A really dope Thai spot. Came here with a bunch of friends right before our dance video shoot nearby. Unfortunately for me, I was dying with a hunger so potent that it would've paralyzed a Victorian era child right where they stood. Unlike them, however, I'm built different so I hunkered down and devoured 1000 calories worth of Auntie Anne's cinnamon sugar pretzel bites beforehand. Meaning to say - all I could stomach was a tom yum soup that sadly went to my lovely friend who so graciously took it off my hands. Wish I could've had more, but blame whoever decided dinner at 8pm. I don't play around, c'mon now.

Diner Review №8

Sometimes I go here with my partner after her yoga class. I love it here: they play live jazz (at least Saturday nights), it’s not super crowded and your food is out less than 7 min after you order it.

The Vegan Pad Thai and Vegan fried rice are absolutely delicious. Always hard to finish my plate because they give you lots of food.

Cheap, delish, vibes… what else could you ask for? (Look at the third picture for answer)

Pad Thai is too dry

Diner Review №11

The food has the perfect amount of burn

Diner Review №12

Love this spot. Big portion size entrees- excited for leftover. The wontons were cooked fresh, so good. Just on food coma

Diner Review №13

Loved it! The mock duck massaman curry, papaya salad, curry puffs,Thai iced tea, and sage house soup were all super delicious. Service was friendly and attentive, which made for a fun experience on top of the lovely atmosphere. Would totally recommend!

Diner Review №14

I have been getting delivery from Sage about once a week because the food is absolutely amazing! Every dish I have tried is 10/10 - especially the Thai basil beef and the grilled steak appetizer. Best Thai I have had in NYC :)

Diner Review №16

Initially I just came to this place because it was named Sage, in Brooklyn and the logo was an elephant. My name is Sage, I live in Brooklyn and my favorite animal is an elephant. I ordered multiple appetizers and a Thai tea. The tea was the start of the show and unfortunately my chicken skewers were all raw in the middle. I didn’t complain because I took 2 of their cups as souvenirs. I do have hope that some of their other dishes might be better but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be back.

Diner Review №18

They got our order wrong, which happens, but then they lied to ChowNow about it when we tried to get a refund. Had to dispute the charge with my bank. I’m not a fan of giving restaurants my money for nothing, I don’t know about you. Beware.

Diner Review №19

I liked the atmosphere and the food was good! My friend and I ordered the chive spinach dumplings and we liked them, they were very mild… we did wish there were more than 4 on the plate though. I ordered the layout seafood glass noodle and it was good, the calamari was a bit tough but aside from that the flavor was good. My friend got the drunken noodles with fried tofu (not pictured) and that was very good! They described it as having the perfect amount of spice. We also got the pink panther cocktail which was nice. Would recommend.

Diner Review №20

Always great food! And friendly staff. Good value too!!

Diner Review №21

IMO, it’s thee Thai restaurant to get delivery from in this area. We found ourselves wanting Thai food and decided to dine-in here instead of ordering off Seamless.

Quite similar portion sizing as to delivery and flavors tasted exactly the same. One of the best green curry’s in Brooklyn in my opinion. Delicious Pad See Ew as well. A small house soup and popcorn shrimp to start, both good. The shrimp is tossed with a chili aioli. The soup is a clear broth veggie stock with glass noodles.

The restaurant has a modern feel but as if it were designed in a poorly made gentrified building, so not date night friendly. More like, a group of friends wanting to go out for dinner but not spend a bunch of $, which is totally fine.

2 starters and 2 mains for under $50 (before T&T) is lovely.

Diner Review №22

Pad see ew is consistently amazing. As is the green curry and Tom kha soup.

Diner Review №23

Diner Review №24

Cool vibes, cool music, great staff, friendly and accommodating. Fresh ingredients, great tasting food. Low prices, high-quality, tasty meals. Bring your appetite. Large portions.

Diner Review №25

Massaman curry with fried tofu is amazing, also when I went there on a Saturday night there was a live jazz trio playing, it was very chill.

