This is a very popular place. The food is good as u can see

Diner Review №2

For VEGETARIANS: Amazing Thai food, one of the best I’ve tried in Houston. Very accommodating to dietary restrictions and able to customize order to try original meat dishes with a vegetarian option. Food tastes delicious and hearty, staff is friendly, and atmosphere is cozy. Becoming my go to Thai food restaurant.

Diner Review №3

Everything Ive tried so far has been very good . I’ve gotten a friend hooked .

Nua Thai Restaurant is an absolute delight! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a clean and inviting atmosphere, with the soothing aroma of lemongrass circulating through the air. The customer service was spot on—attentive, friendly, and efficient. And the food? Absolutely delicious! Every dish was bursting with authentic flavors and made with the freshest ingredients. This place is a must-visit for anyone who loves Thai cuisine. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Favorite Thai restaurant
The only downside is parking lot is too small.

Diner Review №10

This place is only a few blocks from my office, so I thought I'd try it out. I have been twice now and the food is so good. Service can be slow, but the place is usually packed at lunchtime. I still make it backbto the office in an hour. Again, the food is just really good, so I'll keep coming back now that I have found this place.

Diner Review №11

Good food and excellent service
Nikki is very friendly and always with a welcome smile

Diner Review №12

NUA Thai is a fairly young establishment (established 2020). It is a medium sized restaurant with many two to four seaters. The restaurant is clean and has very simple decoration.

I had the tofu pad woon sen while my partner got the crispy chicken fried rice. The portions were generous and the food were flavorful. Service was great, and staff were friendly.

The only downside is the tiny parking lot in front of the restaurant. I would avoid going during peak hours.

Diner Review №13

incredible food and all taylor swift playing in the restaurant. #vibes

Diner Review №14

Done-in experience, was okay. Had to ask for a couple of items twice but overall staff were friendly. We ordered the crispy chicken skin the protein itself lacted seasoning need some salt and pepper at least. The sauce that came with it made up for the lack of seasoning. I ordered the chicken lettuce wrap and my daughter ordered the red curry. Both were delicious - and plenty of food well worth the price. The mango tea was a tad too sweet for me but my daughter loved it. We also split the mango sticky rice (it was enough for two) it was delicious not overly sweet just enough. Overall good experience.

Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had! This place is absolutely delicious, bringing incredible, big flavors despite its small size. The menu offers a great variety, and everything I tried was fantastic.

From the moment you walk in, the customer service is outstanding. The greeters and hosts are incredibly nice, patient, and professional. They even offer great menu recommendations, making the experience even better.

It’s best to place your order to go since it’s a small spot, but if you plan to dine in, I recommend going during early mornings or lunchtime to avoid the rush. The food is packed with authentic flavor, and I’ll definitely be back. This has become one of my top favorite spots!

Diner Review №18

It’s simply the best Thai food…Annie always takes care of us would not be the same without her smiling charming face. we tried others that come close but the quantity of food just isn’t there…or they get the order wrong NUA Thai is really good food nice quantity…I eat the curry every time.

Diner Review №19

Food was amazing. Recommend. Nice place for lunch.

Diner Review №20

The best Thai restaurant in Houston!
I will go here once a week for the chicken pad Thai, the Brussels sprouts are also fantastic!

My only critique is parking! The lot is always full of delivery drivers that take up multiple spots. The lot next door charges 7$ and that’s super annoying.

Wait in the lot adjacent to the restaurant for the delivery driver to leave and take their spot, it takes 5 mins but you don’t have to pay a shady passport office to park.

Diner Review №21

Very good food. Enjoy the place a lot and the service is great

Diner Review №22

Diner Review №23

It was a delightful dining experience. As a Thai native, authentic Thai cuisine is often difficult to find in Houston; however, this establishment offers Hainan chicken, known as Khao Man Gai in Thai, a personal favorite from my visits to Thailand. We look forward to returning to sample additional menu items.

Diner Review №24

Best Basil Fried Rice I have had in Houston!

