Tukta Thai Restaurant is owned by the Ruengmateekhun family for 27 years. We serve a variety of authentic Thai cuisine including appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, and desserts. Tukta Thai is also BYOB! Come by and try the best Thai food Texas has to offer!
My first time having Thai food was here at Tukta Thai. I was unfamiliar with Thai dishes and didn’t know what I wanted, but they helped me decide. I got the siam noodles with chicken, which is a stir fry noodle with broccoli and egg. I really liked this because it had a sweet & savory profile. I hope to come here again and try many more dishes.
It’s literally Christmas Eve right now and I stumbled up on this place and I got the spicy Thai fried rice combination with chicken shrimp and beef extra spicy and y’all its so damn good. I was scared at first because it was $20 and I’m thinking I just spent $20…What if it’s not good ??but it’s super good it was fresh and hot the worker was kind this was bomb for Christmas Eve.! they also give you fresh cucumbers on the side. It went great with the spicy rice. Definitely gonna be trying this place again.
This is our family’s favorite Thai place! It is a family run restaurant and you can really feel and taste the difference! You are treated kindly from the moment you walk in and the food is amazing!
The portions are generous and best when shared. It is a fun and comfortable atmosphere, and they are GREAT with families and large groups.
If I could summarize this place in a word— “family.” Highly, highly recommend it.
Also, their mango sticky rice is delicious!
I get take out once a week from Tutka Thai! They are so quick, so nice and the food is delicious , and generous portions! They’re just the best!
Best Thai food in Dallas, hands down. Charming spot and friendly service from the owners. I have been going here for 15+ years and the food is always consistent and delicious. The red curry chicken might be my favorite food on the planet.
Everything is above and beyond here! try the thai iced coffee! all the entrees are super filling and flavorful. we eat in and order out, the quality and service is always amazing and fast. This is probably my favorite restaurant in dallas!
Can’t believe this place has been around for 29 years and we had never been! The service was incredible, the owner was so so nice.
The ambiance is so eclectic and different. We loved it!
Food was incredible too, soooo many options on the menu, we’re going to have to come back and try them all. (Will always get the pork sandwich as an appetizer though, it was delicious)
Best of the best - a lake highlands staple and legend.
I mostly get takeout, but for dining in, it’s BYOB and you will be floored in how many people come in for pick ups.

Owner is very friendly, it is a special place to go.
The best Thai in all of Dallas.
Great food
The food is good when they are open . Today was the 4th time that their website says they are open but they have a closed sign on the door when you drive up . Please update your website!

We went for our first time tonight, and safe to say we’ll be back!
Loved the service, the vibe, and can’t wait to try more of the menu.

Simply the best!!! Green bean special is fire!
Best authentic Thai food in Texas
This tiny shopping strip restaurant was dirty and moldy smelling inside. Every where you looked, there were old dusty frame prints, dirty dusty statues, and carpet that looked like it had not been professionally steam cleaned in decades. The smell from all of old decorations was intense and ruined my appetite. I got my food to carry out. I had Pad Thai with shrimp and the shrimp tasted old. This place needs to close for one day and have it professionally cleaned from top to bottom. And declutter a little. Way too much stuff.
Worth a come back dining experience!
Friendly staff. BYOB
Not the most Thai food I've ever eaten..definitely the most carrots I've seen in Thai food.
No coconut milk in the Panang curry.
There is a strong smells of feces or how the ground smells after you remove an above ground pool.
This is a good Thai place that's right down the street people are very friendly. It's a family business
DELICIOUS! Had pad kee mao and it was excellent! Service was just as good!
Wonderful Thai food ,full of flavor 😋, Fantastic s
Service and Atmosphere.
Absolutely the best Thai food in Dallas! Please don’t judge based off the space everything I’ve tried on the menu so far exceeded my expectations. The family is very humble, and the space does feel blessed even the tap water. 😉
Food is so good and authentic.
Been here multiple times - worth the money spent & time used. Food wonderful; service great. They r doing a good job inspite of shortage of help!
12/30/2022. Still great place for Thai foods!
A great place will always be a great place, unless the owner doesn't care for the business. Quality of food is of utmost important; then they do expect payment... logical ....
02/02/2024. The quality remains superb!
Excellent quality, fresh, perfectly cooked crisp-tender vegetables, perfectly seasoned, very fast from order to table. Everything was delicious. This is our third time and it’s consistently great.
Always excellent, have been frequenting this joint for 20 years. It’s always fresh, always on time!
This is our family’s favorite Thai place! It is a family run restaurant and you can really feel and taste the difference! You are treated kindly from the moment you walk in and the food is amazing!

