From Our Thai Family to Yours: A Journey of Flavorful Perfection
Yesterday evening I went to this restaurant, waitress brought plain normal water without asking us I was shocked does she know that asians don't drink water with ice cubes in it.
After that second shock, everyone was served with complimentary salad except us, waitress saw us but ignored it, how can we ask when they are not ready serve it.
I felt waitress discriminating behaviour and ambience is too low looks old model.
We ordered fried rice, pad thai, and a thai curry and everything tasted more on the sweeter side. Found it kind of ironic since they state on the menu that they won’t remake an item for you if you order it too spicy. Flavor is mediocre and servers insisted that pad thai is supposed to be sweet. 🤷♀️ There’s better out there.
I ordered a chicken pad thai medium spice & thai wings. the pad thai lacked flavor, was mid. I thought the chicken wings would be fried, despite that they were good. I asked the waiter was there limes in the pad thai he said yes. Clearly, there are no limes. My thai tea was so sweet I had to add water and ice to it to water it down. overall the food was 3/5.
Tastefully decorated restaurant with very friendly staff.
The food here is good. I ordered the the Drunken Noodle and it was very flavorful. The noodles were tender and stir-fried well. The beef and vegetables were not overcooked. However, the spice levels are a bit off. I ordered a Level 5 expecting the breathe fire, but I was wanting more spice. Next time I will ask for additional chili powder.
Overall, a great experience! I will be back to try their other dishes.
I had a great experience. The most liked dish for me were the spring rolls - they were very good and crispy with flavor. I highly recommend trying them if you are a vegetarian.
However, the chicken fried rice was okay. While it wasn't terrible, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. I didn't feel it spicy enough. With addition of sauces on side it felt good.
That being said, its a cute restaurant with friendly staff. Overall, I would definitely recommend it!
Loved this Thai place. Everything I ordered was really good. Had the spring rolls, massaman curry and jasmine tea. The curry portions are enough for 2 people to share if you take an extra side of rice. The ambience is very nice. My other two favorite Thai places in Irving are chilli Thai and Thai-e-san. But Thai monkey is the best of the lost. Also saw many people ordered Tom yum soup, which came in a walk with a flame in the center, seemed interesting. Will order in the next visit.
First time in Texas and I wanted to try this place out and It was a 10/10. I will defilingly be coming back!

I like it. Really overwhelming place ❤️
Food is always excellent and service was great.
Best ambient, best food , love it
The place, ambience and food was great !! the service was also amazing! Must visit.
Recommend: pad see ew- chicken
Amazing Thai food! The flavors were authentic, and everything tasted fresh. The Pad Thai and Green Curry were absolutely delicious. Great service and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend!
The food and the service was great. This place never lets me down
The food and service was great! This place never lets me down!
Great place! Food is delicious, always hot and fresh. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Servings are really generous and tasty 😋.
This place was not good at all i didn’t even finish my food.
Service not that great. The service at the front was in a hurry rushing and wasn't listening. got my food wrong and I didn't want to stay there anymore. won't come back or order again. This place used to be good long ago but now not so much. Get better service somewhere else. Before it was different better previous owners, now new name new owners terrible service with the young boy in the front. Won't come back again.
My frst visit to this restaurant customer service is fantastic and wow food and serving plating is so so good and I recommend my self to go there 🥰 again
The service was top notch and the environment and food is too good and welcoming.
The Tom kha soup was below average, mushrooms and broth didn’t seem fresh, and barely any flavor.
The appetizers ( fried spring roll, and fried cheese roll) had more dough than filling. And the cheese roll had very little cheese and low quality cheese.
The curry dishes were decent, probably the only decent dishes we enjoyed.
Last but not least, the restaurant closes at 10 pm and by 9:30 pm we were done eating and had paid the bill, but were chatting and catching up with family, when the waitress came by and asked “ do you need anything else?” I replied “no thank you” she replied “ we are closing in 10 minutes” I said “ your sign says you are closing at 10 pm, it’s 9:30 pm” so then her and the only other waitress working with her say
“ yes but we have to clean”. Also there were 2 guests eating dinner across from us.
So overall, the curry is decent but nothing else is worth the visit especially not the service.
If a manager reads this review, the two young girls Im referring to that both joined in on telling me that we had to leave by 9:30 pm so they can clean, were working the night shift from 8:30 pm- 9:30 pm on 12/10/24.
