Small, family-owned business offering gluten free, dairy free, vegan, vegetarian, savory, spicy Thai food.
I visit this Thai restaurant almost every day, and their Khao Soi is, without a doubt, one of my favorite dishes. This rich, coconut milk-based soup is the epitome of comfort, with its creamy, aromatic broth packed with flavor. The egg noodles are perfectly cooked, offering a satisfying texture that complements the smoothness of the soup. The chicken is always tender and juicy, making each bite a delight.
What sets this Khao Soi apart is the balance of spices. The soup is subtly sweet yet has just enough heat to keep things exciting without overwhelming the palate. The fresh toppings—crispy fried noodles, cilantro, and lime—add a wonderful crunch and brightness, providing a contrast to the velvety richness of the broth. It’s clear that the ingredients are always fresh, and the dish is consistently flavorful.
Aside from the food, the service here is excellent. The staff is always friendly, and the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere that feels like a second home. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, the Khao Soi will leave you craving more. I can honestly say this place has become my go-to spot for Thai food, and it never disappoints. Highly recommended!
I absolutely love the food here but the service is terrible. Dining in has been a great experience but ordering ahead is awful. Tonight I ordered 1 dish and was told it takes a "really long time" to make. I had placed my order an hour before. Previously, my orders are always missing something. I know now to check before I leave.
Food:4.5/5

Golden balls
Veg basil fried rice 🍚
Pannag curry with rice
We reached restaurant at 8:30PM. 30 minutes before the closing time. Last call for food n order is 8:35pm so we had to be quick to order.
All the things that we ordered exceeded our expectations. Golden balls are oily and hence 4.5 and not 5 out of 5.
Basil friend rice has that smoky taste and perfect texture. You can ask for spice tray like we did and it goes well with friend rice.
Curry I ordered at medium spice was so good. It is one of the recommended dishes from my side. Perfect balance of sweet, sour and spice.
The food was fantastic, but order takeout from this place! The service was absolutely horrible. It took 30 minutes after we ordered to get our entrees and our appetizer arrived 15 minutes after that. The server didn’t refill water, didn’t check in, and every time he dropped off a plate or stopped by, he ran away as quick as he could. When I finally called him over, he poured half of the water in my cup and half all over the table! No music playing indoors either, it felt awkward and very unwelcoming.
Twice now the entrees I’ve ordered here were mediocre. The level two spicy meals we ordered tonight were totally different in spicy was level, so I suggest adding your own spices to less spicy meals. Super understaffed, so much so that the one waiter working tonight would speed around with his head down so he wouldn’t have to fill up our waters or have to stop to do something else. My Tom Kha soup is the best I’ve had in Austin though.
Really really slow service and food was too sweet to be categorized as Thai. I def wouldn’t recommend this place if you are looking for an authentic Thai experience.
I stopped by Chada Thai for lunch. I was in a hurry, so I asked the staff to bring my to go container when he brought my food. He was very attentive and he accommodated my request. He also asked if I needed to go cup for my drink as well, which I didn’t even think to ask.
The food was served quickly and was delicious. I had the Pad See Ew. The noodles were perfectly cooked, firm and slightly chewy with the flavorful dark soy sauce.
Pro tip- you pay at the cash register.
If I am up in that area again, I will definitely be back.
Rice is amazing, but it's too addictive wich makes you eat more and spend more money.

Tom ka Coconut milk soup is the best of the best I have ever tasted. I would gladly pay double price if needed . 👌🏻
Solid, reasonably priced Thai food.
Very yummy! I love their fried rice.
Ordered takeout we got yellow curry, veggie bags, G1 (marinated steak), and pad thai.
Really loved the veggie bags and the steak was pretty good, the curry was delicious but a tad watery (wish it was a bit thicker), the pad thai was also pretty good
It's a good done in loved the food, must try golden bag in appetizer
This was my first and last time coming here. I ordered the Fried tofu (appetizer) and the Rice
R1 House Fried Rice withTofu dish. It was tasteless and bland. I added a lot of soy sauce to give it some flavor. Very dissatisfied.
The food was terrible and service and atmosphere matched. Don't bother even trying
Have ordered from here a few times and the food was always well prepared and delicious. Tom Kha had some good spice to it and the pad see ew was a hit.
