Thai influenced cuisine
We tried stopping in for dinner tonight (1/31) and ended up walking out—something I’ve never done before. From the moment we walked in, the experience was disappointing. The dining area was filled with dirty tables, which could have been understandable if they had just finished a dinner rush. However, we waited at the sign that instructed us to wait for a server for about 5 minutes, during which four takeout parties came in and were promptly helped at the cashier area, while we were not even acknowledged.
Thinking we might be in the wrong spot, we moved to the takeout line. When it was finally our turn, we were told we had to go back to the first sign to wait. After another 10 minutes of being ignored, a large group came in, and a female server immediately greeted them. Even the group noticed we had been waiting first and pointed it out. Yet the server didn’t even glance at us, instead walking away to clean a table for their reservation.
With my background in service, I try not to be overly critical, but this was appalling. The aromas in the restaurant smelled amazing, but the lack of basic acknowledgment or respect completely turned me off. With so many other outstanding Thai restaurants nearby, I won’t be giving Fav Bistro another chance.
The dish I ordered was cold and dry and the service was pathetic. Since we had a large group the gratuity was included and definitely not earned. I don't agree with adding gratuity to large groups, because of just that.
The appetizers and my wife's and sons dishes were really good, mine just wasn't.
The place wasn't busy at all, maybe 4 other customers, so I'm not quite sure why the food was cold and the server was non existent.
Food here is good, but don’t do take out. We ordered on their website, and were given a time to be there. When we showed up they acted like we did not have an order. We showed them all the paper work documenting our order and then they said it was lost. We then had to wait another 30 mins for the food. They did not apologize or take much responsibility for what happened. I have loved this place for some time, but did not appreciate the way we were treated.
I was shocked how good the food is. I had the Thai fried rice with pork and my wife had the same with chicken. Excellent flavors and freshly cooked and tender meats. The Tempura veggies appetizer and Thai custard with sticky rice make me want to move to Utah (I despise Utah).
Always a great meal.
attention was very weird, the food was alright and when the waitress brought the check she stayed looking at me to see how much tip i was putting on it then she saw it and wanted us to add more money in the tip slip… made us uncomfortable
Ask for vegan options and they can accommodate
Service was slow, my food was cold. My friend's drunken noodles were excellent, but... not better than most thai places.

Fav always tries to do everything to make my gluten-free experience a good one! I appreciate them so much, especially Lynn!
One of my favorite local Thai food places!! Always great!!
most items are gluten free + lots of vegan options. best pho i have ever had! their tofu is nice and crispy ingredients feel fresh.
I love this place! Amazing food and the servers are very friendly.
I was shocked how good the food is. I had the Thai fried rice with pork and my wife had the same with chicken. Excellent flavors and freshly cooked and tender meats. The Tempura veggies appetizer and Thai custard with sticky rice make me want to move to Utah (I despise Utah).
The massaman curry was good, but the pad Thai was terrible. I have eaten pad Thai from many restaurants and the pad thai from Fav had a sweet, sickening flavor that I could not even eat. It is supposed to be spicy and savory, not sweet. No one in my house could eat it; it was terrible.
Panang curry was incredible!! Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for incredible Thai food!
Food was great and so was the service. Lots of plant decor too!
I hate to leave a bad review for this place. For such a long time I really loved coming here, and would come here on a regular basis. However, recently I feel like the service has gone way downhill. The last two times I came here, I received some of the worst service I've ever had anywhere. Last time we were served food that had been sitting there, and was completely stale. Both times no one even bothered to check in. This last time, they seemed completely annoyed and inconvenienced that we were even there. I think the food is great! I think the kitchen does a great job every time. Unfortunately, after my last experience they have officially lost me as a customer. Wish your company the best! Hopefully they can learn from the experience, and provide other people with a better experience.
I ordered Thai Grilled Chicken, that chicken was Cold and Dry and came with the sweet sauce from a bottle you can buy at the Asian Market. We ordered pad Thai too but it didn’t look like the picture online, and was really Salty with little flavor.
The food was great and the service was excellent. The only drawback was the music was slowed covers of famous songs, including the Greatest Showman.
The mango curry was perfection. I started by eating the vegetables. I then put the rice into the curry bowl and ate it all up. The heat was perfect!
I have a goal to try all the Thai restaurants in Salt Lake City and so far it has been quiet enjoyable.
I haven’t had a bad Thai meal yet! I got the Tom kha soup here which was delicious and then I got green curry.
My friend got an omelet so they definitely had good that wasn’t Thai, although I think it was Thai inspired. Either way this restaurant is great and the ambiance is really pretty. I like the art on the walls and the interior style. They have a patio as well.