Goodnight
Curry nunca decepciona, muy buena comida.

On my visit today the food hit amazingly not only was the service good today Mr Addy was a great server and the atmosphere was a delight. Will be referring my friends tu this place.
Recently I ordered yellow curry and to my dismay it was absolutely terrible. Firstly I asked for four stars and it was clearly sweet with barely any noticeable spiciness. Secondly it seemed incredibly rich and had a consistency that wasn't thick enough. And lastly it essentially tasted as if someone used a microwaveable curry dish and melted in a copious of butter at a poor attempt of enhancing flavor. I was uncomfortably bloated for multiple hours afterwards despite not even finishing the meal.
Good food, nice ambience, prompt service. Great business lunch stop!!
Good food. Friendly service. Quiet. Fast. I love the Halloween decorations. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Hands down the best Thai restaurant in Irving!! Got the glass noodles and khao soi- both were delicious!
This is the best Thai food I’ve ever had! The service was excellent. I highly recommend the green curry and Thai tea!
Food tastes too sweet… authentic thai food shouldn’t be so sweet like Chinese food….
Over priced and not worth the money! Never going back again.
Great Thai food spot in Irving! The beef drunken noodles are so good!
Used to eat here for lunch every Thursday during work. But today I found a roach in my green curry (which was delicious, the curry not the roach). I am so disappointed. I will not ever be eating from here again. Dine at your own risk
Stopped by for lunch. Food came out hot and fast. It was pretty tasty. The entree came with a small salad and vegetables egg roll. Inside has a good feel and the servers were attentive.
I'm only giving two stars because the food is good. I put in an order for a pickup through the restaraunt website and when I went to pick it up, they told me they had given my order to someone else. Mistakes happen, but then, they tell me to call the number listed on my online recipe which turns out to be the restaraunts direct number. So then I have to call the Smile Dining number (I guess the website vendor they use) and the person I spoke to had difficulties speaking English so I wasn't able to get a refund with them either. The process to get a refund is pretty frustrating and harder than it should be. If anyone decides to order online for this place, fair warning that you run the risk of your order being given to the wrong person and not getting a refund either.
I had a remarkable dining experience here, largely thanks to our exceptional server, Addy. From the moment we were seated, he made us feel welcome with a warm smile. He was highly attentive throughout our meal, ensuring our drinks were always refilled and checking in at just the right times to address any needs. Thanks!!!
The service and food were excellent. Our server, Addy, was kind, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended some dishes that were delicious and ensured we had everything we needed. Great service overall. Thanks, and we'll definitely be back!
The music they play is beyond obnoxious. Service is young kids with no clue to customer service. Looks like new owners took over, and they turned a decent place into a dump.
They are supposed to open till 10pm. We went at 9:25pm and they said “we are closes”. I travelled for 12 miles and this is what they said. If your kitchen closes that early you are supposed to change your business timings.
Ordered vegetarian Drunken noodles smelled more fish sauce than the taste.
Great greetings and Addy was very knowledgeable about the menu
I just went to this restaurant with my friend for dining. The food was absolutely delicious it was my second time trying the Thai food and it was fabulous .As for the service, server were really friendly specifically one girl I guess her name is bishnu Thank you for this heart full service ..
I will definitely recommend to try there food once
I was craving some red curry and this place did not disappoint! I ordered the red curry with chicken at a level 3 spiciness level came out quickly and hot. Only downside is that the meal after taxes was around $15 not including tip(I dont know if this price is common, still gave 5 star). Otherwise it was a great experience!
Great experience!!! Servers are friendly and attentive even though it was super busy!!! Foods are amazing! Highly recommend!!!
Okay
Thanks Addy for making our dining experience good today , service and food was awesome.
We will be back for sure!
The food and the service is very good, Our server Addy was so good and made sure that we had everything. Thanks Addy!!
Sam was super kind and sweet❤️ he made sure we had a good experience 🙏🏼
The manager was rude. Me and my friend sat in a four person table since the entire restaurant was empty, yet he forced us to sit in a cramped spot
The service and food are amazing. Addy is very attentive, makes an effort to know the customer and remembers your previous orders, preferences.
You have cone here. The food and Thai tea are amazing but the service from Addy and Bishnu are the best servers in dfw!
My food was not good. First time here. Maybe I selected the wrong thing.
