Simple Thai cafe with a bar & Asian artworks, whipping up curry specials, stir-fries & takeout.
I had the pineapple curry (served in a pineapple!) It was decently spicy without being overbearing. We also got the coconut curry. My husband is a bigger fan of spice and he didn't think much of the spiciness level. I ordered pad Thai for the littles, and it was delicious! They ate it, which is high praise coming from their discernable taste palate.
What to say... What to say... Ah, of course... Absolute perfection.
Coming from Dallas, Texas, a city mind you that is absolutely teeming with incredible Thai food. Thusly it pains me so to admit that this might just be the best Chicken Pad Thai I've ever had... Period.
My group sampled just about everything else on the menu. Every curry was exploding with flavor, and every fried rice dish hit the mark. Even the Thai Tea and Thai Lemonade were fantastic. And the serving sizes? Ludicrously large. Easily three or more meals' worth per dish. I can't recommend this place enough.
This is the first time my siblings and I joined church youths to go out to dinner at the restaurant.
Karla Thai Restaurant has been a while, and we didn't expect this place to be very close to neighborhoods, highways, and our church!
Karta Thai gave us very nice each large dish. We ordered once or twice, and especially our favorite drinks!
I tasted the first order was Thai Eggrolls and Thai Fried Rice with Pork and level 1 of spicy.
I haven't tried fried rice meals with each level of spicy to be something good for me.
The menu itself is also very simple orders to choose at the lunch or dinner. Just like old times and spending time with your whole family at the old fashion asian restaurants.
We thank you for giving us a good dinner from last night! It was delicious! Call me Jason!
Business traveler who wanted some thai. I was the first customer in so I was a bit skeptical and may seem ghetto at first, but the staff and food were good.
My only disappointment is that they use sticky rice for their fried rice which is very unusual as it is a very different texture and taste than a traditional thai fried rice. However, the taste and portions were great. I enjoyed their spring rolls the most with their thai iced coffee.
Are you looking for tasty, fresh Thai food with amazing service? Look no further - this is the best Thai place around (we've tried them)! The veggies are fresh. The taste is best. The service is like none other - I once saw a server RUN to the kitchen! That's unheard of! Make your plans today - do not delay!

Got some food for takeout... I'm not sure if these other reviews went to a different place or what. The place looks sketchy as can be, but I don't judge a book by it's cover. Some of the best places I've eaten look like this.
Got the thai fried rice and jerky. The Jerky smelled awful, was slimy and chewy (and not in the way you want jerky to be chewy). The fried rice was... edible, but something about the texture had me grossed out the entire time.
Staff was nice, so I feel a little bad about the review, but I'm sitting here 2 hours after eating still feeling gross.
Great restaurant and affordable prices with good servings, I ate my rice in my dinner too
The som tam (green papaya salad) is the best I've ever had! I've tried other places that boast about making the best but it was nowhere near the flavor and quality of Karta Thai's! The shrimp pad Thai and egg rolls were delicious too!
Great food
Love this place. Really solid Thai food. Cheap beer too!

We were there opening day and it was great. Friendly staff, delicious noodles and veggies!
Usually food is very tasty. However the pad Thai this time tasted like chemicals and nothing like usual. I would love my money back. I stopped eating after 3 bites.

Love love love this place. Make sure to try the Thai custard.
Great happy hour. My favorite is the tofu in the curry. I will be back to try *all* the appetizers.
Place doesn't look like much but oh the food!!! Sooooo gooood!!
Soooo Good!
Ordered take out here. Looking at the place on the outside I was slightly skeptical of what to expect, but the food did not disappoint & service was great! Ordered the pad thai and I would highly recommend! Portion was very large also.
Great food. Nice people. Give it a try
Saddest cream cheese wontons I have ever had, barely any cream cheese and the wrappers seemed stale. Soup wasn't good either.
Usually we really like this spot. Tonight we ordered a dish level 1 mild and it tasted like a 5.. whoa! Super hot!