Diner Review №25

I really do love this place. The first time I had it was on DoorDash, and I immediately thought to myself about how I didn’t find this place sooner. The Drunken Noodles is by far my favorite dish ever. The flat noodles mixed with chili peppers and fresh basil and tomato pieces are delicious and juicy. I have always ordered from them and decided to take my friends out during the houston restaurant week. I was so impressed by the quality of every single dish that came out. The restaurant was packed for dine in and had a consistent line of people picking up take out. My friends and I got a variety of dishes, with the chicken wraps being surprisingly so tasty and a hit for everyone. Of course I also ordered the drunken noodles. Whenever I am craving a comfort meal, I will always order from here. It’s just amazing. The quality, the flavor, and the consistency of the food. It’s an outstanding restaurant.

Diner Review №26

Nua Thai is hands down one of our favorite spots for Thai food, especially when we’re downtown. It’s always one of our go-to places! On nights when traffic is too much, I’ll swing by for takeout and enjoy a beer at the bar while I wait—it’s the perfect way to wind down.

The food here is absolutely delicious. I usually can’t resist getting two entrées for myself. The Penang Curry and Pad Thai are nothing short of phenomenal, packed with incredible flavor and perfectly cooked every time.

Whether dining in or grabbing takeout, Nua Thai always hits the spot. Highly recommend it for anyone who loves authentic and flavorful Thai food!

Diner Review №27

Absolutely delicious!! Cashier was patient and friendly. Everything was amazing!

Diner Review №28

Diner Review №29

I came in on a Friday at 9:00. For a Togo order. I changed my mind at 9:10 and decided to eat in. They told me that they close soon so I can’t eat there! It was 20 minutes till close! I left. Didn’t order Togo. These people didn’t want my money so I went elsewhere.

Diner Review №30

Pad Thai better than see ew (nothing wrong with see ew). Medium is just barely too spicy, try mild next time.

Diner Review №31

The food at NUA Thai is excellent, service is beyond and high standards and the atmosphere is quaint, comfortable and friendly. Prices are reasonable also.

Diner Review №32

✅Pros: Food was yummy and well priced. I got the yellow curry and the portion was big enough to have leftovers the next day. The staff was attentive and kind.

❌Cons: Weird smell. Not the cutest place but not dingy either. Parking around this area can be difficult.

Diner Review №33

Diner Review №34

The food was delicious!! Large portions & cooked to perfection. The wait staff was very friendly, helpful & attentive! Great music also! I highly recommend Nua Thai Restaurant!!🙂

Diner Review №35

Diner Review №36

A medium size restaurant, feels very cozy.

Diner Review №37

The food here is absolutely delicious! The service is extremely underwhelming though. They are far busier than they can handle on most days with one staffer literally stuck answering the phone. Parking here is also nuts on nights/weekends.

Diner Review №38

Tom kha kai so so good

Diner Review №39

Hands down my favorite thai spot. Everything I've had I've enjoyed. All the food is well seasoned. I usually try a new dish every time I go in and everything I've had has been delicious. The customer service is wonderful. It's usually the same people but they are always extremely nice even when its packed. We did have a bit of a mishap one time( mistake on their end) the waiter even offered a free appetizer but it wasn't necessary. The only thing I will complain about is the parking. The parking lot is super small and since they tend to get a lot of online orders. The ubers/doordashers park anywhere and block off the entrance.

Diner Review №40

Love the food!!! The Coconut Shrimp is the best I've ever had!!!

Diner Review №41

This was our go-to Thai spot for awhile but I’m looking for another spot because they are so unprofessional and rude. The last 2 times I went to pick up my food, the front desk people did not listen when I gave my name. I sat and waited 10 minutes for some food THAT WAS READY WHEN I GOT THERE. I timed when I ordered the food and when I went to pick it up because they have terrible parking. So it really sucks to have to wait for food thinking your car is going to get towed any moment. Will not be back until you figure out how to listen to people or start using a numbering system. GFY

Diner Review №42

Diner Review №43

Their food is SO good! I love eating here any chance I get.

Diner Review №44

Diner Review №45

First time here , food was great! Service was slow since then seemed understaffed with the servers.

Diner Review №46

The Thai fried rice is my all time favorite comfort food

Diner Review №47

Ordered veggie pad Thai. I received pad Thai with a side of tasteless steamed vegetables instead. What???!

