Man where do I begin..

That austin fellur sure knows his way to a guys heart when it comes to food! He was super friendly and had given me a bunch of options for sushi!! So many that I never heard of but the quality was so good!!! If you want some good service and good food, this is the spot!!!

Diner Review №3

This place is awesome! Austin single handedly made my night with serving the best sushi there is! My wife and I and our kids were in the area trying to find out what place to eat sushi at, and this had caught our eye, the atmosphere of the place and the design is fantastic and feels cozy, and the people working there are super nice! He was very welcoming and respectful! He even gave us a quick explanation on how the sushi was made and I was blown away! Will be coming back soon!

If you want the best service in customer service and in food! This is the place to go!! Shout out to Austin & his family!

The food was excellent. The waiter was attentive and helpful. We got a caterpillar roll and it was in the shape of caterpillar, the art of it was so fun!

Diner Review №8

Strip mall Japanese but food and service was great

Diner Review №9

What a great place for date-night. Good quiet atmosphere, great for conversations, didn’t feel like I had to talk over a TV or music, but there was still good background noise. Great staff, both our waitress and the chefs! Amazing food, we got 4 rolls and some house fried rice and left there full! Very fast service, and didn’t feel rushed to leave at the end of our meal. Thank you and we will be back! 10/10!

Very fresh tasting fish, and rolls were large! I recommend the kamikaze roll, as well as the spicy salmon and spicy tuna roll! Very delicious! They also had ikura (salmon roe) and it was some of the best I’ve had!

Diner Review №12

Kids meal is $9.95 and they then said they will charge extra $1.50 for fries or fried rice even though the menu says it is with the kids meal. Each one of my kid’s meals were charged $1.50 each. Ridiculous when menu says it comes with white rice, fries or fried rice. (I added the photo of their online menu that says it is served with fried rice or fries and no extra charge - but they will add $1.50 to it if you ask for fries for your kid’s meal!) I will not come back here again due to that since they said I will be charged it again next time. Sorry they should do better.

Diner Review №13

Came here mistaken as another restaurant, very glad we came here instead. Very friendly staff and very cute atmosphere!

Diner Review №14

The ladies were so kind and the food was delicious! Professionalism was excellent and everyone went above and beyond!

Diner Review №15

This place is so relaxing and calm during lunchtime… The food was fast and amazing… The service was very friendly and attentive.

Diner Review №16

Come here all the time and always have had a good experience. I ordered my food as takeout and some of the meat on the cowboy roll was raw.

Diner Review №17

I recently dined at Umi Sushi. and it was an incredible experience! All the food was exceptionally fresh and bursting with flavor. The sushi was expertly prepared, and every bite was a delight. From the vibrant sashimi to the creative rolls, each dish was a perfect balance of taste and presentation. The quality of the ingredients truly stood out. I highly recommend this place to any sushi lover—it's a must-visit!

Diner Review №18

I never thought I would eat raw fish again after a bad experience at another restaurant. This place proved me wrong! Service was prompt and polite and the sushi was delicious. I can't speak to the rest of the menu, but I guess I'll have to come back to see! The location is a little out of the way but it's a hidden gem. I'd love to see some more rolls that don't have shellfish, but the ones they have already are great. The crunchy salmon roll was my favorite, but my family loved how unique the cupid roll was.

Diner Review №19

Not the best for sushi and disappointed with the service

Diner Review №20

Some of the best sushi in Arlington!!

Diner Review №21

Diner Review №22

Wow! Would be coming back! Highly recommend this place!!!!!!🙇🏻‍♂️❤️

Diner Review №23

The service was great, and the atmosphere was great. The sushi was tending to fall apart a little too easy. It was also a lot of cream cheese in the roll, so it kind of overpowered a lot. The cuts of fish could be thicker. And the spicy mayo needs more spice, please.. I have been to the location in Austin, I was just looking at my past reviews, and it's essentially the same thing. So this is a franchise issue, not a singular store issue.

Diner Review №24

Great sushi selection and friendly staff!! Highly recommend!!

