For centuries, throughout Southeast Asia, millions have enjoyed a common dish known as Hainanese Chicken and Rice. The dish has ventured from the villages of the Hainan Province in the South China Sea, all the way to the Global Ports of Singapore, Bangkok and Phuket. Thailand is where this tasteful dish evolved and grew with amazing spices and style to become known as: Khao Man Gai
Khao Man Gai has delighted millions all over Thailand; especially in Bangkok, the street food capital of the world. It has become a food haven for both locals and tourist alike who enjoy this flavorful dish. We bring the tastes and traditions of Bangkok, to the streets of New York City.
The food was really good! I got the steamed chicken with dark meat and green sauce. I got it with tomatoes, cucumbers, and corn. I got fried chicken to the side and the total was $20. The flavors were really good.
Unfortunately, they didn’t give me soup even though it was supposed to come with soup. They also didn’t give me the sauce that the fried chicken was supposed to come with. I was very disappointed by that, I should have definitely checked the bag sooner :/
I also wish this location served thai iced tea. I still recommend and will be back!
There was only one person giving out orders, and her attitude was terrible—rude and dismissive. Even though I gave her my name and order number multiple times, she made no effort to check for my order. I wasted a lot of time waiting, only to find out my order had been sitting on the cart the whole time. When I finally received it, she had the audacity to say, 'You should’ve told me earlier.’
I ordered a side of roasted chicken. The portion is ok. But it’s mainly chicken skin.
When you’re in the mood for Thai style fried chicken takeout, this place really hits the spot - I got the spicy fried chicken bowl, the chicken was really crispy and juicy and the green sauce was excellent - spicy enough to add some kick but it’s nuclear level that blows out your palette.
There are a couple stools for dine-in but this place is mostly for takeout - very convenient with the train so close by. Bonus points for the really friendly staff who answered all my questions.
Sorry. It is a no for me .I tried three different items and I didn't like it. The chicken wings were the worse. The wings had a horrible after taste as though they were old. Possibly freezer burn. Two wing and a half cooked wings and high sodium rice.
No.
I tried the steamed chicken and there were feather caps still on my chicken. I almost threw up
I give this place six months. The food is not appealing.
I miss Bennie's Thai restaurant. There steam chicken and rice with fish sauce on the side was delicious.
Indian guy Khalil was extremely rude I tried to ask him a question because I ordered the wing and fries combo, which used to come with whole wing not just 4 drums. He walked off and didn’t assist me. However the African guy did explain and fix order for me. However food is fresh and good. But Indian guy made my experience horrible
I love this place(Fulton) everyone there is awesome. If you have never been go and try it💖💖💖
Authentic Thai tasting Roasted chicken rice
This place was the worst place. I ever went in my life very disgusting food and very disgusting workers that can't even speak English and they are very disrespectful to the customer especially the black tall African worker he hardly could understand English. I asked for a refund also. And I could not get back my money up to a month. Now I have still not gotten by my money.I spent $30dollars .... If you want the worst experience of your life and want to be dissuspected by workers, this is the place
My food was hot and delicious and the staff were super efficient in having it prepare fast. Thank you Cherif for your customer service !
Food is excellent, service is superb, and price is great! Must have!

Spicy fried chicken is amazing. 5 stars for their fried chicken. Ginger rice is good too and their sauces as well.
Good food
Always warm and friendly, and some of the best quick lunch you can get in FiDi. Definitely recommend ordering in advance to bypass any lunch rushes
Food is always great. Good portion and most importantly, the people that work there are efficient and really friendly.
Amazing food
Feels like a home cooked meal
The flavor was ok, portion is a bit at the small side but manageable. However, I often feel that the rice is undercooked. Today I asked for extra sauce and was told that I have to pay $1.15 + tax for it... This place is very stingy. You have many other place which is more than willing to give you unlimited sides, like Naya and/or Chipotle. I like Gui Chicken, but will not be back.
Food was nasty and cold. I had the chicken and macaroni. Waste of money
Hidden gem in nyc. Really simple yet sooooooo delicious roast chicken. I love love this place and everyone must try. Yum yum😋 - Front door is really have so you’ll have to use all your strength to get in lol 😂 but it’s worth it 👍✅
Love the food but recently I have gotten issue with my order multiple times. Ranging from forgetting to give me soup or most commonly, giving me the wrong sauce.