Fresh, delicious prepared well. I had veggie stir fry with shrimp.
I love their schnitzel curry! It’s my special treat!
So after looking and looking and finding zero good "chinese" food in the SLC area, I bit my lip and nervously tried Thai. Ack! I know, Thai? It has to be scary... I've never tried Thai before and just... WOAH!
Ok so do they have all the rolls spring roll etc, yep have those. Stir fry... yep and it's the best. Noodle dishes have them too. Asian soup? Also there. So it isn't "Chinese"? Nope. It's Thai and it's good and you should try it because it's just awesome.
Trust me. You are gonna thank me, so I will say it ahead of time, you're welcome.
Pad Thai noodles were undercooked
Tasty Thai food.
Got take out. Overall pretty expensive for the quality of the food. Green curry was good but rice was undercooked. Service was good, fast. Pineapple fried rice was probably the worst I’ve ever had, unfortunately.
Tasty good and good tap beer. We'll be going back.
Try this out for the first time yesterday. The mango curry salad was very delicious. The sticky rice with mango dessert is heavenly
please eat here best thai ever !!
Really great Thai food, vegan and vegetarian options. They even have good boba and some cookies near the counter that are super affordable and really delicious.
I was expecting it to be of similar quality to Pei Wei (PF Chang’s fast food version). But the rice noodles were overcooked and soggy, the sticky rice was wrapped in plastic wrap and gelled together, was more like a sticky clump, and the sauce for the stir fry vegetables was watery with little flavor.
My husband and I went for dinner and ordered the pad Thai with chicken and the massaman curry with beef. The pad Thai noodles were gummy and the sauce was super sweet and weird tasting. The massaman was pretty flavorless except for a ton of added salt. We won’t be returning.
One of our local favorites!
They have lots of gluten free options.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. I cane say enough about their Tom Ka soup. I’ve never had Tom ka that tasted like this. It has carrots in it and a different type of spice that I’ve never had before. It was fantastic. I’ll be back every time I go to salt lake
I sure loved eating there the food is awesome and the service was spectacular I totally recommend this fantastic eating experience to anyone!
The curry is great
The curry was so yummy!!
Another hit in utah. This place has delicious curry, Thai fried rice. Yummy orange chicken. Nice atmosphere and sweet staff
First time here for our family of 3. They were so friendly and the food was delicious! The pot stickers were so good we got an extra order to go. Hubs got the yellow curry with chicken and I got the Thia fried rice with pork. We shared with our 2 yr old but her favorite was the pot stickers, hands down. They even provided children safe bowls and cutlery for her. Spent less than we would at other local restaurants even with the added specialty beers. Beautiful atmosphere, lovely live plants.. almost snagged a couple clippings for my own collection ;) We will definitely be frequenting this place more often. Can't wait to taste some of their other dishes and expand our palates!
Pretty great
Perhaps because I just got back from Thailand, but, this restaurant has far too high of a price for the quality of food and the lack of service. I won’t be back
Very poor and unfriendly greeting. Horrible start…Greeter was rude and service extremely slow. 2:52 pm on Wednesday August 23rd, 2023
The orange chicken had the texture of overcooked rubber. Almost no chicken. Just hardened batter.
The most delicious Thai food in the valley! The salads, curry and pad Thai are all incredible. The flavors and freshness are so so good. And the chocolate orange cookies and fresh kombucha on tap are worth every penny. Love it.
I really like this place. They have friendly staff, a great menu, and generous portions. One of my favorite local places for dinner. I haven’t had a bad dish here but the drunken noodles are a favorite. Definitely will be returning.
THE best restaurant ever!!! Great authentic southeast Asian/American fusion food I’ve had! Great service, great atmosphere and great management! Definitely will be back! Absolutely love this place!
Excellent food and service!
We enjoyed this food so much. Don't miss the Kow Soi! Pad Thai was also stellar. Service is perfect. We'll be back!
Best food ever!
The garlic green beans are tasty. The red curry is fantastic (I swapped the veggies for potatoes n carrots, highly recommended). Great variety of foods (salads/bbq/curry/noodles/seafood) to accommodate large groups or picky eaters.
I eat here frequently, and everything I have tried is excellent! I particularly enjoy the Traditional Stir Fry! Solid 5 stars.
There is love at work here
Great food
All was great
their brunch is amazing!
Everything about the Fav Bistro was wonderful! Some of the best Thai fusion food I've ever had! Fantastic drunken noodles, green curry and boba tea.
Love the flavors...
