Zero complaints, great stuff!

Diner Review №2

I got the Spicy noodles with tofu! Absolutely amazing. Fresh, fast and super friendly!

Diner Review №3

Best Thai food in town!! Every time I walk in the door, the employees are always smiling and so kind! Their pineapple curry is divine and I’m obsessed with the tom kha soup! Love that you can order ahead too, food is always ready really quick and is piping hot!!

Diner Review №5

The staff was so nice. The tables look new and everything was so clean. Food was fresh and delicious. Very enjoyable.

Diner Review №6

Paul waited us and helped set up our table and everything, also giving us a free app. We were a family of 5 and ordered a good amount of food. He was simply the nicest guy ever and our first impression of the restaurant was extremely pleasant.

The spicy fried rice is to die for. The chow mein was also super good!

Super warm and welcoming atmosphere. The touchscreen ordering kiosks were also super clear and allowed for pretty detailed customizations that I wouldn’t have known about from just ordering with a waiter.

Diner Review №7

I ordered the fried rice and it was really dry. Not going to order again.

Diner Review №8

Comfortable, delicious, Thai place that's a pillar of work lunches and more. Thai Boat has been open for years now and has remained so great the whole time. Flavorful, rich, adjustable spice level dishes, in a quick casual atmosphere. I've pretty much gotten the same couple things my whole time visiting so I can't speak to the fried rices or every noodle dish, but I go out of my way for the yellow curry. Locally owned it can get busy but there's always been a seat. Probably my favorite Thai option in San Luis Obispo due to it's lower cost and atmosphere without sacrificing flavor.

Photo shows yellow curry with shrimp. That plus a drink will set you back about 22 bucks.

Diner Review №9

The food is really really good. They can have weird hours sometimes. But still very worth it

Diner Review №10

Diner Review №11

The best Thai food in all of San Luis Obispo and the best service

Diner Review №12

Never in my long history of eating Thai food have I received a bowl of canned mushrooms with water and a little vinegar. Disgusting! I'm a chef and this shouldn't be called food. Better off eating literally anything else. What a disgrace.

Diner Review №13

Food was average, veggies overcooked, the veggie rolls were almost all lettuce and not shredded lettuce.

Diner Review №14

Food, it's delicious 😋 I love it

Diner Review №15

Watered down Thai Tea. You can usually tell when it’s authentic and this one wasn’t the best. Ordered Chicken Pad Thai but the gave me chicken yellow curry? The curry was okay. It wasn’t a big deal but when I spoke up and said this isn’t what I ordered, they said “yes it is”. Not sure how they mixed up the two because they don’t sound remotely the same. Didn’t feel like they wanted to accommodate me at all.

Diner Review №16

The food here is so good when I worked in San Luis Obispo I would come here at least once a month. Guaranteed to be the best Thai food here in San Luis Obispo

Diner Review №17

First time here. You have to order off of a huge electronic menu board that's standing in front of you when you walk in.
Give yourself time because it didn't scan or swipe my credit card after many attempts.
I had to get someone to help me.
The lady in front of me was also having problems ordering. She had to ask for assistance.

The food was prepared quickly and was cooked perfectly.

Diner Review №18

Diner Review №19

My absolute favorite Thai food spot in SLO. Delicious food and on top of that the staff have always been super nice.

Diner Review №20

I give only one star to this place because of their poor customer minded service charging extra for all and also a fee if you pay with a credit card at countertop so do they with at the kiosk and the amount depends from your bill so what ever you do you pay extra or and a fee this place is not any cheaper than any thai restaurant in slo maybe even more after all the extra and fees for just been like a fast food were you have no proper service as all is done at counter also be prepared to clear your table fast food way seriously you can find better

Diner Review №21

Probably the worst Thai food I’ve had in Slo. If you like raw green beans in your curry and a very dried chicken in your noodle dish, then go for it.

Diner Review №22

Diner Review №25

Great food. Good service. Highly recommend!

Diner Review №26

Diner Review №27

Absolutely one of my most favorite places to eat. I feel so cozy and at home when dining here! Family cooked meals with love and also the kindest people as well! The Thai Tea is always a delight for a good and refreshing drink! Yum yum yum!