Diner Review №26

We tried the Sweet Sausage Fried Rice, the Crispy Duck Salad, and the Sage Mixed Appetizer. It was all very good. I've eaten in the restaurant and ordered delivery a few times, and either way it's always very good and delicious.

Diner Review №27

I came here for a lunch special and got the drunken spicy noodles and meatballs. I thought the food was OK, it’s not bad but for the price I wasn’t impressed. The meatballs just tasted like meatloaf with Walmart brand sweet spicy chili sauce drizzled on top. There are better lunch specials around the city. The space was good and the service was ok. I thought the deserts were way too sweet.

I recently visited Sage in Brooklyn and was not very happy. I've been here a while back and loved it but this time was different. The ambiance was fantastic, with live music and a great outdoor seating area that would be perfect on a warm evening. Their Thai tea is still one of my favorites.
Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to my expectations. The Thai calamari was excessively greasy, and the pad thai beef was a major disappointment - it smelled off and tasted even worse. I couldn't finish it. However, the larb wings were a bright spot, as they were flavorful and enjoyable.
On the other hand the service was great. The waitress was nice and attentive, making sure we had what we needed.
Given my past positive experience, I'm torn about whether to give Sage another chance. The disappointing food has left me unsure if I'll return, despite my love for their Thai tea.
I would recommend tryng the larb wings and Thai tea, but approach other dishes with caution.

💛💛💛💛💛💛

Diner Review №32

Decent Thai spot with good service and an affordable appetizer + salad + entree deal for dinner before 6

Diner Review №33

We ordered to go and was very disappointed. The drunken noodles no spice and no flavor. Sage fried rice also had no flavor and did not include basil like described on the menu. We will not be returning.

Diner Review №34

Diner Review №35

Food was tasty and creative, service was great. This is my third visit. In my opinion Sage tops all of the restaurants in the area 100% and I will be going back.

Diner Review №36

NO GOOD

Diner Review №37

The place is really nice. The food was good and super worth it for the price.

Diner Review №38

Had pad see yew, mango sticky rice and thai iced tea. Life is good

Updated review:
Went back the other day with my best friend and they still got it. Delicious as ever. Strongly recommend.

Great spot. Delicious food. The Tum yum soup and pork chop were super delicious. Love the outside area seating and the welcoming staff. I Strongly recommend for tasty thai food. Will come again to explore the rest of the menu.

Diner Review №40

I don’t post reviews often, but I just had to mention that their food is maybe the best Thai I’ve ever had

Diner Review №41

I ordered a green curry with chicken that barely had any curry soup. When I mentioned this, they offered to add more soup for an extra $4, which I found quite surprising. Are you supposed to eat green curry with a fork? On a positive note, the jazz musicians were great.

Diner Review №42

My experience was amazing! The food was great and the atmosphere was beautiful and clean. The outdoor area was beautiful. The waiters were very nice and polite. However, it took a little while for them to bring out the food. Overall it was a great place. I would highly recommend!

Diner Review №43

We went here as a group and sat in the main dining room. The restaurant was beautiful and packed.

The food was delicious. Everything was made with care and was presented attractively. Especially memorable were the Curry Puffs, Tom Kha soup, Crying Tiger and the Sole fish. YUMM. Top notch eats.

The acoustics, however, were horrible. it was hard to have a conversation with anyone who wasn't sitting right next to you without raising your voice. We saw at least one group move tables to a more secluded area.

Service was pleasant, but it was slow. Primarily due to the crowd. But once we ordered, food was delivered quickly and accurately.

Diner Review №44

Diner Review №45

Good Thai food good drinks nice atmosphere and relatively low prices by today’s standards. I can recommend it.

Diner Review №46

A group of us had a wonderful family meal. The flavors were scrumptious, and the portions were ample. Being from out of town, I am glad we came here.

Diner Review №47

Amazing food, amazing prices, live music when I came. Beautiful place.

Diner Review №48

Diner Review №49

This has been a consistent spot of mine for years, but I recently discovered they serve brunch?! It was so solid and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back to try the other dishes.

