Bai Mai Thai, we are committed to bring the freshness and deliciousness through our food. We now open Monday through Friday from Noon 12pm - 8:30 pm and Sat 3:30pm - 8:30pm. Please Note: Usually our preparation time is 30 minutes, however, during our peak hour (normally between 5:30pm-7:30pm) will extend to 45 minutes. Thank you
Not so authentic if you asking me as South East Asian person who loves Thai Food so much. I ordered their Thai Fried Rice, thai curry puff and seafood tom yum.
The thai fried rice to wet-ty and too much soy sauce. Curry puff too blant and the dough not so tasty. The seafood tom yum kinda a savior for my visit. Feels so fresh, sour, sweet and spicy perfectly.
But, eventho the food not so great, I still give four stars because the service as usual, Thai people never failed on giving the best service in F&B industry. They are the best !!!
My bf and I have been here multiple times and each time, the food was always so flavorful and fresh. The waitress there is literally the sweetest and very knowledgeable about the menu. This is definitely one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve been to and I would highly recommend coming here.
Ordered via DoorDash on a Saturday night at dinner time, but I had my food within an hour. They were very smart and wrapped the dish with plastic wrap, which kept the noodles hot and moist! I wish all Thai restaurants did this.
The portion was huge! Well worse the price. They also honored my special requests for the dish. There was so much food I ate it over two days.
The spice and flavor was excellent! And the noodles were cooked perfectly.
I work in the area so this used to be the place to go, but I was off work and I drove all the way to Downtown Detroit because I was craving Thai food. I order Pad Thai noodles, got home, the noodles were stuck together I had to add water to loosen them up, I had one shrimp, two piece of crab meat and two scallops, no vegetables and the noodles were hard. I called and she said she would give me some extra sauce when I explained I’m not driving back 30 minutes for extra sauce she said I’ll give you 15% off your next order, what? I told her but the food I have is not edible. I told her I was doing a review and she chuckled wow welp they have lost my service and most likely my job service as well.
This has been a regular stop for us for almost a year. The food is excellent, but has declined in quality slightly since we first found the place. Unfortunately they are just chronically understaffed. The one waitress we really liked quit a while back and service just went right down the toilet. Based on that I wouldn't recommend them for dine-in anymore. Portion size and value for the money is unmatched, though.
Our online order was placed at 7:20pm "ready at 8pm" but when we got there we sat around until 8:40. I'm not exaggerating, 40 whole minutes.
I ordered pad Thai with extra vegetables and got a disgusting pile of noodles sitting in a pool of oil, and no vegetables at all.
Despite being starving, I threw it right in the trash. Never again.
Food was pretty good. Took longer than expected but that was no biggie. I’d definitely be back.
Best Thai food in the city!
Asked for no spice, even emphasized NO SPICE because I have stomach issues. Usually everything is on point, but lately I've been disappointed. I pick-up less often. Will probably stop eating here
Cashew chicken is 😍 amazing!
Best Thai Ever
Delicioso!!

Nothing but the best service! Friendly, knowledgeable and just a pleasant staff. Owners could provide a better storage solution for the staff so it does not appear so cluttered. Food is by far the best Thai around.
Please be patient when attempting to place an order by phone. Don’t get frustrated if they don’t answer immediately. They only have one employee working the front counter, so online ordering is the only option unless you visit the restaurant to place your order. Trust me, the food is excellent and worth the hassle.

Stopped in for the first time after attending an industry event downtown. It was on the way home and decided to give it a try. Very cool place, with an old-times authentic decor and feel. Like many similar places, they have a labor shortage and politely notified this point upon walking in. That was a nice touch. Tried a few different items, and the portion size is very favorable for the price, so I would rate this as a very good food value. Definitely worth a try for either dine in or carry out. Would have no problem coming back to this location.
Love the food and service. I've dined here for years and will travel from the other side of town to get!! F7, F2 and S2 seafood are my favorites for years but Im gonna after to branch out after looking at these pictures and try other menu items. Hahahahahaha
I ordered a plate that comes with vegetables chicken and only got a plate full of rice. No onions no veggies no
Nothing. Sent it back and it still was not right
Good food in Detroit
I love this place. If this place has no customers I'm dead. They do their best to give good service with limited staff. And it's THE BEST FOOD.
The absolute best thai food in the area! Food is always fresh and made to order o e of my favorite places

We took carry out. All the food we ordered were delicious. Great vegan options. Will definitely return.
