Restaurant address is on Merrick, additional parking is available in the back, just enter via Cartwright Blvd. Parking lot has different hour restrictions, read the sign carefully. There is a back door entrance to the restaurant. The restaurant is modern and clean. Service is very friendly and personable. Special happy hour from 5 to 8 pm for Monday and Tuesday for bites and booze. We ordered Pad See Ew which is noodles with chicken and Pla Rad Prig which is whole fish deep fried with pineapple. Noodles dish has plenty of flavor. The fish is very fresh, the sauce doesn't overpowered and I can taste the sweetness of the fish meat. The spicy level are made to order. Their spicy is authentic Thai spicy. Be conservative on how much heat you can take. They can bring out more spicy seasoning to add more heat if needed. Restaurant owner wants to keep the menu simple and will change their menu. If you don't see the dishes you want, just tell them, they may add your dishes later.
Originally posted on yelp 1/11/19. My friends and I have not had Thai food in so long. After reading over 5 different places on yelp we have chosen Nara Thai. We were greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in. The hostess was extremely kind and funny, and the place was super clean. It's such a cute little small place and we had to wait 2 min to be seated, it was fantastic. The food came on time, and THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS. I honestly loved their food so much and we will ALL definitely be back. I really appreciate how clean these place was and that's my #1 priority when going out to eat. They have met every part of my check list and I am super grateful that the staff was so nice and accommodating. We had Veera as our waitress/host ( I hope I spelled her name correctly) THIS WOMAN IS AMAZING. She talked with us, we talked about this restaurant, Thailand, and so many beauties of the world. She has a wonderful sense of humor and was so darn kind. I appreciated her so much and she is one of the main reasons to why my group had such a fantastic experience. We will definitely be back very very soon. Dessert was also amazing! I totally recommend you check them out! 11/10!!
Edit : we left the restaurant a few minutes ago and my friend left his credit card AND didn't even realize!! OUR wonderful hostess Veera ran it out to us in the freezing cold!! We could not be more thankful for her honesty and for her kindness! Veera, if you're reading this YOU are fantastic!!'
Went to Nara Thai, a new outstanding, Thai family owned restaurant in Massapequa. Everything was fabulous, especially the Panang Curry, which was to die for, and the spicy crispy chicken! Went with my son-in-law's Thai family who were all impressed with the authenticity of the food. Everything is freshly prepared, so expect a bit of a wait before you get your meal, but it is definitely worth it. They haven't had their grand opening yet because they are waiting for the liquor license. Friendly service and all in all very impressed.
Just finished eating dinner here & it was great! I got the red Thai curry with tofu & it was spicy & delicious. Definitely the best red Thai curry I've had on the island. The server was very sweet & attentive & I asked her to alter my meal & she was very accommodating. I will definitely be going back!
My friend and I went here for dinner on a Friday night around 6:30. The place was mostly empty, but the woman that was in the front of the house was delightful and so smiley. I ordered the traditional thai iced tea (which apparently they get their tea delivered from Thailand!) and green curry with tofu (mild) and it was so flavorful and delicious. The service was wonderful and the food was some of the best Thai food I've tried. Definitely recommend you take a visit!!
The first time I went to Nara, the food was great and the older guy who ran the place was nice. The first time I went back after it changed hands, the food was different than before but still good. The noodles were better than before. The next time I went back, the noodles were greasy and the taste was off. It was a huge disappointment. I gave them one more chance with some takeout and it was YET AGAIN totally different. They have zero quality control, ZERO CONSISTENCY. I miss the original owners, they had consistency and good food!
Great food. I always order curry and am never disappointed. Lots of Gluten Free choices - just ask your server for advice. Cozy place with personable service but also good for take-out. Nice wine by the glass selection.
Great service and food. The Chef creates dishes that are amazing and cooks duck to perfection.
Always great food and service
Great staff excellent food nice environment.
Great food and staff
BYOB !
Food is absolutely delicious! Authentic Thai cuisine. Definitely check it out.
They know how to do spicy! Food is exactly what I want out of a Thai restaurant.
Great little spot for Thai food. It's never overly busy. The food is fresh and the staff is always nice
Food was really tasty but it wasn’t fast . Customer service was good , stuffs were friendly . Worst thing was only one employee was working . They should have more stuffs . We had to wait long time for the food . Almost 1 hour .
On of the best Thai Restaurant in Massapequa!👍😇
Excellent service, the wait staff was incredibly friendly and made sure to keep us topped off. The food was amazing and they were considerate of my friend's allergy.
The restaurant was nice, the food was very good, the portions were perfect, the service just a tad bit slow... my recommendation is to call ahead and place your order before you arrived seems to be the better bet.