Diner Review №25

Always enjoy this place! Good happy hour deals! Fast and friendly service! Very cute decor too! Has tons of seating so even if they are busy, there should always be a spot open.

Diner Review №26

I've been coming here for so long I can't believe I haven't rated it yet! I've been coming to Umi Sushi since it was still Suzushi and only had one location in Mansfield- that should tell you how awesome this place is! The choice of food is very expansive, the wait staff is always polite (especially management) and although the restaurant is small, it has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and it is always clean (a big must for me). Whenever I'm craving delicious, fresh, well-priced sushi this is my first stop.

Diner Review №27

The food was decent. I didn't find anything special about this place versus any other Japanese sushi restaurant. Prices seem fair. I'll give it another shot. The tofu was good and hand roll good. The service could use some improvementa.

Diner Review №28

I ate here a couple of hours ago with my Mom and her boyfriend for a belated birthday dinner for me, I had the Chicken Katsu dinner bento box, make sure you come here on an empty stomach, my bento box had so much food it was kind of insane i n the best way, it came with a house salad, vegetable tempura, shrimp tempura, a California roll, wontons, steamed rice and, of course Katsu Chicken. Our waitress and the cooks did an amazing job, my Mom’s boyfriend had some dietary restrictions that they accommodated without any issues and the waitress was very kind and patient with us and questions about certain dishes, the only complaint I had about our experience, was the lady standing at the counter, I might be overthinking it, but I think she was staring at us and it was making me a little uncomfortable, I got over it after a while but she really shouldn’t have been doing that in the first place, but besides that, the whole experience was great, when you come here you can expect kind and accommodating service and delicious high quality food.

Diner Review №29

We found our new sushi spot. Everything was so good and the service was fast and friendly

Diner Review №30

Some of the best sushi in Dallas

Diner Review №31

My friends and I have been coming here for years even back when it used to be called Suzushii. They have good food that is reasonably priced. I come here at least once a week during lunch. My favorites rolls are Osaka, Spider, Kamikaze, and O'Hayo. Other items I get frequently are the bento boxes, fried rice, miso soup, and yellow tail kama. Their service is always nice and friendly and the restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere.

Diner Review №32

This is THE BEST sushi spot in Arlington.. The sushi is always fresh and full of flavor.. My favorites are their Rainbow Roll and Cowboy Roll… Im the mood for fried chicken sushi.. They have it to!! They are not overpriced and I guarantee you will come back again.. I have been a customer for years.. Come ask for Natalie.. She is the best!! Can’t wait to see you there!!

Diner Review №33

Nice environment.

Diner Review №34

As an avid sushi enjoyer, this was the best sushi I’ve had in the DFW area. They give you thick slices of sashimi, the fish tasted so fresh and delicious, and the prices are great for the quality you’re getting. Our server was very kind and sweet, the food came out so quickly, and overall it was all so incredible.

Whether you’re looking for simple, fresh rolls or saucy, flavorful rolls, Umi Sushi really delivers a great experience. :)

Diner Review №35

We had delicious sushi, plenty of vegetarian options, and the best service I can recall. Our server was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. Highly recommend!

Diner Review №36

This place is great value for your money. The service is very fast and friendly, and there have always been multiple chefs and waitresses even if the place has never been very busy. Affordable yet great quality nigiri for the more casual fish options. We know we can get our bellies full with good sushi without breaking the bank here. Hope they get more business because this is a great place in Arlington!

Diner Review №37

Love it here! Customer service is excellent the staff are nice and they always tell me what fish is the freshest that day. Delicious!!! Will be coming back many more times

Diner Review №38

Wow. We were traveling from out of town and wanted some quality sushi 🍣 Umi was fantastic. Great staff, Amazing sushi, and even a homemade dessert.

Diner Review №39

Great sushi! We’ve been eating at Uni once a week for a year with colleagues and it’s been perfect every time!

Diner Review №40

Great place. Staff is lovely and attentive. Sushi is great for price.