I ordered in store. Waited for 5 mins. and the young lady who handled over food to customer told me the soup I ordered was not available. She saw me paid in the store, yet she chose not to tell me before I make the payment she offered no solution. So I’ve paid for the food price yet only get one out of two items that I purchased. I tried to contact the customer service for refund ever get back to me. I used to love the food, but apart from the soup thing this time the chicken itself was not even good. The chicken was super dry, and the portion was so little. never gonna go back
Their spicy crispy chicken is honestly so good. Very crispy and flavorful. My go-to to-go for lunch! I’m giving it 4 stars since they missed an item on my order and refused to give a refund.
Incredibly disappointing experience - ordered the roasted chicken platter - multiple side options were unavailable thus limiting what you can actually get. The chicken itself was essentially a serving of chicken scraps, most resembling bits of diced chicken. There may have been a single piece that was a normal sized piece of cut chicken. While the flavor of the dish was acceptable, everything else makes this a place to avoid - unsure if it's just this location or all the Gai restaurants. Way too many other options to have a meal at.
The food is very food!!! That green sauce is EVERYTHING! I always get the spicy fried chicken with chili lime fries and when I say it be on point! 10/10 for me! … More
Good food but they are very slow. Understaffed kitchen (just 3 people) and slow kiosk ordering. Only come if you have at least 15 minutes to wait. Nearly every other restaurant nearby is far faster. This place needs to learn how NY operates.
Simple, delicious, properly portioned meal. We need more places like this in NYC
Great service!
Very tasty fried chicken, fries, and rice! Quick and friendly service too! Very good prices. Lots of people get takeout but there are a couple of places to sit inside. I recommend the chicken tenders with fries or the fried chicken bowl with rice. The wings look very good too!
I used to be a fan of this place. But now the quality of the food has changed, I ordered roasted chicken But the chicken is so dry, not juicy. It wasn't like before.
The roasted and fried chicken rice platters here are top tier.
Best chicken, good portions and a fair price.
It’s the perfect balanced lunch.
Try it, you won’t be disappointed.
The best Hainan style chicken in a fast casual location here in FiDI that I've found. The lady who takes my order is always super nice and super fast when preparing. I order the white steamed chicken with white rice. The chicken and rice doesn't veer towards bland-it is so good and the ginger sauce is delicious. You have to-HAVE TO- try it yourself.

The chicken was very flavorful. Fried food + rice made a hungry man very satisfied.
Despite the impressive food, the service was bad. I felt unwelcomed by the man working at 5:20 pm on 5/12. He was always on the phone using his airpods.
There was another obvious problem - the door was too heavy. As a 5’11 man, I found it not easy to open the door. While eating there, another woman tried to open the door to get some food here, but she was not able to. She looked into the restaurant, looked at me, felt confused, maybe thinking it was closed, and started to walk away. I opened the door for her.
She stayed for about a minute, but the man was not serving her, still talking on the phone. She felt frustrated and left.
Really good. I've gotten the spicy chicken here 3 times.
Easy take out spot for fried chicken served with rice and a small salad. Service can take a while during peak times, but generally staff are friendly and helpful.
Quick to go place with delicious chicken!
I got the roasted chicken over rice. It’s good! And the sauce - yum!!
Finally a fast food Thai fried chicken spot with dark and white meat options along with steamed chicken and ginger rice. The food is always on point and the manager very kind and has a bumping stereo system with a dope play list. It’s more casual than somewhere you’d go on a date. I hope they stick around!
Update 2024:
Whatever that blip was where they were using some weird kitchen conjured up (no sticky and non Thai) Thai sticky sauce has been resolved!!! The og sauce back and the coating is even better. The kiosks suck as does toast. I’ve been double charged once and getting the refund was ridiculously complicated and the last time I ordered 3 items and was given one. I’d advise getting receipt at kiosk as the line worker printed the ticket which only showed 1 item but my bank showed payment higher than the single item. Ended up forgetting the third item so still overpaid. Hopefully they’ll complete the order next time
This place deserves more than a 5 star rating. I had the Fried Chicken with rice. The rice was flavourful and the chicken was tasty and most importantly crispy. The accompaniments had fresh vegetables and the sauce added more flavour to the chicken. I will definitely be back for more!!
Food wasn’t fresh and tasted like soap. Been eating there for a long time so defiantly didn’t see this coming.
The best simple and cheap Chicken Rice. A very strong influence of south east asian food.
Solid spot for chicken l.
So I just gave this place a try because I was walking in the area and desperately wanted some fries, boy did I make a great choice!
I got the zesty lime fries with the sweet chili sauce and ooooh so good if you like zesty, sweet+salty, and a little spicy!
