Welcome to Thai Bistro!
Authentic, delicious Thai food. Excellent and super quick service. We ordered the fresh rolls with chicken, red curry with chicken, and “Amazing” sautéed plate with chicken. Everything tasted great and fresh. I kid you not, we probably only waited 10 minutes for our food. I was pleasantly surprised! Spice level was just right. The restaurant was impeccably clean and I could see a little bit into the kitchen, which was very clean and organized as well (always a good sign!). Would definitely come back here again. Also, the rice was served in a heart shape which was so cute.
While in a medical office, the employees overheard us talking about Thai Bistro for lunch and vouched that this place is the best in the whole town for Thai food. We loved everything that we got. Thai tea wasn't too sweet or heavy from the cream, calamari was lightly fried yet really crispy, and both entrees just delectable! I had never had soft shell crab in a curry before, but it was delightful, and I was surprised to see a big piece of it underneath the veggies. Husband had enough of his pad thai to take home for dinner and enjoy it again that same night. It was so good that he said he wouldn't mind driving far-ish to come back.
Everything about this place is amazing!! The food is to die for, the service is excellent. The selection of dishes never disappoints. I had a coconut soup here - to die for!! So many other amazing dishes that I cannot count. Please come and visit this amazing team and taste their spectacular dishes.
Highly recommend
D any time of the year - and day/ their food is super good!!! 😊 my favorite is the coconut soup, Chicken Pad Thai, Steamed Dumplings but soooo many more I cannot list. Please find out for yourself and support this one of a kind local business.
My first experience with Thai Bistro was trying to order online but the site kept telling me something was wrong. No worries, I called in my order for pickup as I literally live within a 5 minute drive. My order was read back to me on the phone and all was good. I arrived a few minutes before the food was ready which was perfect because that meant everything will be hot when I got home.
I ordered for 4. Two curry dishes, two drunk noodle dishes, and three apps. One of the curry dishes was ordered with a hot spice level. The other three were medium spice. None of the three medium had any discernible level of spice added other than I could see a few black specks I took to possibly be a black pepper. The hot spice curry dish had a low level of spice added.
In addition to the disappointing spice level, it was noted that the two drunk noodle dishes lacked a sufficient amount of vegetables. And while the dishes were hot enough, hotter than warm but not by much, one drunk noodle dish was supposed to include chicken with an additional pork added. It only included pork.
One of the apps was Steamed dumplings and looked unusual and tasty. I have never seen dumplings like these. Served with a plumb sauce, I looked forward to trying one. It was barely above room temperature. We could have heated them in our microwave so not a big deal but still disappointing. We did not finish them.
Another app was deep fried wontons. Again, not hot. Just warm. They lacked flavor beyond the fried portion and some were left uneaten as well. It was as if the apps were prepared first and left waiting for the entrees to be made.
Other than the spice level of the curry dishes, the only other disappointment was that the sauce was too watery and not thick enough compared to other favored restaurants.
I was looking forward to having a great Thai meal so close to home. Having read the reviews I was certain this would be the spot. I hope this was a one off bad experience and not normal.
Our dining experience at Thai Bistro in Venice, Florida, was a delightful one, albeit with minor room for improvement.
From the moment we entered the restaurant, the staff greeted us with warm smiles, setting a positive tone for the rest of the evening. The service was friendly, efficient, and prompt, showing a keen commitment to customer satisfaction. Our orders were taken quickly, and the food arrived within a reasonable timeframe, allowing us to savor our meal without unnecessary delays.
The food itself was flavorful, a showcase of Thai culinary artistry. However, there was one significant concern - the spice level. I had ordered my dish "Thai hot", anticipating the bold, fiery flavors synonymous with Thai cuisine. Unfortunately, the spice level fell short of my expectations, leaning more toward mild than hot.
When I brought this to our waitress's attention, her solution was to provide a spice tray rather than offering to adjust the dish in the kitchen. While I appreciated her prompt response, I couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed by the lack of engagement in resolving the issue to my satisfaction.
