I have driven past this place for years and always said we should try it. We got takeout on New Year’s Eve. It was very good and nice size portions. The inside is roomy and clean with a fantastic looking dining room area. The staff seemed friendly, a bit over anxious but I think they were geared up for the rush. Saw some nice lunch specials that I am going to try at a different time.

Always drove by it and saw advertising in our local Clipper but never jumped in until a few days ago. Three Asians cuisine, Chinese, Japanese and Thai. Had dinner with my family, my daughter ordered shrimp fried rice, my wife had Mei fun noodles while I ordered the yellow curry tofu. We all also shared sushi rolls, sashimi and hand rolled sushi. My curry dish was amazing just as good as if I had it at a Thai only restaurant. My daughter said the best fried rice she’s had and the same with my wife’s noodle dish. Plenty of different dishes to choose from specially if your family can agree on a cuisine. The service was great and attentive and the atmosphere was nice and mellow.

DO NOT EAT HERE !!!!!!!!! . I cannot put enough exclamation points to let you know I’m serious . I ordered sesame chicken. I called them to ask them what kind of chicken they use for it.. you know what they said ? “ BONELESS CHICKEN “ . sooooo whyyyy do I have a THIN bone in my chicken ???? Then she said oh , sometimes we have a thick bone in it by accident . A thick bone ? Listen hunny .i don’t know what they serving but it damn sure ain’t chicken . I’m never eating here again . What chicken bone do you know looks like this ? Ewwww . 0 stars . Threw my whole food away . And 2nd off . Why can’t someone pick the type of rice they want for maybe an extra charge ? I HAD to order sesame chicken with white rice instead of pork fried rice . She said I had to order an extra side just to get pork fried rice for a whole extra $10 on top of the white rice . They are ridiculous !

The Golden Mushroom is outstanding with Chinese, Japanese and Thai food. The sushi chef is excellent! I've been there 30-40 times and keep going back. I highly recommend it.

Food was good. Service was friendly and attentive. Wood come back when we're next in the neighborhood.

Disappointing. One waiter served 10 tables. Sushi came out... The kitchen forgot our main course but made it on the bill. Not worth the wait or visit.

I appreciate the casual setting and friendly staff here. Their shrimp pad thai is one of my go-to meals.

The wait staff really needs to learn some social skills, as well as serving etiquette. I'm dumbfounded by the rudeness of the wait staff! I don't know what happened to this place, but it's definitely changed. I'm so sick and tired of people in customer service not knowing how to treat patrons. Screw this place, never again. You're lucky you even got a tip.

Just a great place for takeaway and dine in. I love the complementary noodles and tea. They have great food, good variety, and good portions. Everything is incredibly fresh and delightful.

Absolutely appalled. My co workers and I ordered a big delivery order.. one of my co workers asked for a difference sauce because they’re allergic to peanut sauces and they refused to accommodate. How are you going to refuse to accommodate someone with an allergy? And with one of my meals, there was a fried piece of PLASTIC. This is just appalling and i will never be ordering from here again

Best Chinese in the area

They have an awesome Japanese Lunch Box Special. So worth the visit if you're into sushi.

My family goes here alot for food and tonight we ordered to pickup and found multiple bones in there general tuso chicken my brother almost choked on the bone never again you lose my business and the shrimp and lobster sauce was watered down tasted like nothing but garbage

The Golden mushroom was and still is more expensive than most Chinese restaurants, but the ingredients were fresher and the food WAS really good.

The portion of protein served as of Nov 2022 in each dish and quality of the protein has drastically diminished since the new owners which I found out only by looking up online coincidentally around the same time of this change in quality.

The shrimp portions and size is pitiful in shrimp and broccoli, the portions of beef and chicken are jokes as well; the beef more then chicken. It's a real shame, I used to love them.

TLDR; lunch portions for dinner prices, change in ownership cause diminished portions and quality.

I'll give them another shot in a few months and update.

Honestly, I’m usually pretty happy with this place. I love the lunch special that they have. One of my favorite Chinese spots in Rockland.

Unbelievable...the Golden Mushroom has NEW Owners!!♡♡♡ I got a take-out Obento Box - Vegetable Tempura !!!! It was Delicious 😋!!!! The gentleman that took my order was very kind! When he handed me my order to go the shopping bag was VERY heavy...lots of delicious food. The Miso Soup was delicious !!! I will definitely return to try out some other Chinese favorites. They also offer Thai food as well. Delivery is also available. NOTE: Everyone was masked! ☆☆☆☆

Wow… what an awesome place I came across. Steamed dumplings 🥟 the meat inside is so tender. I’m very picky with my food 🍱 but this place is a hidden gem ! Pork fried rice not salty or over done at all. Good prices please give this place a shot if in Rockland county.