Diner Review №28

No flavor, very sweet, can food , very watery I’ll not try it again

Diner Review №29

Diner Review №30

Delicious! The best in SLO!

Diner Review №31

Diner Review №32

Great Food and service

Diner Review №33

Best Thai food I've had in 20 years of trying various restaurants. Ordering off a kiosk is weird, but they prepped our drinks before we were even done ordering. Service was fast and food was delicious. Chose options on Pad Thai that I hadn't tried anyplace else: mild spice. 10/10. Chicken Satay was crisp outside, tender inside:10/10. Peanut sauce was perfect 10/10. Curry was very good. 9/10.

Diner Review №34

The food is very good and it was quickly prepared. We ate to go, so the service rating is based on the kiosk ordering system. I much prefer human interaction when I order. The atmosphere is a little better than standard "strip mall" style.

Diner Review №35

Diner Review №36

Diner Review №37

Diner Review №38

Really good ordering experience. Like the venue. It has nice seating outside. The food was filling, so if you like Thai food this is a good spot.

Diner Review №39

I got garlic noodles with tofu. It was so delicious 🤤

Diner Review №40

One of the best Thai places I’ve tried. Very good food and nice employees

Diner Review №41

Drove a long way to eat here specifically because they had fish on the menu. Arrived to discover that we had to order on a big touchscreen display, and that they no longer serve any fish. Ordered anyway and the food was meh. Left hungry.

Diner Review №42

OMG ! I so love the food and the general atmosphere. Fast friendly service, a true must if you want to experience better part of the S.L.O area .

Diner Review №43

First off, loved the ordering process with the stand up kiosks. It made it a delight to see all the dishes and choose what we wanted for our meal. We ordered the spicy eggplant and chili shrimp. Delicious. Lots of flavor, tasted super fresh and looked great. Actual service was ok, as we didn’t get much of a greeting or interaction with our server. We’ll be back for a quick, great meal!

Diner Review №44

The goods:
- Wonderful staff that greets you every minute
- Ordering kiosks have pictures for every dish, easy ordering
- Fast

The bads:
- Food is underwhelming.
- Beef salad is super overcooked with hot beef on top of raw veggies, and the veggies end up being half cooked. It's also very salty.
- Pad See Ew is sweet, despite our request for it to have NO sugar.
- Pineapple curry is extremely sweet! It is literally a dish of ingredients soaked in syrup.
Not authentic Thai food, and tastes meh...

Diner Review №45

This place is pretty good. I wish the phone number was listed on google. Also the prices in store are way cheaper than online. Try to phone in on yelp.

Diner Review №46

Their Pumpkin curry is the best I've ever had! Love how I can make my order custom on kiosk

Diner Review №47

Thai Boat has some of the best service I've ever seen, and some of the best Thai food I've had! Paul, the owner, is always so friendly, happy and inviting and is a major part of why we love it here so much. The food is always top notch too, and I've never had a dish I didn't love. Big portions too! I always walk away with leftovers. I can't say enough nice things about it here, we absolutely love it.

Diner Review №48

Love the panang! It’s always a go to at Thai food restaurants and theirs is very flavorful and quality.

Diner Review №49

Diner Review №50

Order at the kiosk and wait for you food kind of place but the food quality is good and ingredients seem freash. We started with the Tom Gai soup and chicken skewers which were both tasty and use nice chicken. The yellow curry was good but a little lighter than other Thai places. The owner is Thai so it may be a regional thing. Still very good. The eggplant with vegetables was nice and light and tasty and soy based with umami of course. We took the food to go but just walked across the street so everything was still warm. The staff was nice and helpful. Food packed well.

Diner Review №51

Good solid Thai food

Diner Review №52

Kiosk ordering mandatory for walk in. A service charge for using it. Food and service were good.

Diner Review №53

After reading reviews I was expecting more...well more. 3 out of 5.

Diner Review №54

Food seemed ok, but both of us got sick later that evening.

Edit, 6 years later... Hahaha! Real timely response from the owner

Diner Review №55

Nice quick spot, I will try spicy next time and maybe change my review to 5.

Diner Review №56

Great place, really good thai curry.

Diner Review №57

I'm not fond of the ordering system as it's like McDonald's, I like a more personal touch. But it's organized well and you can order quickly with the photos.
The food is amazing, the service is quick.

