Buzzy Pan-Asian eatery doles out Vietnamese & Thai specialties in a charming, snug setting.
At Pho and Rice the food is the star attraction. If you're fearful of trying new things, Pho and Rice isn't for you. But I found their Vietnamese cuisine to be very good and unique. The restaurant aesthetics could be better and there was some cultural clash. But overall, I give them a thumbs up and quoting Arnold Schwarzenegger, "I'll be back!"
Holy Moly! Third time here and this place is always on point. Everything is so delicious! Sandwiches too! Full and so happy! Great Thai bubble tea was the best I’ve had. 10/10!
I recently brought a party of 10 here for a birthday celebration. My daughter requested pho and so I obliged. The original consensus was to go to the more well-known and dependable Superior Pho, but I vetoed and decided that we should try our local Pho & Rice, which is a lot closer to home.
Seeing as we were a party of 10 and knowing that they only have a small dining room, I called ahead for courtesy to ask them if they could accommodate our party at 3pm on a Saturday. I figured this would be their least busy time. I was put on hold, then was told no as they do not take reservations. Was a bit put off by this as I at least would’ve expected them to respond with “I’m sorry, we do not take reservations, but as long as we’re not busy we will do our best to accommodate you when you arrive.” Their response was nothing of the sort.
I was a bit put off by this, but was resolved to try our luck anyway. We arrived at 3pm and there were only 2 diners there. So we put tables together for our party right in the middle of their dining room. I was pleasantly surprised by their budget-friendly pricing. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. I raised an eyebrow when they brought our pho in disposable plastic to-go bowls with plastic spoons, along with the bean sprouts, mint, and lime tied in a plastic bag. I looked at the other diners and saw that they had larger real bowls. I doubt that it was a matter of running out of dishes because we were the only ones there, so that was perplexing.
Overall, the pho was decent - especially for the price. Not a place that I would tell others is a must try, but decent enough to go back if you’re craving pho and it’s nearby.
Got a call as I was driving away to let me know they gave me the wrong roll. I was already driving away.
Sometimes things happen. I get home... they did not give basil, sprouts and jalapeños like I expect when ordering pho. I asked for tendon. They gave me tripe. Sone of the meat looked dark brown. The broth was not a good clear broth. The spring roll was a whole salad wrapped around a tiny shrimp and a few noodle. Like two noodles. It was awful. The chicken cabbage salad was ok. If there are other places in the area... I recommend you try them first.
The food and customer service was amazing!!!
Excellent food, great service and cozy environment!
Highly recommend the teriyaki tofu and spring rolls
When I say the best! It’s an understatement! This place is it!! Hands down!!
Great Flavor to this wonderful Pho.

Always excellent. Best Pad Se-Ew in Cleveland, especially if you order it with extra veggies. It’s my go-to comfort meal.
Always clean, food is consistent and delicious.
So good,so flavorful! First time eating pho and rice. I will be returning!
Great vegan stew and pho. Best pho spot around town. All pho dishes are yummy, have not tried their bubble tea. Their mango sticky rice keeps me returning. Might not be the best dine-in restaurant due to limited seating.
Wonderful restaurant with great vibes and delicious food!
Hot sour pho the best! It is still the best. But it is a bare bones operation. I miss the ceramic bowls and attention to detail. And I love that it is on Coventry - close to home.
Pho that can cure any cold better than any classic chicken noodle soup.
(The tapioca bubbles they put in the drinks are pretty mediocre, will skip next time.)
The servers were really polite and kind. The broth tastes amazing!! We got mother's day cookies from them for free :))
Some of my favorite pho in the entire city. Definitely one of Coventry's hidden gems.
Hot and sour soup is 🔥
Pho and Rice offers the option Pho in Cleveland! They offer endless options, to include vegan options. Be prepared to drink the broth! I recommend the P2, Veggie Pho, Shrimp or Mango Salad, Strawberry Smoothie, Thai Ice Tea and Thai Ice Coffee.
Fantastic food at reasonable prices!!!