My wife loves this place so whenever she wants Thai food this is where we go
Uber eats food was disgusting - never again
best thai in detroit. everyone complaining about customer service doesn't understand. this is one of those places in the sweet spot of blunt and to the point service; where your food is fantastic because they spend their energy in the kitchen performing magic. this place is awesome and i couldn't ask for anything else but slightly cheaper prices 😭
edit: lowering to 4 stars for their new phone system
Food is delectable
excellent food, nice thai atmosphere
Everything we ordered was excellently flavored and presented. It was fast in spite of their staffing shortage. Highly recommended!
ALWAYS a large flavorful portion!
Food is great. There is ever only 1 waitress so it is pretty slow. In all fairness, it moves pretty quickly considering there is only 1 waitress doing the job of 4.
Loved the Noodles. Generous portions full of flavor.
I ordered take out. The food was fast and hot, but simply inedible. I had to throw it away. I had two bites. The veggies were fresh. The red curry tasted more like pepper than red curry. It tasted sour and old? Wild. I don’t know where there is good Thai food in Detroit, but this take out wasn’t it. I hope maybe I ordered on an off day?
This place checks off all of the boxes. Hospitable service always, food is EXCELLENT and portions are GENEROUS. And the prices are honestly beyond cheap for what you receive.
This is the perfect combination of exceptional food and price.
The only Thai place we will eat at here in Detroit.
Food is delicious and service is wonderful!

Really good!
Good great
Food is good
Love the Spicy Spring Rolls!
Food was fresh, hot, and made to order. I give it a 10/10 and the price is reasonable. The amount of food you get is worth every cent.
Very disappointed the food is more hibachi than Thai, was overcharged. Than told oh we updated the menu but have no updated menu to show! Very dry, i had no fresh veggies. Very basic...
Love the food, great atmosphere and service. Have been visiting these place very often and never disappoints. Quantity of food is more than enough. Quality of food is always very good. Highly recommend this place, definitely a hidden gem.
Most authentic and flavorful Thai food I've had since moving back to Detroit. One would never know from the stripmall, black out windows in front that there was an amazing restaurant inside. This place deserves a new facade that matches its incredible cuisine. Only one woman was working the front of the house and she was exceptional, but they could probably do twice as much business with an extra hand or two. That being said, good help is hard to find and they keep a well oiled ship regardless. Highly recommend if you live downtown and need a good Thai go to. Certainly the best I've had - just be a little patient with service and remember to tip. You can tell these folks put a lot of love in what they do.
One of my fav Thai spots in Detroit. Can get busy and only a couple people working but well worth a short wait !!
I ordered spring rolls and Tum Yum soup no protein….I wasn’t impressed. The spring rolls had a weird taste to them…the dipping sauce was standard…everything tasted cheap. The mushrooms and bell peppers in the tum yum soup were old. They could have used better ingredients. Cheap ingredients…
Oh.My.God.
Great food and friendly staff.
The garlic fried rice and drunk noodles was so good
The main reason for the low rating is the mandatory 18% tip for our party of 3 given the lack of service and the fact that the menu said that the mandatory tip is for parties of 4 or more. I usually tip more even with poor service but the fact that they forced it on us is not right.
Some food was ok. We ordered pad thai shrimp, red curry chicken (#1) and green curry pork (#18). Pad thai shrimp and red curry were ok. The green curry was too sweet and the pork did not taste fresh.
Good food when they decide to give you decent portions. I usually order vegan fried rice which comes with tofu. However I only got two small cubes of tofu and like 2 pieces of the other veggies. I asked for a refund but was only offered 5% off. I usually pay for extra veggies because the portions are so small but at $15 I think I should get a decent meal not just rice. Not driving 25 mins again unless I can get a my meal redone
After living down here for 3 years, this is the best thai food i have had anywhere. You get a lot of food for a normal price. They are very understaffed so you may have a long wait but it is always worth it. The lady in the front is always nice regardless. Also the spice levels are strong so be warned lol. We always get the pad thai and pad see ew.
My favorite Thai restaurant in Metro Detroit.
I love this place. Delicious food consistently, with a good amount of heat. Decent portions.
Got takeout. Food was great, but I recommend removing food from styrofoam take out containers as soon as you get home, I noticed my container starting to disintegrate from the heat
The best Thai food in Detroit by far. Will not go anywhere else
Great food, I highly recommend the Pad Thai curry.
