The yellow Thai veggie curry was okay, so were the fish cutlets. The curry is served with plain white rice which is freshly prepped and perfectly cooked. Too much tofu chunks in both the dishes though!

Everytime I've gone here in person the food and service was good. Everytime I order to go when I get home I am extremely disappointed. Tonight I ordered orange chicken. It was soggy and sitting in watery sauce for some reason and there were two pieces of soggy cold broccoli.... My husband ordered the krispy duck and ginger and he said it was perfect. IDK why I always get the short end of the stick. Maybe it's the items I order but I literally had to throw away my OVERPRICED cold meal....

This place has really good food. You can get the amount of spice you want. Everything is so good 👍

Thai Carnation: The Restaurant I Tried to Keep a Secret

I’ve been eating at Thai Carnation for so long that I’m starting to think they might add me to the payroll. But I haven’t written a review until now because, honestly, I didn’t want to share my secret. Yes, it’s that good. Think of it like finding a treasure chest and then hiding it under your mattress.

Let me break it down: the pad thai is so delicious it’ll make you reconsider all the bad choices in your life. And the yellow curry? Let’s just say if I could bathe in it, I would. Every dish I’ve tried has been a 10/10 (though I probably need an intervention at this point). The food is consistently amazing, no matter how many times I show up here like a boomerang.

The staff? They’re not just friendly; they’re like the cool friends you wish you had in high school. They know my name, but that might be because I practically live here. You know you’ve eaten somewhere too often when the chef starts waving at you from the kitchen.

In conclusion, if you haven’t been to Thai Carnation yet, what are you doing with your life? Just be warned, once you go, you might never leave. (But seriously, don’t go too often—I still need to keep my regular table.)

Unassuming building with absolutely incredible food and service. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious. The best sticky mango rice I've ever had, made with red rice. This place is a gem.

The absolute best fried rice in town! I have tried all their different options of fried rice. Their pineapple fried rice combo with the chicken wings is my absolute favorite. Their food has so much flavor. Best place to get some fried rice and pad Thai.

I love eating here. The food is amazing. Definitely try the pumpkin curry if you want something authentic and different. It's a little spicy. Consider yourself warned. It never seems too busy and the dining area is very open with options for different sizes groups. Don't forget to get a Thai iced coffee. They're the best!

New to town and gave it a try. I got a chicken soba noodles to go. Server was very nice and restaurant was clean. The chicken tasted gamy which is not a flavor I will eat. I was glad the prices were reasonable for something I would throw away. The vegetable looked very fresh. It's at least worth trying once. The beef or pork might be better. Service was good.

Exceptional menu option selections, unique fusion dishes executed perfectly, the ingredients are fresh, prices are way lower than they should be, & the staff are incredibly informative & thoughtful. I can guarantee whenever I try a new dish here, it will not disappoint. The chef’s specials are well worth everyone’s time & consideration, & their classics dishes are definitively satisfying. The many menu options I’ve ordered are always cooked consistently well, & whenever I order the same dishes they fit my craving perfectly. This is a gem Gresham hardly deserves, & the only place I’d dare take my out of state family to this far from Portland. I’m obsessed with their pumpkin tempura, curries, & many fried rice options to pair with whatever else I’m craving!

I'm surprised at the high ratings. The restaurant is mid at best. The curry was good, the wonton soup flavorless and the pad thai tasted like the costco one from fridge section. The utensils had dried on food and were kind of dirty. Had to rewipe them just in case. The Thai place across the street by skyzone is sooo much better (and cheaper).

They have a robust menu and I haven't had a single bad thing here. If you haven't I would highly recommend giving this restaurant a try.

This was the absolute best Thai food I have ever had. My husband spent a couple years in Thailand and he said that this was VERY authentic. We had the Pad See Ew and the pork skewers with sticky rice. We liked this place so much that we went twice in a week. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Next time we are in the area, we will be back for sure!

Was out visiting Portland and I love food. My nephew suggested us going to this place for dinner. Nephew knew some of the workers here so we wanted to support the business.
Decor of the place is open space, pretty good amount of seating. Was not overly decorated, was later at night and didn't pay to be much attention to Decor in main ding area. They have a backroom for slot playing and a bar which was nice. We had the whole area to ourselves.Hennessey shots and Thai beer for drinks over the course of the night.
We had (2 orderd)shrimp rolls and a shrimp coconut for appetitizers. Both were very good. We had the Seafood Tom Yum soup that was very good and was served in a bowl that had a flame on bottom to keep it hot for awhile. We had some crispy chicken with rice. That was very good also. I encourage you to eat the food while it is hot straight out of kitchen. Best experience is hot food and enjoying the different flavors.
If you like slots, it's a good open place to play slots with a bar near by. Food drinks and gambling all at the same time.

Thai Carnation is my all-time favorite Thai restaurant, and one of my favorite restaurants overall! I love the salad rolls and the Thai Carnation Peanut Lovers. The crab puffs were a little disappointing for the price. I should've read it better, because it does state its 6 for $11... so that's my fault for missing that. But I feel like 6 puffs for over $10 a little high.

Regardless, I will absolutely order/eat here again!

I highly recommend the Green Curry with chicken. I've never had such well-prepared eggplant that was so flavorful.

Good stop over Thai place around Portland after visit to Multnomah. Went on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait. Most dishes have a vegetarian option. Our dietary restrictions and customizations were well respected. Service was a bit slow but taste was awesome. Lots of parking around.

Ordered take out. Very generous portions. The crab fried rice was excellent. The seafood Pad Thai was a disappointment as it was almost all calamari and one piece of shrimp with only a few scallops. The flavor was excellent but I felt swindled. The food was good enough that I will order from here again but I'll chose a different Pad Thai.

On of our favorite Thai food restaurants when we're in the area. The food is consistently on point, and very reasonably priced as well. The service is courteous and the cook is pretty quick with the wok. The portions are healthy too, I'm of good appetite and I've never left hungry yet.

Perfect service and a purely delightful dinner. The jasmine tea was floral and perfectly brewed. The orange chicken was the best ever.

I tried Thai Carnation for the first time today, and my experience was absolutely stellar!

Food-wise I got pot stickers (they do they crunchy style - and its delicious!) I also ordered pad see ew. The veggies in my pad see ew were crunchy, and there was a nice balance between veggies, protein, and noodles!
For those that enjoy spicy food: I ordered my noodles to be as spicy as they will make them off the menu. On this side of town they are the ones who stay truest to making it *actually* spicy! It was hot enough to give me some mouth tingles that lingered for a bit, but in a way that kept a lot of the flavor of the dish present. I'm particularly happy with how spicy they were able to make it!

Atmosphere: Just walking in you could already smell something tasty. Despite how small the building is with short ceilings and all, they designed it to feel very open. Staff are incredibly friendly and kind.

One of the better options in the area. Spendy. When you order online they don't honor your special requests in the notes. They also charge $2-5 for add on items like extra vegetables or meat, but never honor that either. So if you want a special order call it in.

My family and I stopped here to have lunch. We sat outside on the front patio. Even though they were closing in 20 minutes, they were happy to take our order and serve us. The food was great and portions large enough to take some home.