PINEAPPLE CURRY BOUT TO MAKE ME BUSSSSSST
Excellent flavor drunken noodles and friendly service. The only issue is that their hottest option isn't to a level to be called "Thai hot," though if you ask they will bring you extra chili oil.
My friends and I love Karta Thai! Everything tastes so good, the atmosphere inside is pleasant and comfortable and the food is just lovely. I'm a no-spice person and my friends like some heat in their food and they accommodate us all. Their drive up window is handy too!
Nice little place. Fair prices and standard thai/asian food offerings. Spice is on a scale of 1-5. My friend ordered a 2 and it was Spicer than my 3. Egg rolls were very yummy!
It's an amazing little spot that has so much flavor. A genuine taste of Thailand, food was perfect. Everything tasted great. I will expand on this place later when I go back.
Mido
Best Thai Green Curry in Roseville, but all of their curry's are amazing.
What to say... What to say... Ah, of course... Absolute perfection.

Service was great even though it was a dinner rush pretty much full house at 6pm. Crowd of doordash as well. 1 server working, got seated right away order came out promptly after placing it and it was so good. First time here, for me best spring rolls and sauce ever!!! Definitely going back!!!!
Awesome local restaurant, good taste, fast and good service. Huge portions!!! Come here for sure. I like spice level 2.
Amazing food and service!
The staff and management are very friendly. The food is great, flavorful and spicy if you like.
Everything tastes fresh, delicious and home made. Amazing food, and a great price for the portion. Couldnt be better! Get this place some michelin stars.
Egg rolls, spring rolls, and noodle dishes were excellent.
Very fast and friendly service. Delicious food!
Every time I come here it's a positive experience. The people are nice, the food tastes great, and they are very accommodating.
Locally run Thai spot with a great staff, good food, and a unique environment (it’s in an old Taco Bell, it’s kind of rad). Somewhat small seating space inside, but the fast service and limited menu with Thai favorites make it easy to order and have your food quickly. Was a fan when it was at 24 and Lowry, and happy to have Karta in Roseville :)
We had spring roll, cc wonton, and Pad Woon Sen. Everything was so good
Super good food! Place is actually cute on a sunny day - nice patio!
We found this with a Google search so thought we'd give it a try. for lunch we ordered just appetizers -- chicken satay and spring rolls -- and they are the best we've had anywhere. They have a wine list and full bar, and excellent food and service. We will be back!
This is my go to place for my favorite comfort food, pra rham. Love the staff and atmosphere. Food is excellent. Prices are fair.
Food tasted wonderful and the service was great! Even presentation was nice. Not always necessary. I liked that they had a smaller serving size for soups. I had the tom kha and crab rolls and Thai coffee and sticky rice and pudding. Very full and very tasty.
Excellent food my new favorite Thai
It was my first time here and the food was so good. This is authentic Thai food. I had drunken noodles which was my favourite. We also had green curry which was just right spicy and pineapple fried rice was also very good.
Didn't let the outside appearance of this place stop you. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended!
It's an unassuming location, and I wouldn't have found it without good, but the food was really good. Very large portion sizes (for me, at least)
The food is always tasty, I stopped coming here because the soup is inconsistent in the spice level. Today I ordered a three. Way to spicy, I would call this a 6 on a scale of 1 to 5 ridiculous.
Expect great food and service in what feels like a make shift Taco Bell.
Quiet place with really good Thai flavors. The Thai rice was great, the red curry was very good too!
Finally tried Karta. Wow! I almost hate to say how much I loved the food, service and plating. If they, get the business they deserve, I might not get a table. Ha! For us, medium spice was perfection. (Reminds us of our old favorite Lemongrass.)
We enjoyed our meal at Karta Thai.
They had lots of gluten free options clearly marked. The food was good with generous portions. We had shrimp pad Thai, Walleye in sweet and sour sauce, and red curry noodle. The shrimp pad Thai had a good amount of large shrimp. Everything tasted good and was presented well.