Great place for Thai food. They're honest about their spice ratings, so pay attention. I've sweated through more than one shirt here, but I like the heat. I've eaten in and grabbed it to go. It travels well if you need to grab it to go.
vibe is great food is great. really can't think of a downside. coconut water was great, ginger fish or whatever it's called was great. dumplings were great. we will be back
I love hole in the wall type places but this was an exception. We should have walked out when we went to wash our hands and the soap they use is an old reused hand pump that is broken and watered down with extra water to make the soap last longer. The place smelt like old dust but even despite red flags we were excited because the reviews are really good.
We got the chicken satay, Thai ice coffee and spicy fried rice. The chicken satay had a yellow curry on it that did not taste good at all. We couldn’t eat it. The Thai iced coffee had a bad taste as though the condense milk was old. The spicy chicken fried rice was not at all spicy but at least was edible.
For $40, it was a huge disappointment. If you want to try this place I advise don’t sit inside and order something other than what we ordered to go.
The server was very kind and was the only reason we didn’t send back the food but we won’t be back.
Tukta is one of the few places I find equally wonderful to eat in or take home because of how outstanding the food is and how much the staff cares. It's a true gem of the neighborhood. The authentic flavors and ingredients make every dish so tasty. Portions are huge and prices are reasonable. And if you like spice, they will fulfill your craving!!
Half my family is from Thailand and I can say this place is the real deal! Starting with the beautiful cultural decor in the restaurant all the way to the perfect flavors of every dish I’ve tried! Love it here more than I can even describe!!!
I eat here once a week. I love their chicken green curry fried rice!!
The best lemon grass seafood will be back soon😁
Calm atmosphere with delicious food. First time trying Thai and I had a great experience.
Very fun vibe inside, nice owner, food was really good. Got the green curry fried rice - fair price for a lot of food
The food was so delicious. The place was so cute and fancy. Definitely will be back.
Big portions but average food. i did find the service wasn't very good. $20 for one person to eat for average food. i'm not saying dont go here but i'm saying it wasn't much of a friendly experience
Okaish I quite didn't enjoy my pad Thai.
10/10, truly the best food I’ve had in Dallas, dare I say my life?
I’ve yet to have my socks knocked off by any Dallas restaurant but this place finally did it for me tonight. Bold, in-your-face authentic Thai spices. No fuss, no BS, take it or leave it.
I sincerely doubt any place can beat this small, family-owned spot in the greater DFW area. Unsuspecting on the outside but comfy, inviting and exquisite dishes on the inside. Looking forward to my next visit, they gained customers for life!
Great service and amazing food. I've been going here for over 10 years and it is a staple anytime I'm in Dallas. You really can't go wrong with any of the dishes. My favorites are the Tom Kha soup and crispy fish.
Wonderful Thai family owned restaurant. The dishes are amazing and it’s BYOB! It’s located in a small strip mall which might concern you but I assure you it’s authentic. If you ask for level 4 spicy be prepared! I have been eating here for years and it’s consistently great. The best of the best.
Every time I visit Dallas I get takeout from Tutka Thai. The owner is so nice and it’s really simple to call in an order and pick it up. Favorites are Siam Noodles, Pad Thai and the shrimp spring rolls which are so light and fresh.
Absolutely love this place! Average prices too! We’ve had several different dishes and they’ve all been great! Very authentic! Would not recommend if you’re picky or aren’t used to lots of flavor! One of my favorites is the fried Massaman curry rice! And even the basic Pad Thai is great! Highly recommend!
This is our “I’m too tired to cook. Let’s get take out” restaurant. If you order from there enough they recognize you and memorize your order. They make recommendations based on your craving for something sweet, Spivey, or savory. It’s a wonderful, family-run business.
Not authentic thai food. Got a curry dish, a noodle smdish and spring rolls. Pad Thai was ok but nothing to write home about. Panang was very bekow average. Spring rolls were not made fresh, shrimp was old and gross. Had to remove the shrimp from the rolls. Couldnt recommended the food but the people running it are nice.
The food is delicious! Hits the spot every time. I don't typically go there since it's out of my way, but I now make it a priority. I have gone to several Thai restaurants in the area. This has crept up to number 1!
The service is prompt and accurate.
Such good authentic food and the dine in experience Is beautiful, I love the curry dishes and coconut ice cream
The food here was very good. A lot of flavor. The server was very nice.
El lugar es pequeño y acogedor muy linda la decoración, música relajante es un sitio muy agradable y la comida deliciosa
The food here was absolutely amazing and the service was phenomenal. The owner makes you feel welcomed and at home. I never experienced such hospitality. I will definitely be back! ❤️
Delicious Pad Thai. It is unfortunate that they do not seem to be open for lunch any more.
