The Crab Fried rice is amazing, been back three times in two weeks!😂 😊

Diner Review №2

Worst Thai food of my life. Like others have posted, my food had frozen veggies dumped in the dish that tasted like water. So overpriced for the inedible food with no flavor.

Diner Review №3

Food is good but totally overpriced.

Diner Review №4

Large menu with lots of vegetarian and vegan options in their own section! They clearly understand what those terms mean too (not trying to be snarky but I've had lots of servers think fish or chicken is vegetarian and it's not). I had the tofu massaman curry and it was delicious! HUGE portions and the service was prompt and helpful with lots of water refills. BYOB too with a liquor store right next door which is convenient. The bathroom wasn't super clean but not horrifying by any means (just soap scum buildup). I would happily come back or get take out!

Diner Review №6

We have eaten here so many times over the years and it’s always been great. Haven’t had it in over 6 months and today we ordered in and it was terrible. The vegetables in my curry was a packet of frozen carrots peas and green beans. And the curry was as thin as chicken soup. We will not be returning again which is a shame bc this was our favorite Thai place in this area of the city.

Diner Review №7

Autumn Spring roll had a creative seasonal variation. Two other curries we tried had big chunks of potato which we did not appreciate. Service and ambience were good.

Diner Review №8

The food here is absolutely delicious!! I wanted everything on the menu. So many options and a lot of vegetarian options too! They also made my birthday so special. I will be back, often!

Diner Review №9

Great food and the best Thai tea!!!

Diner Review №10

Delicious Drunken noodle & shrimp pineapple fried rice. Spicy!

Diner Review №11

We expected great food and I was wondering if anyone was actually cooking here. Terrible food. Traders Joe's would have been a better Thai food option. Not sure what's going on here.

Diner Review №12

Diner Review №13

Love the new setup! Food is really good and tons of gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options. BYOB!

Diner Review №14

Skipli lied in interviews, did not pay employees enough

Diner Review №15

I’ve had a disappointing experience working at SKIPLI. The company lacks transparency in the salary payment process, leading to confusion and frustration among employees. Many of us have noticed underpayment issues, which have not been adequately addressed by management.

Diner Review №16

My fiancé and I have ordered from here about 10 times and it used to be delicious. we ordered the lettuce wraps and pad Thai tonight and they were so bad. I had to call the restaurant to see if they had a new chef or new recipe and they said both.

Diner Review №17

When it's good, it's really good. But their spiciness levels are so inconsistent that I'm about to give up and drive to the next closest place. When I order mild/level 1, I literally don't know if I'm going to get almost flavorless practically just coconut milk with no curry flavor, or something any other restaurant would consider medium spicy or above. My tummy can't take the spice, my wallet doesn't appreciate the risk, and I'm tired of having my hopes dashed when I'm excited for delicious takeout and I end up not even being able to eat it because it's so spicy. I've been coming here for literally years, and they used to be really consistent, but something changed a few years ago and it still hasn't gone back to its former consistency. I'm done. Sorry y'all. You're nice people but you need to get your recipes consistent from one day to the next no matter who's cooking, if you want to keep your customers.

Diner Review №18

Great food and service!

Diner Review №19

Our team loves the food here and the staff are always so nice and accommodating. Salads to seafood - always delicious. My daughter loves the crab dish. I walk over and order for take out and it's always ready promptly. This is my favorite Thai place!

Diner Review №20

I just left with food i ordered.
I ordered food on phone . Went there it wasn’t ready. Waited 50 minutes!!! Still wasn’t ready. Horrible service
They were keep telling me
Your food is in the wak now for half an hour!!!

Diner Review №21

The crispy basil beef is absolutely horrendous. The beef is so charred you literally cannot taste anything else. The pad thai does not taste authentic all, it resembles some type of Chinese fried noodle dish. And they don't seem to use actual chili in the green curry. I think it must be some type of hot chili powder. Overall, pretty terrible. Would never order again.

Diner Review №22

Diner Review №23

Best thai food in the area. Very authentic

Diner Review №24

Diner Review №25

Fried rice with crab is bland. Spring rolls were mushy. No condiments as requested.

Diner Review №26

Delicious food. Great service. Highly recommend.

Diner Review №27

Diner Review №28

Beautiful quiet atmosphere great Thai food.

