I’m grateful there are multiple good local places to choose from. I’ve visited Saigon Cafe twice now and will definitely be back. So far I have only tried the Tom Yum soup, the Tom Yum Noodle Soup, and the Summer rolls. They’re all excellent and it’ll be hard to choose something different but I look forward to trying more of the menu.

New favorite: Num Tok 💚

All of the Pho is absolutely amazing, and you can get a big bowl of it for $14 or $15! Although I’m just a student that can’t always afford to eat out, I never hesitate or question spending money at this place. Infinity/10, and I will continue to keep coming back year after year.

I recently moved to Hudson Bend and was hopeful this would be a great option for take out. What a disappointment! I ordered the Combination Fried Rice and Crab Rangoons for a total price of $26.76. The fried rice was bland and flavorless. There were only three shrimp, which still had their tails on, only a few pieces of chicken and I couldn’t find any other meat. That was bad enough, but the container only had a small portion in it. Take a look at the photo. That’s the way I received my meal. It barely filled half the container. The crab Rangoons weren’t anything special either. I ended up tossing the fried rice in my frying pan and adding butter and soy sauce to give it some flavor. Needless to say, I won’t be going back.

My boyfriend and I went to Vietnam a few months ago so we were eager to eat some Vietnamese food again. The food was very authentic and absolutely delicious! Wonderful service as well! Will be making this a regular spot. Highly recommend the banh hoi and crab rangoons!

Our family has been eating here for many years. It’s a very good restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious, always steaming hot. They were just closed for a couple months to make some updates and we were so happy when they reopened. This place is worth seeking out and eating at. I highly recommended. One of the best in Lakeway!

I love the flavor of their Saigon Curry. I recommend it with soft steamed tofu

Best pho. Not exaggerating! It’s never too packed, food comes quickly, great price, tastes amazing, not too salty, not too watered down. Also the Vietnamese coffee is fantastic - gets me buzzing lol!

We ate lunch here today and it was so very delicious. The spring rolls were beautifully made, fresh and piping hot. The best ones I have had in a long time. We, in fact, got a second order of them. The pad kee mao was made with handmade noodles and tender chicken with carrots and broccoli. The bowl of beef pho was presented with basil, bean sprouts and other greens on the side. The food here is great. We will be back.

Pho is decent. We also tried banh xeo, it's good. Staff is friendly. Definitely check it out if you like Vietnamese food.

I love this place. I used to go here all the time with my friends back in high school and I miss it so much since I’ve moved out of state. Their pho is probably the best in the area and all their other menu items are amazing as well. The owners put so much care into this place and I’m so happy they’re still up and running.

The restaurant itself reminds me of when my parents used to take me out to their favorite vietnamese restaurants when I was a kid and it’s a great vibe.

Don't listen to Gus, they must have this place confused with somewhere else or something. Also, if you look at Gus' profile, it's virtually all 1 and 2 star reviews....I think it's easy to see what the common denominator is here.

Saigon Cafe has been in business for less than 10 years, so it's nonsensical claiming it "hasn't changed in decades". It's also the opposite of dark and dirty inside -- this is why I think they're confusing it with some other place. I admit, the decor & furniture is dated, but it's functional and clean.

Their menu is a mix of Thai and Vietnamese, and if you can't figure out how both of those ended up on the same menu, then I implore you to look at a map.

And the price, Gus claims is $30-50 per person -- I can feed 2 people easily for that much. The most expensive menu items are only $17! Even with an app and a drink it will be less than $30 pre-tax. Why you have to lie?

The pho stock is definitely not heavy, once again, did you review the correct restaurant? It also comes with all the garnishments PLUS fresh jalapeno.

Anyways, ignore the haters, and enjoy some of the best Tom Kha you've ever had!

First impression this place hasn’t changed in decades the inside is dark, dirty, run down. The tables and chairs are sticky and this place is depressing!

The food at Saigon Café is average to below average. Look at the menu, items listed, there from different parts of Asia, this will tell you a lot.

Pho is OK if you like a heavily flavored stock, not in a good way, beef is low quality, Chewy and flavorful & it’s not even served with all traditional garnishes green onion, cilantro, basil, etc.

All in all the atmosphere, food quality and service is lacking for the price point.