Diner Review №41

This use to be my favorite place until I ordered take out and my bento box had zero shrimp protein in it. I had to go back and get it and when I did I had the smallest, saddest shrimp
Stick things in my bento box. Like I said absolutely was
My go to and loved this place but after this and feeling like my order wasn’t taken care of correctly we’ve now found a new sushi spot that’s much better.

Diner Review №42

Everything is amazing, even their mango cake and the tempura ice cream best thing to eat during the hot summer days very cool and refreshing

Diner Review №43

It's good food. I've only been here twice, and it is great. I love the sushi and sashimi options, which are pretty expansive, and the presentation is awesome.

They also have a mango cake for a limited time. I just had it, and it is a solid choice to wrap up the meal.

Diner Review №44

This place has really good food and the service is amazing! Would recommend coming here.

Diner Review №45

Diner Review №46

Diner Review №54

Beautiful restaurant! Me and my gf love the interior. Great customer service and food was amazing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Diner Review №55

This place is unassuming and delicious.
Order the shogun roll. Excellent experience.

Diner Review №56

Yummy and fresh sushi! They are open late (10pm) which is nice. Everything always tastes great and seems fresh! We get carry out a few times a year.
A few of our fave rolls are the Black Pearl, Princess, Sexy, and Cherry Blossom.

Recently added Hot Mama, Mermaid, and Rudolph to our faves!

Diner Review №57

A live bug crawled across my plate. Never again

Diner Review №58

Diner Review №59

Just terrible- please never go!!

Diner Review №60

The service was great, but the food was overpriced and not that great. My smoked salmon was a roll that they baked on foil and didn’t even remove the foil. Never had a baked roll and it was weird. It overcooked the salmon; all around weird. The rice was like 3 bites and the hibachi was supposed to be 12 oz of meat and it was more like 6oz. Way over priced and very underwhelming.

Diner Review №61

Waste of everything

Diner Review №62

Great food with a great atmosphere. I only knocked a star off because they were out of the first 3 appetizers that we asked for. Also my sushi combo I ordered was chef's choice which would have been fine had the menu said so. I'm hindsight makes sense but I wish the menu had stated so. Fyi my girlfriend's bento box came with so much food, very nice!

Diner Review №63

We dined in on a Friday night and were rushed from the moment we were seated. I was still eating my meal when we were bombarded with the check. As we were wrapping up conversation, a lady came over and snatched our waters away while verbally insisting that we left. Uncomfortable and displeased with the night’s service, we left. A couple seated across from us were still comfortably eating and weren’t receiving nearly as much aggressiveness or being rushed out. We will never dine here again nor recommend to friends and family.

Diner Review №64

Close to the worst sushi that I have ever had. We went here since it was close to AT&T center and had an event to get to.
When the bartender didn’t know what a sakitini is, that should have been a sign that we were not in a genuine sushi restaurant. The sushi (fish)had no flavor and they made up for that with sauces that were odd colors (pastel green, pastel pink/raspberry, yellow). Tasteless or fishy. Just don’t do it.

Diner Review №65

We rarely repeat visits to restaurants, but this place is one of only 3 places in DFW my wife and I go back to. Staff is polite, music is great for us older millenials. Food quality and pricing is right where it should be.

Diner Review №66

Went out with my son on Friday night to Umi. We were really pleased with everything. Shout out to the chef - everything was delicious. Miso soup was so good - very flavorful! Service was great, too!

Diner Review №67

I've been eating here for over a decade. All the way back to when they first opened under the name of Suzushi. I'm glad to see that all these years later their quality is still as stellar as ever. Great food at a great price!

Diner Review №68

We come here often. Love everything, today I had the edamame, avocado roll, and miso soup with a thai tea. My husband had spicy miso soup. Great service.

The food was so bad, It was the worst roll in my life. But the service was good.

Diner Review №76

Such an amazing dinner. The server was so knowledgeable. Must try the fried milk!

Diner Review №77

Muy buen sushi lo recomiendo 100% en especial al chef Homero Espinoza

Diner Review №78

Quite pleasantly surprised! Stopped by here to grab some quick sushi but wow! We got #1 and #2 rolls and they both did not have rice, which i actually liked. The crab meat is the alternate carb i guess haha. The handroll was great as well.