Visit at least 6 times a month! Love the pho and banh mi. Food consistently great.
This place looks like a hole in the wall but don't let that fool you. Hands down best Pho I've had.
Everything I’ve ever ordered from this place has been delicious. Always good service and food.
Very rude, the lady did not talk to me at all. I asked questions about the food she just act as if she didn’t hear me ( I had to ask the young lady working there if the lady understood English, and she did.) when the lady came with my food the young lady told her that was my food, she walked past me and took my food to another customer who had just placed an order. Food is not worth the hassle 😩
The picture of the inside of restaurant online does not depict how the restaurant looks inside. The restaurant was filthy. If you look to the back past the register into the kitchen it is equally filthy. The presentation of my food did not look like it did online the vegetables were not fresh, and the mushrooms were canned. I will not be back.
Great little place with awesome food definitely worth checking out if you've never had Pho (Vietnamese soup)
Tables were all kind of sticky, my drunken noodles weren’t very flavorful until I got most of the way through them, then there was a little flavor at the bottom. They were served in a paper bowl, which was disintegrating a bit on the bottom. My wife’s pho was a lot yummier, but only had 4-5 small pieces of meat in it so she had to order extra meat. They were fast in bringing the food out
The food here is unbelievable
Yeah no! Ordered teriyaki chicken- the chicken was extremely bland literally boiled chicken chunks not even sliced dumped ontop of a sauce of some sort not 100% sure you can call it teriyaki sauce- I asked about spring rolls which most Asian restaurants fry so I just feel like the person over the phone should have maybe brought that to my attention so I could have maybe chosen their crispy rolls which are seemingly more like a spring roll you would get anywhere else- very disappointed a complete waste of $20 - especially with economy being what it is and every business having insane inflations- I’ll never order here again I only came bc tree country was closed

The restaurant aesthetics could be better and there was some cultural clash. But overall, I give them a thumbs up and quoting Arnold Schwarzenegger, "I'll be back!"
The Pho was spot on, the Gyoza were great on flavor and texture. The Thai iced tea was very delicious. Will stop back.
The best vegetarian broth I have tasted at one of these places and they give you plenty of noodles don't let the bowl size fool you. I think other places use Gigantic bowl to make it seem better. This is the real deal and as the sign says "made with love"
First and last time customer. Ordered drunken noodles with chicken tonight 5/10, delivered by Uber Eats. The noodles were way overcooked, looked like mush or crushed rice. Underneath were clumps of noodles. I can't believe they didn't make new noodles, it would take but a few minutes.
Person on phone got order wrong, no parking, banh mi was not as described online, food was cold scallion pancake was good
Fresh, delicious, authentic food! I took my senior mom - we had a few special requests and they were very accommodating. If my mom was happy, you know it’s good!
Amaz
Food was good but service and seating was disorganized
Unfortunately, this is the first and only time I will be order from this restaurant. I had heard good to great things about the place from friends. The order itself was ready promptly. However, the rest was highly disappointing and concerning. Initially, in the 14 minute drive home, I realized quickly the containers had opened when I smelled something (that was less than appetizing). When I looked at the bag, I saw that the container with the pho was cracked - hence the complete spillage in my car. However, as I looked at the rest of my order, I was horrified to see that the edamame were completely moldy/blackened. Finally, the large container of broth had seeped into the paper containers. I was completely taken aback but was originally planning to ask for a refund of the edamame and pho only. However, after some challenging discussions with the staff and my concerns with the food itself (safety), I decided to dispose of the entire meal.
I truly hope this was an anomaly given the reviews online & recommendations from individuals I trust.
Good prices, quick service, and tasty. In addition to pho, I got the scallion pancakes. They were amazing, but some found them a little greasy.
Food was delicious and really good will come again
Hole in the wall. Thai people trying to cook Vietnamese pho = not good. Pretty much self-service. Order at the counter and they will bring food to the table. But you have to get your own water, utensils etc. Then you also have to clean up after yourself. Spring rolls are a joke.
