Laid-back chain serving familiar Thai dishes from mild to spicy, with gluten-free & vegan options.
Came here for dinner with a friend and really enjoyed our meal. We came the last day of Houston Restaurant Weeks so we enjoyed their dinner special. I ordered the wings, vegetable soup, green curry with shrimp and egg custard with sticky rice. Now the portions were normal size so I could not finish all the food there but everything ordered was so delicious. The wings were perfectly fried and their spicy, sticky garlic wing sauce was incredible! The vegetable soup had a great savory but light flavor. The green curry I asked for in the hottest level of spicy and I would say it would be a level 3 based on other Thai restaurants, but the flavor was good and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. I hasn't had Thai custard before and it was a surprisingly sweet end to a delicious meal. Our server was very nice and check in on us throughout the meal but I will say service went from really slow to the food coming out almost back to back.
Excellent service! Molly was a amazing server , she was very knowledgeable and made our dinner date amazing with her suggestions. Dinner was great, the food was amazing! I'm very happy we selected thai cottage for a celebratory dinner I was very happy with the price's and selection. I'm looking forward to our next visit.
Thai Cottage truly exceeded my expectations! I visited at noon and was pleased to find plenty of parking available. The restaurant was clean and well-organized. I was greeted at the door and seated immediately with a menu. The food arrived promptly, and the service was excellent. Every dish was tasty and met my expectations for authentic Thai cuisine. I was also impressed by the easy access for wheelchairs. I highly recommend trying anything with curry – it’s simply delicious!
This place is one of the best Thai restaurants around woodlands. We had lot of dishes and we liked everything. Every dish was so flavourful that it remains in your pallet for long. They have limited soups of which tom kha and tom yum were intense and filling. Entree soft veg rolls with the sauce was very tasteful. Main dishes like Pad Thai is unmissable. Egg fried rice was little hard, but with some side curry it’s good. We also ordered fish fillet with curry and rice. The fried fish were ok, but the mushroom dip with it was pungent and tasteful! Finally the deserts - the best ending with fried banana and coconut ice cream. Was unique and best experience. Definitely will visit again. Kids loved it and environment is very soothing.
I came here a couple weeks ago during my lunch hour and the service was so fast! I ordered the vegetarian pad thai they have spice heat levels 1-5 and I got the 3 and it was really spicy, which is good lol. The total for all I ordered came out to such a good price I couldn’t believe it. Def gonna come again.
I called in my order for green curry and she asked me what spice level I wanted, 1-5. Of course me, not fearing anything spicy, I went for the 5! Soup of the day or salad? I chose soup, which happened to be egg drop soup. And it came with a tiny spring roll which was nice n crispy on the outside and really hot and tasty on the inside. This was my first time having green curry that I didn't make for myself at home from a recipe on the internet. I have to say, I really liked it. The flavor and texture was different from what I have made and gives me a nice comparison to recreate at home. The spice level was not quite as hot as I expected but it was still satisfying and the flavor of the coconut was amazing. The egg drop soup was also very good. Much thicker than any I've had before which was unexpected but very nice. Menu photos and prices were outdated so I'm posting their current menu as well.
Ona is an excellent server!
love the food!! and loveee ona she’s the best!!! really good customer service
Great food and service. Ona is fantastic!
Ona is an amazing server. She always serves with a smile and knows us and our regular orders on sight.
Ona was an amazing server. I’ve visited the restaurant more than once and the food is always great but today the service was great! Ona is very attentive and friendly. Will be coming back soon if she’s my server again
Food is very good and always consistent. Our server Patrick is very attentive and always makes good recommendations. Very well run restaurant.
Good parking location, food is Thai traditionally prepared and ingredients authentic and fresh. Great dining for family and special occassions.
Thai Cottage is the best restaurant in all of Houston. If I was captured by enemy forces and the only chance I had of saving my life was to appease my captors with a dish, I would order a Chicken Panaang Curry, Thom Ka Chicken, and an order eternal glory; the Wings of Paradise. 15+ Year customer of this location and may god bless them for at least 15 more.
Great tasting soup!
Excellent service! Molly was a amazing server , she was very knowledgeable and made our dinner date amazing with her suggestions. Dinner was great, the food was amazing! Avoid This Thai Restaurant at All Costs
This restaurant is an absolute disgrace. We arrived at 7pm on a Friday, and seeing more employees than customers should have made us turn around immediately.
Food:
Tom Yum Soup: Disgustingly lemony with massive, inedible chunks of lemongrass. Whoever decided this was a good idea clearly shouldn't be making decisions in a kitchen.
