Intimate, wood-paneled cafe serving traditional Thai curries, stir-fries & other classics with BYOB.
I wanted to support a neighborhood spot. Unfortunately, I'm sorry, I won't be able to again. Maybe I just ordered the wrong stuff at the wrong time? Maybe they thought the one weird order for my daughter meant that nobody liked regular Thai food? Maybe my expectations for Thai food are wrong, or there are regional differences I'm unaware of (I grew up with the Thai restaurants of Southern California) - in which case my apologies for the ill informed opinion.
Regardless, this time none of what we got was to our taste - at all. We had the bad luck to get a chuck of seasoning in our chicken fried rice. Everything tasted off to me. I tried other food at home to make sure in wasn't sick ... but no, it was just the food across three dishes (all chicken), none of it was for us.
I picked the food up to go, so there was no chance for them to correct. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, If you go in person maybe you'll have a better experience?
My Thai Basil Rice with Shrimp with medium heat is (currently eating π) delicious! My go to Thai dish is Pad Thai but decided to try a new dish. Very pleased with flavor - texture of the rice - shrimp plump and cooked to perfection. There was a funny smell in the restaurant (ordered to go) but it did not deter me from ordering and won't keep me from returning. Ticket: $14
Yuck. Avoid. Just, no. We ordered takeout for our family. We really like buying from neighborhood businesses so we were excited to try it after we noticed it. We got meals for 4 for $50 so itβs affordable. Sadly, it really wasnβt edible. I usually love Thai food. These flavors were just not good. All the chicken was super dry. It was so so incredibly sweet. The βspicyβ stuff was just salty. I found a quarter-sized solid rock of MSG in our rice dish. Iβm not a super picky eater but this was kind of shocking. I even threw away the leftovers. I have 2 kids and a budget - We do not throw away leftovers. We got chicken satay, pad thai, chicken fried rice, and another chicken dish that should have been spicy. It was really not edible.
Came to Bangkok Inn on a recommendation. Needed something Vegetarian and they made Vegan Pad See Ew very quickly, I asked for spicy and they were very accommodating. Still fresh after my hour drive home. Friendly, fast, all great. Will be back. βββββ
The food is very tasty and had lots of flavor. The atmosphere is very old and in need of a major update. This place has been around for a very long time based on pictures on the wall and it's obvious they are most focused on serving delicious food. Quick service but not very personable. Would recommend for the food.
Excellent food. Amazing service. Family owned and operated. You couldn't ask for better quality and service. Large portions and reasonably priced
This place is a hidden treasure! My friend lives very close and we dropped in last weekend. I'm glad we did. The food and service was great. We had the corn patties and spring rolls as appetizers and Pad Thai and Pad Se Ew (may be misspelled) all of which was great. I'll be back!

Delicious!
Nice little family owned restaurant that is a Dallas staple. Some of the best Thai food in DFW, this is my go to place whenever I'm craving curry. Excellent service and staff, everyone is passionate and goes above and beyond. A must for anyone who loves Thai food.

I absolutely love this place. Been going to this place for the past 5-6 years now. I discovered it after coming back from Thailand and immediately felt everything was very close to the authentic stuff. The quality has remained the same over the years. I usually get either the Panang Curry or Pad Kee Mow, always hits the spot for me. The Masamman curry and Green curry are great as well. I donβt remember the name shrimp stir fry dish but would recommend folks to give that a try as well. I feel most dishes here are amazing and you canβt really go wrong. The ambience in the restaurant is a little below average since they havenβt upgraded the place but I usually do take out so it doesnβt bother. Give it a try if you are in the area.

Great food! Every dish we had was nice and flavorful and hit the spot. Panang curry, and drunken noodles were tasty, spring rolls & peanut sauce was amazing. Small family owned spot. Interior could use some updates but food was 5βοΈ
Best Thai food I've ever had!! Their Thai dumplings and shrimp fried rice were amazing
Got quick and friendly service to go! The chicken noodles were so good!
This place is awesome. The food is always top notch, the seasonal dishes are creative and just as yummy as the traditional dishes. Daisy is a fantastic human, and I hope this place lasts forever!
Probably the best drunken noodle Iβve ever had. Wonderful staff, small place but it feels very homey.
Small not too noticeable establishment off to the side, but a gem for the locals who know it. Kept in the family since the early eighties is very well ran. Great variety of a menu and very tasty and high quality of food.
Absolutely delicious! Flavors were amazing, service was great, Daisy is a delight
Just awful. This is not great food. Not authentic. Avoid.
Excellent, healthy & authentic food. While I was dining in several patrons were coming in for to-go orders. One can see why this is so popular.
loved the take out from here! great curry and veggie salad rolls!
