with lots of vegetables and a flat noodle. Definitely did not disappoint.
So awesome! The spicy Tom Yum with ginger was so good and had to order me seconds. And the combination fried rice was cooked perfectly. Not too much soy or grease. You have to dine in, it's lovely inside.
Very good Thai food and caring owner and employees. Neighborhood institution.
Great food. Friendly staff.
Authentic Thai food, fresh and delicious.
Ordered the "wings of paradise" was over deep fried into wings of stones!!! Not speaking for all locations but this was pretty bad. The other food was just decent
This place is cheap and charges extra for the condiments such as sweet-sour sauce on the side. What type of cheap restaurant does that? Food was decent at best. Would not recommend to any of my friends.
Great food Great service
The food here is really delicious.
Great food. Flavorful and good portions.
Fast quick bite.
Crab fried rice is the bomb even though it is a bit pricey.
Wasn't super impressed with the food but the service was quick and the staff was friendly, polite, and working hard. They were also being very Covid conscious in all their dealings.
This location is my favorite. Best food, consistently amazing flavors, great service. Katy location doesn't come close to the food quality at Bellaire loc.
Wine wa $9 per glass! We were served on paper plates and told if you want plates you have to ask for them. I ordered beef and broccoli and that's what I got. Thin, flat unseasoned beef with broccoli spears. I detected zero seasoning. Lots of people coming in for takeout orders so it took quite a while to get our food and it was tepid when it arrived. The redeeming factor was the excellent lemon grass soup we ordered. Our server was polite but busy with takeout orders.
The chicken tofu soup was so good I had to tell someone there. Had yellow curry. Veg rolls. I wish I lived nearby. So good.
We'd not been in a long time. D n k why, just haven't. Our recent visit very good. Pad thai our new favorite. I had green curry. Delicious. Highly recommend. We ordered online for pick up. It was ready on time. I was a little early. Then I got email food ready. Customer service excellent. Thank you t c for our Delicious dinner. We'll be back.
Excellent food and wait staff. I especially love the hot pepper oil.