The fries are basically mashed potatoes with a crispy outside! The sweet chili sauce is basically what you can just buy at the grocery store but still good.
Definitely recommend for a snack, just don’t kiss anyone after 😝
Rude staff working there
The portions are laughable
Compared to the prices of other places, it's pretty good. It's actually cheaper than what you'll see on Google. It filled me up, which is the most important thing...
Best Thai style chicken over rice
Fresh, good portions, tasty
Tasty food but don’t advertise a dinner special and not have it available on the kiosk with nobody who will help.
Great food & staff !
Bonne cuisine thaïlandaise qui constitue une bonne alternative aux burgers pour un prix raisonnable. La nourriture est bonne et copieuse (3 plats pour 2 adultes et 2 enfants)
Their roasted chicken over rice is always fire, great and light option when most lunch spots are fried and super heavy. Great deal with the 5% cashback on certain apps.
decent kao mun gai.
The chicken didn't necessarily taste bad but it was a little too "moist", and had a lot of veins in it which made it a little difficult to eat. I think it was a bit uncooked and I felt pretty nauseous after eating here so just be weary. The rice was good though.
The chicken here is fantastic and is always flavorful, filling, and fairly priced. Moussa, an employee who is often there, is always kind and inviting. He does a great job getting my orders out quickly and without error and is always working hard when I see him.
As Hainanese diaspora, so grateful for this fast casual option!! Thank you for nourishing us 💛
Just order the spicy fried chicken bowl and the was just okay. The rice was very dry and you can barely taste the ginger rice. The salad was fresh. The flavoring on the chicken was good but the piece of chicken i got was so small you can see 60% of the rice and thats with the all the garlic crunch on top. Thats pretty disappointing.
The "soup" it came with, forget about it. It literally was vegetable water with a hint of white pepper. Skip it! Don't waste the container. I also ordered the sticky wings. It was fried well and seasoned well but one of my wing was broken and a huge chunk was missing. Then it had feathers on it all fried in. I wonder if they washed it. Don't set your expectations too high for this place.
Delicious steamed chicken rice and a great deal. There’s been a bunch of these steamed chicken rice places popping up around NY and this is among the better ones.
Unique and delicious fried chicken and rice! The sweet chili sauce adds to the taste as well. Regular lunch pricing, not too cheap or expensive.
Food was ok but portions are small for 14 dollars and they don't take cash
Make your rice gluten free!
Interesting take on Thai food. Quick bites. Order on a digital screen and someone fills your order from a buffet type of spread. The rice was good and so were the fries. I preffered the steamed chicken over the fried. The fired was like regular chicken.
Was able to try samples before ordering and I must say the Roasted chicken over the ginger rice was absolutely delicious ! This will be my new lunch to go spot ! Staff was also friendly and professional.
Customer service sucked.Fries to greasy And stale

I miss Bennie's Thai restaurant. There steam chicken and rice with fish sauce on the side was delicious.
When I first went into the restaurant they had just open with in that week I LOVED IT Crunch chicken Ginger Rice Salad with the Perfect Mild Sauce 😋👌Can't go wrong .I wish it was More food for the prices but Still going to keep buying 🙃
This is a great addition to the neighborhood! I've tried several of the dishes, and really enjoyed them all. The rice is so good but my favorite is the spicy fried chicken with the green sauce. So so good! Also, the salad with the chicken and choice of sauce is going to be my go to.
Roasted chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had. It came with a spicy fish sauce and delicious rice and salad. Going to be a regular here, this place is a solid add to the neighborhood!
Great sticky chicken with a side of truffle fries. Chicken was crispy and tender, expertly cooked.
The worst chicken and rice I have ever had. First I had to place and order of wings and then order a side of rice as there is no combination option. Total was over $17. Waited 10 minutes for the wings and they were soggy, and undercooked. All they do is throw them in a dryer for a few minutes and drench them in sauce. Absolutely no crunch at all. The tiny portion of rice is literally 4 oz and was also very wet and soggy. This has to be the biggest waste of $17 ever. Place will not last 6 months with this kind of service.
New in the area, easy to order at the self service terminal and they get the orders out quick. Food is good not 100% authentic Thai but more than good enough.
Small portion but cost $15. Nothing special. Chicken tasted blank without the sauce.
FIRST!
Happy to have this new addition to the neighborhood. Steamed and roast chicken are excellent (no sauce necessary). The rice is good, too.
Efficient ordering and pickup.
