We went here on a Saturday night and we were seated immediately. It has a really nice vibe and would be a great date spot. They have a lot of funky mocktails. Our server was JB? and she was absolutely lovely! I had the bam bam pineapple and the presentation was awesome and it was pretty good. My friends all like their dishes too. The chili chicken was spicy so definitely only order if you can handle spice. I had the sticky rice and mango for dessert and it hit the spot. Although the chocolate cake was delicious too! I’ll definitely be back.

Ambiance (5/5): The inside was beautifully decorated! It is perhaps a little too dimmly lit with small table lamps for ambiance mood lighting. However, it was a nice quiet dining experience. There is a bar in the middle and the bathroom is located down the stairs.
Service (5/5): We dined at 9pm and were actually one of 4 tables during this late hour. At around 9:30pm they did last call for food. Due to the few patrons, we received great service. My one critique was that our server was too forceful in providing menu suggestions that it felt like it was too long and intruded on our dining experience. She did so very politely but it was too much.

Zesty Calamari (5/5): Not extremely breaded but the seasoning was delicious. The mango sauce was unique a provided a nice flavor to each bite. I will it came with a side to drown my calamari into!
Massaman Curry (5/5): I absolutely loved my curry dish! The presentation was beautiful with fresh pieces of herbs (rosemary, flower for visual appeal). The curry was very rich and packed with flavorful spices. The chicken bites were tender. I thought there was a similar depth of flavor in the Eggplant Curry too. The side of rice is an extra $2.
All the drinks menu are mocktails. Since the establishment is halal, there is no alcohol served! The mocktails all sounded delicious but was pretty expensive ($12+). If they were like $6, I would have definitely had a few to try.

Really nice halal restaurant. We went for dinner on a Friday night and were able to get a table immediately. Food was tasty, portions are a little on the smaller side. Make sure to say you want tap water not bottled water. Love that they don’t serve alcohol.

By far one of the best food spots in new york in my opinion. We’ve ate in a lot of restaurants in new york and this was phenomenal. No gratuity fee, just watch the prices but you get way more than what you pay for. Food was perfectly timed, starters came in 5-7 minutes, right after they took the plates, the main courses came fresh out the kitchen. Their food is amazing, actually aimed towards the cuisine. The sauces were authentic and tasted like it was made in Asia. The drinks were next level and presented like your royalty. Will come again and you must try.

I Ordered Pad See-Ew w/ chicken for delivery. The chicken was cut up to big and had a weird taste to it. Not enough noodles it was mostly pieces of chicken cut up in huge pieces to take up more space in the plate? IDK. But barely any noodles or veggies. Food was below average, service - really bad- always missing something (plates, glasses etc), bringing the wrong order. Later realized that we were charged for the wrong order that was placed on our table too. Don’t recommend.

In my opinion the only reason people goes there because its Halal. They use extra aroma in every single dishes. The price you pay and the quantity of food you get its very shocking.way Overpriced ! Will never recommend any thai food lover.

The food wasn't horrible, but it was pretty mediocre for the price. Maybe after paying 30-something dollars for one curry, you expect something better? The presentation was nice with the flowers being a nice touch, leaving me with higher expectations, only to leave me disappointed. The fried rice was a bit bland and some of the food didn't taste that fresh. If you love paying for overpriced food, that doesn't live up to the hype, this restaurant is for you. For the total cost, I would say subpar at best. Don't come to this restaurant if you are looking for great food.

The service was fast, although they insisted on taking your plates too early and almost rushed you to finish your meal. I looked away for one second, and the bowl of tum yum soup I didn't even finish was gone. There were barely any intervals between each meal; I expected you to give me at least 5 minutes to finish my appetizer and enjoy it.

The atmosphere was pretty nice. It was pretty cozy, with nice lighting. It's like one of those restaurants you go to once, and never again. It's not suitable for families either. There wasn't that much space on the tables that are on the left side when you enter.

From the moment we arrived he made us feel welcomed and cared for; his kindness and generosity stood out more than anything. Went to Nur Thai in Astoria the other day and had a very good experience. This location has a distinct vibe and the menu was different from their other location on Woodheaven Blvd- the original Nur Thai, which is also very good! We tried different apps, mains and deserts and everything tasted amazing! I love how this neighborhood has changed over the years and now there's a nice halal restaurant here. Wouldn't have imagined a restaurant like this opening on this block back in the 90s!

