Basic eatery offering classic Thai & Asian cuisine plus daily lunch specials in a spartan setting.
Came here one evening with my husband to celebrate Valentine's day a day late. There was only one other party in the restaurant yet the waitress took FOREVER. She kept talking to the other customers. When we first came in, we sat down and waited several minutes for her to finish her conversation with the other party. My husband walked over and got us menus because she was taking so long. It's just really rude and disrespectful, there was hardly anyone else in the restaurant but she took her time with everything and barely checked on us. It's too bad because the food was delicious!
My friends and I have been going to Mango Tree for many years. (Around 10). I recently turned my husband onto it and he loves it as well.
The food is outstanding. The service is fantastic. It is family owned by a single mother.
Ever since the pandemic, it has struggled. They do a fair takeout business but we all need to jump back in and tell all of our friends. I get the Thai cashew nut which is great.
At lunch, you can get a luncheon entree which comes with a cup of their daily soup, a small salad with peanut dressing, a mini fried spring roll, and your entree with rice.
It is fantastic. You can go from 0 spice up to as spicy as you wish.
It is a great place and the prices are fair. Gather your friends and try it out. I promise you WILL NOT REGRET IT.
I am Brazilian, and many Americans when living in Brazil say we treat food as a sentiment! There are certain food that for me is the same as my mom’s lap affection, others make me cry because it reminds me of my grandma who passed away, I’ve cried in the middle of a fancy restaurant because the food reminded me of my grandma smell! All that to say that mango tree food for me is a comfort, it’s my favorite restaurant. My husband lost his job and we’ve been struggling with money for a while, someone in the church blessed us with a gift card and I found out there was a bit left on it, so I went to mango tree to feel a little better and order a lunch dish to go, before paying I told her I didn’t have money for tip because we were struggling and that was a gift from someone, I asked for prayers for that but then my gift card didn’t work and the owner there know me for years, I asked her to try a few times and it didn’t work, then I told her I’d pay with another account of mine and she let me have it for free! I almost cried, not only they serve me comfort and kindness but they are also generous beyond understanding and I wasn’t expecting for that. Food is FRESH, made with love! I have witnessed them eating the same food they serve to clients several times, that’s a great sign, when people in a restaurant eat what they serve you know they trust what they are making for people, I want to honor them for so many years making me feel loved with their food but more than that, for praying for my family household and be generous with those who struggle! I simply LOVE MANGO TREE, thank you!
This restaurant is amazing! The only thing that keeps this place from big business is where it's located. The moment you walk in, you are greeted loudly with a 😊smile. We ordered to go and got the Pad Thai Lunch Combo. It comes with pad Thai, one egg roll, soup, and salad! ALL PARTS OF THE MEAL WAS BOMB 💣 ! The soup was tantalizing, the egg rolls were alright, but the sauce capitalized on it, and I've never had a salad with that flavor. They give the most pad Thai I've ever received for a lunch combo, and if you look at my page. I have gone to over Thai restaurants. I included pictures and a review of each food item so you can listen before you buy it. Meal cost was $15.70.

I love this place. If there was a loyalty rewards program I’d be earning top points!
The curry, pad see ew and pad Thai are my favs. Highly recommend!!!
Only problem is they don’t open til 5.

The staff were so good to us. We came on short notice with a group of about 22-23 people. Their Shrimp Asparagus was a healthy and very delicious choice.
Best Thai restaurant northside the green curry with chicken and shrimp is the best I’ve had in the city. The pad Krapow and pad Kee mao are both also very good, and do not leave without trying the spicy cheese rolls.
Best Thai restaurant in the Northwest/spring area!!! I'm from Southeast Asia and Thai food is soul food for me. I have eaten at most thai restaurants around the area or wherever I am I try a new Thai restaurant. This one is by far the best here. Their Thai papaya salad is authentic! Pad krapow with ground meat is authentic! Green curry fried rice was perfect. Spice levels are true to southeast Asian standards. Overall this restaurant is authentic and delicious! Service was wonderful fast and polite. While I'm living in spring this will be my go-to restaurant!
This place has the most amazing food. Mrs Tai is so friendly and kindhearted. She truly appreciated the business and went out of her way to make sure everyone eating here is happy! Try this place out!
Pad Thai was absolutely disgusting. Completely inedible. Noodles were just a sauceless, limey mush. Zero spice whatsoever. Arguably the worst dinner I’ve ever purchased, which is disappointing considering how expensive it was.
Excellent food, great service, nice people. All good things to say about this spot. The sauce is so good, you’ll want a second straw. If you haven’t visited the Mango Tree, stop missing out. Highly recommended the Pad Kee Mao, Ka Pao Basil, Spicy Ginger, and the Orange Chicken.