Simply put..one of the best Thai places in Dallas..undercover and underrated. Family owned and operated. Worth the trip
Yum! In Dallas for one night and randomly chose this place. They were carry out only, but the inside is super cute. The food was generously portioned, hot, and delicious!
Never disappoints. Even if the space got severely downsized (don't know when that happened cause I haven't been in a while) there's still plenty of seats, and the owners service is excellent as always. Every time I get the craving for pad thai, Tukta Thai is the place to go. Curry is also super flavorful as well. Hope this place stays around for longer and that the family that runs it prospers!
Home made thai food.
The most authentic Thai Food I have had in the country!!! We've been to Thailand three times, for three weeks at a time!!
I forget how we came across this place long ago but have gone back many, many times since then. It's simply one of my favorite Thai restaurants ever. Their food is always good and the atmosphere is wonderful. It reminds me of my childhood, like going to a family gathering dinner. I believe it is family run and everyone is very friendly and helpful.
Great little mom and pop thai restaurant. I get take out from here weekly
This place is the best Thai place in dallas.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommended. Very friendly staff.
the veggies were very fresh, I could tell they were cut and cooked in-house! no mushy frozen veggies like other places. I had red curry with veggies/tofu and an iced coffee. guy running the place was very friendly and patient, and it shows in the food, could really taste the love. great experience and peaceful ambiance ☺️
So delicious!!!
VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! i was served brown colored purple cabbage!!! Along side fresh spring rolls that were warm😱😱😱 VERY WARM and the shrimp was OLDDDDD!!! It stunk to high hell... i should have known when NO ONE was in there to turn around and go back out!!! SMH! The guy was nice and the restaurant is really cute so its just sad that more pride is not taken. It is also VERY hot in there. I ended up getting Thai Fried rice and it was too hot to eat in there. And ive TOTALLY had way better Thai rice and cheaper too!!! TOTALLY wont go back.
Consistently good, locally owned, very sweet people.
Best pad Thai I’ve ever had. Owner makes it feel like he’s hosting you at your house. Family owned and operated. Large portions that will give you an extra meal or a man vs food challenge.
Good food ,friendly service
Simply Delicious!!
Great Thai food at an even better price. The owner is very kind and serves his customers well
Perfect. Period.
Good/fast service and very polite
This is a great little family owned Thai restaurant in East Dallas. Due to Covid they have closed their dining room. You can still walk in and order or call ahead. Their prices are reasonable relative to the portion sizes. I enjoy the Thai Basil with spice level 2. Be sure to ask them to explain the spice levels. The food reheats well as well! I also really liked their fried dumplings, they have a cilantro dipping sauce.
Parking is easy with a large parking lot. They take cash or credit card and are pretty quick at turning things around after ordering.
Ordered two dishes and they looked nothing like the photos in the menu. When I inquired about N8 prior to ordering was told it's a curry dish. What I got was nothing resembling a curry. Ate it anyway cuz that's the broken soul person I am. Whatever dish it was tasted ok, but all fake seafood. Except the shrimp. The balls resembling scallops were hard and almost crunchy but a protein I couldn’t quite identify. I’ve just never seen anything like it. My gf however tho't it wasn't good at all and "life is too short for bad food".
Ordered Tom Kha and Pad Gra Tiem Prik Thai, both were excellent, even though I had to enjoy them in my hotel room due to Covid-19 restrictions. I am looking forward to returning when the dining area is open, but I will definitely visit again (regardless) the next time I am in the area.
The Pad Thai and Red Curry were pretty great!
It 's delicious. They have a huge menu that is always pretty gosh darn good.
Never disappoint! They have the best soups and egg rolls.
Food is ways excellent and the owner is amazing.
Excellent food and service!
Never Going Here Again. I Am Part Thai And Lemme Tell Y'all... This Food Is Disgusting!!!! I Threw Up Right After I Got Home From Eating Here. Food Poisoning For A Week
Food was tasteless and cold. Need a better cook that is for sure. This place NEEDS a make over big time. Everything on the menu look the same. The decor is horrible with tons of gross plastic plants and flowers with bad old lighting. The staff need to wear proper restaurant clothes. The owner I guess was waiting tables in a wind breaker everyone else in street clothes. I will not go back.
This is a really friendly and nice place to eat out with friends. I went with two other people, we split two meals and an appetizer and we left totally stuffed. We ordered the pad Thai and Siam noodles along with dumplings. The dumplings were by far my favorite thing. The flavoring is amazing and even though they're small they pack a mean punch full of flavor. I seriously have not stopped craving them since having them.