Despite this minor setback, I must say that the overall dining experience was enjoyable. The ambiance was pleasant, and the remainder of the meal was delightful. This bistro undoubtedly offers a little piece of Thailand right here in Venice, Florida.
I am leaving a four-star review in the hope that Thai Bistro takes this constructive feedback into consideration and makes the necessary adjustments to ensure the 'Thai hot' indeed reflects the rich and fiery flavors we all love about Thai cuisine.
Thai Bistro remains a good choice for Thai food lovers, and I look forward to our next visit, hopeful for an even better experience.
Thai Bistro is a culinary gem, offering an exquisite array of authentic Thai dishes that tantalize the taste buds. From the rich and fragrant curries to the perfectly balanced pad Thai, each bite is a journey through the vibrant flavors of Thailand. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff add to the overall delightful dining experience. A definite recommendation for anyone seeking an exceptional Thai culinary adventure!
I've had this place a handful of times now and I gotta admit it's pretty mid but it's the closest to me. The food quality itself is consistent but the sauce levels are not. "Medium" sauce one night will be just fine and tepid and the next night will be drenched in sauce totally ruining the meal. All around good food but it feels like spinning the wheel sometimes
Totally Awesome
Food is fantastic and the staff is super friendly. Highly recommend this place.
Best Thai in our area
Wonderful dinner and even better service. Thank you for such a pleasant experience! Can’t wait to come back!
Best Thai in Venice hands down. Great quiet spot for a date. My gf and I make the drive down from Sarasota because it has been amazing every time we’ve visited. Super clean inside. Staff are very kind and friendly.
It was fri night and I felt like we were rushed they the meal because they had people waiting for tables. Good food
Ordered Sesame Chicken and pineapple fried rice for takeout. The chicken was minuscule and very chewy. There were at most 4 pieces of pineapple in the fried rice. Finished maybe half of it and threw the rest away. Very disappointed for $48.
We have ordered food before. None of our orders had any heat that was requested at medium heat.
Both orders were very mild with no heat.
They were very busy, but that is no excuse.
The Duck Pad Thai is delicious and substantial

Excellent authentic food. Loved the pad thai
Excellent food. Definitely worth getting the crab ragoon with the thai spice and loved my salad - sorry I forget the name but it was chicken and noodles. Delish! Tom yum soup was very good and the shrimp was excellent. Servers were very nice and friendly. A gem I am glad we got to visit!
If you're looking for a hidden gem on Venice Ave definitely come check out this place! They have the best Krab Rangoon. Shrimp pad Thai is also highly recommended.
It’s really authentic food. Really taste good. We will definitely come back again.
Servers are nice and friendly.
We did not wait long for our food, it came so fast!
I love the panang curry, the sweet owner, the cozy intimate, friendly vibe. I wish I lived closer! My favorite is the panang Duck,so perfectly crispy and tender!! The zucchini, cabbage, peppers, carrots are just so delicious in the panang curry!!
The portions are good and I like the vegetables they use because most places use just carrots
Food is fantastic and entrees are significant size but tonight after we ordered we waited and waited. Three other tables came in after us and got their meals before we did. We have never had this issue here before so hopefully it’s an anomaly.
Stopped for dinner upon recommendation from friends who live down here, was the closest to authentic Thai I've had stateside, Aloy Dee Mach Mach !!
Perfectly presented and delicious!
The best Thai around. Their duck is amazing. The service is super friendly and great. We will be back!
love noodles, choose tour own 🥵
If you are looking for Curry..this is not the Thai restaurant to try Curry......very. Bad...I try curry. From California Utah Arizona Carolina's and more places. And this one is the worst .but! Pad thai was good aa+. I try my husband dish. Love Curry..very disappointed.
So fast, quick and consistent! Love it. Owner is a strong women 💪 ✨️
We eat there at least once a week; I have been a patron for almost 20 years. I am celiac so have to maintain gluten free diet and must always be cautious of cross contamination. I am also vegan. I have never had an issue. The food is always very tasty, the staff and owner are warm, welcoming and very accommodating. Love this restaurant!