Diner Review №48

overall the the food is tasty tho. crispy chicken and well-seasoned fried rice. but it’s kinda too sweet for me

Diner Review №49

Nua Thai was amazing! The service was great and the food was super tasty. I got the Khao Soi Kai and it was so flavorful, will definitely come back!

Diner Review №58

Mango rice is everything omg!

Diner Review №59

As i am writing this review, I am in the restaurant and I am so pleased with the quality of the food, the timing in which the food came out, and the lovely service. This is a hidden gem and this will NOT be the last time I will be here. They will hate to see me coming❤️❤️😈

Diner Review №68

Good service. I had the orange chicken with white rice as the side and I ordered some chicken dumplings. Food was delicious but I can’t still get over just how good even the white rice was. Will definitely order again from here.

Diner Review №69

Tried a bunch of stuff and all were good. Service was great too. I really liked the kha soi or whatever it was called. Not sure if other Thai places have that.

Diner Review №70

Cup of Tom Kha soup was enough.

Diner Review №71

Got food poisoning. Had chicken and mango sticky rice.

Diner Review №72

Place hours are not correct. They say they close at 3, but they won’t serve you if you get there at 2:50. Ha

Diner Review №73

Found this spot by chance and I am glad I did. A nice clean place with really good food . I am impressed and that doesn't come easy.

Diner Review №74

We have had it several times now and it is consistently delicious!

Diner Review №75

Diner Review №76

Love LOVE this place.. a hidden gem for sure. Green curry is AMAZING! The spicy salmon as well!!

Diner Review №77

Diner Review №78

Don't judge a restaurant by its outer walls!

Surprised by the depth of flavour but texture (lumpy noodles) needs work.

Attentive and friendly service in a cozy atmosphere.

Diner Review №79

Food is always top notch! Highly recommend the chicken pad Thai and the yellow curry. Friendly and attentive staff!

Diner Review №80

The place stinks

Diner Review №81

1st time trying this place and the food was delicious 😋. The service was a little slow, bringing out the food to everyone at the table, but it was Friday night, and it was really busy. I give it an 8 out of 10

Diner Review №82

I had the spring rolls. Not good at all.

Diner Review №83

Best Thai food I’ve ever had!! Omgoodness the Pad Thai is amazing!! And the brussel sprouts are genius!! Last night was my first time ever eating their orange chicken and fried rice but it was also super delicious. I will most definitely be returning!

Diner Review №84

Food was incredible and the service was so kind and fast! The menu is so diverse with options that I would love to come back and try them all. Spice was hot but very pleasant. Also, the best green Thai tea I’ve had!

Diner Review №85

This spot is def in my top 3! Parking is hell though

Diner Review №86

Stopped here for the first time during restaurant week and I enjoyed everything I had. The soup tasted authentic and the rice was delicious.

Diner Review №87

This place is soooooo dirty. After I saw the condition of this place and how nasty the kitchen was, I left immediately.

Diner Review №88

Diner Review №89

Diner Review №90

The food was really good. It's a little fusion of Thai with other Asian cuisines. I only tried one dish so I can't speak for all items. I got the Garlic and Pepper dish. The portion size was very good with lots of great flavor. I had to request additional fried garlic, and then it was perfect. They still need to work on the smell inside, apparently the plumbing had issues.

Diner Review №91

Diner Review №92

Awesome spot. Drunken noodles are fantastic! Beware the spice levels here are authentic. Order mild if you can't hang with a high spice level. No shame in ordering a lower spice level. The flavors are worth being able to taste. Service was fantastic. Parking was a little tight but there is ample street parking and a nearby garage if you have trouble finding a spot. Definitely spot in for an authentic bite of Thai Food!

Diner Review №97

Great food. Quaint set up. Recommend! Limited parking but worth figuring it out if you are craving some Thai food.

Diner Review №98

The food is fresh and delicious. The mango ice tea is worth the price, The garlic edamame is fire! So good. The tofu is well prepared. The only downfall is the parking. Not enough.

Diner Review №99

Diner Review №100

A first impression is a lasting one, I'm very impressed I must say. Crab fried rice was a 10/10 . The price is over the top for the portion size but its great ,will return.

Diner Review №101

Thai iced tea FOR SURE!! Had the Beef Drunken Noodles 🍜 😋.
And of coz Mango Sticky Rice!!!

