Homey spot for traditional Thai cooking & Vietnamese soups plus options for restricted diets.
The fried rice was a little too wet for my liking. The sauce that was poured over it made everything taste like the sauce. I couldn't even taste the jasmine rice. Be warned also that the restaurant is really tiny inside and during cold days you will need to dress warmly. Overall good food, but will probably eat at other Thai restaurants. No need to come back here.
If you're looking for genuine Asian cuisine flavors and dishes, this is the perfect spot. I'm always looking for non-American food places that are authentic and this is one of them.
This restaurant is quite small, a converted house it seems, with inviting decor and a comfy outdoor seating space. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is loaded with unique flavor and balances solids with sauces well.
I had the cinnamon pork which turned out better than I had hoped for. The pork was extremely tender and flavorful. It came with a sauce that was just sweet enough and when dipping the pork in it, made a balanced blend of rich meat and sweet sauce that went perfect together. A side of simple, plain, perfectly cooked white rice serves as the critical palette cleanser and meal equalizer (in terms of flavor and texture).
The menu has plenty to choose from, I wouldn't be hesitant to order anything from here from now on considering how my meal went.
My only small gripes would be the pricing of the food is $2 or $3 more than I'd like to see (but what isn't nowadays?) and I'd like a little more attentiveness from the staff during my meal. I still highly recommend Pad Thai Asheville and these small inconveniences are well worth the prices for the stand out meal.
What a wonderful and cute restaurant, where the atmosphere is sweet and the staff is very understanding and friendly. The spring roll was good, the fried chicken and grilled chicken on the stirfry dishes were excellent and full of flavor, tender and cook to perfection. The stirfry needed to have the vegetables cooked longer because they were very hard so the staff was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch.
Garlic shrimp was good not too spicy. Red curry pineapple with duck. Medium heat was excellent. Ginger lemonade was excellent. Friendly service. Quick with the food and was hot. Sat on the porch but traffic was tolerable so didn’t bother us. Place stayed busy while we were. Glad we picked this for our one night in town. Only issue is the small parking lot in front but overflow available at salon next door I was told.
Overall, I had a pleasant experience at this Thai restaurant. The ambiance was charming, and the service was attentive. However, I found the food to be average in taste, and the portion sizes were smaller than expected considering the price. If you’re looking for a nice atmosphere and great service, this place delivers, but be prepared for the portion-to-price ratio. I had the pad Thai and it’s average as I have had better pad Thai.
Always a great choice
Some of the best Thai food I've ever had. I love the eggplant in the green curry!
absolute best thai food around asheville. my favorite place to go in the candler area, too. the food options are always delicious, i love the chef specials, overall a very welcoming place.
The beef salad was amazing, we got our food within 10 minutes, and had wonderful service!

Tea options are available. Small dinning room but nice service. Have a terrace table option. Delicious spring rolls.
Very tasty food! And convenient area.
Super nice staff food was really good
Wonderful green curry! Tofu cooked perfectly. I highly recommend Pad Thai Asheville!
Food and service was great!
The food here is amazing. The staff is too!

Excellent Thai place with a wide variety of options and attentive service.
Simply wow! It has been an amazing experience (food, service and the place itself). We have been to Thailand many times and this is simply the best Thai restaurant we have found in the US so far! Please keep up the great work, we will come back being in Asheville next time!
Pequeño lugar, hay mesas afuera también. Los spring rolls son muy buenos. Me gusto el Tai Pai de res. Buena comida a buen precio.
I love this place!!
!
Good Pad Thai takeaway, I'd go there again. 👍🏽
Food was delicious and served piping hot, and the staff was attentive and very friendly. Drawback was an outside door, that doesn't appear to be used regularly, right beside our table had freezing cold air blowing in which couldn't be stopped and made the experience less than.
The food was great the service is amazing!!!!
Tiny restaurant but so delicious.
Literally the best Thai food in town!!
I hope this place remains a hidden gem in Asheville, but it is, in my opinion, the best Thai food in all of WNC! Tiny little place with very big flavor! Definitely try the cinnamon pork to nourish your body and soul!
This restaurant gave us one small packet of the sauce instead of the little cups they have always served with take out. It is not enough to season the dish. My pho was like eating plain noodle soup. Won't order here again
Amazing food ! And friendly smiles ! Love it:)
I never give five star glowing reviews. This restaurant is by far and away the best Thai food anywhere near here. Go eat there now. You will be very glad that you did. Then you will go back.
Yummy food and amazing customer service! So kind
Very good Thai food. Friendly service.