I went to get a coconut ice cream since it’s delicious and it was just odd. I could taste the frost of the refrigerator on it. It was not fresh and it was condensed in some parts and then tasteless in others like it had melt. It even had pieces of ice (literally ice) on it. It tasted more like an old refrigerator than ice cream. I wonder how long it’s been in the freezer :(
Very good service and food!!!
It was a very good dining experience over here. Our server Addy was so professional and very friendly. He helped us to recommend us some food and was very helpful.
We will be back here for sure!!Thanks Addy..
Food is delicious. Oid came out quickly and hot. Payment service a bit slow on taking payment because if lunch crowd. Will definitely make this a go-to lunch spot!!
Huge thanks to our server Addy for the fantastic service! He made our dining experience worth it and good.Very good service will recommend for sure!!!
It was our very first dining experience and our server Addy helped us to recommend us some food and was so helpful and friendly.Excellent service! Our server Addy was attentive, friendly, and made our dining experience exceptional. Highly recommend!
We will sure come back again!!!
Came here for my favorite Thai dish pad see-ew. It didn’t look like it does when I get it from other places which was 1st red flag. Ordered it with no spice and maybe that was my fault because there was no flavor. Tasted like plain noodles and broccoli.
Simply amazing!! Had yellow curry and cheese rolls. I was in heaven!!! Thai Monkey is delicious!! Sa is so sweet and professional. Best Tai around!!!
You can't possibly enjoy your food if the server is rude and unwelcoming
I’ve been ordering take out from this place for a while and recently it’s decreased in quality and service :( the portion sizes are much smaller and the quality of the food is not the same. They stopped putting peanuts on pad Thai and it’s way more watery than before. Sad to see as this has been a consistent spot for us for a while. The man behind the counter was not friendly at all
Food was very good!
Very nice place!
Ant was a great server and the food was amazing. I would recommend!
It was a great experience! Loved the server Ant!
Ant was a great server pls try this place!
The food was delicious. Addy provided excellent service.
The food was great and in big portions. Thanks Addy.
Addy provided wonderful service. Food is amazing! Staff is attentive and quick.
Stunning food taste and service.
Addy was a great server and the pad Thai is always me and my husbands best from the menu to choose and the Thai tea to cool off with from the level of spice we have with our pad Thais. Want to try a new spot should come here.
Pad thai was great. Thanks addi
Food is great. Addy is good server
Great service from Addy and cool decorations in the restaurant!
Five-star service! Our server Addy was attentive without being intrusive, making sure we had everything we needed while allowing us to enjoy our meal in peace. Their friendly attitude and professionalism enhanced our dining experience significantly.
We will be surely come back here again!
Food was fresh and pad see ew was amazing. Addy also was great and service was good.
The food is absolutely delicious and Addy was a great server! I would definitely come back again!!!
Great pad Thai! Addy was an excellent server!
Foods are delicous and Adddy is da best
Delicious meals and very friendly service. Addy is da best
This is my favorite Thai food in DFW!
Delicious food, will be back!
Pad Thai is very different and good. Yellow curry is also good as expected, but fried tofu is buttered so it's extra yummy.
I had a strong craving for a light, clear seafood soup, so I called Thai Monkey Restaurant to inquire about their options. Despite clearly specifying my preference for a clear soup with seafood, I was assured they had just the thing: tom yum soup. They quoted a price of $12 for a large size, and I eagerly placed my order over the phone.
However, upon delivery, I was shocked to find that they had charged me $20 instead of the agreed-upon $12, citing an additional $8 charge for seafood, which was never mentioned during our phone conversation.
Even more disappointing was the soup itself. Instead of the clear, fragrant broth I had anticipated, it was drowning in red oil and spices, so much so that it resembled a curry more than a soup. To add insult to injury, the seafood consisted of fried fish strips, an unconventional and unsuitable choice for a soup.
The overpowering sourness and excessive oiliness left me feeling betrayed and unsatisfied. While I've enjoyed tom yum soup in the past, what Thai Monkey Restaurant served was a far cry from the authentic dish I had hoped for.
They won’t let you dine in 15 till nine and their sign said they close at 10 and they’re very rude
Enjoyed a good lunch. Lots of variety at reasonable prices.
The green papaya salad was perfect and I enjoyed the roast duck.
I ordered pick up with pad thai, drunken noodle and tomkha.