Chicken Crispy Rolls: Mediocre at best, providing a fleeting moment of false hope.
Chili Basil: This dish tasted like a revolting combination of bad pizza and a salt lick. The overpowering basil and extreme saltiness made it inedible, and the chicken had a bizarre, unpleasant aftertaste.
Peanut Rama: An unmitigated disaster. The peanut sauce was a sickeningly sweet mix of Jif and sugar, utterly inedible.
Experience and Service:
An almost empty restaurant on a Friday night should have been a giant red flag.
The waiter brought us the wrong soup (Tom Kha instead of Tom Yum) and then argued that it was correct until finally admitting the mistake. The corrected soup was equally horrible.
The service was atrocious. We had to flag down the waiter for drink refills, which were incorrect when they finally arrived. The staff seemed more interested in wandering around aimlessly than taking care of customers.
Overall, the experience was abysmal—terrible food, horrendous service, and a complete waste of time and money.
In conclusion, this is the worst dining experience I've ever had. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place like the plague.
Delicious food! We chose to order online & pickup our food to go. Food was hot & delicious as always.
Good food . Has kids menu
The food was really authentic and delicious. I loved it! Also, the staff are really friendly and so polite. I also love how the design of the restaurant was, really aesthetic and cultural. Would definitely come back again!
Fantastic meal all around! Everything we had was absolutely delicious
Delicious food. We never have to wait to be seated. Service is fast. We have never been disappointed!
Beautiful place to have lunch or dinner, the food is on point, absolutely love the fried rice !!!!
My favorite Thai restaurant to visit for dining in or take-out. Has the best Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice.
If you're into pad thai, this place seems to hit the spot.

Choose your spice level. Delicious food. I love their sweet tea!
Great food and staff
Their Phad Thai and Panang curry are always a winner. Service was great too.
This place is amazing! The service was fantastic and the food… delicious. Every bite from the first to the last was flavor packed adventure. I will definitely come back and invite any to join me.
Longtime customer here, I used to regard this as one of the best restaurants in the Woodlands and it was a go to for me and my family however something changed during Covid and the recipes for some of their dishes changed and not in a good way. Red and yellow curry are lacking in flavor compared to how they used to be and their pad thai used to be amazing but now it’s very heavy sauce forward and It doesn’t taste as good. Also the chicken in their dishes used to always be but now it sometimes rubbery/overcooked. This place is very nostalgic to me so I will occasionally eat here but it’s definitely not what it used to be.
Excellent!!

One of the best green curry with shrimp in town!!! I also recommend the crab fried rice, a little heavier than the curry. Highly recommend this cute place.

Mali is a friendly wonderful server! We felt instantly welcomed by her warmth and knowledge. The food was delicious! The wings of paradise were recommended and I doubt I've ever had anything so delicious in my life. The yellow curry is exactly perfect! Definitely stop in and take advantage of this gem. This will be my go to comfort food restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxing and lovely.
Good food, clean restaurant. Fast service
Good food. I always have Spicy Basil. Come every week.
Ona was rude and hard to talk too. I've only been here one other time and it's been a while. I feel like in her response we're like "DUH" or like I should know their menu.
Always delivers! Great food and will always come back. Very reliable and every bite is tasty. The pad Thai is my favorite
This is my second time eating at Thai Cottage. I would have come back sooner if I wasn’t out of the country for a year. This is one of the Thai places I put on my list to make sure to come back to as soon as I got home.
My absolute favorite dish is the yellow chicken curry with chicken. I get the spicy level three. The curry tastes very fresh and like they truly take their time. One of the best authentic Thai restaurants in the Houston area in my opinion!
Better than usual. Service was super. The food excellent.
One of our favorite restaurants in The Woodlands. Their Tom Kha Soup is a must eat at every visit!
Another family favorite is the Sa-Te Chicken. (We always order double cucumber sauce with it.)
Not only is the food delicious but the service is always excellent.
We had The BEST THAI food in town!!! It was our first time coming and definitely coming back because the food was great and our server waitress ONA!!!’ She is welcoming, attentive, happy, friendly, helpful . We need more servers like Ona in town!
Excellent food with tremendous flavor. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely a new go to.
Best Thai food in the Woodlands!
Wonderful dinner with great service after rocking the woodland's half marathon
Absolutely incredible
I ordered through Uber Eats, so I can't speak on the service dining in, but the food is insanely good. If you're looking for authentic Thai classics with the proper ingredients, it's here. My only complaint would be that the chicken is a little dry, but the execution of everything else made up for it. I'm pretty sure they even use fresh (not dried) rice noodle. It even arrived hot and fresh!
