Cozy Thai restaurant with a large menu of traditional & vegetarian dishes, plus a lunch buffet.
First time here and definitely will come back for more. The food is so delicious. Good quality and tasty, good price. Staffs are so friendly and they do good service. The vibe is so nice Thai decoration. We was there for a Friday date night. Kinda busy hours but we was so impressed for our first time experience there. I recommend this restaurant!!
Great Atmosphere, Excellent food! The drinks are good too ! The owners are so kind and take pride in what they do! They want to make their customers feel welcomed.
Best Thai in Westchester, hands down. We've been back twice in the same week after discovering Swaddee, our new go-to dinner before/after a movie at Jacob Burns. The food is incredible, the service is great, and the restaurant vibe/ambiance is cozy, warm, and perfect. Try the papaya salad – YUM!
This is a great spot for Thai food. We especially like the spring rolls, Pad Thai, pad see ew, and Maasaman curry. There are vegetarian options like tofu and vegetarian duck. The outdoor patio is very nice and surrounded by pretty flowers and plants. Definitely check out this spot if you are looking for good Thai food.
We were quite disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. It is not baby- or child-friendly, as they don’t have high chairs, and when children are present, they only provide plastic utensils for the entire table. They claimed this was due to a lawsuit from a few years ago, so they refused to give us metal utensils.
The worst part was the service. They brought us the bill before we even asked for it and didn’t offer to pack our food, making us feel like they were trying to rush us out.
As for the food, it was underwhelming. We ordered chicken fried rice and shrimp pad Thai. The chicken was extremely dry, and the fried rice only had onions—no eggs, which was surprising. The pad Thai was overly saucy and sweet, with no bean sprouts, which made it feel inauthentic. Overall, the food lacked flavor, and the service was poor.
I absolutely love Swaddee’s! They have the best food and calming atmosphere. I always get the coconut soup and pad Thai, sometimes also their crispy duck. My husband loves their red curry. Be adventurous and try the sweet dish: warm sticky rice balls 😋 I recommend Swaddees to everyone!!!
Swadee is run by two of the nicest people in Westchester, and has the best Thai food around. Not only is the service fantastic, but the food is some of the best I’ve ever had. My wife and I always go there for special occasions because the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is perfect both for dates or spending time with family. Can’t recommend this place enough
Food was really good! The curry was amazing and so was the thai tea

Very happy with our first visit for lunch! Will be back for more. My boys had red curry chicken and I had chicken pad se ew 😋

Standard fare prepared well.
Under seasoned less than average Thai food. The pad thai had no flavor at all. No hint of anything, no lime, no peanut, nothing. The ginger chicken had a hint of ginger aroma but that was it. Nothing to offset the dry chicken. I was hoping this might be the place in the area to get some well seasoned and balanced thai food.
Very good vegan options, vegetarian duck is the best

The best food!! The service here is amazing and we’ve been coming here for years! The food is always good and we’ve never ever had a problem, The people here are truly the best
Hello. I drove for 25 min to get there.. the restaurant was closed. The online app said it was opened. It’s not fair. I hope visiting you next time.. and find it open.. thanks
We’ve marked here to come visit for awhile. Tonight was the night! Sadly sign on the door said closed Tuesday’s with no update on Google. :(
Best pad Thai I’ve ever had. Love the fake duck. We also love the pineapple fried rice and duck rolls. Wonderful food and service.
A good place
Some of the most delicious Thai food that we have ever had! There were some very authentic dishes. Highly recommend trying one of their soups. Their curry dishes were also very tasty. We are looking forward to eating there next time we’re in the area!
Have been eating here (mostly takeout) for years and love it. Delicious authentic food and very kind owners. Feels like you're getting home cooking in a very good way. If you eat in, it has a traditional vibe, which might not bother some, but if you're used to hip Thai restaurants like in NYC, eating in might not be for you.
Good flavor and portion size, fair prices, we'll be back.
Tried this place couple of weeks ago. The portions are small, and the included rice was tiny. The sauce was good in my curry, but it could have been a bit more spicy. I’ll try this place again for the final verdict.