So nice to have white tablecloths and a nice pot of Chinese tea. Had a wonderful experience last night the waiter was was fantastic the food was delicious ,will definitely come here again.

I went with a large group & they were nice enough to give us a table in a private room. Their menu is huge & diverse from Chinese, Japanese, sushi, Thai. Everyone tried something they never had before & everyone was very satisfied. I had coconut chicken which was delicious. Don't expect combo dishes like regular Chinese restaurants. Everything is a la carte which could get a little expensive but it's worth it. Our waiter was wonderful. He took care of 11 people on his own & did a great job.

Beautiful place and wonderful food. Both the interior and exterior of this place are stunning, especially the beautiful fish tank they have inside. The food is spectacular and if you're ordering pick-up; they're extremely fast at preparing it. I would highly recommend.

The restaurant used to be great. Covid I understand all other restaurants are open and the food here is horrible gave them a second chance worse. No plastic wear no inside dining do not order from there the food was burnt and missed an additional order meanwhile offering me a 5 dollar discount like I would ever go again

I just called for a delivery. The woman on the phone was nasty and rude. She asked me to hurry up with my order when I making changes. Then she very rudely told me she had to run to the kitchen to ask them not to make something while I was still ordering my food. I would imagine someone would wait until the customer was done with his order. As if that wasn't enough, she took down my credit card info wrong and had to call again. This time very apologetic for her rude behaviour because I asked to cancel my order

My husband likes Chinese and I like Thai food so this place was great! But the prices were a bit high. General Tsao's chicken was $13.50 including rice. Soup was extra. I got yellow curry shrimp for $18 with rice . Soup was extra.

I always come here when I'm visiting my parents in Rockland. It's really high quality chinese takeout food and worth the price. I highly recommend their orange beef. It's crispy, chewy, and the sauce is simply delicious.

Love this place

Everytime I order something here, it really is not fresh nor exceptional. Today I ordered delivery, a spider roll and a salmon dinner box, and my order came without the tempura sauce and they just forced me to wait nearly half an hour to have it delivered, when I would have been fine with promorional credit instead...because by the time it arrived, my food was cold.

I ordered a spider roll, and let me tell you, it smelled and tasted rancid. Like mold. I have never had a spider roll look or taste like the one I ordered here. The sushi here I already knew was sub par compared to authentic Japanese sushi, but the spider roll was soft and not crunchy, and looked MUSHY. Everything on it smeled and tasted old. Am I really being served second hands or something?

The week before I tried the Thai ho fun and it tasted like I was eating plain bland noodles with no sauce. And I have had thai rice noodle entrees elsewhere that I have loved before.

The time previous to that in which I ordered, I asked for some inari, and the price on the menu was different than the new one that they had (they upped it a dollar) and when I told her that she didn't tell me after I ordered, she just said "oh well, we can change the prices at any time." then when I asked for it to be removed from my delivery order she just said no because the driver was on the way already. And she didn't tell me the price subtotal after I ordered because she said the computer was down so she would call me back and tell me the price. How unprofessional? You don't even give me the price initially then change it afterwards? To make the matters worse, the inari was BARELY stuffed with sushi rice. It was like a teaspoon fo rice in the huge pockets. Nearly 6 dollars for 2 pieces of that?

You're better off ordering japanese food from a real japanese restaurant. Especially with the unhelpful customer service, not worth giving your business to them.

I love this place. I've only been here 4 or 5 times but every time I'm here I have the best service and the best food. Every single employee in the building is amazing and helpful and funny. The food comes out so quickly and every dish I've ever gotten is delicious. The Peking duck....wow

Best/Most Authentic Asian meal I have!!!...EVER!!! *Lunch Special: Garlic Shrimp w/Hot & Sour Soup, a perfect combination of sweet and heat...The fresh Sushi Bar and Adult Beverage-Bar selection alone called to me at a deeper level!!! Best Chinese food in Rockland country!

Three of us went there for Dinner and we had the choice of ordering dinner specials, or ALA-CART. Chose ALA-CART. We had Dim-Sum,
Pork Dumplings, Boneless Ribs, Chicken and Broccoli, Pork Fried Rice, and Shrimp Mei Fun.
We tried All of the portions like a mini buffet at our table and Enjoyed All of it. We also ordered a few drinks from the bar. Unfortunately they were more alcohol then flavor.
But Overall Great Time, Great Food, Good Service.

Great place for Asian food. Nice atmosphere. Many options allow you to pick a meat or fish add sauce or style. Prices reasonable. Loved bok choy and a separate dish of eggplant. Tom kha soup very tasty.
