The appetizer is also delicious. Actually, I was full because the plate is big, but I wanted to try my favorite green curry. Feel like Thailand!! Of all the Thai restaurants I've eaten at, whether in LA, NYC, or Boston, this is the best. Even the ordinary fried chicken is delicious. The price is good too. Thank you. Raan Thai has amazing food. We got their papaya salad, their veggie egg rolls, and corn fritters. The corn fritters were so incredibly unique and delicious. All the dipping sauces were fabulous. We also got their masamam curry and their pepper sautéed tofu. Their tofu is incredibly soft and you can adjust the spice levels in the food. We like to eat hot so we got a level 5. Amazing vegan choices and they have bubble tea. We got their unsweetened black bubble teas which were truly amazing! You absolutely have to try this place out!

I am so happy I decided to eat here on a whim! For a Friday night we were seated quickly and the place was hopping. The waitresses were very helpful and we received great service. I got the pineapple fried rice, spice level 3 and the papaya salad. My family got vegetable gyoza and ramen and every single thing was good—I liked my food the best though. We will be back, and are excited to see what the patio is like when it’s nice out!

This is my favorite Thai place in Cleveland. The crab rangoons are so crispy and the sauce is so sweet and tasty. My fav to order is the pad thai. Portions are quite large so I always have enough to save for the next day. I also love the Thai bubble tea and the coconut soup. Customer service is always excellent for dine in as well as to go. Been here more than a dozen times and never had a bad service 😍😍😍

Ordered tofu pad thai online and picked it up in store. The restaurant was super cute inside and very clean. Employees were all really friendly and I showed up early and my food was already ready. I got spice level 1 and it had a baby kick but nothing crazy. Probably one of the best pad Thais I've ever had, absolutely zero complaints - the textures, flavors, tofu, etc was all perfect!! And it was so reasonably priced (especially compared to other places). Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Been here several times and each time it is equally as wonderful. Everything we’ve tried is so good and fresh! Service is always impeccable too. Really can’t say enough good things, by far this is the BEST authentic Thai cuisine in the Cleveland area.

Raan Thai hands down has to be up there as one of the best Thai/Japanese cuisine restaurants in all of Cleveland. We have enjoyed many different items on their menu and every single one has been fantastic! Favorite is definitely the Yellow Curry but you really can't go wrong. Plus the staff is wonderful. Highly recommend!!

Amazing Thai food! Best on the west side!

This is the only Thai restaurant I have come across that offers dairy free options for bubble tea. I have not had a bubble tea in years and it was such a treat! They also have options to make sure your food is cooked gluten free as well. As someone with significant food allergies this is very much appreciated. Thank you for going out of your way to offer these options to customers! This restaurant also seems a bit more clean and orderly than some other comparable options in the area.

1. I came in to order some food to go, was asked for my phone number when plaing my order. So naturally I sat outside waiting for text message notification. But there's no text notification, and I didn't get my food until someone saw me from inside and waved to me, when the waiting time was obviously passed what I was told (~10min). So why asking customer's phone number?
2. Arrived at hotel only to find out no utensils at all. (When the guy stepped out and handed over your food at the door, you trusted they have utensils in it, right?)

I haven't even tried the food out when writing this review. When you drive extra miles for food that you expect to be good, it's these little things which can ruin the experience really.

The food was excellent and the place is very nice. The food is extremely flavorful with good complex flavors. We had the pepper garlic stir fry with beef, pad see ewe with pork, hot & sour chicken tom yum, the tai beef jerky, and strawberry tea. All were delicious. For the average Ohioan palate, you may want to order a 2 on the spice scale.

My favorite spot on Lorain Rd. The Thai Red Curry with Chicken is great! Haven’t had a bad dish out of all my visits.

Did a take out order.

Very friendly staff. Had the massaman curry with tofu and pad see ewe with veggies. Curry was very delicious and spice level was nice.

The kitchen did get our order wrong unfortunately and instead of pad see ewe we got chicken pad thai. I called and they said they would deliver the correct food which was nice but I asked for a refund instead and they did that.

Definitely would try again but maybe recommend dine in over pick up!!

Great Thai restaurant with a beautiful dining area. Their green papaya salad is hands down the best in the CLE area. It’s an amazing dish and many Thai places don’t offer it. Also their chicken pad Thai was incredible as well. Have never been disappointed with any of their dishes.

We were in Cleveland and wanted to try a new Thai restaurant, so we decided on Raan Thai.
The atmosphere is really nice and it is very clean. (I did not use the restroom so I can't comment on that.)
Our waitress was wonderful! Friendly, but not overly; explained details of the questions we had very well. Also, she was quite attentive without being intrusive. We both got the PadThai with shrimp lunch. We like spicy so we chose a level 3. It was perfect! The shrimp were cooked perfectly. Not over done or chewy, but just right. The portions were not overly huge but on the decently large size. My husband was full and I was stuffed.
Also, the prices were very reasonable!
Of course we had to try the Bubble tea! I ordered the black milk tea with light sweetener. I was pleasantly surprised that it to was just the way I like it. Boba pearls were chewie and plump. It was cold and refreshing.
I forgot to take a photo before I started eating but I did grab one before I finished.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Raan Thai!