Went there again tonight after a long time. Nur After Dark is great!

I went there with expectation but felt very embarrassed they treated us very badly they charged us $50 extra when we told them they said it’s a Mistake but if I didn’t check the receipt I would have pay $50 extra .
The manager was so rude. They don’t know what is customer service he started yelling at husband.

Before paying your bill, always double-check it carefully. They have a tendency to add unexpected charges, as this has happened to me and my relatives. When confronted, they often claim it was just a mistake.

Additionally, outside birthday cakes are not allowed unless you pay a $25 fee. While some of the staff are professional, others fall short of expectations.

This was by far the worst thai food I've ever had in NYC. Literally they just boiled noodles and threw them in a Tupperware. The blandest and saddest meal.

I ordered the Pad Thai ($12) with shrimp (add’l $3) thru UberEats. For some reason the restaurant is called “Bangkok Express” on UberEats instead of “Nur Thai.” I realized it was the same due to the takeout bag they gave me (see photo).

The Pad Thai was super small even for me (I’m a petite person). When I eat Pad Thai, I always have leftovers, but I finished it all and didn’t feel that full afterwards. I opted to add shrimp which was an additional $3 and it only came with 3 shrimp. That’s $1 per shrimp and they are the tiny shrimps, not the jumbo shrimps (see photo for scale).

I would not eat here again. The food is mediocre, nothing special, and the portions are small. Prepare to spend more to be full if you decide to dine here.

Such a delicious Halal thai spot. For the starters, got the chicken satay, and I was pleasantly surprised.

My visit to this restaurant was disappointing from start to finish. Poor management led to long delays, and when the food finally arrived, it was cold and lacked freshness. The understaffed team struggled to keep up, making the service even worse.

Loved their sriracha and basil fried rice. Also the lava cake is worth your try. Their mocktail named blue rain…its good and very instagram-able. Definitely worth a try!

Was surprisingly impressed by the presentation and food! I remember coming here years ago and not liking the food, however, they have definitely stepped up their game! We got the spicy udon noodle, pad see ew and cocktail shrimp and loved it all! The spicy udon was definitely my favorite! Also, loved the ambiance and blue chairs, such a vibe!

Delicious food, slightly spicier than the Woodhaven location with a more upscale atmosphere and complex food preparation. Laora and other staff provided courteous, timely and helpful service. Definitely a great addition to the neighborhood.

Noodles were complete mush instead of thei normal chewy bouncy texture, the gai lan (Chinese broccoli) was a mix of old, wilted, discolored veg and fresh veg, refer to the photo for reference. The only 2 pieces of American broccoli as also old to the point where the florets are starting to mush together & are discolored. The fresh Chinese broccoli leaves were full of sand, crunchy and grainy. Yuck.

The only good thing was the Thai iced tea, but $6 for 1 cup is criminal. Maybe tonight was an off night but I’ve never ever had this experience with a Thai restaurant before. Very concerning and a huge disappointment overall.

My boyfriend and I love this place, the servers are very nice. The food it is incredible. We always order the Creamy Tom Yum because we love it and the Green curry with chicken didn’t disappoint, we also had the pad thai. if you are looking for a good Thai restaurant this is your place.

This place is great. The food is delicious and the presentation is amazing. The mango salad and the massaman short ribs are especially good. Our server Palistha was really great too. Be aware they don’t serve booze. But the mocktails were impressive. I think this place is great for kids because the mocktails are so over the top. You really gotta see it to believe it.

Came here sometimes last year and I loved it. This time around it was completely different. Ordered chicken wings for the appetizers and my son complained that it felt like it wasn’t fully cooked. I didn’t think much of it so we awaited the food. My sister had the noodles in the picture which was a portion of “extra” shrimp. For the price of $6 we only received 3 shrimps which were under cooked. Unfortunately we ate the shrimps thinking the next one to be better. When we told them about the taste we were told that since the shrimps were eaten there was nothing they can do. Working as a director for a food restaurant I was a little shocked by this response and it felt like we were dismissed. When we were making payment and asked about our visit there was one server that was very dismissive. When we stated things that were wrong all that was said was sorry.