Diner Review №58

food is good just beware of the spice

Diner Review №59

Diner Review №60

Diner Review №61

worst experience ever!

Diner Review №62

Take out—I had the pad won sen with chicken, large portions, lots of chicken but terrible taste. No sauce and all I could taste was celery

Diner Review №63

The best Thai food in SLO.

Diner Review №64

Diner Review №65

It was a regular small place to eat. Not really a restaurant per se. The food was great and I sat and chatted with my bf for a good long while. The servers were awesome and friendly.

Diner Review №66

Diner Review №67

Pineapple fried rice is perfection and the service is excellent. Thai tea is good too.

Diner Review №68

I ordered the spicy noodle with shrimp they're kind of like a drunken noodle usually I get the pad see ew but this was good now just need to try the Thai tea

Diner Review №69

OMG, not only is this the best Thai food I have ever eaten. (I have had Thai in every city I have visited in the US.) As if that was enough you can totally customize every dish as vegan, vegetarian or gluten free to my knowledge. The Pad Thai online ordering it's very clear and obvious that you have those options; however for Panang Curry it did not give vegan as an option. I called they said of course they can make it vegan. I was delighted! Outstanding food! Compliment's to the chef!!

Diner Review №70

Great and friendly service. We were picking up food and they were so accommodating and helpful. The fried rice was to die for, we ordered it two nights in a row!

Diner Review №71

Best Thai food in slo! Owners and staff are as nice as can be. A must try!

Diner Review №72

The super, great, tasty, friendly Thai restaurant in SLO!!! The sadness when they are closed for vacation...

Diner Review №73

All the workers were super helpful and kind; the food came almost immediately and it was awesome. This was one of the best Thai restaurants I've been to!! I would definitely recommend this place

Diner Review №74

The waiters and staff were very kind and accommodating. And the quantity was very good for the price. Great dining experience!

Diner Review №75

You don't expect Thai food here. I ordered Pad prik king wish supposed to have ginger paste and spices. I got no Thai stir fried ginger taste, only sweetness. The chef was too generous on sugar,it seems. I asked for chili and fish sauce for my Togo food, I got only packs of soy sauce, lol

Diner Review №76

Diner Review №77

Diner Review №78

This place is beyond friend, and the food is good to boot. I recommend about anything on the menu, and they will tailor it to your liking. My friend like his spicy and they make him sweat. My favorites are bbq chicken, the pineapple fried rice with pork, and pad garlic. Make sure you call first if you are in a hurry, they can get very busy at lunch time.

Diner Review №79

More off a fast food bar than restaurant

Diner Review №80

Food was quick and delicious 😋 definitely coming back again n again!

Diner Review №81

Best Tai food in SLO town.

Diner Review №82

Super close to where we we’re staying in SLO. Unpretentious location but the food was delicious. It’s almost like a hole in the wall. We had a curry dish, pad see ew, and Tom yum soup. All delicious. A lot of food for two people. If you like spicy, then definitely order at least medium level because mild is not spicy at all. Staff was super friendly. Would definitely recommend!

Diner Review №83

This is our first time dining here today, February 11. We’re from Santa Maria and we’ve been looking for a new Thai food “home” since Sister kitchen closed in Grover Beach a while back.. I am happy to say that we have now found our new Thai food home! The food is fantastic. The service is friendly and quick. I love the atmosphere inside it’s warm and welcoming. You can order at the touch to order system or you can order at the cash register the gentleman who helped us. Not sure if he’s the owner. Just a lovely man made us feel welcome. Happy to be here. for me, the true test of good Thai food starts with the yellow curry, this one is perfection. I like their choice of music very relaxing. This is a great place and it seems to be popular!

Diner Review №84

Food is great! Good portions sizes and well seasoned! Service is amazing everyone working was exceptionally kind!

Diner Review №85

Thai Boat is easily the best Thai food in SLO! They always get my order right and they are so fast! My last visit was on a busy Friday night. I ordered my food in-person because their mobile order system was down that night. I was still in and out with my order in hand in under 10 minutes! The (I think) owner even gave my a Thai iced tea on the house while I waited for my food.
Also, as a vegan, I greatly appreciate the ease of ordering dishes “made vegan” no fish sauces, no egg, etc. The staff is so kind, you can tell they serve the community with love.

