This is the first time coming to this Thai food restaurant! My friend invited us for the special dinner before the wedding day! We got many vegetarian dishes and they were all delicious 😋
Personally, pad thai and fried rice were the top notch! Highly recommended!
Come for those who are hungry for Thai foods!
Cheers 🥂
The food came out looking beautiful. Love the location. The service was exceptional. Was disappointed with how spicy my curry was, cause it was too hot to enjoy even though I asked for the 1st level of spicy. The veggies were super good in the curry though, esp the carrots and snow peas! I will try something else again though. If you like spicy hot, hot you would love this red curry dish though. The rich tasting Thai tea and mango tea were amazingly delicious. Would go back for the Thai tea for sure. Love the ambiance of the interior and exterior of the restaurant. Will definitely go back.
So happy to see them go from truck to brick and mortar. Killing it already, doing a great job. Food is great, menu is solid, prices are great. Nice to see larb, you know the kitchen knows what’s up when they have that on the menu. Finally have a regular thai spot in town.
Pad ke mao: 10/10
Pad thai: 7/10
Crispy tofu: 8/10
Dumplings: 10/10 she loves them
Spring rolls: 8/10
Larb: 9/10 she would prefer smaller onions
Pad woon sen: 8/10
Yellow curry: 9/10 her favorite
Satay: 9/10 she loves it
Great for vegans, will be back often.
The food here looks delicious and tastes great! I recommend the thai tea—the ice is different from other places and makes it taste even better. The Thum Lao is a bit sweet, but still really tasty. The Lad Naa Mee Krob is cooked perfectly and won’t disappoint. —Review from a real Thai
My fiancé and I were big fans of the food truck and are so excited for their brick and mortar. It did not disappoint! Definitely the best Thai that Chattanooga has to offer. We went during their soft opening and they have a few kinks to work out, which is to be expected. The location is amazing and the atmosphere inside is gorgeous. They don’t have a sign out front yet, so it did take a minute to find them. They are short staffed and we did wait awhile, which we didn’t mind. The servers were so friendly and apologized for the wait and the food was all very fresh. I highly recommend the yummy rolls! The peanut sauce they came with was SO good! For entrees we tried the Pad Ke Mao and the Pad Kra Paw. The noodles could have used a bit more sauce and the spice levels weren’t as hot as we ordered. All in all, they were both tasty, flavorful and great portions. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was a small order of Tom Yum Goong. It was a little salty and I feel like it needed more lemongrass. It was a really good portion for the price and the shrimp in it were delicious. Overall we really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back. I would rate our experience today 4 stars, but I know over time this will be a 5 star spot for me. Thank you, Yummy Thai! ☺️
Hands down, the best Thai in Chattanooga. We eat there at least two times a week, and there have been some weeks we've been four. Why? The variety, depth of flavor, and ownership are really all excellent. It's actually the best Thai from any place we've ever lived.
He has the classics: I've had the yellow, green, and red curries. I've had my favorite soup: Tom Yum Goong. The shrimp are perfectly done. Never over, never rubbery. always with that perfect crunch you get from fresh, perfectly prepared shrimp. I've shared it with my wife, who likes food on the milder side. I've had it hot enough to kill a Thai man. It's always great. The perfect amount of lemongrass... my mouth is watering writing about it.
We've had the Pad Thai. (I know, I know...) We've had dumplings (our neighbors from California love them and my sister says they are among the best she has had).
Lately, I've been asking the owner just to pick something. He just doesn't miss. Frankly, with the skill and layers of flavors in the kitchen, I am not sure if he can.
The location is great... walking distance from the bridge and a stone's throw from Whole Foods. I can't say enough good things about the place.
Normally, we walk but occasionally we drive when it's rainy or too cold. If you do go, make sure you feed the meters. It's a sure ticket if you don't. There are a few free parking spaces not too far away. I am not sure why they squat there but they do.
I am so glad that they took their excellent food truck and brought the sit down experience. There are dishes they can do with a big kitchen that they just couldn't do in the truck.
We didn't know Prom before he opened this restaurant, but now we do. If you love the place as much as I do, make sure to support it, and leave a review. They matter.
