Thai curries & stir-fries join noodle soups, satay & other classics at this strip-mall cafe.
We came in on a Monday evening for dinner. The place wasn't crowded at all. I ordered the pork skewers for starters. They were good and cooked quickly. I also ordered the pad Thai chicken. The noodles were cooked perfectly and had a sweet flavor that I'm not used to. I'm used to the flavor being hot but it was good though. Good amount of chicken as well. The portion was enough to fill you up.
So disappointed! Still gave it a shot after reading the mixed reviews. The chicken wings tasted old and freezer burnt. The rice looked so good but the smell of burnt rice was overwhelming and I eat with my nose and just couldn’t eat it. I took the rice back and got my money back with no problem. Hopefully when they reopen in April after being closed for a while they are revamping the whole restaurant and getting it together. Hoping for success for the restaurant. *Fingers crossed*
Dined here for the first time yesterday. Ordered the beef Pad Thai by recommendation of other reviewers, and the Thai Tea after seeing one brought to another table.
The Pad Thai was great, cooked all the way until the sauce caramelized, the edges of the noodles crisped a bit, and it had a full flavor. Many places undercook (I assume to make cleaning the wok easier). I ordered medium hot, and it was sufficiently hot, maybe a 7/10. The Thai Tea tasted fresh brewed, it was rich, had lots of milk and was very sweet.
Service was decent, but could have been better, inside of restaurant was a bit underwhelming, half was closed with chairs on tables and boxes of supplies stacked up. This detracted from the atmosphere, but the food was amazing.
I've eaten at over 30 Thai restaurants and the Pad Thai here is in my top 5 favorites.
The chicken Pad Thai had flavor, but there were no peanuts, and only 1 tiny piece of lime for a huge portion.
I had not been here in years, but that will change. I forgot how good the food is. We ordered two plates of Duck Pad Thai without peanuts, and it was enough food to eat off three different times. It was so good! I'm looking forward to trying the lobster version next. I also recommend the sauce area. The one with the peppers is my kind of hot. The Thai tea was also on point. They use to have a lunch buffet, that I hope they bring back or still offer. This place is worth every penny.
The ingredients were fresh and high quality.
I ordered a summer role. Unfortunately the wrapper was stuck to the plate and it shredded when I tried to pick it up. Usually I dip them in the peanut sauce but here I was trying to grab individual components with my fingers. Without a knife there was no point. So, although this would have tasted amazing (beard on three components), the wrapper was simply too sticky to consume without knife and fork; you do not get a knife. So pad on these maybe.
I ordered red curry chicken with bamboo extra spicy. I am happy to report that I considered it spicey. So my first spicey meal in Texas. Highly recommended. I think I usually see this dish named Gang Dang.
Drinks are purchased by the can. I know they have come and Dr. Pepper. Unsure what else they have.
I wanted to try their Thom Kha Goong (shrimp) but it is a dinner portion.
The waiter took time to discuss the menu then left me alone. If I wanted something I needed to go to him.
Enjoyed the meal and would come again, enjoyed the food.
My experience at Tham Rab left much to be desired, both in terms of the food and the overall restaurant ambiance. I was let down by the lack of spice in my meal, although I acknowledge that I may have overlooked the need to request spice (I’ve never had to request it at a Thai restaurant though).
Specifically, I ordered the pepper steak and was surprised to find that there was no discernible presence of pepper in the dish. The overall flavor struck me as peculiar, which could be attributed to either the absence of pepper or the use of an unconventional sauce. The service, however, was satisfactory.
The unappetizing and strangely flavored meal leaves me hesitant about returning to Tham Rab in the future.
I really try to go to a place three times before reviewing, but when traveling, what can you do? Based on my one visit, I easily give Tham Rab 5 stars. Their Thai Iced Tea was great, all the more so due to it not being super sweet like some I've had. The summer rolls were huge and delicious. Green Curry is my Thai standard I order the first time I go to any thai place. Tham Rab's green curry is legit and a great portion to boot. I wanted to order the Tom Kha soup, but at almost $10 for a bowl, it was prohibitively expensive (I'm used to $5-7) and out of line with the rest of their very reasonable pricing. There's a lunch buffet, which given my dinner time visit, I cannot comment on with first hand knowledge.
