Excellent customer service. Delicious food. BEST Thai around.

Diner Review №2

If you’re having trouble picking a place to eat, look no further. I had my first Thai food here today and loved it! They’ve set high expectations for everywhere else. I had the pad thai with duck, kanom jeeb dumplings, and chicken spring rolls. The decorations were cute too.

Diner Review №4

I ordered through Grubhub and the service was ok, but the Tom Ka soup is gross. It doesn’t have any flavor at all - tastes like it was diluted with a lot of hot water. In addition, it only has a couple of shreds of chicken and no veggies but a lot of onions, some cherry tomatoes, lemongrass, and basil leaves (some stuff you cannot eat!). Disgusting. And pricey - paid $15 when in Thai Tara I can get a good size bowl for $5. Will never eat here again.

Diner Review №5

A little pricey but always a great meal made with all fresh ingredients.
Like most restaurants, the prices have grown and the portions have shrunk.

Diner Review №6

Whatever you do. DO NOT ORDER TAKEOUT FROM THIS PLACE. They packed my soup soo hot that it melted through the plastic container and the bag they put it in. So now my BRAND new car stinks and I have to rip out the carpets because these people don't know what they are doing. I'm sure it was good. But not this good. I call them back for a refund and they said NOPE

This tiny little cup costs 15$

Diner Review №11

Decent food and friendly staff, but the prices are too high for what you receive in return.

Diner Review №12

My first time here and the vegetable spring rolls and pad Thai are delicious. The man who took my order guessed my spice level perfectly and everything couldn't taste better. I'll be going back plenty of times after this and I'm really glad it was recommended to me.

Diner Review №13

Very good Thai food, price is good also

Diner Review №14

Diner Review №15

I love this restaurant! I come to the Newport News location even though it’s further from my house, because they’re so lovely there and the food is always very good. My husband’s obsessed. We love the drunken noodles, and the curries are solid. The beef salad and coconut soup were also good! They’re really good about adjusting the spice level too. Also one time I spilled my Thai iced tea all over the floor and the guy was super super nice about it!

Diner Review №16

We stopped in for lunch after some shopping and everything tasted delicious. Our order was promptly taken and food came out hot and fresh. The decor is authentic Thai style and much better than most Asian restaurants. Definitely would go back. I gave a 4/5 because the couple behind us kept letting their phone ring and it was incredibly loud and annoying.

Diner Review №17

make sure to order tom yam soup seafood.

Diner Review №18

Employees are rude. And Ask for hot spice on side never got it

Diner Review №19

Always great food

Diner Review №20

Diner Review №21

Decent Thai food. Clean environment, polite staff.

Diner Review №22

Very good Thai food with great portion size. I'll be back! Not anymore!!!!

Well, I've been back several times, but today, 2/1/24, what happened!!! Prices are higher! Quantities lower! Lunch portion for dinner menu. Here's a pic of my yum salad that came in a small plastic container with 3 half slices of cucumber, 1 slice of onion (if that), 2 lettuce leaves that were all rib, smaller plastic cup of rice, and hardly any sauce. Horribly disappointing. Pad See Yu has about 3 or 4 shrimp and no sauce ( hubby not here to count shrimp yet). Grandson said 4, maybe 5, shrimp and hardly any sauce on the pad thai. They used to be good.

Diner Review №23

We stopped here for lunch to go on our way to Busch Gardens and were SO pleasantly surprised at the quality of our meal! We got veggie spring rolls, steamed dumplings, vegetable pad see ew, vegetable basil rice, and side of white rice for my picky eater. Everything tasted freshly prepared and very flavorful! Great vegan and vegetarian options, just ask for no egg. Will keep this on the list for future stops :)

Diner Review №24

Diner Review №25

Chicken satay was overcooked

Diner Review №26

Love the green curry. It hit the spot in warmth and awesome! Hmm good

Diner Review №27

This was my FIRST time trying this recommended restaurant. Ordered the pad Thai with several meats, and the portion was great, the flavor was bland. Then I ordered FRESH Spring Rolls with shrimp. They were filled with mostly lettuce, grated carrots, noodles and 1 shrimp, maybe 2. Will NOT go back and will NOT recommend going. EXPENSIVE for what you get.
Disappointed. Langley Thai is way better!