This place was so so good. I will definitely be back. The service was also tremendous and the packing for to-go food was top notch.
Always good food. Prompt and attentive staff. Love the golden bags.
I've been working my way through their menu, and have fallen in love with their Basil Fried Rice with beef. Staff is always friendly, and the food always comes out quickly.

Service and food was AMAZING. 10/10 in my books!

Everything is excellent and the staff is very friendly. Basil fried rice is my family's favorite 😋
Huge let down. Pineapple fried rice was very dry and lacked a lot of meat. Pad see ew had a weird taste to it. The only thing that was tasty was the Tom Kha.
Wouldn’t recommend this place. Plenty of better Thai options.
I ordered take out and the young guy just turned the iPad screen on tip input and just walked off, I even had to go back to ask for some to go utensils. The papaya salad was ok but the basil fired rice was soggy and bland all slice no flavor. If you know Thai food you know this is not it. Sorry but don’t water your flavor down please. Give us real Thai food. Some of us in cedar park actually have pallets.
We loved the food but more importantly our server was so sweet and helpful and had amazing customer service. I wish I remembered her name!
Food was lacking flavor and depth. I got the pad Kee Mao and it was bland noodles, bland chicken, with a ton of undercooked veggies.
Parking lot was full but this place was dead...didn't have anyone enter the entire time I was there.
Server was chill, but I wish I would've eaten somewhere else.
Everything was super good not bad but the noodle soup is so good
Mango sticky rice was absolutely amazing. Will swing by again just for that. Jasmine tea was lovely. Entrees were good. Warning: Place is nothing to look at and we almost left before sitting down due to most tables being visibly broken.
The food is good! But this review is to rave about the hostess Kate. She was very personable and gave thorough recommendations on dishes!
A lot of tasty vegetarian options.
I highly recommend the house fried house. It was so good! The seasoning was on point and I could taste the “wok hei” (a smoky flavor that can only be possible when using a wok). We also ordered curry and pad Thai and both tasted great. The lunch special price is very reasonable. Unfortunately there was only one waitress to serve the entire restaurant and the wait time was long. I feel really bad for her.
We've visited this place multiple times with our family and have always been impressed with their vegetarian options. My personal favorites are the Veggie bags, crispy fried tofu, and cheese rolls. Their fried rice dishes consistently meet high standards, and the prices are reasonable.
Food came out fast! Veg golden app, salad, pad thai, tom kha, salmon penang curry, and house fried rice were delicious!
Golden bags are interesting and excellent! My duck dish was good. Tom Yum fantastic....just the right amount of heat!
No consistency.
Lunch one day, wonderful, next day same order completely different.
DO NOT order to go. Order size to go is like half the same as in order.
I've loved the food but felt cheated as well.
One of the best Thai places around. They were also super friendly when I asked them to accommodate an order for my son's severe egg, dairy, and peanut allergies.
This is our all time favorite Thai restaurant. Food is a bit extra spicy so I would recommend to choose Mild instead of Medium spice.
Their Thai Basil Fried rice and Pad kee mao are our family favorite dishes!
Thai food is literally my favorite. I've ordered twice here and gotten the same dish, papaya salad. The first time it was amazing, one of the best I've had in the north austin area. Second time it was not nearly as tasty and they forgot the chopped peanuts on top. Giving them 3 stars for inconsistency, employees are nice and the restaurant is cozy inside.
Really great pad Thai and pad see ew.
Everything we got tasted great and had huge portions (pad thai, pad kee mao, tom yum, fried wonton). Definitely will be back again. Thanks!
Hot food but great taste!
It was a first time to visit here.
Food is so-so. To be honest, all dishes, we ordered fried rice, stir fried noodle, tom yam soup, and 2 more, tasted like something's missing. I have visited Thailand several times, of course include food. And I expected so much because of the name of this restaurant. However, not traditional tasty, I think. Unlike me, my friends were satisfied with foods here.
I’ve been coming here for a couple years and I truly believe they have the best Pad Thai in all of Texas. The portion sizes are great and the pricing isn’t too bad either!
