We heard a lot about Zato’s and went to with family.
There was a good amount of seating and the restaurant was pretty clean.
Be sure to try their curry fried rice! It’s amazing. Their soups were really good.
The food portions were very good. Everything was very tasty, even their plan fried rice that was give as a side to the curries. Mongolian beef was great!
The staff was really friendly and provided great service.

My first Thai restaurant in Dallas in recent times. All the food we ordered is more towards sweet. Seems like American version of Thai. We had Tom Kha Gai soup and Pad Thai. For appetizers, we had spring rolls. I love spicy and this food not at all satisfied my taste buds. Service is good and atmosphere is kind of OK.
We ordered pad thai, drunken noodles, crab fried rice, one dragon roll and one spider roll. We visited from Nashville and compared to the local Thai restaurant in Nashville it was OK. The drunken noodles had burnt bitter taste to it. I didn’t like it. The pad Thai noodles were actually good. The sushi could not beat our local Thai restaurant. Total bill was $96 for 5 items.
Edit 5/15/2024. We had the beef pad keemao that was really good. Tiger tears was good too.
Nice place for thai food. Good for vegetarians too. They have a section for vegetarian rolls. We had Tom kha soup , pad Thai noodle and all spice veggie stir fry. Everything was awesome. Food was fresh and prepared perfect. Options are good. They have paratha curry too which I would definitely try next time.
Started with the Thai Herbal Chicken and the earthly flavor from the spicy rub was not over indulgent.
The Sushi and Sashimi Combo went well as a prelude to the entrees. The snapper, in particular, was excellent.
The Pad Woon Sen and Thai Spicy Basil were done well and the requested spice level passed the palate test. Would have preferred a slightly different than supermarket grade of mushrooms. No frilly "platemanship" at work but no less appealing.
The Lad Na with Chicken was a new experience with flat rice noodles.
The Pineapple Shrimp Curry was nostalgic on the sense that there are several South Asian varieties with U5 or larger shrimp. Daresay that lobster would be nice too for the pineapple with creamy coconut milk.
The Tom Kha Goong is yet another classic and inimitable Thai soup.
The Crispy Fried Snapper was devoted thoroughly but it's appearance and consistency remained par excellence. Crispy and fried but the immersion in the mint based sauce was nice too.
Topping it all with Fried Banana Ice-Cream was definitely sweet.
The service was courteous and attentive.
Very tasty! Staff was extra nice.
Perfection..Thai AND sushi!
I am from out of town, and the Pad Thai was as good as I have had. I'll be back to try other things.
5/5
Good food but a credit card fee and a service fee to order PICK UP is just crazy
We ordered the Thai tea, an entree and parata curry. The food was wonderful and the server was super kind and helpful. We loved it and will come back!
The food was outstanding!! The service is great and ready for anything you need .The food is delicious and great for everyone.Highly recommend.
Best place to eat with your lovely family and friends

The food was disappointing. It didn't taste very good. I wouldn't order here again.
We ordered the pad kee mao and the Singapore curry noodles. Wow. Food was so so good! Compliments to the chef and staff! Highly recommend this place! Some of the best Thai food I’ve had in Texas so far. Looking forward to trying more Thai food in the area. But definitely coming back to this place, my new go to for Thai food😋
The Pad Thai was flavorful and enjoyable, but the basil fried rice lacked the depth of flavor I was expecting and felt a bit bland.
The food and service here were both excellent! We got a drunken noodles, a sushi bowl, and others and we enjoyed all of it. Great service as well
Great customer service
A friend of mine and I went out to pick up some dinner yesterday evening and our favorite sushi bar is Sakura out in Frisco but unfortunately they were closed on Sunday I discovered this restaurant and ordered the pad thai and the masumam . My intention was to get sushi but after learning that they only make it with rice and make rice rolls not quite the same my absolute favorite is the French kiss which is a combination of crab , tuna, ponzu sauce, and spices but this place doesn't make riceless rolls. Their food is good the atmosphere is clean and beautiful simple the service was great and kind but it just kind of lacked just a little bit in reaching the same level of quality as Sakura. The prices are a little bit high for just a rice roll between 15 and $20 you can go to Tom thumb and get rice rolls for about 5 to 6 bucks.
Love this place. Very professional, fast, tasty, clean. Fair prices.