All the utensils, bowls and cups are flimsy plastic. They do have wooden chopsticks.
Would avoid this place if you want authentic Vietnamese food. They also serve Thai and Japanese food. I would wager they are not good at cooking Japanese food either.
I have been going here for years. I am a firm believer that they have the best pho in Cleveland! Yes, I have tried the other places and even new ones when they pop up, Pho and Rice wins every time!
Weird experience. I feel like they thought I was trying to walk out without paying when I only went to the bathroom. And I kept getting weird looks even after I came out the bathroom and they was talking about me in their language and it was clear they were. And I never said I was even done with my food before someone threw it out. I would’ve appreciated if someone just asked me first before proceeding to do that. Regardless if it was food on my plate or not. The food was a 7/10 but the experience was a 3 overall. Which ruined everything for me. I honestly wouldn’t go again just because of how uncomfortable it was for me. Best wishes though.
Super yummy pho! One of my favorite spots on Coventry.
Very good food, self service dining. Great spot to stop in Coventry area for inexpensive and filling meal. Carry out options better.
This place has the best gra pow (chicken and basil) in Cleveland. I recommend getting it with ground chicken and spicy as they would normally make it. Don’t let the name fool you - the owners are thai. As someone who loves thai food I can’t believe it took me so long to try their gra pow.
Not the best Pho you will have, a bit bland but tastey and fresh and reasonably priced. Very fast and convenient, takes 15 min from your phone call. I think the pho would be much better while dining in because the noodles will be very fresh.
Been wanted to come here for a while and finally made it down. The Pho is great and the bubble tea is the best I've had, a lot of flavor and not watered down like other places. I will definitely be going back
Love the pho and the entrées and appetizers, but whoever answers the phones tells the person to wait for 20 mins and then when you try and call beck you can’t get though bc the phone line is busy bc they haven’t hung up the phone, they can lose a lot of business this way especially for regulars that come here.
Food is horrible crab Rangoon wing they couldn't even get the pho right...if you're looking for really great pho and fresh rolls Pho One is the place or superior pho is also good
July 2022: Stopped during the Conventry Festival. Had not had a good Pad Thai in a while and I figured to get the closest and best Pad Thai (with chicken) in the area.
Pros:
* Clean restaurant with public restrooms for customers.
* Good food. I don't even know if the chef speaks English, but she sure can cook. I heard some Vietnamese and Thai being spoken in the kitchen area. IDK, but I felt like I was getting some real deal authentic Thai food.
* Cash and major credit cards are accepted. Not sure if they have Applepay.
*Friendly staff.
Cons:
* None
Conclusion: I will return to try the pho. It may be a good place to bring my fiancée, who is also a good Vietnamese chef.
I've had better but all in all good experience.
Love the pad thai!
As a Vietnamese, I can't say their food is authentic, but it's decent. It seems they have Thai chef. Too much noodle and not enough meat. Price is not cheap too. It's just ok. A solid 3 out of 5.
Had the Pho, which was delicious and well portioned
Delicious
Crab Rangoon was the best crab Rangoon We’ve ever had. The curry was decent, there was no spiciness to it at all but still tasted good. My husband got the drunken noodles and enjoyed it!
Pretty good, food. The place and atmosphere was nice and inviting. We felt the food was good but not our favorite.
The shrimp pho is my go to and so delicious!
I love the food here, plenty of vegetarian options
Super fresh and tasty!
Best vegan pho I’ve had 👌👌👌
This place is really going down hill. So sick of these restaurants cutting corners with plastic silverware and smaller portions and still charging the same $. Hours are all mixed up. Keep it up and I'm out!
Always amazing. Staff is welcoming, and the food is so good. My biggest problem is choosing
The sprouts were gross and brown almost no basil I would say this is the worst Pho I have had in cleveland.
Not sure what happened to the business (I'm sure COVID has shifted some priorities for finances sake), but this was like a different restaurant from my past regular visits.