I donβt like spicy so I always get one of their curry dishes & itβs always amazing
My favorite green curry. I find myself craving it all the time. Highly recommend Bangkok Inn!
Very authentic Thai cuisine. The Tom Ka Gai was so rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The Pork Larb was fantastic. Also tried the Beef Oyster sauce dinner and it was a wonderful dish. Full of flavor. And when you ask for Hot they actually make it Hot. So happy with that. So many do not make it hot enough for me.
Always delicious and excellent service! Best Thai food in Dallas and the green curry is probably one of the best meals I've ever had!
Absolutely incredible! Really enjoyed the Pad King with chicken, spring rolls (loved the peanut sauce!), & Tom Ka Kha soup - wow!
Great food! Good prices and clean bathroom. The Tom Ka was amazing!
Our favorite Thai place for many years. Unpretentious, reasonably priced.
Most fantastic food from the most fabulous family!
We have loved eating at the Bangkok Inn for 30+ years. The next generation has taken over from their parents and are keeping the tradition of delicious food alive and well. Best Pad Thai in Dallas!
First time customer but def not the last. The food was delicious and authentic. Good portion and great price and service.
Best Panang curry. Wish they were open lunch
Portions where really bad for the price
arguably the best Thai food I have ever had the pleasure of having.
The service was AMAZING but the noodles were soggy...
Weβve been going to Bangkok Inn for at least 15 years and we absolutely love it. The food is wonderful, and the family who owns it is too. 100% recommend.
This is a small restaurant but with big flavors!! We were more were more satisfied. The only problem was that they were clearly short staffed. I felt like we had no time to look or decide bc the poor lady was running like the kitchen was on fire. I can't hold that against them. I've heard it has been there for the past 50 yrs, and I think iys important important support those small businesses. Check em out!
Bangkok Inn is for family dinner almost weekly!! We love it here. The family that runs it is friendly and extremely talented at cooking. We love to split the appetizers (corn patties, dumplings, fried tofu, and the egg rolls are our go to). The pad Thai and peanut chicken are the best we have ever had. The pineapple fried rice is my husband's favorite. We have never had a dish here that we didn't absolute love! Plus it's BYOB and they provide the glasses!! π₯π· They do dine in, carryout, and delivery!!! 10/10 must eat here right now!!
The very best Thai food. small and family owned.we love this place
Great food great staff wonderful experience
Thai hidden gem in Lakewood
Hands down favorite Thai place in Dallas. We order here every couple weeks and it never disappoints. Family run establishment and they're all super nice! Very reasonable prices too! Definitely a hidden gem in Dallas.
Best hole in the wall Thai food. Not a wallet breaker, and service was excellent. If your looking for something different and filling definitely try this restaurant.
Tried the yellow and red curries with beef. This is one of the more flavorful curries I've had in the area, I prefer Thai Monkey in Irving tho, but it is probably a close second behind that. The beef was not very good tho, it seemed very different than what other Thai places use, kind of gamey and stringy and dry. I've never eaten around the meat in a curry, normally the meat would be my favorite part but it just wasn't great. Also asked for one curry to be spicy but it came medium like the other. The flavor of the red pineapple curry was great but I wasn't a big fan of anything in it other than the sauce, so I would say get the panang over the red pineapple curry.
Good place!
Staff was very friendly and the food was really good!
The food is very tasty and had lots of flavor. The atmosphere is very old and in need of a major update. This place has been around for a very long time based on pictures on the wall and it's obvious they are most focused on serving delicious food. Quick service but not very personable. Would recommend for the food.
Excellent, fresh and friendly
Love the cottage atmosphere. Quaint and simple. SUPERB Thai food. Superb customer service. EXTREMELY friendly. My new Thai go to for food!
I ordered chicken and pork fried rice take out, but only was chicken in the fried rice. The lady there seemed in hurry to get money. The food tasted below average for the price. Not recommended.
Neighborhood family-run institution. Used to eat here all the time 30 years ago before moving. Recently rediscovered it, STILL some of the best Thai in Dallas.
I only get fries from here since I donβt eat meat. Their service is great and everyone is peak with is always very friendly.
Remember to be polite and kind to the workers because they work hard and have to deal with much more than we imagine. This location specifically is a great location!
One of the oldest family run Thai place in town. I've been going there for over 30 years and now the babies I knew are running it.
Wonton so sweet I pored it out. Fried rice and way over sweet. None to be sweet. Nice waitstaff
Always the best food, and our waitress, Daisy is the best and sweetest in Dallas, always feel great having gone, this family has one awesome place to eat
thai food, mmm, so delicious. it's so tasty. i'll return with my friends.