Food is very delicious. I love it.
Scrumptious food! Great atmosphere! Friendly staff! The owner went around to each table to chat with the patrons :-)
We have never had a bad meal from here. The service is excellent and the food is very authentic. Delicious. One of our favorite restaurants in all of Florida. Try the ground pork with rice and fried egg. We love the Thai Hot.
Update-the last few times we have ate here the food has lacked spice. I think too many people complained about the Thai Hot and now they won't cook it Thai Hot anymore.
I was one of three ladies who went for lunch. The owner lady is very rude to the customers (not just us, everyone) and the food is mediocre at best, but prices high. Volcano chicken had zero spice in it even though we ordered “medium spice”. Too much sugar. The “tempura chicken” was not tempura. It was soggy, lukewarm regular battered chicken. Not worth the money.
My first visit and I loved everything. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was lovely and the food was fantastic! I definitely plan to visit again this week.
I hate that I underestimated this place as it is located 8n a quiet strip on E Venice Ave. I have missed out on years of wonderful dinners.
BUYER BEWARE: Owner likes to make up her own rules, also, she will make you think you ordered more than you did. Happened to more than one person including myself. She will be very convincing, you are not the issue, she is.
Amazing family owned restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious, huge portions and the nicest family. Definitely recommend
There are better options in the area. It was tasteless and
The pad thai and drunken noodles are amazing, also love their "thai hot" spice option, hard to get Thai food with actual heat to it. Love it here.
Horrible food. The chicken tastes like leather. The spring rolls were awful and they added canned string beans to the curry. Do not order from this restaurant!
They are always great, good service and food. Like the Fish, crispy duck as well as their drunken noodles. Their calamari is good for an appetizer and their donuts for dessert.
Had roast duck and penang curry shrimp. Fresh rolls and a small salad.
Good but the sauce was too thin, too much water, not thick on both the duck and the curry. There was plenty of sauce. Just got back from 3 months in SE Asia, one month in Thailand. The sauces are thicken with something like corn starch.
Don't need more sauces just not so thin like a soup.
Great food
Dixons in the rough.
Best Thai food around. Great people.

Everything was delicious! I would go back again next time I’m in town.
Have eaten here in the past and the food was very good. Today we had Uber eats delivery and they up charged each item so our $40 meal was over $70 plus generous tip. That was not the fault of the restaurant, however, the food was so bad we couldn’t eat it. 2 appetizers and 2 entrees in the garbage. Will not eat here again nor will I order through Uber eats.
Service was terrible. Concentrating more on their take out orders while dine in customers sit for an hour waiting for their food. Plus the order was not what we ordered. Not going back. Then waited another 20 minutes for our bill.
Great food with wonderful flavor.
Loved it
Awesome awesome awesome my favorite Thai place
Service was perfect and the food (green curry for me, red for my husband) was outstanding! It was best I’ve ever had anywhere. The place was a bit noisy, but the packed dining room is telltale of a great place to eat. After your meal, you must treat yourselves to the fresh homemade coconut ice cream. Another best ever, anywhere.
Food was terrific some of the best Thai I've ever had! Also the service from Kwan and the whole team was great on a busy night!
Ordered take out. Busy place. My parents have eaten here prior and highly recommended it. Everything we ate was delicious.
All the food I've tried is very good. My fave is the Tom Yum soup. It's hard to find a good Tom Yum in this area and this didn't disappoint!
Their green curry is out of this world and their coconut soup is really good too. I heard another guest say it was the best thing he’d ever eaten when I was there. The ladies are so sweet who work there. Very enjoyable experience and beautiful inside.
I've eaten here before and it was pretty good. But tonight we had it delivered and it was tasteless. It was like the Pad Thai had no peanuts or sauce and the Pad Se Ew had no soy sauce. Maybe a new chef.
Good food and service - friendly and fast.