The restaurant was clean with little to no ambience or mood lighting. This is probably not a great choice for a romantic dinner. The bathroom was plain, serviceable, and mostly clean (the door could use a good wash.) The sink has actual hot water.
If you're looking for delicious thai food and don't care if it's in a fancy environment or not, I definitely reccomend Tham Rab.
Not really impressed by the flavors
The chicken Pad Thai had flavor, but there were no peanuts, and only 1 tiny piece of lime for a huge portion.
Not fancy. A lot of guui teeow
Laab and yum was delicious
Order Pad See Ew and it was pretty good. I haven't really tried anything else besides that but at least their food has flavor unlike some stores
That Rab Thai is primarily a "to-go" offering of goodness and flavors. Is it the best Thai I've ever had?... "no", because I've been able to access Thai cuisine at an international level; However, I still find the Panang Curry and the Chicken Satay are prepared very well and deserving of a "5" of five stars for being reliable and tasty options of generous portions. Not much atmosphere, but you do have the option to "dine-in"
Very good Massaman Curry!
The owners were rude. The place was empty, and they had reserved tables signs, like they were going to get busy... Didn't stay to order food.
UNSANITARY RESTAURANT. First off, this is hardly a dine-in restaurant. Half of the restaurant is a cluttered mess and looks like a storage unit. I was wary trying it but found that the food was still good, until recently. I always order to go and found DEAD BUGS in my food. When I called the restaurant to get a refund, they told me I could come back and get a free order of what I had found bugs in. DISGUSTING. Don’t come here unless you want subpar service and unsanitary food.
Best Thai restaurant in Killeen. We always enjoyed to eat here. Excellent restaurant
Love the food here! Especially, The lobster pad thai. Recently we placed a group order and they forgot my shrimp order. However, they made it right that evening by refunding my money.
Hubby and I LOVED our experience! It was our first time here, and the food came out quickly and was delicioussss. We found out that Medium heat was VERY spicy (hahaha) but the flavor was out of this world 🤩 will indeed be back :)
Have been ordering from here for years & it's hands down the BEST. We always order the pad thai & thai fried rice with chicken & it's phenomenal- it has the best flavor, is super fresh, & they're always extremely polite no matter how busy they are.
Best Thai food I have ever had! Their crab rangoons are the best around.
The food was amazing. The service was fast and nice. It's a bit quiet in the restaurant, the walls were a little dirty. Overall, it is highly recommended. The portions are great. The flavor of the food was delicious. I look forward to eating there again.
The pad Thai and panag curry is my absolute favorite! The prices are pretty good too. The takeout packaging is really good too so it's with bringing home.
I loved the Thai Spicy Duck, great flavor.
I have eaten here a few time and have enjoyed it. Food is good, and you get good size portions. Service is decent.
The best Thai food in Central Texas
A friend from work turned me on to this place, a tad pricey, but well worth it!!! Best crab Rangoon that my wife and I have EVER had! Check this place out!
Best thai in Killeen!!!
The food was fresh and decent tasting. Service was good. We were the only customers. Atmosphere was ok, but there were lots of boxes laying around on the floor and counters. Felt dirty. The drapery on the walls was dusty and needed a good cleaning. Finally, it was very over-priced. $40 for 2 people, NOT including tip! I was shocked! Personally, I didn't think it was worth it.
Cute little restaurant with very kind staff. A true “hole in the wall” hidden gem kind of place.
Thai tea is creamy and delicious, I believe it’s a heavy cream based drink here and not a coconut milk base. Either way it’s some of the best Thai tea I’ve had.
The Crab Rangoon’s are light and crispy on the outside without being dripping in oil. The cheesy insides are rich and creamy. The sauce it’s served with is a sweet and tangy “sweet and sour” like sauce.