So proud of Diana and Chris!!! 🥳 Yummy Thai is a magical place to visit and the best Thai food! If you loved the food truck, you will love the restaurant too. There's so much to choose from we got Pineapple fried rice, chicken fried rice, Pad Thai shrimp and beef, yellow curry, cashew chicken, and coconut soup. The setting is so relaxing and modern decorations. There are many gluten free or vegetarian options. We will be coming all the time!
It's just always so good. Favorite Thai place in Chattanooga.
Food was good, servers were nice but overworked, place needs to hire more help it seems like. It was also EXTREMELY cold inside. Being a jacket if it’s winter.
The food was very good and I was impressed by a lot of the amenities especially the green tea elephant. My only thing is that they were visibly short staffed. They did make do with what they had.
I absolutely loved my first visit to Yummy Thai. If you're looking for good Asian comfort food this is the place. Can't wait to return for my next visit!
Will not go back nor recommend to friends!!!!
Our visit was on a Tuesday when the day was in the high 50s, after some very cold temperatures. We had to wear coats and get blankets out of our cars. They refused to seat us away from the doors even though there were plenty of unreserved tables. Told us that was just the temperature they keep it. Very poor customer service!!!
Food was fair.
They need to realize real quick the importance of customer service. There are too many good restaurants in Chattanooga to choose from to go here. I bet they won’t be in business for very long.
I’ve enjoyed eating at Yummy Thai about 6 times in two months, that’s how good it is! The food is fresh and flavorful. I don’t love spicy food, and I’ve always been able to get recommendations for just the right spice level. This is the best Thai I’ve had in town!!
Love this place! We’ve dined here 4 to 5 times and each time had a great experience and meal! We love the spring rolls, the Pad Thai, and the Tom Kha Gai soup.
Yummy Thai is favorite restaurant in Chattanooga! The Tom Kha Gai soup is my go to. I usually add some jasmine rice. I love the pad Thai - I get it with shrimp or just veggies. The shrimp in any dish is the best in Chattanooga. The staff is excellent, the food delicious. I’ve eaten in the restaurant as well as ordered take out. Excellent quality either way.

Really good alternative to Rain if you are downtown. Staff is very friendly.
I ordered soup and asked that was too spicey. I specifically asked if it was spicy and then when I told them I couldn’t eat it they refused to take it off my tab telling me it was policy. Don’t go here !
Most of the food here is pretty good but if you order a curry and ask for mild- you may not get mild. I have eaten mild and medium spiced curry from Thai restaurants all over the country (east and west coast mainly) and this is absolutely, at the very least, medium spiced. I don't believe it was intentional, but there was a mistake made with my food and then I spent 15minutes on the phone (receiving only a partial refund which I kind of understand) being told that their version of mild is that spicy. Nope!
Great owners, awesome food
The food is great! Probably the better option for Thai food in Chattanooga. The service was great and friendly.
A really good dining experience. Good food in a relaxed, comfortable environment.
First time, everything was on par with making this my go-to thai spot. Kyle was awesome.

The food is great. I wish they would validate parking. Their prices are already somewhat high, so add the parking charge and it's a pretty expensive choice for dinner. And yes - the parking enforcement rat was laying in wait to hand out tickets.
Edit to say - they also add a 3% "service fee" if you use a credit card.
Absolutely incredible! Some of the best Thai food we’ve ever had and if you’re on the fence, go! The service was fantastic and the restaurant was beautiful. Thankful for places like this that clearly pour their hearts into it.
Pineapple fried rice was bland, usually would order kapow or green curry but tried sometging else instead, most of the food here is bland, sometines its really good depending on who is making your food, would not order again since it’s inconsistent
Absolutely wonderful experience every single time, but especially on my most recent visit! I brought my local brother and my Dad who was traveling through town from Florida to Yummy Thai and they could not have loved it more! Diana and Chris are not only passionate about the food they present but also about their community and will make you feel like family! Everything from the drinks, entrees, and service from Colby (sp?) was 10/10. Thank you! Much love

I've been to Thailand 6 times and am very picky when it comes to Thai food. My husband and I discovered Yummy Thai in their restaurant (not food truck) and it is now our new favorite in the Chattanooga area. Service was so fast and friendly. Atmosphere amazing! Can't wait for them to get their full bar set up (coming soon). The Tom Kha cashew chicken, parang curry with added pineapple and shrimp and the pho were all delicious. Highly recommend!