The food here is consistently very good. The best Thai place I've been to in the area for sure.
Absolutely delicious!!!
The Tom Yum was yummy!
The warm, beautiful owner and chef, friendly, accomodating to special and vegan diets service, reasonable cost, hard rock and jazz, makes a humble, neighorhood eatery shine.
Love it. Fresh great yummy food, decent prices, clean &friendly staff. I luv veg. drunken noodle. ( spicy broad noodles w/veggies )
Great food and quick service!
Food Was great! But, the serving was slowly. It can be wait more then 30mins. Hope will be faster.

Good food. Veera was our waitress and she was very attentive to all of our needs, and made sure everything was going well. Fried Ice Cream is also good.
Used to love this place but now it’s under new management and the food definitely changed for the worse. Pad Thai is pretty plain and the apps don’t taste the same. Unfortunately I’m going to look elsewhere now.
Great service & help with ordering... very nice atmosphere & delicious delicious food!
New owner
Service was great, food was fresh and delicious. Will definitely be going back.

Great food and great service. Lived in Thailand for years and it's really hard to find authentic Thai food, but Nara Thai is authentic and delicious.
Great food, Great service, I Love this restaurant
Food was delicious!!! The staff was super funny and nice too!
Very Ethentic Thai food. Extremely friendly service. Great Gem of a place.
Real Thai food, owners that are involved. Support the local establishment, place is great!!!!
Went there for lunch and the phone was amazing !!! Looking forward to coming back again, again, and again !

Authentic, fresh to prepare each dish, from coconut milk soup, chicken satay, salads, to perfect blend of genuine authentic Thailand spices, exceptional great thai dining and very hospitable, awesome for those who know the difference between the specialty of Thai food and Asian fusion.
Numerous great dining experiences at Nara Thai. It's quiet, good for a date night or conversation, and has great food and service

Surprising jewel nearby. Super friendly service and excellent Thai food. Don't be surprised my the inside of the restaurant, especially if it's not crowded.
It was a nice place, food was ok
Great time always, great food and staff!!

Having spent over a year in Thailand in the late sixties while in the Air Force I ate a lot of great local food, Nara Thai is so authentic it was like being back there. The owners are gracious and make you feel very welcome. Sawadee 😊
Great addition to Massapequa!!
Fantastic authentic Thai food!! Family owned and the care they take with both the service and food is obvious :) definitely recommend and super healthy/clean food!
Authentic thai cuisine inspired by thai dishes the owners grew up eating. The food takes time because everything is made FRESH! The wait for the food is not atrocious. Anyone that complains about the wait is being unreasonable. Nara is not a fast food restaurant. I personally enjoy my food that much more knowing it was not prepared the day before rather made as ordered. To expect fresh thai food but want it fast is unreasonable. My personal favorites are thai wonton soup (you've not lived until you've had this marinated meat homemade wonton soup!), gai garlic (any meat is superb), sweet thai basil (I prefer chicken), and the zaab wings have a kick but the spiciness is worth all the flavor and seasoning. When in season the mango sticky rice is by far the best I've ever had! Finally, the thai iced tea doesn't taste like it consists of nothing else but sugar. You can actually taste the tea. Simply delicious.
Do not allow reviews about the wait or customer service deter you from visiting. Nara is an experience not a dinner at Cheesecake Factory. If you want delicious, fresh, and authentic thai food, visit Nara, your taste buds will thank you.
Great service great place definitely need to come back.. food is awesome
Had the pad see ew and the beef gai garlic pepper, they were really delicious. Definetly worth a visit.

Its a fairly new restaurant - the food is really super delicious and we tried quite a few of the dishes there. The menu is well thought out and caters to a wide variety of Asian palates- not just Thai. The menu variety was appealing. It offers much more than just the curries. We had zaab wings and my 10 year old polished off the plate with nothing to spare. It was spicy but finger licking good. The house special - spicy crispy chicken was refreshingly different Thai food. The kids enjoyed the penang curry. At the end, we were stuffed happy campers. I am not the kind who experiments with new restaurants, but I am glad I did on this one. U wont be disappointed.
Authentic Thai food. The ingredients are fresh and the food are flavorful and delicious. Highly suggest this to anyone looking for a good Thai place on the south shore. Highlights included the Thai chicken wings, curry, and chive dumplings.