Diner Review №28

My favorite Pad Thai in NN!

Diner Review №29

EXCELLENT food! Excellent service. Prices are decent enough. The cheese wontons and dumplings were absolutely delicious!

Diner Review №30

Best Thai food in Hampton Roads. Food was served ultra fast, Aroma of Jasmine rice, sweet basil and fresh spices, taste of delicious eggplant dish, and a very friendly gentleman served the food graciously. And the cost was beyond reasonable. Highly recommend.

Diner Review №31

Perfect Thai food and great price for carry out. Love it and will be eating here again!

Diner Review №32

Yummy yummy yummy! This little restaurant has a great ambiance, kind staff, and delicious food! Go try this place out!

Diner Review №33

The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was nice. The person taking my order was very patient and friendly. The food came very fast. The service was very good. I like the set up of the restaurant also. The food was good. I recommend trying this restaurant. I didn't order my food too spicy since Thai food is the hottest in the world

Diner Review №34

This place is - and I do not say this lightly - the absolute best. We grab lunch or dinner from here quite frequently, and every single dang time it blows me out the water. We always grab take out (which is ready quickly and packaged very nicely accompanied by a sweet reminder to be careful whilst handling it as its hot) and the entire way home I can't think about anything other than stuffing my face with God's gift to mankind - Thai Papaya green curry. I always have a craving for spice that never really goes away as it's difficult to find something that I find truly hot, but this curry at its hottest level is freaking perfect. I get a little sweaty and my face steadily turns redder and I'm the happiest I've ever been.

Thank you, Thai Papaya. I would sell my soul for a singular bite of your curry and I just need you to know that.

Diner Review №35

The place is clean and the food is tasty we definitely recommend this place

Diner Review №36

Diner Review №37

I love this place! Great food for a decent price. Get it 'Thai hot' for a real, spicy flavor!

Diner Review №38

Diner Review №39

The best Thai food restaurant in Newport News.

Diner Review №40

Best Thai place in Hampton Roads. No question about it. Incredibly friendly staff, food comes out fast, hot and fresh. Get the Thai Iced Tea, you won’t regret it!

Diner Review №41

Fast service and excellent food. Food is well packaged for carry out. Their Curries are very good. If you are craving a spicy Thai curry this is the place to go.

Diner Review №42

The red curry tofu was off the chain! The flavor was phenomenal! We ordered take out but the service seemed real nice as briefly as we experienced it.

Diner Review №43

Diner Review №44

Stuffed like a mosquito on a warm summer day at a nudist park. Man that was the best thai food I had since my 2017 trip to Bangkok. I had the pad see wah and chicken egg rolls with hot spice level. Food was prompt and hot. When I say flavor was with every bite I took. There wasn't a bite where my taste buds were lonely. One waiter holding down the fort. He was quick on his feet. I went with the intentions to bring back a plate for lunch tomorrow..lol. 😋 didn't turn out so well. See pic. Before and after. I seriously wanted to lick the plate. DEFINITELY A MUST GO IF IN THE AREA OF NEWPORT NEWS..You want be disappointed.

Diner Review №45

Don't waste your time or money, food is horrible and I don't know how they have a 4.3 star rating. Worst asian restaurant I've ever eaten at. My coworker had two bites of his and that was it. I only ate the shrimp as the rest of the dish especially the noddles we're terrible. A waste of $41.00!!!!

Diner Review №46

Hands down the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had!

Diner Review №47

Great hole-in-the-wall, authentic Thai food, with properly spicy dishes and mild, sweet, and nutty ones. The best pad thai and iced tea I've ever had!

Diner Review №48

Diner Review №49

Very good food but even the mild can be a bit spicy. Typical Thai cuisine but prepared with care. Definitely will return.

Diner Review №50

Great authentic Thai cuisine. Their Hampton location is also fantastic! Tried almost every Thai around, these two stand out!