Really tasty and a five is a five here!
Everything was phenomenal! Food was amazing, service top notch, they were on top of it and never had to ask for anything. Quick service and amazing food!
Excellent food, service, and prices. One of the best chicken pad thai’s I’ve had.
Try the fish. Mango salad, rice pie for dessert. A treat.
We have loved this place for years. Great food and great service. We love the pad see ew but anything from the lunch menu is good too.
Best duck curry ive ever had
Probably best curry period
Great customer service.
Chicken curry was delicious the coconut flavor was in it was amazing.
Will come back again for sure.
Not at all authentic Thai food taste. Not recommended at all
Good food. Nice people and decent service. A nice quite spot to eat
This was my first time I enjoyed the food I wish their liquor wasn't expired
I lived previously in a city that had more Thai restaurants per capita than fast food restaurants. I love fresh Thai food, but dont live close to an establishment. I was visiting the area and came across this Thai restaurant. It was late, and about an hour before they closed. I ordered the roasted duck curry, which I’ve never had before. I’ve had Thai curry quite a bit and favor the red curry, but probably will skip the duck next time. The curry flavor was tasty though. I also got my usual go to Thai iced tea. It was good, but they are not fresh made. Just a prepackaged bottle, which I would love to source for home consumption though lol. Anyway, they were quick and the food was fresh. A little pricey, but it is The Woodlands.
Chicken fried rice is good just very pricey.

One of my favorite places to eat.
Came here for the first time last night. The service was good & quick. It wasn't busy at all for a Saturday night. It was very cold in the restaurant and of course I had shorts on because it was 90° out.
I felt like nothing on the menu was appealing, but I'm also not familiar with Thai food.
I ended up getting the Pineapple Fried rice, which was a little spicy for "2" but it WAS ONLY between 1-5 for how spicy you want it so I do understand. The food was very good though and it was a lot too. The app we got was the cheese rolls; $6.50 for 3. I honestly didn't think it was worth it but my friend took me here for the first time and I've never had those before, ended up being good.
Would I come back again? Maybe only for the fried rice.
Best Thai food place. Always consistently good
Consistenly very good eats!
Always good food and service. I just wish the prices were a bit more affordable
It is a very small establishment, but the food is out of this world. I am skeptical of trying new places, but everything about this place makes me want to go back and eat their amazing food.
Staff great food is good atmosphere is fine.
Awesome place ,
Great Thai restaurant in the woodlands
One of the best Thai restaurants in the Woodlands!
I always feel the food is a lot better at dinner than lunch. I love the three taste fish and the taste of ginger. This is a very pretty restaurant, with excellent attentive service
Finally I have found good Thai food in The Woodlands!!!! I will definitely be back.
Ordered the Chicken Teriyaki, the chicken was was tasteless hard and dry hard and dry, like it was made with leftover chicken. The service was bad and the waitress was rude. Won’t be back.
My friend and I met there for lunch.
We both ordered vegetarian Pad Thai, no onion, no garlic, and no fish sauce.
She also ordered veggie fry-rice for her kid with the same restrictions.
The pad Thai came looking ok (not the best looking pad Thai I ever had, I would say).
However, it looked darker than normal pad Thai that I had before, and it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SALTY like the cook knocked the salt bottle into the dish.
My friend said hers was the same.
I only ate a few bites due to the saltiness.
Took the rest home but throw it out afterwards due to the saltiness.
On top of that, her kid’s fry rice’s flavor had extra smell that she ordered not to have (maybe from garlic or fish sauce?, we are not sure.).
The worst, it also had A STRAND OF HAIR in the fry rice.
Too bad she and I didn’t take the picture of the fry rice with the hair.
It was so discussing.
Conclude the reasons above, I will NEVER go back. 👎
A bit overpriced too.
I couldn't believe, we were about to go in and eat at this restaurant. We were just walking in, when I read a review of ants or something.
As soon as we sat down, I finish reading the review.
I started to look around at our table. Lo and behold there were some kind of baby bugs. like roaches or something.
They weren't anywhere around the pepper shaker or salt shaker. they were underneath the little sugar holder that was black.
When we moved it out of the way, a bunch of these little bugs started swarming everywhere and they disappeared underneath the table.
As soon as we put the black holder back, they came back and hide underneath it real close to us.
Two of my friends freaked out.
I looked underneath the table with my cell phone flashlight. I saw hundreds of them, underneath hiding in the corner cubby holes. They're just small as ants, but they act like roaches. They know to run and hide when exposed and then come back. Yes we decided to leave as well.