I have always gone to the store absolutely delicious food. Will keep on going there
I would say the food is so so, but pay attention, THEY WILL CHARGE YOU DOUBLE TIPS and don't credit you back when you ask for it.
We came on Saturday with friends. When we paid the bill, we asked if the tips was already counted in the bill and the waitress said NO. So we put tips there. When I came back home and took a glance at the receipt, I saw it charged 18% service fee already. I was not very mad at this point and called the restaurant the same day that I wanted to take the tips back since there is already 18% service fee charged. They said I will be contacted by Monday. Of course, no one contacted me on Monday. I called again and was told I would by contacted that day. Again, no surprise, no one contacted. And today, I called them one more time. The waitress told me the manager and her husband is on vacation, asking me to wait after they came back. How ridiculous is it! They just treat you as trash. They overcharged me and asked me to wait and wait??! If you don't wait, you are not cool. I called them twice before the manager took vacation, but she did not take care of it. Now ask me to wait again?? I expressed my urgent to get this resolved now in the phone and the waitress told me that she's going to hung up the phone... (What??!)
Frankly speaking, it's not a big deal pay more, rather it's the attitude they treat you making you feel awful.
So if you don't mind to pay double tips, go for it. If you've accidentally been charged double tips and you don't mean to, don't wast time with them and get negative feelings. Just contact your bank.
They need to tell people there hot is way hotter than anyone restaurant. don't trust their ratings. Cashier was like, "That's so weird, hahaha. Couldn't even eat was too hot and again waitress that's so weird hahaha. N. Don't go they suck in customer service.
Went for lunch. Seated immediately. Pad Thai was enough for 3 meals for me! Food was good. I'd definitely go back to try other dishes.
My wife and I enjoyed good Thai food here. Pretty authentic Thai food.
We love eating here. Always consistently great food at a good price.
Chada thai is one of my favorite go to resturaunt for basil fried rice. Their Pad kee mao, Basil fried rice and Pad kra Prao are always tasty and never disappointing. Would recommend trying here.
I generally don’t write negative review unless I see a pattern. I am going to this place for long time, and I have seen their service going downhill. Today I placed an order over phone and they told me it will be ready in 20 minutes. One hour later the order was not ready yet, after probing I came to know they forgot to send the order to kitchen. I cancelled the order and probably not coming back.
We have severe gluten allergic person in my house, and chada has always been delicious and never glutened us
Editing my review from 3 stars to 4 after several more visits; while it’s not the best Thai food I’ve ever had, it is consistently good, and our order has always been ready on time.
Original review: I got Pad Thai with a 1 out of 5 spice level, and it was extremely spicy. My husband who prefers a lot of spice tried it and it was almost too much spice for him. We picked up the food, and it was difficult to find a parking spot. Some positives were that the prices were decent, the order was ready on time, and the food was hot even after we drove home.
Good food for this price
I was just in here picking up an order I placed for a thai basil fried rice and a sweet tea. My total was about $16.00, not realizing when I was walking to my car. I said maybe they raised the price on the food cause of the pandemic not realizing it's not the food it's the sweet tea $4.00 . I felt robbed . I went back and asked her nicely, "Can you please take off the ice tea, I no longer need it. Oh, we can't do that it's already been placed . I don't think I will ever go to that place again. Sadly the food is really good but customer service sucks.
Loved the food. Service was good. Flooring could use renewal and Tables/chairs were not up to the par with the interiors. Gang Pa was highlight. Definitely will go again for Thai food.
The food here is always so good!
This is hands down and I've lived here for 30 year's. This is a canary in a coal mine This place Gordon Ramsay would say unbelievable I think the chef here is phenomenal I think this is one of the best restaurants in Texas That's just me. I want to try the fish but it cost $50 and I bet it's worth it this chef is phenomenal. And Gordon Ramsay maybe you'll pay attention and come here and then I get to eat the fish for free. 🙏😇👍
I recently dined a couple times at ChadaThai and had a delightful experience on both occassions!
The Chicken (& Tofu) Basil Fried Rice was exceptional, perfectly blending flavors and textures. The appetizer, Golden Bags, were a delicious start to the meal, crispy and flavorful. What impressed me most was the fast service – my order arrived promptly. Additionally, the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend ChadaThai for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine.