Good food, good value.
Best Thai in Dallas!
Consistently amazing and affordable food!
Bangkok Inn is the place to go for the best Thai food in Dallas, or Texas for that matter. They truly deserve the highest regard for what they bring to the table.
It was alright. Good prices, decent food. nothing to write home about.
Not that good, looked and tasted like frozen food
Great food!
Surprisingly good Thai food in a small hole in the wall restaurant. I can't wait to go back.
Always good. Great place for lunch. Work across the street and most of us get lunch there on a carry out basis.
Hands down the best pad Thai I've ever had.
The food was very good..service impeccable..price was right...my only suggestion would be a little ambiance...maybe table cloths or just add a little charm to that wonderful meal they serve!
The BEST customer service and awesome Thai food!!! Chuck really rolls out the red carpet for each individual customer and very personable!!!
Good food with good prices, especially during lunch! Their portion is an expected amount for a lunch portion, but for $7 itβs a great deal! Their chili sauce is good and food is ready relatively quickly. Their hot and spicy chicken is pretty good, but I wish their menu was more clear. It doesnβt include much detail about whatβs included in the meal. Their website is also hard to follow, especially the menu.
My go to place for Thai food.
Great Thai Food!
Great food with clean flavors. Only order the corn patties if you have someone else to share them with. No joke; they can be a meal unto themselves.
This was the worst Thai food Iβve ever had. The Pad Thai was flavorless, had next to no veggies in it, and the Tom Kha soup tasted like spoiled milk with mushrooms in it. The only decent thing that was edible was the spring rolls.
Update: Definitely got sick after eating this. Just donβt go there.
Great food! Well prepared, fresh. Excellent vegetarian options, Tom Yam Kha, curries and stir fry with veggies and tofu.
My wife and I have been wanting to check this place out for some time now we finally stopped in for lunch with our kids and I'm glad we did.great friendly service and everything was made fresh. Our meals were so good I had to try everything we ordered liked it all but I liked my spicy curry noodles the most. We will definitely be back
Not that great but okay. Wouldn't run back
Amazing! The pad seo ew is delicious
Love this neighborhood gem --->
I have been coming here for years. The good is so authentic and you can tell it's made with love. They use their grandmothers recipes and she is usually there. It's family owned and the ingredients are always fresh. Not to mention the price- less than $10 for lunch with appetizer and Thai tea. I also like that they don't give me grief about substituting coconut milk for heavy cream in the Thai tea, they even suggest it. I have been coming here for over ten years and have never been disappointed. If you want authentic taste with fresh ingredients and a smile this is the place.
Everything is amazing here. Corn pattyβs and pad Thai are a MUST
Good food, family managed. Authentic Thai
Food is always delicious!
This is among the first Thai restaurants in Dallas. Now run by the children of the original owners they serve authentic Thai cuisine that is wonderful. It is a gem in the lower Greenville/Lakewood area and well worth the trip.
Enjoyed a lunch today of Delightful Thai food. Family owned and run. Our very pleasant waitstaff said his parents opened it in 1983 and they still use family recipes ! Clean, easygoing atmosphere too.
Went there years ago and remembered good food. Not so now. The wait staff was nice and accommodating but the food was awful. There were only about 6-7 people there when I was..on a Sunday evening, early.
Always enjoy their spin on Thai! LOVE their soup pot!
Great family run restaurant. Fast and delicious
Fast and good service. Small joint.
Great food and friendly staff! Extra bonus because its byob!
Loved the noodles and the Mas Su Man.
The people working here were nice and the restaurant was clean and had a good vibe. However I can not justify giving this place more the 2 stars, because unfortunately my husband and I ordered the pad Thai here, it looked and smelled good, however it was too sweet with 0 spice in it even though I ordered spicy and he ordered βnative Thai spiceβ. That alone wouldnβt make me leave such a low rating, however I am 98% positive that the food gave us both food poisoning, my husband was sick for hours and couldnβt even leave the bathroom and I also experienced similar issues; but less severe then he had it. The only reason I am not 100% positive that it was food poisoning is because we didnβt go to a doctor to find out for sure. Iβve never had food poisoning before until now. But it sure as heck seemed like it. We didnβt get sick until after we ate the food and we were fine about 24 hours later after a lot of puking and uh other bathroom issues that Iβd rather not write on a website about food. $25 to get sick; no thanks. Despite the nice people who work here we will not be back; I donβt want to ever get sick like that again, and I donβt like seeing my husband being so sick.