Amazing food and unbelievable service!

Super yummy. Orange chicken and Mongolian beef really great. Great portions worth the price will come back.
Great thai place. Food is delicious and fresh. I usually rate a thai place by their basic fried rice. This place nailed their fried rice. Great service and quiet ambiance. This is turning out to be our family favorite.
Food was delicious, service was great, and atmosphere was very nice and clean. However, it is more expensive than it should be.

I ordered stir fry but got lumps of dried chicken wi thick brown nasty thing sauce and vegetables underneath no stir fry. Usually the stir fry is absolute wonderful . Then I got cucumber roll with hard unappetizing very sticky rice and cucumbers cut in all different sizes . On the good side my husband had the chicken pad Thai and the Thai salad - delicious . I don’t know what happened to my chef but I want him back z Service is great
The food here is delicious. The servers are great. You’ll enjoy this place. The zato fried rice is so amazing.
I had the red curry here and it was absolutely delicious!! The staff was super nice and the food came out quick. No complaints at all, highly recommend!
This restaurant took over an hour to bring us an appetizer and 2 sushi rolls. The service was not only slow, but seemed unorganized. They brought us the wrong food twice, multiple other tables came, ate, and left before we got our food. The appetizer platter was fine, and one of our sushi rolls was fine, but one of the sushi rolls was flat out gross. No one ever checked on us to see if we enjoyed our food. We waited 10 minutes for them to get our credit card. I wanted to order more food, so after spending $60 on dinner, I left hungry.

Food and service is good only if the manager is at the restaurant. If not she just have employees who comes for a check and not to take care of the place in the best way.
Zato is excellent food! and its exceptional service, family atmosphere, etc., we will surely return, thank you.
This place is excellent. Is you eat Thai often, this place has the perfect combination of authentic flavoring and spice. I loved it and will be back to try their sushi next time!

Great food
We very much enjoyed our time and fabulous Asain at Zato!
Salmon Bowl and Jungle Curry with Chicken are great choices.
Loved the food. The lady was very welcoming.
One of the best halal thai restaurant in Dallas. The waitress lady was super nice. Definitely worth the visit
Food is good, service was good
Food was very good. Service was fine. Atmosphere is okay.
Left out extra ingredients I asked for, fried rice had basically no vegetables other than onions and was very bland.
Great Pad Thai!
Great find and late hour. Coconut soup was delish!
Great food
Food was decent, service was absolutely horrendous. Ladies restroom was disgusting with giant roach on the verge of death. Would not recommend.
Visited two times last week. Tasty food especially Herbal chicken fried rice. Great service. Will visit again.
Delicious pad Thai, tuna tower, monkey brains, orange chicken
Everything was perfection
Only one waitress. Has to wait 20 minutes before anyone even came to our table and even then we had to ask them to come to our table. The sushi was bland. Walmart and Kroger has better sushi.
I don’t know where to start. The theme of the whole experience was “Addictive”.
3 diverse food items, each of them sparked when I took a bite.
That tuna tower looks heavenly, tastes even better. After the first bite we devoured it. The Tom Kha was flavorful. The crispy pad Thai was so unique.
Zato is one of my favorite pan Asian restaurants in DFW. I haven’t gotten a lot of sushi dishes but from my limited experience it has always been good. My overall experience here has been with the Thai food and I have not had a dish I did not love. I’ve gotten the Thai pepper steak, I’ve gotten a few curries pineapple, red, Panang, paratha. All of which have led me to coming back for more. I will frequent zato whenever I spend time in Dallas. Thank you zato and team for your wonderful service and delicious bites.
Excellent taste, great presentation and customer experience, flavorful to the extreme but expensive, meat portions are very small (sorry if I'm paying $15 for a dish I can't be given 4 tiny bites of chicken)
we ordered all this for 8 adults and 3 toddlers and were left with some rice and some noodles and some veggies. lol
We ordered:
Edamame 1
Tom Yum 2
California Roll 1
Crunchy Roll 1
Cream cheese Wonton 1
Thai Lo Mein 1
Pad Kee Mow 1
Crispy Pad Thai 1
Basil Fried Rice 1
Thai Fried Rice 1
Zato Fried Rice 1
Herbal Chicken Fried Rice 1
Orange Beef 1
Thai Garlic Chicken 1
Mongolian Beef 1
Clean, colorful art in a neutral setting w relaxing ballads FABULOUS hot, fresh pad thai & perfect crunch crab Rangoon--all perfectly garnished with newly prepared red chili sweet sauce, lime and peanuts and soothing green tea. Come quickly! This place is going to be busy often and soon!
