Casual Thai restaurant. Made from scratch, natural, and fresh ingredients. We do not offer lunch buffet anymore since 2019. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We had a wonderful dining experience here! The food was absolutely delicious. For starters, we had egg rolls and cream cheese wontons, both of which were crispy and flavorful. For the main dishes, we ordered pad thai, sukiyaki noodles, pineapple curry, and curry fried rice. Every dish was packed with amazing flavor, but the curry fried rice was the standout for me—hands down the best of the night.
The only issue was with the drinking water, as it didn’t seem clean, which was a bit concerning. Other than that, everything else was fantastic. I’d definitely come back for the food, but I hope the water situation gets addressed.
Had a pleasant dining experience at Nong's Thai Cuisine! The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Although I found some of the dishes a tad too salty and sweet for my liking, the overall taste was satisfying. It's definitely a place worth trying if you're in the area. Looking forward to visiting again to explore more of their menu!
Nong’s has been one of our favorite go to places for vegetarian Thai restaurants. They do cater to vegetarian patrons. Make sure you clarify ***no eggs, no fish oil, no oyster sauce vegetarian*** part to your server if it’s important to you - it is to us, so we always clarify this when ordering.
Overall, friendly staff - just don’t expect a five star service, as it’s pretty much on par with any other Asian/Indian restaurant. Food and taste is what we go for - again and again! We have introduced this place to many of our vegetarian friends and they all like it.
The food is okay. It was very salty this time around. The rice did not taste fresh. Some parts were soggy and some parts were dry and hard. What got me was the sausage. It was $10 and the portion was TINY. There were 9 pieces. You trying to tell me that each one of those slices were worth $1.11?? LOL. I usually love Laab but couldnt finish it due to how salty it was.
It’s one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Minneapolis. I highly recommend the curry’s. They have different spice. I always go by four of five and it’s not too spicy. They have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options with tofu. It’s very tasty.
The ladies in the service are very nice. They have a free parking lot outside. You can pick up food for take out. You can pay by card. You can make reservations in advance. The portions of big. It’s not too noisy inside.
I’ve had the sriracha fried rice here over 50 times. The same goodness every time.
Some of the best Thai food in MN 🖤
One of my fave places to eat at for sure 🙏
Delicious food! Pretty crowded but still good service.
Wow. Yum!
Yummy
Delicious authentic Thai food at a reasonable price. Friendly staff and Chilean wine!
We went for dinner last night. It was fairly busy, but we were seated right away. We ordered drunken noodles and sweet and sour shrimp. I am bummed I missed taking a picture of the meals. The quality of this meal was out of this world. I cannot wait to come back and try more dishes!!!
Regular customer. Food is always good. Portion size is good. 👍
Best Thai restaurant in the twin cities 😋
The food was delicious and the portions were quite generous. The staff were also nice.
I love Nong's. Their customer service is excellent, their portions are huge (I usually have enough for 3 meals) and they always make you feel welcome. There is also plenty of parking available. If you haven't tried Nongs I highly recommend it! You can also choose you level of spice.
Best Tom kha soup I’ve ever had!!
I ordered the stir fried mixed vegetables with tofu, Thai hot. While the food was flavorful, it wasn't spicy. I have often run into this at local Thai restaurants where the "Thai hot" isn't hot. Luckily, they gave me a small dish of extra spicy stuff to put on my own food and then it was relatively spicy - still not what I expected Thai hot to be. A couple people had the vegetarian egg rolls and said they were excellent.
We had six people and split it into five bills. The waitress took only three of our credit cards and ran them but ignored me and one other person. I eventually went to the cash register to have my card run. Because the service wasn't great, I didn't want to leave as much of a tip, but they consider a party of six to be a large party and automatically charge an 18% tip.
favorite place of all time. there’s so much on the menu and everything i’ve had is delicious. portions are great!
Wonderful Thai food. Great service.
This was the second time here and plan to come back.
staff, 10/10. food 10/10. cleanliness ESPECIALLY the bathroom 10/10. customer service 10/10. truly beautiful restaurant with authentic thai food. please visit
Food was great.