Diner Review №86

This family - run restaurant is a special treat. Nothing fancy; just good food.

Diner Review №87

Best Thai food in town. I love Thai Boat, especially the pad see ew. Do yourself a favor and go!

Diner Review №88

Only complaint is that the vegetables in my curry were undercooked
Just a little to crisp for my taste. But otherwise the chicken as well the curry flavor was amazing. Staff very friendly and attentive

Diner Review №89

Diner Review №90

Food is ordered on a screen. Super convenient. Wait time was short. Employees were prompt to bus tables and bring meals to guests. Everything I tried (thai coffee, Thai tea, noodle soup, cashew chicken) was phenomenal. The interior is small with limited seating. They make up for it by making to go order pick up incredibly easy.

Diner Review №91

That Boat never disappoints! Great food and friendly staff.

Diner Review №92

Diner Review №93

Best Thai food on the central coast!! Food was extremely flavorful and service was top notch. I will definitely be coming back here.

Diner Review №94

Best Thai food in SLO. Soup is wonderful. Everyone who works there is so nice. Been a regular since they opened, and will continue. Highly recommend their soup, the broth is *chef's kiss*.

Diner Review №95

Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Diner Review №96

Diner Review №97

Diner Review №98

It's an order at the kiosk/counter kind of place. Food came out super quick. Friendly staff. Generous portions. Good spice levels. Thai iced tea can help balance the fire.

Diner Review №99

There are better Thai restaurants in SLO

Diner Review №100

Diner Review №101

Awesome service, and great people making fantastic food

Diner Review №102

We have been loyal Thai Boat customers since they were originally in Morro Bay. I am sad that they have lost their more interactive family run atmosphere. I can appreciate the kiosk system, moving up in the world but we really liked their staff/family engagement. Sadly has lost it's charm and authenticity for us. I don't know if we will be back. Food quality has lessened as well. 😢

Diner Review №103

Great service and wonderful food

Diner Review №104

Great food. Good spice level!

Diner Review №105

Super good food! It is the 1st time there and would definitely go again!

Diner Review №106

Diner Review №107

Very tasty! Had the pad see ew with some appetizers and loved everything. Service was pretty quick. Highly recommended.

Diner Review №108

Diner Review №109

Best Thai food in San Luis Obispo.

Diner Review №110

Diner Review №111

Totally deserved to win best of SLO Thai food the last two years. We got the pa nang Curry and the garlic noodle beef and it was so delicious. Great portion size.

Diner Review №112

Diner Review №113

This place has down down the drain without a doubt. I was one of their oldest customers and I will never go back. The two kids who run the place are terrible from the way they barely even greet their customers to the way they just sit behind some wall and do nothing. I remember when Chet used to run the business in Morro Bay with Julie and they actually used to have good food.

Diner Review №114

My kids are obsessed with the Pad See Ew and I can’t stop thinking about the noodle soup. The noodle soup was so amazing and I can’t stop thinking about the next time I can go! I can’t wait to try everything else. The workers were all super friendly as well.

Diner Review №115

Diner Review №116

Best Thai in the central coast, bar none. Food is unreal. The staff are the nicest, most amicable, genuine group of people I’ve ever encountered at a restaurant. Thai boat makes the world a better place.

Diner Review №117

Everything was so good! I got the eggplant stir fry with tofu and everything was cooked really well in a flavorful sauce. My friends got garlic noodles and bbq chicken thighs and also really enjoyed those. The staff were very kind and the space is nice and bright.

Diner Review №118

Love love love this place! Friendly staff, good food.

Diner Review №119

ok this little plate cost me 20 $ the quality is overage the price is higher for the amount of food and flavor...
I know this days everything is expensive but a least sale the right amount for what the costumers pay ..they rather sales one time ..that keeps the customers happy and coming back..

Diner Review №120

one of my favorite places for their soups, actually everything is good, but I love their soups.

Diner Review №121

Diner Review №122

Diner Review №123

While this place serves decent Thai Food, some say it's one of the best in SLO, the reason why I am giving it a poor review is their blatant disregard for the environment. All the food, and it does not matter if it is for eat in or dine out, is packaged in plastic containers and all that stuffed in a plastic bag with plastic utensils, which are wrapped in plastic baggies. Wake up people, there are sustainable options to take out food packaging and lots of other restaurants are doing it. The fact that you get a plastic bag even though you are eating in is ridiculous!