I got the pineapple curry with duck and it is amazing! There’s a lot more sauce than I thought there would be so it’s almost like a soup. The curry sauce itself is very complex with its flavors of sweet, spicy, salty, and perfectly savory. Though I am unsure if the curry is a coconut or heavy cream base. It does come with a side of white rice.
The pad Thai with chicken is phenomenal. Rice noodles were perfectly cooked without being too squishy and soggy. The bean sprouts add the perfect crunch. The lime you can squeeze on top adds sour and acidity to the nutty and savory dish. One dish of this could easily feed 2 people or 1 small stomached person for 2-3 days.
Food was delicious and customer service was great! We ordered: Seafood panang curry, chicken drunken noodles, fried chicken wings, chicken egg rolls, and crab rangoons. All hot and delicious 🤤 will come back again!!!

Best Thai ever. Prices are amazing, and they give generous portions for leftovers. I never have to worry that the spice level isn't perfect here.
Not sure what went wrong this day. My Pad Thai noodles were stiff and over cooked. My Tempera was cold and rubbery. This was my first and last time visiting. Sorry.
Love the glass noodles and chicken noodle soup
I’m moving back to Killeen just for this restaurant. I can’t tell you how much I loved their food.
You haven't lived until you've eaten here 👍😁
I eat here once or twice every week, always chicken Pad Thai. I've had this dish at countless Thai restaurants in central Texas and this place does it best, always perfect flavoring, not too sweet, noodles always perfectly cooked. Hits every time. Almost starved to death when they were on vacation for a month, lol!
low profile interiors. Ordered chowmein noodles and was pretty bad tasting, left the whole plate. Asked for a replacement Got red curry tofu which was palatable. Owner charged for both entrees even though we didn’t like the first one and left it completely. Owner was very rude , you are better off to avoid this place
good food with good prices
Dined here for the first time yesterday. Ordered the beef Pad Thai by recommendation of other reviewers, and the Thai Tea after seeing one brought to another table.

I've eaten at over 30 Thai restaurants and the Pad Thai here is in my top 5 favorites.
Most of the food is awesome here but I ordered the Tom Yum Tofu for the first time because I wanted non-spicy coconut soup and I would not recommend it. The tofu is fried and dry. It tasted like days old fried tofu. Fried tofu is not a good combination with coconut soup. The soup was awesome and flavorful, I had to remove all the tofu. 🤢
I had not been here in years, but that will change. I forgot how good the food is. We ordered two plates of Duck Pad Thai without peanuts, and it was enough food to eat off three different times. I just love this place so much. I’ve order here several times and ask for all different kinds of substitutions and they’ve never gotten an order wrong! The food is flavorful, the portions are large, and the service is friendly. I will be sad when we move!
5 star as usual
Absolutely love this place. Makes great green and red curry. Never had an issue with ordering and my food always taste great.
Ordered the Hawaiian fried rice. Delicious! Satay chicken.. delicious! Ask for seconds on the peanut sauce...it was delicious!
Duck red curry was out of this world
Everything about this place is great, including the food, the ambiance, and the hygiene. a must-go.
Best pad Thai I ever had.
Really great food and always available. Initially found this place because another Thai restaurant which is closer to home has /had inconsistent hours which became very inconvenient. Tham Rab has great food, great service, fast, and affordable. Moreover, they are consistent! This is definitely my go to. Plus my picky daughter LOVES and frequently requests. This place is a win!!
The food and prices is fair enough. This restaurant is similar as a food court. If you are look for taking out order, you can give them a chance(most of their orders are taking out anyway). However,I don’t suggest you to dine in, because their eating environment is not that good, dark and old, but it’s clean enough. Half of the chairs are putting on the desk, there is a glass pantry have a old paper tag said (we do not have buffet). In general, this restaurant looks like it’s closing out. However, don’t worry about that, because most of their orders come from taking out.
This place was fantastic! Food was amazing and service was great!
The ingredients were fresh and high quality.

I wanted to try their Thom Kha Goong (shrimp) but it is a dinner portion.

