Simple counter-service restaurant offering traditional Thai curry, rice & noodle dishes.
Good, accurate spice level on the Pad Kee Maow. Noodles were a bit thin for this dish, but still pretty good. Very hot wok, fresh and tasty. The fresh shrimp roll was good, the peanut sauce was amazing.
They don't have lunch specials or portions, and that would have been nice during the lunch hours, but, that's ok. Had a huge plate to take home.
No places to sit mid-day. Luckily a couple people left while waiting, so a spot came open. Seems to be a very popular spot.
Tried this place for the first time last week and I really enjoyed it! I true the chicken pad Tai and ordered egg rolls with it. I also got a Tai iced tea, which I highly recommend!
The pad Tai was great! I was asked when I ordered for level of spice I wanted 1-5...I said a 2... and it was perfect. It was so flavorful and just a hint of spice. It was a huge portion as well, enough for two meals. The egg rolls were the best I've had in town for a crunchy spring roll type egg roll.
I will be back to try a couple other things and I know I will crave those spring Rolls! I would recommend this spot to others as well.
My absolute favorite thai place in town. Their Tom Kah is incredible. Haven't had anything here i didn't like. Staff is always super friendly and quick
Awful experience! Got charged $65.00 to get home with someone else order. For them to argue and tell me there not going to refund me even though they admitted there mistake. Instead of pineapple fried rice, mango sticky rice, and Mongolian beef . I recieved some nasty Pad Thia with tofu, some other kind of pad thia, orange chicken, and some weird beef and brocoli rice. Do not recommend, also the owner is rude and should learn to correct a mistake instead of yell at the customer for there own mix up. Mind you we live over an hr away and stopped because we wanted dinner after grocery shopping.
Pretty great little place. Good prices too. We have tried the Pad see Ewe and the Pad Thai The noodle dishes could use a bit more sauce, but we still really enjoyed it.
Updating my review. I want to change it to 5 stars now that I have tried more items on the menu. I still like to order my pad see ewe with extra sauce and then it's really great. I have also tried other curries on the menu out and they are really great, the spice and flavors are really well done.
The only downside is that they aren't open on sunday/monday and for some reason, that's when I always find myself craving it.

This establishment has great food, faster, service, and good prices. My favorite is the Tom Yum soup.

I am obsessed with Pad Thai Express's amazing egg rolls! I will go out of my way to get them and dream about them the next few days. Their other good is great as well, but I can't rave enough about the egg rolls!!

Update: Six years later and this is still my favorite Thai place in Olympia!
Love this place. Have lived in west Oly a couple years now and this is my regular spot for Thai food. Always great quality food.
Great service
First time trying Pad Thai Express & it won't be my last. The Pad Thai was was excellent!
Very nice and yummy food.
Great food with big portions. Honestly, the price is cheap compared to other Thai restaurants. I recommend to anyone that wants to try pad Thai for the first time.
The BEST orange chicken !!!
I have and would easily give this place 4.5 to 5 stars but the last time I was there the food was not what it was, and today we set off to get dinner having checked the web sight which said it was open and it was not!!! This recked my hole evening, if you are going out of town or not open when you usually would be FOR GOD SAKE UPDATE YOUR WEB SIGHT TO REFLECT THE CANGE OF DAYS OR HOURS! Especially when you are leaving it closed for over 10 days, the note on the door say they will be closed until the 23rd.
My favorite spot for pad Thai. Seems like most people get food to go here the interior is not fancy but this is one of those spots that are consistent with their food and you can get good food every time although I do not order anything other than pad thai.
I just tried Phas Thai Express. The food was not good. They really hammered both the chicken and beef dishes I ordered. The meats were tough, rubbery, dry, and tasteless. When I told the server they had overcooked the meats, she rudely said that I was the first to ever complain. I was trying to be nice and let them know rather than resorting to a Google review, but she told me go ahead and leave a bad review. So here it is. Be warned: the food is bad and the service is worse.
Been coming here for a couple of years now. They always have big portion size and their price is always lower than other thai spots around. They could work on their seating, theres only one big table for groups of 6+. My favorite here is the orange chicken and and pad thai.
