An extensive menu of traditional Thai dishes from a popular, colorful local chain.
OMG, this Madam Mams location has the best food and best portions. Our server was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu, they helped us pick out the plates. We ordered the recommendations, and they did not disappoint at all. We ordered the NS16 Kao Soi and F13 Bankrupt Noodles. The Kao Soi was a very big plate, very heavy, so if you like to eat a lot, or have enough leftovers to take home, this is a plate for you. The bankrupt noodles were to die for, I am in love with this plate and will definitely be coming back to order it again. Best thing on the menu, hands-down. The location is in West campus, so it’s a great option for university students. Parking wasn’t so great because of the area.
First time here a couple of weeks ago with a friend. Very tasty and enjoyable. Brussel sprouts were excellent. Will return.
The food was great quality. Their tofu was very great. The size of each dish is pretty big so you'll leave with a full stomach.
The waiting time was a few minutes, I was impressed by how fast the service was.
Just a short walking distance from the UT campus.
The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. A bit pricy but the quality of the food really compensates for it.
The only good dish was the edadame. The noodles, rice and soup were far off from being Thai. It tastes more like someone who just started cooking Thai food following a recipe - far from being authentic. At some point also a little off putting.
The worst part was the sake - I have never tasted anything this artificial… extremely low quality… I wonder if restaurants are even allowed to sell it. Not pleasant at all is the best I can say.
Lastly, the service wasn’t the best.
I can tell it’s a campus quick diner, but the food is terrible for the price. Even if the portions are big, it is absolutely not worth a cent.
In case you don’t know this spot. Let me introduce you,Madam Ma’am’s this is my friend Austin!!! Besides the portions being massive the deliciousness-ess that is Madam it also has a delightful Thai Tea. Stop wondering if you should try It, COME!!! You won’t regret it, oh and did I mention Fantastic Service!!
First time here a couple of weeks ago with a friend. Very tasty and enjoyable. Brussel sprouts were excellent. Will return.
Food was really mediocre, bordering on bad. Plenty of sauce for the pad Thai but minimal flavor. I did takeout, but it looks like a comfortable atmosphere.
Spring rolls are very yummy!
not too great, dishes are a little bit too sweet. portions are pretty big so that makes up for the price.
1. Industrial pepper, got throat hurts after eating the food.
2. no services, sticky table
3. Overpriced
Do not recommend this place.
Amazing chicken Pad Thai with the best sauce in Austin!!!!
Best Thai in austin hands down
My guests from Dallas area wanted to have Thai lunch. My wife suggested Madam Mam’s. My guests and I were totally satisfied with authentic food and pleasant service.
i had to wait 30 minutes for my food which wasn't even good it was mid af
Only place in Wampus that failed an health inspection twice. Also the only place I've gotten food poisoning ever, and that's also happened twice
Continuous to be a staple in the Austin food sphere !!
Amazing food. Not so crowded atmosphere. Quantity is generally more than what one can eat in a single meal 😁
Vegetarian and vegan options are available.
I’m a regular customer at Madam man’s but was really disappointed with the panang curry with tofu that I ordered for dinner. For starters, the curry base for watery and flavourless, there were no vegetables and the tofu chunks were uncut. Ruined my mood!
The food was very tasty but the portions too small.
For the price charged feel like the portions should not be sized for senior citizens.
Also the parking is completely nonexistent
Got overcharged by ten bucks :(
Ordered from Uber eats here, they cancelled the order after waiting for an hour. Don’t use the platform if you can’t keep up.
I'm an old school Madam Mam's and Saps fan and I was not impressed with this restaurant. The ambiance is designed for students which is appropriate. But there is something depressing and Soviet era about the interior and layout. Again I used to love love this restaurant and this time the food just fell flat. Either over or under seasoned. Also our server didn't speak English which always hampers the concept of service a bit.