Enjoyed the meal and would come again, enjoyed the food.
It was okay. The food and ambiance was subpar compared to other Thai food restaurants. I’m a bit disappointed with the presentation of the interior. I can only express from my second experience. The first was not good either and that was over a year ago. I thought I’d give it another try to see if there was improvement. Officially, I will not be going back. I hope everyone else’s experience is better. I just didn’t feel the passion from the outside, inside and the food. A stack of magazines were visible at the window and the windows were dirty. This was around 4:45 on a Monday. The waiter was pleasant. But I’m a bit concerned that the food is only for consumption and not an experience? Perhaps the cook is tired? Either way, my experience wasn’t great.
Good food, man taking orders, etc was very friendly. Definitely not upscale dining atmosphere however if you're looking for that.
MENU IS OUTDATED: a lot of the things we went here hoping to get were no longer on their menu, including fried wontons :( their new menu is not in any of these pictures. The food that we did get was good, curry was very good and fried rice was a 4/5 I am mostly just sad about the lack of items from the pictures of the menu was very disappointed they didn't have what I went here for.
Give me my wife and friends first time being there and their food is beyond excellent that was some of the best food and it's like a mom and pop restaurant you know where they take care of their people and stuff the food I can only eat half of my plate and I'm 6'4 and I weigh 237 lb and I don't see anybody can eat all that food they serve you the way you was real good I mean the place you just have staying in I recommend anybody go try this place.
My favorite Thai place. Been coming here for over a year. The drunken noodle and Pad Cha are amazing, and this place really knows how to spice things up. Ask for Thai Spice if you want the heat!
Delicious is all I can say😋👍😋
Had the Tom Yum Goong (shrimp) and it was amazing. Everything fresh...and lots of shrimp. And did I say SPICY! Made my eyes sweat 😂 but he will ask you if you want it milder. Staff was friendly and knew his repeat customers. I noticed this as people came in for take out orders.
Plenty of food, and it was good, however the service was well below average. We were the only table, so no excuse.
I asked for soy sauce and he pointed to the little table you see in the picture. Seriously? You're supposed to be a waiter. I'm disabled and have a hard time walking so my daughter got up and got it for me. Unacceptable. I don't stiff a waiter.. that is bad karma, so I left him a dollar and a note on the receipt as to why.
My daughter was annoyed by the kid screaming that one of the employees brought to work. I realize things happen and it's sometimes unavoidable to bring your kids to work if need be. Not very professional, but should have left the kid in the back or appeased.
Not sure why the waiter didn't bring me the billI. I had to hobble up to the register to pay.
Again, the food was good and plenty of it, so I would go back again.. I wouldn't hold it against one employee.
The most disgusting Thai food I’ve ever eaten. I ordered the garlic peppered beef and my husband ordered the combination fried rice. The garlic peppered beef wasn’t seasoned enough and the gravy/sauce/juice or whatever is was taste like straight flour! The flavor combination fried rice was off, idk if the rice was old or what but it wasn’t right and the mystery meat was a definite no! The price of the food definitely didn’t meet the quality. We love Thai food but will never order from here again!
Food is INCREDIBLE, sweet tea is like drinking syrup.
Been here multiple times and they never disappoint, won't go anywhere else for Asian food!
Pork fried rice was delicious. Definitely will be returning. It was super easy to call, place an order, and pick up. Happy to have found a new Thai place!
I am so confused about all the good reviews? I was in the area yesterday and thought I would try them. 12:30 in the afternoon there was only one couple there. Half of the chairs were stacked on tables. There was a 55 gal barrel of hand soap right close to the door in the dinning area. I ordered the Tom Kha soup. It tasted like a premixed base, no lemon grass, no malanga. The veg in it were skimpy and it had a mushy sour tomato in it. The restroom in this place is gross and there are boxes of supplies all over the dinning room. The server was just indifferent and never checked on me. If they ever were good , they need to regroup.