Diner Review №50

We are regulars from the neighborhood that came in today as we often do.. unfortunately our toddler excitedly knocked over a cocktail glass that had just been served. Servers and management stood and watched for a while before they came over visibly upset and grumpy to clean up. They moved us to another table, brought out the food, never brought replacement drinks and never came back to check on us. They never replaced or offered to replace the drinks but still charged for them. When we brought it to their attention instead of fixing it, they refused to remove the charges. Really disappointed in the lack of customer care that was shown. Don’t even think to go there with kids/toddlers. Bad service.

Diner Review №51

Great food and atmosphere. Live band on Thursdays and Fridays. They were great too. Friendly staff. My only problem was a drink item. Three of us sat to dinner, with appetizers. Two of the guests ordered JUICES (a mixture of pineapple, cranberry and orange, NO ALCOHOL). The difference was that one ordered with NO ICE. We were all shocked when the order with no ice came up very short. Talk about the glass half full, LOL. Sadly it was confirmed that the order would be that amount, just that it should have been in a different glass, SMH. This for three guests, seated to full dinner with appetizers? No alcohol, no premium drinks, just a half glass more of already overpriced juice, which we didn't complain about the price. Sage, consider doing better, that was a minimal customer request. This means we are really paying for half a glass of juice and half a glass of ice.

Diner Review №52

Very lovely staff, extremely average food.

Diner Review №53

LOVE SAGE!!! Live in the neighborhood and sage is a regular for me. The food is not only great, but their patio is amazing! Very dog friendly as well. I’ve never had a place be so kind to my dog. Love their pad Thai, love their patio, amazing service and staff!

Diner Review №54

It used to be so good but since the chef changed, it’s now very bad. I’m so disappointed and miss the old sage….

Diner Review №55

Best Thai food near me. If you are looking for a good Thai place to frequent, look no further. Food is always great, large portions, made perfectly and always on time, or early if you order.

EDIT: I love you guys so much. I feel our relationship has gone to the next level. I ordered from another Thai restaurant once and I felt like I cheated on you... and it was trash. See you tonight btw lol

Diner Review №56

Excellent

Diner Review №57

They have a great lunch special! ($11 for a small app and entree) I usually get pad see ew with mock duck (which can be hard to come by for a vegetarian) along with the Thom Yum soup which is sooo delicious.

Diner Review №58

Diner Review №59

Sage was the first experience I had with Thai food, and I don’t go anywhere else now 😅 The interior of the restaurant is so classy and clean, but gives this cozy vibe as well. They have beautiful outdoor seating in the backyard of the restaurant and the front. And the food is so good. I have too many favorites, but my go to entree is always Spicy Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken. They have an amazing strawberry lemonade cocktail that you should try and their fried ice cream dessert is the perfect ending to your meal.

Diner Review №60

Was nice enough to make my meal without garlic due to an intolerance plus very fresh and flavorful food. Love this place

Diner Review №61

Delivery Pad Thai and appetizers. Everything perfect. Great dumplings and buns. This establishment does everything well

Diner Review №62

I love the ambiance of this place. It's very rustic, romantic, and cozy. I like the wooden decor. The Thai dishes are good, but my experience with the American dishes was a bit lacking. My bf had the red curry which was delicious. My friend had crab cakes and fried rice. I had the steak with fries. The red curry was definitely the best dish. The crab cake had a good texture but lacked in flavor. The steak was cooked well but lacked in favor too. I was expecting the steak to have a Thia fusion twist to it, but was disappointed. Their Thai iced tea is okay. It's a tad bit sweet for my taste. The staff was friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place for the overall atmosphere and for trying other Thai dishes. Be cautious when ordering other American dishes. You might end up being disappointed.

GREAT food. obsessed with the green curry pad thai and the sweet pineapple fried rice with extra veggies. service was great, our server was amazing. not a big fan of their espresso martini. definitely a must try in the area!

Diner Review №66

this is a restaurant where it's everybody's birthday!! the theme of this restaurant is "paintings" and "you were born" and I think that's great. all of the food tastes good, probably, I only had two things but based on those two things I can't imagine they're hopelessly biffing anything. most likely the whole menu is good.

Diner Review №67

Overall pretty decent Thai food with a large menu and many options. They have two rooms where the 2nd feels more like overflow and a converted bar. Highly recommend the first room which is more lively and has live music.