Used to like this place and order it all the time. But sometimes they have a horrible cook sometimes, an islander lady working who can’t cook and completely ruins the pad see ew every time
Pretty great little place. Good prices too. We have tried the Pad see Ewe and the Pad Thai The noodle dishes could use a bit more sauce, but we still really enjoyed it.

I don’t normally post reviews but the food was so bad thought I should mention it since the other reviews seems so good. We ordered the vegan pad see ew and the noodles were not your traditional Thai wide noodles. There’re very little vegetables with no tofu and the sauce taste nothing like pad see ew. Never thought pad see ew can taste bad but I was so wrong. Tried many vegan pad see ew at other Thai places in town and I they were all so much better.
My fams go to for Thai on the westside!!! We love it!!!
Pad Thai Express is always a winner for Pad Thai. They are peanut-free, unless requested which is nice for us that are intolerant. They use the correct noodle for Pad See Ew and they also have a really great Wonton soup. When we are under the weather, grab some wonton soup to make everything better. Fresh rolls are yummy with plum sauce, but also available with peanut sauce. Quite busy at lunch, sometimes no room to sit. But they do take out too! Also, they offer Bubble Tea!
This is THE best Thai food in Olympia, Tumwater and Lacey. Period.
A hidden gem. The Thai food is fantastic. I love all of the curry dishes. I am crazy about the mango sticky rice. The food isn’t fast so I call ahead for pickup.
Pad Thai was swimming in what tasted like McD's sweet and sour sauce. Not going back.
The food here is definitely tasty, but I’m disappointed with their panang (unsure if that’s spelled right) curry. I don’t remember them using frozen peas and carrots the last time I ordered the curry, but that was months ago so it may just be a one time thing. Although the flavor of the curry was on point the peas and carrots they used just destroyed the dish. The flavor and texture of frozen peas and carrots did not mix well. When I say flavor and texture, as I bit into the peas I tasted the distinct taste of frozen peas and the mushiness when you bite into the peas and carrots. Other than that the other dishes pad Thai and ginger broccoli were wonderful. Full of flavor!!!
Very fresh veggie roll, really fresh and large egg rolls, generous portions. Slightly greasy, and rather bland peanut sauce. Fried rice dish and ginger broccoli was very good.
One star off for the single Styrofoam container, most items were in (preferred) paperboard containers.
I just call to order. the person answer the phone kept asking how spicy. Then, I told her no spice, no onion. Then, I thought she can't hear me...the lady over the phone was telling me...are you yelling at me!!!!??? And she just hang up the phone. Then I kept calling and calling and calling she just hang up the phone!!!! if you are the owner or employee, you shouldn't be in customer service or don't open a business or dont work at the restaurant. It's very rude!!!!
I try the panang curry at every Thai restaurant I visit. This place managed the absolute blandest Thai dish I have ever experienced.
It was awesome! great food and great people!
Stevie-poo ❤️
Great atmosphere, good prices, amazing food!!!!
This is really good stuff. As good as the best sit down Thai restaurant. Highly recommended.
Excellent! The food exceeded my expectations, was priced reasonably, and was quickly prepared.
Take out review: Very tasty and quick Pad Thai! I just wish there was more shrimp in my order since they charge extra for it. Crab Rangoons are pretty good too, though I’ve had others with more crab in them. Overall, yummy food and I would definitely eat here again.
Fast delicious and authentic
Love their food!!!!
Horrible, oily, not fresh, bland, first you see a huge stack dirty plates walk in, ignore you for least 5min walk in to order, charge $2 for meat don’t tell you, mango fried rice is oily burnt large big cut chunks of onion and mango, it’s ashame really. I wish I listened and left right away . Waste of time and money. With better choices nearby.
Tables were not cleaned well, TVs above counter and kitchen were COATED in a very thick layer of dust, cob webs through out. Service was slow and inattentive. Despite feeling uncleanly, I actually didn't dislike the food. That being said, I'm not going to eat there again unless the place gets cleaned up.
Meh. Not nearly as good as lemon grass and not much cheaper. Not many options around so, it’s ok.
Tried this place for the first time last week and I really enjoyed it! I true the chicken pad Tai and ordered egg rolls with it. I also got a Tai iced tea, which I highly recommend!