So good!
I ordered Jungle Curry and it did not have any bamboo shoots, baby corn and mushrooms as mentioned in the menu. Instead, they put zucchini in it. Also failed to bring two other items and later only made an apology.
Service was extremely poor since there was only one server serving everyone there.
I will never go there again.
So good
When I go to a restaurant I notice the little things which tells me how the owners feel about their restaurant.
First up it’s a cute and cozy place. The chopsticks 🥢 were made of great quality and the staff was so nice.
We started with their Tom Kha Soup which was very tasty. It had a very different kick to it and the vegetables and chicken added just the perfect texture to it. The single serving is big enough for 2 people. Tami sized bowl for 5.
The starters also included Herbal chicken, which again had a very unique yet spicy taste. It was one of my favorites too. Good for 2 people.
We also had the Tuna Tower for starters. Good for 3 people. 2 if you love Tuna.
The presentation was excellent; it looked colorful, creative and very beautifully presented. The tuna tower was topped with colorful Ikura, very similar to Caviar and had layers of Avocado, rice, sauce and of course the Tuna!
My favorite of the noodle based dishes were the Drunken Noodles. It was just the perfect texture, not too thick, and well seasoned. It was in a slight spicy side. Good for 2 people. 3, if other items are ordered.
The Thai pepper steak and the red Thai curry were excellent, and cooked to perfection. The taste was very exquisite and on a slightly spicy side, which I love! Good for 2 people. 3, if other items are ordered.
Spring rolls had good filling and good for 2 people, along with other starters.
Thai Tea is a must try. Very unique taste. It has a perfect blended sweet taste with a strong hibt of tea.
Their sweet and spicy dip is excellent. Order the spicy sauce if you want the extra kick!
The presentation for everything was 10/10.
The serving was very satisfying. Their customer service is 10/10 given there were so many people to cater to!
It is not easy for a restaurant to have a great experience with every single dish ordered but Zato Thai made that possible!
Everything was just perfect, very delicious and very great quantity.
Overall, cute ambiance, cozy place and EXCELLENT food!
I definitely will go again!
Normally I come here a lot and have no problems, but for some reason one of the main staff members has been exceptionally rude today. She continued to take other people’s orders (who had arrived way after us) when we had been waiting for 40+ minutes, and she was unapologetic and very unaccommodating towards us. When I tried to say something she just wouldn’t let me finish what I was saying and continued to speak over me.
Food:
I tried the following dishes:
Herbal chicken
Tom kha soup
Red Curry
Fried rice
Orange chicken
Pad thai
Pepper steak
Sushi
Tuna tower
Spring roll
Thai tea.
All of the dishes were extremely tasty 😋 and well above my expectations. I give 10/10 to all the dishes I tried in the tasting event. If you wanna try Thai food, then I would definitely recommend this place as a first choice.
Service:
All the dishes were served hot and fresh.
The person who was managing the table took care of everything perfectly.
The presentation of the food was extremely great.
Environment:
The overall environment was friendly, clean and peaceful. Everything was well organized.
The seating arrangement is perfect for small to large groups of people.
Parking:
There is plenty of parking available on the front and side of the restaurant and I was able to park my car near to the restaurant.
Recommendation:
I really liked all the things I tried at this restaurant. Therefore, its not wasy to recommend a option but I would say Pad thai or pepper steak as an Entrée, Herbal chicken or orange chicken as an appetizer and Tom kha soup would be some nice options to start. For drink, I would recommend thai tea. Also if you prefer raw sea food then you should not miss the tuna tower 🤑.
Tried Zato for the first time tonight and it was good! I was pleasantly surprised by the sushi. The tuna tower was my favorite item out of everything we tried. The only dish I didn’t really like was the orange chicken, it was a little too tart. Service was great. We’ll be back!