We ordered to go. The prices online are not correct. Our bill was $30 more because prices on Google menu are incorrect. The food itself wasn't that great. It was okay but I've had better Thai. Also my husband ordered coconut soup and it just tasted off all together.
My first experience with Thai Bistro was trying to order online but the site kept telling me something was wrong. Great food
The food was excellent but we ordered 2 cups of soup, and they brought the wrong soup, so we explained what we wanted (the original order) and they brought two bowls of the soup. I assumed they were just being nice because they screwed up the order. We also ordered a dumpling appetizer. The Soup we ordered was $8.95 a cup. Well they double charged us for bringing back the soup in a bowls. Ended up paying over 48 dollars because of (their) screw up. The person behind the counter who I assumed was the manager would not make this adjustment. I made my case in a respectful but insistent manner. No dice. She claimed I said bowls when they brought replacements for cups. If I did say bowls by accident they knew what the original order was and what I meant. So they made 20 dollars off us and lost two people that would have been regular customers. All this because of THEIR MISTAKE.
Thai Bistro is a culinary gem, offering an exquisite array of authentic Thai dishes that tantalize the taste buds. From the rich and fragrant curries to the perfectly balanced pad Thai, each bite is a journey through the vibrant flavors of Thailand. Great food and excellent service. I would highly recommend this restaurant! We always have a lovely meal here.
Everything here is delicious. Haven't had a bad dish yet.
Best Crab Rangoons I've ever had, been trying them all over the Country and can't find a better one.
Our “date night” dinner was ruined by our experience at this restaurant. The waitress continued to discuss her experiences in her country with a half drunk/overly obnoxious customer and when asked for a napkin, (which should have been a signal she was ignoring her customers) she grabbed another tables silverware sets and threw them on the table to supply the napkin request. Clearly a place to avoid if you want a pleasant dining experience.
I went to this restaurant about five years ago and wasnt impressed with the food or service.( which didnt have much flavor and the service was so slow .
The parking in this strip business complex is very limited .All the reasons to not go back right? So glad my daughter wanted to go somewhere else than our usual Thai restaurant. I decided to give Thai Bistro a second chance . Service was fantastic and the crab rangoon , garlic pepper chicken dish was great. My daughter got the noodle bowl with chicken. Had a wonderful flavor. The parking lot is still a pain but now its worth it .
Was hungry at work and decided to try this place! Great food, great atmosphere and reasonably priced!
I will keep this short and sweet this place is hands down one of the best places I've ever eaten and I've been here at least a dozen times now and I have never been disappointed I highly highly recommend
Picked up her to go order
On the menu menu and the prices are half of what they actually charge when you pick it up.
I called to ask about it and they said it’s Google problem not their problem.
So if you’re expecting to get the prices that you see here- you’re up for a surprise.
Delicious lunch, Vegetarian, & Vegan options. Large portions
Good food! But very Pricey!!!
The best thai food i have ever ate. Top notch service and prompt. I would recommend this place all day..
First time here…food was awesome!!!!!!!
Thai Bistro is a delightfully small intimate restaurant with excellent food prepared just right. I've been going there for years and never disappointed. Service is usually quick and priced competitively.
The real Thai experience! The food and staff are phenomenal! I will recommend this Thai restaurant to everyone I know!
Great food and service! The place was very clean! Lots of menu options!
Yup!💜🌈👔
Nice place to enjoy tasty Thai food. Will come back again
This is the most authentic Thai food we have found traveling around the US!
You come here only for the food.
I heard Spanish coming from the kitchen and whether there was a Thai or Hispanic cook it did not matter. Perfectly cooked dishes with amazing Thai flavors. I don't think you could go wrong with ordering anything there.
Prices and food true to the menu on their website.
Service is exactly as you read from the negative reviews. When their hours say open till 9 it means they want you out before 9 so plan accordingly. If by chance you run afoul of this unwritten law they will surely let you know. Unfortunately, I went a few minutes past 9 and didn't get to order the mango and sticky rice as my check was already on the table at 9.