I will be back to try a couple other things and I know I will crave those spring Rolls! I would recommend this spot to others as well.
Good Thai food at a reasonable price
Who cares what the place looks like when you are filled with great food! Don't get me wrong the atmosphere is just fine for a quick takeout type place. The food is really, really good. I'm partial to their green curry, but I've had their Pad Thai, Crab Rangoon, and a few others. Super owners and kind staff. I actually went through green curry withdrawals when they closed in January for holiday!
My favorite Thai place in Olympia.
Yellow Curry is my defining Thai dish- there’s is fantastic and the portion is large. Rice comes with most entrees and is not a separate charge. We also ordered Tofu Fresh Roll and Fried Tofu (best fried tofu I have ever had), Thai Basil with chicken, and Thai fried rice with shrimp. No complaints.
I enjoy eating here. Their peanut noodle is good. The portions are a bit smaller than other Asian restaurants but at least they serve rice with their entrees unlike other Thai restaurants. Sometimes they get a bit overwhelmed with customer demand. That’s okay as long as food quality is not sacrificed.
My favorite place to get food. Awesome wide rice noodle dishes.
Very fresh and warm, good portions, but whatever sauce they use for Pad Kee Mao is really not good. Also a 2star is very mild. Go with 3 or 4. Husband had Thai Basil, was also very bland, zero depth. Not authentic Thai tastes
Best authentic Thai food in WA hands down!
To be honest, I would pay way more for their food. There is a lot of great Thai food in the area, but never have I felt so lucky to try theirs. Everytime I stopped they were diligent to my requests and even know how to make it spicy. They even have options so you can add spicy to your food if you are unsure.
Their spring rolls are crisp and one of the few places that inspired me to try and make my own. They have a really unique peanut sauce that is my personal favorite. I wouldn't skip any moment I spent their with just enough for lunch between classes.
Shoutout to all the other Thai food in the area. This one is one of my favorites.
Most people seem to take the food home. We usually do! Everything we have ever had has been excellent! I want to order one of EVERYTHING, but our mainstay is usually the curry. Always cooked to perfection. There really isn't much in the way of table service, but that's because most people use tables as waiting spots for take-out orders. We usually try to tidy up after eating there because they are almost always very busy. They are always friendly!
The food was great - we tried a wide selection of items as first time here. Each dish was appetizing and hot, even with drive home. It was very busy and did take a little longer than expected but that was fine given fresh food. Will definitely be a return customer.
The won ton soup is amazing.
My favorite Thai place. So much flavor.
This place was incredible. The food was made so quick and was so good, but the server there made me feel like royalty. I don't think I've ever experienced such genuine hospitality at such a place. Amazing spot. I'd be there all the time if I lived near Oly.
Alwayz enjoy their food great service
SOME OF THE BEST FOOD IN TOWN
Tasteless , oily noodles .. no cilantro, no parnuts, no other spices. Flat horrible noodles . Don't try pad Thai here dispute it's name
We enjoyed our visit very much
We picked up and brought it home it was good..
Weekly take out dinners with mom wouldn't be the same without Pad Thai Express. Never disappointed.
Hands down best Thai food in West Olympia!
My family favorite mango chicken fried rice. We order it by the tray size. also the crying tiger salad is fabulous. I personally love the yellow curry with chicken as well.
This place is always slammed; so, call ahead. Though tucked away in an indistinct strip mall, for the money you will not be disappointed.
One of my fav go to spots for Pad Se Ew or Pad Thai in Oly.
I get the orange chicken every time and spice level 5. So good and fast. Thank you.
The negative reviews of this place are hilarious! The food here is wonderful, they are always quite busy but we never have to wait too long. The fresh rolls are delicious and the peanut sauce is ace. The food tastes fresh. Don’t know why people are complaining about prices - have they been living in the same world as the rest of us for the last couple of years? Prices are normal here and the food is real, super tasty and the people who work here are sweet and clearly working quite hard. Very happy to support this business ✨
Really good standard Thai dishes, reasonable prices. They're almost always busy, but you can enjoy the amazing smells from their open kitchen and watch the cooks work while you wait. Highly recommend!
Good pad thai and orange chicken. Good portions and also have bubble tea. Nothing to complain about. Always delicious.