Diner Review №74

A neighborhood classic with friendly servers that can always seat you. Great patio space in the summer. Solid thai food with a great, very affordable weekday lunch special. Reliable quality and service. But came to write this review after years of meals because only recently discovered their weekend special duck soup. This dish in particular is truly outstanding and is worth a special visit just to try. Saturday and Sunday only.

Diner Review №75

Food was really good. The appetizers we got were amazing. We had the shrimp/pork dumplings which were really good and then the Bangkok skirt steak is always my favorite when we come here. The aioli sauce that is in the shrimp is absolutely amazing as well and I asked for the steak medium and it came out just right. The service was a tiny bit slow when it came to the entree’s but it was absolutely worth the wait everytime.

Diner Review №76

Went here for lunch with my husband and his coworker. I'm not a big fan of Thai food, but this place is actually great. I had red curry with chicken. Pretty good. Although I'm a bit disappointed because the rice was a pretty small portion (size of hand fist) to serve with a big bowl of curry. Definitely will come back again.

I used to go here often and always thought it was delicious. I ordered last night via Caviar and it was incredibly bland! Where has the flavor gone?

Diner Review №86

The food is good but to me it’s a hit or miss. Don’t call for lunch, I waited over 2 hours for delivery, got no utensils even though I requested them. This restaurant does not provide good customer service nor do they take accountability when they mess up.

wanted to like this placed based on reviews. ordered all vegan. everything was very sweet, so much sugar in our food. old green beans in dishes were off putting. the curry was ok but coconut milk usually covers errors. unfortunately i don’t think i’d order food from here again. the woman in the phone was pleasant tho

Diner Review №90

Drunken Chicken..spicy and tasty

Diner Review №91

Great food and I loved the live jazz

Diner Review №92

Diner Review №93

Cocktails are a 10/10, Tom Yum is spicy and Pad Thai gets the job done. I've had almost every noddle dish here. This place is also my favorite place to get delivery from because it travels well.

Diner Review №94

Tasty fresh Thai food with vegan and gluten free options. Pad Thai was very gooood. Delicious lychee Thai iced tea
Loved the ambience as well

Diner Review №95

The food was incredible, Service was first-class, and the decor was attractive!
Must haves: Chocolate Baby Back Ribs & the Spinach Cheese Puffs!
We also loved the Bangkok Skirt Steak, Jungle Curry, & Pad See Ew.
We ended the evening with Thai Ice Tea Creme Brulee! Unbelievable!
The Service was some of the best ever: always checking in on us, pleasant to talk with, and quick to take care of clearing dishes or filling up the water glass!
I traveled six miles to get there & will again so if you're in, or out, of the neighborhood, this is a must go!

Diner Review №96

All i have to say is that it was the worst pad thai I've ever had. It was oozing in the sugary syrup, there were noodles and i can't vouch for any vegetables. Terrible.

Diner Review №97

Diner Review №98

Sage is definitely my favorite Thai spot in the city. I love the atmosphere and most importantly the food! I’m a huge fan of the Spinach puffs, and also be sure to try one of their cocktails - can’t recommend enough.

Diner Review №99

Diner Review №100

Extremely personable service. Food is delicious and lightly adventurous (the chocolate ribs!). Jazz night was lovely.

Diner Review №101

Came for the Friday/Saturday night jazz, which did not disappoint! Really spectacular trio!!!!
Good food and the prices aren’t bad. Biggest downside was that the acoustics/loud noise in the restaurant made it hard to hear the jazz and the person sitting across from me

Diner Review №102

Excellent customer service would recommend this establishment to anyone

Diner Review №103

The atmosphere is date friendly. The wait staff were knowledgeable friendly pleasant and provided greay service. The Sage whole fried fish in garlic sauce is my go to dish at this establishment and it was great. The salmon with jumbo shrimp was a hit with my date who said the salmon was well flavored and light and flaky.

Diner Review №104

Diner Review №105

The food at Sage is on point, and they can actually get it pretty spicy if that's what you like. I would like to feel a bit more passion in the service but I think the couple of times I went it wasn't very busy.