As we were walking to our vehicle we saw the plates sitting outside by the back door, as we read in the review. We decided to take a picture as well.
It's as if someone left the back door open, and put the food out for the ants, mice, rats or animals to come and eat it.
there were two rat bait boxes on each side of the back door. They should keep the door closed instead of keeping it open with a mop stick.
Those little weird roach like insects, inside the restaurant, seem like they will go on to your clothing and hitchhike back to your house.
There like small ants, but they act like roaches.
Thousands of them under the table.
I'm just glad we had water and one cup of coffee then split.
Don't eat there unless you want to take some hitchhikers home with you.
Good luck
There were some kind of insects on the table, under the salt and pepper. We shewed them away, but they just crawled to underside of the table. We decided not to eat there. We reported it to someone who appeared a manager on the way out. He said he would take care of it, but we saw the server laughing at us through the window as she picked up our menus from the table. Then there was an open plate of food swarming with ants in the parking lot (see photo).
Food is great
Pretty good. Just a little bit spicier than other Thai restaurants. But good menu with good variety. The dishes have pretty good sizes. I believe one dish is enough for 02 people.
We will be back. The waitress was very nice.
Worst pad Thai I have ever gotten. Spring rolls were almost burnt and conveniently came with one less. Could not eat pad Thai, chicken tasted rotten and it was swimming in what appeared to be old reheated oil. Absolutely disgusting. Literally tossed it into the trash. Quit sending orders out for door dash that you wouldn’t dare serve inside your restaurant. If you want AMAZING Thai food, go to Nara Thai in Atascocita on West Lake Houston parkway. Best pad Thai you’ll ever have. Red curry is delicious there too.
Very delicious food. Kind of pricey, but you can feed two people with their serving sizes, which it makes up for the price.
Quick service and consistently delicious food. Highly recommend their lunch specials. Their spicy levels (1-10) seem to be spicier than other restaurants so if sensitive order 1 or 2 levels lower than usual.
great food, staff and place
Went with a group and had a great time! The Thai tea was creamy and not too sweet, the Tom Kha soup was absolutely incredible (the best I've ever had), the Friday soup of the day was beef soup and the beef was fatty and jiggly with lots of flavor, and the yellow curry was very flavorful with a generous amount of meat. Service was very fast, and food came out quickly. My friends who got spicy things did say the spice wasn't super spicy, but the flavor was absolutely amazing and all the ingredients were fresh and good quality. Will definitely go back!!
Consistently good food!
Everything was so good! Service & food. Can’t wait to be back!!
Great food and service.
Good enough food but nothing outstanding. Perfect if you just want quick and easy Thai is a casual place.
I work closeby and eat here 2-3 times a week! The food is amazing and terrific quality, the luncheon specials are my favorite . I am obsessed with the yellow curry, oriental garden soup, and vegetarian softrolls. The curry puffs are also so good! This place has been one of my most frequent pregnancy cravings!
Wonderful meal
Got the lunch Beef Chili Paste was so delicious. Fast service, will be back!
Scrumptious chicken and fried rice!!! Lots of peanuts in the menu so watch out if you have a peanut allergy.
Oh my goodness. SO GOOD. Hidden gem in The Woodlands off 242 behind Panera and Taco Bell. Had lunch today always consistently good! The service is always fast and efficient. The food can be ordered on a spice level of 1-5. I’m no spice Wus however, a 2.5 has some pretty good 🔥 heat so unless you love Uber hotness, don’t get a 5! Pad Thai. Red curry with chicken. Hot and sour soup.
The food and service both were quite good. The food was fresh and the taste was quite authentic. Definitely will go there again.
Great food. Nice, efficient service.
In general it isn't bad, food is good but everything I tried was way too sweet.
After several minutes, a guy asked how many and then turned to go into the kitchen. Several minutes later, still at the front door waiting to be seated, we left.
Wings are the best I've ever had. Everything else I've tried has been top notch including the pad thai, fried rice, and curries.
♿ I have been coming here for about 6 years. I always love the food and get great service. I just became physically disabled this past year. This was my first time visiting as a disabled person and I had a great experience. The staff was very accommodating. As soon as they noticed my arm crutches they asked what seating area would be the easiest for me. When I went over to use the restroom and the staff rushed over to hold the door open for me. They were very thoughtful and accommodating. Wish I could leave more than 5 stars. 🤗
Yes, that's your answer to "Do I want Thai tonight?". Every component of the meal had it's own individual flavor, not just borrowing from the sauce of protein. I usually order from here via #ubereats but today I decided to visit in person, worth it. Nice little venue, polite staff, and an easy atmosphere, a good date night.....now I just need a Date lol
This is the go-to place for Thai food in The Woodlands. You can’t get better Thai unless you go outside of town. Try any of their grill specials. My favorites all around are the three taste fish filet, pork pad kee mao, Tom yum soup with shrimp or chicken, and tiger cry.