We weren’t sure what level spicy to get since many Thai restaurants often tone down their spice level, so we asked for It to be spicy and it sure was SPICY. We will probably tone down the spice level in the future, but that was our fault not theirs.
Service was great. When we mentioned the food was spicy, they came often to refill our water.
I also asked if they could make the Thai Tea with coconut milk, and they were happy to accommodate.
Good option for people with gluten free and dairy free dietary needs.
We ordered takeout on Mother's Day and were impressed with everything we ordered. The lobster fried rice was probably the best fried rice I've ever had. Big plentiful chunks of lobster throughout the dish complemented the wonderful flavor of the dish. The mango sticky rice was delicious as well.
Fantastic Pineapple curry & Thai iced tea 👌
Food is good but watch out for hidden fees. Karta Thai charged me a dollar extra for a "technology fee" when I called for take out! Only saw after I paid and got my receipt.
The flavors of all the dishes were wonderful! We ordered the soup as a 2 out of 5 and it came as a 4 out of 5, I would say. But still very tasty.
Really good Thai place. We had the green beans as well as the red and panang curries, and they were up to par. They have a bar, and tap beers are just $3 during happy hour. What's even better is that happy hour is 3-6 PM every day - including weekends! They don't use fish sauce or shrimp paste in their curries, so this makes it easy for vegetarians. Will definitely go again.
I got the spicy red curry noodles and shrimp. It was absolutely amazing! I got it to go. I walked i the door and it was ready in under 10 minutes. The flavor was amazing. I cannot rate much on the atmosphere as I was in there so briefly. For what I ordered I would highly recommend the food.
The amount of noodle soup is significantly less, and it is cooked too soft
Really loved the place. Starting from the service to the food everything was really great. And the price is great too, compared to some other Thai places with not great quality food. On top of that they have so many gluten free options! Definitely recommend giving this place a try.
Most incredible Tai ever!!
Best Thai food I’ve ever had!!!!
Our first visit here, but definitely not our last! I brought home leftovers and my son devoured them. Delicious!
Got take out and gotta say one of the best drunken noodles I've had in Twin Cities. Good flavors, good kick of spiciness, plenty of meat, and big portions. The only thing I found fault was the meat itself was bland; it's clear they don't cook the meat with the sauce and noodles. But absolutely recommend!
Husband and I ordered this as take out for a special date night and were very disappointed. The food was lukewarm and flavorless and overpriced. It put a damper on our evening.
Very good food and experience. They have some signature dishes that are excellent, such as the Gang Ped Duck and Pad Mango, but then they also do all the usual Thai standard dishes such as Pad Thai and Pad See Ewe and curries very well. We greatly enjoyed everything we tried and will be coming back routinely.
Everything is on point every visit I had. Food is good, service is good, atmosphere is good, staffs are amazing. Been here too many times to not give a review.
Consistently delicious, freshly made, and well presented food!
Quaint atmosphere, church pews for some seating, which really worked. Appetizers were great! Green beans, fresh spring rolls, and lobster rolls all very tasty. Quick attentive service. Tom yum soup a little spicy.
Such a great experience. They were all so very kind. The food was absolutely wonderful and even the decoration inside was so pleasing ☺️ Definitely a night to remember!
Ate here on Super Bowl Sunday at 5 PM. Very few people on that day. Service could not have been any better! Ordered our food and was at our table within 10 minutes! Ordered the spring rolls. They were good, four out of five stars. Ordered the seafood basil. Five out of five stars! On a hot spicy scale of 1 to 5, ordered a three, and it was perfect. You could taste the heat for a minute after eating the food. Next time I think I will try four, on the heat scale. I prefer food, hot and spicy and for the average person three would be perfect , the seafood basil had plenty of mussels, squid, and shrimp, with onions and peppers. My wife and I shared the spring rolls and the seafood basil, and were full when we left. Definitely a must try if you’re in Roseville. The staff were all friendly and smiling. It made our dining experience wonderful. The curry dishes were recommended, and I will definitely try them the next time I am there. The only reason I gave the atmosphere four out of five stars, is that it is a remodeled, fast, food building, and they’ve done very well to make it look as good as they have.