Diner Review №29

This Thai restaurant has been going downhill for the past year – higher prices, average quality, slow service – and many in the community now avoid it. A perfect example is this Friday night when I decided to order delivery and give them another chance. When I placed my order, the woman there said “we don’t deliver” although it says “Fee Delivery” on their website. When I mentioned that fact, she seemed surprised and said their deliverer was not working.
I changed it to pick-up and after placing my small or der for 2 people, she said stop over in 45 minutes. That seemed long but I arrived an hour later. There 4-5 people waiting. When I got to the counter, she said my order would not be ready for another 20-30 minutes. That would be 90 minutes after I phone it in! For a Thai meal!
Worse there was no apology or explanation. She just turned and walked away. Two of the people waiting said they had been waiting almost 30 minutes on top of the hour after calling in. One said his girlfriend experienced the same problem a week earlier.
Thai Kuu needs new management and a new attitude that treats its customers with respect. Needless to say, I will not be going there again and cannot recommends it.

Diner Review №34

delicious, nice service, and cute atmosphere

Diner Review №35

This used to be a really good place for Thai food in Chestnut Hill but they've increased the prices a lot over the last few years and the quantity of food has reduced.

Diner Review №36

Thai Kuu's food is delicious - we love their spicy green curry, warm pad thai, and spring rolls (vegetarian versions) and pad pong karee seafood dishes. They are a bit pricey (update 2023: even more so & drives me crazy also to charge $3 for a standard small size of rice in addition to the costly entree), but portions are usually generous and often sufficient for 1.5-2 meals. We were delighted to support local restaurants via takeaway during the pandemic, but are often so frustrated by the lead gentleman at Thai Kuu. His customer service is abysmal, and it seems that they cannot handle their order volume in any organised fashion. We have had several orders just canceled, one about which we were never contacted and were just told 'sorry' when I drove to pick up. The gentleman (owner?) who answers the phone (often with a long wait on hold) and handles the take-away pick-up seems overwhelmed and, importantly, entirely unconcerned & a bit rude about his customers not being happy about canceled orders or something not being quite right as ordered. The chefs seem to be working very hard in the kitchen and consistently make wonderfully delicious creations.

Please improve your customer service and consider reducing your pricing, as we love your food and your chefs, but are extraordinarily disappointed in our interpersonal interactions with the Thai Kuu lead customer service and find that its relatively high cost for Thai food deters us from ordering often.

Diner Review №37

The pad see-ew is the best in Philly, by far! The flavor is perfectly balanced and the dish has just the right amount of veggies.

Diner Review №38

Finally found a Thai restaurant nearest to me . While I don’t find the food authentic I do find it delicious. They charge extra for everything so it easy to run up your bill. While I like small portions, you may have to order an appetizer or extra meat to be fully. I started out ordering pick before dinning inn. Pick up time is accurate and food was hot. My dine in experience was great, nice small intimate dinning space. Staff were attentive and our food was hot when it arrived to our table. This is vegetarian paradise! Most meals have the option to have meat added. This is now my daughter’s favorite restaurant.

Diner Review №40

Woww, very nice place to dine in

Diner Review №41

Has been delicious for years. We went tonight and the server was extremely kind, and the food was fresh and delicious.

Diner Review №42

Diner Review №43

This is David from Hood proz .Our crew services the hood , they provided us with a courtesy dish. it was great, and the nicest lady I've ever met ! Ty

Diner Review №44

Pad Thai was oily noodles. No sauce, No peanuts, No egg. How can they mess up that bad??? Curry was good. Lettuce wraps were very good. Take out was later then expected time. I have no desire to go here again.

Diner Review №45

I visited a Thai restaurant in Pittsburgh and it was great. When I got back to Philly I googled Thai restaurants and came across Thai Kuu and could not try their food. What a disappointment!! I ordered Drunken Noodle with Shrimp (noodles were over cooked) the dish were horrible did not come with rice. I also got Rice with Crab Meat it was ok nothing to write home about. The meal came to $50 plus over priced food. Don't waste your money there!!!!

Diner Review №46

Diner Review №47

I have been looking for a great Thai place in Philly and I've found it! It's a very intimate place and upscale...reminds me of NYC. Everything was excellent, the food was good quality and the servers are attentive. I'll definitely be back again to try the curry!