Ordered sweet sticky rice with coconut ice cream for pick up. I check it right there and inform then that it was not coconut ice cream. The ice cream had no coconut in it and I am 100% sure of that. Infact the ice cream tasted like garbage. It was a very old vanila ice cream which even lost its creamy texture. The waitress talked to the people inside and they said that it was coconut ice cream and thats it. They did not even ofer a replacement or even check why I was saying that. I had to throw the whole thing way and waste my money for no reason. extremely bad customer service
Gave pickup order for coconut icecream but they gave vanilla icecream. Called them to change it but they denied that they gave vanilla instead of coconut icecream. Really a disgrace as a halal place.
This is one of the best Thai food places I've been to in the DFW area. Their red, green, and Penang curries are fantastic. The Tom Yum soup is definitely with a try. We had some basic sushi rolls and they were good as well.
We went the night after Thanksgiving and the service was slow but there was just one woman working the place.
Thai spicy is very spicy.
Enjoy!
Mindblowing halal food, definitely a must try, tom yum is so yum
We have been to both Zato locations and my wife and I agree, this is the best Thai that we have found consistently in DFW. The portions are large, the price is right, and the food is fresh and authentic! We love the Panang Curry and the fried Rices. We eat in often and also Door Dash. It's good to have a local Thai restaurant you can always rely on. 😋
chicken fried rice It's delicious and tastes good, not very spicy.
People were nice, space was clean, food was delicious.
Quality food, timely service
Pretty average. Not a lot of flavor. Felt like a fast food Thai food restaurant.
My favorite dishes are the red shrimp curry and the Kee Mao Noodles! I love this place!
Convenient and delicious. The noodle dishes are our favorites
Food:5 Service:5 Atmosphere:5. I've been here multiple times now, and they dont miss! For sure, you're right on!
Swung by here for lunch and had their yellowtail tuna roll and yum woon sen salad. The tuna roll was fresh and the salad was very good as well. I would've preferred the noodles and the shrimp to be cooked just a tad longer in the salad but the flavors and portion size were good. Place was clean and the waitress was so sweet. I'll def go back to try their other dishes. The menu had a lot of options. Both dishes with tax came out to be around $23.
As good as it gets Mongolian beef
Really good food, kind folks
This place was honestly so nice it’s pretty rare to find a place nowadays that has such good service.
Gave three stars on food because even with spicy level 4/5 the dishes were still sweet. They should tone down on the sweetness
Excellent food, friendly service, clean restaurant at good prices. Our go-to place for Thai.
Food was okay. Not great. Place was clean and service was good. But do not plan to visit again. I imagine for folks who like their food, it’s worth multiple visits.
Halal
First time here, great little place with great service
Great place with great food and service
The service was great. This is the kind of local presence that EVERYONE should support over the chains. Great people. Great food. Great service. Great smiles.
Absolutely delicious. Have visited twice and will be back. Sushi is amazing, highly recommend the Tuna Tower. The curry was also so good. Service is friendly and fast
Good food and good service. Best part was that it’s halal.
Good sushi and good curry. Always love getting food from here.
This is one of the best Thai restaurants I've been to. The spicy veggie stir fry is excellent and 4/5 spice level brings some heat. Don't sleep on the side salad. Mixed greens with cashews and raisins. So good.
The food is fantastic, prices great, and the service is incredibly friendly. I keep coming back because it is just a great experience all around
Loved the food and customer service!!
This is hands down the cleanest restaurant I've ever been to. The sushi rolls consistently have generous cuts of fish and Sonny (our server) knows the menu well and is very responsive. We've only been here 3 times but intend to be regulars.
The food was delicious and fresh. I did go on a weekday evening so it wasn’t too busy but the service was a little slow.
Zato Thai is one of the best Thai restaurants in the DFW metroplex. It would be in the top 5 for sure.
Every single item is spot on. Taste is delicately brought out to perfection. Very few, if there are any, restaurants will go the extra mile that Zato goes.
We went to the location in Preston Road just south of Plano and PGBT. We ordered multiple soups, fried rice, spring rolls, flat noodles and Frid Banana desert. And every single item was cooked to perfection. The best part as a foodie was actually finding green pepper corn in Thai curry. It's an expensive ingredient and barely any restaurants use it any more. And i found a whole branch of aromatic magic of green pepper corn in the curry. The curry was absolutely amazing! Thai soup noodles was delicately balanced with taste and sour. It made me crave for more. Flat noodles were sublime on the tongue and just enough for feeling content and not over full. The ending touch was Fried Banana with Coconut Ice Cream. Surpassing a meal like this is very difficult at this budget. Also the meat served is halal for who is looking for that option.