Amazing food made fresh and quickly! I had pad see ew for the first time and I would totally go back for more!
Used to love this place. Quirky but cheap so worth it. Tonight we ordered pad thai and pad seewu. Ordered with veggies. I got 2 pieces of overcooked broccoli and some cabbage. Wife ordered hers with veggies got all sorts of fresh veggies. Good noodles, bit sweet but still good. Normally, meh because the prices are cheap but since they raised their prices - super worth looking around. Sorry, folks.
Went to get takeout for my birthday tonight and got beef yellow curry spice level 3 and a chicken pad Thai no spice
. I was disappointed to find that the curry came with barely even a handful of beef (paid an extra $1 for beef ) and more onion than anything else . I was even MORE disappointed when I tried it and it was extremely good and the spiceness was a perfect medium heat . I loved everything about the flavor . My husband and I haven’t enjoyed good Thai like this since we lived in Australia . Just really wish my ingredients would have been there as that made my experience not as great as it could have been .
Fantastic food and service.
Been coming here for years. Very consistently good food and affordable prices. I do see a sign on the door saying prices will increase in Feb.
I ordered the veggie Tom Yum soup to go and upon returning home found the broccoli flowerlets were yellow. I called the restaurant and offered to send them a photo but they insisted I had to bring it back to get a refund, then tried to tell me broccoli turns yellow in soup, except that the crowns were green but the sides were yellow! Anyway I live too far from the restaurant to want to bother but definitely not satisfied that they put stale veggies in my soup then tried to get me to make another trip just to show it to them in person. Plus the push back on the phone was disappointing. The curries are too sweet to eat, do not recommend.
Good selections, we have 7 in our family with different tastes in food and we can find something for everyone.
The food was decent but their spice level is definitely misleading. I got a 4 and it wasn’t spicy at all. My friend got a 5 and it was the same as a level 1. I like spice so that was disappointing
The fried rice and chow mien is So delicious!
Absolutely fantastic place! I've loved every dish I've had but the Pad See Ew is the absolute best!!!!! Seriously, give this place a try!
Much to our disappointment the food was very mediocre. Additionally, it is next to impossible to find their current menu and (drastically increased) prices. Their business should take action and update their prices on their own web site and the internet. Currently photos and menus show old prices of $8.99, and 9.99, but they charge $11.99! Additionally they issue receipts without showing the type of food served or even the tax ! There is just a single total charge, but you can't tell what you are being charged for! What could go wrong with that!!??
Affordable, large portions, and tasty. However, for better or worse, this place doesn't have traditional wait staff service -- you pay first, rather than after. So, on one hand, you aren't pressured to tip.
On the other... while the food was brought quickly, at no point did anyone come ask us how we were doing and there was no tea, soup or even water provided -- so if you want that kind of setting, this is not the Thai place for you. But where this place really loses stars for me is that the food was also unnecessarily oily, and I was given pad kee mao instead of pad see ew.
This place could still be the perfect fit for you because it IS affordable, but it just wasn't a good match for us on our date night. Don't bring a girl here. I don't know how it has such high reviews. Hold yourself to higher standards! If my order had been correct and both dishes not drenched in oil, the rating would have been higher. As it stands now -- we have no reason to come back.
Super good!!👍👍👍
The food is really good, my only complaint is that sometimes the place is a bit dirty but nothing to bad. Great place to go if your looking for a good meal for a low price
Always great attitude, and amazing food!!
Very nice ppl food was ok for quickness. No heat and small portions compared to others I been to . would I return meh I would give them another chance.
always great. dispute attitude.
We’ve been searching for 2years since we moved here for good authentic Thai food. FOUND IT!
It’s not a fancy place but the food is excellent. Great flavors, generous portions. The best Pad See Ew I’ve had outside of Seattle. The Cashew Chicken was really great. Cooked perfectly and good balance of flavors with veggies and rice on the side. Next to the Starbucks off Cooper pt Rd and Harrison in a strip mall, but who cares? It’s really delicious.
Delicious Pad Kee Mao!!
Great food and great customer service!
We found Pad Thai while in West Olympia for other reasons. What a treat!! The red curry was awesome, perfectly prepared with 3-star heat, and my friend said the fried rice with combination pork, beef and shrimp was the best he'd ever had. We'll be back for sure!! Prices are reasonable, and service is friendly and efficient. If you like good Thai food, you won't be disappointed!