The tofu was really bad quality. I had one of the noodle soups - other than the veggies everything else tested mediocre.

I’ve lived in Hudson Bend for a long time and have been coming to Saigon Cafe for years now! The owners are lovely and their space makes me feel cozy. I’m a vegetarian and they always accommodate my needs. I used to be vegan and they can make curry without fish sauce. The green curry with tofu is my go to. The food is delicious and never disappoints. One of my favorites :)

We drive from Volente to this hidden gem in Hudson Bend! Family owned with great service. We have tried a few things on the large menu and everything has been excellent! Pho is phenomenal!

I love soups and this place is one of my favorites their Ló Mein is amazing

Owners are very personable and will remember you if you frequent the location. And the food is fantastic!!!! My favorites are chicken pad Thai, Vermicelli noodle bowl with charcoal pork and egg rolls. I’ve actually Tried 80% of the menu and have not in the least bit been dissatisfied. The meal you order will definitely leave a lasting mark on your taste buds that can only be satisfied by the great SAIGON CAFE!!!

This unique find most definitely needs a 5.6 review rating !!!! Talk about attention to flavor detail. Dish Presentation was on point and atmosphere was very comfortable yet relaxing. We are visiting the area from San Antonio and truly wish we lived closer !!! This could and should be a routine Friday night dinner date spot. Bravo kitchen on a well executed meal.

Moderate flavor of vietnam. Not that exotic but rather good for Americans who are not used to have Asian flavored food. The place is a little bit old but OK.

The best pho in town! They don't stop there though because the Pad Thai is phenomenal and my son adores the teriyaki chicken. The owner is always there greeting customers and the service is fantastic. If you're in Hudson Bend you have to try it. You'll thank me later. 👍

Good, basic family-owned Vietnamese restaurant with all the Vietnamese essentials Texas has come to love, like phở soups & bún bowls. Meats in the dishes are very well seasoned & tasty, & the broths in the phở soups & fish sauce used in bún bowls are delicious. My only complaint is the seafood phở is listed on the menu as having squid in it when it does not. It has shrimp, fish balls, & imitation crab meat (the stuff generally made out of whiting fish) - which was disappointing for me because I love squid in a good seafood phở. If they can't get squid or just no longer chose to use it, then they need to update the menu or @ least tell patrons when they order it. I must say their fish balls in the soup are fabulous, though. Anyway, I'm so glad to see that you can start to travel away from the more coastal areas of Texas and find these small family owned Vietnamese restaurants with all of the unique Vietnamese dishes. I certainly hate when we travel outside of Texas and can't find Vietnamese food. It's my go-to travel food!

i read the reviews before and always wanted to try. it was very nice and friendly. took our order fast and food came out fast.

the pho itself was just so-so. the flavor was good and so was portion. however, the quality of the beef was not the greatest. HOWEVER, I have to say, since I've been here in Austin. I have yet to find good beef. Comparing to Bay Area, California (top), Portland, Oregon (second), where I actually lived long enough to confirm. With that said, I am not sure if it's their problem or just simply don't have a good source or a post COVID recovery issue here...

Great vietnamese food everytime. Dishes I recommend, pho rai, vermicelli bowl pork&shrimp, special egg rolls and canary nest. These are fantastic. Try and you will be back for more.

Some of the best Pho I have had since coming to Austin 3yrs. ago. I have been wanting some pho forever and found this place on Yelp. It's a no fills and thrills kind of place but the lady (may be the owner) was really nice and friendly. I went last night about an hour before closing. There were three groups of people eating and every other table in the house was dirty. Again they were about to close soon. But you can tell they had really good business. People really liked them. As I waited for my to go order there people constantly coming in and out picking up orders. I ordered beef pho and spring roll. Large pho was about $18 but so worth it. Broth was so flavorful. If you are in the area and really want some pho try this place.

It's a small restaurant but the food is mighty good

We got the Tom yum pho and it is out of this world. We also tried cashew chicken, pad Kee mow amd spring rolls and every thing was flavorful.

One note: The Thai sautes and noodles are little on the sweet side but nothing that can't be fixed by adding some hot sauce

Very homely and friendly atmosphere. When we were around there, most of the customers were families who knew the owner and praised the food which proves the point. Limited variety of vegan and vegetarian options but pretty decent list.