First interaction with the host when I walked in “ can I help you?” lol is this not dinning establishment??? Are the options not to dine in or take out?
I have never felt so unwelcomed in my life especially while being a paying customer. I love Thai food usually but I got home have been feeling itchy ever since. I did tell them about my mushroom allergies hopefully they listened….
Smaller place, so we felt rushed to leave after eating. The food was amazing and very flavorful. Big portion sizes.
Nong's Thai Cuisine is an absolute gem tucked away in a small shopping mall, and it's a real treat to discover. The parking situation is more than adequate for this type of venue, making it convenient right from the get-go.
The recent remodeling has transformed the restaurant into a clean and contemporary space, with plenty of room to move around comfortably. During our lunch visit, we noticed that while the service wasn't lightning-fast, the speed at which our food was delivered to our table was impressive.
The menu is a comprehensive journey through Thai cuisine, covering every combination you can imagine, all presented in a straightforward and uncomplicated manner. It's evident that Nong's is dedicated to serving up some of the finest Thai food in the area.
The presentation of the dishes is traditional, which adds to the authentic experience. What's even better is that the prices are incredibly reasonable, with an average cost of about $15 per person for lunch. And don't worry about portion sizes – they are generous!
Nong's Thai Cuisine is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious Thai food in a clean and inviting atmosphere. The combination of great taste, ample portions, and wallet-friendly prices makes this place a standout. We can't wait to return for another satisfying meal
Always wonderful food! Love the peanut egg rolls and the pineapple fried rice. No bad food here.
The curry puffs were amazing (a little pricey for what you get). The drunken noodles were better than the pad thai to us, we felt the peanut flavor was too mild for pad thai!
Service was veryyyyyy slow so don’t come if you are expecting them to take your order and bring your check in a timely manner (waited 30 minutes after plates were empty for a check to be brought. They weren’t busy and never brought it. We eventually had to get up and tried to pay at the front but they sent us back to our table). We were never checked on once after receiving food either.
Customer service is too bad. Server took 30mins to come and collect the order, food took like an eternity to come and the taste was also not that great, they used to server better good earlier.
Always clean, food tastes amazing, will go there again and again...
So delicious! We had relatives in town, and my parents always go when they visit us, so we decided to take our family from Florida here. Everyone thought the meal they ordered was delicious (ranging from curry, stir fry, soups, and appetizers). The best part was how amazing it smelled walking into the restaurant. Highly recommend.
It’s one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Minneapolis. I highly recommend the curry’s. They have different spice. I always go by four of five and it’s not too spicy. They have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options with tofu. It’s very tasty.

Great food. Decent prices. I have mostly taken the food to go but the few times I have dined in the service was fast and friendly.
Very sad this place was my absolute favorite place to eat. I could eat here 5 times a week and on a couple occasions did just that. I don’t know what happened but the last few times I have gone in the food is of much lower quality. The vegetables are now frozen instead of fresh. The asparagus used to be a deep healthy green instead of paleish yellow. And also I no longer recognize any of the staff, though they are still very friendly and the wait staff are great. This sounds like a scathing review but that is only in light of how good it formally was. It’s not bad, it just is not good as it was…
Thank you for reading.
Not a fancy restaurant but food, is excellent Pad Thai and drunken noodle are amazing👍
Hands down the best Thai place around this area. Tried their curry chicken fried rice it is delicious and highly recommend. The staff is helpful and changed tofu to chicken when they took wrong order. They are friendly and helpful.
LOL. It was very busy but didn't wait long at all. The food here is excellent with decent size portions.
Haven’t had anything that I didn’t like. Pad Thai is great. Fried rice is second to none. Fresh and clean.
Outstanding little hole in the wall Thai joint. The pineapple fried rice is a family favorite. I personally like the red curry. Every time we eat here the food is great.
Great place. Penang Curry is AMAZING
Best Thai food in the east metro
Not what I expected....left unimpressed.
The good: clean restaurant, kind staff, and good service, fresh ingredients.