Love their chicken Pad Thai and their curry. Don't forget the Thai Iced Tea 😄
Wonderful quick service.
Excellent food and service. Been going here for over 8 years mostly take out. Great Thai food. Love the curry especially green curry and pineapple fried rice .
We get office lunch here once a week, always fresh hot flavorful food, never any complaints. 10/10
very clean, the food is amazing- especially the dumplings and spring rolls, the food doesn’t take long at all and the staff was incredibly nice.
This restaurant has, by far, the best Thai food I’ve ever had.
My daughter and I always enjoy the shrimp and chicken with mild thai sauce. They serve with white rice. We always add spring rolls to complement our purchase. My son introduced us to Mango Tree about 2 years ago. He went for lunc at least twice a week while working in area. We are hooked, ever since. Very friendly staff.
The food is remarkable! The wait staff are very nice. The prices are reasonable.
Great, but the "shitake" mushrooms were portabello
I like soooo much❤️❤️❤️ their food is amazing and amaaaaaaaziiinng
One of my favorite Thai places!! The food is always delicious, and this is my favorite place for Massaman Curry and Tom Kha Gai.
Mediocre bland food (spice level 4) haphazardly cooked. Spring rolls were most probably bought at Costco and cooked. Not worth another visit. I still prefer Penang on 1960.
Oh my gosh, you will never regret coming here. It is the nicest best tasting Thai food most authentic and delicious that I’ve had in so many years. I love it.
Great Thai food. Food and service were excellent. Panang curry and cream cheese rolls were amazing and the owner is a very nice woman who knows how to run a restaurant.
The red curry is outstanding!
Beautiful restaurant, excellent service, marvelous staff. Very friendly and great place to eat and the food is so good and delicious and fresh
This is your typical strip center restaurant from the outside, but don’t miss this one! The food is outstanding! I had the Ka Pao Basil entree and a bowl of Tom Kha Gai soup and they were both excellent choices! My wife had the Spicy Ginger entree along with the same soup and she loved it. We got a 2 on the spicy scale, and it was pretty spicy for us but we couldn’t put our spoons down. It was sooo good! Give this place a try, service was also excellent.
Loved the pad Thai with shrimp and perfect sweet rice (Mango out of season Right now). A bit expensive but isn't everything now?
This is our favorite Thai food restaurant in the area. The food is fantastic and the workers are so sweet.
Food is flavorful, good Thai. Serving size is conservative. Spicy ginger was wonderfully different!
Overall good place. Server was a touch surly, and the food a bit too salty but certainly serviceable if you are in the area and need Thai.
Thai restaurants vary widely in taste and quality. This is one of the best.
one of my favorite places
Really good food! I've never been here, but a friend recommended the pad see ew noodles and they melted in my mouth. So good! Will definitely be back to try more!
Great Thai food. Love it!
never disappoints
very good and filling
great atmosphere and nice people
Fantástico
My wife and I visited Mango tree with some friends on a double date. We had the red curry and Pad Thai. We also tried the deep fried tofu.
The environment was basic, but nice. It was clean and presentable also. The staff was friendly and helpful both with food and other requests. They even changed the channel on the tv to watch the Astros play.
Dinner was good. Not fantastic, but good. The curry was great! I liked it. The Pad Thai was weird, maybe because it was missing the peanut sauce (which was requested on the side but we didn’t get).
I don’t see myself returning, mainly because it isn’t in a place I go to regularly.
great place to eat
Love the food and services

Food is always good with friendly and attentive staff
Best Thai I ever had! Yellow curry, Tom yum soup and Thai pepper steak are our favorites. Minus one star due to recent increase in price and taking a long time to answer the phone when ordering takeout. Good friendly customer service when picking up order.
The food was amazing! Took the staff a little bit to acknowledge us after sitting but overall the experience was wonderful.
We tried Mango Tree for the first time a couple of months ago. We dined at the restaurant and were very happy with what we ordered: ginger chicken and green curry chicken. It was very delicious and generous portions for the price. It was two of us and we had full belly’s plus plenty to take home. If I did this review then, I would have given it a 5. However we ordered the same dishes last week off Uber eats and the quality and portions were nothing close to what we got at the restaurant. The green curry was mostly liquid with hardly any meat or veg and the ginger chicken was barely enough for one persons serving which was disappointing.
Great food and service! Our go-to local Thai spot.
The owner is very sweet.
First time to try Mango Tree. Family owned restaurant with friendly staff and good service. Food was great and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.
We love this place, quality of food is amazing! Please never change it!
The most unsatisfactory thai that I have ever tasted. Not got not authentic!