This place has comforting and flavorful Thai food. The brusselsprouts are the best I’ve ever had and you can get wings with the same sauce (sweet Siam). The green curry and pad see ew are great as well and are very big. The chili oil (not pictured) makes everything better.
Outstanding food.
This was my first time trying Madam Man’s and it was delicious! Friendly staff, quick service, large portions and good food. Everything is fairly priced and the portions are large. I had the Bankrupt noodles and they were great! We also tried NS16 Kai Soi and it was delicious. House fried rice was a safe bet too. They have lots of gluten free and vegetarian options. Parking may be difficult because it is in west campus. They have some beer and wine available when you dine in which was a nice surprise. It is counter service so a more laid back feel than some restaurants, which is great for a restaurant so close to campus. Overall highly recommend
Ordered Pad Kee Mao with chicken, side of mixed vegetables, side of mixed seafood, and a peach jelly sake. Ordered at 9:31 and received food at 10:04pm.
1) Pad Kee Mao was not spicy, noodles were obviously undercooked, and the seasoning was not authentic. The most off putting was definitely how undercooked the noodles were.
2) Side of mixed seafood was supposed to come with 2pc squid, 2pc mussel, 2pc shrimp, and 2pc scallop. Instead, we got 4pc squid and 4pc shrimp, which are literally the cheaper cuts of the 4 types of seafood. Was not informed there were substitutions, and was very disappointed.
3) Peach Jelly Sake never came, and had to ask for it.
All in all, after a 30 minute wait for our food, it was undercooked, substituted, and forgotten. Would not come here again, ruined my night.
The restaurant was also very humid, but that’s hard for the restaurant to control.
Been coming here for 17 years and the food is still delicious. There is never a wait. The staff usually gets to know us and make the visit easier and more enjoyable. They have recently shifted to counter service and smaller portions, but it’s still a great place if you are near Ut campus. I love P15- stir fry pepper and onion dish, but their curries and pad Thai are also excellent.
EDIT- the more typical generous portion sizes seem to be back! hooray. Great tasting food and reasonably prized for the amount you get.
Great food and service.
Wow. Unbelievably bad experience. Short story: they forgot to put my order in when I called in an order and accused me of lying about it when I came to pick it up. If you want to buy their food, make sure you order online.
Long story: I called in an order. I came to pick it up. I asked about the order. FOH person went to the kitchen to check on it. When they came back they immediately started talking to the person behind me without acknowledging me. When they were done with them I asked them what the deal was. “5-10 more minutes” they said. I wait 10 minutes. I ask if I can just pay for the order so that I can leave as soon as it’s ready. Answer: “Yeah sure… what was you’re order again?” I tell them. “Hmm I don’t see it.” They call the manager over. The manager: “Did you call the right location? We have 4.” (I used the number of the place I navigated to on maps… and yes I double checked their website afterwards). Manager: “Show me your phone.” My phone had died. “Wow, isn’t that convenient. Hahahaha.” So after being gaslit and laughed at I decided I’d go somewhere else. I know, how petty of me. So 5 stars worth of weaponized incompetence.
No ac, slow, expensive, delicious
We were staying at the hotel across the street and decided to get take out. It came in styrofoam, which is always disappointing, and had no utensils or napkins which made eating I'm our room a challenge. I ordered the pad-se-ew, which tasted nothing like pad-se-ew. It had a really burnt taste and no sweetness. Also, it has large (bigger than bite sized) raw stalks of broccoli (no florets). They were to large and hard to even try to eat. I ended up having to throw the meal away, which was sad... 😞😢
Great college town dig. Loved the food and the taste. Nice staff
The food is mediocre. I’m a huge fan of Thai food and this was just lackluster.
The waitress serving me (Cypher) was super friendly, and great, and nice, and made the whole experience of getting food here AMAZING.
OMG! Had a great time here. Food is amazing and so was the service. Special shout out to our server Cypher! She was so attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed.
Very nice service!!!