So glad they decided to open a location on Northshore!! They did a really neat job with the atmosphere of the restaurant, it feels cozy and I love all the plants everywhere. The food came out quickly and piping hot. All ingredients were fresh and delicious, we got the pho, red curry, and pad thai with tofu. The service was knowledgeable and friendly. Will be coming back again and again, and will definitely tell all my friends about this great spot.
I ordered takeout after hearing so many great things. It was so delicious after a stressful week and exactly what we needed! We shared the basil fried rice (my fave!), pad thai, and yummy rolls. I don't usually leave reviews but I am so excited to have such a yummy restaurant nearby, thank you! :)
The food was outstanding - especially the papaya salad. They were very busy but took great care of us. Staff was warm and knowledgeable. One of our new favorite spots.
Ate with 5 ppl all different food and everyone loved it
Five star! Food, service, ambience, ..perfect! And the menu was very clear on gluten-free choices!
Service is insanely slow. Took 2 hrs to serve our party of 6. Food was fine. Ordered a dish that included chicken and it came with with 2 small pieces only.
Everything about our experience was top notch. Friendly staff, clean, and timely service. Our server provided great suggestions. The food was prepared quickly and sent hot to our table.
A little hard to find the restaurant because they do not have a sign.. its on the corner close to Starbucks. 🙂 great place!
Excellent food and the best wait staff!
Loved this place as a food truck and am so excited they have a restaurant now!! Great vibes!
Food is good but does not make up for the awful service
I have never been to a restaurant so utterly understaffed. For a restaurant with around 20 active tables of 2-6, there were two servers/hosts. Yes, they were acting as both and managing takeout orders.
While watching other tables, entrees came out 15-30min apart even if you were a party of two. People were getting up to get their own takeout boxes from the kitchen and would sit and wait another 20 minutes for their check.
Our experience:
Meal came out with chicken rather than tofu and took another 35 minutes to be corrected. My spouse had finished eating by the time my food came out. They said they put in a new ticket to correct my dish which I assumed just got added to the bottom of the list with how long it took.
In total, we were there 2 hours and only ordered two entrees. No appetizers, drinks or desserts and it took that long.
When checking out on the digital card reader, there was just a total and it was not itemized. After paying, I asked why it was as much as it was and it was because we paid for a different table that had more food… There wasn’t an attempt to discount or comp a meal even though they acknowledged it was a bad experience.
It was extremely disappointing and I hope they can get it together because Chattanooga needs a great Thai spot. As a food truck that transitioned into a restaurant, it seems like they’ve bitten off more than they can chew logistically. Too many menu items, too little staff.
Lifelong southerner and this was top 3 best fried chicken in my entire life. Lovely service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
This is the first time coming to this Thai food restaurant! My friend invited us for the special dinner before the wedding day! We got many vegetarian dishes and they were all delicious 😋

I haven't found Tom Yum this good in a looong time. The food is always amazing and the staff is super kind.
Very good food! Even better service and atmosphere.
Food was fantastic. We ordered beef with pea pods and chicken pad se ew. Delicious! Service was slightly slow. We waited 15 mins to even be recognized by the staff. It was not busy when we sat down. The poor service was acceptable because the food was so darn good!
Food was great! The service was not. Came in on a quiet Sunday evening, not busy at all. Food came out in 15 min increments, by the time the last person got served the other two were finished eating.
Dinner shouldn't take almost an hour and a half especially on a slow night.
Thai tea and dumplings
A gem for Chattanooga! My kid got the ramen and loved it! The dumplings are so good. The curries are great. The basil fried rice and Phuket fried rice are the best fried rice I’ve ever had in my life. Super friendly service even when busy. You just try it! Also some vegan options which is a real treat for our vegan friends.
The menu has many wonderful options! Our dishes were delicious! Yummy is right! Service was quick and our server was great! We had a really nice experience. Only suggestion is to lower the music volume.
Clean, great service, terrific food!
The dumplings and coconut soup were fantastic, the pineapple fried rice was the best I've ever had! We also loved the panang curry. Really delicious food and the price point was very affordable with large portions. We will be back soon!
Honestly my rating says it all, the story of this amazing restaurant is heart touching and the owners are all family. Everyone takes turns helping with tables and caring for each customer with patience and professionalism.
The food quality and taste is something that brings many repeat customers eager to come back. The atmosphere has a perfect balance of modern and traditional that really gives the perfect environment to feel welcomed and authentic. I look forward to visiting again.