Literally the best Pinneapple Chicken Fried Rice I have ever had in my life. I try to order other things when I come here, but I can't. Just get 2 orders of the Fried Rice and be done with it!
Damn good food and good service
So good go there at least once a week if not more
This restaurant consistently knocks it out of the park! My go to is Pad Thai and it's never been less than excellent.
Always great food and fast!!
Pad Thai express, glad to see you open. Great food, if you like Thai. Rock on
Phenomenal!! I love the basil fried rice, pineapple fried rice, and mango sticky rice!
Delicious prices and food!
Great food and tea!
Outstanding Thai place. Small seating area that is not open right now. Take away only. Hint; call in for faster service on busy weekend hours.
We come here a lot and love it! Best place we have found in Olympia yet!
I already waited 45 minutes. I'm annoyingly impatient, and the food was well worth the wait to any other person who's impatient.. just shut up, chill, and wait its worth it.
Great Thai food. Good spice. Quick service
Good thai food at great prices. The young woman always remembers to put the hot sauce i like in my package without me asking. Excellent memory and customer service
They are kind and have delicious food. LOTS of take out orders so be understanding of estimated times.
Best crispy orange chicken next to mine!
The peanut sauce noodles are beyond delicious. A family favorite now. Really enjoy the fresh rolls as well. My husband likes the cashew dish as well. Highly recommend if you need a noodle fix
The pad thai is alright, I grab it on the go sometimes since it's speedy and cheap. Wouldn't reccomend venturing to other dishes on the menu
Food was good as usual, but order took 15 minutes longer than stated when ordered. Frustrating that no explanation was given. Still great food.
A hidden gem in Olympia, everything I've had from here has been excellent. Would recommend ordering ahead of time as they are very busy in the evenings.
Everything that I have ordered from this place was delicious. The food is always consistent in quality and flavor. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are plentiful. Service is also fast and courteous. This is my go to thai restaurant.
CRISPY ORANGE CHICKEN - Thank Me Later
Been coming here a few years now. The pad Thai they make is my favorite around. They cook their tofu perfectly. Some places the noodles are dry and don’t have much flavor, not the case here. Noodles always have a ton of flavor and they actually nail the spice level everytime, never too spicy like others I’ve had. Also the crab rangoons and sauce are great. Very consistent and affordable in comparison to other Thai restaraunts.
This place is great. We love the pad thai and fried rice.
There's something special about this little place, and I hope with all my heart they're able to reopen soon. Fresh vegetables, delicious spring rolls, fast, skillful preparation and good vibes---just can't wait to see them again!
I always love their crab ragoon
Cashew nut wich chicken and gyoza were amazing. My wife loved her Tom soup and fresh rolls were very fresh ! I recommend this food 😁 Oh! Thai iced coffee was insanely delicious.
Great place to eat great prices very clean and friendly staff
Best Thai Food in Olympia. Always come back for more.
Can get busy sometimes but this is because it is delicious and pretty consistant . Surprising for a place with express in the name
Everytime I've come here the service is fast and the employees are kind.
Thai Coffee is amazing, and I generally get pad ki mao or fried rice and I've never had any issues and it's always VERY fast as the name of the establishment implies.
Food is delicious!
Excellent food at very gopd price.
Just note moslty the dishes have oyster sauce. Not suitable for vegans.
Wonderful food amazing service
Best Thai in town. Period. Ambience is lacking, but the food makes up for it!
Consistently great and priced well. Easily best thai place in town. Love their fried rice option but their noodles, curries, etc are all great as well.
I love this place!! Food is always fresh and delicious, cooked to perfection. Vegetarian friendly - Anything can be made meatless by subbing with tofu. I love their fresh rolls with peanut sauce, sometimes I'll get a double order and just have that for lunch. Service is fast but everything is still so tasty. Highly recommend!
Food was okay, wait was long
The food is amazing! But, sadly I won’t be returning. The restaurant is very dirty and the food was being prepped with bare hands. Sad....
Spicy 👍
Excellent food, prices, and friendly staff. A hidden gem of West Olympia.