Diner Review №106

My favorite Thai spot in Brooklyn! Food, service, and atmosphere are amazing. Recommend any cocktails, especially their margarita. The curries and soups are excellent. You cannot get a better deal than their lunch specials!

Diner Review №107

I recently dined at Sage, a restaurant recommended to me by a local, and my overall experience left me with a pleasant impression.

The Spicy Chicken Wings. Although I had high expectations, I found these wings to be slightly dry and not quite what I had anticipated. They lacked the punch and juiciness I usually associate with this dish. It's safe to say I may opt for something else on the menu during my next visit.

On the other hand, the Panang Curry was a true standout. It was a symphony of bold and delightful flavors that danced on my taste buds. The curry was rich and aromatic, perfectly complemented by the inclusion of rice and a serving of greens. This dish was an absolute winner, and I would definitely order it again without hesitation.

Moving on to the Pad See Ew, I was pleasantly surprised by its taste and texture. Unlike other Thai restaurants I've tried, Sage managed to serve up a less oily version of this classic dish. The flavors were well-balanced, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. It was a delectable choice, and I appreciated the attention to detail in reducing the oil content.

Overall, my experience at Sage was positive. While the Spicy Chicken Wings didn't meet my expectations, the Panang Curry and Pad See Ew more than made up for it. The restaurant's ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a suitable choice for a last-minute dinner outing. I would certainly consider returning to explore more of their menu and savor those bold Thai flavors once again. Sage has the potential to become a reliable go-to spot for those seeking a flavorful Thai meal in the city.

Bon moment en famille dans ce restaurant de quartier.

Diner Review №115

Drunken noodles were delicious and very spicy. Chive dumplings were not really flavourful.

Diner Review №116

The lunch special is really affordable. However, the food is ok, nothing special.

Diner Review №117

Delicious food, great staff. The restaurant at lunch was relaxing and a nice vibe. I would definitely recommend the Tom yum soup or the salad with the aoli dressing. My favorite was the chicken pad thai. Prices are reasonable and there is parking on the side streets.

Diner Review №121

Fantastic evening here! Firstly, the restaurant was much bigger than I thought and the garden in the back is lovely. Food and drinks were excellent. We ordered the chive cakes, pork and beef dumplings, and Sage appetizer sampler to start- it was all delicious and nicely plated. I had the Sage Fried Rice with shrimp and it was great. Fresh, flavorful, and a big portion. Friends had the sage noodle, beef pad Thai, pad see ew, some of the soups (I can’t remember which one) and one of the currys. We all really enjoyed our food. Drinks were pretty, tasty, and strong. Service was great too. It was my friends birthday and we brought an outside cake. They served it for us and even added a candle! (We had forgotten candles) would highly highly recommend! Wish I had remembered to take more pictures.

It was absolutely delicious! The best Thai food I’ve ever had in my life no doubt. I got the panang curry with a “spicy” spice level and got EXACTLY what I asked for. Deep flavor and spice with the perfect peanut taste. So freaking good 👍🏾

I enjoyed my lunch here. The menu has lots of choices. The lunch special is a great deal. For $11 or $12 you get a choice of appetizer, a protein and a choice of how you want it prepared. For example with Drunken Noodles or Pad Thai, etc. The prices on desserts is wonderful and they serve a good variety. The desserts are beautifully presented. Besides Non-Alcoholic beverages they also have Cocktails. The space is very soothing. They also have a bar and more seating next to the area in which we had lunch. They have some nice art in that area. I was informed that they also have a backyard which they open Thursday-Sunday. The service is very good and the food comes out at a good pace.

Diner Review №127

Great back patio. Delish food. Friendly staff. Neighborhood favorite.

Diner Review №128

This is my go-to Thai local delivery because the food is typically well-cooked, tasty, withstands delivery, and delivers on time. I really enjoy the drunken noodles dish and my other half likes the curries - both of which have a good Thai spice level which packs a punch over time but not too spicy. Love!