Have never had such tasteless Thai food ever. Had Pad kee Mao and crab fried rice. Did not like it at all.
this restaurant is twenty miles from me and i would walk every single mile to eat a bowl of their tom kha
Tried the Basil fried rice for take out and it was very tasty! The flavors were definitely there! Will be going back to try other dishes.
Excellent Thai food, always yummy and consistant. My go to for Thai.
Helpful staff, I was hot and thirsty and had to wait for a friend. Woman brought me ice water while waited. Appreciate that.
Wow, what a meal at Chada Thai! I tried the Pad Kee Mao, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of amazing. The noodles were just right, loaded with chilies, garlic, and Thai basil. Spicy, flavorful, and a total taste-bud party.
The textures were on point, too, with tender noodles mixed with crisp veggies and meat. Service was friendly, and the whole vibe of the place just felt right.
If you're in the mood for some real Thai goodness, Chada Thai's Pad Kee Mao is the way to go. Can't wait to go back for seconds!
If you like Thai cuisine, this is the spot! You got to try the Mango sticky rice dessert, you will thank me later.
Update:
Went back again tonight for dinner, we had the Papaya Salad, Pad See Mao with chicken and Tom Yum soup with chicken. I cannot stress to yall enough, this place is legit!!
Update July 10th, 2023:
So I have discovered that they serve Khoa Soi today, I don't know how I have overlooked the menu for as many times I have eaten here. Yeah.. absolutely my new favorite. I can literally eat this every day..
Three of us dined in recently. While we agree that most of the food was tasty and generously portioned, I don't recommend dining in due to order timing issues. We received one entree first, followed by the starters. A few minutes later a second entree came out. After a very long wait (first two diners basically finished) I asked when the third entree would be ready. The server said that dish takes a long time to cook, and they brought it out quickly. Our experience would have been much better if the starters had come first, then all the entrees at once as is customary in most restaurants. Also, if a dish requires unusually long cooking time this should be communicated up-front.
I dream of Cha-da Thai. Everything I've ever tasted is amazing. The curries, the noodles, the stir fries, the grilled meat plates, the cheese rolls. *drool*
I did a take out order last week. The basil fried rice was awful. I’m not sure how you can mess up a fried rice order. It was completely bland. The pad see eew was way too salty. I’m not sure if the cook was just having a bad day but I wouldn’t come back
My 1-star review is for the health and safety. Today when I ate dinner, the men's bathroom had a dead cockroach on the floor and it smelt like pesticide and irritated my eyes. I mentioned this to the staff and they said that the exterminator sprayed in the morning. I think they should have aired out the bathroom before serving customers and at least pick up the dead cockroach from the bathroom when they clean.
Otherwise, the food here is pretty good and the portion size is large. I won't be returning here though because of the health and safety concerns mentioned.
This is simply great food. I've thoroughly enjoyed everything I have tried here. My favorite is the golden bags and the yellow chicken curry. The portions are very generous.
The games on the floor are probably maddening for kids but its cool to see so many different crane games again.
The food was so good when my husband and I popped in on a Sunday! We got the Veggie bag and Veggie eggroll appetizer, grilled marinated chicken dish, and curry chicken, they were all super delicious! Love their Thai chili sauce dips too 😋
Good taste, came here with friends, wspecially enjoyed the coconut milk icecream. Their rice was half cooked and difficult to bite. But other than that, their noodles and khao soi was delicious
literally been my favorite place in cedar park for years. been coming here for the pad see ew since i could drive. always a pleasure to visit when i'm in town. they have sapporo too.
Bought takeout, the food is super delicious! everything is hot and delicious! long (sometimes long waiting time)
When food delivered the order felt light.. now I see a few reviews saying reduced portions.. I wish I knew after ordering $70 take out to find 11 bean sprouts and a pinch of shredded carrots in Pad Thai, small amount of peanut crumbles, no green onion! etc.. pad Thai is one of the cheapest food in Thailand and I love it but $17 bowl full of noodles and few shrimp feels like a rip off. Papaya salad size reduced. I love the gluten free options
Didn’t like the taste of it. Chicken didn’t get cooked. Will never go to this again.