It pains me to write this review because this place used to be great - about 8 years ago. I recently ordered fried rice and the veggies were almost certainly out of a birds eye frozen veggie bag (see pic). No flavor. Just some warmed up frozen veggies and sauteed rice and oil

We called after looking over their menu online and asked about vegan options (which they have a lot of!) and they were super helpful. We ordered through Favor and when we got the food we realized we didnβt receive one of our entrees, but it really wasnβt a big deal because we had ordered some other stuff. We then called to let them know, and they personally brought the missing item soon after even though it wasnβt delivery hours. They were very sweet and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend!
Good reasonable price thai food
The best pad thai! very authentic and great staff!
Always delightful food and incredible service. I wish it were more convenient for me...I would go more often.
A neighborhood gem serving excellent Thai. Family owned and operated, using mom and dad's recipes these folks go out of their way to make you happy and satisfied.. all for a very affordable price.
stopped by with some friends. charming spot with excellent food and service; surprisingly quiet, but it might have been the timing, rain. will definitely be coming back.
love to apo/granny!
Below average for me.
First time here with my girlfriend and we both had the pad thai and I could of eaten two servings. Servers should be more friendly or personable. Thai coffee and fried banana with ice cream was the best part of the whole experience.
Used to come here years ago and loved it. Stopped by for dinner and it wasn't the same. Just wasn't as tasty.
Been going here for years. It's a standby for us. Are there better Thai places in the city? Perhaps, but location, price point and staff keep us coming back!
Great place for Thai food. Great prices, quiet and quaint place. Nice selection of lunch specials and great prices. Service is always quick and staff is friendly, like they are happy to see you.
I absolutely do not recommend eating here. The floors are very dirty plus my husbandβs plate included an animal, it was disgusting. When we told the lady who was making the check for us she very rudely came to the table analyzed the animal and without saying a word she just re did our check without charging us the plate and again without a single word she placed the new check on our table and left. I would expect at least an βI am sorry, this has never happen beforeβ or something not that rude. Horrible experience I almost vomit when I saw my husband taking the animal out of his noodles and obviously stopped eating mine. Bad food bad service nothing to see or do here go somewhere else. ππΌππΌππΌππΌππΌππΌ
Very good Thai tea and spicy shrimp! This place is warm and friendly.
Chicken with basil is my favorite! Lemmon grass soup is the best.
Best Thai food in Dallas!
Family run restaurant that is a staple of the neighborhood. Food always fresh, served with a smile by the children of the founders. They don't serve alcohol, but allow customers to bring in their own.
The staff here seriously deserves a gold medal. They are always busy and on top of that great service, humble, nice, great food and price too! If I could give 6 stars I would.
Good soups.
The red curry with basil and pineapple was amazing. Service super friendly and helpful with recommendation. Value for the price topped it all off.
Great service and good lunch specials. The drunken noodles with tofu was great. I was unsure at first because it had bean sprouts but this addition added a crunchy texture that went well with the drunken noodle.
My fave neighborhood spot
Great food!
I like this place. Great Food. BYOB. Great prices. Hole in the Wall, yet awesome. Highly recommended
This is the kind of Mom'n'Pop restaurant with which I grew up: great service, homecooking, and a quiet atmosphere devoid of banal muzak and eye-popping or kitsch wall art. Please do try it! order the Thai tea and something special. Bring your own wine if desired. Sit and enjoy alone or with quiet friends.
Little but well worth the trip.
We love Bangkok Inn, it's our favorite Thai restaurant. They have the best green curry chicken, corn patties, sticky rice & jasmine tea around. Delicious!
Always excellent!
Muy bueno!!! Muy recomendable!!!
Love this family owned gem. Especially coconut soup and panang curry.
been going here since before I was born, my parents had their first date here lmaooo
all the food is good and their sticky rice is to die for.
Lakewood's best family owned Thai restaurant.
Great value and excellent service. Perfect local BYOB place.
This place is a hidden treasure! My friend lives very close and we dropped in last weekend. I'm glad we did. The food and service was great. We had the corn patties and spring rolls as appetizers and Pad Thai and Pad Se Ew (may be misspelled) all of which was great. I'll be back!
Best Thai in Dallas!
Amazing food and the staff is great. I have been dining here with my family for over 20 years!.
Top notch service and value. My mom has been eating at this family owned restaurant since before she knew my dad, so I've been raised on this gem. The Pad Thai is hands down the best I've ever had because "Mom" soaks the spices like the old country, as opposed to store bought blandness. Give it a try, especially for their excellent lunch specials!
Awwwwesome little spot tucked back in a neighborhood like a little jewel!
In a word, YUM!!! Best Thai in Dallas by far!
Great food! ! :-)
