Let our experienced cooks and welcoming staff invite you on a culinary journey based on traditional Thai cuisine - with delightful modern/fusion twists - served in a relaxed family-friendly environment
Our first visit and it was exceptional. Ambiance was pleasing and tranquil. We ate in. The service was excellent, very attentive for the entire meal. Chef came to our table to make sure we were satisfied with our dinners which were delicious and well proportioned. A great value for the cost as well. We will be returning.
The presentation of each dish was beautiful, and the portion sizes were generous without being overwhelming.Menu prices is good. The service was excellent too — the staff was friendly, attentive. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed lunch & dining experience.
Overall, a fantastic spot for Thai food lovers. Will definitely be coming back!”
Terrific neighborhood Thai restaurant. Very good food, solid service, decent space.
Highly recommend trying the specials as well as the main menu.
Photos of Heavenly Pork, Brussel Sprouts special, and red curry. All great choices. More than enough food for two people. Looking forward to leftovers.
Highly recommend for family and friends dining.
During our recent visit to this Thai restaurant, we found the overall dining experience quite satisfying. The restaurant's interior was tastefully decorated with a garden theme, featuring fresh flowers on each table, walls adorned with artificial grasses and flowers, dry flowers, artificial birds, and various design objects. The modern and trendy lanterns and birdhouses added a nice touch to the ambiance.
The food at the restaurant was flavorful without using too much sauces. We particularly enjoyed the Kha Nom Jeeb, which had a densely packed filling inside the dumpling, and the flavor was not overpowering. The clear broth-based light soup Thai wonton soup was a good choice for the gloomy weather. From the Highly Recommended menu, the Talay Obb Mor Din, featuring seafood and ginger, and the Guay Tiew Kua-Kai, similar to Pad See Ew but without the smoky taste, were both delicious. Although the dishes were delightful, we did notice a presence of MSG in the food, prompting frequent water consumption.
We found the service satisfactory, and we appreciated the provision of a hot sauce tray to enhance the flavor of our dishes.
We love eating here - my favorite is the cream cheese wontons and my husband likes the Pad KraPow. Lots of vegetarian options (though the curry is all made with fish sauce, at least they warn you up front). Cocktails are around $10 and they have some yummy non alcoholic drinks too.
We’ve been twice and get so excited to try new things on the menu!! We’ve lived all over the world and it’s hard to find exciting Asian cuisine in the suburbs, but this place is amazing! Fun & Fresh atmosphere, traditional and some trendy Thai dishes. Service is great too! The Duck Krapow and all Curries rock!
Food is consistently good, fresh, and served up beautifully. Friendly staff and modern style to the restaurant
I am full Thai who live onboard and love eating Thai food the most. This restaurant is one of the best Thai restaurants that test like real street foods. One of the best Thai restaurants in DMV!!!
Absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back!
This place is solid when it comes to Thai food. Everything we’ve had has been really good, from Curry to Duck to WonTons to Ka Prow. It’s all good.
Really great Thai food and the service was great.
Excellent yellow curry and pumpkin curry dinners. Dessert just arrived and looks amazing!
I really enjoy Amthai everytime I’ve been here. The prices are fair and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Usually never a wait to be seated which is a plus!
Just had a family dinner there for our Son's birthday. The food, service and atmosphere was just outstanding! Staff were attentive, kind, respectful and downright sweet! Food was just about the best Thai food we've ever had. Even the music was great!
If you haven't been there, make the time to make the trip! Our first trip there but not our last!
Best Pad See Ew in a log time! Try the Brussels sprouts with peanut sauce.
We’ve dined in and had takeout from this restaurant a number of times and really love it. Food is good and fresh, and the interior is really cute and clean. The chive dumplings, pad ginger, pad see ew, and yellow curry have been some of our favorites dishes. Especially the pad ginger - SO good, and love the wood ear mushrooms. They also have some fun and tasty cocktails for a reasonable price.
The duck curry was amazing. Everything was delicious.
Food is really well done. Service is above average and again the food is amazing
Delicious and the best Thai food around Burke. The server was attentive and courteous. Definitely will be back.
Love this little place. Exceptional food at a reasonable price point. Always fresh and delicious. My husband and I and our 3 year old love it!