Diner Review №51

Little disappointed 😞 been coming here for years and now my food has not been the same in a while noodles soggy and not much meat may have to try somewhere else

Diner Review №52

Diner Review №53

Diner Review №54

Great food

Diner Review №55

Delicious and portion sizes are large!

Diner Review №56

Thai Papaya may look like a hole in the wall from the outside, but it’s a hidden gem. Best Thai restaurant on the Peninsula by far! Highly recommend!

Diner Review №57

Sukiyaki is the best! I love it!

Diner Review №58

Both the quality of food and service were above average; however, the level of spiciness was lacking. I like some heat with my thai and their level 4 doesn't cut do it for me.

Diner Review №59

The Thai Green Curry was so incredibly flavorful and among the best I've ever had. The curry sticks well to the rice and the heat was perfect. The portions were extremely generous and the vegetables were perfectly cut and (not massive chunks, but thinly julienned).

Diner Review №60

Very bland Chicken Pad Thai. Honestly just not good, probably the worst I’ve had in a restaurant. Better flavor in the freezer section Pad Thai at the grocery stores. The “minced” chicken is just ground chicken. Also not good. All for $13.56 for the lunch entree only!

Diner Review №61

Diner Review №62

They have a lot to choose from on their menu. Seasoning was great and they have duck as an available meat for any of their dishes. Service was friendly and portions for the price were large.

Diner Review №63

Customer service is terrible. I was there last Friday 5/21 .at 5p. All the staff in the bck talking. I have to get attention for them to Kno that Im a customer. N will like to have a service. Thai lady that allways at the front finally come out. After I was there bout 30 min. No customer in restaurant. Xceptone lady that dine In. But anyway she come out no smile on her face. Like I'm there to bother her or something..
No apoligize..or nothing..so I told her what I want to order n a drink..if overwhome for her to work there. She need a vacation. Young men.
That's there sometime. He's very respectful n speek Flurence English..n the best customer service...that lady need to go. Thanks for attention.

Diner Review №64

Diner Review №71

Diner Review №72

Great experience, good food and quality on service. Highly recommended. We eat dumplings, coconut soup, noodles and rice.

Diner Review №73

Impressed with the customer service and speed of service. Waitress I had very friendly and will to discuss menu options and make suggestions. Can learn also about Thailand. Food is very good for fast food.

Diner Review №74

This place is a local gem for Thai food. The Pad Thai here is phenomenal. Really quick service, and exceptional quality of food! We have ordered to go here several times, and dined in once. Have never had a bad experience. The service is great, food is great, and we will be coming back every single time the family is in the mood for Thai !

Diner Review №75

Yummm and they are so nice!

Diner Review №76

This Thai restaurant is small— a bit like a Chinese take out place— but far superior. The beef fried rice and chicken egg rolls were delicious. Price was reasonable, too. 👍

Diner Review №77

Diner Review №78

Great food great owner

Diner Review №79

Excellent friendly service and delicious flavors for a decent price!

Diner Review №80

Great food and awesome staff.

Diner Review №81

This place is FAWKING GOOD. You won't regret you came. Thai Red curry, drunken nooder, thai pad. delicious!!!

Diner Review №82

Diner Review №83

One of my absolute favorite restaurants, I always get the same thing and it never gets old - Pad Kua Teaw and a Thai iced tea. Service is always exceptional, main server is very kind and pleasant. Totally love this place and always will

Diner Review №84

Diner Review №85

A bit pricey but you get a good portion of authentic Thai cuisine. The thai iced tea is a must have on any visit to this unique experience.

THIS PLACE IS THE BEST, FIRST TIME EATING THAI FOOD AND IT WAS AMAZING! FRESHLY MADE TO ORDER!! I WILL BE BACK!! The entre posted is called DRUNKEN NOODLES WITH SHRIMP you can choose your own meat or none at all!!

Diner Review №94

Very good flavors, my first time trying Thai food. I was impressed! Large portion

Diner Review №95

Had my tomyum soup delivered, was better than expected.