There are a lot of varieties in rolls and other food items

The spicy edamame was AMAZING! love love love!

Good service, nice atmosphere, little expensive.

Would recommend!!

Diner Review №80

Great sushi. High-quality ingredients. Great service.

Diner Review №81

For the first and hopefully last time in my life, I was served cold Takoyaki. The rolls were great.

Diner Review №82

Good for the area. Always nice and accommodating.

Diner Review №83

I came to this restaurant a few years ago, and it was the first and only restaurant I've walked out of without ordering food. The decor was old and uninviting and it stunk of old fish, BADLY. I didn't think I'd give another chance but ordered for pickup without realizing it was the same restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised. Service was friendly and quick, and we liked the sushi we got. The chicken teriyaki wasn't great but not terrible either. They've had a big renovation and the interior looks wayyyy better and thankfully, no more rotten fish smell!

Diner Review №84

I loved the restaurant and the food was amazing 🙌

Diner Review №85

Overall, great experience at this restaurant. They have a huge variety of sushi rolls. We got three and they were all really good and fresh. The service was very good and lots of seating. The only thing that was off putting was the immediate smell of sewage upon walking in.

Diner Review №86

Food was terrible. 10$ for 5 stale nacho chips!!!! Sweet Fried rice is outrageous!!!! Sushi was ok

Diner Review №87

Diner Review №88

Diner Review №89

I've had better sushi at an all you can eat sushi place in San Antonio TX

Diner Review №90

Diner Review №91

Diner Review №92

Best Sushi I have ever ate

Diner Review №93

Great sushi! I went with straight sashimi and my friend had the spicy noodles. Everything was excellent.

Diner Review №94

Diner Review №95

Ordered lunch for office. Mistake. We didn't receive half of our order, and the chicken teriyaki was so tough that you had to "bite and pull." So disappointed. We were so excited for sushi!!! And that's what was missing. Lesson learned.

Diner Review №96

I’m giving this place 4 stars solely off of their food. It is DEVINE!! Delicious, fresh, and so many flavors!! I gotta say, this place has THE most sushi and sashimi selections of any other sushi place I’ve ever been to.

Now, I would have given this place a 5 star rating, had the customer service matched the quality of the food here. We had to flag the waiter down every time we needed a drink refill or anything, really. He was too busy playing on his phone rather than attending to guests. The host even had to get his attention cause he saw us just staring this guy down and he was just so oblivious, haha!

And lastly, the place smells. Not terrible.. but no one wants to smell even a hint of sewage while they eat.

The food really does make up for ALL of that, though. It really does. Hands down my favorite restaurant to eat at.

Diner Review №97

Pad thai was salty & too much lime flavor. Had a spicy tuna roll, wasn't very fresh. Small portions. Cowboy roll was good.

Diner Review №98

Literally the best sushi in the metroplex!!!!

Diner Review №99

Good food second time back

Diner Review №100

Everything was great. Just one star less because no matter how much sushi you order to go, they always give you a single serving of wasabi, and that serving is about 1/5th of the tiny cup they give out. We all know it's just dyed horseradish and not real wasabi, so why so stingy?

Diner Review №101

Diner Review №102

Great sushi spot just before the Rangers game. Fast and friendly service. We had the dynamite lobster roll, crawfish roll, mango jalapeño roll, kamikaze roll, spicy edamame, and chicken eggrolls. So good, we will be back!

Diner Review №103

Diner Review №104

Diner Review №105

Food ✅ Customer Service ✅ Decor ✅ Music ✅ Everything was fantastic from the moment we walked in!

Diner Review №106

Horrible smell like sewage as you walk in the door. It was a Saturday at 715 after a Rangers game let out, so it should have had a fair crowd. There were only 2 other tables in there. We left before we ordered anything, the smell was so off-putting and the general vibe and lack of clientele made us uncomfortable.

Diner Review №107

Love the food and the service my favorite was the Beef 🍱 and California rolls!