None of the staff knows what's included in your dish based even on the menu's description which required a pow wow with the owner to confirm the menu was correct. The Thai egg dish was described as like a tortilla by the waitress. By the way, the bistro omelet was very small and expensive, but very good.
The spring rolls were very good but again, way too expensive for what you get.
We also got the sesame chicken which was a world apart from what you may get in nearly all American Chinese restaurants and just phenomenal, delicately fried and tender with a nice sweet sauce. Penang cury spot on. Happy fish was really good but eat as soon as it arrives at the table to prevent the crisp batter from getting soggy.
They provide less than a cup of rice and it is such a tiny portion making this act of stinginess infuriating. If you like your curry dishes on rice, plan for at least 1 additional tiny order per dish. $2.
Oh and just like the other reviews, they can't stand giving you extra clean plates or silverware. They don't understand the concept of a family sharing dishes and they cringe and fight back when you ask for serving spoons for each dish with a separate plate for each diner.
It's not the kind of attitude you would receive in Thailand although the food closely approaches the quality. Obviously the owners are Americanized and we are glad to have them here.
In spite of the cultural and language difficulties I loved the food and would go back in a heartbeat now that I'm better prepared to deal with the restaurants idiosyncrasies.
Very clean with better than average atmosphere & helpful servers. Our food was very nice though flavors were not quite 5 star. We would dine at Thai Bistro again.
Love this place!
Excellent, spicy Pad Krapow and delicious sweet mango sticky rice.
Wonderful food and service.
Used to love going here years ago but something really changed for the worse with both the food and the service. A major turnoff for me at any restaurant is feeling rushed. Went there recently with a party of 3, and appetizers came out with the main course. The place only had one other couple dining at the time, so what was the rush? Pad Thai, a dish that no Thai restaurant should screw up - came out drenched in a brown sauce, extremely sweet and with zero spice in spite of asking for 'medium-hot'. Virtually unrecognizable compared to the pad Thai they used to serve.
Delicious. I recommend
Food is jiexcellent
Every dish we had here was incredible! The pad Thai, amazing chicken, and the Thai donuts were all fresh with delicious flavors. I’d eat here again and order the exact same thing! Our server Paew was kind and thorough. Overall we had a great experience and I highly recommend this restaurant.
Since i was there last, at least 5 years ago, they have drastically improved. Remodeled and really good fresh food. I was pleasantly suprised!
Unfortunately, there is not a rating above 5 star. This place is perfect in every way. The food is extraordinary! The service was exceptional, they really paid close attention to me. It is a calm, clean and beautiful place inside. Love it!
Good food 👍
Very good food
Best Thai food in the area with very welcoming staff.
Just picked up Druken noodles, Woon-sen, basil rice, sesame chicken and the combo platter. 5*****, excellent meal, so good!
Our go to Thai! Love this place!
Best Thai in town! "Thai hot" kicks it up if you like spicy!
I have been going to this restaurant for 17 years and they always have fantastic food. Whenever my husband and I go on vacation we always compare other Thai restaurants to Thai Bistro standards. I love the Chicken Red Curry as well as the Chicken Panang Curry. My husband loves the Basil Fried Rice. Their thai tea is smokey and very good. This place is authentic and the owners are very nice. I would love nothing more than for them to open up a location in North Port.
excellent duck soup and pad thai. a little gem of a family-owned restaurant.
Mediocre. Got a side order of pineapple rice, looked nothing like the photo and charged us for a full dinner. Also got the drunken noodles..not good either. We got ours to go do maybe that's why
Great food. We order every week and the food is always great(pad thai, curry, etc) , and they have it ready usually in 15-20 minutes. Small orders, sometimes 5-10minutes. Owner lady is also very nice and accommodating. Remembers my preference, too. Recommend!
Vegetables were very fresh, hot pepper chicken was good. Place is small part of strip mall next to great German deli
Fabulous Thai food and they accommodated our large group during dinner and back for lunch the next day! Great food and great service - highly recommend stopping in when in Venice.