Diner Review №96

Diner Review №97

Was nice the food and the lady who taking care to us. Very friendly and professional.

Diner Review №98

Diner Review №99

Diner Review №100

I went there last night, and the lady was super nice on the phone, even in person. I was shocked because since I moved from south Florida, I realized they don’t value customer service in this area. A welcoming environment and a smile goes a long way. We got the drunken noodles with pork and the green curry with Duck with white rice and chicken pad Thai. The food was beyond delicious and significant portions and all that food for less than forty dollars.

Diner Review №101

Diner Review №102

Diner Review №103

Ultimate hole in the wall, blink and you miss it, must go! Always fresh and delicious, they have the best noodles, yes better than any "fancy" places down the street. Great service, really listen and always get their heat right, I've had 1-3, too scared to go higher, but even at 3 it was still flavorful, not just hot. Especially during these crazy times, please support this local gem!

Diner Review №104

I love Thai Papaya. By far my favorite Thai restaurants in the area. The staff is wonderful and the food is fantastic. They definitely know how to make it spicy. Give them a try.

Diner Review №105

I ordered the Chicken Kapow. I saw it had little specks of something in it, but I couldn't taste any basil. It was not spicy, which is fine, I maybe should have explicitly ordered it so, but just generally it did not have much flavor. Towards the end of my meal I ate some of what tasted like jarred garlic. Maybe their other menu items are better, but based on my experience, I would not recommend.

Diner Review №106

This is hands down the best Thai on the peninsula. Its so delicious. Highly recommend.

Diner Review №107

Diner Review №108

Diner Review №109

Everything I've eaten here has been very delish.

Diner Review №110

Diner Review №111

Had lunch here and it was great. The food was served fast and the way we like it! The spice can come clear up your sinuses. Fantastic job!

Diner Review №112

Very nice staff. The place has a very good traditional vibe to it. The food is very good. The spice can throw you around.. so probably be mindful on letting them know how hot you want it.. Price can be high.. probably more than expected.

Diner Review №113

I have yet to be dissatisfied by any thing from here. And the Masaman Curry is my favorite.

Diner Review №114

Diner Review №115

Food is good, the prices are fair, good place to grab lunch.

Diner Review №116

Diner Review №117

Diner Review №118

Diner Review №119

Very good! Also had mango sticky rice!

Diner Review №120

This is the second time I have been disappointed with the lunch time orders. It was between 1:45 and 2:15 each visit. When I visit the area I order Shrimp Fried rice and Pad Kuea Teua to go. Please excuse the spelling... The meals were tasteless and missing meat. I will not be back. When we arrive back in NC, expecting a good meal from our favorite Thai Restaurant... so disappointing. Hopefully, the other location near the main LAFB gate is still good! This Chatham location is not doing a good job. $28.00 in the trash.

Diner Review №121

The staff was very polite and the food was delicious. The chicken pad Thai had a great peanut fishy sauce. It was spiced appropriately.

Diner Review №122

A small mom and pop type business with pretty tasty thai food. Was my first time there due to its ratings, so I didn’t know what to expect. No disappointments here! We had the combo appetizer plate which consisted of chicken, shrimp, and taro spring rolls and golden cream cheese [wonton]. Our meals were #10 Garlic (stir fry duck with fresh garlic, black pepper and cilantro in a sauce), and Drunken Noodles with duck. Everything was very good and tasted fresh made.

Diner Review №123

Diner Review №124

Diner Review №125

Food is always great

Diner Review №126

I ate there today and ordered an appetizer, shrimp blanket, and unfortunately, I had to send them back. This had never happened here before today and yes, I will eat there again

Diner Review №127

Diner Review №128

Food is ok. The restaurant has an unpleasant smell. Meat on the food is almost invisible. Pieces of chicken thin and not flavored but spicy as heck.

Diner Review №129

Diner Review №130

So frickin delicious oofffff Thai iced coffee with almond milk pineapple fried rice spicy with vegetable egg rolls only $19! I’m so full and I’ve barely dented my dinner plate

Diner Review №148

Good food

Diner Review №149

Fast courteous service and good food at a reasonable price.

