Stopped by with a few co workers for lunch one day. We came around 1115-1130 and were able to sit down right away. You're greeted with a complimentary bowl of broth as well as a small spring roll with a side of a dipping sauce that had a nice fruity sweetness to it. The broth was good and the spring roll was delicious. I ordered the yellow curry with no spice and it came out quickly and was delicious. Service was always checking in and when we were finished we paid at the counter. Will definitely be back again, the yellow curry was great.
This was originally Mango Tree so there are big shoes to fill. I ordered the Tom yum soup and pad Thai. These are staples at any Thai restaurant. Sadly the Tom yum was bland, lacking authentic flavors. The pad Thai was also a miss. Noodles were messy, flavors were off and it was just sweet.
Mango tree, how I miss you.
Came back again and tried the Tom Kha soup. It was okay although there was too much of one of the aromatics, maybe the galangal. Also tried the yellow curry. Again something was throwing me off with an unbalance of spice. Overall it’s okay.
Good location. Easy to go there. Busy at lunch time. Food is a decent basil fried rice. I asked for thai spicy, came in mild. Either they dont have it or the waiter just ignored it. Taste is ok could add a little bit salt and pepper. Portion is a big portion for 1 person and lincj, so it's an awesome portion.
The food comes with a bowl of soup and egg roll. $16+tax.
The place is packed lunch time, so come early for sure. The place is clean amd not smelly. I will be back for lunch
Used to be good, but the quality has dropped. I came for lunch, ordered crab fried rice, and Tom Yum to share. The fried rice was damp and flavorless, even though we asked for it spicy—it came out bland. The Tom Yum, a Thai staple, tasted like canned, diluted tomato soup with no hint of galangal or lemongrass. I used to come here often last year, but the food quality has definitely gone down.
I tried Folk Thai Kitchen for the first time this week. I had the Shrimp and Crab fried rice and a strawberry lemonade. The rice was delicious, there was a lot of shredded crab and huge shrimp. The complimentary soup and spring roll was fantastic. It was very busy for lunch and the service was very good. I’ll be back for sure!
The customer service was friendly, responsive, and quick. We ordered the:
1. Chicken Pad Thai - this dish was prepared well and very tasty.
2. Spicy cheese roll - this was delicious :)!
3. Chicken Yellow curry - this dish had a lot of flavor and great richness to the broth. Would order again, highly recommend!
4. Veggie spring roll - this was ok needs a little more vegetable.
5. Chicken Red curry - this dish also had a lot of flavor and richness. The spice level was perfect would highly recommend.
If you are familiar with Mango Tree, which was the previous name they went by, it's very similar to how it was before. They renovated the inside which was nice to see but the food was almost identical to before, which was/is pretty good but nothing earth shattering.
The biggest issue we had was it was kind of a challenge to order and the food is kinda on the higher end price wise for what it is. Recommend you get there before noon to have a higher chance of getting a table. Also recommend the yellow curry.

Would not go back. The food was not great.

Good food, fast service. A bit expensive
Excellent
waited 30 minutes for my food while everyone ate their lunch. Not once did they come by to refill our water or check on the table. Had asked twice to get my order...
Excellent Thai food.
Very busy
I’ve never been to a thai restaurant with a friendlier hostess. She was so nice and respectful, made my day! The food was AMAZING! Red curry, tom kha soup, perfection! I was visiting from Phoenix, and they served me with the best meal of my trip!
Clean place with decent ambience. It's right on the street without having to go into the tunnels. However, the food is not very good. It is mediocre, at best.
Great food
Not good for lunchtime.. busy....
The pickup order was incorrect but nonetheless the food was delicious and worth the wait.
Very welcome Thai restaurant in downtown Houston where it's not easy to find places to eat in the evening. Friendly service, simple menu and tasty food and good prices. Definitely recommended.
We stumbled in here on a Friday evening and we were blown away. The food was amazing and super fresh!!! Great experience.

Best Thai food in H-Town.
Delicious flavors. You can tell the ingredients are fresh. I ordered the Tom Kah soup. It was delicious! Servers are very friendly and nice. Space is very clean and peaceful. Will definitely come back.
In one word, Excellent. The food was delicious, and the portions were plenty. I tried the Sweet and Sour pork with Steamed Rice and an order of Vegie Rolls. Fantastic. Definitely will visit again.
We were visiting from Mississippi. We ordered the crab fried rice and the sticky rice dessert. The food was delicious and the young lady that served us was a sweet heart ❤️. They give you plenty of food .
It was nice that we got an egg roll and a soup appetizer with each meal, overall it was just ok. It replaced Mango Tree Thai restaurant, but didn’t replicate the quality. Mango tree also provided a small soup with the egg roll, which were just ok. The egg roll was a big soggy and the soup was mostly corn at. Todays lunch was just ok. However I do appreciate that they replaced the bell peppers with broccoli at my request.
There are days when you want some good spicy Thai food, and I have to say this is not the place. I ordered the $23 Basil Fried Rice with Shrimp and Crab (Spicy) to go. No crab in it, 3 pieces of shrimp, and not spicy. It's sad also, because I've been here 3 other occasions with no issue. The service is good, and it's a nice place if you're dining in. Sad to see the food quality drop.
My go to for Thai when in Houston for work.
Some of the tables spaced a li'l tight.
i was there during the lunch hours, no doubt which was busy. i order a hot and sour soup togo and cost me ten dollars. very pricey compare to in the tunnal will only cost six for the same size and the rest of dishes cost average 15 to 20 percent more compare others. to me, the taste just average. but NOT for the price i paid. will not going back.
Pretty descent!
Food and service was very good on my first and only trip, so far.
The food is pretty good and if that is the place closest to you by all means but the price for the food and the portions doesn't correspond. You are basically paying for the place down town.
The food was amazing!!! I am a vegetarian and i tried The veg spring rolls and panang curry - spicy it was straight on! Will highly recommend the place and will go again.
Took the team for lunch. We were warned that as a chef is out, anything fried will take time. Firstly, my meal was last to arrive. Then I was given the food and the check for neighboring table. Lastly, I was handed the check even before I finished my meal.
Inconsistent food and the price is too high. For an appetizer of four small cheese rolls, it's $10! I have ordered the same tofu dish multiple times; each time it has come out tasting and looking completely different from the last. Good place to eat once in awhile but probably won't make it part of the regular rotation. I will say the staff is very nice and always helpful and friendly.
Great food and exceptional service.

Delicious quick thai food for lunch in downtown Houston. I was very impressed , food was very tasty for thai food fusions and lucky me got to try the cream brûlée on the house that the owner just made. The inside restaurant was very nice, clean and well designed. I would highly recommended!!
Great place to eat, very nice people, great service looking forward to the next time.
Downtown gem for thai food.. don’t get the spicy option if you can’t handle spice.. it’s thai spicy so beware !! Tried the pad thai , yellow curry and panang curry both are good.. prefer yellow curry to panang and pad thai was good .. also like the welcome soup and starter :)
Tasteful chicken pad see ew, not the best I ever had but still quality. Came early on a Friday night, service was extremely quick and they were kind. I ordered the mild but asked for spice on the side so I could manage the spice and added just a little to make it perfect.
LONG WAIT