Been eating here weekly 10+ years. This location is terrible to order takeout from compared to others now. The quality of meat (if they give you any) is now rice thin shredded strips. You have to order double meat to get equivalent to what you used to get and even then it’s these barely edible shredded strips. My dish is a cashew dish for example and only had 2 cashews which has never happened. Both deliveries in last two weeks were like this. No other location is like this. Order from other locations
The food is amazinggg! The beef pad sea-ew was so delicious and the workers were very nice!
The food is delicious. I’ve tried most of the menu here and everything is good.
I love the new modern field about the Restaurant, the services amazing immaculate the food Exquisite Wood recommend for anybody that's in the area or just visiting Austin in general
The manager is very kind. Food was really without flavor. Rice was hard, and they charged me for the meat and didn't add it. $16dlls for uncooked rice, they barely add the listed ingredients for fried rice.
No AC, counter service instead of a waiter or waitress. Psh...unreal!!! Food slaps tho.
Great food.
Extremely overpriced and low quality food. Used to be good, but there’s been a nose dive in the quality of the dishes since COVID.
We ordered through door dash and the pad see ew seemed bad, the taste was off without a doubt to where we couldn’t eat it. Everything else was fine.
The food and service is amazing. I love to get the street fried rice with beef with spicy level 3. If you are not a big fan of spice you can also get it that way. They are happy to customize the dish to your liking
Super friendly staff, great food. P47 one of my most favorite dishes of all time. Also perfect takeout place.
I thoroughly enjoy visiting this place because of its generous portions and reasonable prices. The staff members are exceptionally friendly, and the establishment maintains a high level of cleanliness. The cuisine is not only delicious, with my personal favorite being the Pad Sea-Ew, but it also offers great value for the price.
had the pad thai & mango sticky rice & it was good! also good they had outdoor seating & vegetarian options!
was sad they didnt have sweet tea when I was there; hope they will next time!
The atmosphere was great and the P47 Kirk gang was very great some of the best curry intense flavor. The guy Cashier was very nice and I'm glad to be making this place one of my regulars!
Fast and efficient
Been coming to madam ma’am’s since they first opened. Best Thai food in town!
The food is so so so so good. Alexis the server was great
Best service from Alexis! Amazing food!! Love it here:)
Casual atmosphere, but the food is always great here. It really hit the spot and I will return again soon. Love Madam Mam’s.
my fried rice was good
Great customer service! Very friendly and great food.
Great food!
This place is an interesting one to eat at. The music and ordering sets the mood for you to mingle with your friends and talk. Theres a good portion food for anything you order and are pretty full after it. If you want a casual meal that won't break the bank ($10 to $20), this place would be an ideal one to try it.
Love it
Drunken noodles were delicious. Team was amazing, and portions are huge!
ordered takeout. Online thing says that order is ready for pick up. I show up, it's not ready yet.
Further portions were really small. Inflation is an issue so maybe they just don't want to raise their prices but I don't feel it was a great value all things considered.
I ordered food when I was on the brink of starvation and only wanted a good, hearty pad see ew to fill me up. Unfortunately, the noodles were dry and tasteless; it was utterly underwhelming. The portion of protein was also small, and there wasn't much of the Chinese broccoli in the dish. I was very disappointed in how bland their pad see ew was.
On the upside, my friend greatly enjoyed the beef kao soi. It was a decent sized portion and the curry tasted flavorful.
Madam Mam's is quite inconsistent - it's hit or miss with the quality of food. Good luck if you decide to eat here!
Great food
Terrible food...couldn't complete my meal due to the taste..
Good Green Curry
I only moved to Austin recently and I was reccomended Madam Mam's, among many other restaurants. This is easily my new favorite spot in town and I'm absolutely obsessed with their Bankrupt Noodles! I can't reccomend it enough.
The best Thai food in Austin, consistently delicious for the last 5 years that we've frequented this place! Always a satisfying experience, even when trying new dishes from the wide variety!