One of my favorite spots for me and my son! We love the combination rice and chicken egg rolls and I have to have extra duck sauce and they always provide it!! Going to order out for dinner tomorrow night lol
We’ve ordered from here more than I can count and let me tell you it’s always on point! We’ve moved from the area and haven’t found another Thai spot to replace Tham Rab Thai! So glad we could get a taste before leaving out again. Miss the old counter guy with the glasses. He was always friendly and suggested the best movies to watch!
**I wish I would have gotten the veggie stir Fry glass noodle this time! Get mild because medium will burn a hole in your mouth!
3rd time coming here. Love the food! Would recommend
Disappointed...the food was gross and poorly prepared. The server was nice enough, but inattentive. There are food stains all over the wall...little splatters of gunk. I am so sad I spent $20 for falling apart summer rolls and overly sweet panang. I only ate a little curry, and had no desire for a to go box. The sauce for the summer rolls was quite good.
Still the best Thai food in the area.
Ive ordered food here twice both times all good. Third time I visit get the same order Chicken Pad Thi but I wanted pork. Well this is what I got some sweet slimy noodles with dirt tasting sprouts and black & green onions. What the what..11.85 for some sweet noodles SHM...last visit...
I’ve had lots of Thai food from the Killeen area and this is by far my favorite around here. Nothing compares. I typically get the Pad Thai or Pad Woon Sen. it’s amazing! Customer service isn’t always the best but the food never disappoints. Large portions is bonus!
Comida rica y saludable.
First time I have ever had Thai food and it was at this place. The food was incredible and I have some leftovers that I am very looking forward to eating for lunch tomorrow. Service was fast and polite, waiter also had a cool haircut 👍. 100% recommend this place
Both the food and the service was amazing!!!
The food is always fantastic.
They are very polite and their food taste soo good. Am going there every time am hungry
Wonderful service and delicious food.
First time customer here due to my normal pace being temporarily closed. The food was good overall. My complaint is that I asked for spicy and my dish was not spicy at all. Also the beef sweet and sour I ordered didn't have a single pineapple in it... maybe they were out. I would eat here again though.
I've always enjoyed food from here but tonight was an epic fail and I'll never eat here again. Not only did I wait 1 hour for my food but it looked like it was cooked earlier today, food oily, cold and not up to their usual standards
EDIT: We returned and they were only doing take-out. Ok, no big. But we waited over 5 minutes for someone to take our order. Whoever was supposed to be working front of house was in the back packaging food. I saw an older gentleman in the back WIPE HIS NOSE with his wrist, no gloves, no hand washing after. Nothing! Disgusting.
They're open for dine in! I had yellow curry (mild spice) and it was fabulous! The portion is huge, so bring your appetite or take the extra to go!
Some of the best Pas See Ew and yellow curry I've ever had!! Would recommend
Last week I ordered the chicken curry, it tasted great (the best in Killeen). Unfortunately, today I ordered the garlic chicken wings and the chicken was not fresh. The chicken tasted like they had it in the freezer forever and tasted like it was refried chicken and it had a strange smell to it and a very strange taste just to be normal fried chicken, it didn't have any garlic taste to it, I eat one bite of the chicken and spit it out and threw it away. Please sell fresh food, it shouldn't smell strange, taste strange, it shouldn't be tough. I would seriously recommend people to go to well established Asian restaurants and not do business with places that shouldn't be allowed to serve food. The reason being is because you don't know if the food is fresh and how the food is being handled, it's a real common thing to enter these asian restaurants and for the restaurants to smell very badly here in Killeen (not all of them but there are many like the one downtown). This was the straw that broke the Camels back today. Just because you eat something that you think taste good doesn't mean it's fresh, the chicken my second visit showed me that the food isn't fresh.
Great broccoli shrimp
The food is very good. The service is friendly and fast.