Diner Review №150

Spicy and good

Diner Review №151

Diner Review №152

Best Thai place in the state of Virginia. I've explored many Thai places and this is the best.

Diner Review №153

Diner Review №154

Cold food and stuff was very rude.

Diner Review №155

Paddy the waitress most likely she is the sister of the owner was extremely arrogant and rude! The food was cold and waiter didn’t apologized and instead she snatched the food from the table. When I addressed this to her she said she knows what she was doing. Then She yelled at me when I said you are charging me double then give me the extra food. She said she threw away the food. So I asked why should I pay for that plate if you are not going to give me the plate. She yelled and said not to come to the Restuarant! She never apologized for anything of the wrongdoings. Very arrogant and she said she does not care if you complain to the owner.

Diner Review №156

Diner Review №157

Food is always good and great service. I'm about to take my daughter there for her birthday!

Diner Review №158

Love their food, unfortunately it depends who is in the kitchen on the amount of seasoning so consistency would be nice but would choose them over any chinese place! The employees there always very friendly!

Diner Review №159

Diner Review №160

Diner Review №161

Got a curry dish, was flavorful, but a little too salty. Wings were salty too. Good egg rolls. Prices reasonable. Small place in strip mall. Friendly server.

Diner Review №162

Diner Review №163

Nice family restaurant and awesome food! 10/10 would eat here again.

Diner Review №164

Some of the best Thai food in the area.

Diner Review №165

Always great service, authentic and reasonably priced!

Diner Review №166

Diner Review №167

This place is fantastic. Nice environment and delicious food. I had the drunken noodles, pad Thai and red curry

Diner Review №168

Great food and cuatomer service!

Diner Review №169

The best Thai food I've had in the Peninsula. Prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. The service is quick and the servers are friendly.

Had the Tofu Phad Thai, Thai hot, with extra peanuts. I'm not a fan of tofu usually but this was done just perfectly.

Only gripe is that they don't have free refills on anything but tea, and with the tea you only get 3 refills.

Diner Review №170

Unassuming little place but some of the most authentic-tasting Thai food I've had, stateside. And reasonable.

Diner Review №171

Diner Review №172

Not a fan..did not enjoy the food

Diner Review №173

Diner Review №174

The Thai tea is addictive & the soup & fried rice are the best of any Asian restaurants I've been too in Newport News so far!

Diner Review №175

Today I decided to try something different at my favorite Thai restaurant, Thai Papaya! I had the # 43 shrimp Lad na. My wife had the pad Thai.we also enjoyed a delicious glass of Thai iced tea. I'm glad I tried something different, it was quite delicious and I would have it again. Our waitress was very nice! Her name is Rin! If you decide to have thai for lunch or dinner, ask for Rin and enjoy a great meal!

Love quit a few dishes from them. Going to try a few more. The pepper steak take out could be bigger portions, the fried rice is perfect. Was them on Bizarre Food had to try.

Diner Review №181

Diner Review №182

👍👍👍👍

Diner Review №183

Diner Review №184

Their food is authentic here. Some other Thai places I’ve ordered from around here don’t compare, the chicken would taste chewy—here they cook everything just right. My two favorite dishes are the chicken pad Thai (mild) and the chicken fried rice.

Diner Review №185

Best Thai spot in 757

Diner Review №186

Diner Review №187

Fantastic food. Roast Duck curry is a must try. Healthy portions, leaving just enough room for dessert.

Diner Review №188

Great Thai food. Drunken noodles are excellent.

Diner Review №189

Great food. The service was very good as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Diner Review №190

We ordered delivery from this restaurant. The food was good, had good flavor and an appropriate spice level for what I asked. Not the best Thai food I've had, but definately above average. I will be ordering from here again in the future.

This location is not as good as the location in Hampton. The flavors are off and not as strong. My usual curry was watery. However, the chicken was cooked great. We wanted two Thai teas but were told they ran out, even though we went a a half hour after opening, but things happen I guess. Service was still good.
