Ploy Thai offers great service and a welcoming ambiance. Despite being located in a nondescript plaza, the interior is beautifully decorated, giving it the feel of a nicer restaurant.

We started with the miso soups and crab rangoons. Both were delicious. The rangoons had a pleasant surprise--a hint of curry sauce inside, which added a flavorful twist. The miso soup was hearty and more elevated than the typical version, making it a perfect way to start the meal.

For our entrees, we tried the Panang curry and the crispy duck. The Panang curry was outstanding, and I'd definitely recommend it. The crispy duck, which was heavily promoted around the restaurant, looked great but unfortunately was extremely dry. It didn't meet expectations, especially compared to the rest of the meal.

Overall, I highly recommend giving Ploy Thai a try. While the crispy duck was a bit of a letdown, the rest of the experience more than made up for it!

Oh, and the Thai iced coffee was fantastic!!!

This is our first visit to a Thai restaurant and we loved 🥰 the ambiance and atmosphere. The food is very yummy 😋 too. We arrived almost at the closing time and the lady was so patient with us. The best part is it’s very close to AMC.

I had the eggplant and scallops. It was delicious.
The server brought me a variety of different chili's and spicy oils to try on the dish and the rice. It was sooo good. One that I put on the rice (can't remember the name) was far too hot for me, lol.

This is the best Thai food in the Tampa area. I visit this restaurant at least once a week. The food is always amazing, everything comes out quickly, the staff are so sweet and knowledgeable. I recommend this place to anyone I can.

They still got it! Over the years, this place is one of greats in the area! Sushi, Pad Thai, Curries, Tom Kha, Crab Rangoon, Veggie, Vegan, Seafood, specialty teas. I tried the Rama, which is new to me and it was delicious with fried tofu and eggplant to dip in the peanut-coconut sauce. Tried my husband’s shrimp and chicken Massanan and it was perfect. Service is outstanding and food comes out HOT and FRESH to order. Love this place forever.

Excellent tangerine peach sangria! The Tom Kha Gai soup was delicious although prefer a few pieces of tomato but not all places make it that way. The red curry was good. We had a salmon roll and the salmon tasted a bit off.

They could use some lessons on food running. We got everything pretty much at the same time. Should have been soup, sushi roll and then the entree. Makes for a more balanced dining experience. All in all though nothing major. Definitely will visit there again.

Service was good but the pad thai was soo saucy and the edamame had no salt and tasted like they had been headed up 2 or 3 times. Oh and the air was broken when we were there.

Update 20Sep2024 - Portions for everything has gone down significantly for appetizers and entrees.Prices are higher as well. The food is still good but the value is significantly lower. Service is still great but we're going to look around for other options going forward.

I love this place. Its a nice vibe and the classical music versions of pop music are a nice touch per musical ambience. Food is great but i do find one spring roll to be on the small portion side. Service has always been great - i have only gone for lunch and its been speedy. Nice staff, delicious dishes.

Want a reasonably priced lunch during the week that is not fast food. Have some of their thai food and enjoy. Friendly staff and great selections. One thing they can improve on is bringing back their spice trays.

While I would normally say I love this place this time was a different story, I asked if they could make fried rice without soy and if I could have it on the side and they said they can do that and they had soy packets. So we ordered the dish and the person I came with is allergic to soy. The dish ended up having soy and the waiter said they put "gluten free soy" when I specifically said no soy sauce and on the side and I'll use soy for my side of the rice(the packets). Lucky she isn't highly allergic to soy but still had an allergic reaction, causing her throat to be slightly itchy and bumps on her tongue. If she was highly allergic this could've been a completely different story. I love this place and the food is always 5 stars but if there is a misunderstanding or allergies, be sure you completely understand your customer before you serve them something they CANNOT EAT.

Food is good, but portions are very small. I asked if the portions were typically that small and the server said it was a lunch portion. It may be a lunch portion for a small child but they need to serve just a little bit more. I overheard a customer near me make a similar complaint about there only being 2 small pieces of tofu in her pad Thai so I decided to review. I should have take a picture but i was so unimpressed about the portion that I didn’t take a pic. I am just leaving this place and am still hungry. Going elsewhere

what a amazing thai restaurant. I was looking for a place to replace lemon grass. I think i found it. Lunch specials are good and filling. Thai tea came in a large cup, which never happens. Really great service.

My mom, son, daughter-in-law and I enjoyed a phenomenal dinner last night. Food was excellent as always, but after a very stressful day for all of us, it was the very relaxing atmosphere and the superb service provided by Nancy that made all the difference. She took the time to engage us in a nice conversation. She was so kind and polite and went out of her way to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. She also catered to my son and made sure his meal was prepared a special way without sauce to support his regimen. It was refreshing and just what we needed after a day like yesterday. We will definitely be back soon!