Amazing amazing amazing. Just finished the best dinner we've had in months. Staff was Incredible and the food was out of this world. Will be back again may times for sure. To top it all off we got to sit outside in this beautiful garden. Absolutely wonderful place. Can not recomend this place enough.
Delicious Thai food!
Very happy with everything and want to return soon!
Service was excellent!
Swaddee has really delicious food and a great environment. I have a gluten allergy and not all restaurants have great gluten-free options. Swaddee offered many tasty options and the one I chose, shrimp pad Thai, was outstanding! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, but I want to let my gluten-free friends know that you’ll be really happy and satisfied here!
Authentic Thai cooking with modest wine and beer selection. Much closer to food that you buy and eat in Thailand than several other local eateries. I spotted a kafir lime leaf in the Panang curry. For awhile we were the only occupied table in the restaurant-arrived at 8:30. Not sure about peak hours but good practice to phone ahead and reserve. The ginger dumplings came in a boat; you must order the purple sticky rice as a shared dessert - yummy!
Absolutely phenomenal in terms of food quality & service! Have been coming here for more than 16 years.
Great place waiting to be discovered. Food is fantastic! I took away a star for no booze. This should be a takeout mainstay. I go in and sit and the service is great. It's Thai so you have to get through a different menu but it's worth it. Everyone should try.
Food was delicious. Very fresh. A little different from your average Thai restaurant. For the better. Service was good as far as when your meals coming out, but I guess it's short on staff. If you need anything in the waiter kind of disappears for a long period of time. But besides that everything was excellent. I'll definitely be back
Have ordered takeout twice now and I am so so happy with the food! It tastes like food that your Thai grandma would make if you had one :) (That’s a compliment in my book.)
You won’t get the generic Asian food slathered in sauces that tastes all the same. You do get the rich taste of aromatic fragrant Thai spices. My 2 year old daughter loved the curry puff appetizer and the purple rice dessert, and she’s not a super adventurous eater. My only regret is I’ve lived locally for more than a few years and never tried it until now! Next I will be eating in restaurant :)
Best Thai food in Westchester - Our family ordered take-out from Swaddee House for the first time and will definitely be coming back frequently for dine-in. The food was great, the layout and setting is very pretty, and the owners were very warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!
Great place with amazing food and interior. You can tell that a lot of thought has been put into the decor. The staff is very polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend going and have good time.
Good food, perfect flavor of Thailand.
Small and cozy place. Vegetarian option was excellent.
Delicious food great customer service!
Absolutely lovely restaurant!! Loved the atmosphere and food. The staff were so kind and seemed very wholesome. Love to support a family business like this. We'll be back again
Had dinner and lunch there. The food is good, and reasonably priced.
Great people, and service!
This is delicious, authentic, flavorful food that we look forward to enjoying! We always order the same thing - tom kha gai soup, chicken pad thai, sticky rice, kanom bua loy for dessert...truly tasty and very well run establishment. It never disappoints!
This Thai restaurant is great! This was my first time trying Thai food and they left the bar quite high! Inside the restaurant looks very traditional so you get an authentic feel. There is a woman in there who is extremely sweet! I took off one star because I was disappointed that they were out of sake, so I couldn't try any of the traditional cocktails. That was a bummer, but boy did my main entree make up for it! I don't recall the names of the appetizers that were ordered, but the fried snapper is a MUST HAVE!!! First of all,the fish itself is humungous! I have a big appetite and I still had to bring a little bit home. The flavor was perfect, it was fried to a crisp and topped with a nice sauce and served with a side of white jasmine rice. It was to die for! I definitely plan on returning to try other menu items, but boy it will be hard not going for thag snapper again. 10/10 recommend!
One of the best Thai restaurants in westchester. Amazing curries and Tom Yom soup. Highly recommend. Very friendly owner as well.
Fried rice was bland
My family and I have been going to Swaddee House of Thai for well over 10 yrs, and the food is amazing! The owner is great and always asks how my family is. It's a real family run business! Please go support this great restaurant!
It was empty, but the food was quite good. I ordered the coconut shrimp, that was excellent, and my friend the chicken satay, and he enjoyed it. My Thom Kha soup was really good- maybe a little salty, but I'm very salt adverse. As for the entrees, we each ordered pad Thai, and they were good also- not too sweet, which is how I like it.