One of the owners even brought me and my family some deserts that they have been working on and asked for our opinions. The dish was somewhat similar of a funnel cake design with a very light and fluffy crust, paired perfectly with some ice cream.
Had Dumplings, Spring rolls, Thai basil fried rice, Pad ke mao, Red Curry and sticky rice. Red curry and sticky rice were good but the rest of them were average to below average. Dumplings lacked flavour and spring rolls tasted weird.
And the worst part was the service, in fact, the worst service I experienced in Chattanooga. I made a reservation for our party of 3 beforehand and when I went to restaurant, the person at desk said that they are no longer taking any new guests. I said that we already have a reservation and she mentioned that she cancelled it. When I asked her that I wasn’t informed of the cancellation, she started getting restless and said something like we can’t do anything. Meanwhile another waitress came over and arranged us seating outside. Even though we were pretty pissed about the whole interaction, we still gave the food a try. I wouldn’t be visiting the place again.
Beautiful Restaurant. Food was excellent. Service was superb. We had our favorite orders from the food truck but we decided to try some of the new menu items. We weren’t disappointed.
Yummy Thai is hands down my favorite Thai food in town.
I was really looking forward to having some good Thai food in town, but alas, mediocre at best.
The food here is simply superb. The staff is friendly and we met the chefs and the owners! They really strive to make you feel like family. We are going to dine here at the least once a month!
The service has been outstanding. We came with kids and these guys accommodated us very sweetly, even creating custom menu items for us. The food was also really good especially the green curry.
Amazing customer service. Great food!!
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Will return
The food and service were exceptional, and our server was incredibly friendly. The portion sizes are generous, especially for the price. However, the only downside was the temperature inside—it was quite warm, and a cooler environment would have made the experience perfect. Despite this, I would definitely dine here again.
There was only one server sitting people, taking orders, answering phone orders. She was great, friendly and very apologetic but was overwhelmed, they need more wait staff. Love the food!
Delicious variety of dishes with complex flavors and generous portions. Worth it!
I love each of my experiences here. Great food, great staff, great vibes.
Awesome food, Thai tea is great too 😋
Forgot my dumplings out on the patio and was completely ignored by the staff!!!!
I called and made reservations on a Sunday evening. We quickly sat and didn't see our server till we were there for 10 mins. We placed our drink order and dinner. My wife got her Thai tea 20 minutes after that and our dinner arrived 50 minutes after being seated. Our server never once came by to say anything. We both enjoyed the food but the service is poor and has us questioning whether it's worth returning.
We visited during the soft opening earlier this month. We got to-go the Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Pad Kee Mao, and a Thai Tea. We were pleasantly surprised by the big portion sizes and how good the noodle dishes were. We would happily try them again the next time we're craving Thai cuisine. The Thai Tea, on the other hand, was a bit lackluster--it had a good flavor but tasted very watery and had too much ice despite us requesting less ice.
I'm docking one star because of the surprise credit card fee. I'm normally fine with this, but there was no signage anywhere indicating this nor were we verbally notified of the surcharge during check out. If the restaurant puts up a sign or makes it a point to let customers know beforehand, I'll happily change the review.
This place is phenomenal! Food, atmosphere, service, everything 10/10 Koleby was very attentive and answered all our questions with ease. Definitely would recommend to stop by here if you’re in the area! 😊
This place was incredible. By far the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Definitely best in Chattanooga. Try the Massaman Curry and the Lad Naa - could not stop eating it.
10000000%% best Thai in Chattanooga!
Excited to try out this new place for a birthday celebration meal. Excellent food- best vegan pad thai I’ve had. Group of 5 and we all enjoyed it immensely.
We really enjoyed our meals. Can't wait to see the full bar experience!
Kolby was a great server!!! They had half of the restaurant to serve, and did a really awesome job despite being so busy. I’ve tried the chicken pad Thai, basil fried rice, spring rolls, yummy rolls, and dumplings. All were FAB!!!! Also, note the portion sizes are huge!!! So it’s really a bang for ya buck
Prices were reasonable especially for made to order food. Lunch for my party of 6 was disappointing as I had high expectations. Service showed lack of experience. Food presentation was unusual (stir fry turned out to be a steamed soup) some seasoning choses not to our liking, (Soup was sugary tasting versus savory as we were accustomed). Atmosphere was OK. A little dark but could be a welcome retreat from midday sun, An interesting and visually dramatic mural on back wall, worth a visit by itself for an art lover. other wise interior spartan, perhaps in the uncluttered Japanese fashion. View of the kitchen is available and would be entertaining for those who like to cook. Some serving dishes had interesting floral shapes. Floor under table a little dirty, menu stained, with lack of sign, hard to find.