The staff is very nice and personable as well. Our waitress was very sweet and hard working. If you walk in and see the waitress with different colored glasses that's her. Compliment her on her glasses, she'll appreciate it. And honestly it's good to be nice.
This restaurant has held a special place in my heart for many years now. The food is always excellent and the space is like stepping into Thailand from a gas station parking lot. Nothing short of magical. I highly recommend this place. Absolutely some of the best Thai food Dallas has to offer.
Quick & friendly service, large selection, delicious food! I got chicken with veggies, coconut milk, and yellow curry. It was fantastic!
Love the staff and the fresh food...
Asq
This is our absolute best favorite Thai in this part of town
Great service, diverse menu, friendly staff, family run.
Okay
Best pad Thai!
Best Thai cuisine in Dallas, very family oriented.
Good, clean place. Service was a little slow and food took qbout 20 mins to arrive. Apart from that, great place.
Absolutely best fish in the DFW (and we've lived here 10+ years)! This spicy red curry on the fish is seasoned perfectly, and paired with a fantastic crispy skin on the fish and crispy mint on top (get ready to take some home or plan to definitely share). We've been here a few times and their appetizers are out of this world and never disappoint. They have a huge menu so it's helped us a lot to have both a written description and a picture to go along with it. The service is also phenomenal and prices are on point for this family owned restaurant. The BYOB rule makes it our favorite date night (or date brunch) place!
Best Thai in the area! Been coming here for 20 years, amazing family and even better food! I try to try something new every time and haven't been disappointed yet.
It was ok.
Tried so many Thai places but always seem to drive here. Great pad kee mow, or crazy noodle. Very large dinner portions. Sweet restaurant owners. Great mom & pop thai food.
Great service, nice atmosphere without feeling stuffy. Good green curry, byob a plus.
The place smelled like a dusty beanbag but the food was excellent
Excellent Thai food! One of the best in Dallas! They have great lunch specials as well!
It was absolutely amazing. I haven't had Thai food in so so long amd trying the Pad Kei Mau was exactly like I remember it when I first had it.
Food was very good
Best Thai food in Dallas one of my fav places to eat!
This is the best Thai I've ever had. And Thai is my favorite type of food. I've been to dozens of restaurants, but Tukta Thai is always the standard I compare it to. I live in forth worth and sometimes come here JUST for Tukta. I am so in love with their Tom Ka soup. I dream about it.
Glad to have found this hidden gem! It was a very pleasant surprise!
The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Lots of pictures and statues. It felt like being part of a museum exhibit lol. The food was great (had pad Thai and steamed dumplings with the soup of the day.. I dont even know what it was but it was good too lol). The service was great as well. Food was prepared and served quickly. Will definitely come again.
My custom made veggie dish was delicious! I shall return.
Good, Family-run place with wide selection of high-quality choices.
Excellent family owned restaurant. Each dish is delicious. They own their sense of style. The decor is unique and original. If you're looking for a neighborhood Thai restaurant with excellent food, this is your place.
SO GOOD! It is authentic Thai so don't think you're going to get orange chicken. But what you do get is amazing! The seating is lush and comfortable and the servers are very accomodating.
Got the chicken pad Thai. If you want something spicy, they won't make it spicy. Ask for their hottest pepper sauce to go with your meal. Also they play piano covers of songs that you probably know
I'll give it one star only for the fact that the two of the four people that got their food, enjoyed the flavor. Otherwise I'd give it negative stars.
1. They forgot what I wanted in my noodles. But didn't come ask until 40 minutes later and the table of six got and devoured their food before I got mine. Then didn't offer to accommodate with a to-go box, and tried to charge me for the food that I didn't get.
2. I paid the $50 for the two meals that did get eaten and my daughter's that wasn't touched because they made it spicy when she said nothing spicy.
3. They were very complacent about their cruddy service. Worst is I've been there before and could tolerate their horrible attitude. I'm ok with bad attitudes if the food is good. The food there is mediocre at best. Out of the box fillers.
4. Pro tip - when your restaurant didoesn have more then two of the tables full of 40 at any given time of the day, don't piss off one of the two customers you have.
Experience sucked. (Sorry for typos, on mobile and still hungry)
It was okay...
Their Pad Thai was exceptional. Comfortable, low key place. Will have to go back and try the green curry, my other favorite Thai dish.
I love it! The service is great and all the food is delicious. My friends are joining me to celebrate my birthday this time!
Great soup, food, and great service .