This place doesn’t disappoint. They are amazing.
Decent food, good service. Ambience could use some work. Still a quiet little place for a quick bite.
My wife wanted Thai and this was the 1st restaurant that came to mind. We always have great food and excellent service. Highly recommend.
Not as good as expected.
Worst Thai food I have ever tasted. There wasn't a single thing I ate that tasted good, from the soup, eggroll to the main dish. I ordered the red curry chicken and the chicken tasted unseasoned. The rice didnt stick together. I have been eating thai food for 20 years and I would never recommend eating here! Save yourself from the disappointment by avoiding this place.
The Pad thai here was terrible. Real dark bunt color. It was oily and tasted flavorless.
The only flavor I could only taste was the lime and peanuts. I don't recommend!!
Used to come here a lot with the family for special occasions and it holds so many memories. That being said, the change in hours is something I understand but a shame. The prices of their dishes and drinks have also went up a lot.
The kitchen will work with you on whatever spice level you want which is great.
The rice is always fluffy, the duck curry is my favorite as it’s one of the few places you can get it.
Princess of Siam - Delicious.
Cheese rolls - Wish they were bigger cause they’re drool worthy.
Pad Thai - Always a great choice with the rice noodles and peanuts.
Tiger Cry - The lime sauce is addicting it’s so good.
Thai tea - Hard to go wrong with it but disappointed in how expensive it’s become because you can get Thai teas at boba shops for the price with more bang for your buck and extras added.
Best thai food in the area! Can’t go wrong.
Highly recommended and am always going back.
If you are looking for full flavor Thai food, you can’t beat this placeZ we’ve been going here for years and you can’t beat the consistency. The only challenge is the variation in chilli levels, if you ask for a 3 you might get a 4, but never a 2, especially when it comes to the curries, and you must try the curries, our favourite is the green curry, here is my menu suggestions; Shrimp Pad Thai, Chicken Green Curry and the must Three Taste Fish Fillet!
Excellent food. Really really good service.
The thai wings are amazing and Duck Curry was so delicious. The chicken pad thai is so good morning. And the service is always great
Deliciosa la comida. Lo recomiendo ampliamente, probar algo diferente y de muy buen sabor.
Delicious Thai served by friendly people at very fair price.
Great food
Food was incredible. Came here during COVID lock down and it wasn’t very good. Food was served in a cardboard bowl and it was flavorless. This time, on normal plates and incredible flavor!! Definitely a 180. Staff was very friendly this time too.
Thai Cottage has delicious curry dishes and childrens food options. We really liked the Panang Curry with chicken and the Pineapple green curry plate with soy. The kids loved the kids noodle plate and the chicken nuggets. We highly recommend this family friendly authentic Thai restaurant and we will be back to try new dishes soon!
Tasty authentic Thai food.
Never disappointed. Best Pad Thai this side of Houston.
I've been coming to this location for years and years and I love the food here. It's also consient and never a bad experience. The food here is more Thai-American style but it's still great for quality, service and price point.
The Pad Kee Mao was on point. Vegetables were cooked perfectly. Just the right amount of crunch and flavor. Spice levels seem to be very conservative. I’m a spice maniac who always cranks it up to the max. I got level 4 out of 5 and it didn’t phase me. The Sticky Rice with Mango was amazing. You’ve got to get it if it’s in season.
Pad Thai GF LOVE IT
It's okay. Service was good. Food was alright.
I have been there for Pad Thai and chicken basil many times and they were so delicious but today I had Pad Thai and the taste and noodles are not the same. It is bad taste, noodle is not good quality like before and also the add broccoli and carrot into Pad Thai. I assume they change the chef because if Thai people cook they will know Pad Thai will not add broccoli.
I hope Thai Cottage will make it better and come back to my favorite restaurant again in the future
Always a pleasure to eat there. Great service and the food taste so good.
Don't miss the Curry Puffs! This has the best service. Food delivered quickly, staff is c attentive but not intrusive, and the food is excellent. The few times I've gone, I was seated right away.
The food is always so fresh and the servings are massive. I love this place for Thai food!
Went for dinner. Service was great, but the curry was just okay.