Diner Review №108

The sushi did not disappoint. The rolls were good. Make sure to verify what's in your roll. They make theirs a little different but the flavors were GOOD! Good service also. Friendly and helpful staff. I'll be back.

Best miso soup I've ever had!!!!!

Diner Review №109

Diner Review №110

Diner Review №111

Diner Review №112

Their Golden Roll is nothing less than perfect!!!! Never heard of it before visiting this place, and now it's all I want when I crave sushi!

Diner Review №113

Loved Umi! The sushi was so delicious, and beautifully plated. Food came quickly! Restaurant was very clean and the staff was so kind and attentive! Can’t wait to come back.

Diner Review №114

Diner Review №115

Pretty good sushi, has a lot of different variety and also serves some Thai food.

Diner Review №116

It's just okay. Portion was large but food not excellent. Service bad. Got a tiny cup of green tea and never a refill. No condiments offered. No soy sauce, Wasabi, ginger with the sushi. Expensive for what we received.

Diner Review №117

Front lady helps you out if you don’t know. Ask questions they help you.

Diner Review №118

Love the sweetheart roll! I also recommend getting the winter roll. The food is delicious!

Diner Review №119

Well our waitress did not realize they did not have fear we then purchased $10 Tostito chips with what appeared to be pimento cheese turns out that's their crab nachos not a fun surprise please see pics posted

Diner Review №120

Food used to be nice and presentable, now it's become sloppy and rushed. Service is always mediocre. Service guys are barely friendly and only say what's absolutely necessary. If they were friendlier and more personable they'd definitely do better in tips.

Hopefully they'll get it right. The atmosphere is definitely conducive of repeat visits and that's the expensive part. The other 2, are food and service. That just takes an effort in changes and you should be good.

Diner Review №121

I miss suzushii but besides the price hike it's mostly the same.

Diner Review №122

They are delicious and will keep coming here till the end of times
I always grab the rainbow roll and summer roll

Diner Review №123

Diner Review №124

Diner Review №125

Great sushi!

Diner Review №126

Diner Review №127

The Cupid roll, golden roll, and dancing mermaid roll were amazing! So is the white tuna from the sashimi sampler. The cherry blossom was very pretty but not as flavorful as the others, although it wasn't as saucy and this was our first time trying snapper. Overall, really good. We definitely plan on going in person and having drinks some time.

Diner Review №128

Diner Review №129

As usual I go in get my specialty rolled rainbow with try sauce with masago and then whatever road they want to make me make it up as you go and they never disappoint me

Diner Review №130

Omg! Just what I wanted. Fresh great sushi. The R&B roll and the three musketeer rolls with the red snapper were AMAZING. By far one of the best sushi restaurants I've been in the past 5 years.

Diner Review №131

Delicious sushi and their sushi rice is gluten free, only mixed with vinegar and rice. I enjoyed all the rolls I got and will be back. I only gave four stars because the service was a bit slow for being a slower day.

Diner Review №132

Diner Review №133

Diner Review №134

Amazing best place ever!

Diner Review №135

Really good sushi! They have a wide variety of rolls and separate menu for appetizers dessert sashimi and ramen. Service was great! Everything came out quick and fresh. They were playing good music to add to nice atmosphere and clean restrooms.

Diner Review №136

Umi sushi is a must go to for local sushi in Arlington! I always go here for fresh sushi and the workers here know a lot about the menu! Remember to support local and keep them in business because their sweet shrimp (ama ebi) and salmon roe are the best in the area. If only they could put sea urchin (uni) on the menu!??!

Diner Review №137

Diner Review №138

Diner Review №139

We came here for our 20th wedding anniversary lunch. Food was really good and fresh.

Diner Review №140

Since I work a minute away from here, this is my new favorite lunch spot. Crunchy salmon roll is the way to go!

Diner Review №141

Love this place!

Diner Review №142

Good sushi. I want to eat there to check out the atmosphere.

Diner Review №143

Wow! Wow! Wow! This place was INCREDIBLE! Every single thing that touched my lips I absolutely loved!! You’ve got to try the Avocado Bomb (appetizer)! The only problem was that we didn’t have conversation around the table because everyone was oooh-big and ahhh-big about how incredible each bite was!!