This restaurant definitely doesn't look like much. It's an old Taco Bell building. But the service and the food were both excellent. More food than we could eat and all of it was amazing.
Good food, love the jerky and sticky rice appetizer during happy hour!
This places has really good food, I got their pork pad Thai and their Vietnamese coffee and both were really good. The food came out very quick as well (5-7 minutes) The spice level does get pretty hot (this is coming from Minnesotan so take that with a grain of salt) but I got spice level 2 and I thought that was more than enough heat.
We ordered pineapple curry (presentation was amazing) and pad se ew. Both noodles and the curry were super authentic and hit the spot. Super authentic taste, and they even serve you chili oil on the side if you ask (that's my way to check if a Thai place is authentic or not 😁)
Overall, 10/10 experience.
great food
This place was very mediocre. I spent $70 for 2 pad Thai, one rice, and a beef jerky. None of the dishes were flavorful and everything was overpriced for small portions. They charge extra for protein of any kind with already high prices on the items. Way better Thai food places around. I do not recommend.
I can say the food did not disappoint.
The beef is not edible with how tough and chewy it is. I had to pick it out of the dish. Definitely not worth paying extra.
The noodles in the Pad Thai were overcooked/mushy and the dish was bland (brown sauce).
Beware if you just want a little spice; spice level 1 was still crazy hot and nearly inedible.
Everything was overpriced for the quality you're getting.
This small unassuming restaurant is a hidden gem. We had the green curry and found it excellent. I'm sure their other dishes are just as good.
Jasmine tea. General Tso.
I love love love this place! I discovered it through a friend earlier this year and have come back many times since. If I could rate them over 5 I would! They food is amazing and they really care about their customers! Some of my favorites are the som tum salad, curry basil fried rice, panang curry, and Thai iced tea!!
Ordered Drunken Noodle (rice noodle stir fried in homemade brown sauce with Egg, Tomato, Onion, Mushroom, Bell Pepper & Basil) Plus Spicy 🌶️ Level 3 and plus Beef ($4.00 extra) Sadly, the beef was chewy (over cooked) 😔 but the spice gave the veggies and noodles flavor. I would recommend eating in if they’re not going to send the beef out medium rare so it arrives tender.
Very tasty food. Authentic. Delicious
Delicious food! Their menu has a lot of dishes you won't see elsewhere and they are worth getting out of your comfort zone for. I had the Pad Gar Praw Kai and my girlfriend had the Khao Soi. Both were perfectly spiced and savory. I could have eaten the entire plate (which contained at least 3 servings). Service was also very courteous and quick, and the music provided a nice ambiance.
Amazing food
Would give a 10/10. Absolutely love this place. Highly recommend their Pad Thai, wontons, lobster rolls, and beef jerky and sticky rice.
We met for lunch and tried Karta Thai for the first time. The landscaping outside is so natural and beautiful, I can’t wait to return to sit outside (not when it’s 97 degrees).
We were greeted and seated immediately, ordered 2 appetizers and they came out pretty quick!
The crispy fried tofu was amazing and the sauce to dip the spring rolls in was delish. I ordered the Massaman Curry with tofu (extra spicy) and finally, after ordering spicy Massaman at many Thai restaurants, this one was actually spicy AND flavorful.
The restaurant is clean and freshly painted. The service was great, our server was attentive and polite. We can’t wait to throw Karta Thai into our lunch spot rotation more frequently!
Didn't dine in. Got the pineapple curry for takeout and it was some of the best Thai food I've had. My buddy got the pad Thai which was also incredibly delicious.