Pad Thai is my favorite Thai restaurant on the east coast. I have dined here for the past 7 years, and I every time the experience with the food, service, and atmosphere is absolutely amazing. When I’m feeling happy, sad, or want to bring out of town guests to my favorite restaurant I chose Pad Thai every time. Their cooking is comfort for my soul, I can always depend on their consistency within their operation. They always have clean restaurant and great quality ingredients. Thanks Pad Thai for all the amazing memories and meals over the years
Love this place.food is AMAZING 🤩
Absolutely LOVED the food! Perfect level of spicy, great balance of ingredients, and was suuper fast! Staff were super friendly. The artwork inside is unique in the best way possible. 1000% will go there again next time I'm in town!
I loved this cozy place 🌸. The food was really good and the service...amazing. 💯 recommend.
Best Thai food on the west side of Asheville! Great prices too.
Best papaya salad I’ve ever had !!! Everything actually tastes incredible . Easily the best Thai in town !
We ordered the fried dumplings, green curry, beef Korean bbq and the steak fried rice. We enjoyed every bit of it! We only got water to drink so it was about 20dlls per person.
Best Thai in town.
Fantastic food! Great lunch spot with lunch deals
No volvería.
First of all, the service was super friendly. The waiter and waitress were all smiles and interested in whether I was enjoying the meal. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the penang curry with chicken and extra vegetables. The food came quickly, but while I was expecting a large plate overflowing with vegetables due to the extra &$3 charge, the plate came minimally loaded. The chicken was tough, dry and chewy. They never asked what spice level I wanted, so the condiment tray was necessary. Super disappointed given all the positive reviews. Would not return.
Don’t get the moonshine noodles or any vermicelli noodle dish for that matter. They don’t add egg or half the veggies that are listed on the menu. They refunded me at least…
Best Thai in town!
Great Food, Friendly Staff, Cool Atmosphere, and if you like spicy they are the place to go!
Amazing amazing amazing!!! Delicious food and the sweetest staff. Flavors comparable to when we visited Thailand earlier this year. You have to try the Khao Soi! Can’t believe it was only our first time. Will be back soon.
The food was good, I just wished for the price I would have had more duck in my meal.
Great spot for some classic pad thai. I met a friend for lunch. The service was prompt and the food came out quickly.
The chicken panang curry and steamed chicken dumplings were absolutely delicious!
Best Pad Thai in Asheville, without a doubt.
Had Tom Yum soup, excellent. As was the Moonshine Noodle. Word of advice, good mild on spice level. Which was just right for me, who enjoys spicy food. Keep that in mind. Had 2 beeras, Chang lager, also.very good. Very reasonable anperfect portions..
Delicious food
Came for lunch. Was expecting more flavor. The red curry and vegetable stir fry were lacking.
Place is a total banger! Instant service
No pictures. We were too busy enjoying the delicious food. The seafood salad was outstanding. We'll be back soon. Very soon.
The food was excellent!! We are traveling 8 hours and decided to stop for food and we loved how flavourful the food was and had a great experience!! I would say that there pad thai fried rice with grilled chicken was perfect!
Best Thai food near Asheville, very fresh - atmosphere is great - staff is 10 out of 10
Probably some of the best Thai food I have had in a very long time. The Panang Curry with beef was spectacular - very creamy and savory. My girlfriend got the Chicken Pho which was very flavorful and delicious. For dessert we tried the mango sticky rice, which was truly delectable and I highly recommend. We happened to find this place while looking for new places to eat, this is a definite must try if you are visiting the area or are moving here!
This place was phenomenal! Amazing food, atmosphere, and service. One of the best Thai places I’ve ever tried. The pho is delicious!
Be aware, food is on the sweeter side and service could be improved. 2 persons serving more than 40 people resulting in slow and in adequate service!
Such a nice change of pace from fast food. Foot prep is pretty quick.
Best Thai food I have had since moving to the south!
Excellent food, great service
Best Thai in Asheville, and I don't say that lightly. Huge Thai cuisine aficionado here. In our four years here, we had tried every Thai restaurant within 40 miles of Asheville. Best rating we could give any of those places was 6 out of 10, and most struggled to hit 5. We finally made it to Pad Thai and sampled Won Ton soup, Pad Thai, Yellow Curry and Chicken Sate. All authentic, delicate, and tasty - near perfection. Great service. Eat inside or out. Food came out really quickly. This restaurant rates somewhere between 8 and 9 on a ten point scale. Far above the local competition. Do yourself a favor and dine here.
Now that we found it, we're annoyed at ourselves that it was the last local Thai restaurant we sampled. Doh! We could have been eating here for the last 4 years. We'll be regulars from now on, even though it's a 40 minute drive from our home.
The food was delicious and the portions generous. We had Panang Curry and Mussaman Curry. Both dishes were complex and nuanced.
We also had the best calamari I've had in years: hockey puck diameter rings of squid perfectly fried in a delicate, golden batter.
Highly recommended.
The food was absolutely AMAZING!!!!