Ever since my favorite Thai restaurant closed, I have been on the hunt for some authentic fare.
Lucky for me, I spotted this restaurant at a stoplight and made a mental note to stop in.
And I am so glad I did. The food was superb, easily some of the best Thai I have ever had in my life. In fact, I've already planned my next meal. The owners, Bennie and Ira, were so kind and friendly, helping to create an awesome atmosphere.
Highly recommended for take-out or dine-in!
Wife wanted Thai food so used Google and looked at reviews and the Sawddee House of Thai Food came up on top. We entered the place at 4:30 I was worried that the place was overrated from the dirty windows. However, when we entered the Restaurant , it was as if we were in Thailand . The place was clean and decorated with Thailand pictures and design. We were greeted by the owner, Beni. A very polite individual . I commented on the windows and said that when it rains or snow there is always a puddle in the street and when cars come they splash the windows . The Menu was filled with many dishes , appetizers, entrees and soups . You have to pay attention when reading the menu . You select the meat of choice then the noodle that you wanted . The rations were ok . We started with soup, Tom yum ( lemon grass soup and Tom Kha ( Coconut soup) both were fantastic . We selected Chicken Pad Thai abd Beef Pad Thai . Excellent dishes , we ordered Samosa and they were great. Beni said best source for her restaurant is Facebook . Reservation not needed
Very good authentic Thai. It's also family owned and operated.
Great place for a family meal, delicious food and great service!
Delicious authentic Thai food. Best Pad See Ew and Thai tea in the area.
Very good food and very nice people.
Consistently yummy and a super friendly family running the restaurant.
Best around. Had some tough years but new family has it right.
Love Swadee. Food very high quality and consistent. Friendly service. Great takeout option. Always order too much because delicious leftovers. Yom Woonsen, Yom Ped Grob, Green Curry Tofu, and Pad Thai are regular favorites.
Great flavorful food, there’s not that many good Thai restaurants in Westchester...this is my to go to place for Thai food
Good food. Taste so good. Real thai taste
Many choice of food on the menu
I also like new their kids menu too
Really cheap.
My niece love tomato fried rice with chicken wings.
Excellent Pad Thai chicken!;😀
Always great food and wonderful service.
Really wonderful Thai food. Great service from a family that couldn't be nicer. Best in Westchester.
Delicious food and great service in this Family run business.
Good food with reasonable price
Love this establishment. Very courteous, wonderful food, and nice ambiance. The pineapple rice is a home-run.
Sam Ros pork was not hot enough, warm at mist. Service was slow.
The best authentic delicious Thai food!
This place is a hidden gem. Its rarely crowded and the food is great and flavorful. My family comes here all the time. The staff is always kind and attentive. Things you should order:
Appetizers:
The Swaddee shrimp
The spring rolls
All the soups are good
Entrees:
The spicy pepper duck is ALWAYS a favorite. Its amazing
The barbecue chicken
Any of the curries
Foid and owners are amazing never disappointed when we go.
Delicious food and great service. Friendly owner and beautiful decor. Will come back soon!
Great food and beautiful decor. Friendly employees and management, will definitely return soon! I recommend the Pad Thai, Thai iced tea, and coconut shrimp appetizer- all favorites of mine.
Absolutely delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere, usually nearly empty but don’t let that scare you off - it’s amazing!
Used to be better. Food not up too par. Staff very nice
Ordered take out for the first time from here, it was delicious! Though I thought the servings were going to be a bit bigger, the meal was still filling. We got the fried rice and pad Thai along with spring rolls. The food was well seasoned and it was quick to pick up! Will be back for sure.
Really nice experience
A treasure cove of Thai delight in Thornwood.
This dish called Rad Nha! And This Thai restaurant made it so gooood! Great lunch and very nice staffs. I will be back for dinner next time.
Great place for a family meal, delicious food and great service! I have been enjoying their food for 10+ years and I am having trouble believing that anyone could have a bad experience here. They even make my plate special with no hot spices (at my request) and that means a lot! Very accommodating, great atmosphere and kind staff work here.