Fried rice is good and grilled beef. Wait was a bit long when we dined in but not when we went for take out.
Ordered the golden bags, drunken noodles, pad thai and panang curry to-go.
Positives:
-Prices are reasonable - $11 for stir fry dishes, $12 for currys.
-Pad thai was pretty tasty - decent amount of sauce, good noodles and flavor.
-Service was very friendly and quick.
Negatives:
-Drunken noodles were oddly very white (lacking sauce?), more al dente noodles than what drunken noodles typically looks like. It was a huge pile of noodles and not much else?
-Panang curry was disappointingly watery and also lacking much flavor.
Somewhere in between:
-Golden bags were a bit hit/miss. Some were stuffed full of sweet potato and not much else. Some were full mostly of the curry chicken. More of a yellow curry taste (not my personal favorite but the fiancé liked it) but a great crispness and fun shape
Listen, don't listen to the negative reviews. I'm not sure about the employees as I did not deal with them. I was greeted by, and fed by the owner and I can tell you with 1000% confidence (yes, even on the first visit) this man is passionate. The food is fantastic. I'm gonna bring him by some of the worlds hottest chili's for him to make me a pad kee mao with. ;) That's right! If you're reading this sir, don't think I forgot! You'll see me again.
The service is excellent the food is cooked fresh, fast and it’s always hot.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place everything is always delicious nicely served and we always leave with leftovers.
Our family is very found Thai food and we been visiting this place for almost 4 years. Food is really great but at time we have issues especially when there is change of chef. My recent experience to this place is very bad and unforgettable. I had ordered House fried rice with Shrimp meat and observed the shrimp was not cooked/sauted properly as it tastes raw. So we called the gentleman (JOHN) who was serving food and complained about it and he did mentioned that no he had seen the chef sauted the shrimp which was not the case. As was not happy i had not given him the TIP and as i have not given the tip he had used abusive words which was not at all acceptable.
Excellent food. Hard to find good Thai around here, and this was a great find!
Excellent
Veggie Golden bombs are delicious, the yellow curry (add veggies) is usually so so good. We visit here often. This last time I had one piece of broccoli, 2 pieces of cauliflower, and then it was jammed packed with cabbage and onion… not sure if there was a new cook but it seemed like they were trying to save money on veggies or something? My husband got the chicken yellow curry add veggies and he said there was hardly any chicken and same thing so much cabbage. Hopefully just a fluke visit.
This Thai food experience was wonderful. We ordered Tom Kha Gai (chicken) soup and Pad See Ewe and Panang Curry (red curry) with a side of Egg Rolls . It was all top notch. The service was very helpful and friendly and the whole visit was a great experience. I would encourage any one who loves Thai food to check this place out.
Food was very good. Staffs were very friendly.
Ordered Basil fried rice chicken here and it's the worst. Rice and vegetables are not even cooked. not sure if they check if it is fully cooked or not before delivering it to customer. Pathetic food
Great Thai food! Overall great place to grab Thai cuisine in the cedar park area. I really enjoyed the basil fried rice and of course the tom kha. The Thai iced coffee and tea was lacking compared to other Thai restaurants (maybe a little less syrup?).
One of the best fried rice I’ve ever tried
Service was great. The waitress was very kind. However when we ordered our entrees 2 of them came out about 3-5 minutes after we ordered (a little too fast if you ask me, makes me wonder if they microwaved it)? Then the other 2 entrees 15 minutes later. Timing was bad and the food itself was alright. A little greasy and the flavor of the noodles and fried rice was just ok. The soup (I think it was the Tom Kha) was amazing. Flavor was on point. Overall this place is worth a try.
Decent food, well portioned & priced well. I've only eaten here once so can only speak to the items I ordered as far as taste goes. I had the summer roles and the Tom Kha soup. The wraps could have used some basil or cilantro & the dipping sauce was a little bland. The soup was good but not excellent. Furnishings were plain & looked worn & dated but this is not a high-end place & can easily be discounted when just wanting to enjoy a good meal at a great price! I definitely plan to go back
Good ambience, great location and nice food.