Such a delicious soups!! I’m in love!! The place is really clean and food fresh!! I will keep coming !! And it is open Sundays!! Great!!
Fab Bistro is our go to go Thai food in Utah. Do yourself a favor and try it. You will not be disappointed.
This is one of the best Thai restaurants in Salt Lake City. Their curry's are awesome!
service was slow but if you look around you see that they are hiring. so, they need to find someone but that shouldn't be a penalty in my opinion.
other than slow service, the selection, food, atmosphere, host, waiter, and table clearing person were all awesome. the people here are very sweet and even found time to give my family personalized attention.
spicy level 2 is actually spicy. reminds me of scorpion or ghost pepper hot sauce level. REALLY ENJOYED spicy level 2 pad thai. I wouldn't recommend getting this on its own as it was even too spicy to eat alone!
We had Massaman Poutine which is london-style "curry truck dish" that was amazing and unique. I've never seen or heard of this before and I've eaten a ton of Thai food. The Larb, Tom Kha, dumpling soup and custom made angel-hair noodles were all extremely delicious and full of flavor.
Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a little bit of patience for some of the best thai food in the country (I live in NYC and this place goes toe to toe with the best places in new york!)
The thing that is great here is food! I have never enjoyed such delicious rice and chicken! Delicious meals at am amazing price! Definitely worth stopping by
The dish I ordered was cold and dry and the service was pathetic. Since we had a large group the gratuity was included and definitely not earned. I don't agree with adding gratuity to large groups, because of just that.

Wonderful company dinner for 10. The food was fresh healthy and delicious. They took great care of us.
Love Fav Bistro great food
Great place for casual eating. We try to go after the lunch crunch. Food is good, but needs to pack a bit more spice.
Simply the best bistro there is . Love it
Flavorful food, wide variety of choices. Good service, with quick food preparation. I look forward to when I can return.
I went her bc thai orchard was closed and was very disappointed with the chicken pad thai.
It was a small portion, noodles were soggy and there was too much vinegar
Loved Fav Bistro!
Went to a brunch with the group of 8. The location barely had any customers. After we ordered, we waited more than an hour to get our food… Everyone’s eggs were over salted and the good was average☹️
Very slow service on the night we went. Everything we ordered seem to be on a sweeter side including their pad Thai and their basil stir fry, their white rice tasted old and not serve hot asked for
New one and it never came.
Amazing food, but be aware that the take out portions for the mango sticky rice are probably only good for 1 person, so make sure you order 1 per person who wants dessert!
Why you guys closed without notifying? We drove down for a long drive on Saturday but the apps say you close on Monday.
I love this place. Great Thai (mostly) food. Huge variety. Delicious. Beautiful space and lovely patio (in the summer). Most of the menu items can be made vegan by choosing tofu for the protein (much appreciated!)
Staffing has always been an issue here. We are going on 13 minutes waiting for the waitress to take our order despite having taken the tables directly next to ours 10 minutes ago. The waitress is literally laughing and talking with her co workers while we wait. This was the reason we stopped coming for ao long until today. We just left.
Amazing patio space, wonderful service, and yummy menu!
Great service and piping hot good food, definitely will be back.
Lovely ambiance. Beautifully served dishes large portions. My pad Thai was too sweet Excellent service
We dined at Fav Bistro a couple of nights ago. Service was slow and poor. We waited 15 minutes after being seated at our table and still, no one had come to offer water or take our drink order. (The restaurant was not crowded at the time and we could see the servers helping other diners.) Finally, my boyfriend said aloud what I had been thinking: this was getting ridiculous. About 5 minutes later, a young water appeared at our table. My boyfriend ordered a beer and I ordered a glass of Malbec. I had a preview of what was to come when the wine arrived and the pour was meager. We ordered meals and I made a point that I wanted salmon with my panang curry. When the meals finally arrived, my dish had shrimp instead of salmon. I pointed this out to the server and waited. By the time the dish that I had ordered was set before me, my boyfriend was taking his last bite. The meal was decent but the salmon was overcooked. The slow, inattentive service + overcooked fish made for a poor experience. Pretty disappointing since I had been excited to take my boyfriend out for Thai food.
Not a good restaurant. Expensive as well. Overcooked chicken in the curry and pot stickers slightly burnt. Will not try this place again.
Buena comida, buena atención
This is the place to eat in Paris. Good food, great service, and even better drinks. You have to check them out.
This was our go to during the pandemic. Great Thai!
