Not only are the dishes fresh and authentic, but the portions are very generous. Fabulous food, attentive and friendly staff, and great prices.

Soft rolls had no carrots, cucumber or cilantro. They made plain with rice noodles & lettuce leaf. That’s all the veggies. No peanut sauce, just plain fish sauce with too much garlic. I couldn’t eat it. Pad Thai had good flavor but it was dry. It needs more pad Thai sauce. Even the lime was dry, I couldn’t squeeze a drop out of it. Sticky mango rice was also dry. It needs more coconut milk. It had very very little at the bottom. I feel everything was dry and lack sauce in an effort to save money on ingredients. Disappointed

Ordered the pad see eew, super delicious. Good size, ordered for takeout. Pretty dark inside for my liking, but they did have a very neat fish tank at the entrance. Good flavor/seasoning. Noodles were delicious! They have a patio in front.

They will make sure you have the best experience. If you sit in a booth (which is usually my favorite), you might want to take a cushion to sit on because there are none attached to them. They are just straight up wood. It might be fine for someone with more “junk in the trunk,” but for those who have bony behinds, just sit at a table, not a booth. LOL

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Thai Kitchen with a group of 10 construction workers, and I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The staff did an excellent job of quickly accommodating our group, ensuring that we could get back to work in a timely manner without sacrificing quality. The lunch special was a standout, offering a hearty dish that was both flavorful and satisfying. It also came with a delicious coconut milk soup and a crispy egg roll, which made for a well-rounded meal. The service was efficient and friendly, making it an ideal spot for a quick but enjoyable lunch break. Highly recommend for those in need of a good meal that doesn't waste time!

This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Austin because it is authentic ingredients. I've been going here for many years and noticed some good changes. The front patio is nice and clean - great for outdoor dining and large groups. The lighting is brighter now which makes the place more open and vibrant. I also liked that they updated the menu - everything looks so good. Our food today was delicious and couldn't stop myself. Come get your real Thai food here. Ask for the coconut Thai tea!!!!! So freaking good!!!!

I recently visited Thai Kitchen, and had an excellent dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was packed with authentic flavors, and the balance of spices was spot-on. We tried a variety of items, from the classic Pad Thai to the rich and fragrant Coconut Milk Soup, and each one was cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, and the ingredients felt incredibly fresh.

My parents have been coming to Thai Kitchen since the early 80's. I'm half Thai and this is the only place I go when I want authentic home cooked meals. They have actual Thai grandmas cooking in the back! lol. The portions are freaking huge and prices are still crazy cheap for 2025. This is definitely a hidden gem in my books. They have a large menu selections, reminds me of a Chinese restaurant. I could go on and on about this place.

Been eating here since the mid 80’s, first at William Cannon and IH 35, then Westlake, and now on the drag. We have never been disappointed in the food, ever! Used to see Stevie Ray Vaughan and band at the William Cannon location. Best Tom kha kai soup and pad Thai in Austin. The pad Thai is not sweet and soupy like a lot of places. You can taste the lime and tamarind! The restaurant is not fancy but neither are the prices. Limited wine and beer list, but always great fresh made food! I’ve never had a tough, premade soft spring roll!

Been frequenting this restaurant for over a decade and cannot believe I never left a review. Always the nicest service. I recommend their Tom Yum soup. But you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommend!

I live across the street and generally love Thai food. Their food isn't bad. Why did I only go to this place for one time and never go back? Because they are a BAD neighbor. They have service trucks come to pump something at 2 am routinely, producing an inhumanly loud noise that wakes up the entire neighborhood and lasts for 30 mins. Called the police, filed a compliant, going to confront the owner if this happens again and will not be afraid of taking this to the court. Quiet hours is a thing and it is ILLEGAL to violate it.

Personally, I think they have the best chicken Pad Thai in the city. Just have to ask for extra sauce😉

Tasty food, large portions and great prices. I tried the special dish, as marked on the menu it’s very very spicy, but it’s really delicious! The server helped me to lower the spiciness a little, which helped a lot! Wish they have bubble tea or some Thai tea as well

Absolutely best pad kratium prik thai in Austin (because they do it as a sweet soy style). Try it yourself, get the #7 with chicken extra sauce (lunch menu). It's my favorite, you gotta try it. Pad see ew and pad kee mao are fantastic. #32 combo of chicken/pork/shrimp is also a great standard. Their tom kha soup is great, but I recommend the bowl over the standing firepot thing (it's hard to scoop into it).

Ten years ago this place rocked! I'm editing my 5 star review to 2. I walked in at 9:05. I wasn't aware that they were closed. The dude was extremely rude. You know their food isn't the best but it's been declining. I'm not saying this because the dude was rude, but honestly it has. I didn't update my review before because i liked the place. I dunno about now. Maybe I'll try again later. I also get, read the sign and stuff but it used to be 10. You don't have to be rude. There's nobody in your restaurant, you'd think you could be kind. NOPE. Lost sales and a customer, yet another.

This is my favorite Thai food in Austin. When I was young, it was a birthday restaurant. The beef egg roll is delicious and so are the spring rolls and the pad Thai and the curries are all amazing. Recently I discovered the papaya salad and I love it so much. I miss this place while we are on vacation and I crave it when I am having a hard day.