Order was correct, good portions, good presentation and on-time. However, it must be under different ownership because everything tasted different and not in a good way. The orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken came with what appeared to be a bowl of thin soup to pour over your chicken. The yuki udon (my normal meal) was near flavorless and I also asked for spicy 3 and didn't taste any spice. The curry puffs were terrible. The sweet mango rice tasted okay. The tom yum soup tasted the best (and the same), but our containers were mostly liquid.
This has been my favorite Thai restaurant for many years, but I won't be going back anytime soon unless it is for Tom Yum when I'm sick.
I love this place... the food tastes so "clean" and is delicious. And, you can't beat the price!
Good was amazing and also had good service.
Excellent Food, Excellent Staff my new Thai restaurant. Beautiful decorations and very welcome environment.
Food is good but the incessant Jesus freak music and disgusting Christian overtones are a real downer. Never coming back
Absolutely incredible! First order, can't believe I live 0.5 miles from this restaurant and have never odered before. Yellow Curry tonight and it's delicious!
Update: The Penang curry is delicious, too.
Great food, and you get a lot for the price. We loved the Pad Thai especially.
Pleasant service and food was served hot and delicious even though they were very busy. Every table was filled. Unfortunately, for people on their lunch break, they were understaffed for how busy they were and it took longer for ordered to be filled.
Food was delcious, service was great. The only thing i didn't like was that we were 6 people and they automatically charged is 18%, and if I didn't pay attention they added a line that said gratuity , so i would ended up paying 36%
This location is so nice, the staff is so friendly, the prices are right, you get a lot of food for your money, and the food is always on point! So fresh and such a relaxing experience to visit. My husband and I visit this location regularly. Highly recommend!
I went to this place when I moved To Houston a year ago, since then every Saturday I go and enjoy of the best food ever, it’s my favorite restaurant now because food is just amazing, clean and healthy! Everything you look at is clean and you can feel everything is very hygienic
I had the red curry with chicken. Great taste and everything seemed fresh. Too often my food is served barely warm. This was hot! I had to wait a bit to eat it. Loved it.
Awesome food and service! Nice servings and great fresh food! Had to go twice in 1 week🤦🏾♀️🤷🏿♀️
I’ve been coming here for years. It’s never disappointed! Food is always fresh, flavorful and spicy! It’s definitely no frills though. I always get to go.
this place has the best curry i have ever tasted, super good pad thai, mango sticky rice and coconut shrimp!!! the service is wonderful and the food incredible. would 10/10 recommend to everyone!!
I had the Yellow Curry. It's delicious.
The dine in portions are very large.
We both tried different dishes from our usual selection - no matter the choice, it is always good. Sticky Rice with mango is a shareable dessert if they have ripe mangos. Service is very friendly.
Not much for this type of food. The service was fine but the Pad Thai was amazing; really opened up my tastes and mind.
My number one go to is Pad Kee Mao with chicken. Mango Tree gets it right every time. This restaurant is my favorite option for Thai food.
All was good.
Disappointed. We used to get the shrimp and crab fried rice for $17’ish. Went tonight and ordered the rice and dumplings, it was $30!!! Came home and checked the menu online and the rice went up to $21.95!!!
I usually don’t complain about restaurant pricing, but this cost skyrocketed. The quality of the food was also not good. We are used to their rice being fresh and with very distinct flavor - this rice was mushy with a weird flavor.
I doubt we go back - and it’s a shame because we’ve been coming here for 5 years. 😢
The meat tasted old and fell apart immediately if you try to pick it up.
Some ingredients was bitter.
It used to be good but I will not come back.
If I could I would rate them minus 5 stars.
First time and never again. Do you want to pay for rice? Go ahead… lunch size are ridiculously small for their price. Soft spring rolls are nothing but OLD lettuce (no rice noodles at all) or cilantro. Save your self a headache. Go somewhere else.
When I called back to see if they can fix it. Hmm
There is no language barrier it’s ATTITUDE! They rather hang up the phone…
Great little spot for lunch
Food was phenomenal. Stopped with the family for sisters bday and absolutely going back. Owner was a sweetheart.
How palatable the food is depends on the chef... Usually it's okay, but eh? People are nice though.
Lots of food for the price.
The service was really bad. The food was good though. We got basil fried rice, green curry fried rice, pad se ew, and Tom kha gai.
Food really good! Staff is really friendly. Best thai tea I have ever had. Definitely recommend to anyone who loves thai food👍👍👍
Delicious food! Great portion sizes and tasty food. Recommend the Mango salad and Curry puffs and any of the fried rices.
The pad see ewe was lacking flavor, but cheese rolls are the best
Awesome food always enjoy having lunch here
The best Thai food in Houston. Love the green curry
Service is excellent.