Diner Review №144

The sushi was good.

Diner Review №145

Diner Review №146

Good lunch prices & staff was nice. The pad Thai was not what we were expecting. (We lived in Phuket for 4 months, eating Thai daily.) Most pad Thai is savory, here it was way too sweet! We couldn't place the flavors & didn't real enjoy the dish. Sushi was good, salmon roll was my favorite. Miso soup was tasty too.

Diner Review №153

Diner Review №154

The waitresses were on top of their game! Constantly checking up on us and refilling our drinks, and brought out our food really quick. Pad Thai was flavorful, the gyozas were fresh, and their sushi was great! The decor made the place seem really cozy

Diner Review №161

I'm in love with the cupid roll!

Diner Review №162

I should of known better by the stinky smell when I walked in,well I ate there & now paying dearly for it,beware

Diner Review №173

Diner Review №174

The product put out by the Sushi Chefs is top notch. I wanted to give 5 stars for the sushi and presentation. However, the prices are extremely high for the portion size you receive. The Nigri pieces were smaller than my thumb, I would call them "Fun Size" if they were a candy bar. Only 2 pieces to an order. It used to be 4 pieces to an order for less money. I had a bowl of the house fried rice which was very tasty. Glad I had the rice to help fill me up or I would of left still hungry. Service was good. Tab for one person was almost $40 inculding tip and i could of eaten more but was comfortable.

Diner Review №180

Walked in, the place stinks bad. We were seated at a table. There was not one customer inside except us at 8pm. I used the restroom to wash my hands and they had no soap. We immediately walked out.

Diner Review №181

The best sushi spot in central Arlington! You can’t get super good quality sushi around this area except here. If you’re an Uni lover, this is the only place in Arlington that you can get fresh and premium grade Japanese Uni and variety of fish. This restaurant also serves authentic Thai dishes so if you’re not feeling Japanese for dinner, you have many other options. The owners are super nice and welcoming. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Diner Review №182

This place was amazing and a hidden gem for this area! The food was amazing and the service was great. My favorite rolls were the ohayo and the cowboy! Would definitely recommend anyone in the area to stop by and give it a try.

Diner Review №183

Diner Review №184

Diner Review №185

Formerly Suzushi. Fantastic food. The manager is great. Great variety of sushi and grilled items. Always a treat to come here.

Diner Review №186

Diner Review №187

Looking for a non chain sushi place a friend and I agreed on umi. We got a few different kinds or rolls, an ahi tower, and the dumplings no complaints with the food at all it was all really good and fresh.
Only complaint is there is a smell as soon as you walk in not quite a musk smell but could tell there is cleaning supplies covering something up. Prices were on par for how dine in sushi places are. Presentation was well up there made us not want to ruin it.

Diner Review №188

Family-owned restaurant (not to be confused with other establishments with a similar name).

Consistency in quality with friendly staff that are on the ball even at full occupancy.

Umi Sushi and Grill offer an extensive selection of Sushi and Thai dishes together with beverages to compliment. You can pay a lot more for similar cuisine in DFW, but we always end up coming back to Umi. Conveniently placed in Arlington just off I30, exit at N. Collins going south, then hang a right onto E Road to Six Flags St. Perfect for dinner after a game, or just because you’re in the mood for sushi in a welcoming environment. You won’t be disappointed.

Diner Review №189

Great food! Good service! Lots of choices for selection. I don't eat anything spicy and the menu was well laid out, telling you the various ingredients to make a proper decision. Highly recommend trying their food out.

Diner Review №190

Delicious sushi choices. Started with Miso soups. Then we had the cowboy roll, Cali roll, and the wagu roll. The wife and I loved all the food. Highly recommend this place. Great atmosphere plus the staff are friendly, quick, and helpful.

Diner Review №191

Very clean, well ordered menu, food portions were generous and well presented. Came up for a baseball game from San Antonio, I will be adding this to my "hit list" when back in Arlington