Ploy Thai is a beautiful restaurant with attentive service and delicious food. The Crispy Duck Panang was the best we've had anywhere in Tampa Bay and the Pad Thai was delicious and a huge portion! Our waitress was so sweet and helpful. This is a great place for a casual dinner out with friends or a date night.

BEST Thai food in Brandon!!

Just paid 34 bucks for a few pieces of dried out duck meat and a very small portion of calamari. The few pieces of ducks ($20) came on top a ginormous bed of noodles and some veggies. At $10 for the calamari apetizer, also dry and was only a few pieces. I've heard of restaurants who do this to carryout customers... My first AND last visit.

We love this place and when compared to other Thai restaurants in the area they are the most authentic. Their food is fantastic and does not taste like it's been modified for the American pallet. They offer different levels of spiciness but overall their food quality is amazing. In addition the service is fantastic. If you like Thai food this is a must if you live within 15-20 minutes from this place. The atmosphere is also very authentic and pleasing with a high end touch with its design and cultural relevance. It's like taking you to Thailand.

Holy smokes! What an absolute gem! The place is in a little unassuming strip mall but the inside is absolutely gorgeous. It's a beautiful date night spot with the most authentic Thai dishes I've found since moving to Florida. The staff are super friendly and personable. All of our dishes were absolutely perfect. Flavorful and balanced and creative.

The jasmine milk tea is not to be missed, and the crispy duck has the CRUNCH you won't want to pass up.

I have now been here twice but I should go more often. The restaurant itself is very cute, the service is great, and food is ever better. The main room is much nicer than the back, so if you have a party of 2-4 enjoy the area in the main dining room. Thai tea is a must, and the lychee tea is very refreshing as well! Bathroom is really clean and smells good, that’s always a plus.

The service is excellent, the atmosphere is beautiful and tranquil, and the food is always served hot and delicious. The Rama garden and green curry with fried eggplant are MUST HAVES.

Had massaman curry and pad Thai and thought it was very average. None of the curries are vegan friendly as they have fish sauce in them. One of my friends has a shellfish allergy and couldn't get any curries either. The service was great but won't be returning here for food again!

So, I originally went in for sushi and was told they no longer have it. I still decided to stay and try it out. Had the lychee iced Thai tea, Thai crab rolls and shrimp pad z ew. All dishes were good and the staff was friendly and attentive. No complaints from me. Nice little afternoon lunch.

This was our first, and our last trip to Ploy Thai. When we arrived there weren't many customers and we waited too long to be greeted, way too long for a server to visit our table, and we're on the brink of walking out because it was nearly 50 minutes before our food came out after ordering.

I went in with large group of people. They got my order wrong and refused to replace it saying it would take too long to prepare it again. I had ordered Green curry but they brought the Ginger curry. On top of that, the Ginger curry tasted horrible and food potion was small.

Visiting from out of town and happened upon Poy Thai. Best Thai food I've had in a long time. Highly recommend the Spicy Noodle dish in particular. (I went back tonight to get some to have on the plane tomorrow.) Also the ambiance is superb. Decorated to the hilt with beautiful Thai carvings and other art. You won't be disappointed!

The food was ok; I came here for sushi as my wife loves Thai. I'm not the biggest fan. The green curry was good, and the tofu was well made. I wanted my sushi, and to my disappointment, they no longer serve it. Maybe time for a name change some search engines say Thai and sushi just like the menu.

So, here’s the thing, this place is hands down one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve been to. I delightfully enjoyed the Beef Pad Thai. The customer service was also 5star treatment. After more than 2 decades of eating Thai food this is in my top 10! Not to mention the tasteful Thai decor that makes you feel like you’re in Bangkok. If you love Thai food or you’re just a novice this is a super treat for your palate. Highly recommended.

As a retired military family, one of our favorite things to do when moving to a new place is finding a Thai Restaurant. Ploy Thai was one of our first finds in Brandon FL. It has such a beautiful atmosphere depicting Thai environments and luxury at its finest. Even the bathroom was so serene and the chairs are soft and inviting. The girls who work there provide really pleasant service and are quick to make you feel welcome. And then there's the food ... the most delicious Thai food, I can't describe it, you just have to go eat there! 😋

Me and my wife have been looking for a good Thai place around the area and this ones a good option for anyone looking for a usual spot. The inside decor is beautiful and fun to look around at the different decorations and fixtures. The food flavor was rich, but I have a minor complaint that my personal food temperature was a little cold and my wifes noodles were a little over cooked, but honestly the meal was delicious and the presentation was nice. The atmosphere was quiet and casual playing a few songs on repeat. Would come back and try another dish.