As a Thai person, the Pad Thai was not good and the Pad See Aew was not good either
Terrible service. We are a party of 9. Waited more than 20mins for the food when there are no other customers. And they gave us the wrong food. Never refill our water or paper towels. I guess you don't need to give the best service when 18% gratituity is default for party larger than 6.
Ordered off favor recently and idk if it’s just this location or all of them but this isn’t the Madam Mam’s I know. I got the chicken pad Thai and it’s like a where’s Waldo book trying to find the chicken in this thing. I’m currently finishing the leftovers from Saturday, and I’ve had about 3 reasonable bite sized pieces of chicken total. Everything else is crumbs.
If I could give Madam Mam a kidney I would
Went in today with the brightest smiles on all the employees faces. They immediately sat be down and asked if need anything. They were quick to take my order and bring the food out. I loved this place I came by for a quick lunch before classes and tried the pat sea ew and honestly was so good. The food was as amazing as the service overall excellent place to go to for a quick bit e as a college student or touring Austin!
I came for an early dinner. I sat for a long time without anybody coming to take my order. I watched as anywhere between 2 and 4 of the staff were at the register just chatting but nobody came to my table. I was occupying one of only two tables with people there. It's not like it was busy. One employee walked by me on two different occasions and each time I said "excuse me"; but, both times they ignored me and kept on going. Another of the staff went to the table next to me and when she was finished speaking with the table I said, "excuse me! I'd like to order". This employee said, "I'll come back" and walked away. They didn't come back. I got up and left. I've never been ignored at a restaurant before. This might be the first where I left hungry.
I’ve been meaning to try this place for awhile now and finally went here for lunch. Definitely kicking myself for not trying this place sooner! Great food at a reasonable price considering it’s so close to campus. The staff were friendly and efficient, I found the decor slightly lacking but it didn’t hamper my experience at all. Highly recommend!
Insanely good food. There was a bit of a wait but the food was well worth it. Would recommend.
Great food, fast service.
I went here about 2 days ago and had the most amazing service and the food was amazing! I will be definitely be recommending this place to others!
This place is so good,, the food is so amazing and done to perfection, I had no trouble with any of my food, the service is magnificent I was treated with respect and I felt well treated. The area so so comforting as well! There is so much light and it feels nice being able to look outside.
The waiter came and told that it’s out of order yet we were billed for that. There was an item with or without bacon. I asked not to add bacon because I never eat bacon. After tasting the food I found bacon in it. After complaining the owner was shouting at the stuff loudly. The environment was also noisy. Ruined our dinner.
They were busy. I got it, but no one came to take our order and we had to ask for our drinks, too. Overall the food was great and huge servings for a reasonable price. We hope next time we go, the service will be better.
Conveniently located. Decently priced. Tasty food. Average serving sizes. Few vegetarian options. The spring rolls are amazing though.
Some dishes had too much turmeric flavour.
Awesome food
Madam mam’s my favorite Thai restaurant but I am disappointed today, I ordered panang Curry with beef was not good, I had this dish before and was very good.
Poor service, the other locations are better in every levels
I had a rice dish . Tofu was fried in old oil .the 2 veggies were a can of peas and carrots . Just awful
3 times ordered thru uber. Asked for chilli paste and plates. It looks like they never read their orders. Awful. Lousy service.
Cheap price, quick service, large portions, excellent flavor.
I used to get Madam Mam's pretty frequently, but I recently realized that most of their noodle dishes are cooked in a fish sauce, making all of them not vegetarian-friendly. I had been eating here for enough time that it honestly felt a little useless to care, but their menu does not explicitly say that these dishes are not vegetarian, so be aware.
Great food and atmosphere
Too much food less quality
The Green curry was way too salty, but at least it was edible. The Pad Ped Ga-Prao was so over salted it was absolutely inedible. It was as if an entire bottle of fish sauce went into my order. Absolutely unacceptable
Delicious tasty food. Enjoyed my lunch with my daughter.