Stellar service. Great drinks. The pad thai was OUTSTANDING - perfect mixture of spicy and sweet. My husband got the drunken noodle with tofu and they asked him if he wanted it steamed or fried. I've had Thai food countless times and no one has ever asked that so I was impressed off the bat. Can't recommend this place enough!!!!!
Great restaurant and glad I finally had a chance to try it. We had a curry bowl and pad Thai and both were excellent. Service was equally great.
Most of the food here is good but we don't like their Pad Thai. We have tried ordering it twice now and both times it tastes like the only ingredient in it is fish sauce. I've never had a Pad Thai I didn't like until trying theirs. Everything else we've tried is tasty and it's usually our go to Thai spot (unless we're craving Pad Thai lol).
Got takeout from here for the first time and I'm so glad we did, the food was incredible. Best springrolls, crispy pork special, tasty but spicy green curry (asked for medium, noted need to ask for mild next time lol) and yummy donuts to finish. The quality is excellent and the price reflects. We'll definitely order again and next time will eat in, it's a very pretty and clean restaurant.
Today was my first visit. We were in Fairfax and my daughter reccomended Thai. She chose another place but I quickly changed her mind to this wonderful spot. The food was great and the service outstanding! We purchased the Drunken Noodle chicken, Pad Sew We, and curry puffs. All Of the items were very delicious. I just wish that I had more chicken in my dish. We will return because they are the very best in Thai that I've tried!
Beautifully decorated interior. Service was wonderful and extremely respectful. We never had Thai before but this place had extremely well put together plates. Presentation was beautiful, and the ingredients were so fresh. Highly recommend!
Great food full of flavor, fast service, and clean all around.
Great vibe, funny staff, excellent food. Brought my friend a dessert for his birthday. Surprised him with a cake and went above and beyond, dimming the lights for the candles.
We love AmThai! Wonderful staff and delicious food!
The staff and the food are 10/10. The ambiance of the restaurant is also 10/10.
I love this place so much that I’m scared everyone will discover it 😂 great food, CUTE atmosphere, fair prices, and lovely people. Even the other diners seem to know it’s a hidden gem.
I think this place is amazing. Food is delicious, service is great. The place is delightfully decorated and the prices are great for what you get!
Great food, surprising little place for Burke!
Great food!
We love eating here - my favorite is the cream cheese wontons and my husband likes the Pad KraPow. Lots of vegetarian options (though the curry is all made with fish sauce, at least they warn you up front). Cocktails are around $10 and they have some yummy non alcoholic drinks too.
Very great service and super cute ambiance. Papaya salad is so good and so is the chicken drunken noodle.
This is the one. The food & service are 10/10. Will be our go-to Thai spot from now on.
Mint is one of our favorite servers - friendly, helpful, and always smiling. Food is always delicious and we particularly like the Mai Tais.
Very nice, welcoming and clean place. Both my friend and I enjoyed our food ( pad Thai and drunken noodles). I cannot wait to go back to try other dishes on their menu. This is going to be my new favorite restaurant !!
Our favorite Thai place! The waitress is so kind and attentive and the food is super good!
The presentation of each dish was beautiful, and the portion sizes were generous without being overwhelming.Menu prices is good. The service was excellent too — the staff was friendly, attentive. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed lunch & dining experience.

Delicious, service is quick and friendly.
Great food and atmosphere, staff are very friendly and attentive.
Food and service was amazing. Prices reasonable. Our new favorite Thai restaurant.
This is probably the best food in Burke. Definitely a hidden gem. Everything we’ve had has been good. Support local businesses!
Am Thai is our go to lunch date place during the week. Dishes are always super fresh, service is professional & courteous. Especially love the papaya salad and soups.
Best Thai place in Burke in my opinion. The restaurant is clean, modern, and the service is great! My persona favorites are the Thai fried rice and the crispy duck krapow, and the pork belly with Chinese broccoli.
The best Thai restaurant in Burke area! I highly recommended

The food was amazing especially the curry, I ordered red curry and it was delicious. The price is also reasonable. I cannot wait to try it again and order something different
I went there with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. We got Tom Yum Noodles Soup and Thai Fried Rice. The portion of food was good and the service was amazing. They even customized the sweetness level of my Thai Iced Tea which most Thai restaurants can’t do. I also recommended their Thai Donuts! Will definitely go back!