I have a ridiculous amount of food allergies and intolerances and this is one of the few places in town that hasn't made me sick, plus the food is amazing and super filling, probably my favourite Thai place and one of my favourite restaurants all together. Higly recommended!

Curry I ordered at medium spice was so good. It is one of the recommended dishes from my side. Perfect balance of sweet, sour and spice.
Ordered Tom Kha and it was 90% broth...which, fine bc the flavor was good, so I just had broth with rice. However, I was there with my mother and we both ordered the same thing. I let the manager know and the response was, "So, what do you want me to do? How do I know you didn't eat it all first." 🤣 We won't be going back. Gave the waitress a good tip anyway bc she was kind and did a great job.
1 star bc if the management is bad, the restaurant is bad. It trickles down.
After reading a couple reviews, it looks like they decreased portions possibly due to inflation, which makes sense. She could have said something like that, or simply I'll take note of it/discuss with kitchen, or simply I appreciate the feedback. Literally anything would have been better than her response.
Consistently really great! Love the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Tom Kha.
Decided to try something different and came across Chada Thai. Wow we were greatly pleased with the super friendly waiter and superior delicious food served at a wonderful temperature. We will definitely be back and keep this restaurant in our regular rotation.
We went on Saturday night as the place next to it had a 45 minute wait. It first looked like more of a pick up place than a restaurant but we sure loved our night there. The table was sticky which was the only downside for me. The beef noodle soup was tasty. The dishes were rich and filling.
wow. the food was so good. ordered some dong yam soup and curry. I am so happy I ordered this food tonight. had so much flavor. it's obvious they pay a lot of attention to detail. my new favorite take out spot
I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Truly delicious food and friendly service every time!
This place made us Jain (no onion, no garlic)Vegan food. We ordered Pad Thai Veggie fried rice and summer rolls.
Food was tasty. Had soup and curry. Enjoyed the soup. I'll note, it came with a ladle, as one would expect. When the curry arrived, no ladle. So we used the same one, not the end of the world. I had an unsweet ice tea. I got my first refill as we were getting ready to leave. To put into perspective, it probably could have been filled two additional times in between. The curry was OK, but nothing special. Soup was better.
Love Chada Thai! The lunch specials are fantastic!
great experience. Food was hot and tasty. We enjoyed our time.
Poor service. Bland & tasteless food.
Best thai food in this part of town!
Delicious curry, Pad Thai and Thai tea! Recommeded!
We ordered basil fried rice and penang curry.. my wife and myself got sick in the evening after eating lunch here. Never again.
Service is always good and super nice but they have messed up my order a couple of times in the past. However still amazing food and well worth it. Definitely one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Austin. Always well worth the visit.
Always love eating here! The food is fantastic and the service is friendly. I wish the tables weren't ALWAYS sticky though, even when they wipe them off again. Still, definitely going back.
The golden bags and Thom Kha soup are the best items IMHO. But yeah everything is great here. Friendly and attentive staff. Bonus points for checking on my water refill, I drink a lot.
We ordered the house fried rice, Pad Kee Mao, and Pad Pak take out. The food was prepared quickly BUT it was SO spicy we couldn’t even eat it. I ordered a level 1 for two of them and a level 2 for the other. I can handle some spice but this was WAY too much!
Ordered take out food was average, but the portions were ridiculously small
Good customer service, food was pretty good. Masman curry and pad thai were delish. Will come back again
Very good food, on time, loved the curry
Food was really tasty and delicious
My favorite Thai restaurant in the Austin area. I love their curries and the egg rolls are perfection! Excellent Thai food. Highly recommend.
My gf and I really loved the food and service here.
But we almost passed it up because the posted hours on their door showed no Sunday hours.
I'm glad we poked out head in!
We ended up splitting an entree and appetizer and portions were quite generous.
The wait staff was very good and friendly.
We'll go back again.
Pretty good
Terrible customer service
We’ve been coming to this place for 5 years now. We support this business and believe in their food. Theres some changes in the menu we noticed but they need to adapt to the changing times. They put the same heart in their food and that I will gladly pay for. Stay Strong Chada Thai!
Food was decent but I found a piece of plastic in my food. Accidents happen and it’s not a huge deal but still not something you want to see