Pad Thai kinda mid tho💀
Tastes like ketchup
Can confirm pad thai tastes like ketch up& tofu is definite bad because it has a bad sour flavor and a bitter after taste. I would’ve gotten food poisoning if I did not stop eating. Definitely will not come back.
The curry is average. But rice is soggy and mushy.. Place has gone downhill, apparently.
Oh man excellent food, great service, you must come down and visit, I promise you won't be disappointed
great service, server was man with glasses. loved the p1 fried rice!
Terrible customer service. Not at all comfy seating. They don’t care about customers and they’re on their phones more than attending customers.
Will never go back!
Great food! The bankrupt noodle with tofu is my favorite.
No wait time due to it being less than a quarter filled. You definitely felt as if the waitstaff did not want to be at work. Everyone enjoyed the plate they ordered.
Crab fried rice had shells in it and was not at level of spice I requested. The spring rolls were old and inedible. I still have the crab fried rice so that I can take the resturant inspector tomorrow. Unsafe to eat and uber would not help.
I ordered online and scheduled it for 9:20. The restaurant called and asked if I was coming, I said I was on my way. I arrived at 9:29 and the doors were locked and all the lights were off and I couldn’t get my order. It says y’all close at 9:45 and was not told about any early closings during the phone call
Terrible customer service. Gave Uber Eats the wrong order and then asked for me to bring it back.
Great find. Good food and ambiance.
Delicious food from the Brussel sprouts to the pad see ew and the house rice. Everything is 10/10.
Rude staff
Just as good as the one off of Anderson Lane. Good Thai food, wine, prices and portions. This location servi e is just a bit slow, and still sweet. I'll go back here again.
Food was decent, wait staff was very friendly and nice, portions are great as a college student trying to make my money last
The food was amazing, they seemed really understaffed so the service was pretty slow
I’ve eaten here a few times and am always underwhelmed. The fried rice is really mushy and bland and the Pad Thai has an odd chemical taste at times. The location is great and staff is nice but the food is just not worth it.
This is a hidden gem over in the West Campus area (just north of the San Jacinto garage). They have indoor seating, outdoor patio seating, and covered outdoor along the sidewalk seating. The menu selection is your typical Thai variety with spice levels one through five marked on the menu. The food helpings are good size portions and the dishes are excellent. Like a lot of things these days, there's a staff shortage and the timing can be a bit slow from sit down to food delivery. Well worth the wait and we plan a bit of extra time when going to Texas events to make lunch or dinner here party of our activities.
Busted this restaurant recently and it was not authentic Thai food. The Pad Thai was way too sweet and mushy, could only handle a few bites. Should be run by actual Thai staff. I do not recommend.
If I based my review solely off of the food, it would be 0/5, but the servers were really nice. Back to the food.. disgusting!!! The crab fried rice was mushy as though it was being fed to a baby. My friends and I did not enjoy our experience with their food at all.
Best yellow curry ever! & amazing madam rolls!
Sickly sweet pad thai. No peanuts, no lime, not worth the $$. And you should think about putting at least ONE plastic fork, a spork or even a single chop stick. Some of the worst Thai "not thai" food I've ever had.
I have been to several Madam Mam's locations. While the other locations are fantastic, I found myself disappointed in the food I received by the one near UT campus. I got basic Pad Thai and it was missing so many key components that help make the flavor of Pad Thai. First, there was not nearly enough sauce for my food and it tasted extremely dry. Second, it only had the chicken, noodle, and eggs. There were no shallots, been sprouts, tofu, or anything else that all the other Madam Mam locations gave me. It could have been an off day, but the restaurant didn't seem to be that busy. If I come back to this location I would probably opt for Curry.
No utensils on a togo order?
Am I supposed to eat this pad thai with my hands?
Their Panang curry was excellent, overruling the small portion of rice we got alongside. Their Thai tea was also a good blend of taste while being not too sweet.