The best Tai restaurant in the US? I've had Tai from Florida to New York City to Chicago to Minneapolis. My first bite at Pad Tai Asheville and I said "Wow!" It's really that good. My party of four all agreed it is possibly the best Tai food we've ever eaten.
This was our first time eating here, and we were pleasantly surprised!! Our food was excellent, and hot(heat hot), and not too spicy. I had the Fried Rice Combo. The Spring Rolls came out fast and were very good. I also had the Thai Iced Tea(first time) that was also very good. If there was anything negative about the place (and it wasn't too big of a deal) it was the minimal parking. Other than that it was a great experience.
Delicious Thai food, a comfy restaurant
Amazing Thai food. Both my kids were born in Thailand and we are very familiar with authentic Thai food. This is the best we've had in the United States! Thanks again!
I’ve had a lot of Thai, and this is an absolute gem. Stellar, authentic, flavorful. I will be back! Five stars.
Some of the best Thai food I've ever had!
Rice - fluffy and tasty
Soup - delicious
Chicken - great
Ginger tea - 11/10
Love this place it's my new favorite
This is our favorite restaurant in Asheville and we stop by every time we’re in town! Our food has always been consistently delicious, and we love supporting local small businesses too. My husband is from Sydney where there are a ton of authentic Thai places, and he says this is the best Thai he’s found in the US! Also I appreciate how when I say zero hot, they really give me zero hot, not like “surely you meant three shakes of red pepper” - they truly customize your order exactly how you ask!
My favorite spot for Thai in town! To go or in house!!
Outstanding Tom Yum and a large variety of Thai dishes not found in other area restaurants. This place is something special.
I’ve had a lot of Thai food and this is the best!!
This little place is by far the best and most authentic Thai food you will find in Asheville. The owners are from Bangkok and have created the menu straight from home, so when they say spicy, they mean it!
My friend tried the Drunken Noodle and said it was one of the best he'd ever had, and I had the red curry duck, which was one of the finest meals I've had anywhere. We shared the appetizer platter, which was well portioned and offered a taste of several different appetizers. The spring rolls are an absolute delight, and the satay chicken... I could eat nothing but that dipped in the 3 sauces it comes with
Something for everyone, reasonably priced, nice portions, home-y atmosphere. Not a bad choice on the menu.
Pad Thai is delicious! Got the spring rolls and the chicken pad Thai get it extra spicy (might make you cry) the service was great as well 👍🏽
My wife and I will be going back frequently. The food was so authentic and flavorful. The spice level three was perfectly balanced. 10 out of 10 .
Great people and great food!
It was our first time trying Thai food and we loved it! I can’t believe I have lived in Asheville my whole life and just now heard of this place. We tried 3 random dishes from the Thai street food section and loved all of them. We can’t wait to come back and try more options!
Dining area is small but cute and the staff are so friendly! VERY fast service and the food was delicious! Definitely recommend!
This is the real deal, authentic and delicious
Pad Thai is one of my favorite restaurants, I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of the curries, noodle dishes, or signature entrees (especially the cashew chicken). But today I tried the Holy Hainan Chicken off their new thai street food menu.
For starters I had the fried potstickers which were mixed vegetable. Super tasty and you can actually identify all of the vegetables in it, and the dipping sauce was delicious. I believe most of the appetizers and all the sauces are made in house.
The Holy Hainan Chicken was a 10 out of 10 for me. The chicken was SO crispy and delicious. It comes with some surprisingly flavorful rice made with ginger, red onion, and garlic. The dish also came with a clear soup that was reminded me of wonton soup but with warmer flavors, but it was refreshing and a great palette cleanser. The star of the dish though was honestly the sauces, which included: sweet & sour, a soybean sauce, and a spicy chili/garlic sauce. It was really enjoyable to mix and match the sauces and constantly have different bites but the brown soybean sauce was by far the best.
Service was also great and prompt, and it's always nice to sit out on the covered patio. Highly recommend!
I have been going to the restaurant for years. However, I’m done with this place. The more people in your party at the table the less food you get. The last two times I’ve gone I’ve spent more money than I ever have and left both times hungry.
Very very delicious!!
Great place for lunch. Food is super fresh and I love the way they do their tofu.
Food was OK, I've never had Thai food before so it felt a little bland. A lot of the menu items where not labeled with a price so 4 dishes came out to 70+$. Then I was chased out of the restaurant by a server asking for a tip.
I recently experienced their pad Thai, and it was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece that ignited a symphony of flavors on my palate! The noodles were meticulously intertwined, as if each strand held a secret dance with the sauce. Ah, the sauce—so complex yet harmonious, like a passionate love affair between sweet, sour, and spicy notes. With every bite, I felt like I was on a gastronomic journey through the valleys of taste and the peaks of satisfaction. If this pad Thai were a Shakespearean play, it would be a tragedy for my cravings because they'll never find such perfection elsewhere! Our server Nos was excellent as well.