Diner Review №102

Crab fried rice is so yummy 😋

Diner Review №103

For years i said I would stop but did not. Boy,was I missing out. The chicken wraps are my favorite.

Diner Review №104

Diner Review №105

Had a layover in Houston and stopped in. This restaurant is so good. Very friendly staff just not very attentive but otherwise everything else is perfect about this place.

Diner Review №106

Diner Review №107

This spot is definitely worth the long walk from nearby hotels or work (watch for the closed streets and sidewalks on the way). Had the Chicken Phad Thai for dinner and ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice for take out (to have for lunch the next day!) Food definitely held its own and was even better the next day! Parking was minimal and cars were double parked - plan to park down the street or pay for parking. Very small lot! The place was well kept and seating was ok! Can seam like a really small place really fast when pearls start showing up for dinner!

Diner Review №108

Good food and service.

Diner Review №109

Diner Review №110

Visiting this restaurant in Houston was a lovely experience. The soup has different level of spice, such as mild, Medium, Hot and Thai hot. Everyone there greet you when you walk in. The vibe of the atmosphere is very laidback, chill ambiance. Food was hot and so fresh and the spice I could definitely tolerate! I must say, it felt like comfort food for me.

Diner Review №111

There for lunch today. The green curry was wonderful with a very plentiful serving of chicken. My friend ordered 2 appetizers: the dumplings were very nice, but the big surprise was the calamari- perfectly fried & delicious with the Thai inspired dipping sauce

Diner Review №112

Long waiting time and there was nothing instead I should be laughing and rush to the kitchen.

Diner Review №113

Nua Thai Restaurant in Houston's Midtown neighborhood is a hidden gem for those craving authentic and flavorful Thai cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the inviting atmosphere and friendly service make you feel right at home.

My recent visit to Nua Thai was a delightful exploration of vibrant flavors. I started off with the tulip dumplings and crab cream cheese rolls, both bursting with savory goodness. The pad Thai was perfectly cooked with a delightful balance of sweet, savory, and tangy notes. The creamy Tom Yum soup was rich and comforting, while the pineapple fried rice offered a sweet and savory contrast. Finally, the yellow curry provided a warming and fragrant finish to the meal.

One thing to note is that Nua Thai's spice levels are relatively mild compared to other Thai restaurants in Houston. I opted for the medium spice level, which added a pleasant warmth without overpowering the flavors. If you prefer a bolder kick, you can definitely request extra spice.

Whether you're looking for a casual lunch spot, a cozy dinner with friends, or a place to take out-of-town guests, Nua Thai Restaurant is a fantastic option. The delicious food, attentive service, and inviting atmosphere will leave you wanting to come back for more.

Diner Review №114

The chicken Fried Rice was not what I expected. It was overcooked, Not spicy, not it.
I will have check twice before leaving the establishment. I requested a level three spice and got zero. I ate disappointment for dinner today.

Diner Review №115

This place is soooooooo good it deserves some grace and patience when it comes to waiting for your food. The food is absolutely delicious, you should expect a wait. Honestly they need to move to a bigger place with a bigger team, parking lot, and kitchen. Service is okay BUT its because they’re so busy and overwhelmed hence me saying have some patience and show some grace. I always get the pad Thai, Tom khá, and the fried tilapia. All 3 are great.

Diner Review №116

I’ve tried about a dozen Thai restaurants in Houston and this one is by far the most consistent and delicious. Best creamy tom yum and spring rolls I’ve found anywhere.

Diner Review №117

Diner Review №118

Diner Review №119

Diner Review №120

Great Thai food. You can order with less spice for the kids. We ordered the veggie spring rolls, the green papaya salad the padthai which you can choose what protein you want it with. We ordered it with no protein and the fried rice which was delicious. The padthai needed more fishy taste. The salad was delicious. The Thai tea looked delicious. When I asked for the check there were only options for 18% 20 or 22% tip and I only added the 15% and the waitress looked at me a bit weird which she is entitled to I guess.

Diner Review №121

Diner Review №126

Hidden gem. The papaya salad was the best. The chicken pad thai was really good. Service was good. Will definitely be returning.