Servers were very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Makes the dine in experience complete.
A must visit for foodies in North Texas.
I enjoyed the Pad Thai dish, it was a new experience for me and I really enjoyed it.
Muy buen servicio, la comida esta muy deliciosa y los precios accesibles, el lugar elegante y muy limpio, puedes disfrutar con toda tu familia los recomiendo cien por ciento…
Great food, excellent service! The crispy red snapper was DELISH and a huge portion. Spice level was perfect.
I have been eating at Thai restaurants for over 30 years in the United States. This place is truly amazing! We ordered three different dishes and they were all fantastic! The service was great. The restaurant is clean. We are definitely coming back.
Great food & excellent service,
Food was really good, but no alcohol on the menu which was surprising. Sushi is very tasty.
Great halal Thai option and sushi. Fresh and fast.
So far so good. Tom Yung Gai soup is good. Level 3 on the spice hits the spot. Some rolls are a little overpriced but overall a great spot for lunch.
Awesome service and great food.
Great food and great service. The place was super clean and the waiters were very polite. Five stars.
Had the pleasure of dining in at Zato (Preston location) and what a wonderful experience it was! Everything was fresh and the taste was on point. Their Zato fried rice, orange chicken and Skillman sushi is a must have!
20/10 for our server of the night , Sunny, who was single handedly taking care of all the tables on a busy night!
Another great halal Thai cuisine addition to dfw area .
Really good & consistent. Ive ordered over 6 times and their takeout is always great. Tried Pad woon sen for the first time and its one of my favorites now. Sushi is decent too!
Good food, lots of variety, crispy red snapper was on ping and Upstream!! Friendly and courteous staff and timely service!!
Amazing food! Really tasty, excellent Thai food with a good sized menu.
Long time fan! So glad they have a North Dallas location again (use to have one at Park @ Coit years ago).
Great selection of rolls and sashimi and terrific Thai dishes, favorites: Pad Kee Mow, Thai Herbal Chicken, Tom Yum soup, Yum Neau Spicy Beef Salad.
Really good Thai! Super clean warm atmosphere. Well done Zato!
Delicious, flavorful, and quick service!
Enjoying the Zato Halal Thai place. This was our first time trying here after reading reviews. We had cashew chicken and Mongolian beef, orange chicken and basil chicken. They let us substitute fried rice and noodles for the steamed rice. I would recommend them. Everything was tasty and fresh. Clean and nice atmosphere and staff was really nice too. Prices were also reasonable. You can choose your spice level. We will be back.
I love siracha sauce, so when I saw they had sriracha noodles on the menu I had to try them, and they were everything I could have hoped for. Excellent service as well.
Great food! Loved the ambience and easy location to find and park at. Would definitely be coming back!
We ordered bunch of stuff. Basil fried was really good, other stuff was too sweet. If you like really sweet food, this place is for you. I don’t recommend the Tom yum soup and jungle curry
Poor service.
Great spot. Tom kha soup is fire
If you like Thai food this place is a must try. The Thai food and sushi was awesome. You will not be disappointed.
Delicious and excellent service. Food was so good and fresh and the Thai tea ice cream was delicious. The dumplings are absolutely amazing
Food was great! We ordered the Tuna Tower (5 stars), Sashimi and Sushi Combo (5 stars), Salmon Ginger was just a tad bit salty for our taste (4 stars).
Service was friendly and easy going (5 stars)
Environment was clean. There is a sushi bar and TVs for sports or news. The place is small-medium and seemed more so for a pickup spot than for dining. However, our experience was great! We will come back for sure!
Update: 10/8/22
Everything was great! Tuna Tower, Sushi and Sashimi (salmon) Combo, Salmon Red Curry, Crunchy Rainbow Roll.
A great place! Both branches in the Dallas area. Great service and delicious food. Near the house and so convenient to me. So happy they open it there
They took care of our party of 10 very well and the food was delicious! The waiter was awesome!
Food portions are lot bigger than Noodle wave and great service.