Diner Review №129

Diner Review №130

I have been to Sage a few times , the first time was in the pandemic when outdoor dining had begun. Their food was excellent this time however we ordered from the brunch menu and I think if you are a Thai restaurant give me Thai brunch food not American brunch. I really was not impressed.

Diner Review №131

Diner Review №132

The lunch special deal you’ll get here is TOP TIER. Appetizer & main for $11!! Insane. I highly recommend the pad see ew which was DELICIOUS! Also had their almond milk Thai coffee, which was a bit too sweet for me but I enjoyed it.

Diner Review №133

Diner Review №134

The food is amazing and beverage program is top line. The owner is a true gentleman as well. Some of the best Pad Thai I've had in Williamsburg.

Diner Review №135

Diner Review №136

The food is decent but they don’t know how to read. Their menu clearly says “1 free drink per brunch” and “2 for 1 drink special” but they tried to charge us for each drink separately. Apparently our server tried to tell us “it’s actually if you order 2 entrees you get 1 drink free”. The menu says literally nothing like that, and even if it did, that makes zero sense to pay for two entrees and get 1 drink free? But regardless, it doesn’t say that! We’ve been here multiple times and it’s never been an issue. Not coming back.

Worst Tom Yum I've ever had. It was just bitter water

Diner Review №176

Curry and pad Thai are our go to!
The food travels well which is a win

This place is amazing. My go to meal is basil fried rice with chicken spicy. The Thai Ice tea is delicious. Atmosphere is nice and relaxing.

Amazing lunch special deal - $11 for appetizer and entree. The portions were big and I even had leftovers. The tom yum soup and drunken noodles were delicious. The Thai iced tea was also great.

Waiting time for lunch special was 50 minutes. When I called to check the status of my order I was put on hold for several minutes.
I ordered pad see ew, but food came cold and flavorless.

A spacious and chill Thai restaurant in the Williamsburg, Brooklyn section that has a large menu of traditional & new dishes. There's a full bar, big interior, large outdoor seating area and a garden seating. I had a doctor's appointment nearby at 2 pm and I was able to make it here for their inexpensive lunch special which ended at 4 pm. The lunch special is $10 to $11 and includes an appetizer and an entree. There's quite a few options to choose from off this pocket-friendly menu. I chose the Thai meatballs for my appetizer and the Chicken Pad See Ew for my entree. The meatballs were delicious! You only get two but they were a nice size, juicy and on a bed of chili garlic sauce. The chili garlic sauce was nice and spicy and the perfect compliment to the meatballs. My entree came out shortly thereafter and it was one of the best Pad See Ew I have ever tasted. Definitely top three in my book! You can tell they put lots of love and attention into the food, amongst other things. I look forward to returning to try other menu items.

Sidenote: If you're not able to catch the lunch special by 4 pm, don't worry! They have an early bird menu from 4 to 6 pm that includes an appetizer, soup or salad, and an entree. Cost: $15 to $16. A great deal and pretty much includes all the items offered for lunch specials.

Its delicious, I prefer going there instead of asking for delivery because sometimes it takes a long time to delivery, but the food its incredible with great vegan options.

Customer service people do not listen I asked them not to put egg on my rice and they go ahead and put egg

The food was delicious. We had just driven from Ohio. We were tired and hungry and everything we had hit the spot! My companion had a hot dish and boy was it hot! Very boldly spicy.

Fantastic panang curry!! Preparation time was insanely fast too, I got it in like 20 mins from when I placed the order. Will definitely order again

Good portions & well priced but the curse of this place is from the HOST to the WAITSTAFF. Bad attitude and always on the phone or talking to each other and not paying attention to the needs of the customers. It’s very very obvious when you see all the take out orders piling up & the restaurant is practically empty on a weekend. No one wants to come in because of the extremely bad service

not the best thai food i’ve had. the waitress was great but service was kinda slow and the pad see ew lacked in flavor and was pretty thin

Diner Review №199

Only had an appetizer and it was so amazing, I can’t even imagine what the entrees are like. This place is amazing 10/10 highly recommend!

Super nice and friendly. There was an issue with my last order, but they were pro-active and made it right. Highly recommend them and if anything isn't right, just reach out - they are personable.