Unless you live at One North Shore, don't drive here and pay to park, wait a while for them to get their act together and see if they measure up. As for me, I will drive and try the dinner Vibe and try some other menu items beside the disappointing soup and stir fry.
Chris, Ran out of room, important comments at Google Maps food truck site.
Place is great. If you’re looking for a sign to give it a try, this is it.
My wife and I came down to chattanooga and actually headed towards another restaurant to only find it was closed. We thought "dang" but we saw someone carrying a to go box in the area and we followed the food box to end up here. What a great experience at their "soft opening". They took us in like we were family and served us some great food. Big portion sizes. Nothing but great things to say about this place. Thanks again!
We’re so happy to have yummy Thai in our area!!! Delicious food and friendly service.
Best Thai food in Chattanooga hands down! Awesome addition to downtown.
Update upon reflection...
The Good: My first visit was pretty good, and the food was perfect. I'd been craving a good bowl of Tom Kha Gai, and it was right on point. Rich flavorful broth and plenty of mushrooms and chicken. The Pad Ke Mao also had a proper tanginess of flavor and thickness of the sauce. More than enough, portion-wise for your price point. The Yummy rolls and Chicken Satay also rated a great meld of flavors. It was obvious that the waitstaff is working through learning the system but didn't get the orders incorrect. Left feeling pleased with the meal and very happy to have proper Tom Kha Gai again.
The Bad: second visit was a two hour ordeal where many at my table waited an hour and a half waiting on meals after apps were consumed. My wife finally canceled her order, and a friend waited another 30 mins after she just asked them to change it to go.
The ugly: Due to being out of mushrooms, our Tom Kha Gai was delivered with Cauliflower subbed in place of the missing mushrooms. All three orders of it were sent back untouched as we were not informed beforehand. One of us does not eat cauliflower, and the other two were simply offended by it and would have requested it be left out...if we had just been asked. Personally, I would have waited for the mushrooms to be added, as I saw them being brought in as our Tom Faux Gai was coming to our table.
It was an off day, to be sure, so we will be back next week to see if they have the kinks worked out. I really do love this family's recipes (former owners of Thai Esan family members) so I'm hoping they find someone to keep kitchen inventory tighter so they can work on solid prep and delivery to tables.
Phenomenal food and spice level on point. Loved the food as much as the hostess. And the mango iced tea is refreshing. After eating there I had to take a walk with my friend before I fell asleep in my seat
Best Thai food in chattanooga hands down. So good I couldn't even get a picture before I ate it all. Definitely competes with the quality of thai you would get in bigger cities. So glad to have yummy thai in town!
Best red curry I’ve had in town and I’ve had them all! I am super excited for the opening of this restaurant downtown Chattanooga. I will be taking my mortgage team here for lunch on a regular basis and of course picking up takeout for the wife 😎. Great job!!!
My fiancé and I were big fans of the food truck and are so excited for their brick and mortar. It did not disappoint! Definitely the best Thai that Chattanooga has to offer. Even though I was already huge fan of their food truck, this new restaurant exceeded my expectations! The menu was extensive and my table ordered all new items for maximum variety. The papaya salad, jerky, tom kha gai, curries (especially with market seafood!), mango sticky rice, everything we ordered was exceptional. I’m a bit of a snob coming from Houston and Austin where Thai food is far more plentiful, and I would say this Thai restaurant is not only my new favorite in SE TN, it’s one of the best I’ve ever gotten to eat at anywhere 😋
The food is awesome - be patient with them as they get their rhythm, in soft opening now - but wow! The food is fabulous !!!!!!! They care about quality and work very hard to get it right! This will be a favorite!!
So proud of Diana and Chris!!! 🥳 Yummy Thai is a magical place to visit and the best Thai food! If you loved the food truck, you will love the restaurant too. Yummy food and great customer service. I love the location and decor. Very authentic Thai food. You will not be disappointed. I normally drive to Atlanta for this level of authenticity and flavor.