My “go to” for Thai food. Great taste and terrific service.
The food was great! I shared the chicken pad Thai, beef fried rice, and pork drunken noodle. They all came out in about 5 minutes and the flavor and texture were all very good. I’ll definitely be coming back here!
5 stars, amazing, rich flavor, beautiful atmosphere, great service.
I’m leaving this review for my mom who thinks they have the best most flavorful cashew chicken in the area and I have to agree. We’ve been back a few times since and also love the pad see ew, chicken satay and Thai tea. They are fast, have phenomenal customer service, and the restaurant is super clean. We hope to be able to stop through and actually sit down in the future! Also they are closed on Monday, we didn’t know and practically cried over it. Please never leave and thank you for the delicious food!!!
The service was amazing!!!! Everything was so clean and beautiful inside! The food was very good too! Highly recommend!
Friendly, calm atmosphere. My favorite is crabmeat fried rice. My husband loves the curry dishes. We've dined in and do takeout as well. Haven't had anything I don't love!
We’ve been twice and get so excited to try new things on the menu!! We’ve lived all over the world and it’s hard to find exciting Asian cuisine in the suburbs, but this place is amazing! I love Thai food and this place is excellent!
Only git take out for 9 of my family members. We all loved it! Was still hot n fresh. Would definitely go back n dine in. Highly recommend.
BEST FOOD EVER!
I’ve been looking for a place with authentic Thai food and this is it! And when you ask for spicy, it’s spicy :)
Best Thai food I have had in the area. I personally love their Penang Curry and Duck Red Curry, but found their noodles to also be fantastic.
Bright, pleasant atmosphere and tasty food made this a great night out.
Ordered out, food was on time and hit when I got it home. Definitely give it a try. I will be going back.
Loved everything we ordered !
Really happy with everything I've had. Appetizers, soups, curries, entrees, fish. It's all good!
The food was very tasty.
Wonderful little place. The decor is cheerful and attractive, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is excellent.
I asked for them to remake an order because I ordered while they were closed and but they made it anyway and we're waiting for me and I just didn't pick it up when I saw the closed sign. It was completely my mistake, not theirs. Not only did they offer to make it right multiple times, even though there was nothing to make right since it was my fault, but they insisted on giving me a free Thai tea anyway.
They recognize me every time I come in. I always feel so welcome here. My coworker and I frequently get lunch here. Tofu is prepared really well and they actually have some of the only Thai tea in the area that has the right balance of milkiness.
Good food and great service.
This is one of the best restaurants in all of Burke, hands-down. Fantastic everything - I could go on and on but you're better off going there yourself and drinking Thai Tea until you can't move, like I do.
Amazing to have such an authentic Thai restaurant so close. The site is not very large, but comfortable and clean. We actually order delivery quite often as well, and have tried over 2/3 of the menu. Everything is well-prepared and well beyond the quality of the typical restaurants with a similar menu. I can’t get over how good the drunken noodles are, and the curry flavors are fantastic. The curry puff and chive dumplings (look like fried green squares) are also surprisingly good.
Just picked up late lunch to go by name Justin, and missing rice.... I was gonna swing by since it's pretty close. So I called but they don't answer the phone since it's past 3pm. The menu clearly says the main dish is served with white rice. The food is good, but it'd been better if it had rice. Also the portion is quite smaller than other places. So I took another star out. Now I have to cook rice which beats all the purpose to pick up food. It's such a shame, because we even tipped for this pick up just to find out it's missing an item... disappointed.
I go here a few times a month. Great service, friendly, tasty yummy food, clean and the vibe/atmosphere is great- simple, bright and welcoming.
It was good food and happy server and good times!
Restaurant is very clean and well organized. The soup was spicy but it was perfect for the cold weather. The Pad Thai was excellent with fresh bean sprouts. The vegetable dish with tofu was pretty as well as delicious.
I'm a longtime fan of this restaurant, even before it moved. I dare say it's the tastiest Thai restaurant in both DC and Virginia. I recently visited a Michelin Thai restaurant in downtown DC and felt that the taste had changed considerably, whether it was the recipe or the chef change. This restaurant has not changed in detail for five or six years, and I think this is a decoration factor for a good restaurant. My personal bests are drunken noodle and basile fried rice.