Tucked into a little strip mall off Hudson bend this unassuming little family run operation makes some of the best you will find in the greater Austin area.

Prices online and in physical menu are totally different. Food was very average. Quantity varies big time when you order dine in vs carry out. Don’t fall for vegan option they might have fish sauce. Check with server before ordering

Ok… totally unexpected. Friend of mine turned me onto this joint. Had dinner the other nice and ordered a variety of dishes, sides, etc and it was all amazing. Ok, if you are very hungry and don't want to look around.

1st, we are lucky to have some variety. Like most asian places in small markets the owners have decided to cover all bases so VietNamese is served in addition to Thai and Chinese dishes. The Thai, Tom kha Kai was beautiful but flavorless. The Phò is pretty basic but good. The broth lacks a bit of richness and spice. The bún is woefully slender on ingredients but saved by tasty charcoal pork! I had to ask for those jalapenõs.

Sean Li has a wonderful little restaurant there in Hudson Bend. If Asian fusion or traditional Vietnamese is your thing I highly recommend this establishment. Nice menu and not priced out of sight.

I live in Spicewood, WCH, so its not right around the corner for me... well maybe by Tejas standards but anyways I wanted noodles. I came here on a late Tuesday afternoon. I was the only guest. I sat down and was greeted by a very nice woman, late middle aged. I ordered icedntea and was immediately served.
Myntea was cold and heavilynlacednwithnjasmine, but pleasantly, andnamboentnmusic played while an elderly woman sat in the corner slurping noodles and smiling as her two grandsons attended remote class via tablet in these unexplainable absurd times we live in, but the kids, all smiles.
The menu selection was very good and there were many Thai dishes though this restaurant seems decidedly Vietnamese from what I could tell.
The broth in this soup is great. Though it has less bold intensity if starnanisenthan Simply Pho House (which is what I like about SimplybPho house) this broth had something subtle, like I could taste the care that the elder woman had put into boiling those beef bones.

In any case, it is a little lake village with lake people which makes it intriguing. The pho is delicious, the family that operates the establishment and cook there are fun. Im definitely going back to sample the rest of the menu.

We order from this place atleast once a week. They are quick, cheap and give you huge and yummy portions. Very authentic and tasty! Makes me drool just thinking about it.

This place was near our cabin we rented for the spring break weekend. We came out for some home cooked food, and I must say we found a gold mine. Owners are most polite people I have seen. Restaurant is clean and every dish we ordered were super delicious. I recommend and we will definitely go back again.

This place will always be one of my favorite restaurants of all time. Their pad thai has been a comfort food of mine for years and it never disappoints. The owners are angels and make every customer feel at home. If you ever find yourself in the area this place is a must.

Amazing pho and special egg rolls. Try to catch them at off hours, they can get slammed around 5-7pm and get really behind on orders, but quality is still great no matter the time.

I go with my 2 best friends once a month during the college school year because we love this restaurant so much; it has become sort of our friend tradition to eat there! The service is great, the portions are great, and the food is DELICIOUS!

This is one of those situations where you should not judge a book by it’s cover. Saigon Cafe in a tiny little strip mall on Hudson Bend Rd. is amazing. We get the spicy lemongrass noodles with tofu and vegetables. Perfect level of spice and sooo flavorful. We love how they prepare their tofu too. It has a great texture and is nicely browned. Great for vegans! I mean just look at it! It’s a thing of beauty! My husband and I could literally eat this every day.

Great authentic food and wonderful customer service. They forgot to include a dish in our take out order and delivered it to us immediately and threw in a free order of egg rolls. Couldn’t be happier.

Saigon Cafe has some of the best pho broth I have ever had!
It is so flavorful and taste authentically made with lots of love.
They give a nice portion of both noodles and vegetables (I haven't tried the beef or chicken pho, but I'm sure it's well portioned also!).
The best part of this place is the pho, but coming in second is the customer service, these people are so nice and accommodating.

Delicious pho, broth was flavorful and meat tender. Also the Pad Thai was really good. Ordered special Vietnamese rolls, they were not great, hard and not flavorful. The Thai cuisine is not your authentic Thai. Ordered Tom Kha and pineapple fried rice. Neither were according to traditional Thai recipes. Overall I had good service and will be back for the Pho only. Small family run business in a secluded area of Hudson Bend.