The bad: The food is super bland, I ordered chicken vegetables stir fry and rice with spicy level 2/5. I don't think they even used salt or pepper.... I'm not sure how they can call this Thai food.... Steamed veggies and bland chicken with something I could make at home any day of the week....and it was $18 for a dish, tip not included!
A gem in an unexpected place.
Excellent food! Fast, friendly service. Nice dining room. Very often busy.
Love this place.
Food was nasty went with my kids they were hungry and eat the chicken ,rice was very mushy like Suggy ! Not once did someone check on up about the food ! Customer service was horrible ! Don’t go there it’s a horrible overall experience ! Pad Thai was raw like noodles were not cooked or soaked ! The worst Thai restaurant there is !
This is one of my wife and my favorite restaurants. Food is always delicious and fresh, and the staff is very friendly. My favorite is the basil stir fry, but the tamarind stir fry is also really good. My wife usually gets the Tum Yum. My son always gets the deep fried squid. It's always very fresh and you can tell they replace the oil regularly
Really order anything, you can't go wrong.
Definitely one of the best Asian restaurants I've been to. Their curry is amazing. Their Thai Tea is a huge disappoint however because the ice is over half of the cup while the tea itself is just 1/3 of the cup, and it being leftover tea tastes like nothing compared to Thai Tea I've had from other places.
Great lunch .
Love the food
Nong’s is an incredible spot for Thai food! Their dishes are bursting with authentic flavors, and their spice levels are always on point. What makes them stand out is the consistency of the food—whether it’s the classics like Drunken Noodles or Pad Thai, they deliver perfection every time.
First time there we ordered the calamari, it was too tough to chew so we sent it back. The Thai sausage was served with raw peanuts and raw slices of ginger, no dressing. The Drunken noodles had a tasty flavor but the chicken pieces were too large and tough. The service was excellent.
Delish. Great spot for tasty Thai dishes.
We are so fortunate to live so close to Nong's. We enjoy the green curry and Tom yum soup.
AMAZING EGG ROLLS with AMAZING PEANUT SAUCE🌹🌹🌹 A new FAVORITE in addition to Que Viet in Brooklyn Park/ Brooklyn Cntr🌹🌹🌹 Hvnt gotten to trying my green curry yet!
Always delicious!! Best Thai in town
This place is an absolute legend. The food, service and atmosphere were amazing. Make sure you try this wonderful gem if you're looking for the best Thai food around!
This USED to be my go to place for Thai food in the area. Honestly some of the best pad thai I've found in the local community. I’ve ordered here many times in the past because I live about two blocks away. The last problem I had ensured I’d would not return here. I had an issue with the crispy beef appetizer and only received 3 small pieces of severely over cooked beef that came out like beef jerky. when normally you receive generally 6 beautifully fried and sautéed slices. I called and asked what may have happened and was told that all the beef was all there. At which point the employee literally said are you sure you didn’t eat any on the way home? 😂 seriously? when I told him I didn’t eat anything. I asked if they could remake the order if I returned it and showed them the missing portion and how overcooked it was. They said no… The guy just wanted to argue and made me feel disrespected as a repeat customer. Foolishly I paid cash (and tipped. I also ordered 2 other entrees which had no issues with admittedly.) The most he or management were willing to do was refund me with the return of the food, which I was more than happy to do at that point. Basically I was treated as if I was attempting to scam the restaurant out of couple little slices of beef, rather than the restaurant admitting any type of mistake they made. If the food came to my table that way you’d admit the mistake but because it’s take out order you will not? Come for the food not for the service.
The chicken pad Thai was too sweet for me, but I will go back and try something else on the menu.
Best Thai food ever!
Delicious!!
So good! Only reason I'm not giving five stars is because the curry was sickly sweet. I have a big sweet tooth and this was even too sweet for me!
Great food
Very nice place.
I met a friend here for a late lunch. I was surprised to find a wait list and a full restaurant. This speaks volumes about their food. We both had the green curry, and it was exceptional. We stayed several hours to chat and never once did we feel rushed to give up our table. This is a classy place with consistently great food. I highly recommend.
We have been here multiple times; Food is good. They have new staff who is Unprofessional. We will not be going back there again.