First visit. Great food, friendly service, nicely decorated and clean. Reasonably priced for 5 people. Will be back!
Hands down the best Thai food in the area. The Pad Thai is perfect. The service is so good and consistent. When I order delivery, the food arrives within 15 minutes every time (we live about 10 minutes away). They follow my instructions when I ask them not to knock. Food always arrives hot and delicious. It's all well priced also. I always look forward to Thai food nights now.
Food was too oily and salty. I was craving water all day after eating here. The food tasted good. The service was also good, although we were the only ones there. The Thai tea flan dessert was delicious. The decor is beautiful.
I think the price is high for a weekday lunch (which seems to be the same price as dinner), compared to the competition here. I think the prices are good for dinner or the weekend, but for a weekday lunch, I would choose somewhere else to eat.
We were hoping to love this place, since it's close to us, and we frequently eat out for lunch on weekdays. However, we won't be back because the food was too oily and salty. But, keep in mind, the food doesn't taste salty. Kind of like when you eat instant noodles that are loaded with sodium that you cannot taste because it's covered by other ingredients.
I also agree with another review about the food tasting like Chinese food. The flavors and spices do remind me more of Chinese food than what I would expect from Thai food.
My first time and I was impressed with the quality of food and top notch service. I had stir fried eggplant and OMG so delicious! Will definitely go back!
Thai Basil was delish! Generous serving. Excellent won ton soup. Went back for second visit but closed on Monday! Sad!
There was just one woman working up front, but she gave such wonderful attention and suggestions. She she might have been the owner. The menu had all the standard Thai dishes plus more, including a variety of Thai coffees and teas. It all tasted very fresh and seemed thoughtfully prepared. Beautiful dishware and dining room as well!
The peanut dipping sauce for the spring rolls was excellent. And she brought a spice tray out with the entrees with different forms of spice so that we could adjust our own spiciness. At dessert, I was unable to eat the donuts, but they looked and smelled amazing.
Price-wise: surprisingly inexpensive for the quality and the environment. Definitely a great value.
So i gave it 3 stars because the dish i ordered didn't taste like Thai food, but like Chinese food with a few basil leaves thrown in. Also the price was way too much for what I got.
Great food, friendly crew and nice atmosphere
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Great food.
Let’s start with how clean and nice the restaurant is. Unlike most Thai restaurants this one is extremely clean and has new interior.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
The food-wow-some of the best Thai in the area. The duck red curry is amazing. I have had this dish 4 times and every time it’s perfect. The eggplant dish is extremely good-the sauce they use is full of pepper and sources. So delicious. Please try this Thai restaurant.
Closer to us than Kanjana Thai was. And the food is still exceptional.
Here's a tip. Order out. Don't dine in. Food is great. Service is terrible. Came in to meet a friend for lunch. Usually I order take away, so I thought I'd be greeted by similarly matched service.
I accidentally spilled my water and cleaned it up, drying the water and picking up what ice cubes I could. When I asked for additional napkins, the server scolded me. When I mean scold, I mean barked something back that was a little indiscernible but very clearly irritated. I apologized, but she quipped something about her having done this for a long time?? Hard to really infer.
Anyway, my overall vibe was sunk after this little altercation.
Bottom line. Great food, rude service.
Best Thai I’ve ever had, ever
Wow. The food was so Delicious. Very impressed. I will definitely come again.
Really nice, the food is fresh and tasty and I definitely recommend it.
It's arguably the best Thai food in the DMV or U.S. That's saying a lot because I travel to Thailand frequently. Please don't change anything!
A delicious modern Thai restaurant with beautiful spacious interior seating, a fashionable bar, and a very inviting interior. Every dish we ordered was very tasty but some of the highlights include the pad see ew which was delicious with snappy wide rice noodles perfectly cooked with tender beef. The seafood combination (mussels, shrimp, scallops, squid) yellow curry was perfectly cooked. The scallops were tender like butter, shrimp was snappy, mussels were soaked in the delicious broth. All the standard Thai spice accoutrements were available like chili powder and sambal. For dessert, the mango sticky rice and the thai iced tea panda cotta are must try options.