Others 2 is okay but tomkha is over salty, feel like they poured all salt they have in the kitchen I had to throw away..
delicious! its one of my favorite local spots. if you havnt tried this place then do it 🙊
Strip mall location is by no means fancy, but food is wonderful.
Hard to find vegetarian options since most of the curry/preparations have fish or oyster sauce. Service was great, the waiters were really nice. The portion size is less, food was ok.
We walked in and the greeting was very welcoming for starters! We ordered the dumpling and that was so delicious and we ask the waitress for what she would recommend since this was our first time trying something different and what we ordered was just so delicious, vegetables cooked the way I like it and my husband stated every bite he took tasted better than the one before. We will definitely recommend this place as we will be dining frequently! THANK YOU
We ordered the chicken satay, basil chicken, basil fried rice, vegetable tofu and lo mein. Every dish was absolutely fantastic and well prepared. I highly recommend Thai Monkey!
Waitress actually all staff spoke minimal English. It's more point at the menu. I tried to ask about the tea and to get some to go ,well we gave up.
Would give this place 0 stars if I could. Came from out of town and I spent $30 on 2 small items. I removed pork from the only dish I wanted as they don’t do any substitution, the portions are tiny, and the rice I was given was stale as if it was days old and reheated. I specifically asked before I ordered if the mango sticky rice that was available was quality and was given an unripe, hard, flavorless mango and stale coconut rice. Staff has no consideration nor care for the dissatisfaction of customers, so don’t bother going there unless you want subpar food with subpar service.
I had the worst thai food experience here. We ordered pad thai, crab fried rice and noodles salad without any meat/ substitute with tofu but then the pad thai was okay but the noodles salad had very weird smell. We had mentioned the server that our friend is vegetarian and doesn’t eat any meat or egg. And trust me we have modified menu item when we have a vegetarian friend along but they were very resistant to it. My friend almost threw up because of the weird smell. The crab fried rice didn’t have crab meat of what they charged to it. We brought to gos because couldn’t eat there and it just smell so bad we ended up throwing the food. This has never happened before and the server was treating us like we don’t know about thai food at all. We go to restaurant to have a pleasant experience, if we don’t get treated or greeted properly why would someone go to a sit down restaurant?
Food seemed very expensive for what you get. It's Not bad but we almost spend $50 for 2 dine in lunches and that just seems a bit too much. We ordered 2 entrees and an appetizer.
5 star Tom Yum & Tom Kha
I have been a regular customer at Thai Monkey for years. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. We had a reservation for 11 people at 7:30pm, so the manager Tan was aware of our group coming. However, he rushed us through our meal from the moment we arrived, urging us to order and eat quickly so he could close by 9:30pm. This was despite the dining room and restrooms not being busy. I felt very rushed and that Tan was being very rude. We ended up leaving at 8:15pm because of the pressure to hurry through our food. As regular customers with a reservation, I expected better service where we could comfortably enjoy our meals without being rushed out early. I want to see Thai Monkey succeed, but this experience has me questioning if I will return. I hope the ownership addresses the management's poor treatment of customers. With more respectful service
Good
Popped into this Thai gem and got hit by a flavor fiesta! Those dumplings were pure bliss, the noodles had me doing a happy dance, and the curry? Next-level amazing. Plus, the service was top-notch and the place had this Thai paradise vibe going on. If you're up for a taste adventure with a side of awesome ambiance, this spot's the place to be.
Great food amazing thai ice tea as well. I got a level 4 spicey out of 5, and it wasn't that spicey so I reccomend if you like spicey to get a spicey level 5!
Went with wife & her boss to eat. We had a variety of dishes that were shared by everyone. The dishes were hot and delicious. The restaurant was clean and laid out nicely.
I ordered chicken pineapple curry with spice level 5 but the spice was level 0. You guys can do well with spices. Also, there were only 3 pineapples in my curry. Curry itself also lacked a lot of veggies. I met with a rude waitress named Starting from A. I hope she doesn’t deal with another customer in the same way.
Great vegetarian options!
We searched Irving via Google for Thai locations and came across Thai Monkey. The food was delicious, fast, and hot. The service was great too, especially considering we came in an hour before closing. We will be looking for a reason to be in the area again just to eat here.