I tried this place because of the reviews, trying to have hope I would find a hidden gem in Killeen. I ordered the Thai Tea, Pad Thai, and the Coconut soup. I basically threw $30 in the trash can!!! This was THE WORST Pad Thai I’ve ever had in my life and I know what to expect!! They didn’t even provide the spice that goes with the dish!!! There were barely any scallions and the eggs were old and dried up!! Noodles were a dry, rubbery cluster and all glued together. It definitely wasn’t fresh!! Absolutely NO flavor whatsoever. This was a HUGE let down for me!!! I will never recommend and never return!!! The best part of the meal was the Thai Tea, so I basically paid $30 for a tea. If you think this is the best food ever, you haven’t had this dish properly prepared, because it’s FAR from it. It takes a lot for me to leave a review of this magnitude, but this review was definitely earned.
They don't listen or get orders correct. Be careful you will pay but not given your correct order. Or every thing you paid for. The food is good, but I think they are about quanity vs the quality of getting orders right.
The staff was courteous and the food was on point. My only complaint was the fact that the prices have gone up, making it less likely I will return.
Best Thai food ever! We come to eat almost every week❤️ this is my favorite place to eat in Killeen TX
Very good authentic food thought I was back home would recommend to anyone
A bit pricey but offset by large portions and prepared nicely
One of my favorite restaurant in Killeen so far. Ordered the ginger duck and 3-meat fried rice, with a side of summer rolls. They’re willing to make the meals as spicy as you’d like!
My entire order was wrong I think they gave me someone else’s food. I asked specifically for no onions due to a food allergy, medium spicy chicken pad Thai add shrimp. With the pad Thai I was supposed to get a salad as well instead I got chicken pad Thai no shrimp plan very unflavorful had to add my own spices, onions where in my food and No salad. I order vegetable egg rolls and instead got chicken egg rolls. By far the BEST THAI Resturant to EAT is THAI THAI Resturant! I will never order from this place again. I definitely would never recommend this to any of my friends. Horrible food!!! Which is why I gave it a 1 star if I could go any lower I would.
Food is great!
Great food everytime!
Was disappointed in their claim of the food being authentic.
Good authentic Thai
This is literally the best thai food I've ever had in my entire life!! I had the chicken pad thai and my boyfriend had the drunken noodles with tofu. Genuinely this pad thai might be the most delicious dish I've had in my life. And the server said that they have the pad thai in their buffet on weekdays. So we will be back many times. The server was also super nice and I enjoyed talking to him.
Omg delicious and great customer service
My go to lunch spot, very decent thai food for the area and good price and staff.
My friend found this place on a whim and knows I'm up to trying new things so he brought me here one day and from the looks of the place you think you don't get much but I am so amazed by how amazing the food is! Literally what I picked out everyone was eating off my plate lol. Then this is the place to go, the service is good and the food is great. The price is reasonable with no high prices. What more do you have to ask for.
great curries
Do t remember
One of Killeen's hidden gems.
Better Thai food than I had in Thailand. This food is amazing and the staff is incredibly friendly.
Love the Pad Thai
The pad thai and yellow and green curry and the satsay pork are DELICIOUS!! this is one of the few places that makes real authentic thai food. Well worth the money and you get large portions. food is always HOT and good.
-Only complaint i have is that if we are paying extra for seafood, needs more then 3 little shrimp.
GOOD
I came here because Grandma's Thai Cuisine in Harker Heights, a sister restaurant, is closed for a couple of months. The food here is very good and the person taking my order was very nice and friendly. He engaged in conversation and was funny.
They will adjust most any menu item to accommodate a vegan. This is an awesome consideration for those who are plant based eaters.
Really good Thai food, I always try the Pad Kee Mao at these Thai restaurants. They do a good job. Better than all the ones in Killeen.
Best thai food around here, for sure.
Quality has really gone down
Not gonna lie. I was skeptical at first but when we got our door I was blown away. The guy working the front also was doing a great job. Coming from Colorado I can say I was brought to this restaurant. Thank you!
This is a gem of a place. It is nothing to look at and the inside is nothing special but the food is on point. Portion size is large. The food came out fast, hot and tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant. Order from the menu and you will not be sorry and you will not leave hungry.
Good food and good folks
