Tasty Thai just opened and they are already extremely popular and busy. On a Thursday evening, the restaurant was busy by 5pm, all tables were filled and with many take orders coming through.
It's a small family owned restaurant and they do the best they can to be attentive with the crowd which is amazing.
We had a group of 8 and all of us ordered a bit of everything to try and i will say, Tasty Thai is by far the best Asian restaurant in town since moving here. Their seasoning is perfectly on point! The start dishes of the night was the Lao Papaya & Samosas. Highly recommend during your visit. Otherwise all the noodle dishes are amazing!
Service may be slow but that's only because they are extremely busy so I'd say be patient because you are definitely forgotten. All dishes are cooked by order so it is fresh and hot.
Warning: If you like spicy food, I'd recommend 1 pepper only as their pepper is very spicy. I have high tolerance for spice and 1 pepper was equivalent to 5.
Check them out! They are great and we will definitely be returning.
The scent of lemongrass and chilies wafts through the air, hinting at the culinary adventure that awaits within the warm embrace of Tasty Thai, a quaint restaurant tucked away in the heart of the city. Upon crossing the threshold, one is immediately struck by the vibrant tapestry of colors that adorn the walls, each thread telling a story of the rich cultural heritage that has been meticulously woven into the very fabric of the place. The gentle glow of paper lanterns casts a soft light over wooden furniture, carved with intricate patterns that whisper tales of distant lands. The ambiance is at once serene and vibrant, a delicate balance that mirrors the harmonious blend of flavors that dance upon the palate of each dish served here.
Im rating this restaurant based on my own experience. I ordered Nab Vam, an eggroll and the pad thai dish. Everything I ordered taste good. I liked how full the eggroll was with noodles and pork pieces. I personally liked the Nab Vam with the taro added in. The pad thai had good sauce flavor. The service went well.
Went at 5pm on a Friday, just as it was getting quite busy. Servers were hustling, so we were ok with the long wait for food. Egg rolls were good, but we loved our entrees. Green curry was sweet and herbaceous (and possibly even better the next day as leftovers), the pad Thai had good flavor and spice, and the pork belly was perfectly crispy. We will probably order takeout next time, but it’s a welcome addition to Onalaska!
Staff is so friendly and service is fast. I go for the Green Chicken Curry and Hmong sausage and rice. The portions are large and food is very tasty!
Went here for dinner for the first time. We’ve been to a lot of thai restaurants all over the country and thailand, so we are cery much familiar eith whag authentic thai flavor is. This place won’t give you that exact same authenticity but close. With limited options in La Crosse/Onalaska, tasty thai is good enough to satisfy your thai food cravings.
Food is outstanding!! I had the opportunity to talk to one of the servers/cooks and suggested that they trial Tom Gai Kai (Chicken coconut soup). She was 100% receptive to the idea and voices they will try to make it and are open to customers making food requests. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you eat here. It is consistently good!❤️❤️❤️ AND, Thai music to boot☺️☺️☺️
Lovely people, exquisite food, and relaxing atmosphere. Phenomenal place to go and support a local eatery!

Best fried rice in La Crosse area
The food was amazingly good and delicious people that haven't try Thai food this is the place to eat Delicious Thai food
We ate at Tasty Thai for the first time last night and were so impressed! We’re very excited to have Tasty Thai in Onalaska and will go back often, I’m sure!
Got here kind of late. Did not feel rushed, the waiter was amazing, personable, friendly, and attentive. Food was good and the wait was not long at all.
We got the crab ragoon, ramen, lomein, red curry, Hmong sausage, and white rice/chicken/soup for the kids. There was no complaints by anyone and the kids devoured the chicken
Sorry we took so long! Didn't realize until we got on the car, my kid was too busy trying to flirt!
Good sausage and sticky rice
The pho was great tha pad Thai was not it tasted like it had catsup in it.
It took 52 minutes to get our food less than half of the tables were full
The food is the best Thai food I’ve had outside of Thailand. Authentic and spicy the papaya salad was amazing.
Love it here they own a few of our favorite places in town
Food takes awhile which we knew. Appetizer came out with the meal instead of before. Food is great!
Traveling from out of town, thought I’d eat some Thai food, ordered the Cajun seafood, although the flavor was good, I got a plate filled with corn and potato. At first glance it looks like you’re in for a real treat. Then when you start peeling back the layers it quickly became a disappointment. All the corn and potatoes were in the center, the 1 cluster was on top , the shrimp, mussels and crawfish was on the perimeter of the plate.
It was not made per the menu description, crawfish was not an option and the smokes sausage was absent.
When I asked why the sausage was missing she apologized and brought the sausage out naked.
I wish I could get a do over, because I waited 1 hr to be disappointed