We have done dine in and take out. This place is great and super convenient. I love thw obline ordering with spice level choices. They are 100% our go to for Thai food from now on!
My friends and I just had lunch here and we loved it. Very friendly staff, excellent service, wonderful food and our food came out quickly. We highly recommend the fresh spring rolls, drunken noodles, and pad see ew. We'll definitely go back!
First of the service here is amazing, I have lived in Burke my entire childhood and I cannot emphasize enough how lovely it is to have a Thai place around the corner. The portion size is perfect they don’t skimp on the meat either. I didn’t get to eat inside unfortunately but the vibes are so cute, perfect for date night too. All in all I will be a returning customer I hope y’all get to the food before I eat it all
We have eaten here a few times since the grand opening. The food could be more consistent. In the pictures, I have 4 noodles dishes. 2 are drunken noodles, and 2 are pad ses ew that aren't nearly the same. Pineapples Fried Rice is sweet. Of all the dishes, the fried fish is excellent. I give 4 stars for lunchtime and 2 stars for dinner. I'm not sure if they have different chefs or are overwhelming at night. Overall, it is a 3-star because the food doesn't taste like Thai food.
Great addition to the Burke restaurant scene. Ordered beef pad see ew and pork pad Thai for take out and was still great quality when we brought it home.
The beef was tender and loved the addition of bok choy to the pad see ew.
Will definitely be back!
So happy a Thai place opened up on this side of burke! Everything was delicious. The chicken satay was very juicy, and the pad Thai was well seasoned with generous shrimp. The crab fried rice had sizeable lumps of crab and had a warm feeling from how it was seasoned. The curry was rich and lovely. Cant wait to have more in this cutely decorated spot!
We had a great lunch here. The decor is cute and aesthetic, and the food was delicious. Having visited Thailand, the food was comparable, and super fresh. The duck pad krapow was amazing and crispy, and the green curry was flavorful and just the right portion size.
Honestly the best Thai in Burke. I’m used to having to drive 20 mins to Elephant Jumps or sisters Thai. The Pad See Ew, Tom Kha, and drunken noodles were excellent.
That being said, the duck red curry is better at sisters Thai and the crab fried rice lacked any real flavor.
So yummy!! amazing service ❤️ Guay tiew tom yum hits the spot - would recommend it to anyone who loves thai cuisine!
Food was so good, I ordered different dishes and plan to try their whole menu. Would definitely recommend.
Fired noodles are the must.
The place looks fairly new and clean. Subpar Thai food and service. Too much sauce on the Pad Thai. Overall, Wouldn't come back.
Great food! This is now my favorite Thai food restaurant in the DMV. Everything we have had is so tasty. Try the curry puffs, all varieties are similarly excellent and good. My only tweak would be, if you get the pineapple fried rice, add in some spice; the added spice will balance the sweetness and take it to the next level.
The best pad see ew noodles I ever had and I probably had it 100 times. I saw in the reviews that the beef was supposedly tender so that was my choice for meat; it was just as tender as a NY steak. The flavor of the pad see ew was perfect and I like how they char the noodles, that always makes a big difference in the flavor profile! 10/10 don't walk, run to this place!
We’re so happy that AM Thai opened, here. The restaurant is very modern, clean with beautiful pop of colors. They have a very well-thought-out menu. We were really excited to see soft shell crab and whole fish on the menu!! We love it! This time, we ordered Papaya Salad, Pad See Ew with beef, Soft shell crab and the red curry with pork. They were all delicious, and everything was cooked to perfection! We knew we were in for a treat upon seeing the menu, and they didn’t disappoint. The owner and chef Mike was very nice as well! Service was top notch and quick. We’ll be back with the rest of our crew (okay, with our kids), to try out their other offerings, especially the desserts! This is our new favorite Thai spot in Burke!!!
This was by far the best Thai place in the area, the food was authentic, fresh, and delicious. The staff were so incredibly kind and showed great hospitality and care to us. The place is welcoming and inviting yet quiet and it has a wonderful atmosphere and decor. It’s definitely a place I would recommend, everything about it was perfect
This place is amazing! Finally a good Thai place in Burke. Will be coming back!