Used to be pretty good but the take out and delivery has taken a hit. Order food for my wife and daughter, something that wasn’t spicy or hot and called back about it being to hot for my wife and daughter when normally its sweet and delicious. The guy got upset and said he made the order right and won’t refund but will “hook it up next time we order” so we order again and get sent veggies with coconut milk because he thought we didn’t want seasonings in it 🤦♂️. Then the waiter I talk to about this and just get attitude about the situation along with the cook. I don’t know how it is dinning their but definitely won’t do takeout/delivery again. easier to find something better tasting then the standard Utah kitchen cooking.
Curry was very good. Cauliflower appetizer was great.
Not impressed tonight. Usually got 7 or 8 pieces on appetizers and only 5 on each one.
Had the beef salad and it was simply amazing. Super bright and juicy I couldn’t stop eating. We also got the yellow curry and it was also delicious. Portions are large and value is great. Will definitely order again.
New local spot
Love the atmosphere, curry food is amazing! They have a nice drink selection as well, or you can pay a cork fee. Mango Curry is one of my favorites! We've been going here on occasion for a few years now, and last night we tried the garlic fried green beans, great appetizer!! Big chunks of fried garlic on top as well as seasoned with it! We also got the cream cheese wontons, one of our favorites!!
Service and food are excellent. Just be patient.
My favorite Thai food in Salt Lake. Amazing food and lovely service. The staff were so friendly and seated me right away. I’ve only had takeout prior to my most recent visit. It’s a very mellow and comfortable atmosphere. I asked my server for a dish that best represented the restaurant and he recommended the red curry. Very delicious with such distinctive flavor and spice profiles. The pumpkin curry puffs are also essential. Very good balance of sweet and savory and fried to perfection. Awesome crunch. This is a must visit.
great
We ordered Chicken wing, it was crunchy and good, but a bit salty. Fried rice and tom yum were not that impressed, not as good as I can cook or even ate in Thailand. Anyway tom yum goong is a little too much sour.
Food ok, service could be much better.
Bomb Thai
A great place!
The food is wonderful and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Love it great authentic Thai food
Excellent food,service,ambiance
Just had dinner there with my wife and brother, who has been in Thailand several times, and thinks it is the best Thai food he has ever had.
This place was already excellent, but it has gotten better than ever with the arrival of their new cook, who I was told, just arrived from Thailand.
Is there any way we can give it 6 stars?
This place is bangin! I have yet to find something that I don't love. And that home brewed kombucha is so delightful. Wish I could buy it at stores. Also the staff are very friendly and helpful. I come here often, and have only experienced great customer service. Kow Soi & Lechee Curry are top tier for me.
My absolute favorite place for brunch!!!
One of the best Thai restaurants in the area along with their sister restaurant Tea Rose Diner. Offers a collection of other Asian (Japanese, Chinese, etc.) foods but have never tried those. Outdoor patio is nice and service is good.
Nice place, evenly paced on service but friendly once they get there. They have a complete drink menu and the appetizers are quite yummy! The cream cheese puffs were great: pumpkin and cream cheese! The other appetizers all looked great. I ordered the pad thai, regrettably. Way too much sugar. The other dishes my party ordered were tasty: drunken noodles, Tom kha. I am going to come back and just eat their appetizers for dinner next time or go for the curry. Hopefully, the curry won’t be as sugar filled. However, they did a nice job and provided fish sauce (no peppers but they did give me some chili paste that was plenty hot). Still, no Prik nam blah? Hmmm. Maybe don’t have that many people ask for it?
Probably my favorite Thai restaurant. Their garden rolls (add shrimp) are always fresh and the peanut sauce is addictive! Pumpkin curry is always great
Good food.
Love their menu, great ambience, and the price offers a really good value.
Husband and I took some family out to dinner here. I had THE BEST SHRIMP & GRITS in the valley. Had no idea the house made ice cream we had was vegan…it was that good. The curries are rich and full of flavor…go there! It was a little bit of a wait but it’s worth it, use a little patience and smile. It’s better than chasing down the wait staff and pestering them to sit down like the large group of entitled well-to-do people did who came in after we did.
Go there, slow down, order the plum sake and enjoy!
Great food. Horrible service. We were sat at 7:40, were immediately told the kitchen closes at 8pm. We ordered within a few minutes. Our food came out shortly, our water was never refilled once and my wife had to walk back by the kitchen to grab some utensils. I used chop sticks that came with my meal, and we shared a napkin. If you dont want to serve folks so close to close, dont seat them.
Food was good, seemed over priced though. When I payed the cashier to pick my food up, I payed with cash. She asked me if I wanted my change. My change was $9.17. Didn't seem right, I had already put money in the tip jar.