Overpriced for food NOT cooked to order
INCREDIBLE AND AUTHENTIC!!!
Last Thai food I had was in Hawaii and it tastes the same or better, go here with all your family and friends it is an amazing atmosphere and the staff is so friendly!
So hard to find good veggie pho but they consistently deliver. I’m yet to have food from here that disappoints!
Love this place! The veggie tofu pho is absolutely delicious, the broth is fantastic 🙏🏻🍜
Was very disappointed the food looked good but it was cold and not crispy at all. Got the fried squid and fried pot stickers. I had the Mussasun Curry. My wife had The Seafood Salad. For all the five stars I expected more won’t be going back
My wife got tofu pho and she enjoyed it. Tofu was not fried which she normally likes.
I thoroughly enjoyed the pineapple curry with fried chicken.
Cozy restaurant with pretty great food!
This place is phenomenal! Had the best chicken pad Thai I've ever tasted. Very authentic. AND this place is celiac-friendly ... several gluten-free options and the staff were knowledgable of menu items and sauces that contained gluten so we didn't get sick. Already planning my next visit!
Some of the best Thai food I've had, and the service cannot be beat. Huge portions for a great price. Will definitely go back if ever in the area again.
Delicious food and friendly staff!
We loved this place. Staff is super nice kind and does their business in best possible way. Our food was too good as well.
Though, we asked for Level 4 in spice level but it was too hot to handle. But still we give full marks to the taste and preparation of dishes.
The best Pad Thai I have ever had and I have had plenty. The food is very authentic which I love. Their purple rice was delicious. It reminds me of my mother’s. I would def come back here when in town again.
The restaurant is super small about 6 tables in there.
Me and my friend order one meal from the menu.
Seafood salad 5/10 : the sauce was amazing but the their was only three type of seafood on the plate not a great portion for the price.
DUCK BASIL 2/10: the duck was over cook just by a tab, very dry and I only got three small piece and one big leg. I try not to laugh because I’m like is this a joke. lol. It’s home food comfort not a high class restaurant. The price for such a small portion $25 is sad.
The Tom kha soup and pad Thai are delicious, will definitely visit next time I'm in Asheville.
Loved the food and the atmosphere
This has to be one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever been to. Loved everything about it -- delicious food, great service, comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend the Massaman curry.
Perhaps it was an off night, but my recent experience was not good. I arrived at ~8:20 and was scolded by the hostess that they are closing soon. No greeting.
Look, I get it if it was 10-15 mins before closing (nobody likes that); but it was over 30 mins before closing. If that’s a problem then adjust your hours. When I offered to dine elsewhere she insisted it’s fine.
The food was good, as usual. But by 8:40 employees were dragging mops, moving chairs and pacing around. It was clear I was no longer welcome. FWIW I’ve worked mult jobs in the service industry and never rushed customers away. It’s a shameful way to behave towards your customers, making them rush through their meal and feel unwelcome. There’s several excellent Thai restaurants around here, so I won’t return to this place.
Delicious food, very nice atmosphere and staff are always so friendly and kind. They also can make your food vegan!
Love the curry dishes and the peanut sauce for salads)
Such a great place!
This restaurant was amazing! The food was great & the owners are so very friendly! Thank you for a great experience!! Will be back soon!
Great lunch specials and the staff was extremely friendly!
Some of the best Thai food in Asheville! We typically get pad Thai, panang curry, and drunken noodles and all of it is consistently great. Would highly recommend for takeout. The restaurant is small so can sometimes be tricky to get a seat. Would definitely recommend as a Thai food lover!
Tiny place..the satay chicken no stick is good.
The basil fried rice is good too. Don't like the basil pork...( It's not minced pork)
This Little random Thai place was not at all what I expected! The food was fabulous!!! .... cozy little setting, but they will soon need a bigger spot because they are great!
This Tai restaurant is LEGIT!! Excellent food, service & atmosphere. I highly recommend!!👍🏼👍🏼
If you like Thai food, you will absolutely love this place!!!
It’s a small, quaint authentic place with great service and super clean.
We were a group of four, and every single one of us were amazed at how good the food was.
I had the northern curry dish, substituted the chicken for seafood, and it was one of the best Thai dishes I’ve ever had.
The gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming and accommodating. Did a fantastic job serving us. I had the sweet and sour crispy chicken with spring rolls, everything was cooked and flavored perfectly!
Food was just weird. Super weird.
Really awesome atmosphere, I almost enjoyed the atmosphere more than the food. We had Nes as a server and the man loved his job, he was practically singing his words. There was this little mario noise when an online order came through. All very pleasant and welcoming. I got a beef everything pho and it was definitely homemade and exceptional as well.