I LOVE YOU BUT PLEASE STOP USING STYROFOAM TAKE OUT! IT MELTS INTO MY FOOD. This gives people cancer. Please consider alternatives. Sincerely - a big fan!
When it's bust, you'll have to wait. But, the wait is so worth it. Food is amazing, just have a couple drinks while you wait😉
Food was excellent. Drinks were strong and delicious. I'll be recommending this great family owned spot.
Some of the best Thai food in metro Detroit.
This place is amazing. I’ve had it twice in this week and it was so good both times. The lady at the counter was so sweet despite being all alone. I don’t know her name but she was very kind and helpful when we came in for takeout. Please be patient with her! Great food and flavor.
Slightly over priced but it was damn good
Some of the best Thai food I've ever had! I like things spicy but medium heat was perfect.
Ordered Drunken noodles with fried tofu, spring rolls and basil fried rice with chicken. Delicious food for the price. Altogether costed only $30. I took a take out but their sit in ambience is great as well. I love the accuracy of their automated phone AI taking order . Even it was able to detect my thick accent without hassle. Definitely recommend if you’re planning to hit the Greek town casino nearby.
Haven't dined in since pre plague, carry out ever since. Nice staff and always good food. If spice adverse, make sure to let them know.
Love it, best Thai cuisine in Detroit! Always good and fresh.
Love ot
This place is the BEST. Get the chili noodle with steamed tofu. Love the great food, responsive service, and lovely atmosphere.
This is one of my favorite thai spots. The food taste amazing and the portions are more than you can ask for. Try this spot you will not be disappointed.
This is one of the best Thai restaurants in the city. However, customer service is not the best. This is the reason for taking away one star.
Great food, atmosphere & service
This was the Thai restaurant in Detroit that I was looking for. This is as real as it gets. There might be a wait, so its best to order in advance, but I got exactly what I wanted here and the food did not disappoint. Well done.
Fabulous. We loved everything about this place. The food is the very best Thai we have found. Highly recommend
First time here, we enjoyed our meal and had a great experience 😊
$30 to park just so I can eat dinner there ? No thank you.
I guess I'm gonna stop from being clean. That's about it. Spicy food, pumpkin spicy with full of sugar with no spice 2 for $15. That could have kept it. Do not go there. I thought the first time I went. It was a bad day but there's the second time never go there again
The food is always awesome.i love it, my favorite restaurant.
So good! I've tried several dishes. Authentic food prepared with love. My favorite is the Garlic Shrimp Fried Rice w/Chicken!
They recently opened up their dining room for dine-in. When I lived in Detroit I'd go here all the time, now that I've moved out is still my #1 thai food spot.
AMAZING thai food at such a reasonable price. They’re short on staff, but they keep things moving! The pad thai curry is amazing.
We were very happy with the food.
We order spring rolls, and 2 different Pad-Thai. The “mild plus” was just the right amount of a “kick” for us.
Flavors very very nice and distinct.
We will be going back.
The vibes in here are amazing. Very cozy booths. Great food! Very kind people
We love this place. Not much Thai food near us, but this is walking distance. The boss/cook is a pro & the menu is surprisingly extensive. I wish she could bring back the N7, but there are many great options.
Food is decent. Good prices. Service is a bit slow
Presentation and taste of food can use much improvement service must be requested I guess there short on help
Update 8/31/2023: I am amazed by the efficiency of the beautiful female manager/carry-out worker. I wish I knew her name so that I could thank her properly. I stepped into a wild dinner rush, but yet she calmly handled the chaos with impressive calm and focus. In my past life I worked in a Thai restaurant and wanted so badly to roll up my sleeves and help out with the rush! My food was fresh, hot and ready, and as always nothing short of amazing. Appreciate the consistent quality and authentic Thai soul food that I am grateful to enjoy every time I order from Bai Mai Thai. Memories are a powerful thing, and you all bring back through each bite those memories I cherish.
Had a most outstanding carry out experience from here today. Absolutely delicious!! Warm and friendly service. I ordered lunch portions of Chicken Kow Pad and Drunken Noodle (pork), and was given huge portions on both, so much in fact that I was left with more than enough for tomorrow as well. I also want to share the thoughtfulness in how they packaged my drunken noodles, it was wrapped up well on the inside of the to-go box with saran wrap so that the sauce did not leak out everywhere. Best Thai in Detroit.
The food is always fresh and hot.
Quite literally the greatest restaurant of all time. If I could choose my final meal, it would be massaman curry from here.