Super disappointed with this place. We ordered ahead and even when we arrived at their specified time we waited 40 minutes to get takeout. Total time required from order to pickup nearly 2 hours. At no point did any of the 5 different staff that asked me why I was there offer any explanation or apologies for the excessive wait. There were maybe 15 people in the seating area. So they were not very busy.
When we got home 3 of the 4 dishes were good. Just not good enough to wait 2 hours to eat. The 4th one i didnt even finish. Not finishing is something i rarely will do.
There are a handful of other Thai restaurants in the area that are able to have you ready to go in 20-30 minutes so unless you have a lot of time to waste and you are not particularly hungry I would go anywhere else.
We absolutely love Fav Bistro. Our go to dishes are Massaman Curry, drunken noodles and tempura crunch.
Wonderful Thai food! From the appetizers to dinner to dessert I've had only the BEST. I've tried many items from all 3 of these menu items and haven't been disappointed once. This restaurant is a must try!
This place is really good
It was super bad I found a hair in my food and after I told them this lady with bad makeup (looked like my niece did it) came up to me and gave me attitude and dirty looks. Over all it was so bad i wanna give you a 0 but that’s not possible, so I give you a 1…..
Wonderful charming
Food was fresh and delicious.
They were very kind in letting us stay and visit for a very long time.
Obsessed. The pulse here is incredible and so is the food. If you like soup, prepare to get your socks knocked clean off. One thing I have noticed is the last few times I've gone they have not given us the mini orange chocolate chip cookies with the check. I thought that was a cute touch and you guys should bring it back!
We love the Thai twist on the curries. I personally love the one with acorn squash. Wine and beer, I don’t think they have liquor. The biggest problem is that they close too early, and it is often not possible to get it by DoorDash if ordered after 7:30 ish.
I got the sweet and sour stir fry and oh my heck I have a new favorite! They were also very careful to not cross contaminate and I got to enjoy great Thai without worry about my nut allergies!! Thanks guys! Will be coming back soon(:
I've been going here when ever in town. Owners are great people.
My wife likes this place for some reason, some dishes seem fine. Me, I like a good Pad Thai. This is NOT the place to get good PT. Just ordered w chicken and there is literally a few very small nuggets of chk mixed in the massive lump of dry, tasteless noodles inside the thin layer of egg. Peel away the dry, cold layer of egg to reveal nothing but a mound of uninspired noodles. Like I said, tasteless and dry this mass is. There is much better Pad Thai around and this is far from even average. Seriously, a Thai restaurant that can't nail Pad Thai. Not spending money here again. $80 takeout for four, ridiculous cost for what we got.
Haven't been there since before the pandemic, so we were excited to venture out. I had the chicken satay for an appetizer. The chicken was moist and tasty, but the peanut sauce was a bit bland- definitely not what I recall from Indonesia. I also had the yellow curry with chicken. The curry itself was delicious, but a little milder than others I've had. The potatoes were cooked, but a little on the hard side. The ratio of chicken to veggies seemed a little low, but the chicken was very good. All in all, I felt that the meal was good, but could have been excellent.
Quite good thai food. I really enjoyed my food, but it was slightly too salty for me. Good spice level. Great service. Generous portions. Very cute setting for a night out.
A constructive feedback: I have been to countless thai restaurants in downtown and many other places. I do not think Pad Thai supposed to taste like what I tasted in the restaurant. Your restaurant has a great parking area and environment but the food was off for me. The taste is just different from the thai food I have had before. They charged me extra 3$ for a beef dish and it’s hilarious how little meat that came in the dishes. Like seriously I’m not mad but I just want to give my thoughts.
Had a delicious lunch on a cold fall afternoon. The panang curry was a delight. I enjoyed every forkful. My friend and I shared a pumpkin appetizer that we also liked very much. I look forward to returning. Service was friendly and prompt. Portions were generous.
Friendly, yet I didn’t get utensils or napkins although place was not busy.. food was had to go and get my own utensils . Pricy
I will be back!
My favorite healthy breakfast place
Food was delicious as usual but we sat on the patio due to COVID-19 and had hoped to use the heat lamp, but they had not replaced the tank , too bad...
Great and flavorful Thai fusion food. From "Pad Thai" to "Shrimp and Grits" the selection is wonderful. You will want to come back multiple times.
On a cold, rainy October night, Thai curry sounded perfect. Glad I found Fav Bistro. Was going to order yellow curry (a favorite), but ordered the massaman curry for take out instead. Creamy, cinnamon, ginger, cashew goodness. Will be ordering again.