I dined in and ordered a P1 today (everything pho), and it was served in a small plastic bowl that was so small, there was almost no broth (just noodles and ingredients packed in, so if you lift the noodles, you see there is little broth underneath). I used to come in regularly during my lunch break, and the lunch portions used to be bigger than what they were serving for dinner today. If they had bought those cheap disposable bowls for COVID reasons, I understand, but please, for the future of your store, invest in some bigger bowls because Pho is not just about noodles and meat, it is all about the broth. The current bowl wasn't big enough. I could barely pack in the beansprouts in that small bowl, when it should naturally just submerge under. (I almost wonder if Pho and Rice might offer more broth if you do take out, putting a full soups worth of broth in those cylinder Tupperware).
Still, there was almost no flavor in what little broth was there. I usually don't expect Pho and Rice to wow me with their Pho, but it used to always be a dependable pho spot in the Heights on a cold day, where the broth was still decently flavorful (and will fills you up!). I used to come because it's closer to the Eastside than having to trek to Asiatown or downtown for places like Pho Thang, Pho Lee, or Superior Pho.
Unless things improve, I may skip Pho and Rice all together, even though it is nearer on the Eastside.
We ordered pho dac biet, and pho Tai , both with added meatballs, and 2 bahn mi sandwiches. Pho was great, but our sandwiches took a while to come out, so my husband was almost done with his soup by the time we got them. Although, they were hot and on really good bread so we couldn't complain too much. This is a consistent place to enjoy a good bowl of pho.
Excellent pho. Great taste and portion size
Pre Op at Cleveland clinic , He was feeling a hearty bone broth soup would be nutritious and filling. We're in Cleveland for the week tasting alot of the local food. Looking for noodle house or Pho? Don't overlook this small store front for a great take out meal. We ordered the crispy rolls. Crispy and very flavorful - just like we are used too. My date had the Pho Thai, he quickly assembled the noodles and sprouts etc into the hot broth. He said the beef was very tender and the broth was really good . I got the Pad Thai , serving was generous with plenty of chicken and scallion and peanuts. Delicious!
Very savory food!!
Excellent food and service. KC and Ramona were the bomb, they deserve raises!!
This place has delicious pho!! I usually get the tripe pho and it is very good, and extremely flavorful. They give lots of cilantro and siracha and another sauce to put in the soup to make it as flavorful as you want
The best vegetarian/vegan drunken noodles ever!! My go-to for my comfort dish.
so good!! I have never had a bad experience here, all of the staff is extraordinarily friendly and the food is perfectly cooked :) delicious
The food was amazing and delicious, I'll definitely be getting food from them again!
My boyfriend and I tried this place and it was wonderful! Everything I tried there was fantastic it's now my new favorite!
Still only takeout? It's like half the Pho to go. Maybe that's the idea.
They have gluten free, vegan options here. My wife loves it.
LOVE the food
The food was so fresh and tasty that I will definitely go back and tip them. The gals back there are great cooks and it shows in the dish.
Placed a order through door dash for beef and shrimp pho it was DELICIOUS! I put a note to add shrimp and charge my card, I called to make sure the note was read and it appeared they missed it. The lady who answered was so sweet and made sure the order was correct. The portions were a bit small of the beans sprots and basil but the super tender beef and shrimp made up for it. Best pho I have had, cant wait to order again!!!
The food is amazing!! I've had their curry noodles, grilled lemongrass chicken, hot & sour pho and fresh roll. They all were delicious. Each time I've ordered from here, I've been extremely satisfied with the quality, quantity and flavor. I highly recommend it!
Good food,kind of pricey
Got the Drunkin Noodles, probably some of the best I’ve had. Thick noodles, well cooked veggies that blended in well, spicy sauce. Can’t wait to go back and try some other stuff
Fantastic delivery experience of pho! They go the extra step to make sure orders are packed up well. It was much appreciated when I took my order home and everything was still steaming
Food is always amazing and so fast
Excellent food. Great prices.