Diner Review №48

Good food alittle pricey

Diner Review №49

Both Pad Thai and Thai Basil Fried Rice dishes were wet/soggy. We were disappointed and surprised because the waitress asked if we preferred wet or dry, and we said dry. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to others.

Diner Review №50

Diner Review №51

Nice service, great menu. They know all the gluten free item well. Thank you!!!!

Diner Review №52

Diner Review №53

I don't know where to begin. Let me start out by saying, "PERFECT". Thai Kuu recently hosted my "cozy" promotion ceremony for 18 guests. CJ was an absolute delight to work with as we planned this long distance; very attentive. She offered me their Restaurant Week menu as the PERFECT option for my guests. This was ideal as even THIS menu provided a diversity of choices. What I love about Thai food, besides the taste, is the variety so that vegetarians and gluten free people have delicious options too. Everyone raved about the food. I knew they would as I first did take out here in the summer of 2020. The atmosphere was delightful. I can't recall how many times CJ and I hugged from the sheer happiness of being family. I couldn't have chosen a better venue for such an intimate event. It was "home" with adequate parking. Khob Khun Kaaa, CJ and the Thai Kuu family, you're unforgettable. 💙💛⚓

If you are thinking dinner before a movie, you will either miss the movie or walk out after waiting 1+ hour for the first course.

Diner Review №57

Excellent food, best Thai iced tea you'll ever have.

Diner Review №58

Horrible service. I've ordered from this place for some time, food is decent but their service is unprofessional. Waited for hour and half for my food and they offered no apologies. They lost customer today.

Diner Review №59

I ordered basic Shrimp Fried Rice, It was the worst I've ever had, Honestly.. the shrimp tasted old.. Never again!

Diner Review №60

$35 for Pad See Ew is nuts, but when it’s this small it’s down right robbery. 5 shrimp (which I paid for) and some chicken. Delivery was prompt . Overall taste pretty lousy…one and done

Diner Review №68

way too expensive

Diner Review №69

My first visit was me and my husband dining in for Valentine's Day! Delicious!!!! Great prices and beautiful atmosphere. Staff was friendly and food came fast.

Diner Review №70

Do not order delivery from Thai Kuu. Order never arrived and they do not pick up their phone. Impossible to track your order.

Diner Review №71

This place was DELICIOUS as far as the sauce!!! ..... Note I ONLY got 3 shrimp 🍤 wit my entree!!! 🤤

Diner Review №72

Amazing Thai food. Spice rating from 1-5 allows you to individualize each order.

Diner Review №73

Some of the best Thai food I've had in the city so that's a major plus. Service was great

Atmosphere is why it's not 5 stars. The slow 90s country music playing the whole time was just very odd IMO.

Diner Review №74

Lovely restaurant and staff. I've ordered close to a dozen times in the past year and yesterday was my first trip dining in. Their shrimp pad Thai is my go to dish! Wish I was a bit more adventurous with their menu but maybe in due time. Pickup times are very accurate when ordering out and their site is convenient and simple. I also like that you can customize the spice level and even though I eat every part of their dish, I never leave feeling uncomfortably stuffed. You can tell they use quality ingredients and not a lot of oils or additives and my body really appreciates that lol

Diner Review №75

Fantastic Thai place! Drunken noddles a must!

Diner Review №76

Diner Review №77

Ordered late last night and decided to tip extra since i hate ordering close to closing time.

not only was our food great, but they gave me a complimentary order of drunken noodles as a thank you.

Will definitely be ordering again!

Diner Review №81

First time going and everything was amazing, and the service was super friendly.

Diner Review №82

We got the drunken noodles, tom yum soup, and appetizer sampler - honestly, we’ve had much better Thai food elsewhere. The chicken was very dry, the soup lacked flavor, and the appetizers tasted like they were made from a frozen package. It truly wasn’t worth the price or the effort to go pick it up.

Diner Review №83

The grilled sticky rice with taro is incredible

Diner Review №84

Diner Review №85

Take out Portions are a joke. Paid $17 an entree for something that looks like a kids meal. Over priced and not woth it in my opinion.

Diner Review №86

Staff were very friendly and made my first experience getting Thai food a great one!