Hands down best Thai food around. Huge portions! Flavorful, so yummy I can lick my fingers. However what sort of Thai place doesn’t make spicy dishes?? I asked for on fire and they said they don’t do it anymore. I’d give a 5 star but I want spicy darn it!
The tea was delicious 😋
This is some of the best Thai food I've had. The service is great and the atmosphere is superb. This is one of my absolute favorite places to go and get food from
The lady was acting kinda nasty lately the last two times I was there on top of that I found a small piece of metal in my drunken noodles maybe about an inch long I think it came from the things you scrub pots and pans with Lucky I prayed over my food before eating because of the way the lady acted. Be careful I'm fine another thai food place
Shrimp pad Thai dinner had 3 shrimp and full of grease. A piece of green onion the size of my thumbnail. Horrible food. The worst Thai food I have ever had.
Amazing food! Great service.
Always very quick with filling online orders and really really good portions for the price! They also very clearly label what dishes are vegan. I like the vegan fried rice, and also the vegan green curry is good! The spice levels can get pretty high, so I recommend ordering a level below what you’re thinking of getting if you don’t want your dish too spicy.
BEST THAI FOOD IN DETROIT PERIOD!! When I first moved to Lafayette Park, I was told that Bai Mai Thai was the best in town and they didn’t disappoint! I bring all my friends here and recommend them to everyone. Family-owned too! AMAZING food, great customer service, and just all-around great people. I also really appreciate that they take well-deserved breaks for holidays. A business that cares about their own employees’ wellbeing is a business I will always support!! Thank you for always making my day with your delicious food! 💜
Customer service horrible
Bad customer service, they only have one person working and they will not answer the phone and no voicemail setup. I went in to order but had to leave due to the server’s attitude and her response that they purposely don’t answer calls.
I do not eat from places that don’t answer the phone or at least have voicemail. Reason being, if there is an issue with my card charges, food order, or a food Bourne illness, customers should have the ability to make contact by phone.
Great food and customer service, I highly recommend this place.
My Bestie has been telling me to try this food and when I finally did it was amazing!!! I couldn’t believe how good it was. I only did a carry out but the next time I go I definitely want to dine in!!!
Very good food charming for dine in friendly stafd my favourite thai place when I'm downtown in detroit its my go to.
2nd time trying this place, and they are pretty consistent so far. Fast and friendly service. Food isn't as good as Sala Thai but nice runner up in the immediate area.
It's always only one person working. The food is very delicious and somewhat reasonably priced.
I love the food here. Great value for the money.
Really good Thai food. The rice is great. Moves pretty fast to be minimal staff. Clean and the waitresses are always friendly.
Family owned. My favorite Thai restaurant in the city! The customer service is impeccable they are so warm and friendly and then on top of that the food is always amazing. Portions are great too. If you like to swear a bit or you like or mild they have heat to accommodate your palette. If you’re stopping by Detroit and in need of some Thai this is your spot and krs just a hop skip and jump from the Dequindre Cut or the Detroit River Walk if you need to walk off your meal.
Drunken Noodles!!!!! 😍❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🙌🏾
The food has been on point, since my first order!
Great food...one of the best Thai food you can get in Detroit downtown. Have been here multiple times and can never go wrong. Food can be ordered to taste and be customized. However, their customer service us bad and have only one server to take care of the whole restaurant. Saw a stream of to-go orders go through. Prices are reasonable.
amazing sevice taste great would recommend
Food is really good and service was fast.
Great value, big portions, and yummy food! What more can you ask for! Nice selection of vegan options too!
The customer service was by far some of the best I have experienced this year. And the food was excellent. A must vist.
Delicious food and reasonably priced! Their vegan options are also amazing!
Dined in the for the first time. This place is a hidden gem. We drive by it often and finally tried it. We'll be back.
Best Thai in Detroit! I love their tamarind sauce for the Pad Thai, elevates it above all others!
I've had Thai all over the US! This is the best Thai food ever and definitely in the state of Michigan! I've been going here for 20 years!
Very good Thai cuisine
The team here at this restaurant establishment has demonstrated over & over again extreme consistency.
The taste, quality, value and customer service by far is the Best in this area.
10+ Year customer.
Thank you for your service to this community !!
Respectfully
Waited an hour for take out and so glad I did! This place is insanely delicious and definitely worth the wait. Highly recommend!
Was looking for Thai in downtown area. Feels like a neighborhood spot. Staff is nice and efficient. Food is good and consistent.