Yum! Thanks for all the curry puffs and iced tea! ❤️
Horrible..Horrible..Beyond Rude.. on 6/22/19.
Please read the whole review.
My brother-in-law made reservations few days early for 20+2 family members for surprise Birthday party for my sister on 6/22/19, arrival around 7:30 PM. My niece and her husband reached 15 min early and went inside. Tables were not ready. The owner/lady said it's not the time yet. Lady said we don't set up the tables until everyone arrives because people make reservations and they don't come (🤔). Except for 6 (surprise group), 16 of us arrived, she then set up the tables in 2 different sections. We requested to add 2 more chairs in one section and give one high chair for one year old niece. She refused to accommodate us that way. After lengthy discussions she still did not want to change. She then talked to her husband in their language and then came to us and said let me talk to the person who made the reservations. We told her that it's surprise party to his wife and we cannot call him on this, as he is driving. My daughter, she is five months pregnant got aggravated and said to the lady that looks like you don't want our business. The owner/husband brought out the cake we gave him and put it on the table. At this point we all thought they don't want us there. But we didn't want to spoile the surprise birthday for my sister. My son-in-law took my daughter out to calm her down. In mean time we told the lady to put the cake back and give the high chair. And she point blank said rudely that I didn't give the chair because I don't think you guys are staying. At this point I lost my head and told her that we have three elders around 80's and my legally blind mother with us. We came from Connecticut and my sister and her family they are coming from New Jersey. To make half commute for everyone, my brother-in-law choose this restaurant after looking at the reviews and ratings online. We are here for enjoyment and not to be treated like this. We all were angry. Thanks to the smart young ones in the family and smart phone. We found another restaurant and left this Horrible place. It was matter of rearranging and accommodating the guests happily. They were not busy then, and lady kept saying that it's Friday and what(?) if we get busy (🤔). We were already there and we were going to give them business, it wasn't free.
Hope whoever is reading gets the message. Please don't support this kind of behavior/business/people. Thank you for reading.
... WE PLANNED SURPRISE PARTY .. DROVE MORE THAN AN HOUR ... VERY ADAMANT ... RUDE ... DON'T KNOW HOW TO TREAT CUSTOMER ... WORST EXPERIENCE
Is there minus 3 rating possible? Anyone reading this review, I strongly recommend to avoid this restaurant!
We had a surprise party scheduled, called them two days in advance - they confirmed. At dinner time when guests arrived ahead of us (as per the plan that was clearly explained to them ahead of time) they treated every guest rudely! Even families with young kids were not spared! Asking them to stand out until we arrive, which would have killed the surprise!
The guests took it upon themselves to change to another restaurant nearby. Needless to say we were so happy we ended up at another place! The terrible service made everything else immaterial, apparently the lady who did all this is the owner!
Please avoid!
Loved it!
My daughter loves their thai tea. We eat vegetarian. Can't go wrong here, everything is good. I am sure the meat and fish dishes should be good. I think we had dessert here once for a sugary sticky rice and mango. The environment brings you back in the past, maybe the 70s or 80s. Some interesting artwork here and there if you look enough. Service is excellent. Parking on the street. Walkins of 2 people should be no problem but reserve for bigger parties.
Good food!
I had never had pad Thai before and had it here and I absolutely loved it
Yes it' small and out of the way but the Thai food here is as good as it comes. Love their basic stuff, curries, pad thai, spring rolls, tom kha gai and tom yum soup, as well as I've had in any fancier Thai restuarant. And the lunch menu is cheap even though they don't have the buffet anymore. Eaten there a hundred times and never disapointed.
Nice friendly place, good food...
I have been eating here from 2006. The food is extremely good, good flavors and very nice owners. I tried a few Thai restaurants before, but we keep coming to this one as this one has one of the best Thai food. It's quite hard to find authentic spices and cook a perfect authentic Thai food, but they try to do that.
Food is great. We had Basil fried rice, curries, tom yum soup, tom kha soup, calamari. It was quiet when we visited for lunch. Food was served quickly. Staff is very kind and friendly. They even offered their private car park for us to park our bikes next time. Will eat here again.
Tasty food, friendly staff and good ambience.