My mom has been taking me to Thai kitchen since I was a baby (22 years ago).. Tom kha is still my favorite food but it has to be from Thai kitchen! Service is always amazing as well.. sweet and kindhearted people that put their heart and soul into this restaurant.

The dish I ordered she told me wasn’t spicy at all and it’s very spicy- too spicy for me- and I like some spicy, also said it had a lot of vegetables- mostly celery- I wouldn’t of gotten it if I had known that. Sauce not thick enough and the soup way too salty. Very dark and gloomy inside. Only good thing was the waitress were friendly. Too bad- I usually love Thai!

Thai tea tasted like pure sugar syrup, and the beef salad had maybe 2 ounces of tough,over cooked beef and a sea of lettuce. Wouldn’t be as big of a deal if it didn’t cost $12 for such little meat.

Maybe it’s because of what I ordered or maybe I just came on a bad day because other people seem to have had good experiences.

I love their Pad Thai with chicken or with vegetables. Also love the tom kha soup it has coconut milk and lemon grass flavor, can order with chicken or with vegetables (carrots, broccoli, and mushrooms) and tofu.

But there were only two groups seated in the restaurant and they seated us in a booth right next to one couple ..not 6 feet away..during a pandemic. There were plenty of empty tables further away. We fell in love with this family owned restaurant 20 years ago when they were at William Cannon Drive. Since then we always order Nuclear Fishing and other such super tasty and super spicy dishes on their menu. Yesterday we took our kids there and we tried two of their spicy specials (yes, Nuclear Fishing was one of them) and my kids haven't stopped raving about Thai Kitchen.

I was visiting for work from Baltimore and stopped in for dinner. This was some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. I was highly recommend the Thai Chicken Basil if you enjoy spicy food. The owners son served us and was very friendly and personable. He made our night. My friend and I will be back for our next work trip to Austin!

We’ve been ordering from Thai Kitchen for many years, but this time the chicken wings -(which has been a favorite- ) disappointed. From 10 wings , we received only 6 and they left the wing tip on which is unsavory and inferior .

The best Thai food place in Austin. Their spicy food plates like Love and cry and tiger cry are spicy and tasty. Not for the faint hearted though.

Check your receipt before you pay when you dine in. All prices were inflated by $1 when compared to the prices in the menu. I'd imagine most people aren't checking. They tried to blame the server, but they are just pressing menu item buttons, not setting prices. Bait and switch. Used to be an Austin staple, now no longer will return. Spring rolls were still good, but the pad see eww was incredibly sweet, like they dumped in sweet and sour sauce.

I order the chicken Fried Rice with pineapple and cashews. A touch of curry make it exotic with the authentic touch of Thailand tradition. Is a complete dish when you are hungry or desperate 😋😋...delicious.

Wow, I didn't expect it to be this amazing! I got the Pha Nang Gai, the Som Tum Malakor, and the Tom Kha Soup. All of it was very flavorful, perfectly spicy, and not overly sweet. Easily the best Thai food I've had in Austin.

Sadly, several locations have closed over the years but the Drag shop is going strong! Still the very best Thai food in Austin! Absolutely the best Panang in town (honestly even better than that in Thailand itself) so please continue to support this classic Austin eatery and tell your friends! The food here is AMAZING!!!

Ordered the Tom Kah soup TOGO (Favor) which I’ve ordered in the past several times (NOT with favor) and always got it right. I recieved this: A coconut milk and mushroom soup with no coconut milk or mushroom. Just water, lemongrass, green onion and barely any chicken. WITH RICE IN THE SOUP NOT ON THE SIDE. Never order from Favor, they dgaf about to go orders here.

Been eating at and ordering from this restaurant for around 20 years now. I’ll drive half way across town for their food. When I didn’t live in Austin, I always made sure to order Pad Sen Mee with chicken at least once while I was home visiting. That dish from this restaurant will forever be my comfort food! Best spring rolls in town and best Tom Ka. Love Thai Kitchen!

Wow, just ordered from here for the first time on a whim and they did not disappoint. I sampled several things from their menu and everything was on point. Spring rolls were tasty, mango sticky rice was bomb, massaman curry was authentic, no complaints. Will eat here again next time I visit Austin.

Our group didn't find our meals to be to our taste. The Tim Kha soup didn't have any basil or peppers in it so it was just coconut milk, chicken and mushrooms. The masaman curry we found to be very sweet. The yellow curry had cucumbers in it. The pad thai was dry. The portion sizes weren't bad but the flavor wasn't what we were expecting.

The shrimp pad thai was delicious... and the spring rolls are awesome!

Waited two and a half hours to get cold food. Spent fifty bucks. I could have gone to the grocery store, bought the ingredients and cooked myself a better meal in the time

New Year’s Day and I was hoping for some really great chicken and veggies and it ended up being so salty as to be inedible. This used to be my favorite Thai place.

Delicious food. The Cashew Chicken is the best I've ever had, the service was phenomenal and the soup was good too. Everything is clean and fresh.

My favorite Austin Thai! Love the spicy menu especially! This place has been consistently good. It is my family’s go-to takeout for Christmas Eve dinner, a tradition I look forward to every year.

This time I tried the chicken Pad Thai, awesome, not so sweet or tangy, chicken was tender, they add little pieces of peanuts that gives you a tropical flavor sense.