Very tasty…definitely in our rotation. We had the pad see ew which we have tried at many Thai restaurants in the DMV and it may be our favorite.
Great new Thai restaurant in Burke!
Our first time here and it was so yummy! We really like another Thai spot in springfield and we always compare other Thai restaurants to them however, AmThai is now our new favorite! Pleasantly surprised we like AmThai more. Friendly service and tasty food. We’ll definitely be regulars here. love that is down the street from us too!
Very impressed! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and provided excellent service. My friend and I split three appetizers, which were all outstanding. The fresh spring rolls were our favorite—filled with crisp vegetables, beautifully prepared, and served with a side of delicious peanut dipping sauce made in-house. The main courses we ordered were also fantastic, prepared with bright, fresh vegetables, white meat chicken breast, and sautéed in perfectly balanced, tasty sauce. Very reasonable prices. We’ll definitely be back soon!
Good price for delicious food! Got an app, entree, and noodle dish all for under 40! Also, one of the better Thai places in the area! I’ve had my share of Thai food around here and this place was clean, neat, delicious, and the service was great! Will definitely be coming here for my Thai food now!
The place was very clean and had a great atmosphere, the service was friendly and quick, and the food was great! Will be coming back.
My son and I had dinner yesterday. He had a wide noodle dish (forget which one), I had a spicy rice stir-fry, which is something I never order, but decided to try it. Nice flavors, but too oily and I wish there were a lot more vegetables in the dishes.
I'll try again soon, though.
Came here with a few of my friends today for the first time. OMG the food were AMAZING! I loved everything!! We ordered medium spicy drunken noodle and it was the best I’ve had. Fried duck was so tender. The restaurant was spacious and cozy. If you’re reading this review, it is your sign to come to AmThai!! You will not regret it. I’ll definitely be coming here again with my family.
An amazing 👏 new treasure in Burke. I was in the area for work, and my co-worker and I were hungry for our usual Pho place. I saw this place instead, and boy let me tell you it was worth every penny. We started off with some spring rolls comes with this amazing fruit sauce. Truelly love was put in this dish. Then Pang Curry I have enjoyed many places version and hands down this place has the best. Do yourself a favor and try this place out, you will be very pleased. Thank you chef for coming out and introducing yourself and chatting with me. You have a great concept and we will be back whenever we are in Burke.
their Drunken Noodles were dope
We placed an online order for pickup and everything was ready when we got to the restaurant. Our food was piping hot when we got it home, and each dish was clearly labeled. I appreciated the attention to detail!
The service was great, low key friendly atmosphere the food just wasn't for me. Great presentation and plenty of food. Food was ok but I doubt I will return. The noodles were very soggy, it lacked a smoky quality which you kind of expect from a wok. The sauce was really sweet and super salty. The red curry was ok though the meat had a spongy texture like fast food Chinese. The spring roll didn't have much if any filling and what little filling there was didn't add flavor. What I did like which I think many will not was the Chive dumplings. It was more like mochi with chives fried vs what you might imagine a dumpling is. Real interesting textures and bold flavor I really enjoy, I just doubt most of my friends would enjoy it like me. They have great ratings because they cater to their clientele and should continue to do so because you can't be all things to all people. Unfortunately, I don't think I represent that clientele they cater to.
Great addition to the neighborhood. Food is great. Delivery is great. Packaging is really good!
Great dining experience. The restaurant was about 75% full. The service was prompt and friendly. We had 3 adults and 3 children in our group. The Boba and Hot Tea were good. All of the entries were excellent, fried rice, curry, salmon, etc...
This is the best thai in the greater area.
I dream about their basil fried rice. Everything is incredibly fresh and the meat is tender. It has only been open a couple weeks and I have been back 4 times!
The staff is so nice, the restaurant is super clean and the atmosphere is top notch.
So glad to see my favorite Thai place, Kanjana, open a second location!
Friendly staff
The curry puffs were amazing! Great service, excellent food, lots of fun.
Came for lunch service, really tasty Chicken Pad Thai (Saucy vs Dry) big portion for reasonable price! Also had Chicken with Eggplant stir fried in a nice brown sauce with a little kick. Thai iced tea was also on point not as sweet as other places which is nice. Nice addition to Burke!