Diner Review №127

I ordered Thai takeout from here Thursday evening when the crazy storm and tornado hit Houston. The power went out a few times and they still managed to get my food to me in a timely manner and it was delicious!

Diner Review №128

Diner Review №129

I have been looking for good Thai food and Nua Thai blew me away. Food was absolutely delicious. The curry roti was so flavorful, the pad Thai has a nice sweet taste to it the way i like it. Other places make it more savory but the sweet was great. The mango sticky rice was so delicious and the lychee saketini was amazing as well. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend. The service was great and my food came out quick

Diner Review №130

I’ve noticed when I order my to go food on the weekend the portions are much smaller compared to ordering during the week. However, the price does not change! Please do better! I’m a loyal customer! For now!

Diner Review №131

Fantastic staff! They were all so helpful and professional. Specially our server who was really sweet. The food was also really good, although I expected it to be spicier for the spice level I had chosen. But still a great experience overall. Highly recommend.

Diner Review №132

Diner Review №133

Insane wait time, waited half an hour for one dish, do not recommend at all if you care about your time being valued

Diner Review №134

Great service and food. One of the most delicious Tai Fried Rice dishes I ever tasted!

Diner Review №135

Diner Review №141

Diner Review №142

Got take out for their bogo Uber deal. The fried chicken 17.95$ only had few pieces of chicken and they were mostly bone. Even though I take pretty good pictures you’ll quickly realize it’s mostly fried skin and skinny pieces of barely any meat. The chicken is also pretty dry. So it was absolutely not worth it. The wonton soup was $8 came with FOUR pieces of wonton inside. If this weren’t a Bogo deal it is absolutely the worst deal I’ve seen. The bogo makes it average for what it’s worth but would not get this again.

Diner Review №143

The all the dishes were overly salty or sweet, except for fried rice and vegetable dishes. The Roti was very oily.

Diner Review №144

Fantastic food, comfortable seats.

Diner Review №145

Been here a few times and I’ve never been disappointed in my meal. And the service is always quick and attentive.

Diner Review №146

Our favorite thai food in Houston! Delicious food, good portion size, yummy thai tea!

Diner Review №147

Nua has become a staple for downtown and midtown Houstonians. They get very busy around lunch with downtown workers, and then busy at dinner with midtown residents. And they are always popular for takeout.
This place opened up a few years ago around the time I moved to Midtown. At first it was kinda "meh", but over the years the management has improved a lot! The flavors are really good and the food is always hot and fresh. The service is hit or miss, but certainly better than when it first started. This is my go-to place for takeout or a quick dinner.
Just FYI parking is extremely limited. There are additional parking lots connected to the strip malls across the street and down a block.

Diner Review №148

Food, service, and atmosphere all 10/10

Diner Review №149

Anny gave very horrible service to myself while I was waiting on an order to be completed. Very bad attitude and I have patronized this place several times. She verbally embarrassed me in front of other patrons while waiting on my order. I do not recommend eating at this restaurant when you have an employee like her running the front register. Unacceptable. HORRIBLE Experience!!!!!

Diner Review №150

Drunken noodles and pineapple curry are sooo good! The food is always made fresh so it comes out hot!

Diner Review №151

I recently dined at Nua Thai and decided to try the level 4 spice in my order. The Eggplant Basil dish was a standout, with perfectly cooked eggplant and aromatic basil complemented by a flavorful sauce. The level 4 spice added just the right amount of heat, enhancing the dish without overwhelming it. Fresh ingredients and generous portions made the meal enjoyable. The ambiance was welcoming, and the overall experience was positive. I recommend trying Nua Thai's level 4 spice for a deliciously spicy Thai dining experience.

Diner Review №152

Great customer service and good food..I really liked it and definitely will be back..

Diner Review №153

Thai Pad Woon Sen noodles 🍜 . ¡So delicious 😋! Ordered mine with shrimp 🍤, you could pick different protein options such as beef 🥩 or chicken 🍗. The tea 🍵 is a Yasmin tea.🫖

Diner Review №154

Sorry for the sloppy curry photo, I simply could not WAIT to dig in as the aromas penetrated my nostrils! I have nothing but 5 stars to give to this Thai restaurant. THE most flavorful yellow curry I've ever had! And don't get me started on the drunken noodles... Tangy, spicy, chewy noodles oh heavens I'm in love! So excited to return to NUA Thai when I visit Houston again! Will definitely try the Pad Thai and Basil Fried Rice next time.. I wish I had more than one small stomach 😅 I walked 25 minutes to get here and it was WORTH IT ❤️ Such lovely staff as well!