This was our first time here and we probably won't be back. The ramen was tasteless, the tempura came out soggy and the beef jerky was so hard we couldn't eat it. No refills on tea which was just a cheap tea bag. So disappointing.

Very disappointing food experience. The quality of the seafood and the meat leave something to be desired. The black pepper garlic entrée was primarily vegetables. The seafood Clay pot consisted of three smelly and mealy muscles, two small shrimp and three very thin rings of calamari. For $19. We threw it in the garbage because the smell was so bad.
The corn cake appetizer was all batter and had no potatoes and a few pieces of sad looking corn.
We ordered all 4 of our entrées at a four or five heat level, and the 2 that we tried were still very blah tasting.
Not sure why this place gets great reviews. We will never go back.

Pretty disappointed! I was shocked because they have so many great reviews. The Chicken teriyaki dish was the worst ever. The chicken was overcooked, dry, no flavor, very little Teriyaki sauce. Beef w/veggies had "THIN SLICES" 😳 of beef that tasted horrible, bland... The sauce was watered down and it looked NOTHING like the picture. Don't waiste money on Crab Rangoon, it's all fried dough!

I walked in and ordered my entree. Polite cashier. I ordered Pad See Ewe to go. It was delicious and the best I've had here in Lorain- Cuyahoga county area 👍👍👍👍. Now I have a place to get my favorite Thai dish. 🤗

Four people at our table were very satisfied with our four different dishes and two desserts. We were asked to specify the spiciness of each dish on a scale of 2 through 5 (presumably 1 being "not spicy"). To me, 3 was much spicier than I expected. I suggest erring on the side of caution and ordering a less-spicy version - you can always get a container of a spice mix tableside. The only minor complaint was our waitress' heavy accent which made her slightly difficult to understand. But that is not unexpected in an ethnic restaurant. Her service was polite and quick. All in all, a pleasant experience.
(Our bill of $30+ per person included a glass of wine and beer).

Love they’re Thai tea and the food is good

I use to really love their food but it’s steadily going downhill. I had a bad experience dining in last time and I thought it was maybe just a one off but today I thought I would give them another go. Here is my cashew chicken which has about half an inch of oil in it. Really awful. It’s not like I can drain all this oil off at my office to eat it. Really really disappointed. Wish the owner chef was cooking here all the time his food was superb.

In response: It is oil clearly (and a lot of it) that is floating above the sauce. It is not the paste that you’re referring to.)

Delicious new Thai restaurant with good service and prices. We had soup (veggie tofu) and the papaya salad and stir fry’s (basil tofu). Very fresh and tasty but watch out - we ordered a 2 level of heat for our salad and I found it soooooo hot! The entrees were less intensely hot and seemed more balanced.

Amazing Thai food, satisfies the craving I've had since I moved here over 2 years ago. Let me put it this way, I drive from MENTOR to eat here, it's that good. Literally every dish I've had here has been on point, you can't go wrong.

Had the Duck Curry which was fantastic, but the dinner winner was the Bangkok Pepper Garlic. The amount of garlic flavour, I don't even know how they got it that amazingly garlic-y. Yumyay! Staff was friendly and attentive, can see why they're busy non-stop. Definitely going back, can't wait to try everything on the menu.

Wonderful little gem of a place. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was cozy but sophisticated and the staff was a delightful group, especially Nan. Had a great conversation about visiting Thailand and what are the 'must do's" when traveling there. You must save room for the fried bananas 🍌🍌with 🥥 coconut ice cream🍨. AMAZING....

Raan Thai is excellent. I cannot praise the quality of food that you can get here; it is some of the best (and spiciest - I order it at a 4 or 5 level) Pad Thai I've ever had. Even their chicken wings are better than most of the bars and restaurants in the area that boast about their wings. And the staff are some of the nicest, most attentive people. This is a must-go-to-place.

Everytime I eat here I'm blown away. My wife and I ordered the seafood fried rice one day when we didn't want to cook, and it exceeded all my expectations. I don't know anywhere else they have muscles, shrimp, scallops, and squid in the rice. We recently went in to try the ramen 🍜 on a chilly day and it was gourmet.

Last night my wife picked up the duck curry, and that's what inspired me to finally give Raan Thai the five star review. After one bite it's my new favorite. I'll honestly probably be getting it again before next week.

Great foods and great service

Lovely food. They offer spicy versions of most of their menu and is very tasty. Nothing in the Panang Curry was overcooked so everything tasted nice and fresh with an aromatic coconut milk.

Service and food were extraordinary, they make you feel like family here. Was not busy when we went and we were greeted and seated immediately. Aom, our server, was extremely king and prompt in taking our order and our food was delivered quickly after. Excited to return and try more of their menu!! The best Thai food I have had around!!!