Food tasty best Thai inVenice area
1st waitress (think she was mgr or Owner) was curt, no personality. Order taking waitress was very sweet and great personality. Got sick w/ the food. Wife enjoyed her meal.
First let me say this is the cleanest restaurant you will find with incredible food.
Sorry I didn't take a picture. Had pad thi for lunch ,very good.
They have the best Thai food we have had in Florida.
Not for me I guess
Great food
Nice place
Authentic Thai food
Carefully prepared
Served with a happy smile
Local family business
Every customer is treated with respect
Food very tasty,. Extensive menu. Service was attentive and friendly.
Delicious food!! Little pricey but definitely worth it!
Thai Bistro is great Kwan is a great host and everyone is glad she has made it through all of the terrible things that have happened lately so go see her and enjoy.
One of the best places to eat in Venice!!!
Fantastic food & excellent service
This is the best Thai Food Restaurant anywhere in the United States. Seriously. Clean, Excellent service, its hot, fresh and made with love and pride..my absolute favorite..i haven't found any Thai food that compares at all. The owner is awesome and the staff are sweet too. GO THERE AND ENJOY...
Bad service Not a nice atmosphere. Rude staff didn't want to give new setup for main course. I was told us the fork from your appetizers in an ignorant manner. Food cold Server couldn't get us out quick enough looking at his watch as it was half hour from closing time. Over priced
Great food. I hit them every time I am in Venice. Great mango and sticky rice when in season.
Everything was delicious!
Shrimp Tom Yum, Chicken Drunken Noodles, Fresh Rolls and Sautéed Chicken Broccoli & Mushrooms for two! The very finest service and most delicious Thai recipes! We love Thai Bistro and have enjoyed coming back for many years now...
Great place. Great people. Great food. Absolutely would go back. A whole seperare menu dedicated to vegan meals!
My family and I have been going to Thai Bistro for 10 years! Absolutely love everything I’ve tried. Best pad Thai and excellent sautéed dishes. The owner and the entire waitstaff are so sweet and kind.
Great flavor
Always an amazing experience. Fresh ingredients and fun dishes with adjustable heat levels. Kwan and her amazing staff provide top notch service to match the food.
This is THE Thai restaurant in Venice.
Fantastic
This has become our go to for Thai food after trying several other options in the area. The Tum Yum is our favorite and their spring rolls are fresh and have a snap when you bite into them. The curry selections are delicious and fresh. Their house specialty salad and peanut dressing is a must to try. I haven't tried anything that I wouldn't recommend to someone.
Love love love....
Great Food. Super friendly staff.
This is literally the best restaurant I have ever been to. Been going for a few years and they never disappoint. So good for vegans too! Thank you guys for everything!!
First time tonight we tried this place. It will be the last time. Tasteless food, small
Portions, overpriced and incorrect order. Too many Thai restaurants in the area to waste your money here.
Thai Bistro serves delicious authentic food consistently. Quick service, reasonable prices, and a wonderful customer experience keep me returning.
Excellent Thai food. Best in Venice. Very authentic dishes. Small dinning area but very comfortable seating and don’t feel cramped. Reasonable prices. Amazing flavors.
Our dinner was tasty and deliciously prepared with fresh ingredients. The owner and staff were attentive and friendly. The service was excellent.
I tried the drunken noodles Thai hot level and it was delicious! I had been craving for some good spicy food and this hit the right spot for me! I will definitely be back to try other things
First time visit and I was excited for great Thai food but that is not what we got. My duck was way overcooked and my husband's chicken was dry and chewy. We won't be back. There are other good Thai options in the area.
Great food some of The best curry i have had and great portions
Perfectly priced food, amazing portion sizes. And the quality is beyond. The best part is they have an entire separate vegan menu. So all vegans please check this place out. You will. It be disappointed. They have different levels of hot and if you love a good kick than get "hot" or if you are really about spicy food then get Thai hot!
The food is fresh, the staff is friendly and helpful!!! Thank you for having an entire separate vegan menu!!!!