Diner Review №87

Great food. Outside dinning for now.
Bring your own utensils so you don't have to use heir disposable plastic, and maybe paper plates, to avoid their plastic ones.

Diner Review №93

Great food and great service; lovely atmosphere. The staff and management are super accommodating and nice. We LOVE this place and have introduced it to others.

Diner Review №94

The crabmeat fried rice was good. Very small portions for the price. No sauce or condiments were served with the takeout order. Plus delivery was very slow.

Diner Review №95

Diner Review №96

I had high hopes seeing the reviews but food was disappointing. Tom yum doesn’t taste anything like Tom yum. Not so authentic.

Diner Review №97

The food wasn't very authentic. Their Tom Yum soup tasted like a spicy version of Campbell's tomato soup instead of Tom Yum.

Diner Review №98

Food is always excellent. The Chef Nguyen Tran knows what he is doing. Always consistent. The other cooks, Sheed and Paula are equally as good. And, when delivered, the food will be piping hot. Thank Kelly for that.

Diner Review №99

The restaurant was dirty and the people were rude . They use frozen frost bitten seafood.we all got food poisoning.
We paid 35$ for a 3 oz. Foul tasting sea bass
And refused to replace it.new owner is horrible. DO NOT EAT THIS FOOD

Diner Review №103

I LOVE this food and I'm so sad that I am UNWILLING to order from here until they decide to change their policy during Covid-19.

I called just now, because I heard from a friend that they don't require their kitchen staff to wear masks or gloves.

My friend used to love getting food from here and once about a week ago (last week of August) she said the guy at the front counter didn't have his mask on and when she asked him to put a mask on, he did. The other person in the store (who he said was his wife), wasn't wearing a mask. He went on to state that they don't require their kitchen staff to wear masks either.

I found this hard to believe and so I called them and he confirmed what she had said & he seemed rather irritated by my asking and then hung up.

If I'm the only one that feels this way, you should keep going there. If you are more in my camp of how this is an important part of crushing this Pandemic, I encourage you to STOP - but tell them why you aren't going to order.

I look forward to them changing their position/policy so I can enjoy their food instead of having to drive to Conshohocken to Chang Mai to get my Thai Food Fix.

Food and service is always great! I’ve been going to this restaurant more than 3 years. Fresh food, I love the fried tofu appetizer, spicy basil, and crab fried rice.

Diner Review №112

The food was awesome, I had the duck with ginger and it was outstanding. Everyone loved there meals. Service was great. Its a BYOB.

Diner Review №113

Definitely a hidden gem! My cousin was raving about this place so we had to try it. We went when it first opened on a Sunday. The food was extremely fresh. The lunch combo is such a great deal! Its also BYOB- so how can you go wrong!! Parking is ample. They even brought a little dresser for my cousin since it was her birthday. Service was great. There was enough room for us to comfortably seat six. We all had a great time. Everything is good. Period!!

This is one of my favorite hidden gems. Thai Kuu’s ambiance is great for any occasion. The food is delicious. The staff is always pleasant and it’s BYOB! They are very accommodating as well. I usually get the Crab Meat Fried Rice because it’s just that good. Hope this helps. Blessings Always and Happy Eating!!

Diner Review №121

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous lunch at this spot. I have been to a few Thai place searching for a Panang Curry that was similar to one that I loved back home (Indiana) & this place was hands down THE PLACE! My husband loved the green curry he ordered and said it had the perfect amount of heat. The establishment had beautiful decor and the perfect atmosphere for date night or laid back night out with friends. Only two restrooms and not very big space-wise but is very cozy. I would not say this is a kid friendly restaurant, and found out the hard way that there are no baby changing tables. Thank goodness parking was close! The servers were very friendly and helpful. The range is between $$-$$$. This establishment does accept credit/debit cards.

Diner Review №122

Found this restaurant a little bit overpriced for its quality and taste.
We usually eat at Thai orchid,Blue Bell and we thought that it has better taste than this one

Firstly we had called 4 hours early to make a reservation and the person noted my name and number for the resrvation. However when we went there they could not find our reservation. We had prove to them that we had called by showing my call logs!
Secondly, The service was very slow and we had to remind the waiter couple times. The complementary dish has shrimp in it and cannot be enjoyed by everyone.