This place is worth trying if you enjoy Southeast Asian food. I'm on the lookout for authentic Southeas Asian spots, and this one stands out. The service is exemplary, with attentive staff who regularly check in. The spring rolls and curry puffs were tasty, and there are solid options like stir-fry and fried rice. My only minor concern was the spice level; despite requesting a hotter dish, it was mild. However, they promptly provided chili oil to adjust the heat. Overall, a great find for authentic flavors and excellent service!"
We visit here every week and this place is a must try if in minneapolis. The curry puffs are yum and pad thai and drunken noodles are both great.Their staff is super nice!
Amazing food, but disappinted about one thing... friends and I ordered for the first time thinking the pineapple fried rice came in a pineapple bowl like the pictures suggest, but apparently, it does not when you do pick up. (Do you have to request it?)
Friendly staff, large portions, and nice decor make this a pleasing experience, albeit the prices were a little higher than expected.
Delicious food
great employees & great food! my family has probably ordered from here 35 times no exaggeration & every time it is the exact same - hot & fresh, flavorful, & generous portions. the drunken noodles, papaya salad, & fried rice are my favorites. they are made gluten free too which is a bonus!!
The food is awesome!
The restaurant is located in nondescript mall near a gas station. Despite this uninspiring surroundings, the place was full even on Monday night. The menu has a lot of Thai staples like curries, various Fried rice, pad thai, and so on. We tried Tom Kha soup with shrimp and Rama Delight curry. Both were very good, authentic, portions generous. The service was quick and friendly.
I do have other Thai Restaurant in the area, which I love very much, but I think I will be back to this place again.
This is one of the best Thai restaurants in Minneapolis. The fried rice and pad Thai noodles are both amazing. I like to add tofu to both. I usually get take out but the atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely. The prices are average as the food is not too expensive or cheap.
This plays kills it in every category. I like spicy food and their hottest spice is hot without sacrificing taste
This place was great, seemed to be under staffed but they hustled and got us in and fed
Food here is fantastic! You can really taste the fresh ingredients and the sauces are divine. Will definitely be coming back!
Great place to eat
I like pad sew lu kinda sweet, this place is totally new. The food was good. The mango sticky rice was perfect
Best food ever,
Fresh and delicious
Called on 7/5/24 and they no longer offer a weekday buffet/buffet
The food was freshly cooked and the ingredients were also well seasoned. Service was prompt and helpful and the speed was adequate, maybe because we had gone at a time were it wasn't busy.
Recommend it at 100%....
I spent two months in Chiang Mai earlier this year, so I had a craving for authentic Thai food, and Nong’s delivered! Refreshing chicken and veggies, and the staff cracked me up! Topped it all off with a Thai tea that brought me back to my trip. Highly recommend for a wonderful experience!
Very nice place but we were asked to leave right after dinner
Definitely going back.
Everything is delicious, love the pineapple fried rice, red curry with squash, chicken satay!
Great food that's not too pricey, went for lunch on Monday and got in just before rush. Most orders are more food than any one person should so expect leftovers!
Really good Thai
Absolutely amazing. Everything I've tried here has so much flavor!
Great food. Large portions. love that nearly everything is GF! Friendly and attentive staff and enjoyable music (mostly Pop)
Good place, good food
Easily the best curry around. The staff is friendly, and they all work together. Would rate this higher if it was possible.
Absolutely love the food here. Pineapple curry is amazing.
Highly recommend 📢
Our waiter was so friendly and attentive, we really loved him. They have amazing starters - Easily the best egg rolls and the crispiest wings I've had! The food was just fantastic.
Almost forgot the restroom, so neat and clean!
The food is absolutely AMAZING. the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever tried, however the service is very unpleasant which unfortunately makes it a bad experience
I've dined at Nong's Thai Cuisine multiple times and it's consistently fantastic! The staff are always hospitable, making each visit enjoyable. The food is excellent, with favorites like pad Thai noodles and red curry standing out for their authentic flavors. Be aware that it can get busy, especially during peak times, so consider visiting during off-peak hours to avoid a wait. Highly recommend for anyone craving great Thai food in Golden Valley!