I ordered from this place on doordash and it was overall NOT a good experience. First the good things were the food tasted good, the broth for the noodle soup was good. However I have serious questions on how they decided to pack the rice noodles for the noodle soup in a sandwich bag type of plastic bag. Is it even safe to pack the hot noodles in a plastic bag?! The noodle was like a bar of soap, like a brick. I let it sit in the soup hoping it'd help loosen the noodles. It really did not work. I used my chopsticks and a lot of patience to loosen the noodles to the best of my ability. There were still some chucks of noodles as you can see in the pictures. Also the noodles I was able to loosen were mostly broken little pieces even though I took time to slowly, gently loosen the noodles. I will never order any noodle soup to go from this place as they do not know how to probably pack for to go. Also I ordered a Thai tea bubble tea and it came in a dome lid even though the drink wasn't a frozen drink. I was shocked to see the nickel size hole on the lid was not sealed/covered in any way when now every restaurants are putting in effort to ensure their foods are probably sealed. They also did not give me a bubble tea straw (bigger than normal straw for the tapioca pearls). The sauces for the apps were in tiny sauce containers which made dipping difficult.
Response to the restaurant's comment:
I guess it's okay for you to stand by your choice of how you pack the noodles and defend yourself just like I have a choice to not give you my business. I have ordered pho to go from another restaurant and they packed their noodles with the sliced onions and herbs in a styrofoam bowl container and guess what? The foam did not melt and the noodles weren't stuck together like a brick.
Love this place. Best Phô in the Eastern suburbs, and very tasty Vietnamese/Thai dishes. Love their Drunken Noodles and the Pad Thai. Amazing value for money
Lovely neighborhood joint. We always get the shrimp pho with vegan broth. The vegan broth is gluten free. My daughter also always orders the crispy rolls. They have super cute masks for $3 these days.
Delicious, fast, great prices!!! Excellent
This small restaurant is the best Vietnamese restaurant in town. Their banh mi are the best in town. Everything is good here. Their Pho is outstanding
i finally got takeout from here and i could not be happier with my meal! i got the tofu triangles and the pork noodle soup. the tofu is cooked to perfection and the thai-peanut sauce for it is impeccable! the soup is bursting with flavor and the pork is AMAZING! i will definitely be coming back here the next time i want a home-y, flavorful dish. (also a plus: the employees were so friendly!!)
It is VERY yummy! Most bubble tea I don’t like but here is AMAZING. The pho is soooo good. You wouldn’t expect it to be that good when you first see it but then you try it and your so happy that you went there. They have big portions and if you don’t finish it still tastes great the next day. The shop is clean and nicely decorated they wait isn’t too long so next time your by Coventry and want something yummy to eat then stop by Pho and Rice.
My pho came with a huge hair floating... they didn't apologize, and were really rude to me when I ordered something else. Not to mention the service was very slow. Stay away!
Very very happy with my meal and service awesome thank you
Good food and friendly staff!
Very taste and a good quality
Delicious pho and very reasonable prices. Good seating available
Very authentic Pho!Fair price with good quality food. One of my fav restaurant to go.
First time having Vietnamese....love it!
🍜👍🏼
We love this place! Best local Pho around and it’s our go to in the winter for soup plus we love the dumplings too.
They kinda forgot our orders existed, but the food was good and I saw others getting their food quickly, so it was probably just an accident
Super delicious pho. Great service.
Cozy space. Reasonable prices.
Amazing! I love Pho. Best Pho on the eastside!
Items in pho section are by far the best on the menu. P2 (standard beef pho) is very very good, although the tofu option is better. Bubble teas are also good. Inside atmosphere is busy but clean and stylish.
A small place with rustic decor, but you don't come here for the ambiance or the service. Food is super fresh and delicious especially the pho! Prices are reasonable.
Great food, fast friendly service, and reasonably priced. Will definitely recommend and be back
Something different for a nice price
I got the Curry noodles and they were so tasty. Staff was very nice and the atmosphere is great.
Went for lunch...was excellent. So fresh tasty. The mango bubble tea QA awesome too.
Favorite
Terrible service💩 and it seems to amuse them, but great food though