Diner Review №124

Best Thai food in town, hands down. Never disappoints and nobody else compares! It's unfortunate they aren't open on the weekends, but it's a great stop on a Friday night. Our favorites include their Param, Tom yum soup and pad garlic.

Diner Review №125

Diner Review №126

It's amazing! Friendly staff and great food.

Diner Review №127

Love the food!

Diner Review №128

Diner Review №129

Been searching for a good Thai place in SLO - not impressed with this one. No meat analogs (mock duck, etc) only tofu, noodles were a pasty mass, no spice and little flavor. No Papaya Salad. No Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango.

Diner Review №151

Diner Review №152

Sorry , but I never visited this place . I have no knowledge of it .

Diner Review №153

I haven't been here over a year since the pandemic started and I'm glad I've returned. Delicious as usual from the last time I was here. I ordered fried rice with chicken, basil, green onions, white onions, bean sprouts, and basil. I was asked in range of heat 1-5 I requested #4 and it was perfectly to my liking and ordered chicken satay, cream cheese wontons and chicken egg rolls. WORTH THE PRICE I PAID!! LOVE YOU THAI BOAT!!!

Diner Review №154

Diner Review №155

Highly recommend this place! We went during the trip, we didn’t know were to have lunch for a short stop and decided here. Dude, even better than expected! They are very nice, specially him that is very detailed, the quality of the food is really good, tasty and fresh and the service is fast an great.
If you have a chance come to try it out, for sure we will come back. Take care!

Diner Review №159

The best Thai food around, with the happiest restaurant owners I've ever seen. The kitchen cranks out tasty Thai food quickly, and at a reasonable price. Pad See Ew and Panang Curry should not be missed.

Diner Review №164

Great food. The curry is awesome. Friendly people.

Diner Review №165

Best Thai food anywhere on the central coast.

Diner Review №166

Curry dish tasted authentic. Small, Is this supposed to be? very small portion (half full container) for a after-tax $15
Tried Thai noodle later also, it’s really so-so taste. The beef is over cooked stiff ... Maybe just a fill of the local void of good Thai food.
Just want to encourage improvement...

Diner Review №167

Amazing Thai Food! Always consistent and delicious!!

Diner Review №169

Diner Review №170

Diner Review №171

The family that runs Thai Boat are such wonderful people. They were literally in my dream last night, and that’s what prompted me to write this review. I’ve gone here easily 100+ times and have always had a good experience. I love their curry, I love their noodles, anything they do is great. They treat their customers with kindness, so it always feels like I’m going in to visit friends. This place is a gem.

Diner Review №172

They have amazing food. You can order and pay online. They the pickup time is always accurate. They have a good setup as far as social distancing is concerned. Everyone there is so friendly and nice.

I am a huge fan of this place. The food is excellent (I always get the pumpkin curry with chicken, veggies instead of rice but have tried many dishes) and the service is top notch. I always recommend Thai Boat when thai food is proposed!

Diner Review №188

The best Thai food ever I came with my best friend when I came to town from Vegas way better than Thai palace

Diner Review №189

Diner Review №190

Extremely busy yet food served very quickly. Everything we had was freshly prepared and delicious. Staff most friendly too. Great experience.

Great food ready quick and reasonably priced. Only draw back is that it can be closed randomly due to it being truly family run.

Diner Review №193

Diner Review №194

Wow, what a great place. Lots of people were picking up orders they called in. We ate in and the service was quick anf the service was spectacular. When you enter they give you a menu to order at the front and they give you a # to place on your table, they have a pick up area to for call ins. They were really good about asking how hot you want your food. I am whimpy when it comes to spicy/hot, but my husband likes it he had Basil seafood asking for 3 out of 5 spicy and was very happy. I absolutely love their cucumber salad too. I will return here whenever I am in SLO. Prices were very reasonable and we left with 1/2 our meals, good portions.

The best. Accommodating as hell and have great vegan options. You won't find better thai food in the area. Make sure you call first because they travel often and will be closed at times--but it's worth the wait.