We ordered the Basil fried rice which was good and the Red curry which was very spicy inspite of the spice level requested was 3.

The chocolate lava ckae was very good! The presenation was nice.

Overall a decent place to go if you are in the area.

Diner Review №123

Diner Review №124

Diner Review №125

The service in this place is outstanding, as well as the atmosphere and prices. However, the food is not as tasty as I was expecting. There are several Thai places in the area with an authentic flavour. This place lacks of that. The food is good quality but not Thai. I think this is more like a fusion restaurant. If you have never had Thai food before, this place will be ok, but if you really like this type of food you might be disappointed.

Diner Review №126

Diner Review №127

I love this place, especially their chicken pad thai and chicken lettuce wraps.

Diner Review №128

The worst service. Except for one couple. I was the only other person. I waited 9 mins to get acknowledged. Another 13 mins for half the food and another 10 mins for the rest. The counter would leave for 10 mins at a time

Diner Review №133

Diner Review №134

Terrible! The dumplings were chewy and tasted like they just came out of the grocery freezer aisle.
It was extremely disappointing. The massaman curry lacked taste and the chicken was over cooked. One can find better Thai food at Fridays.
Try Nadias or House of thai.
Wish they would make an effort!

Thai Kuu is a great restaurant to stop by for a quick, tasty meal. There's a nice selection of Thai food entrees at very affordable prices. The service is prompt, and the food is hot and delicious. The restaurant itself is very small, but overall it has a nice ambiance due to its elegant decor. I don't recommend large parties to dine there; however, this place is perfect for meeting with a couple friends for lunch.

Diner Review №164

Good food every time

Diner Review №165

Good food

Diner Review №166

Food was pretty good and they give some decent sized portions which was a pleasant surprise. The noise level is moderate as its a small space and seems to be a neighborhood gem so it gets pretty crowded. It was also my first time having crab fried rice, though they provided a good amount of crab meat I think the rice wouldve went bettet with shrimp.

Nice location with good service and good food. However, it's a tight fit for multiple tables that prevent private conversations...found it to be loud with others around us. Also, very cold if seated near a window... plan to wear your coat thru the meal if there on a winter day.

Diner Review №178

This is a very good authentic Thai restaurant. The food is fresh with lots of interesting flavors. The prices, particularly for lunch, are very reasonable, and the service was very attentive. In addition to appetizers and main courses, the desserts and drinks are also excellent. An all together superb experience.

We used 2 go a few years ago(when they had the "Hot Rock" ) I think they changed ownership in '16 or early'17? Asking the new owners about the missing Hot Rock I was given a strange reason about the CITY making them do it?Strange the City allowed it for a few prior years?
I think they just wanted a change .
Ate there 1 time about 16 months ago and staff seemed very uncaring food was on a 1 to 10 about 6, general attitude a 4, Out door seating is rarely open even in nice weather ??? VERY STRANGE.
I stopped going when Indian restaurant (Benjara? Sp.) just across the court opened (the old Heritage Place) great food, friendly, fairly priced.

Food and atmosphere was great!

Diner Review №192

We were very excited to try this place. For appetizers, we had the steamed dumplings for the appetizers...nothing special, but good. We ordered the hot and sour soup...terrible, all you can taste is the sourness with a lot of spice, no other flavor at all.
For entree we ordered Red curry, on a scale of 1-5 we ordered level 2...it was so spicy we could barely taste anything else. It numbed our taste buds, and being Indians we are used to spicy! We finally sent it back and asked for a milder version, the chef sent out what tasted like sweetened coconut milk...more like dessert than dinner entree, it had NO flavor. We had to send that back. I was ready to leave but my husband was hungry and the third time they finally added a little bit of spice...but still no flavor. Dont think we will be returning..

Diner Review №193

Diner Review №198

The food is really good, the portions are really small for the price.

Diner Review №199

We used to really like this place! Not sure what happened, but the last two times we had one of their curry dishes, it was inedible. Not just spicy, but numb-your-mouth spicy. Because this happened when we last ordered take-out, I specified mild when we recently ate in (third week of September). Same exact thing - inedible!
Tip to the chef - when food is this spicy, it doesn't taste good; it only camouflages the taste!