The flavors of Thai cooking were missing.
Delicious and authentic. Go. Seriously.
Inexpensive AND delicious...the perfect combination.
Best Thai food I've had in Westchester
Yummy
Got food here once for lunch. I liked it but I wouldn’t know any other place lol very good and nice people
Yummy Thai food in Westchester!
Came here on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 5PM. My husband and I were in the mood for some authentic Thai food. Ever since we came back from Thailand we couldn’t find something close to the real thing...until we came here. As soon as you enter into the restaurant it feels as if we were back in Thailand, the decoration and ambiance was very calming, and the utensils are from Thailand! The waiter brought us our drinks right away and took our order. The pricing is reasonable and there was a wide variety of options to choose from. Literally 70 items. I ordered #70 which was the Pad Ra Ew, which is basically rice noodles (I thought it was the thin one like they use in pho, it’s not) broccoli and chicken and my husband ordered the Pad Gra Prao with Basil. For appetizers he just had a Tom Yum Soup. Everything was very good. I definitely recommend if your looking for some authentic Thai food. We will be coming back again soon!!
Awesome
อร่อยมากค่ะ แต่นานไปหน่อย ไว้ไปอุดหนุนใหม่นะคะ :)
Talk about a hidden gem. Lived in Mt. Pleasant for 20 years and have always known about this place, but never went. Finally decided to go one day and wow was I surprised at just how amazing the food is. This place really deserves more recognition. Very authentic and delicious Thai food - the staff is also extremely friendly.
Hidden gem in Westchester--there is a reason this place has been here under the same ownership for 20 plus years. Great Thai food and excellent service
Food is good but service is slow
This place has made me fall in love with Thai food
Pretty good Thai food for the suburbs and really good lunch special options. I don't know about evenings, weekends or takeout but lunch is consistently good.
Food is good
Really great food and service everybody is so courteous
Small family run restaurant with consistently good Thai fare
Everything was overly sweet! Not authentic Thai, perhaps the reason why no asian was there during our visit.
Wonderful cuisine and service.
Yum. Quick. Small. Great good. Great service. Loved it.
Good inexpensive place for Thai food
Delicious lunch outside! Good food and good service. The a/c was off inside so I was glad there was an outside option.
Incredible food, great staff, great pricing. This restaurant is a hidden gem. The restaurant can be quite quiet.
Good food and service
Best Thai in Northern Westchester
nice traditional feel
Great lunch menu options and price
Good Thai food.
Good food .love the place.
Very nice place
If you are passing by and it is open do stop.
Exceptional food and service
One of the best thai restaurant. Loved the food.
It's good food, friendly service, nice & quiet ambiance, and a very good price - a great value for the money! Our favorites: squid salad, duck curry, pad thai, fish with basil, and some more... all very good. Perfect place if you don't want to cook after a long day, and not breaking your bank. And I've been in Thailand many times...
the food is great we love it
This place is a gem in westchester county! Authentic Thai family thai food. Beautiful place for a nice lunch!
Place was solid but not as good as I'd hoped for. Admittedly I had been in Thailand a few months before so might have too high of standards but I wanted more.
Nice ambiance, not bad food with not bad prices. The Pad See Ew is far from great, just a heads up
Amazing foods willing to come back again 😍😍
Quiet place that is usually not crowded. Great place for a relaxing dinner. Been coming here for about 3 years and the food has always been on point, no complaints.
Great food! My favorite Thai restaurant in Westchester.
Been going here for 15 years. Just great.
my favorite Thai restaurant, excellent food
Great food and very friendly service. You can get it as hot as you like. Young couple who own it have redecorated it and it now had a very homey feel. Highly recommend it
Still our favorite Thai restaurant.
Eat outside.
I moved the the neighborhood from NYC 2 years ago. I am so happy I discovered this place. Not only is it the best thai in Westchester, but maybe in all of New York. There is also a big vegetarian menu, which is something I haven't found often around here. The decor is very cosy. Not a good place for children unless they are quiet and well behaved, but a fantastic place to bring a date. I always order my curry extra spicy!
Service is slow, but the pad thai is good! The Thai iced teas and spring rolls are fantastic.