07-02-2024 at 8-45pm was my fifth visit to this restaurant. While I was parking my car with my infant baby and wife, I dropped my 4-year-old daughter, mother, and sister to go in and sit but the manager kept them standing because we were not all inside I understand that might be his own rules. I have been there before and I waited for my friends nobody told me to stand by the door, also we asked for five Mohito server gave us four ( she was very nice) so we asked her to give us one more—- So funny and disturbing part is that stupid manager start counting our Passion potion glasses. He is dumb and has no idea about customer service. I won't go to this restaurant if I see that idiot manager around also I suggest to my family and friends the same things.

Adore the restaurant’s ambiance with the color scheme and patterns. The staff members were really friendly. Anoushka assisted us throughout our time there and she just knew what kind of refreshing beverage I was craving for last night! She recommended the Passion Potion and it was absolutely delicious! Looking forward to going back to try something new.

My recent visit to Nur Thai was a profound disappointment in almost every aspect. The food was shockingly subpar—tasting bland and unmistakably reheated in a microwave. The sticky rice served was burnt, which is inexcusable for a supposedly quality restaurant. The masaman curry was a joke, containing a measly three tiny pieces of chicken that were barely even diced.

To add insult to injury, the non-alcoholic apple juice I ordered tasted like it had been fermenting for a century. The flavor was beyond unpleasant and made me question the freshness of everything else on their menu.

Speaking of the menu, the prices at Nur Thai are exorbitant for the quality of food they serve. It's clear they are charging for a reputation they do not deserve. Save yourself the time, money, and disappointment by choosing a better Thai restaurant in Astoria.

The only positive note was the waitress, who was attentive, helpful, and genuinely friendly. She was the sole saving grace in an otherwise dismal dining experience.

As someone who has traveled to Thailand and experienced authentic Thai cuisine, I can confidently say that Nur Thai falls far short of representing true Thai flavors and quality. It's a shame that such a potentially great dining spot in Astoria has fallen so far from grace.

I admit it, I’ve been low key gate keeping this place. Hands down good thai food but what you cannot top, you cannot fake is the incredible non-alcoholic cocktail menu and the far and away above and beyond service. The massaman short rib …. No words just joy. The rose cocktail is an amazing achievement. I don’t have the proper words to put in quotation because I’m too quickly ordering and reordering again (no joke I ordered 3 times in a week since trying it out)

My family and I have been going to Nur Thai for a while now and we’ve always been kindly greeted by Palissa. She is amazing and has always provided us with quality service!

A really special experience. The food was excellent and served in beautifully plated ways.
The place is beautifully decorated, which made for a very pleasant atmosphere. On the pricy side.

Don’t fall for fake reviews most of them is owner friends and family, scam food places with nothing as real Thai, owner is so cheap doesn’t even put Ac when is slow, low on food amounts and tasteless low quality. Cheap food high price

Hello my family are visiting from Chicago and we had a spectacular dinner!
Our sever ALIYA was fantastic! The presentation was immaculate as our halal mocktail -- the paradise--was presented with oozing fancy smoke. Next the entrèes were mouth watering and delicious. We ordered the ribeye steak which had a smoky flavor and the meat was sooo tender and juicy. All the other entrees we had were just as delicious.

Our server, Aliya, provided fantastic efficient service. She had great enthusiasm and a welcoming aura to make the restaurant a comforting inn!

In conclusion, 10/10 highly recommend!

We ordered the Tom yum soup, pad ke mao, ginger coconut fried rice, and a dish with ground beef and peppers. All of the dishes and drinks were delicious! The vibes are immaculate because of the stunning interior design. Our server was prompt and kind to help enjoy our time! You have to stop by and enjoy this beautiful restaurant!

I have a lot of favorite Thai restaurants but this just might be my new favorite! Not only is their presentation gorgeous, it’s absolutely delicious too!

love this halal thai spot! food is yummmyy, it’s nicely decorated on the inside, and they have soooo many mocktail options with incredible presentation. perfect for a ladies lunch on a weekend bc its not too crowded! service is always great too 💯

I must say this place was OUTSTANDING. The food & service are top notch.
They do not serve alcohol becasue they are Halal. But they have an amazng Mocktail menu with an impressive presentaion. I will be back. Thank you jasmine for your wonderful service.