Diner Review №167

Honestly my favorite Thai place in town…everything on the menu is delicious and the servers and hosts are always so pleasant and Sweet ! I love the Basil Fried Rice, Kee Pad Mao & can’t resist getting the Mango Sticky Rice for dessert (or sometimes breakfast lol) Highly recommend putting this place on your list of places to try!! ~ Alex :)

Diner Review №168

We got here because of amazing reviews specially on the drunken noodles. Our server was really nice initially when she took our order. Unfortunately there was a mix up and they got the soup order wrong, which was obviously a miss on their part as I never get what they were trying to give me. Anyway it wasn’t a big deal but things sort of changed from then. We got all of our order including main pretty quickly which could be good or bad but it seemed rushed. The drunken noodles weren’t what I was hoping for them to be. The only dish we really thought was good was Thai wings. My soup came out last which was meh. May give this place another shot but it will be a while before we are back.

Diner Review №169

Great Thai place. My favorite pad see ewe in city. The chicken pad thai ties for 1st as well. Have not tried too many other dishes yet because these two are so good. Building is the same a previous thai resteraunt, I feel like the same cooks work here because the food is identical to the old place (which is a good thing).

Now I've had a lot of Thai food, but NUA is by far the best I've ever had! Their Cashew Nut dish is so incredibly flavorful I could eat it just about every day.

Diner Review №185

We ordered the pad kee mao and yellow curry to go and both were absolutely delicious, and decent portion sizes as well!

Diner Review №186

Yellow curry is the absolute BOMB!!!

Diner Review №187

Best drunken noodle in Houston

Diner Review №188

I love this place. It probably doesn’t even need a review with how good they are but I figured after about the 10th time ordering takeout I would review . Food is so delicious. Curries are flavored, creamy but not too heavy. And the wonderful thing is they really do good for take out orders too! I’ve eaten inside only once mostly cause parking is always an issue there but the food in the restaurant and out the restaurant are the same ! This is one of our favorites for sure for downtown food

Diner Review №189

Diner Review №191

Diner Review №192

Great fresh food. Friendly service. Limited parking but great overall experience.

Diner Review №193

We love this place and have been coming here for a while. Plenty of vegetarian options. Authentic and flavorful dishes. Our goto's are tofu spring rolls, red curry fried rice with tofu, and drunken noodles with tofu. Every now and then we get the panang or massaman curry or spicy basil tofu (pad kra pow). Tonight I decided to try the brussels sprout and although it had great flavor it was too saucy. Prices are reasonable and portions are perfect. *Update on service* Service was good but it seems to have gone down a bit. From what I can tell they are short staffed. There is one person managing the tables and that can get backed up pretty quickly. That one person is also answering phones and helping people coming in to pick up Togo orders etc. Plenty of seating. Parking is limited but there's street parking nearby. Happy they're in the neighborhood.

Diner Review №194

Diner Review №195

Red Curry was delicious, so was the Papaya Salad. You get to choose a heat level for both. Note, these dishes are sweet. The dumplings were tasty with good portions. The Thai Tea was spot on. Environment is neat and cozy. Server was polite. Recommend for a casual lunch/dinner. The food is the strength here for sure.

Diner Review №196

My wife and I have been wanting to try this restaurant out for some time now. We finally made time, and we weren't disappointed. The food was exceptional. Full of flavor and culture! We will definitely return to try other menu items. The only issue we ran into was parking. They have parking but it is a small lot. I ended up paying 7 dollars to park in the lot next to the restaurant. Downtown life...smh!

I’ve been craving Thai food for a few weeks now, never been to a Thai restaurant in Houston before. I decide to come here & hope that my favorite dish, drunken noodle is good. It was the best I had, & my boyfriend first time eating Thai food, he enjoyed it more than I did, & I love Thai food. Server was great at her job as well. Restrooms clean & seating is comfortable.