Food is good, used to go to the downtown location during work.
Called in my order at 12:06 and was told my order would be ready in 10-15 minutes. Arrived at 12:19 to pick up and they collected my payment. Was told it would be 5 more minutes. I did not leave with my food until 12:35. I feel as though they don’t start cooking your order until you pay at the register. The dinning area was not full and most had already received their plates when I walked in.
Great little Thai restaurant. We ordered the pad Thai and yellow curry. I recommend both dishes.
Good place to Hangout. Well maintained! Food is very tasty. Service is extraordinary.
Food was delicious and service was A1. Would definitely recommend.
Love how friendly the ladies are here, the food is delicious and I have to recommend mango and sticky rice, great dessert. It’s the family restaurant you want to visit over and over
This place is awesome! We visited the downtown location frequently and were very bummed when it closed. This location is totally worth the drive though. The spicy egg rolls are amazing! The chicken fried rice is always a favorite with our group too. The owner and staff are helpful and friendly.
Excellent dining experience! I've lived right down the street from this little gem and in an effort to support more local businesses, I decided to finally give them a try. The food was fresh and service exceptional. It was evident that the dishes are prepared with love because the presentation was PERFECT! The owner was very sweet and engaged with the customers even recommending the delicious dish I chose. We'll definitely be back soon!
Delicious
Very good food
I come here often. This place rocks!
Best Thai restaurant in the area.
Decided to try it again after so many years. There was a bit of a wait, but well worth it! Food was good. Will be coming back!
Great local restaurant for good Thai food. Highly recommended. Good menu, good prices.
This was our first time ordering here. We got takeout and ordered the Vegetable Party meatless, Orange Chicken and Pineapple rice. Staff was very welcoming. Food was really hot and fresh. Sauce on the Vegetable Party was really tasty and well seasoned nothing overcooked. And my husband, he’s a orange chicken expert 😂 said was the best Orange Chicken, crispy enough and the sauce that comes separately it’s amazing delicious 😋 we definitely will place a order again. Thank you guys.
Loved the appetizers! Calamari and cheese rolls. Entrées were very good.
The food was decent. I had recently visited Lotus of Siam in Vegas and wanted the same food. It was not as good as Lotus.
Great Thai food. Many choices to choose on their menu at reasonable prices. Causal dress.
I had the nam tok salad and I do think about it every one in a while. My only issue was it needed another dish to balance it out it was crazy acidic.
Absolutely a go to favorite during my work week. As a group we frequently purchase from here. The staff is amazing and kind, our orders are always correct and delicious
This restaurant is a local favorite of mine, and I love Thai food. I recommend their pineapple fried rice, pad thai and yellow curry. After Covid-19 hit, I noticed that the restaurant has been struggling a bit with the quality of their food. Unfortunately there was an incident where they accidentally put double the salt in my curry instead of salt and sugar. It was inedible and I had to return it. They quickly made me a new one and even gave me a complimentary reusable mask, which was very thoughtful. The owner is a lovely lady. I love pad kee mao (drunken noodles) and I try to order it at every Thai restaurant, which is how I judge them. However, the last 2 times I ordered their noodle dish (one pad thai and one drunken noodle), the spice and flavor was bland and disappointing. I love this mom and pop shop and will continue to support them. I just hope they go back to producing the quality dishes they once made a year ago.
Wonderful food! My favorite Thai restaurant !
Great food!
DELICIOSO.
Ordered the Panang Curry for pickup. It was delicious!! The serving was enough for two meals and made an awesome lunch the next day.
We have ordered from here for years and always really enjoy it. The PadThai is flavorful, chicken egg rolls tasty and the portions are large. My husband loves the PadSeEw and the TomYum soup (excuse my spelling)...... tonight I ordered the BasilBamboo with combination meat. SO GOOD!! Order it now!!
You can’t go wrong with anything here. It’s in a small strip center in a suburban neighborhood-it has sustained for years -but with Covid I’m sure their traffic has slowed. So go give them a try :)
Very good!
This was our first time ordering here. We got takeout and ordered the Vegetable Party with chicken and Jasmine Rice, and the Chicken Pad Thai. It was ready when we got there. Staff was very friendly and it seems like they are working to keep everyone safe considering COVID. Food was hot and fresh. Sauce on the Vegetable Party was really tasty and had a nice variety of fresh vegetables that were not over cooked, which was nice. Pad Thai was good. Nice portion sizes.
The best around
Love it here. Best fried rice. Great lunch special
The food was delicious.
I love their food
Mango Tree Thai Bistro is delicious. I love all of the food I have tried. The lunch special are excellent. The price is great and the staff is friendly. It's a great restaurant, I highly recommend it!