Inattentive and rude staff, people would come in and go and would get help before us even if we would ask for help directly, as well as the staff not washing their hands and touching their face when handling food. Never eating here.
My recent dining experience at Karta Thai restaurant left me with a mix of impressions. Let me start by highlighting the positive aspects of the visit. The restaurant's aesthetics were charming and well thought out. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance, complete with beautiful Thai-inspired decorations and comfortable seating arrangements. It certainly set the tone for what I hoped would be a delightful culinary journey.
Now, onto the food, which was the highlight of the day. The flavors of the dishes we ordered were exceptional. The chicken satay was succulent and perfectly seasoned, accompanied by a delectable peanut sauce that added a wonderful nutty richness to each bite. The Penang curry was equally impressive, boasting a harmonious blend of spices and a creamy coconut base that complemented the tender chicken and crisp vegetables. It was a truly enjoyable and satisfying gastronomic experience.
Unfortunately, one of the significant drawbacks of the day was the service. The slow service was evident right from the start when we waited 16 minutes for our appetizers to arrive. While it allowed us time to chat and enjoy the ambiance, it did leave us feeling a bit impatient. The wait for our main courses was even longer, clocking in at 30 minutes, which somewhat dampened our enthusiasm.
Moreover, during our meal, we discovered a small speck of lint floating in the dipping sauce. Naturally, we brought this to the attention of our server, who promptly apologized and replaced the sauce with a fresh one. It was a minor slip-up, but it did make us a tad more cautious about the overall attention to detail in the kitchen.
To top it all off, when we were ready to pay the bill, we handed over our card and waited for nearly 15 minutes before anyone came to retrieve it. Feeling a little restless, I decided to approach the front desk to ask for my card and check, which was slightly inconvenient.
Despite the service hiccups, the delicious food and pleasant ambiance saved the day, and I would still consider returning to try some of their other dishes. I do hope the management takes note of the service lapses and strives to improve in that area, as it has the potential to elevate the overall dining experience. With a bit more attention to timely service and ensuring everything is spotless, this Thai restaurant could truly become a hidden gem worth frequenting.
Best pineapple fried rice walleye all a 10
The jerky & sticky rice is amazing! Loved the green beans. Also enjoyed the mango sticky rice. Ate here twice in one week :)
The staff was very friendly, the service was fast, and the food was fantastic!!
The food was excellent, as was the service. This is a pleasant local, neighborhood, restaurant located in an intriguing neighborhood with historical ties to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campuses. Fortunately, we have friends in the neighborhood and will have opportunities to return.
One of the best Thai restaurants I have ever eaten at. Extremely flavorful spices and a wide menu selection will leave no one dissatisfied from the food.
They have a great drink selection to go along with any meal. 10 out of 5 stars if I could give it.
I am only sad that I can only have such excellent Thai food here in Minnesota.
Great food, family also enjoyed.
Delicious, not crowded. Friendly.
I love Thai food so my fiance and I decided to try out Karta Thai Roseville last weekend the service was fast and friendly but the food was not the best. Large portions but taste and texture was a little off. We both ordered chicken for a protein and it wasn't good. I ordered the drunken noodles and my fiance ordered the pad sweet and sour.
Phenomenal food! Their Tom Yum soup always makes me feel better when I’m sick. The flavors are out of this world. Not many places give me that home cooked feel but this is definitely one. Never had a bad or wrong order. These guys are the real deal, so authentic.
Quick service and the food is super authentic! Between 3 people we share the pad Thai (Brown sauce) with chicken, drunken noodles, 6 cream cheese wonton and Mango sticky rice. (Update- just went again yesterday 5/10/23 and I've added in the menu photos. The pad Thai was still good but not as flavorful as it was previously. Possibly different cook last night?)