We have been to Nur Thai many times now and love it! The food and drinks are delicious and are presented so beautifully. The restaurant itself is so cute and has very pretty inside decor. Our server Darrow was excellent! So personable and attentive. He made great recommendations for food and made us feel so welcome. We had a great time with him as our server and had so many laughs! 100% recommend trying Nur Thai if you live anywhere in NYC!

Went last week. My server Darrow put on a whole show with the mocktails and made it an enjoyable evening out. The spicy udon was incredible.

Compare to quality of the food price is bit higher. Takes way longer to serve.

Came here from NJ after seeing some posts on social media couldn't believe how cool and awesome the drinks were and was shocked at how delicious everything was and the cleanliness and taste were exceptional! So happy to find this gem as it's 100% halal and the experience was so worth it! Definitely will be coming back😋

We had a great time here! Food was amazing! Drinks were great! Presentation was nice and we had a great waiter! His name was Darrow. He made our experience pleasant :) he deserves a raise!! My kids loved their Taro flavored ice cream! We will definitely be going back!

We had a lovely dinner out at Nur! We really loved the Massaman short ribs and the drinks are fun and creative. Special shout out to Darrow who made sure we were well taken care of through out the evening.

Went for the first time. We had reservations for 8 pm and since the place was packed we did end up waiting for 20 minutes. However once seated, we had a good meal. Our server Darrow took good care of us and shared details when asked about the drinks and how they are served. Food is presented tastefully and is tasty.Thier drinks are nice, we tried mango nectar and Rose fizz(presented in a unique way). We went for iftar and after dinner we wanted to skip dessert but Darrow treated us to chai tea ice cream (on the house)! Definitely recommend the place for service and good food. Ambiance is decent as well.

One thing I would recommend for the restaurant, is for it to be a little brighter in there, it was too dark.

First off, I have to give props to our server Darrow. He is without a doubt one of the most passionate and enjoyable servers I have ever come across. He made us feel right at home with his witty jokes and explained the menu with great expertise.

His food recommendations and descriptions were spot on and just enhanced our dining experience. He never left our table untended despite the place filling up.

It's just refreshing to dine in a place with people like him there.

Definitely would recommend for you to see for yourself! Would also like to add that the way he presented each drink we ordered(they serve really creative mocktails and non-alcoholic wine) was video worthy and a treat in itself to watch.

With that said, the food presentations were top notch and the flavors were pretty good. Would definitely recommend for you to try the deep fried taro ice cream.

Lastly, the place looks nice although found it a bit odd that there were scented candles at the entrance but it just adds to the ambiance I suppose!

Tldr; Darrow was an MVP of a server and you should try the Deep fried Taro ice-cream! Highly recommend this place on a splurge!

Ive been here multiple times and each time the food was consistent (nothing was ever bad). As for dessert their Taro ice cream is one of my favorites. Our server Darrow was also amazing answering any questions, giving recommendations, making jokes and just keeping the atmosphere comfortable/ enjoyable. The presentations for special drinks are also always very interesting and fun. Would definitely recommend going here if you care about aesthetic, presentation, vibes. The restaurant is also very clean and cute for pictures (Didnt check out the bathroom). The food is Halal and their drinks are all non alcoholic :)

I regret picking this place. We used to go to other ones and they were better. This place charged too much for what you get. The food portions were tiny, and the servers seemed new. The food didn't taste good at all. The only good thing was the atmosphere.I don't get why this one has good ratings. I spent $300 there and I'm still hungry.

I really love the OG location of Nur Thai and have historically recommended due to their great service and food and I really wanted to try this place based off of that. However, I was sorely disappointed. The beautiful decor was the only thing I enjoyed. The food was subpar and the service atrocious — the server forgot our water several times despite us asking and her behavior while taking our order was a bit strange. The rib-eye steak was flavorless and definitely not worth what I paid for. I really wish I could be rating this higher but it’s a no from me.

Such a great place. The food was amazing, the restaurant is nice and cozy, and the staff are great. The Massaman Short Ribs are a must try, and the Blue Rain is so refreshing.