The best food I had in a long time
Amazing amazing amazing food!!!!
service was terrible but I still tiped😊
The food here was amazing 👏 the flavors for ever single dish we ordered were on point! We had the Tom Yum soup, combo pho, red curry with noodles, chicken wings, spring rolls, and beef meatballs. Highly recommend it all. I really appreciate that they kept their dishes authentic and didn't dial down the flavor or spices to cater to a midwest palate. This is by far the best thai restaurant in the area!
The wait did take a little while, because they are short staffed, but it was well worth it and I would have waited longer 😉
The restaurant has a nice decor and plenty if indoor seating!
We will be back!
Ordered through Eat Street. Food was not ready even though it was marked ready for pickup. Staff did not care. Won’t be eating here again.
Great food & service! The drunken noodles were incredible.
The food is delicious, and the staff is amazing! Service is incredible! The food is well priced, too!

Besides being under staff and you need to wait a bit for your food...I'd say it's all worth the while! Delicious 💯 😋
Be ready to wait an hour and a half just to get food that's cold.
Food was good I mean what we got. Waited almost hour and half for just 2 of our 3 appetizers. Other tables got there apps and entrees before us. Watched 2 tables walk out for not even getting there food ordered after 45 minutes were sat but never order taken. A older couple came in with what we assume grandson and made reservations waited till 8 without any food grandson left and than they rushed to bring there food out after saying our other meal eater left. They even got there after us. When approached said would you like the bill even tho we only got 2 of our 3 apps after 2 hours and non of our entres.
Came in on a busy Friday night to order takeout for a group. We were told they were super backed up and it might be 45 min to an hour, but we live close so said sure. The man who took our order was super polite and answered our questions despite being absolutely slammed. Food was ready just under an hour and everything was delicious. Pad see ew, drunken noodles, spring rolls, egg rolls, red curry noodles and chicken fried rice. Drunken noodles were quite spicy and yummy. The pad see ew was delicious. The spring rolls are giant and so good. 12/10. Worth the wait.
Went with a group of five people on a Friday night. The hostess said right away up front "We can seat you at any table you'd like, but please know that there will be roughly an hour wait on the food". Our group really appreciated the transparency of the wait time. We weren't starving when we came in so we didn't mind the wait at all. We ordered everything we wanted and just hung out. The owner came by numerous times to talk with us and seeing if we needed anything or wanted refills on drinks. The staff were very polite, and the owner wants to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves even if the wait on food is a little long.
Once the food came, we had red curry with chicken and rice, two orders of Pho, pineapple curry chicken fried rice, chicken ramen, an order of crab Rangoon's, and an order of samosas. All of the food was phenomenal! The spices and fresh herbs in every dish were perfect! There are so many menu items to choose from too, a great variety! We will most certainly be back! If you're in the mood for legit Asian food, or just a change up in flavors, you've gotta give this place a try!
Great food. Spring rolls are some of the best I’ve had. They are super busy on the weekends so be sure to give yourself enough time.
The food was Fantastic. But the music is too loud. When I go and eat out I like it to be quiet so I could socialize with whoever was there with me. I really don't care much about the music. So, do to respect keep the music very low so customer could enjoy their food.
Nice place with lots of delicious food!
Food was really good. Sea food Cajun was on point.
The best Thai restaurant in the area. If you haven't gone yet, then you need to stop everything you're doing and go right now.
Note: some of the food is spicy. Don't be a baby about it and you'll be fine.
Excellent food and selections. Everyone that we interacted with was friendly and helpful! Will be be back. Only suggestion...a little better adult beverage menu.
We tried 4 items and everything was delicious. Good price for portion sizes too.

Amazing food can't wait to try more of the menu. Great service. Will add more later.
Food was made quick and was very good, definitely stopping in again soon!