Delicious fresh food, generous servings and beautiful plate presentation! Everything I have tried here was amazing. The mango and sticky rice dessert is out of this world
It was okay. The pad mango was really sweet. Like sweet n sour sauce poured over my veggies. It’s something I just could’ve made at home. The fried rice was better! I ended up not being able to eat anymore because of how sweet it was. Service was weird. We felt like we were being ignored. I don’t think it was necessary his fault. We kept trying to flag him down. Overall , I wouldn’t come back.
5/5! Super underrated! Had the fried Walleye with Thai fried rice and lobster egg rolls! 1 word…Delicious!!! Every time i’m in Roseville I come here!
I’m not sure how other think about the food here. But for me this is overpriced and the food isn’t that good.
I order the chicken wing, it taste ok so you have to use it with their sauce or it won’t taste good. But the price isn’t worth those small chickens.
Karta’s special is pretty much the noodle that they fried outside. Inside is some meat and noodle. The same like chicken, you need to dip lot of sauce to make it better taste. I think it is overpriced also for this item.
My husband order pad Thai and it is ok I guess. Good amount of noodle and meat but not the best pad Thai we have before.
I order their noodle soup and This is the first time I spend $15 and think What a wasted of money on the food. I ask for meatball and they told me it’s out. I was like this is the main item for Asian restaurants to keep in stock at all time. So I just said mock duck meat instead. Yup, I throw every piece of the meat out. It taste old and not like real meat. I tried two different pieces just to spit out each time. Noodle soup that has no meat and hardly soup and The soup is tasteless. I’m dumbfounded as how I’m eating here wasting my money.
The last is the desert, Thai custard with sweet sticky rice. The rice is dried and the tasteless custard is frozen and reheated it to serve. Still taste some spot cold inside. We spend almost $70 for this food that I could eat about 20% of food.
Not going to come back here. Too expensive overly priced and the food doesn’t even taste good. I would give 1 star and half but no option here. If not the chicken and pad Thai still edible. I would just put 0 star.
Really liked the pad Thai and pineapple fried rice
Great Service. Wonderful food. I had the special young coconut curry, I will have this again. Fresh vegetables and had the pork which was tender. Sandy's spring rolls as an appetizer was great.
First time getting food from here. We did take out: Green Curry with Chicken (heat level 3), Thom Yum soup (heat level 3), and Thai Vegetable egg rolls. Heat level was spot on. Curry had good flavor but needed a wider variety of veggies. Egg rolls were tasty but more sauce (only one half-filled cup) would have been nice. The big issue with the soup and curry was that the chicken was absurdly dry/over-cooked. Also, the pieces of chicken were larger than "usual" at most Thai restaurants. For the money ($34), we expected better. Still, we'll try them again but choose beef, shrimp or pork and hope for better results.
The food at Karta never disappoints!
He tried to act like I shorted him money because he didn't have enough change to exchange. Let him have the money but it would have been nice to have him explain he doesn't have any change to exchange.
Everything is delicious! Seriously-everything. I’ve been to this location as well as the one on Como, and I’m always impressed with the food! The staff are eager, friendly and speedy! Thanks for a great date night.
I've been to the Karta Thai on Como Ave and this location in Roseville provided the same level of great service and high quality, delicious food. I had the red curry noodle dish and the food arrived hot with the perfect amount of spice. Parking is easy in the lot out back and everyone was very friendly and helpful in making menu recommendations. Thanks for a lovely dining experience and I'll be back!
Nice service but the food isn't great. Been there a few times and each time I didn't finish my food. I only go if my friends want to go there. I usually end up eating beforehand and go just to hang out.
Requested the pineapple fried rice spicy and it was. Excellent presentation too. The Tom kha had tomatoes in it. I don’t like tomatoes in Asian food ever. It changes the taste of the soup dramatically. The satay was moist. The peanut sauce could have been more flavorful-it leaned very bland and a small portion. The coffee was strong. Overall the food was very good. I was very happy and I would return. They did turn up the spicy as requested which is always appreciated. The service was good as well for there to be only one person waiting.