The food it is ok , but the portions everytime are getting smaller and smaller and this is not a cheap place .. is hard to talk to the employees or manager when you are not agree with their food . I called and I said many times no spice please because I can't eat spice . When I got my order it was so little riche with some veggies and chicken but very spice .. i called and I keep telling them this food is spicy the employee said it is not spicy ai keep replying it is spice I can even see the flakes ... she gives the phone to a guy and keep repeating to me it is not spice at this point I was upset ! Really I said is spicy and I taste it and I can see the flakes ... I said not spicy at all I can't eat spice . He didint apologize or said anything nice like hey we will change your order and next time we will give you like a $10 credit or free desert.. he just told me bring the old food and returned and we will make a new one .. Of course we bring the food but the way it was managed was so unprofessional they ar e not courteous at all .. they don't care about the customer experience just about the money . Really you guys have to learn about how to handle this situations .
After reading several reviews, the portions are too small for the price and the restaurant keeps lying in their replies about portion improvement for the last 2 years. Why are Americans spending appropriately $20 on $.25 cents worth of rice! Americans like to eat! And we spend our hard earned money on food. So we have high expectations in quality and quantity. If you refuse to adapt, you will LOSE our business and eventually shut down. So either dont join the food industry or leave our country and go back to yours!.
Excellent yellow curry and Tom yum soup. 👍 Food was quick as well! Would recommend the food to be a bit spicier, ordered a level 5, and level 4 dish, wasn’t as spicy as I thought.
I had the yellow curry with chicken served with sticky white rice. Let’s just say it was the best thing I have tasted in years!! Super good I could eat that everyday if I lived in the area. 10/10
The chicken pad Thai is my favorite! They also have really good lunch specials
EXCELLENT FOOOD!!!!!!! Try it!
Food is very delicious. But the food portion didn’t match with price.
They are racist and the food was awful .. they do not like the black community
Very small portion for the price. For was just ok.
Went at 9:10 pm, she said it’s closed, it is actually closes at 10 pm. She’s didn’t care to apologize for sending us back. Had to drive for this. Don’t go after 8 just so if you want to proper service.
The food is great, but they have definitely downsized their quantities. Less curry at the same price.
Please open a location in Forney or Rockwall, damn this is good.
I love their lunch specials for 10.95. an appetizer and a meal..
Great food, awesome service! Totally recommend.
Loved it. Great food
Food was delicious and service was great.
The food taste good but the portions are too small for the price. I usually get full fast but not here.
Great place in very tasty food.
I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Great food and service.
Pad thai was good
If you are looking for a restaurant that goes all or nothing, this is it. When we first entered, the front desk welcomed us with a smile and showed us our table. The menu was beautifully crafted and was pretty much self-explanatory.
Based on our experience, we thought it was best to go with tempura spring rolls for appetizers. When we saw pineapple fried rice, we decided to pair it with tofu-based red curry.
Rarely you would come across a chef that can make you smile with food. We swept our plates clean in a moment. We had to close the deal with a dessert, so we chose sticky mango rice. It perfectly balances sweetness and flavor, although I prefer it sweet.
The ambiance was perfect. The staff was very attentive and catered professionally. This restaurant would make a great dinner date for a working couple on any weekday.
I picked up an order to go. I ordered chicken pad see-ew. Fresh and hot. Wonderful flavor and just the right portion size. Thai tea is yummy. My favorite Thai place.
Wasn't bad, but wasn't good.
I got pad see ew with tofu. Pad see ew is my go-to dish.
I was actually surprised at how few noodles were in the portion. I definitely expect more noodles for $14.
It tasted very vinegary, and even though I got 3/5 spice, it was completely spiceless. It didn't have the sweet, slightly savory flavor at all - just salt and vinegar.
The tofu was tasteless and soggy.
I've only tried one dish and ate there once. Im not likely to try them again, but thats why I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2.
Food very good. Great basil fried rice, addicting like chips, cant have one bite (hot Cheetos)
Yummy sticky mango rice very good. Sorry can’t esplain other than very good
PS very good
Dropped off our son at DFW and looked for Thai food. We went to Thai Monkey based on reviews and were very glad we did. This was the best Thai food we've had in a long time. Had the Thai dumplings, Volcano and Duck. All were very very good. Great service as well!
This place is consistently good, check it out today. I’d share pictures but the food is gone! Best papaya salad in irving ( that I’ve found)
Absolutely delicious and great staff. Place is a bit small but food makes up for lack of atmosphere. Highly recommend