Nice little restaurant in Golden Valley. Everything was good- the wings and egg rolls were fresh and crispy. The basil and pineapple fried rice were great. the ambience was clean and cute.
Hands down my favorite Thai restaurant in the twin cities for over 10 years. My only complaint is I don't live closer!
Man this place is a hole in the wall but it's soo good! Loved the food, the yellow curry with potatoes and onions was delicious. Wish I lived closer, I'd come here more often!
We really enjoy the food here. The portions are very generous (we always have leftovers), the prices are reasonable, and it’s darn tasty. Our favorites are the red curry, pad thai, drunken noodles, and sriracha fried rice.
This is our go-to spot for Thai food! It's usually busy, but they're very organized for to-go orders and accept them both online and over the phone. The red and yellow curries are our favorite and the egg rolls are great, too.
We started with the chicken satay, cheese wontons, and curry puffs. The curry puffs were especially good, bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. For our main courses, we ordered the siracha, yellow curry, and basil fried rice. Each dish was delicious, with the siracha curry standing out. The basil fried rice was well-seasoned and paired wonderfully with the siracha. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Highly recommend!
I have ordered the same soup each time and this time, I received the wrong soup. I don’t live close and when I got home I saw it was the wrong soup.
The lady behind counter argued with me on the phone and said that is what I ordered. I offered to return and get the correct soup or dispute the charge. She finally agreed. When I went back she told me there were cameras and I said good. Cuz then you can see me pointing to correct soup. She said she does not read only listen. Check your order, cuz I have never ever been treated so rude as if I ordered something wrong for fun or what? Seriously??
In response to the owners remarks, when I called to say the order was incorrect, I did not yell nor act rudely to your employee, but the women at the counter that answered and took the original order, began to yell at me on the phone stating that is what I ordered. She would not listen nor give me any options to return the soup. I said DAMN, mainly because I was treated so rudely and was tired of getting yelled at. If you were on the phone you would have known what I said. And when I returned with the soup she continued yell at me that I was wrong very loudly in front of other customers. I saw the owner (you), and you did nothing to stop her from yelling. So you accept this behavior?
No other restaurant in the Twin Cities would treat their customers this way. Think about that.
Food is great, services have been sporadic.
I was pleasantly surprised. I've eaten a quite a few Thai restaurants and was prepared for bland food, but the food was excellent.
The restaurant was clean and relatively modern. The staff is friendly and helpful. And the food, well, it was great.
I highly recommend the red curry or the pineapple curry, but everything is good.
The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because of the price. For 2 people for dinner it was over $80, which I think is a little expensive for this style of restaurant.
Very good Thai food. Large menu with a variety of dishes. Good portion sizes and fair pricing. Have gone a few times with small groups, everything has been very good. Noodle dishes, Curry dishes, and of course pad Thai. The restaurant does fill up during lunch hour, so I'd recommend getting there a bit before noon.
So much attention to details here. Great service and food. They were all so accommodating with smiles and quick responses to every need. This was our first visit. There were 5 of us with a toddler. We will definitely be back! We had the yellow curry with chicken, squash curry with extra vegetables, vegetable dish with tufu, beef and broccoli, spring rolls, and egg rolls (all with white rice). We would do it all over again with the same selections!
Amazing panang curry, great portions!
Absolutely fantastic food! Every. Single. Time. I have yet to be even slightly disappointed with anything here. We have always been well taken care of with the wonderful staff. I would highly recommend Nong's to everyone!
Update:
It's been several years that we've been coming here and everything is still great! The service was exceptionally good this evening. Even with a clearly busy dinner rush, it seemed like we got our food before we ordered it, and our drinks were always topped off! Great food delivered with even better service!
This is a hidden gem, excellent Thai food in an easily accessible setting. Large portions!
The food here was absolutely delicious. Best Thai food I have had in the twin cities area. It was very busy, but the servers still were able to make it a pleasant dining experience. Will be returning!
Always great food and lots of it. Fun to try something new...the tilapia. Delicious!