I can only say this. If you are on your lunch hour and need to get back in one hour, don't come here. 30 people in the restaurant and one person on the floor. Your going to wait 20 minutes before they even get to your table. No hostess, no busser, no baretender. Deal with it.

Pretty good. Not much chicken at all in the stir fry dishes. They also cut it so thin and small it was overcooked by the time we got home to eat it. Vegetables were fresh. Wings were great. Chicken spring rolls probably the worst we've had anywhere. Dry and tasteless. Threw them out.

Delicious Thai food. Very tasty and excellent portion size.

Even with a critical eye, I couldn’t find gripes about this spot. I went double soup in the summer because I’m a soupaholic. The Thai coconut soup and the pork broth ramen were both delicious.

Service is amazing

My significant other surprised me in February for Valentine's Day with date night here. They were packed, but the decor and atmosphere were unique and welcoming. Service was slow, but the food was worth it. He ordered the Thai Wings and Thai Fried Rice with Chicken. I ordered Spring rolls and Massaman Curry with chicken and extra peanuts. The food was hot, flavorful and generous in portions. The Thai iced tea was delicately sweet. The staff were so nice and accommodating. I look forward to visiting again!

The food is amazing! The duck curry is crispy and flavorful. The best comfort food. The noodle broth is flavorful. Having been disappointed in a dish yet but it’s hard to not get the duck every time. Really can’t go wrong

Me and my partner have been coming since the opening of Raan Thai. We have brought out of town friends and family here for the best of the best Thai food ever. Everything is perfect, from the time you walk in the door till the time you leave. The ownership are amazing people, they treat you as if you are family. The staff, also very welcoming and super nice. Just a side note, they have the best pad Thai in any Thai restaurant we have been anywhere. And now serving Bubble Tea. Perfection!

Very authentic and tasty.

This place is beautiful on the inside. Our waitress was friendly and took great care of us. The menus were nice, 1 sheet double-sided, so you didn't spend an hour reading the entire menu. In addition to Thai food they also had a Japanese flavor section.

It takes a lot for me to give 5 stars - but this is why I am giving this restaurant this rating:

Clean: the restaurant was very clean & inviting. Bright colors, lots of light, and nothing looked dingy

Service: before we even went to Raan Thai, I called with a few questions & the employee was very nice & answered my questions. Upon arriving, we were greeted with a hello & didn’t have to wait but a minute to get seated. Each employee that served us during our visit was kind & attentive.

Food: we are vegan, so we can be hesitant to go outside of our normal places. Raan Thai had many vegan options for us. Our food was very tasty. We basically each got two meals out of our dishes. My husband got the Thai Spicy - I tasted just a few bites, it had really good flavors. I got the Thai Sweet Sour - it was really good & definitely wasn’t too sweet. I didn’t add any extra spice - but our sever asked if I wanted some an option to add spice as I see fit. She brought out this holder that had 4 options to add extra flavor. I don’t remember the spice options - but one was like a paste & had a little kick that I added a bit to my food.

Looking forward to going back & trying other entrees.

Overview:
This was my first time at Raan Thai and everything was absolutely delicious. The ambiance was great and I enjoyed that it was a more modern take on the classic Thai theme. Service was fantastic from both the host and our waitress.

Food/Drink:
Thai Iced Tea- Classic, cold, and very sweet, but I didn't mind.

Coconut Soup with Chicken- Also known at most Thai places as Tom kha kai the flavor was deep and it had the perfect ratio of sweet (from coconut milk) and lime (from lime leaves and juice,) it was the best rendition of the soup that I've ever had.

Corn Cake- Nice and crispy without tasting oily, it had a subtle sweetness and paired extremely well with the more acidic garlic cucumber sauce it was paired with.

Thai Wings-Nice and peppery, if you're adverse to pepper I would not recommend, but they were cooked very well and still juicy.

Vegetable Tempura- Cooked perfectly and included a variety of vegetables. I appreciate that it wasn't oily!

Masaman Curry- I'm going to be dreaming about this curry until I have it again. There's a depth of flavor and sweetness that I can't believe is humanly possible. The potatoes and carrots are a hearty addition and having it rice is by far the best way to eat it.

Cleanliness:
Everything was spotless including dishes, cuttlery, and the bathroom was very well taken care of. They also had a super cool sink and mirror, which added to the ambiance.

Accessibility:
There is a main sidewalk that is easily accessable to people in wheelchairs. There is also a little sidewalk that goes around a flower bed, that I do not think would be accessible to people in wheelchairs. There are no steps up to the restaurant that would require any sort of lift or ramp. There are plenty of seating options and the tables attached to booths move so if you're a larger-bodied individual you should be fine. There are also tables only with chairs. The bathroom was small, but would be manageable for somebody in a wheelchair.

I stopped by Raan Thai because I was looking for a highly rated Thai restaurant near the airport to grab a quick bite before I left town, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Tofu Pad Thai and was very impressed! The food came out very fast and the tofu had great texture. The food was also a good spiciness level for me (I ordered level 3). I will definitely come back if I'm ever in Cleveland again!
